Part 1:

Faith Above Reason - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. #35

1.Rav’s Introduction: Yes, we are continuing with our efforts to feel, to understand, to grasp, to somehow locate what does it mean faith above reason. So let us move on to the next excerpt.

Excerpt #35 (00:49)

2. R. (02:26) Yes, this is how we actually need to advance to Lishma, for her sake that after we understand that  rather what I want is only one thing, help from above, to reach a state where I understand that my future depends only on how much I will get from above the force of bestowal, it is impossible to reach any nearing, any identification with the Creator, but only on the condition that we get a force from above, because within us there is no advice, there is no beginning for it, nothing. Then we have to, well, it is unconditional surrender, meaning, I have to get help from above, against my ego, against my desire, that always pulls me in all kinds of different directions. That I will be incorporated in the force of bestowal, and even though this approach and this request, this disposition, are also egoistic, since I have not yet received anything from this bestowal so even the desire for bestowing it is also egoistic.

Nevertheless, this is called from Lo Lishma, we come to Lishma that this is how we begin the path in spirituality, that we want to receive Lishma, even though it is against the will to receive, and through that we advance. There are many things in it that we cannot yet explain, we do not have these feelings, we also do not have the words for it. This transition is a very special transition that everything is built in such a way that it comes to us from the shattering, and in the shattering, all the desires, the thoughts, the intentions, they all mingle with each other. Therefore, when we discover this mixture within us, and we do not quite know what to do and how, but nevertheless we perform certain actions, and by that we awaken the upper light. Then the upper light that shines on all of the problems and doubts, misunderstandings, then we start to sort it out, meaning the Creator sorts it out, and out of that we understand what is happening to us. Therefore, what we need now is only to come closer to the demand that the Creator must give us some beginning in order to bestow in Lishma, and here certainly everything depends on the connection between us, on how much we will be impressed by the friends, and through them we will receive from the Creator that feeling of what does it mean in order to bestow, what does it mean Lishma, (for her sake).

3. S. (06:42) Concerning Lishma for her sake, it is written in the article that we have to put to death the covenants of ourselves and care about the benefit of the Creator. What does it mean to care for the benefit of the Creator?

R. I can give you an example from this world: if a mother, a woman that has a baby, and the baby, on one hand she feels that he's connected to her, but the baby doesn't feel that he's connected to her that much, and so it turns out that he cries, he wants something, and the mother feels his desire several times more over than what he feels, and he obligates her more than what he obligates it. Then she jumps out of it, she leaves anything else in order to serve him as much as possible, that is his desire becomes higher than her desire. His desire determines all of the actions, all the thoughts, all the dispositions, everything that she has. The baby now activates her instead of her desire, which was always activating the woman, but now no, now it is only the desire of the newborn, of the baby, it now activates the mother. It is a clear example. This is how we should try to reach a state where the greatness of the Creator, just like a baby towards the mother will activate us, and we will work only for that sake, for that purpose.

S. This example of the mother and also with respect to what is written, to see only to the benefit of the Creator. Do we have to feel the Creator?

R. Know if you will discover Him then you will have no problem. It will not be above your reason; it will be within your reason. It is just like the woman and the baby. Why doesn't she, by that, become holy and within faith above reason? Because it is within reason. The baby’s desire for her becomes greater than her desire. This is why she does not become spiritual by that; her attitude to the baby it is not with faith above reason, but rather, it is within the desire. We respect this desire, but really everyone has that, even animals. This belongs to the animate degree, not to the degree of Adam, one who is similar to the Creator. Whereas faith above reason, what we are talking about that we want to develop, that is already a feeling of true bestowal, which is above reason, in spite of the reason. Therefore, it does not come to us; we cannot find it within us. But rather here there is a special relation between us and the group, and the Creator. So that through our relations in the group, we can reach a state where the Creator, the Upper Force, will be more important for us than ourselves. It is actually more than us, it is within ourselves. So, simply this will be the most important thing for me, more and more, and more. This is how we will advance to states where out of all of the disturbances, we will reach a state where the Creator will be the most important. Imagine to yourself that there is some force that you begin to feel, that it is more important for you than you, yourselves. That is it, this all in all is considered that you are overcoming the small will to receive that we have within us for the time being.

4. S. (12:03) What is the meaning of mingling in spirituality? It is written that they came incorporated in spirituality. What does that mean? What does it mean in the text that the desires become incorporated? How can we interpret incorporation in the spiritual state?

R. The spiritual state, the desires, even though each and every desire is different from the other, they all reinforce each. They strengthen and reinforce each other; I can explain more than that right now. We will feel this phenomenon, then we will be able to say what is going on here. There are harmonies here, special frequencies between us, that we establish. It is already like we say about the degrees of the desire one, two, three, four, or Aleph, Bet, Gimel, Dalet. This is how in our desires we also connect. We will learn that later, the most important for us now is to start to somehow imagine ourselves, how do we begin to get this quality of faith above reason.

5. S. (14:14) The will to receive asks him why you want to put him to death and why do you want to put me to death and the person has no choice but to turn to the Creator. What is the reason he is turning to the Creator, what does he tell the Creator that he wants to put to death, the will to receive, so that the Creator really puts the will to receive to death?

R. Because through this study we learn this every day, every morning, am I speaking with the friends, and I am reading all kinds of excerpts. One begins to understand that he has this world in which he exists on the animate degree, as a beast, and the spiritual world, and there is a very special very special barrier here so that crossing it is considered coming out of the vessels of reception and to acquire vessels of bestowal. Acquiring the vessels of bestowing, one can do it only by annulling himself. Then if one continues in that then he comes closer and he overcomes, otherwise well one is born a beast and he dies a beast.

S. The question is the prayer has to be real for the Creator?

R. True, well as much as the Creator understands everything, the force of bestowal that establishes, builds, and creates all of our states and ourselves with all of our qualities, He understands everything, He feels everything. Do you not think that we can do or think or feel something that does not exist and is not received in the Creator, that we exist in Him?

S. So what is the prayer to put to death the will to receive that is received in the Creator?

R. The prayer expresses your desire not what is happening but rather what you would have liked. So really if you do not really like it but you imagine it, even if you are envious of something, in envy, something bad, however you want it to happen. Therefore this is how you advance. The Creator first of all he includes all of the thoughts and desires of each one and everyone together, also what becomes clear in each and every one in all of us together, in each and every moment, it all exists and is felt within this reality which is called the Creator.

6. S. (17:27) Why does he write here that the desire to bestow is second nature?

R. Because before that we exist in a single nature, in the nature of the will to receive only. When we reach the will to bestow it becomes clear to us that we have reached a second nature.

S. But, a second nature sounds like a habit. Because nature is a habit so does the will to bestow become a habit?

R. In order to reach the will to bestow we have to perform exercises. Exercise after exercise, after exercise we try like little children. We perform all kinds of actions and out of these actions, that if we do not despair, it is like children who do not despair, they do not get tired and do it and they do it and they do it. You can see that the child does the same thing over and over again, when does he stop doing it, when he grows out of that state. He moves on to a new state, he wants something else, he throws away whatever he had and now he plays with something new. This is how we should also do it.

7. S. (19:14) What is it about the inspiration from the friends that brings us closer to Lishma, to for her sake?

R. Mostly it is envy, lust, and honor, as it says envy, lust and honor bring a person out of this world, that we need to be impressed by the friends, we need to be impressed by their greater will to receive, by the efforts that they make. We have to warm ourselves up in such a way through envy. Mostly through envy. I am envious of them that they are great, that they are not lazy like me, that they know how to determine times for the study, for meetings, for each and everything and I actually feel myself that I am the worst of them. As Rabash, writes that I am ashamed of my petty acts, and this is how a person will advance. Envy is something truly great. It is in the first-place envy, lust and honor that help us to come out of our present state and reach a higher state.

S. How do we become envious of friends who are more introverted, not those who are extroverted and say everything, but those who are an introvert?

R. You should envy that he is an introvert, this is according to his nature the Creator created him. None of us plays because he decided to play or act in this way, that does not happen on our path. We are not capable of acting for years in some way but rather each one is occupied with his internal state, as much as he is able to overcome, as much as he is able to advance, and he does not have time for playing games towards others. Therefore when I look at them, I pretty much see their nature, their inner nature which is the person. Even though I in my ego do not justify him and I do not like what he has, I would truly take each and every one of the friends of my friends in the ten, and I would arrange him with a different character and a different behavior and everything. However, by that I just want to tell the Creator that I disagree with what he did in the world. So we need to accept it differently that whatever there is. This is ideal. The Creator made it so and he made it so for me and I need to accept it and be grateful to him, to love each and every one because this is how the Creator has established him. Each and every friend he established him like that before me so that specifically by that I will approach him with love. Each one by that I reach the love of the Creator. Because he is the one who establishes each and every friend. So if I come closer to love towards each and every friend, to that extent I come closer to loving the Creator this is called from the love of the people to the love of the Creator.

S. This transition, how does envy of the ideal qualities of the friend bring me closer to the quality of bestowal?

R. Very simple, I need to be envious of him and to realize that the fact that I, how should I put it, I have many thoughts here, this is something that is very central. The fact that I am envious of the friend could distance me or attach me to him, it depends on how I position myself. If the friend is greater than I want to be adhered to him, I want to learn from him. If the friend is lower, then I run away from him. The most important thing is that I need to see these things that they are standing as the Creator’s presentation, his display before me, the Creator simply tells me if you will find a way, if you will adhere to them then you will adhere to me. If you cannot adhere to them, turn to me and I will make it so for you. Meaning you should always have before you a reason for how to turn to me. So that is it, so I put the friends before you and you should imagine yourself towards them as towards me, that is what the Creator says and ask of me. I will make all the changes so that you will be able to come closer to them. If you cannot adhere to them, turn to me and I will make it so for you.

8. S. () You spoke about frequencies in the ten, do we need to examine the power of our nearing to the Creator by those frequencies on a level of still, vegetative, animate and speaking when the highest degree is the speaking which does not let me sleep?

R. Yes.

9. S. (25:53) How can we identify if we are truly working towards bestowal or reception?

R. You need to see whether you accept what the friends say, do what they speak, or not. Here is precisely the place of the test. This is your test. How do you relate to them as a means for adhesion with the Creator? If the person is a great egoist, then it is very difficult for him all together to digest this thing, that coming closer to others, is your connection to come in closer to the Creator. He does not understand it because it is not included in his emotion, he is so disconnected from others that he only feels himself. All of those means that we are told that we have to come closer to the friends and build the group, but he does not accept it. He accepts it in an organizational form, that we need to come closer to somehow position ourselves, but it is not that we can see in others, in people in general, in the whole of humanity, a springboard towards the Creator. That the person does not understand. If he is a true egoist then he does not relate it, he cannot relate these two things.

We have such people among us more and more because we have grown over our whole development, during our evolution, when we grew into great desires to receive, they are truly standing opposite the Creator. Therefore the connection between us appears very difficult, very difficult. We today cannot have connections, in the family, in relationships between couples, in the relationship between parents and children, between nations in general on the still, vegetative and animate. More and more out of the great will to receive that is increasing in each one of us, we lose completely the connections that we had once. Once there was a family and the family felt itself, parents, children, all kinds of people who join the family, it was like a small extended family or a small village. Nowadays we do not have such a thing anymore.

10. S. (29:41) What can I do in a state that the demon inside me hates the friends, full of anger towards the friends, wants to kill friends, cannot stand to see their faces. I am so weak against this broken vessel inside of me, and it seems impossible to annul before them, what can I do against this devil inside of me?

R. If this is how you feel then you are already in an advanced state, and all that is left for you is just to determine unequivocally, I want to correct my relation to the friends because through them I advance towards the Creator or not. If I do, then I turn to the Creator so he will do it for me. He created the evil inclination he gives us the upper light, the upper force from above which is called the spice of Torah, and this is how we become witnesses of the correction of our ego, the evil inclination. Then with that corrected evil inclination that has become the good inclination, to that extent we begin to discover the Creator. In the same coarseness that we felt before that it was distancing you, you will begin to feel that it is bringing you closer to others and within the others you will discover the Creator. That is it, so it is very nice, you are advancing very nicely. Without hatred it is impossible for us to reach love.

11. S. (31:56) If we are talking about a physical problem, when a friend cannot come often to the lessons, and most of the time he is quiet and switches off the camera, is there room for work here to love that friend?

R. Look, we need to try as much as possible to tolerate it. We say the following if he does not spoil things or corrupt things he can stay. But if he is truly harming the connection between us then we have to expel him. This is the rule. Try. Nevertheless patiently give it an example of how you have good relations you have between you, and you will see how he, when he relates to you negatively, how much by that he may be helping you. He is giving you a negative example, and you, opposite that, can be even more in addition with each other and in your appeal to the Creator.

12. S. (33:39) I am thinking yes, I can get very aggravated sometimes in the ten, but I am wondering do I have to come to a state of hate, I do not know if I can do that and if that is what I have to do I will look for it?

R. That also is not good because hatred and love we are talking about clear relations, close short relations. If you do not have love and if you do not have hatred then it is very difficult for us to work with this because you do not have emotions, you do not have clear inputs. So keep going and you will see how much this will bring you to advancement. Through hatred and love then you will truly be between this and that, you will exist there.

13. S. (35:04) From where do we receive the confidence to go through this process and not fall midway and also maybe we can connect it to how does envy give us confidence, what is the right approach to envy?

R. We get confidence only out of us being connected to the Creator, you have no other place, no other source from which you can get confidence. There is no such thing, where else? Who is the source of creation, where do all the sources come from, the negative ones and also the positive ones? It all comes from the upper force. That is it.

S. Where in our reality do we receive the…?

R. You exist in a reality which is called the maker of light and the Creator of darkness, that both the light in the darkness come from the Creator and you should try from both of these states to be connected to him.

14. S. (36:21) How does a person come to recognize that he exhausted his strength, and he has to ask the Creator for help because the will to receive does not want to put itself to death in its domain, authority?

R. That's a sign that we have not reached the end yet, however one tries and tries to reach, truly to invest himself in it, he very quickly comes to a state where he does not have any more forces and where should he turn? Only to the Creator. He discovers that he is helpless, however it is through connection in the ten, in the group.

15. S. (37:13) It says that the body resists with all of its might since the body argues why do you want to put me to death in all of my domain, so the question is how do we reach a state where we can see that the body is actually resisting it? Usually it is difficult to see it and feel it because it seems that my body and myself are actually in awakening?

R. If I am awakening then I should be in an awakening, I should be connected to my friends, and to constantly work with them as one man with one heart and reveal the Creator between us. As it is written, and then we are on the way, but if we discover how incapable we are, how we do not want to, and how we are not even directed towards each other, then I come to a state where I need the Creator. I need the Creator.

16. S. (38:21) There are three images in this excerpt, the body, the group, the Creator, how does the group participate in what is described in the excerpt? There are three actors in this excerpt, the will to receive, the person and the Creator. Where is the group here, how does the ten participate in this?

R. But the will to receive and the person we are talking about becomes clarified in the group, and the Creator also is clarified in the group. All those things to begin with do not exist. Man is one who wants to be similar to the Creator. The Creator is what is revealed within the group. So it turns out that I have no other work but to locate my relation, my attitude and then I become Adam, one person in the group and to the extent of my connection with them I come to my connection with the Creator.

17. S. (39:55) Is faith above reason the point of the freedom of choice, to be above the will to receive?

R. Faith above reason is a point that is free from the will to receive. It determines from above the will to receive, what it wants to be, this is called being a free nation. It is in our land, in our desire. That is the point, which is our point of choice. Why do we need it? If I am not free from my will to receive, I will not be able to be adhered to the Creator even as an embryo and for, who am I, for what am I? I have no reality then. I am just for my will to receive that is governed by the ego from every direction.

18. S. (41:10) If I do not feel the desires of my friends in the ten is it because I am not connected? What can I do in order to improve it and be incorporated with them?

R. It is hard work, but I first have to decide that everything I had so far was happening within the will to receive. I do not want, do not agree to be in it anymore, in my will to receive. Rather I want to rise above it. So then here is where the group, basically that is where it should help me out, rise above it, rise above my will to receive.

19. S. (42:13) Should I correct and aim myself, so I am envious of the common desire of my friends or is it enough to be envious of one specific friend?

R. One specific friend who is also of all my friends and of the world Kli. I have to find how to envy them. Let us say now I look, I am looking at the women's vessel and I see according to their eyes, according to how they look, how their gazes, how much they want to know and feel and to come closer to those values we are talking about. When I look at them, I actually penetrate through their eyes into their hearts, and I discover in each and every heart this disposition, this propensity to reveal the Creator. It is not important if it is the hearts of man, or women, the envelope may be different of a man and a woman, but the internality of the heart, there are no differences in it.

20. S. (43:47) What do we do besides prayer when you feel nothing, zero, no emotions towards the friends?

R. It is good. Then at least you have the right direction. I do not feel anything towards them, to me they are like a wall then I have where to begin. From this feeling where I want, not even to forget about them, you begin to measure from here onward how can I change myself and advance towards them some more? So that this wall will become like a barrier, I have to cross and connect with them, and they are behind the wall.

21. S. (44:48) Should I see my ten as my baby or as my mother?

R. As both. Both as a baby and as a mother, very nice if she says this.

Excerpt 36 (45:20)

22. R. (46:55) In other words, we see that after everything we say the main thing is to turn to the Creator as the source of all the disturbances, help, the support, and he wants you to be connected by this to him. That is why he is giving you all kinds of states for and against. So that by through these disturbances you will connect to him more and more. Until you achieve adhesion in connecting to him is through our request and adhesion with him is by receiving his qualities through our requests. These qualities we receive one at a time from the Creator, and each time we receive it, gradually each quality we receive it for and against as an advantage from the light through the darkness. So anyone who is greater than his friend, his inclination is greater than him, because we receive an intensification of the ego and each and every manner. After that, from it, we also receive help, and this is how we approach. There is nothing you can do. This is the way.

23. S. (48:37) Where can a person know if he is praying correctly?

R. How can you know? Above reason. You see what he writes here about everyone to pray and to pray and to pray, meaning to turn to the Creator every time from new states. Try to be sensitive to each and every state, that there is not a moment, as with us, that the clock ticks. Do you feel a difference that the clock ticks in those seconds your feelings every time it ticks? Every second you feel yourself in a different state and from every state, which becomes different, it changes in you, you turn to the Creator and pray and ask for closeness, adhesion for help.

S. So it turns out that the prayer changes every moment?

R. Every moment of course yes if it does not change then it is not turning to him. You cannot keep saying the same thing to the Creator, you constantly have to scrutinize and scrutinize your for and against and in what way, how you stand compared to him and what you want to happen. Every single thing awakens in you many, many feelings, and the necessity to connect.

24. S. (50:23) So the complete prayer we can say that we should wait until we are above reason, until the Creator will keep our prayer and will give us an answer for it?

R. You will get an answer, you always get an answer, there is no such thing as the Creator not answering, we are just not noticing his answer. But it comes automatically because the good that does good does not have to think whether to give you or not give you the way we do it. The Creator's heart, if you can put it this way, is open and we immediately get an answer. In the best way, in the absolute way from his desire to bestow, which is what he is only.

 Excerpt 37 (51:35) Twice

25. (54:32) Rav reads When one sees that after all the exertions, he sees that he cannot emerge from the governance of the will to receive for himself, which most of us are like that for now, then he sees within reason that only the Creator can help him. It follows that what is written, man's inclination overcomes him every day and we're not for the help of the Creator, he wouldn't be able to overcome it, he does not need to believe in this above reason, the way ordinary workers of the Creator who observe Torah and Mitzvah believe in their belief above reason quote-unquote so to speak, that this is so, that the Creator helps them. Rather those people who want to work in order to bestow for them it is within reason. What does that mean? They discover that if the Creator does not help them, they will not be able to do anything in order to bestow. In other words it is clear to them what is in order to receive and what is in order to bestow. The boundary becomes clearer and clearer to them that they have to believe above reason the Creator can help them emerge from the governance of the will to receive. They have not come to a state where the Creator helps them, but they understand that unless the Creator helps, they have no chance of succeeding.

26. S. (56:24) In the very first line Rabash writes that after investing all of his forces he sees that he cannot emerge from himself, from self-reception, what does it mean all the efforts, all the exertions?

R. 100%.

S. Can I measure what is my 100%?

R. That's according to your feeling, you are feeling of how much you can feel and understand but every single moment when you exert yourself, try to exert all the way. It has to be truly, this too should purportedly, extensively be above reason, it has to be complete agreement, what can I tell you complete agreement, complete consent.

27. S. (57:36) Please tell me, what does it mean to keep the Torah and Mitzvot in the ten?

R. Torah and Mitzvot, commandments, means I am doing everything that I understand that Kabbalists advised that we should keep and by this I awaken the reforming light, which corrects me. This is my work to do all kinds of actions, activities in the connection between us, these are called Mitzvot, the commandments and the general Mitzvot, love your friend as yourself. By this we bring down light, which is called the Creator, it is called the reforming light. Which then it is, all in all, called Torah or the upper Force.

28. S. (58:48) In the excerpt it speaks about above reason, so how do I know that I am above reason, not quote unquote, but for real, how can we tell the difference?

R. The fact that you are asking about it is already good, keep going and try to come to above reason without quote unquote, but for real.

29. S. (59:32) Who are the ordinary workers or servants of the Creator that the text refers to?

R. The ordinary workers maybe he means regular people, those who live, I do not know, what does it say ordinary workers?

S. Just the people who work for the Creator who absorbs Torah and Mitzvot?

R. Yes, they think that they can come to something without really pushing, without revoking their will to receive. That without even canceling their will to receive they can reveal the Creator and everything that the wisdom of Kabbalah presents to us.

30. S. (01:00:54) It says in the excerpt that the evil inclination overcomes him every day, so where is this evil inclination, how can I calculate and see that it has already reached it and I need to ask the Creator to replace it?

R. If you are aimed towards the friends and all in all, through the friends you are depicting to yourself what is the upper force, bestowal, and love, then it is clear to you, and it should be clear to you from this what is the evil inclination and what is the good inclination and how you should relate to both.

S. I mean that if I begin to feel the friends better, then I can immediately feel this evil inclination overcoming me?

R. Of course, towards the friends you can check with respect to the friends, you can check all of your qualities to what extent you belong in them, to spirituality or the other way around.

S. To what extent, this test, this check starting with my awakening from the moment I get up until I go to sleep? How can I pray to it all the time?

R. We have to be in constant connection with each other, check ourselves, locate where we are.

S. Because this evil inclination overcomes me to such an extent that I do not even notice that this is the evil inclination.

R. If you are among the friends and you want to detect and locate it correctly with respect to the ten, it will be clear to you that you are fighting against your own ego here.

31. S. (01:03:23) To have an effort 100% to put all the forces, how can I do it in a conscious and continuous way, how can I find the force to keep going without stopping?

R. From the ten, from the Creator, from where have you come to, where you are now and who is holding you now? Also the Creator and the group and you do not even imagine that even before you came to the group physically you were already in it. In this world you are still connected to each other, and this is how it came around. Now you are permitted to see, for a certain time, you are permitted to see it physically. But afterwards you will lose the physical connection again in your sight and hearing of taste, smell and touch and you will continue to work in higher forms.

32. S. (01:04:55) If the servants of the Creator discover within reason that only the Creator can help them then why do they need to go above reason, as it says at the end of the excerpt?

R. But the whole of the spiritual path is to go above reason, above the feeling of the corporeal intellect, because precisely in this they can come to the real form of bestowal, and they discover that they are incapable of it. But about this there can already be a prayer. The whole point is faith above reason, what is called Lishma, for her sake.

S. It is not clear but, in many excerpts, we are told that a person should reach the desired outcome, that only the Creator can help, here it says a person feels and he still asks above reason.

R. I do not understand what you are saying, when can the Creator help, in every situation.

S. Why go above reason when I feel within reason that only he can help?

R. I do not understand you, you have to turn to the Creator, try. Maybe you should get it from the friends, you have to turn to the Creator and ask him for help and when you turn to him when you see that you cannot succeed alone. So how do you come to realize that you cannot succeed alone? According to your life. According to what you want, can you come to love, bestowal, connection, something that goes against your will? Can you overcome yourself? Your ego? Then if not you have to turn to him.

33. S. (01:07:10) The excerpt that we now read, number 37, all the friends read before sleep but there were no questions, so how can we have questions about the text and how do we get questions during the preparation?

R. Questions come in the connection between us, if we want to connect to what we see in the text, we see that we have questions and powerlessness and we need scrutiny.

34. S. (01:08:08) When I sincerely believe that the Creator without me being able to explain it, is this what we call believing with faith above reason?

R. No, it is still not above reason because you still have not overcome, you still have not reasoned above your reason. You have to be in resistance, in a collision with your own reason and then ask for help, get it and follow what you will receive. So it will be clear to you that this is the reason, and this is the above reason, this is me within reason and this is me above reason. In this way you will then be able to locate the degree on which you are rising.

35. S. (01:09:10) There is what we call those who bestow, he says here quote and quote and that's below reason, there is another discernment called those who fear the lord but served pharaoh. So how can we tell that maybe we are also in the group?

R. We cannot fall into this discernment of servants of the Creator who; those who fear the Creator but serve pharaoh, because each day we awakened and each of us, these discernments more and more. What it means to go above reason, what is within reason, what is the real in order to bestow, and therefore, those who are among us, either they are still and have not scrutinize these things, but they are going to scrutinize, they are advancing towards it, and in the end, they do scrutinize it.

S. I'll tell you why, because in Baal HaSulam’s article he mentions the point where we enter the garden of the King, we walk around with Him, we are so impressed up to the point where suddenly we find ourselves outside of the garden, we ran away from the King, but we think that yes we are bestowing, you see so, do you understand?

R. I understand you and I am very happy that you are asking and speaking correctly, and that you remember these allegories that Baal HaSulam and Rabash described. We have no other way, other than to learn, and to yearn for the reforming light to influence us. You have no other means, the group, connection in the group, and learning, which brings light upon the group and explains to us how disconnected or connected we are among us, and what can we do accordingly, and it is impossible to bring in any other means here. What are you going to do? This is what exists in nature, and we do not need anything else.

36. S. (01:12:12) How do we work correctly with that state that following repeated prayers, above reason, we feel more anger, and we do not feel anything good love bestowing, but rather in disconnecting?

R. These states are very good because they awaken you to calculate, to check where you are, to scrutinize, to criticize and move forward. These states are good states.

S. Do I understand correctly that this is a process of erasing my ego, because I am not getting any flavor in it?

R. Yes.

37. S. (01:13:16) Please help us to scrutinize, we say that on the one hand, we are going with a common prayer, on the other hand, we say the prayer changes every moment. So how do we understand it, and do it correctly?

R. We have to try to be as connected as possible above the forces that push us away from one another, and our prayer, our common prayer should be only to the Creator to help us come into a single heart, one heart. That is it.

38. S. (01:14:04) Is participation in the morning lesson a reward? because if I pray that He will give me the strength and the opportunity to participate in the lesson, it is like praying that I will get some reward.

R. Okay, that is correct. I have to see my presence in every single group activity as promoting me somehow toward the spiritual goal. I have to accept it as a reward, yes, this is how I have to see it.

39. S. (01:14:47) How can I work with the lust and honor in the ten?

R. Very simple, they are huge forces of mine, and I have to direct them for the sake of the society both lust and honor. I have to crave the Upper Light to influence me and change me and do with me whatever it wants to really be under its force and its hands. And honor, I want to respect in my eyes the group and the Creator, so it will be above my own, my self-respect, so that the more I lower myself the higher I raise them, and the higher I raise myself I lower them. So, my honor will be like that instrument by which I raise the group in the Creator more and more.

40. S. (01:16:12) What is the meaning of the verse in thirty-seven “and those people that want to work with the intention to bestow by them it is within reason to such an extent that they need to believe above reason that the Creator can help them emerge for the governance of the world receive.” If we already feel this within reason, why do we need to believe in such above reason?

R. We need to understand that, within reason is within our uncorrected ego, this is why it does not belong to the truth, it belongs only to the discernment that the Creator created in order for us to rise above it.

41. S. (01:17:17) Whom does the body say, you see already harmony, prayers you have already given. Who was the “you”?

R. The approaches is to a person.

42. It says, “the body says.” Who is the person and who is the body?

R. For the time being, the body, and the person are one in the same. There still is no difference between them.

43. S. (01:17:50) Do I need to try to see the answer, the response of the Creator?

R. To see the answer of the Creator, for that I need to feel in my heart how much my heart yearns to come closer to the friends and to discover in the connection between us the Creator.

44. S. (01:18:22) What is the meaning of a reason when it says that they believe in above reason?

R. Reason is what I have in my mind and heart, and above reason is what I want to have in my mind and heart in order to bestow.

45. S. (01:18:50) Faith and prayer are components of the same state, or is it that prayer is to attain the faith?

R. A prayer is the means to attain a prayer, of course. The force of bestowal, and that is what we pray for.

46. S. (01:19:13) Will it help us more to feel our lack of ability to reach our intention to bestow, because I feel all the time that my ego is blurring this?

R. We have to hold this between us. I should feel that we are connected together, and in our connection together that is where I am about to collect all the good things, the bad things, it doesn't matter, but all the things that are related to the connection between us or the lack of, and it doesn't really matter to me if it is connection, or the lack of connection, but the main thing to me is that it is between us. That is what it accumulates between me and the friends, and that is what I work with and that is what I should add to. It is like a pot that you have on the stove, and you are cooking something, and every time you are adding, and adding into what you are cooking, you are adding more things that is what I want to see, that is how I want to see the group.

47. S. (01:20:27) How to overcome the state that friends who I am with in the morning lesson every day, I love them with burning love but for the ten I feel great apathy?

R. I do not understand this relation: the ten is a ten, and the friends are something else?

S. Could it be that they are not all together in the morning lesson?

R. Okay, we have to arrange this, but it has to be the same, this should be the same. Understand that if we are talking about women, then it is more difficult for them with their children, or husband maybe, but still I have to try to see these things in a way that is how it happens between us. There is only one group with which I go everywhere.

48. S. (01:21:47) How do we exit the will to receive? How could I obligate the Creator to assist me?

R. If I turn to the Creator in the correct way, I will certainly get help. Maybe the help from the Creator is not coming over to what I want, but it does come for what I am asking for, and accordingly as much as I will be able to receive. Do you understand? It is like a small child who sees some big car and says I want that car, so they buy him a small car, at a toy shop instead of this big car, and he is crying. That is how it is, because that is suitable for him in the meantime, from all the different aspects. That is how we are, maybe we are asking for, or we are crying out about something very big, but in the meantime, we cannot work with that, so we are given according to our ability to correctly use our vessels.
