Meeting with the Turkey Group 2002 - Topic: The Importance of Dissemination in the Last Generation
1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:20) Yes, I did not choose the topic but such a topic I agree with heart and soul: all heart. Rather, we will enter the lesson and we will see what questions we have. I will be happy to hear because this topic is truly the first; the greatest.
None of us was created on our own, we are parts of Adam HaRishon and we all of us, as much as we connect together, can influence on us, on our faith, on our world and everyone, and ultimately on the Creator. That he expects this. That we will awaken Him and request of Him corrections, questions and such we will advance to the purpose of our life.
We also live as we said not just once in a unique generation, in a unique time, in a unique role that everything is ahead of us. What remains for us is just to complete the circuit, the circle that all the previous generations did this.
We have left the last stage, the most important stage, the most significant and although our work is very difficult but we will make the effort and complete the general correction for everyone. As Baal HaSulam says, “I was happy that I was born in such a generation that we can reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah.” That we can participate in all the corrections that are opened before for us and it is truly a unique generation and we need to understand the size of the importance; just how much we are important. That although there were generations that were greater but specifically us, we exist in the generation that is going to complete the entire circle of the souls and this is truly a huge privilege and I'm very much hopeful that we will stand up to this according to how I feel the audience standing here before me. We will be happy to truly complete the corrections.
You are huge, you are important, you have all the right elements that you received from the Creator, from nature and we exist in such a manner, in a unique time. Let us make the effort and complete the circle. We will close it and finish it.
I'm reading here from the writings of Baal HaSulam that the friends collected for this lesson. He writes this. “That the end of the correction of the world will only be by bringing all the people in the world under His work.” Meaning everyone must reach spiritual work to participate in this in a complete manner, in a whole manner and in such we reach the whole correction of the world: the complete correction of the world and that is up to us to do. The end of Tikkun Olam will only be by bringing all the people in the world under His work. This is from the article ‘The Arvut.’

Reading Excerpt 1 (06:17)
R. The purpose of creation lies on the shoulders of the whole of the human race. The emphasis is on the whole human race together black or white or yellow without any essential difference between them.
R. (06:36) The purpose of creation lies on the shoulders of everyone and this specifically needs to be revealed now in the last generation; so we still have work before us. We have a period where everyone needs to enter this work of connection. Then we will finish the correction of the world. I will repeat. The purpose of creation lies on the shoulders of the whole of the human race, together black, or white, or yellow without any essential difference.
Reading Excerpt 3. (07:31)
R. The Creator's desired goal for creation that He had created is to bestow upon His creatures, so that they would know His truthfulness and greatness and receive all the delight and pleasure He had prepared for them.
R. (08:04) In this Baal HaSulam writes too in the introduction to the ‘Book of Zohar.’ I will repeat. “The Creator's desired goal for creation He had created. What does He want of creation, is to bestow upon His created beings so they would know His truthfulness and greatness and receive all of the delight and pleasure He had prepared for them.” Meaning that we need to reveal the entire system of creation from our very upbringing. Just how much we operate, how much we activate creation and through this to become familiar with the Creator, what he prepared for us, how he arranged everything and just how much we, in our corrections activate the entire creation in a whole correction. That the entire creation comes to its correction only on the condition that we correct ourselves. That besides man in this world, there is nothing more to correct. When we think of nature, the animals and all sorts of reasons, that they influence us but no. Everything is included in man and is dependent on man and everything comes through correction through man.

Reading Excerpt 4. (10:38)
R. I am glad that I've been born in such a generation where it is permitted to disclose the wisdom of truth. And should you ask how I know that it is permitted, to advertise the wisdom of Kabbalah, I will reply that it is because I have been given permission to disclose. Meaning, that is, until now the ways by which it is possible to publicly engage and to fully explain each word for everyone without any limit have not been revealed to any sage and this is what the Creator has given me to the fullest extent that we deem it as dependent not on the greatness of the sage. He is saying not because I am especially wise but rather on the state of the generation. That the generation reaches a certain state and needs to reveal an additional stage. Meaning they are to complete all the corrections. This is what is happening in this generation. We need of course to make the effort but if it comes to our generation then we would be privileged.

R. Do not be surprised if I mix together the well-being of a particular collective with the well-being of the whole world, because indeed we have already come to such a degree where the whole world is considered one collective and one society. That is, because every person in the world draws his life's marrow and his livelihood from all the people in the world, he thereby becomes enslaved, to serve and care for the well-being of the entire world.
R. (13:39) We don’t complete the correction by a third,a half or some part of the world. Rather, only by this that we worry for everyone, care for everyone and pay attention to the direction of our dissemination, what must be it must be to advertise to everyone as much as possible to prepare the material, lectures, ourselves, all the manners of dissemination: music, singing, books of course everything, and then by this we will advance the entire world to correction. And the Creator, according to how much we make efforts, He will arrange everything and assist us to enter the Tikkun Olam.
Reading Excerpt 5. (14:56)
R. Do not be surprised if I mix together the well-being of a particular collective with the well-being of the whole world.
R. (15:09) We cannot today take some specific nation, or some part of humanity, some continent; it is impossible. Rather, if we want to make corrections, we must advertise them in a manner that is as wide as possible and only in such a manner that we will do this the correction will expand;will spread.
Thus, he writes, do not be surprised if I mix together the well-being of a particular collective with the well-being of the whole world because indeed we have already come to such a degree where the whole world is considered one collective and one society. That is, because every person in the world draws his life’s marrow and his livelihood from all the people in the world, he thereby becomes enslaved, to serve and care for the well-being of the entire world, to serve and care for the entire world.
And we see here just how much he worries here that we will care for the entire world for all of humankind because otherwise we cannot, we will not get a half, a third, or a quarter of correction it can only be on the condition that as much as we can we will advertise the method of correction and the essence of correction.
2. S. (17:28) From previous lessons I remember you saying that there is no limit to come closer to the Creator; we can always progress in our spirituality. If so, then what is the definition of a corrected man?
R. The corrected person is that he is similar to the Creator and thus he is called man; Adam from the word similar; Domeh.
S. Is it possible to progress in this all the time because you said that we can always come closer to the Creator? Is there a limit to become like the Creator, like Domeh?
R. Until we complete all of the corrections, all the general corrections on all of humanity we can advance and each one has room to add. Even let us say that I am in a state that I corrected everything, everything that was up to me, but in each moment, some more opportunities are opened up from additional people, and I join them and participate in their correction. It will finish only in that complete, end of correction. All right?
S. The articles are full of emotions. I want to ask how can we culminate the deficiency of the Turkish Kli and make progress of the Turkish Kli to the world?
R. When Rabash passed away, his students remained, and there was a meeting, and what was spoken about in the meeting from all the friends was that they did not want to advertise the wisdom of Kabbalah because also during the time of Rabash it was very, very weak, the advertisement of Kabbalah. And I told them I was next to Rabash, I was his assistant, I was next to him. I would travel with him for days to all sorts of places.
That when he was in the hospital, in bed, for months here, or a few weeks there. And there, over the years, when I was with him, I was next to him, that's why I was next to him all the time and thus I understood that it is important to him to advertise the wisdom of Kabbalah. How much Baal HaSulam, his father, was constantly engaged in this. He wrote the ‘Talmud Eser Sefirot,’ ‘The Explanation to the Book of Zohar,’ and articles, so much that you could not take the pen out of his hand, his hand was truly already stuck in that state; that position.
Then I told this to them, and they said, will we be great like Baal HaSulam, we will continue beforehand we do not have what to do and as much as I tried to talk to them about this, it did not help, so then I left them and I continued on my own. Truly, I couldn't agree with this, that we will learn and make connection only between us and everything will end in this. I was engaged in dissemination also, before Rabash passed away. I brought many students to him and these students themselves did not want to continue in the labor of dissemination even though that because of my dissemination they arrived and I was then very negatively impressed from this entire event and I left them. There were a few other events around this. After my father passed away in Canada and I traveled there, and a few other events, and by the time I came back, the group was already divided and that is how it continued.
I would stand upon the matter of dissemination as being the first and foremost. Meaning, that each one is important only according to how much he advertises. Of course there are tendencies to each one for dissemination, different tendencies, there are differences in ability, different abilities, but nonetheless; everyone must make an effort. And thus, I founded the organization of Bnei Baruch and since then we have disseminated. We printed books. They didn't even want to print books of Baal HaSulam; they had their books and that was enough. We gave out all sorts of books. We traveled to all sorts of places just to give them out and like this slowly, slowly they began to drip, people started to arrive and we purchased a little house, or rented, and we began to learn. And men started to arrive and also some women.
This was many years ago. It wasn't even accepted back then the woman would be learning. I started to appear on the radio and that is how we began dissemination. You think that only in the privilege of dissemination, we grow, that we have additional force and truly, if there is progress on all levels, in all fields, in all meaning of our International Organization; it is only in privilege of dissemination. Because the world as Baal HaSulam says and I'm sure you have read and learned, the world is advancing to Tikkun Olam, and thus, we have an obligation to advertise. The unique time in which we live, to explain it, because according to the state that we build in the connection between us, and the connection between the groups, accordingly we will advance; only accordingly. As he writes, it is not dependent on the wisdom of the generation or that you will be some huge wise sages, no.
Because the plan of nature will invert. Let's say hundreds of years ago, up until then, it was maybe dependent on one soul. On just how much it was huge and unique, like Baal HaSulam. Today, it is dependent only on the connection between human beings, just how they are more in quantity, or unique in the quality in dissemination, in the connection between them in quality, and in this the success is dependent. Thus, we are measured according to our dissemination, according to the quantity of people, according to the giving of lessons and not according to how much we understand in the book.That is the call of the time.
3. S. (29:30) In your book, ‘Always With Me,’ you mentioned that there is Kabbalistic group in Kotzk. You mentioned that this group use a different method and Rabash was also interested in this group. The subject intrigued me too. What are your thoughts on the method of this group and the approach of Rabash?
R. I read about it. I advise you to , we don't have it in Turkish right, is it in English? The book is called ‘Direct Words of Truth.’ This was written by the leader; their teacher. This was a group that existed about two-hundred years ago maybe a bit and they were closed in one place, in Poland called… It is like a village and they lived there in a very close-knit manner and all the time, besides concern for food they would be concerned with only entering connection between them and revealing more and more the upper force.
They write about this. It is desirable to read the book. It is maybe just thirty pages but you see there just how much they were very ready. And standing upon this, not willing to compromise anything, not with their ego and not with the ego over their environment. In our times it does not exist anymore, this group long ago ended.
Rabash would say that if there was in his time,meaning, one-hundred years ago, that if there was such a group, he would enter it. Yes. That's what I can say. Translate it, read it, it adds, it adds a lot to what we learn. There is nothing there besides the correct, true approach to reveal the Creator by the wisdom of Kabbalah. There are many more books but I don't think that it is worthwhile now to start running towards all sorts of books. There are maybe fifteen books, not more, that you can read in addition about the approach and development of the wisdom of Kabbalah. And the words of sages from all times. I do not recommend to start running around to all sources. First of all, they are not all translated. From what you have translated, you can see in our archive, and try it on your own also to read and translate. That's it.
4. S. (34:41) I want to ask a question about dissemination. Dissemination requires hope and we sometimes fall into serious despair. How do we elevate the importance of dissemination in our hearts so that we can move forward despite the despair?
R. I will tell you. All the good things, the high things, that what we attain, we attain only out of despair. When a person is in despair, falls, he feels just where he lacks forces, just how much that he has nothing to rely on. Rather, only if the Creator raises him and he awakens, shakes it off and gets up anew. As it is written, ‘a thousand times, a righteous shall fall and get up,’ and thus, despair is a sign of a sense that will come after.
And thus, we fall and get up. We fall and get up. Each time we get up and advance a bit more and thus it is truly written, ‘a thousand times a righteous man shall fall and get up again.’ One who justifies such a path, such a stride, he reaches a degree where everything is revealed to him. And thus, we need to mainly arrange the society, that it shall be ready to grab hold of each one whenever he is already falling a bit and helping him to get up. And each time higher. I am sure you can work this out and it will exist in you in all its splendor and beauty. Okay, let us continue.
Excerpt 6 Rav Reads (37:58) One does not live for one-self, but for the whole chain and thus, each and every part of the chain does not receive the light of life into itself. Nobody receives the light of life into himself, but only distributes the light of life to the whole chain and this is what passes through him, this is called that he receives. Meaning I need to think about the entire chain. Then, when I think of everyone, about the entire world, that in such enters correction and then the light passes through me to everyone and that is what I also receive. If there is some blockage after me the light doesn't pass on to the created beings, that it also does not enter me, it stops before me. The light stops before it reaches me. That’s clear, right?
5. S. (39:36) Especially after Covid people started to be interested in spirituality. We see that people use our spiritual resources in their words but but they continue to vilify Kabbalah. How can we fight this?
R. I don’t think that we need to protect the wisdom of Kabbalah. People don’t understand what it is. The wisdom of Kabbalah is the wisdom of nature, Elokim in Gemetria is nature. We need to talk about the upper force or nature, it’s the same thing. And thus we don't have the tendency to correct them or manipulate them somehow, we just want to simply explain to them the laws of creation. And this creation that is before us, there are two parts, the revealed and the concealed.
And there's so much here but I'm not sure where to start and end and how to wrap this all up in a clear concise manner. I think that in all we need to explain to human beings as is already traditional today, to speak about this that the universe it's not the same universe that we see. There is the revealed part and there is the concealed part. And we even reveal where the limit is where the universe ends, the revealed universe. And then begins something that we don't know, we can’t reach there, light rays don’t penetrate there. And that’s what happens with us.
The wisdom of Kabbalah explains this and even more. It says that the matter is that there is a limit in our perception. It’s not sufficient for us to just build additional telescopes or all sorts additional machines, no. Rather we don’t have the senses to feel what is occurring beyond the limit of the revealed universe and more than this we cannot reveal. There are all sorts of theories about this, it’s spoken about a lot, but ultimately the matter is simple, we don’t have the sense by which to reveal what is beyond the limit of the universe. And we will help humanity understand this and that it will also become familiar with this; this is the limit that we cannot pass rather only by this that we will develop in us the sixth sense meaning the force of bestowal. Because by the force of bestowal we will have no limit, we will begin to see above time, space and thus reveal the true universe. We hope that this will occur, we will advance towards this, get closer to it and we’ll teach all of humanity how we can truly reveal that same expanse in which we exist.
Excerpt 7 Rav Reads (45:11) Every person should say, “The whole world was created only for me”. It follows that if the whole world has been created for me, I have to look and delve into the correction of the world at all times and satisfy the needs of the world, and pray for them. I’ll repeat. Every person should say, “The whole world was created only for me” as if it sounds very egoistic, right? The whole world was created only for me. But he continues, it follows that if the whole world has been created for me, I have to look and delve into the correction of the world at all times and satisfy the needs of the world, and pray for them.
S. (46:42) What is the deficiency that we need to feel in dissemination?
R. We have to fulfill a single deficiency, that each and every one will understand how we reveal the upper force. And from that we will understand everything that’s happening, from the beginning to the end of creation including our time and all times. How we take on the forces of nature and know how to work with them, all of them. Humans are unlimited, that’s what we need to explain to everyone. In the meantime like children we’re playing in a sandbox and we need to come out of it, to grow up.
7. S. (48:35) Should we disseminate so that everyone can come to work? What should be our purpose in dissemination?
R. Yes, yes, of course. The direction of human development is that everyone will recognize the Creator through connection between them. They’ll connect with the Creator and that’s how we go back to the system of Adam HaRishon. The Creator created it as a complete system and then shattered it so that so that we will reassemble it by our own strength and by that we will recognize all of reality, all of nature, the Creator and ourselves and everything will become transparent and eternal. We can begin this process from today.
Excerpt 8 Rav Reads (50:19) Life’s direction is to attain adhesion with Him, the Creator strictly to benefit the Creator, or to reward the public with achieving adhesion with Him. So this means I am pushing everyone, that's basically the whole direction, to reward the public with achieving adhesion with Him.
Excerpt 9 Rav Reads (51:13) One who truly wants to serve the Creator must include himself with all creations, connect himself with all the souls, include himself with them, and they with him. That is, you should leave for yourself only what is needed for connecting the Shechina so to speak. Meaning I don’t need any forces, any knowledge, anything besides what I need for connection between everyone. This requires closeness and many people, for the more people serve the Creator, the more the light of the Shechina appears to them, the upper light. For this reason, one must include himself with all the people and with all creations, and raise everything to their root, to the correction of the Shechina. We have to connect together, try to connect with the Creator and raise all of it to Him.
Excerpt 10 Rav Reads (53:13) By causing the entire world to receive the delight and pleasure that exist in the purpose of creation it follows that he has become a partner of the Creator and that through him we'll come the assistance by which everyone will achieve the purpose of creation. Thus he has become a partner of the Creator. Meaning that by helping everyone connect we help them, all of them be partners with the Creator and that’s how we all achieve the goal.
Excerpt 11 Rav Reads (54:32) It is known that the whole world, with all created beings, must receive their vitality from the Creator all the time and at any given moment. Therefore, it is appropriate and fitting for the righteous to become a medium between the Creator and the entire world. That we will connect the Creator to all created beings. To connect everything to Him, to make a pathway and a track, a passage for the abundance and vitality, and a pipeline to pour down to all created beings, to fulfill everyone. He is the one who unites heaven and earth, meaning connecting the entire world to the Creator. Who connects the whole world to the Creator, so they will not part from Him. So each one makes sure that he connects through himself the Creator to all created beings.
Excerpt 12 Rav Reads (56:13) Baal HaSulam says you like nothing but you got to a field that the Lord has blessed and collect all those flaccid organs that have drooped from your soul and join them into a single body. This is the only thing we lack.
6. S. (56:51) We know that dissemination is beneficial to the person who invests in it. Also we know that dissemination helps a person to stay on the path with stability. I want to ask our friends qualities are different, their characters are different, how can we encourage them to take part in dissemination more and more?
R. Look, also in our group there are a few hundred people, they are very different from each other, not everyone can write, some barely read certain texts but we try to give each and everyone an opportunity to participate in disemination, whether it’s writing or all kinds of other forms of connections. Sometimes we published a newspaper and handed it out on the streets we bring books, translate books and so forth. I think you can certainly find a role for each and every one, there's so much to do there. Try to talk to our people who are responsible for this, they’ll explain to you how we are organized. I don’t know the details well but there are people here too who know, and so try. Try to get to know them and learn from them.
S. (59:39) And I also want to ask about the internal part of dissemination. Here we gathered today and in the connection between us we have difficulty to connect. And the force that connects us, how does the force of connection affect us, the greater geography in the masses besides these disseminations? Internally I mean, how can we give efforts internally in terms of dissemination?
R. This too needs to be learned but in joining for the lesson day after day and also discussing dissemination that helps us. I don’t even know what else to answer here. We have to try to organize the material, translate the material, sort it out, correct it, adapt it and see how we disseminate and to whom. Because you have a very big country, 80 million people, so that’s quite a lot to think about. But accordingly you also have great beautiful work of adapting our material to all kinds of groups and parts of the population and you’ll have to learn how to do that, that’s what your spiritual development depends on. It’s not that you're helping them, it’s that as they receive the material from you it helps you because through them you'll discover more and more spiritual degrees, that’s how it works.
S. (01:02:40) I want to add, in order to develop the dissemination in Turkey we disseminate in Arabic and we show our friends the video clips and in Asia and Turkey we do our disseminations, and in the Balkans also there is dissemination. So there is a region that Turkey influences so what do you think, how do you think that the developments in Turkey affect these regions?
R. Turkey is at a crossroads, it’s in between Africa and Europe and Asia, it’s kind of a connector for this entire region. And that’s how it used to be for many many years, we will learn that from history. I think that disseminating Kabbalah in Turkey even without the name Kabbalah itself it will influence a lot of places around Turkey and you will see how much that will add to your progress.
7. S. (01:04:41) We're coming from a conservative society with traditions and Israel is one of them. In safety we don’t cause other friends to go away. How can we do this dissemination, this help? Creator holds everyone else as long as we keep on moving, can we say this?
R. I don't know. We’re going to have to learn how to disseminate correctly, certainly without the name Kabbalah, without Israel of course also without Bnei Baruch we don't need that. We need to write about the development of man, the development of the world and without the sources to make it easier for people to get to know the material, to get closer to it, read it. Otherwise they’ll close it and reject it in advance. We need to understand people. The main thing for us is that people will know where the world needs to go, where it’s headed, what is the reason for our difficult life here, how can we turn our way around to a better, more secure, safe way of life. That’s what a person needs to know, that is what we need to explain.
8. S. (01:07:21) Why is it so hard to disseminate to people with blood ties? We're facing a huge rejection, how can we overcome it and how can you explain this?
R. Two things: First, is that you are a disseminating and it is like religion so it gets a very, very harsh response and also the approach is incorrect. Such a young, beautiful woman comes and wants to explain to me what is religion, what is the upper force, how I should live my life? That is unacceptable, especially in a country like Turkey which is still we could say an orthodox country. Every person is a believer, every person, any person, even if they don't pray everyday and so forth. This is how it is. So it has to be done very subtly, gently, and through slow gradual progress and certainly not in a way that women go out and disseminate like that. I think it's definitely not going to work, not just in Turkey, generally in the world.
9. S. (01:09:55) Today the personal development thinks like you're capable of doing everything, love yourself and you are precious but our work is the opposite. While we are having such a hard time doing this work how will the people we disseminate to digest what we tell them?
R. I don't know but but you're probably telling them about how they can kill their ego, and that’s why they don't want to hear it. So try to speak to a little child, he is not going to want to hear that also. Only through scientific explanations and all kinds of ways we manage to find some ways to people's hearts. But in the end when we talk about each one being an egoist and having to step down from your ego no one is willing to listen to that directly. No one. It’s difficult work, but the Creator wants us specifically to come to Him through this path.
10. S. (01:11:46) Is the main goal of learning to connect, love and bestowal, to actually achieve dissemination?
R. Yes, connect love and bestowal are disseminated in the way that everyone will become included in that, and that will be the correction of the world. I basically concluded this topic, if you have more questions, well, go ahead.
11. S. (01:13:06) I want to ask regarding dissemination, forgive me for asking in Bulgarian, friends from Turkey here. We have friends disseminating what they have read, what they have seen, how to draw people to bring them closer to us in order for them to grow, to learn Kabbalah seriously and join the group, we can't seem to succeed in this yet?
R. I am not an expert in that, I am not the expert here, I’m not in this dissemination work except for giving lessons and lectures, conversations; so you have to talk to our friends who are engaged in that and from there you can learn. They produced films, they produce all kinds of video clips, they publish newspapers, they translate books, this is basically our whole work and of course the work online.
S. We are doing everything in our power, translating clips, but there are so many people who accepted this idea in their heart but they're not coming to join the group. How do we draw them to join the group and not just stay as viewers?
R. Do they have a possibility to study online?
S. Yes, we are doing online campuses as well.
R. So what else can you do if they don't want to come physically? Maybe it's not convenient for them, maybe it is expensive to take the drive, or I don't know; also for us it is like that.
S. We are doing the course online..
R. We have to develop the online studies, everything is through the internet today. Okay, good luck, we'll see you it’s always like that when disseminating, it’s like waves, it is it goes through waves.
12. S. (01:17:30) In this Congress I felt the joy of overcoming for the first time! While we are together with friends, we are strong, there is a power that we feel. What is the source of this power and why we feel this when we are with friends but we don't have this in the absence of the friends?
R. When we will now go back, alone, each one to be in his own corner, we will feel how difficult it is, there is not the same enthusiasm awakening when you're not together with the others, and that is the problem. This was done on purpose to give us a recognition of the obligation to connect to the system of Adam HaRishon, to be ‘as one man in one heart’. To the extend that we connect between us, we start feeling the Creator; one person can't, as much as I invest in the other, to that extent I go out a bit out of myself and I start feeling spirituality. That is why it is ‘a must’ to connect as much as possible to a bigger group and then it can help each and every one uplift above the limits of this world and start feeling the spiritual world. We will feel all eternality, wholeness, we will feel ourselves existing above the borders of time and place and that is what we need; otherwise we exist as if, as if we're dead, that’s what the Zohar tells us about us.
13. S. (01:20:24) Since everyone should think that there is only me bestowing to the whole world, is bestowing to the whole world actually bestowing to ourselves?
R. Yes we are bestowing to ourselves but under the condition that we think of the others and the Creator, by this we open the conduit, the abundance to all the created beings.
