Lesson 4

1. Rav’s Introduction: (01:10) Yes, this is the last lesson of the current convention that we have for the good living in Lishma; life in Lishma for the sake of the world, and it is in fact for the sake of the world. A person doesn't need to think of any other goal but only by his participation, by his work and his efforts the world will develop more and more in coming closer to the Creator. That all of his friends will gather, will connect and and it will be in unity; all together one man in one heart, all of the created beings and this will truly be the form of Gmar Tikkun, as it was in before the sin of Adam HaRishon. So let's start with the excerpt. You can ask questions. We will talk, whatever you want, whatever you think that's related to this topic. So go ahead.

Reading excerpt one (02:30) “I say that the first and only Mitzva..”

2. R. (03:15) So it turns out that a person lives not for himself but he revives himself only in order to revive others; to help others and in any case he takes care of himself only for the necessity and beyond that he only cares for everyone else in the world; that everyone will also reach that same form of of connection and revelation of goodness in their lives, in their corporeal lives and in their spiritual lives as much as possible. That is why this is our work. Meaning the purpose of our existence is in order to bring to the world the goodness, the existence of goodness, mutuality, connection, to explain to everyone what connection depends upon and why specifically through the connection between us we can reach the good, secure, confident and peaceful life.

3. S. (04:39) The entry into Lishma is it gradual, in stages or the whole ten achieves it at once?

R. No, no this comes gradually even within a single ten it could be that part are and some are not but as much as we are all in all drawn towards connection between us and revelation of the quality of the Creator as Good that does Good, that it will reside between us that is how we actually draw all of the dwellers of the world. First of all, worldwide Bnei Baruch we first enter it and following more and more people that come closer and connect to us.

This is why the more we advance we need to see,we need to measure to what extent we are also giving an example to all of the people of the world. How to be together connected with mutual care, with mutual support, one towards the other and by that we will all reach Lishma. So Lishma for the Creator’s sake is for the connection between us, for a good connection, for mutuality that each and everyone will have a necessity and that they’ll help one another and that each and everyone will reach and will satisfy their needs, their thoughts and by that we will advance towards the correction of the entire world.

S. So we understand but also the process with the rest of the world would be a gradual process and a long one?

R. It doesn't have to be long term. We are, as Baal HaSulam writes, we are already at the end of the development of the world and to that extent that we need to reach Lishma we need to reach connection and this is how we can sustain the world towards its desired correction.

4. S. (08:05) Is Lishma working for the benefit of the group? Also, if my nature is the opposite of bestowing to the friends?

R. Lishma is everything that is outside of the will to receive. There are two qualities in the world: the will to receive that the Creator created and the will to bestow which is His quality. And we need to to transform from one quality to the other and also we need to pull after us the entire world or you can say it like this, we need to push this quality of in order to bestow to the entire world; to all of the created beings. That is the purpose of our work and it needs to be realized from our time and onwards. You could say that we are the first that are coming with this flag. You could say that we need to bring the entire world to the desired state that everyone will be connected as one man in one heart and that is how all of us together we will exist.

5. S. (10:00) The mind, the reason in our current state, the knowledge is it the result of the degree, is it actually a result of the degree that we are in? What does it mean the knowledge, the reason of Lishma? It seems like it is a collective thing? As you said some will come to it first and others later. What is the state of Lishma?

R. Lishma can be in one group, even a single person that reaches the quality of Lishma and others don't and later on they will also join. It is not that we all need to be connected together and then we rise from Lo Lishma to Lishma. So that's why all of us, we need to be drawn to it but each one will receive it according to their own efforts: as much as they give.

S. That means, turns out that we receive the knowledge from above?

R. Yes we receive it straight from the Creator.

6. S. (11:31) If everything that is mine is yours and everything that is yours, yours who am I?

R. Whenever you annul yourself completely to that extent you are in Dvekut with the Creator and then you enter the upper world, a world that is entirely good.

S. Thank you for my brothers and friends.

7. S. (12:45) To work for the general is that working in order to change my attitude towards the rest of the world and my thoughts?

R. Of course we need to change our approach to our thoughts to the entire world. We do it through the ten. We feel, we check, we get used to it and then it evolves towards the entire world. Baal HaSulam writes about it and also Rabash. That's also what we need to do.

8. S. (13:24) Before we reach the place of one man with one heart, does the work that we do practically towards helping people such as social work or such as someone is in financial need or some physical help that we can do does that count as work as well?

R. Yes, anything that we can correct the world with to bring the relationships between people to the corrected form that is all considered as efforts on the way to Lishma.

9. S. (14:35) Who is the world? The Chinese and the Arabs and the Turks and the Russians and the Ukrainians? Is there some kind of development in the way that we support the world from the Middle East or Europe or Africa? How to exactly support the world and help the world?

R. We are talking about the entire world as Baal HaSulam writes, white, yellow, black, red it doesn't matter what people, everyone needs to reach Lishma and to rise to the degree of unity of connection with everyone.

S. Does this include the young, the old people who may have passed away from the world who weren't born yet? Are these people also included in the world?

R. No, it includes those in the world from age thirteen and up.

S. In the whole world from thirteen up? Men, women, everyone?

R. I already answered you.

10. S. (16:05) We learn that Lishma is coming from above and we are not getting it from our strength and we need to make the exertion above our nature. Do we in the ten, when we feel the repulsion and rejection and we rise above then is the Creator is giving us Lishma?

R. Yes, exactly according to our efforts.

11. S. (16:39) It's a very emotional and exciting step that you are holding us, on one hand and on the other hand the Creator is holding us. When we pray for the correction that in every moment the script of our life changes and when we pray for everyone the fate of the world changes as well. Is that correct? We pray for you in every moment exactly the same as for ourselves and we even forget about ourselves. I am very excited because it is a very big step that we are facing. This door is opening and it seems to me that there is a feeling that we are also ready for this and that we are sending you hugs and that we thank the Creator for having such a teacher. Thank you.

R. (Hebrew translation missing)

12. S. (18:00) We are scrutinizing the spiritual state called Lishma. What is Lo Lishma?

R. In Lo Lishma we are discerning all of our thoughts, all of our desires, all of our actions and we see that they are all for the benefit of our ego only and that's called Lo Lishma but if we see that there is in us desires, actions, thoughts that they are above our ego then we call it Lishma. All in all, to transition from an egoistical existence to an altruistic existence: that is what they call moving from Lo Lishma to Lishma.

13. S. (19:22) Maybe it's an inappropriate question but why is it better that a man will be married to reach Lishma?

R. In our times no,in our times there is no difference between man and woman married or not married. The main thing is that it will be no less than thirteen or fourteen years old. This is what we start to talk about the beginning of a man and the same thing with a woman.

14. S. (12:02) Regarding the prayer, while we read in the excerpt so the prayer for the well-being of the world came, that I feel that I am in a different state, once it was not, it's a prayer that's including the entire Kli did something change?

R. Well we have connected all of us together now in this convention and we see and feel much more connected to us than what was before. And therefore, it turns out that today we are a bigger group of a hundred, of thousands of people that we are all connected. Therefore,we feel each other, we pray for each other and we hug between us and it's such a great convention to us. Well have you seen the Madrid group, that over there are so many gathered, men and women together. This is very beautiful to see. Yes I hear you Madrid.

15. S. (23:00) We would like to thank you for this wonderful congress. To the men who are very connected and strong and they hold. And to you dear Rav, to thank you and the Creator and we would like this convention to last for a week and that we will reach Lishma to continue. The question is how can we, the women, help…(no translation)

R. You can help just like the men. Your work needs to be no less important than the work of the men in connection between everyone. The women specifically they can lead to connection between all of us, all of the members of Bnei Baruch together and that is why I think that there is no difference here between men and women and there is even a priority for women because they can do work, much more work than the men. They can be more connected between each other and that is how they lead to correction. So please do your work.

16. S. (26:28) A question about necessity. Is the necessity equal to all if I want to say this or the other wants something else is that the same to everyone?

R. Each one needs to aspire for their own necessity. They need to reach what they are drawn to and for them that will be correction and in that correction they will be included in the general world correction.

S. Can we ask the Creator, from the Creator of my necessity?

R. What do you need that it will be necessary for you? That is what you are lacking in order to lead to the correction of the world. So ask for it and of course you will receive it if it's truly right.

17. S. (27:44) I would like to say there is always a choice between the good or the bad choice in our connection. When we choose the good, we feel that it is pulling us on its own forward. Is that called Lishma?

R. If we wish goodness to everyone that is Lishma.

18. S. (28:56) What should be our approach in all of this new state that we are in now, in order to move on forward?

R. We need to now reach in practice, love of brothers, love of brothers. That I'm constantly thinking for the well-being of my friends and the entire world. And in that we will feel how we're coming closer to Lishma and to the general correction.

19. S. (30:00) Is faith above reason an intermediate state between Lo Lishma and Lishma and if so, is it virtually instantaneous, or is it a slow transition perhaps in phases?

R. It is a gradual process in stages.

20. S. (30:40) The women with us are very powerful. How can we support them and have the same force of connection that they have?

R. Try and take an example from them and realize it among the men. I have nothing else to say. There are groups of women that are much stronger than the groups of men and that is okay. There is nothing to be ashamed of. We need to take from them the example and to realize it among the men.

21. S. (31:52) As one man with one heart in the distance to Lishma, how are we relating as a world Kli, as individual tens as part of the world Kli, as one man with one heart connected and unified towards Lishma?

R. If we will care for the general connection and for our connection for all of the individual connections and all of the general connections we will succeed to truly be as one then we will reach the general correction. The general correction is that we will start discovering that the world which we exist in is the upper world according to the upper laws, and everything will simply develop and evolve in its true form.

22. S. (33:20) Friends in the ten can enter Lishma one by one. According to this, how can we enter Lishma for all, at the same time?

R. Each one that discovers love of others is rewarded with Lishma; each one. There doesn't need to be ten, or nothing; even one.

23. S. (34:54) My question is as follows. Some time ago you said you answered me when I was in Moscow that one should always examine, check if you are in Lishma or not in Lishma and then I arrive in Lithuania where everyone speaks Lithuanian. I'm jealous of them because they know at least two languages and they started to speak Russian for me to understand and I thought it was just like being in Lishma because I felt their heart, their openness. You said to think and scrutinize and I thought that they are in Lishma; in this state?

R. No doubt they will come closer to Lishma very quickly if that is what they are doing to someone, towards someone. Well done Lithuania.

24. S. (36:26) This is the question. First of all I need to care, to make sure that everyone will reach Lishma or that I will reach Lishma?

R. You first of all need to care for the others, otherwise it won't be towards Lishma.

25. S. (37:00) I wrote the question to continue, we hear from you answers to many questions and the answers are always connection, connection, connection and now when we are in practice trying to realize then we find out layer after layer there are a lot of scrutinies and emotional feelings out of the feeling what is connection; it is kind of development of revealing the Creator inside us. And we also heard that the Creator has many names. I wanted to know, can we say that this is an emotional development of us in the group and is that the revelation of the Creator between us?

R. Yes. This is how it will be.

S. (no Hebrew translation)

R. Unity is when you feel you are connected to one another and love is when you feel dependency, that you are dependent on one another and you really want to help each other to be one instead of the other in everything.

S. When the world Kli will enter Lishma will the world change?

R. (no Hebrew translation)

26. S. (39:00) In the article he is writing that a person needs to take care of the necessary things but he must also save the oppressed and every being in the world that needs salvation and benefits. What is every creation?

R. For each and everyone. Not even a friend in the group because we are already talking about the general correction.

27. S. (39:51) I wanted to share yesterday there was a mirror Congress in Azerbaijan and I participated in it and I really had tears coming down of gratitude for the experience I felt that we can truly cancel, annul all our knowledge, our rational thinking just to be the heel to the feet of our men so that they will be able to enter Lishma. It is a wonderful feeling in which one feels complete annulment and I wanted to thank, to express my gratitude that we started to feel these things that before we didn't even know these feelings.

R. Thank you to you too.

28. S. (41:02) When we were going through the sources there were some conditions to the work of Lo Lishma. There were four or five conditions and the truth is they scare me a little bit. These reasons, these conditions, are they essential for everyone or does everyone have his own conditions?

R. Each one could have their own.

29. S. (41:28) In the text as it's written, do we need to raise first MAN for the friend? She's asking in the text. It's written that first to reach Lishma, first one needs to think about themselves and then the public and in other cases we study that in order to reach Lishma first we need to raise a prayer for the friends and only then for myself. So is there a difference between the general public and the friends?

R. She first of all needs to take care of her own corrections so then she will have the ability to correct the others. That is actually the order. That is why she needs to care for her own correction to the extent she receives her own correction and she needs to care for the correction of the friends and from the friends even broader correction of the others.

30. S. (43:46) In this amazing convention there is a feeling that we're all in this one circle around the whole world and we are stretching, (no Hebrew translation)

R. That is what you're saying exactly, that the most important thing, this law of love your friend as yourself, is the most important, the most sublime and it will dominate the world. And the others that’s everyone; that is all of the people in the world.

S. What happened right now in this Congress after we did this Congress and became that the Creator is happy.

R. We will understand but the most important thing in the world is the connection between all of us: that everyone will understand this, will know, and if we're close to it or far, the connection to everyone to a single nation of all the world to one humanity that will be the complete correction of the world. And we are coming closer to it, and we are experiencing it with labor pains.

31. S. (45:40) Thank you for the lesson. Are we in the Lishma now?

R. On the border of going into Lishma.

S. Tell us please what else do we need to make this important step?

R. When you try to come closer to each other in heartly mode that everyone will beat in synchrony in the one that will all want to be in connection with one to the other and whatever the other one needs I will be able to give it, to provide it to him.

S. Tell us please in order to wish good to the others, is it important to know their desires?

R. Yes and no. In general we know what a person needs or wants. We all are similar to one another and all of the individual problems that we have they exist until we want to connect together as one body.

32. S. (47:15) What exactly do we receive when we are in bestowal? What do we receive from above to give?

R. Everything. If someone wants to receive in order to bestow he gets everything because he doesn't receive he's only giving.

33. S. (47:54) Such warmth in the heart. It's hard to imagine in the first day, in the first lesson of the convention, I went to sleep so I had strength for the Noon Lesson, and I had a dream that all of Bnei Baruch are hugging and dancing and it was crazy but I knew that this convention is going to be a great success. I wanted to ask, if I understood correctly that Lishma has a few levels; degrees?

R. Yes, there are a few levels in Lishma but it's not important for us right now not important.

34. S. (48:49) If we naturally have a need to help others, how do we turn it into Lishma to spirituality?

R. Only towards connection. More than that we don't need anything.

35. S. (49:35) Children are the future. Should we do some, perform some actions to educate them towards connection and if so what should we speak to them about in such an educational process?

R. Only towards connection without things that are sublime. You need to show them that connection is always the best. Whoever reaches, whoever can connect, he gets some kind of reward or a prize; to teach them how to connect to one another. That is what I recommend.

36. S. (51:05) How did women become such powerful groups and what do they do today differently?

R. It is an evolution, we are evolving and in this evolution there are changes. One to here and one there. Now is the time for women, that they are becoming stronger, they are connecting and they're helping us come out of Egypt; from this world to the world of Lishma.

S. Is there something that we can focus on that we did and that’s so good and we can help others?

R. Yes, you need to talk about it to teach, to disseminate.

37. S. (52:40) In this mirror Congress in St Petersburg, many different people gathered. Those who are studying for one month and those who have studied for decades and what should we be similar or different in our connection? How to build it correctly?

R. Nothing, try and be one whole. It's like in the family there are small kids, grown-ups, children, parents, but all in all, we're all of us together. Okay?

38. S. (54:00) We don't want to put off the entrance to Lishma until the next congress.. How can we, right now, all of us enter the heart?

R. We're talking about that every lesson. We're talking about this every lesson and also tomorrow we will talk about that and the day after. We will constantly keep advancing.

39. S. (54:53) We have many questions. We want to share our state. There is a state here, the kind of state that we wish to embrace the whole world, the whole world; everyone. We want to thank the Creator. Truly a great, special gratitude for you Rav, you brought us to a point where we feel, we see,we can include the whole world. So thank you, Le Chaim, Bnei Baruch.

R. Thank you very much.

40. S. (55:46) Tell me please how the strong connection between women and the big desire and the greatness of the Creator to pass that how do we do it correctly to pass it on to the men?

R. I don't know what to tell you. Women in general, understand how to influence men. You tell me you don't know? How can that be?

S. Prayer, request, tears it doesn't always work. What else can we do so that all the men, not only our men but the entire world Kli will feel this great desire of the women?

R. I don't know. I think that if women want, they can do with the the men whatever they want. Just don't neglect them, don't leave them, then everything will succeed. In truth men are weak in regards to the women. Men always feel themselves towards the woman like, a little bit like they feel towards the mother, in the depth of their soul they are slightly afraid of her; so try. So try and treat the men a little bit like they're a teacher and then you will see how you can influence them positively.

41. S. (57:40) We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful Congress. We passed it together like you said in the preparation, like the friend said in the preparation. It's not the last lesson; it is the first lesson. How can we increase, enhance and not to miss out what is in our hearts, like what we feel now in our hearts? How to multiply it and increase it everyday?

R. That's what we do, we connect, we will hold it in our mutual heart every single day; that is what we do. And every day we have two lessons and we can do it. And I will try to appear in front of you everyday and you in front of me and that's how we will advance.

S. To continue, you answered to a friend that the connection is connection, and love is dependency. How to realize connection and love and our work in dissemination especially after such a wonderful Congress?

R. Dissemination I can’t talk about now it's a very broad topic. We just need to tell everyone as much as we can.

42. S. (59:40) This Congress was the first Congress we attended as a group of ten and revealed the deficiency. We realize that we couldn't pray, we couldn't open our hearts, we want to enlarge this deficiency. We want to raise a common prayer from here. What do you suggest to us?

R. I recommend to connect. Everyone to everyone, all of us together, above languages, above times, above all differences that are between us. Because in spirituality there are no such differences, let us rise above all differences, connect there in our mutual heart and by that we will succeed to see ourselves in a world that is entirely Lishma. All the best to all of you. See you, you can stay and talk as much as you like. I am with you. A warm hug.
