Part 2:

Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (Staff and the Serpent #184)

Excerpt 184 (00:09 - 00:50)

1. R. Meaning that everything depends on man's attitude to where he is. Either in sanctity, in order to bestow the good spiritual state or in the Klipa, the shell, the state that is in order to receive corporeal and that everything depends on what a person clarifies in relation to the state that he is in. He cannot change its state; he can only change his attitude toward the state. His attitude changes everything. The observation that he can induce in himself from negative to positive reverses his world, the spiritual world to the corporeal world or the other way around.

Excerpt 185  (01:43 - 03:14)

2. R. Meaning that everything that you have that you think is important and you go with it and now you decide that you do not have any chance and so on toss it out just toss it to the ground see it as something as empty and a zero and then from that you can start growing.

3. S. (03:43) Are the plagues in Egypt like the coronavirus today? Is it coming to us to…

R.  I don't know so much about viruses in order to tell you if it is that or not, why do we need that? Let us say that it is similar in some way for sure.

4. S. (04:28) What is our approach towards the system? For the Creator what is our attitude towards the system?

R. It is when we reach the Creator in order to discover him and we cannot do it only by a gradual advancement towards him and this advancement depends on as much as we organize ourselves correctly more and more compared to him, similar to him so it turns out that we can advance. When we advance we advance like in our world and that we discover as much as we can see, we are far we are opposite and then we perform actions in order to advance and this advancement for this reason is divided into many steps, another step and another step and another step and every time every step something is revealed in as much as we are opposite of the Creator and according to that with what we can resemble the Creator. That is actually our form of advancement. It is rational. In this way we advance that is why our steps to the Creator aren’t just jumps, jumps ahead but left and right, left, and right. We reveal in what we are different, and we get the forces to correct it in which we resemble him upon the difference that was revealed. Then again a difference is revealed again on the left and again we complete it, correct it on the right and in this way on two legs we come closer to him that is it. Meaning the will to receive that is revealed on the left gets a correction in order to bestow on the right and in this way until we take all of our desires to receive and use them in order only to bestow. Because in this way there are a few steps, a few stages in the work with the will to receive so we split this path up to 125 degrees states of smallness and greatness, states of that we perform a restriction and then we ascribe ourselves to the degree of Bina and then from Bina to Keter. That is actually our work.

5. S. (08:16) You said that a person could not change the state but his attitude towards the state and that changes everything. How does it work if I am in a state that doesn't let me advance? It stops me. How do I change everything by changing my attitude towards it?

R. I do not understand. How do you change a state? By turning to the Creator. How do you have an ability to turn to the Creator? Because you are in a group and you try to build the right relationships, the spiritual relationships with them. You see you can't do it and so you turn to the Creator and so you get forces from the Creator, change the relationships in the group, there is already a new web of connections between you, a net of connections where you reveal the next degree, the new one the spiritual one.

S. You said before that a person cannot change the state he is in but only his attitude toward that state and that this really changes everything when a person changes his attitude.

R. That is called that I change the state. Yes, how could it be otherwise? We always have business with a Creator and what happens? Why do I see it differently every time? Because I change. By me changing my attitude toward the Creator changes that is called that I start to feel a new world.

S. If I am in a state that I can't change, what should I do to change the attitude toward my state?

R. You have your ten, if we have had no environment it would have been impossible to change anything all together but now with the environment that I have a force that is opposite of me, against me so with them I can change my state. When I connect to them in all types of new forms that are opposite the Creator bestows upon them through them on me and I from me bestow to them and by this mutuality we change. I have to take steps to the Creator, steps towards the Creator how is that expressed? By me coming closer to the ten. The ten every time reveals new qualities towards me and new conditions if I connect to them so by this I advance. I do not have any other way. Well keep asking.

S. It is just that if there are states where you cannot change them, can’t get out of them for a long time and you have connection with the time so I thought about what you said before that maybe the attitude towards the state can change something.

R. You still do not have any chance to change spirituality only from your changing attitude in the ten. Also the Creator is in the ten you turn to the Creator, and he answers it is all in the ten you have no other ability to do anything else only change the relationships in the ten.

6. S. (12:28) You said we rise degree after degree in each one there is infancy and adulthood, so the infancy and the adulthood are equal or different from each and every new degree?

R. Different, they are different also in quality and in quantity and mostly in quality.

7. S. (13:16) About to cast the thoughts of despair on the ground, how do you do that?

R. By annulling before the ten you have to understand that no spiritual action can be in the person himself, only toward the ten. In practice only that, that's why it seems to us that we're doing a lot of actions, investing, and siding and doing all kinds of things and it does not bear fruit, no results because we do not invest it in the ten. Because the spiritual vessel where we get the result is the ten what can you do?

8. S. (14:12) I didn't understand why we change according to the level of connection between us. What does it mean?

R. Of course, how else can we change? To the extent of the connection between us that changes we bestow upon the Creator. On the upper light that shines around us that is constant and complete rest, but we buy the change between us we by that invite changes from that light. Then it seems to us that the Creator is doing the changes, but it is actually us that was doing the changes. That is what is written you have made me.

S. So, what appears in connection between us is more calibration towards the goal?

R. Of course it is like a boat or ship whatever you want. I will explain it. It is us by the connection between us, the changes of connections between us we reach the goal. The pace and the direction and the persistence in reaching the goal depends on the extent of the pace and persistence and connection between us. The upper light is in complete rest and we, by the connections between us, the different ones we invite changes from him. Then either he advances us or the opposite; stops us. Until we in the connections between us will reveal all of his qualities that the light and the vessel will be equal.

9. S. (16:53) You said we think we might be doing a lot of actions, but it doesn't bear fruit if we do not invest in the ten. What is your advice for this state?

R.  In that state unless we reach prayer we dry out and leave.

S. So not to do actions and invest in the study or anything else outside of the ten in our society?

R. Of course yes but as much as you can do it together.

S. Yes together there are to do a lot of actions in the group, but it is outside of the ten, does it not bear fruit?

R. It does but it's better to do them all together.

S. What is together?

R. Together it is if you can do it with a few more friends. It is good to do a spiritual action at least two together.

S. But how does it have to do with a ten if I'm preparing something for the society and it is with friends but outside of the ten? How do I relate it to the ten?

R. You have to understand these things through our study. I can’t get into every little detail but try and all of the details that we can be together, try and do it together. That's it, look at what Rabash writes. What I'll take you in the hand and tell you to do this or do that? At every spiritual action if you want to make it spiritual it has to be connected between the friends.

S. Better to make less actions, external actions at service of the general group and focus more on just the ten?

R. It is better to do this and that together.

10. S. (19:19) Why does the staff becomes a serpent?

R. Because you don't know how to work with it. If you don't know how to work with it correctly, the staff becomes a serpent. then group is really, can just toss a person.

11. S. (19:44) What is the staff that we should hold on to in our state.

R. That is faith above reason. He explains that there, it is actually that is what we need to start studying the staff in the serpent.

12. S. (20:16) The Creator told him to throw it on the ground do that before the people of Israel, what does it mean before the people of Israel what is that action in the ten?

R. first I do that action even if I don't agree with it, but I do it because it is commanded from above, but it works on my entire, on all my organs and they will gradually agree to it. That is it. That if I take it correctly so it becomes a staff and if not it becomes a serpent.

13. S. (21:03) It says that the body tells you to give up on this and don't think you will be able to attain it. What is the difference between the despair coming from ego and despair coming from the Creator?

R. Despair that comes from the ego buries a person and despair that comes from spiritual work advances a person because it explains to him that with his own forces he cannot reach it, he needs the force of the group and the Creator.

14. S. (21:43) How to guide the serpent so it doesn't turn into it, to stop the staff so that it doesn't turn into a serpent, does it always change?

R. The change because we always reach new degrees but every time we need to still out ourselves to calibrate ourselves in a way that there will be something higher and lower of importance what is above and what is below.

15. S. (22:19) What does it mean then to hold onto the staff correctly, so it helps us and does not become a serpent?

R. Without a staff there is no serpent, don’t get confused. It’s the group. If we grasp that principal and we want to keep raising it all the time, that means I'm grabbing the will to receive correctly and if the opposite so the opposite.

16. S. (22:48) So we need to talk to the ten about this issue of the staff all the time or?

R. We will learn it this afternoon. At least you can read the staff in the serpent from these articles; the 15th of Av and the staff and the serpent and there are few good articles about it.

17. S. (23:27) You said that the Kli and light must be equal and the Kli is the discovery of the desires, and the light fills them. What does it mean they're equal? Both coming from the Creator?

R. The will to bestow of the Kli equalizes with the will to bestow of the light, the Creator and according to that they connect and they're in a mutual action.

18. S. (24:18) Just trying to summarize if I feel any kind of pressure from … It should be an indication to me that I have to add connection in the ten is that correct?

R. Always the addition in connection in the ten is the correct action.

S. So the following question: all the actions already built for us, what does it mean to add connection in the ten using the actions we are doing?

R. Try and build the image of the Creator between you, the quality of the Creator between you. That is it.

19. S. (25:28) Recently you answer the question you said that there is a division between spiritual despair and corporeal despair in our world, if you can elaborate on that at least differentiate between them and explain? We see in the group we largely work within reason in corporeal vessels so what is the difference between one kind and another kind because we are looking for some results within reason. Where is this boundary between the corporal and spiritual?

R. Me reaching despair from my work in spirituality is actually a state that is always beside me and I through it can strengthen my connection with the group and the Creator. I use despair, weakness, and helplessness specifically in order to strengthen my connection with the group and with the Creator. But if the connection with the group and the Creator is not correct, isn't sufficient and isn't developed then I am concerned about it so I in every despair I can fall. Nothing will be left of it. Clear?

S. The process itself of decision-making that I don't invest enough spiritually in the group comes from holding this serpent in the wrong way? It is coming from within reason, no? So about the decision-making, where is this boundary where I can understand correctly.

R. You need every time to feel that you are in a state of taking a decision, that is it. Every time taking a decision. And it will be more clear to you what is going on. Okay now let's give you a workshop at the end of the lesson and we will see you at two in the afternoon according to the Israel time, so the question is…

WSQ (28:34): How do we discern that in our hands we have a staff or serpent? What does it mean a staff and what does it mean a serpent and how do we work with it? That actually it all depends on the way a person observes it. There are those that constantly go with the serpent in their hand, and it seems to them that it is a staff and there are those that walk with the staff and actually it is a serpent. Please how do we in the group in our life check and we're sure that we are advancing with the staff correctly please. Speak about it and we will keep doing this this afternoon to a new topic.
