Part 1:
The Time of The Giving of The Torah - Selected Excerpts from the Sources (As One man In One Heart. #8)
1. Rav’s Introduction: (0:17) Yes, this is actually what is required on our side. Of course, the Creator can help us to connect, and all the forces of connection and unity are in His Hands in his light. But it all depends upon our desire, on our deficiency. And so here each one shall help his friend. As much as we will show each other, and we will awaken each other in that each one of us does want to reach that. That we will all be connected to the extent that the Creator will be able to turn to us and arrange us to connect us. If we are drawn to that then we will receive help. And it is only His help that can establish us in the right way so we will be able to make the transition from this world to the Upper World, from the quality of reception to the quality of bestowal, to the feeling of the true reality and not the false one as we are now in in our present qualities.
This is actually the transition that we have to make this transition is called the reception of the Torah on our side, the giving of the Torah from above from the side of the Creator and all in all this is what we have to do this transition so that the Upper Force will influence us and we'll change our quality from reception to bestowal, from disconnection to connection. This is what stands before us and we need to think about it all the time. It's the most difficult thing and the easiest thing. It is difficult on the one hand because we are not capable of doing anything towards it. We cannot assist it. But it is easy if the Creator does it, that it happens in all of us and in each one of us the moment that we wanted. This is what we have to bring ourselves to. So only about this transition from in order to receive from our own nature to the Creator's nature, in order to bestow. We need to think only about how to make this transition and how to give the Creator the opportunity to perform this change in us. This is what we need to think about: that time, this state, our preparations, they are all directed towards that. So let's try, let's try to get into it and to go through this change.
2. S. (04:54) How to turn the difficult transition to an easy one?
R. To turn the difficult transition to an easy and live transition is possible only by all of us thinking about it. That we will connect our inclinations, our thoughts, our plans, our goals. That is that our whole future we will tie it to this transition from this connection to connection from reception to bestowal and that's it. The transition itself of course the Creator does it. He carries it out over us but it’s on the condition that we do think about it and this is the only thing that we think about and expect. So let's start reading and scrutinizing it. We are also in a time which is very suitable for this transition and let's hope that with all of our friends all over the world we will be able to put in forces and we will do it quickly.
Reading Excerpt 8. (06:40) “ And the people encamped as one man with one heart..”
3. R. (08:00) This means that I need to relate to the whole society, to the whole of humanity in the same way that I expect it from the Creator. That He will influence everyone, bestow to everyone, help everyone and that I am together with Him in the same deed, in the same effort to shift at least our great group to Lishma, to in order to bestow, to connection, to the force of bestowal to the next world. It doesn't matter how you call that state, what's most important is for us to feel that we are in that together with the Creator and we are asking and demanding and pulling him to that state that He will do it for us. Like a little child that pulls a grown up that he will do something for him because on his own he can't do it. This is how we need to depict ourselves, how we demand and ask. We turn to the Creator and expect of Him to make this correction for us that He will replace for us the force of reception with the force of bestowal. That's it. We need to check each and everyone whether his heart is whole with it. Does he want to be in that? Is this what he is demanding of the Creator? Is he drawn to it truly with all of his actions from morning to night and this is the only thing that is expecting out of every moment in his life?
4. S. (10:44) How can I expect in each and every moment in my life to change and enter the single authority? Is it a special desire that needs to happen?
R. By the person thinking about it and bringing himself back to this thought and constantly looking at it from different angles how can he be in that? How can he strengthen it? Eventually he begins to see that these things are things that we build, these states, we build them through the persistence in the thought and this is how he comes closer to them.
S. We should first think about entering the single authority or nullifying?
R. To enter the quality of the Creator or to annul before the Creator I wouldn't really distinguish between these two. It's a single action that I want to be adhered to the Creator that I want to be like Hm. I want to take part in the action like Him. You might say differently that you are drawn to adhesion with the Creator. There are many words for it but actually it is a single state. That I become similar to the Creator.
S. When I nullify myself towards the ten that means that I enter the single authority or is something missing here?
R. The fact that I want to get closer to the Creator, it forces me to annul before the ten because the ten is actually a projection, a copy of the Creator. However, in such a way that this exists already in our senses, within our perception and this is why if I want to touch the Creator, to come closer to Him to some extent, to begin to be connected to Him, to identify with Him. I can check that only through the ten because all of my depictions that I may depict to myself which are not related to the ten, this is just imagination and there is no truth to it and so I have to constantly be with the friends, inside of them, connected to them and all of my actions I have to depict them that I am doing them with the ten.
5. S. (14:31) You talked about persistence of thought. How can we get there? How can we really focus on that?
R. Also by being connected to the friends so each one shall help his friend so that all of their thoughts pass through me and my thoughts pass through them and then we are connected to each other. And from this interconnection we build a field which is the field of the group and inside this field we already feel how much we are connected with the Creator. We are close to Him or far away from Him and then we can direct ourselves and move in the right direction.
6. S. (15:55) They said they camped as one man in one heart. What is the state of camping?
R. Camping means that we check ourselves where are we and how we can advance onwards in each and every step that we have to stop camping. There are long cessations and short cessations which are only in order to replace our approach. We will learn more about what kind of changes we have along the way.
S. We also learn that every state has opposite counter states. What is the opposite state to camping?
R. The opposite state to camping or pausing is apparently movement.
S. What does it mean spiritually?
R. That we perform an action of connection which is intensified and by that we get closer to the Creator this is the movement when we don't quite know what to do and we have some doubts before us and thoughts and decisions then we are in a state of pause or camping there are pauses that are done on purpose in order to rest, it explains about that.
S. (17:50) Meaning a state of camping is a state where we scrutinize and then there is a state of movement? I don't understand the difference?
R. Well you are saying it correctly, a state of movement is when we operate, we come closer to each other, when we go forward towards our future spiritual state and the state of camping is when we rest, we don't know what to do, we scrutinize, we make a scrutiny in which direction we need to advance on and so on.
7. S. (18:41) Why does it happen to us right now?
R. Why do you mean precisely now?
S. That we better understand and attain that our entire work is really just to transition from in order to receive to in order to bestow, that this is the whole work and nothing else?
R. Because this is what is left for us to do.
S. I want to say that we learned many things before, our articles and Preface and the only work is just to reach altruism from our work?
R. This is our work, the work on ourselves in order to give the Creator an opportunity to shine on us with the reforming Light and then we rise from the intentions, from our relation to where we are from in order to receive to in order to bestow more and more.
S. Is there a special time that a person needs to discover that and we can't see it directly?
R. Yes, we learn that as well.
8. S. (20:25) This transition it's the middle line united from the two opposite forces and how do we learn to use this force?
R. Well, you are jumping too far ahead already to how do we use it after the transition from in order to receive to in order to bestow. How do we use the forces that are at our disposal so we will talk about that. But in the meantime it is not appropriate. but think about it, it is okay, so we will have a little bit of confusion on the way. It is allowed.
9. S. (21:31) We say the state of camping is a more focused state and the movement is more of a confused state?
R. No, these are simply two states and we need to be both in this and in that as much as possible in our scrutiny and in determining the required correction.
10. S. (22:03) Can I ask about the transition from in order to receive to in order to bestow? I heard you say that it is a difficult thing if a person tries to do it on his own and it is easy if he lets the Creator do it to him? What does it mean that we cause the Creator to make the transition to us?
R. That we do everything in order to give Him the opportunity to correct us that is to bring us closer to each other, the entire correction is in the closeness between us. This is what we have to do, first of all to understand and feel and determine this and yearn for it that the correction is in coming closer to one heart.
S. (22:55) This is work that we do on our part getting closer, that's our work?
R. Well, it's not that we can actually do this work but rather we need to scrutinize these states and prefer coming closer as a goal and is the most important thing.
S. (23:20) So in the transition process what is our work? Meaning what do we do that causes the Creator to do the work to us?
R. As much as we are capable of it bringing our hearts closer into one heart in which we then for certain will begin to discover the Creator the one Creator.
S. The action of bringing the hearts closer is it something that we can do?
R. As much as we are capable of it, to read about it, to talk about it, to try to feel it.
S. In practice the closeness of the hearts is brought by the Creator
R. The Creator performs all the operations.
S. What is this button that we push and the Creator does actions to?
R. This button is the prayer when we turn to Him and we demand and we ask and we pray that He will perform these actions on us that He will bring us closer and that He will incorporate us together as one man with one heart. We are not capable of that. All of the operations called corrections, all of these operations, they are all done by the Creator
S. Our ability to be in the prayer to Him, to make these actions to us, what does it depend on from everything we do that will be in a prayer towards Him and not just remain in actions between us. How do we add that prayer to our life constantly? Let's say for example we read something together or we are in the lesson we are thinking about bringing our hearts closer. How from actions that we do, we add this thing called prayer to the Creator that He will do it?
R. We need again and again to remember the purpose of creation. That we should all be together in adhesion with the Creator and realize that we are not capable of making any step forward towards that and nevertheless in order to move towards that we have to constantly have the force of the Creator that He will operate inside of us that He will operate inside all of us. That He will make us tighter together and closer to Him. This is actually the operation that we expect from Him.
S. That's clear so our ability to keep the Creator in the picture that he will really be our partner in every step what does it depend on because I see that working with the friends internally, externally, it's happening all the time but the ability to keep the Creator in the picture, I don't know how to hold on to that?
R. The ability to hold the Creator in the picture in the connection between us?
S. In the connection between us that He will do the actions upon us, that He will be our partner in everything that we do. How do we do it to make sure He's there?
R. Because you should constantly depict, denote within the group His force, His place, the beginning and the end of his action. we need to see how much you are actually advancing precisely through Him. You have to be like we talked about it yesterday. You have to be like a little child who is asking the grown-up to do something for him to help him and is truly insisting upon it and is not letting the grown up to let go of the action. He must be in that.
11. S. (28:45) You said that we have to long to be one heart. What does it mean?
R. One heart, it means that we have to feel ourselves connected and in that connection between us we discover the Creator as the One, Unique and Unified Force of the whole of reality that He includes within himself the whole of reality; He's the center of all of reality. And when we connect between us we have the possibility, we have the possibility to direct ourselves to the Center of reality, to the Creator. And all of us long through the connection between us to direct ourselves to the center.
S. (29:57) When we come to a ten meeting there is always some inner preparation that a person does and when he comes there's already some general stream that washes you. It is very difficult to hold on to these points that Rav directs us towards, to this one heart to long for this prayer. How does a person in this short half an hour that we have with the ten let's say which is also not that much with Rav's directions that you are always getting drowned in something and you always feel like you have missed something?
R. First of all I don't understand why half an hour- you can be in this your whole life. That's on the one hand, on the other hand, what else do we have to do here in this world? All of the other actions that we have are only as disturbances in that from them we need to create a background that upon this background we work on the connection between us and with the Creator all the rest are peripheral things, secondary things that I have to carry out but all in all what is precious for me is the connection between us and with the Creator.
S. How do you hold that as an upper envelope to everything that is happening to you in life?
R. I hold on to this direction because otherwise I have no general goal in life. no goal. But rather what am I living for? In order to reach a state where the Creator is in the center of life and I want to reach Him and everything else that is happening to me is all in all these external conditions upon which I have to reach the Creator.
S. So everything that happens to you in life is the Creator asking you how much do you want me?
R. Seemingly yes. He’s awakening all kinds of questions or discernments so that by looking at them, I clarify to myself how important is the goal of life for me, the Creator as the source of life etc.. I am actually constantly scrutinizing it. A person has nothing more to do in his life or he is disconnected and he is also scrutinizing these spiritual things but already in a corporeal garment and this is very far away from the true nearing.
S. So in the second state you describe how you make these transitions? How do you really hold on to it as the upper thing that this is your heart and you don't let the corporeal life to wash over you? because that's what we want, what we are longing for in all of our meetings and lessons but there's a difficulty in this perhaps, psychological transition or not but to make this the upper thing towards the rest of your life?
R. Well, each and every day a few times a day you have to go back to it and you will see that gradually you are kind of screwing one thing inside of the other your spiritual life inside of your corporeal life.
12. S. (34:13) Do we have hidden records that work within us from that state of Mount Sinai that we were in?
R. Of course we have them.
S. I begin to get a feeling that my friends are standing facing the mountain and they are doing this scrutiny inside all of the time and as if they are waiting for something they can't take this decision it's not their fault but we are all just around this mountain all the time. And this bestowal as an individual, how do I join the friends in this status and what are we supposed to do with them?
R. You should try to come closer to them so much so that inside of the connection between you, you will also feel the Upper Force. from the connection with them you need to connect with the Creator. The Creator should be revealed in the connection between you.
13. S. (36:15) How can we examine the result of our effort and prayer in our work?
R. We can check it, yes, but we cannot measure it. But the effort should be as much as possible when we have difficulty in connection, the magnitude of the resistance to connection upon each and every state according to that we can see that we are advancing.
14. S. (36:51) Is prayer without adhesion in the nature of the quality of the Creator in love of friends- can it be accepted?
R. Every prayer is accepted but the question is to which result does it bring us. It could be a prayer that brings us to distancing but in the feeling of the distancing we begin to work and we go back to connection etc. That is everything that we think and speak between us we ask for, we pray each and every thing, even the worst and the most opposite to negation, nevertheless it is heard and it is accepted.
15. S. (38:10) Once they all annulled their own authority does it mean that all of the friends in the ten no longer care for themselves?
R. They care for themselves in a spiritual sense that they want to grow in spirituality and not in corporeality and this is what is important.
S. What does it mean to annul one's own authority?
R. His egoistic authority that I do not want to use my ego and see in it any good results. I know that there cannot be any good results there. but rather only if I will shift to bestowal.
16. S. (39:04) What kind of help is sent to us from the Creator?
R. From the Creator we always get only attraction being drawn towards the purpose of creation in the good direction but sometimes we feel as a result of his actions we feel our states as bad in order for us to be able to get to know the evil in us, in order for us to be able to scrutinize the nothingness of our forces etc., but actually the Creator is always pulling us to the good.
17. S. (40:07) When the Creator is revealed in the ten does it mean that our actions that we are performing right now towards connection, they change? Or does He shine on what we are doing already and shows us how we are connected?
R. I don't quite understand this state when the Creator is already revealed in the ten, truly? Who else in the ten is revealed to the whole ten?
S. Right now we get the power to do actions in a different way because if He is revealed in the ten and it opens up for us the opening to do something that we couldn't do so far or He's showing us how what we did so far was already towards connection it was already in order to bestow to Him?
R. The Creator plays with all kinds of phenomena, with all kinds of results of what we did.
S. So if in every state the Creator can be revealed:as an argument and fight?
R. The Creator can do whatever He wants. We cannot in advance say under what conditions it's going to be like this or like that. So what does it mean to discover Him? To discover Him is to discover that everything comes from Him in whatever form it is, it is in the direction of the purpose of creation.
S. What is the feeling of the revelation? What does it give us that feeling of the revelation after let's say, there is this determination that everything comes from Him?
R. The feeling of the revelation is first of all the connection with the Creator. What does that mean? The connection with the Creator? That there is an upper force that is directing us.
S. This exists. We have it.
R. If this exists already, if you have it, then you have nothing to ask about.
S. Well, to a certain extent. I am asking what happens next on that? What happens differently so we can say that we have the revelation of the creator in the ten? What will happen differently now?
R. I don’t know. Whatever will happen, will happen. But this is what we need to reach, each time, the revelation of the Creator inside the ten.
S. Should we try to operate in different ways or only to detect how the Creator is already operating inside of us in the ten?
R. If you reach correct states they need to guide you onward and it's not that you ask of each and every step.
18. S. (43:15) In what moment does a person despair of his own forces up to Mount Sinai opposite me so it will be a strong despair?
R. We need to work on that in order to get closer to such a state like Mount Sinai where you discover your internality as hatred towards everyone and you see that without you going through this mountain, rising above it, you don't have a next stage, something else that you have to go through it. This is the mountain of Sinai. Then you understand that only with the Upper Force with whom you are only engaging with Him that is on the one hand and also only with this single discernment that you have inside you which is Moses you can climb above Mount Sinai and there too, establish your connection, your contact with the Creator.
19. S. (44:55) In the ten each of us has his own thoughts after the correction all of these many desires to receive will become the only thought of giving?
R. Of course, after the correction all the thoughts of reception will turn into bestowal.
20. S. (45:40) What is the request that we need to ask from the ten to raise the responsibility of each member to reveal the Creator please?
R. It's precisely like you are saying. that we want to support each other in order to raise each one above himself towards the friends and feel the friends that they are above him and this is how we elevate the whole group to a higher degree.
21. S. (46:33) Any spiritual actions that we make in the beginning we have to overcome the ego. Will it always be this way and it will change, it will end?
R. All of our actions are in transforming our ego to bestowal, bestowing in order to bestow and then receiving in order to bestow.
22. S. (47:17) Will I come to search for a state of implementation where I will actually feel them living inside of the Creator so that by raising the importance I will demand from the Creator to have a common connection with of all of us, us with him and me with the friends?
R. Want it, long for it, ask for it, talk to the friends about it and then see whether it is possible. Is that even possible to achieve or not?
23. S. (48:10) I feel that in every desire that is revealed we pause; we camp. If so, how is it possible to achieve the correct analysis, the correct scrutiny to overcome and get power to get the force from the Creator?
R. You turn to the Creator; simply. you turn to the Creator but preferably not on your own rather with the friends, that's the whole problem. To each and every one here all kinds of thoughts, desires, goals and so forth but the problem is when a person remains on his own he has to be connected to the ten and to try to compose, assemble from the ten a group that is collectively asking and then there will be no problem you will get an answer right away.
24. S. (49:33) You talked before about a state where the Creator is in the center of our life. What does such a life look like? What does it look like when the Creator is in the center of our life?
R. How does life look like with the Creator at the center? That's all of our thoughts and desires are felt as common, shared between us and we are like one man in one heart and there's no differences between us, disparities, it's a very good feeling. And other than that, our force, our power, then becomes unified and great.
25. S. (50:48) The moment when we do the transitions is it the same moment that we build the Creator?
R. At that moment we build the Creator, yes we add to his construction within us to the point that he fulfills our entire heart.
26. S. (51:30) Do we demand that Torah in order to bestow or do we demand the Torah with the thought that we are already to bestow and now we can receive the Torah?
R. Both this and that almost together. It's not that way, it's either way, demand forces and corrections to our desires or we already with our corrected desires wish to continue and bestow to the Creator.
Reading excerpt nine (52:39) “Since the day when Israel were in the world..”
27. R. (53:03) From the moment that Israel, since the day when Israel were in the world, they were not in one heart, in one desire before the Creator as on that day when they stood at Mount Sinai, so this is the highest status that they were both close between themselves and with the Creator.
28. S. (53:35) From the occasion of the mount of Sinai which is the greatest revelation of hatred is also the greatest nearing to the Creator?
R. That is a correction, where there is the greatest darkness there can be the greatest light. Think about it, don't run.
29. S. (54:00) The occasion of Mount Sinai is it a greater status than the temple, than the connection of when they were in the state of the temple?
R. In terms of the Kelim, certainly. In terms of the fulfillment, lights, attainment then it is smaller. It all depends on the relationship between light and vessels, the effort that the people make.
Reading Excerpt 10 (54:40) “And they shall all become one Society..”
30. S. (55:50) I heard Rav say that I need to screw this life into the spiritual life. What is this act of screwing like a screwdriver this light into the spiritual light?
R. Connection. That I exist in the corporeal life and along with it I am in the spiritual life and these two forms of life connect us as one.
31. S. (56:20) If the friend is busy with corporeal things he can't make a living and I have to find a connection with the Creator through his desire, what should I ask for for the spiritual connection of the friend with the Creator?
R. That the Creator will help; that the Creator will help. Meaning understand how to connect my corporeal and spiritual life together.
32. S. (56:50) You are encouraging us to have a dialogue with the Creator every day. Should I include my ten in this process? How do I do it?
R. If we are talking about the Creator then certainly we are talking about the ten. Alone I have no connection with the Creator. We should already understand that first, as it is written, from love of the created beings to love of the Creator. I first have to connect to the ten as much as I can in a partial way, in some way. Then with the Creator because I don't perceive the Creator, grasp the Creator without describing the place, depicting the place where He is in and that is the ten.
33. S. (57:55) Are the specific ways in which the unity and the common desire, what are the specific ways in which the common desire was expressed on that day that they stood before Mount Sinai?
R. The day of giving of the Torah is a special day where all the desires reach the state where they can be connected between them and adding on to each other in a way that ultimately what becomes revealed is a single force out of them which is the force of bestowal and love. The beginning of the appearance of the force of bestowal and love that is called the giving of the Torah.
34. S. (58:58) What is the purpose of the kabbalists who give us the example upon Mount Sinai? Do they give us the example so that we will learn what happened to the people of Israel and we have to reach a new degree in the connection between us? What is their purpose of giving us this example of Mount Sinai?
R. The goal is to rise above the will to receive to the will to bestow and all of us together to cling to the Creator.
35. S. (59:48) What exactly drives us, what moves us, what pressures us to be able to use this camping, this parking, this internalization, to really want to make this transition?
R. When we feel that we transition from one state to another state and we cannot do this transition on the way, rather it requires us to stop, to prepare, to consider and to process a new plan, and then we go forward that is what it is called camping.
S. What pressure is felt there? How can we come to this to use this sort of looks like meditation or scrutiny? We feel so much pressure that we come to movement that we want to overcome our nature. What is the trigger point?
R. The point in the heart There is nothing else here. The point in the heart is pushing us to reach the acquaintance of the Creator to discover him. Man's heart demands Torah, demands the Creator, and that is what motivates the person. the heart wants Torah.
36. S. (1:02:20) If they did not have the Torah yet were they able to aim their intention towards it if they did not have a desire for it?
R. This is from the previous preparation that they had still from Babylon they advance from the state of Babylon and then they came to the state of Mount Sinai. But look at how many events took place between the state of Babylon with Abraham and the state of Mount Sinai with Moses. It is a very long path that they have been on. We do not really sense what we are going through but we also going through something of that sort on our degree.
37. S. (01:04:10) How can we overcome the increasing resistance to connection?
R. That is not resistance yet compared to what will be. And, the main thing for us is to put us into a state of habit becomes second nature and what is good about resistance and that we do all kinds of exercises and connections and agreements as Rabash writes. And so, that will help us be in all kinds of connected states and not escape. so that is our work. That is how we build the kli.
S. Is there a clear recognition of the ego is growing? it's a form of hatred and you really would rather give up and you rather be dead that they continue. How do you face that?
R. Keep going. keep going in order to see these points that you are in as very important points on top of which you later build your higher degrees.
38. S. (01:06:50) I heard you say that the opportunity is now. these are very special times. so what is the kind of effort is required of us in order to succeed?
R. Only to connect between us in the direction of the Creator. That is all. That we we wish to be connected so as to get closer to the Creator.
39. S. (01:08:07) Can you describe to us maybe the point in the heart, Moses going up to Mount Sinai, I can't manage to feel it. Can you describe it in a different way maybe like a baby that comes that is born? how else can we describe it?
R. Don't make for yourself all kinds of false images. just accepted the way it is written.
S. When the point in the heart brings you to the lesson, the ten, sometimes you don't want to do things because the point of the heart pulls you. That we understand. But what does it mean to climb up the mountain?
R. To climb up the mountain means that you have some disturbances in front of you and you nevertheless transcend them.
S. And I feel that I am climbing the mountain?
R. I don't want to speak in this matter because then I'm putting everyone into some corporeal actions. And to you I recommend not to speak that way at least towards everyone.
Excerpt #11 (01:09:50) “Usually if someone takes a pile of branches can he break them all at once..” twice
40. S. (01:12:20) When they come out of Egypt there's still no such connection “as a single bundle”?
R. Why do you ask this way?
S. Because in what we read it says that Israel will not be redeemed until they're as “one bundle,” “one society” - so when they came out of Egypt it was already redemption right?
R. Let's say it was stages of redemption of course, that they would be connected somewhat.
S. I am simply trying to scrutinize whether each time we discover a greater force of evil so that it is a mountain on the occasion of Mt. Sinai? They came out because they disconnected from the ego but….
R. Where did they disconnect from the ego?
S. In the exodus from Egypt.
R. No, not yet.
S. If they did not disconnect from ego how did they come out of Egypt?
R. It’s an exit, but it depends on from what degree, what phase, what root, one, two, three, four.
S. So it simply matter of degrees?
R. Of course it is all degrees.
S. But in essence it's the same work?
R. Yes. to rise above the ego. that appears at that time.
S. So, until they reached the state of Mt. Sinai they didn't disconnect from the ego finally completely?
R. Finally, no. Of course not. How? Then there wouldn’t be any Mt Sinai in front of Moses and all the others.
S. So somehow each one was still connected with his ego?
R. Of course! How did it happen when he broke the tablets?
41. S. (01:14:32) So in the Exodus from Egypt will learn that they simply run away from their ego, no matter where, so long as they run away. Although they discover on the occasion of Mt Sinai that suddenly becomes a mountain, every day we pray, we ask, we say that we want to be in bestowal. How can we discover something so that this request becomes like a mountain, something which is huge?
R. It appears from above. by the light that reforms they discover the ego the will to receive that they are still in.
S. They were not aware of it before when they ran out of Egypt? They ran out from Pharoah? Maybe for the wrong reasons, that’s what I’m trying to understand. They ran away from something that was threatening them. What happens on the occasion of Mt Sinai? Here too, they want to run away from the ego or is it something else? I mean it’s described as a mountain, something they have to accept or it will be their death. What is this new decision, this new discernment that there is in the occasion of Mt Sinai?
R. We have not learned that exactly but before Mount Sinai what was really revealed to them was a new desire where they felt a hatred instead of the connection that they attained in the meantime.
42. S. (01:16:10) This excerpt gives us the feeling that the only thing we have to ask for is the unity of the friends, that we will have connection because otherwise….
R. Everything is only executed there.
S. Before a person can extract a prayer, or a request, he needs to have the feeling that he did the maximum, everything in his ability, otherwise it’s not a true prayer. And he sees in everything that if he did not make efforts then he can’t ask for help if he is not certain that he did everything in his ability. So how can I be certain that I did everything in my ability to care for the unity of the ten, the unity of the friends, of the world, because there will never be able to be a true prayer if I did not do the max? On the other hand I don’t have strength to do the max if I don’t get help.
R. This is temporary. Now it's happening this way, later it will happen differently, there are times for this, times for that.
S. As much as we engage in the study, the importance of connection, to that extent you feel yourself even worse if you're true with yourself and you understand that you need help from the Creator from the friends and you also feel that you're not worthy, not for the request, not for the help, so basically feel stuck?
R. Yes, there are such states as well.
S. How do you come out of them?
R. You don't want to come out of that state. It's good to be in-between the states.
S. What to wait for despair? Wait for the desire to run away what?
R. One should do all kinds of actions corporal and above them until you connect to everyone, to the 10 and this gives you a new force always. otherwise you will not be able to move on to new states. you will run around in your own circle all the time.
43. S (01:18:45) What does it mean to receive the face of the Divinity of the Shekinah in the ten?
R. To receive the face of the Shekinah? It depends on what degree we are talking about. But usually we're talking about NRNHY. NRNHY is revealed in all the vessels but this may be in all kinds of coarseness, root 1 2 3 4.
44. S. (01:19:30) Most of the people in the world feel loneliness in one way or another. Now we have the ten and a lot of people in the world would be willing to cut off their legs and hands to have this group. How can we take this good thing and raise something spiritual from something physical? We’re sitting together having meals, supporting each other, all these basic things that we do on the level of this world. how can we truly take it and lift it to a different level? How do we come out of being stuck in this world and rise together in the ten to the degree that we need to be in, to the degree of humans?
R. This only happens through study and mutual actions.
S. We do Rav, so what's next.
R. So what's next? there's no next. Next, there is a prayer. A prayer. And it will help us, elevate us, it will bring us closer to the Creator. coming closer to the Creator can only be if we come closer between us.
S. If there was one thing that you could say, put on the salt and pepper, what is the salt and pepper, the next spiritual degree. We sat together in the meal, we ate hummus, we cried together, what is next?
R. You need to commit yourself to each other that you will help each other in the spiritual ascent. That is it. That is basically the commitment that you have to attain that at Mount Sinai.
45. S. (01:21:59) The feeling is that we are familiar, we are all in one boat here, we all want to sail to the same goal, but it turns out that each one sails according to their own feeling.
R. That is correct.
S. You understand the problem? So how can we row together? We have the tools, the vessel we have the books, the Rav, everything. but we are lacking the togetherness, so?
R. Well what do you recommend?
S. I don't know. I hear, I don't know what to say, it is like a feeling that I hear a question, I hear a complaint.
R. We are doing everything. I don't have anything to add. I will just repeat the same words that I said a thousand times.
S. We're not turning to you but to us, how do we unite everything into one prayer? That everything we learned, everything that we went through, the feeling of satiation, to feel the true reality like you said, there's no other reality, everything outside is like a bluff is a lie. So how do we break through?
R. Think more about it. Talk about it. but certainly everything is in our hands except the action that has to reach from everyone to each one from everyone to become one.
