Part 1:

Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (And Pharaoh drew closer #67)

1.Rav’s Introduction: We continue to understand, study, to check how other than the will to receive the Creator didn't have to create anything, anything, only a thing that is opposite to him. Since after all light and darkness, good and bad and all the modes and manners we discover that we can understand and can feel and can diagnose all of creation and ourselves in it. Hence this is what we are learning about, especially in Egypt. It is our getting acquainted with Pharaoh when the will to receive is revealed in the person and shows him that he is opposite the Creator. Since without a thing and its opposite you cannot reveal anything. Pharaoh is also revealed as the opposite, so we have to be ready for it. That's if we come to the wisdom of in order to reveal the Creator then we first have to get to know Pharaoh and then from that, through reverse analysis we learn who is the Creator. Therefore the excerpts that we are reading are called and Pharaoh drew closer, what does it mean drew closer? That's specifically by revealing himself, he's helping us see the opposite form to it which is the Creator and this way we come closer to the revelation of the Creator.

Excerpt 67 (02:31)

2. S. (03:50) You never accept the Pharaoh that is revealed in you, the ego that is repelling the friends as something that brings you closer. You always look at it as a problem, as a disturbance, how do we relate to it correctly?

R. This is called help against. Anything that is revealed to you as opposite from spirituality is specifically to show you where you are, that we are distant and opposite from spirituality, so you will overcome it and come closer. So all those things that are revealed, are revealed for our sake, both those that are for and those that are against, especially those that are against us, against connection, against spirituality, against bestowal. These are the things that specifically bring us closer or otherwise you would not be able to distinguish between them, specifically people who understand this principle and have some experience in it. Although it is difficult and they are happy because they feel, how they are thrown out of spirituality since it is a sign that they are going to climb and rise to a higher degree and all those disturbances will be as the posterior, the backside of the Partzuf that they are attaining.

S. What is the posterior of the Partzuf?

R. It is the coarseness, every spiritual Partzuf is built on the coarseness, the will to receive that was originally egoistic in order to receive then you restrict it and don't want to use it egotistically. Then the screen, the reflected light, you wish to turn it to in order to bestow, and then this coarseness, this disturbance becomes refinement otherwise it would not be. Because we have no spiritual power and spiritual understanding, no grasp in spirituality, only when some form of resistance comes, greater coarseness comes, and we go against it, and this coarseness enters under the restriction, we don't use it directly. Then later above it we arrange coarseness towards acts of bestowal and giving, and that's how we turn darkness to light.

S. How do we constantly defeat this disturbance through the power of the Creator, not just overcoming it, aware that it disappears by itself, but that we will specifically defeat it? Through connection with the Creator?

R. A beautiful question, in truth if we wish to use disturbances in the right way, that we need not simply to overcome the disturbance but purposefully, when we connect above the disturbance, and to the Creator, more strongly than how it was before. This is the meaning of rising to a higher degree. When we take the disturbance and on top of it we reach a new connection.

3. S. (08:26) What is the meaning of the army slings and arrows which are written in the excerpt number 67?

R. Those are various kinds of disturbances, they scare us off, they repel us back into our ego, into our will to receive, and they show us that we are not destined, we are not capable, not ready for performing any act of connection and mutual bestowing between us and from between us to the Creator. That's how it's called all those forces that separate us, it is called the army of Pharaoh. Those arrows and slings, all those are the forces of separation. There is nothing more than that, only forces of connection when we ask of the Creator and when do we ask? When we see that we have forces of separation against us, and we need to overcome them. Then all the forces of connection, forces of separation combine together, the forces of separation become the coarseness of the Partzuf of the soul and the forces of connection become the screen and the reflected light and we build a Partzuf from that, soon we will realize it.

4. S. (10:35) A friend said all those things like Pharaoh and Haman are all the Creator, there is nothing else, so we just have to, should we take it as a gift from the Creator or should we think that there is something against us?

R. No, it all depends on the extent a person understands, recognizes, and realizes that this is the path.

5., S. (11:18) What does it mean that the children of Israel are afraid of Pharaoh and his army more than they are afraid of jumping into the sea?

R. That they're afraid, they are afraid of the power of Pharaoh, the power of disturbance, of separation, the hate that reveals between them, they are afraid that those forces will control them. They will see themselves coming to such a degree of separation that they will not be able to reach spirituality. For them this is worse than death. We will continue to scrutinize these points, but it is all ahead of us.

6. S. (12:24) Why Pharaoh before he lets us go, the people of Israel, why did they later chase us and declare war on us?

R .In order to show them his power that he can give them a little bit of freedom and he can also keep hold them back, meaning you can show in both directions that he's the one in control, he is in charge of what is happening to them and no one else and a person understands that he is under the rule of Pharaoh. He cannot escape his grip, meaning the control of Egypt and there's no other force that is managing his life except for Pharaoh, then he is called a slave.

7. S. (13:47) Concerning the prayer, the outcry, it seems like there are two kinds of outcry when we come out of Egypt and another time when the Red Sea is divided. What's the difference between the prayers? Maybe we can connect them into one prayer?

R. Don't be a wise guy, it's a good question, there are many more prayers and cries, we will learn about them slowly. There is a place for everything, and everything has its own style both in feeling the problem and in how we rise and demand and what exactly do we demand? You are right to some extent, but I don't want to confuse people right now. We will learn each thing independently and then we will make comparisons and also to connect things.

8. S. (14:58) What is the nearing, how does it near us, by stepping on my ego, is that bringing closer?

R. When each and every day you locate, you scrutinize that what controls you is the Pharaoh and you concentrate your powers and you wish to be against it more and more at least when you discover that you are weak and incapable, that's also advancement and this is how you advance. This is how you advance. The important thing is it's for us.

 Exit 68 (15:59) Twice

9. R. (17:06) Both the Kedusha, Holiness cannot expand and show itself but rather it has to have a place for it and the place comes from the Klipa. Similarly the Klipa, shell cannot fill itself unless it receives this feeling from Holiness. So it turns out that they both are in a struggle, and they don't know how to arrange this space between them, meaning to build the soul ,what kind of collaboration they need to have in order to eventually build a soul that will be included of both except each thing should work correctly. That's why it is written ,the serpent bowels its head and strikes with its tail, meaning that sometimes it lets one take upon himself the burden of faith, which is above reason, which is the bowing of the head. But what about the tail? It strikes with its tail. So the tail can be interpreted as the end. That he bowed its head so as to ultimately receive in order to receive. That's how the Klipa, the shell, thinks in other words he first gave him permission to take upon himself faith so that afterwards as if the Klipa made room so a person would have a certain amount of the force of faith, and it was there so that afterwards he would take everything into its own authority for the Klipa. Since the Klipa knows that there is no way to receive any abundance except through Holiness and that's why it has to be incorporated with Holiness in order to draw the reforming light, in order to receive it later in order to receive. But later this entire thing fails.

10. S. (19:31) It always interests me, how can the shell receive the light if it works in order to receive, can it run these processes?

R. No, but it can draw the light as if it wants to receive it in order to bestow, but in the end when it comes, it tries to receive it in order to receive, it does not work out but in between there is some parallel there, a point of contact. She grabs a little bit of the light, and she enjoys it, she steals as if it steals from sanctity, and this is what keeps it alive. There is no other way because the vessel, the true vessel she likes, you cannot receive the light except through equivalence of form, but by drawing the light as if it is in order to bestow, yes, then the light seemingly arrives and the shell that wants to receive it in order to receive expels it and it is in the dark. This darkness increases the will to receive so later when it corrects itself, when a person corrects the vessel, he has a will to receive that is a little greater, a little bigger and he can receive an order to bestow, to a greater extent. Gradually all these things will settle in, okay?

11. S. (21:28) If Pharaoh moves us forward, what replaces him after we get rid of him?

R. In truth we never get rid of the Pharaoh, it always remains until the end of correction. When it becomes entirely in order to bestow because it is the end of correction, and without Pharaoh we can't take even a single step even the last step in the corrections. Even when we come out of Egypt, we say in memory of the exodus from Egypt, meaning we carry along with us, we are walking with the vessels of the Egyptians, vessels of reception and then until the end of correction but they only get corrected in order to bestow. Meaning these are the parts of the Pharaoh we keep coming to and correcting.

S. So what is the first stage of Pharaoh when we get rid of him in Egypt?

R. We get rid of the control, but we still have parts of his army. Let's say of Pharaoh, of his army.

12. S. (23:03) What does it mean to run away from Pharaoh in the ten?

R. If we don't want to use our desires to receive in the ten, but only in desires to bestow, although we don't possess any but to want to connect between us in the desires to bestow. Then we try to wage war as much as possible to pull from these vessels of reception towards acts of bestowal.

13. S. (24:00) Is the snake making a sound with his tail as a warning there for attacks to get you to the Sitra Achra, is that what he represents?

R. There are several modes of work with the serpent. You grab it and we catch it by the tail or catch it by the head, there are entire articles on that, and we will learn them. Just, you should understand the principles, the snake bows its head and strikes with its tail. Meaning beginning and end, the head and tail, what is he say Baal HaSulam, meaning sometimes it lets one take upon himself the burden of faith, which is above reason, which is the bowing of the head, but it strikes with its tail and the tail can be interpreted as the end. That it bowed its head so as to ultimately receive in order to receive. Meaning even when he lets a person come in and feel what is the meaning of sanctity, of bestowal, of faith in order to bestow above reason, all those states, are something that he gives a person to a small extent in order to let him feel it and then bring him back in order to receive. That's where he profits, meaning he grabs and pulls to himself, he grabs something and pulls to himself, that's the work of the snake. That's how Baal HaSulam continues, in other words, he first gave one permission to take upon himself faith so that afterward it would take everything into its own authority.

Meaning even a person that has some grasp in Holiness, it later enters into the Klipa, the shell because it knows that there's no way to receive abundance except through Kedusha, Holiness. But on that it is written that in the end he throws up everything. He swallows it and then throws up everything. As much as we enter the work and then we run away from it and then we get into it and run away from it but in the end, nevertheless, through the general reforming light, we triumph over the serpent, and we run away from Egypt with everything that this snake seemingly took from us. So it turns out that he allowed us to do something in order to bestow, then again it enters in order to receive and again we were in order to bestow to some extent and again we were in order to receive. In such states we accumulate certain charge, certain discernments from in order to bestow and later we run away all at once. We will learn about it.

S. How can we implement this in our ten, how do we implement this in the ten?

R. Read what is written and try, try to do it. Talk amongst yourself and this should be clear to you what's clear and not clear and then we will advance. First you should look for it, where is it in you?

14. S. (28:48) The force that pushes us, Pharaoh, does it mean that in spirituality it is more important to reveal that bad than to want the good?

R. Yes of course we cannot reveal the good, we cannot recognize the good, we cannot feel the good but only after we try to come to this good but along the way we get to know the evil and from the evil we can begin to locate the good.

15. S. (29:36) What does it mean to receive the light, to receive it in order to bestow?

R. I want to receive the revelation of the Creator in order to give him contentment.

S. But we said many times also yesterday that we don't want to reveal the Creator, we want to only have the strength to make an effort to be in the work?

R. Yes but our work, our entire work is to give him contentment because we can give contentment because we receive from him specifically when we go to the vessels of reception we work with them in order to bestow.

Excerpt 69 (30:35) Twice

16. R. (32:16) Meaning, it's impossible to correct the will to receive unless we work in front of the snake, this Pharaoh. He is found along the way, he draws the abundance, he arranges all those things and only after we know how to work with him, how to receive from him the parts that are in order to receive, his parts, and gradually take them through all eight years of exile in Egypt to in order to bestow, then we can run away from Egypt meaning, disconnect from in order to receive which is the Pharaoh, and receive the ability to bestow and this is called the work outside of Egypt. This will all settle in us gradually. There is confusion here between the story and the spiritual reality. We will correct it.

69. R. (33:38) Rav reads: This is the meaning of Pharaoh bringing them near bringing them to repentance, this was done deliberately so he would later take everything from them into his own authority, everything into his own authority. It says if he needs Israel so they will be between him and the upper light, they draw the light, and he takes the light to the vessels of reception. So that Pharaoh sucked all the abundance that came down to the lower ones. He sucked all the abundance from the nape, from the throat which is considered the beginning of the body meaning he will take everything and its vessels of reception, this is the work of Pharaoh. All the abundance that is coming down from the Rosh to the Guf he would grab it and receive it in order to receive.

 Excerpt 70 (34:55)

17. R. (36:20) This means that Holiness has no way of receiving the light, which is opposite from vessels of reception, that's why this light is accumulated, at a certain place called the sea of the Sitra Achra and after this place is filled you receive it in sanctity in order to bestow. This is the meaning of he swallowed down riches and he shall vomit them up again. After receiving a small lights in reception, these lights all at once, are received an order to bestow. If one extends some illumination and cannot sustain it permanently because his vessels are not yet clean, to be fit for the light, which is entirely in order to bestow, and his vessels are still not in order to bestow. Meaning that you will receive it and vessels of bestowal like the light that comes from the giver. Hence the illumination must depart from him. At that time it turns out that a person constantly approaches, touches bestowal and then comes back and then he touches it and comes back returns and In these sorties he continues to do it. After that time this illumination from coming and going, coming, and going, it falls into the hands of the Sitra Achra, in order to receive and it continues several times meaning that one extends and then it departs from him.

Hence the illuminations multiply in the sea of the Sitra Achra, that's how it's referred to. Meaning, anything because there is no absence in spirituality so anything that came into contact with it remains there, but he does not feel it, he actually remains in his possession hence the eliminations multiply in the sea of the Sitra Achra until when, until the cup is full. What does it mean? After that sea gets filled, when? We don't know but we have to keep adding. This means that after one reveals the full measure of the effort that one can reveal, each time he continues and continues he doesn't let himself stop or grow tired, and reach despair, then the Sitra Achra gives him back everything she took into her own authority. This is the meaning of he has swallowed down riches and he shall vomit them up again. She takes it for herself and later she vomits it up again she brings it back in this way we have this transition between receiving in order to receive and receiving in order to bestow.

18. S. (40:12) How should a person relate to this process where the Sitra Achra takes everything for him in order to receive?

R. It needs to understand that the main thing for him is to continue in the work. It is as we learn about the box or the cup when a person goes into the treasury of the King, he fills it up and he walks out, and it's spilt and then he cries, and he's told to go back in. He goes back and fills it up, he's happy that he has a cup full of coins, he walks outside, and it is spilled out again so he cries even more, and he sees that this way he can never receive this full cup of coins, with money, so what does he do? It is as if there are different messengers here, the King sent him to the treasury to receive money, he was given a cup, a vessel in which he can receive, he goes to the treasury and they give him filling according to what the King allowed but when he leaves there are such messengers there that don't let him leave but as he walks out, they hit the cup and it all spills out. There's nothing he can do, he cries, it is as if he is in between several forces, different forces, some are for the King, they fill up his vessel, some are against.

They tell him you don't deserve it or something. So he is then but after he understands that he has no choice that he can still walk in again and fill up his cup, and he does it several times over and over, then he begins to receive from it, the understanding, he begins to think that maybe the fact that he walks inside and receives and he walks outside and his vessel is empty, maybe there is an intention here from the King. So in this way he'll be able to take out from the treasury which is a locked place and to the open place, to the world he can take out many such sparks of light and then this dark world outside of the King's treasury will shine and this is how he achieves corrections.

S. Is there a special action a person does so that in the end the Sitra Achra turns everything to him, or does it happen by its own?

R. The Sitra Achra constantly depicts him towards this action. When it spills out the vessel, empties the lights from the vessels and pushes him back into fill it up again, it is all the work of the Sitra Achra, it's all still completely in order to receive but through such entries and exits that he is given, he begins to acquire the forces of bestowal. He doesn't have any other vessel, more than the cup that he has which is filled with coins. That's all he has, so that's the only way that we can work with him, and all the drops join into a great amount.

19. S. (43:37 ) What is the difference between us being the passing light and the enlightenment here falling into the hands of the Sitra Achra?

R. This is being the transition, we don't have any vessels, we have to understand that the force of the Sitra Achra, the other side, is that same force, that same power of the Creator and we have no way to receive the light unless through such entries and exits. When we come in and come out, come in and come out and this is how we come to the great amount. We also see in our world, all the phenomenon, the great phenomenon, comprised of two opposites like waves. They can't be linear from zero to a hundred percent, they have two nevertheless contain within them two opposites because you cannot accumulate so much power in one direction, in one action, it has to come through a combination of contradictory forces. Because in every detail, and every element you have to have two things, two opposites, light and darkness, the Creator, and the beginning of the created being. Therefore here, too, we see every time that we have a struggle with the Sitra Achra with Pharaoh with all kinds of things on one hand and on the other hand stands the Creator and He is actually governing all the structures. There are many questions here that's clear. This topic is very, very not simple, complicated.

 Excerpt 71 (47:33) Twice

20. R. (48:19) In other words the fact that we are emptied from the upper light, it's precisely this gives us the appetite. Let's call it this, a desire to come back to it again and look at our lives, day, night, we eat, afterwards we become empty and then we want to eat again. All the things in us are like that, filling emptiness, filling, and then we become an emptying and that's life in every single action, in the smallest thing that happens in ourselves, in our lives, in our universe, in all the worlds, everything comes in two opposite forms. Where one comes and works on its opposite.

Reader continues: (49:15) “and he would never be able to gather…. “

21. S. (51:59) What's the difference between working with Pharaoh and working with the Sitra Achra?

R. Basically there is no difference except Pharaoh is called the root of everything, and the Sitra Achra is one of the manners, manifestations, when you identify the other side then you call it Sitra Achra. Sitra Achra means the other side. Sitra is side and Achra means other, so it's other it's the opposite side of Holiness. That's it there are many names to those same two phenomena that we have plus and minus, light and darkness, bestowal, and reception and so forth.

22. S. (53:05) It seems like all the verses here speak of the role of Pharaoh or the Sitra Achra in helping us on growing the vessels of reception bringing us closer to sanctity, I don't understand what is our work, how to use it?

R. First you need to detect these parts in you. This is what we need. Then we will work, these excerpts are very difficult, very difficult. I feel it on all of you and we have to detect them and work with them, read them several times, wait for a few days until we begin to feel where it is in us, but mainly it is to repeat these excerpts several times and find them in each of us. Then we will advance, for now it is a part that is called getting to know, getting to understand.

23. S. (54:25) So the Sitra Achra has all this deposit and does that mean that after we do all the necessary work it will come back to us as understanding?

R. Of course as understanding, as feeling, as attaining because without the will to receive we wouldn't be able to receive, to feel, to detect anything in Holiness. There are no vessels for Holiness, it is only bestowal and only bestowal is something that it's air. Whereas we, in order to receive, in order to feel, we need something tangible to have in our vessels of reception, and this we don't have, so how do we do it? So we learn how we come to a state that even the vessels of reception that we reveal in us because they are our nature, they are in us, so we use them in order to bestow. Then they can be a vessel of reception for the upper light. Where according to the equivalence in the intentions, they will be matching our vessels and the upper light, congruent. Gradually, we need to find the points of connection here between the will to receive in the vessel and the desire to bestow in the light.

24. S. (56:32) How to maintain the unity in the ten during the process of correction brought on by the Sitra Achra?

R. It's necessary because without having connection in ten we won't be able to approach the light and then our whole work is pointless. What is Egypt? It is when we want to somehow connect among us but can't. Pharaoh keeps getting in the way and separating us. But by separating he helps us discover where we are in separation, where we are separated and then we work precisely on those gaps between us that Pharaoh revealed, exposed, this is here at how it works. So we need to work more and more on the connection and specifically in the connection will begin to feel the work of Pharaoh and will be able to distinguish between light and darkness and all of those states.

25. S. (58:13) We are speaking of practical work finding this point where we are reading the excerpts. How to build the intention correctly? I understand it, feel it, or want the ten to feel it?

R. The truth is, I don't really distinguish between me and the ten. It is in times like these times, like that, without me feeling how can I see, speak of anything, if I wish anyone to feel it and supported by this I try and I become the result of the ten. So the more that they advance, I am advancing.

26. S. (59:20) This process where the Sitra Achra can't contain these lights, it is like entropy. Where we can start a process and it winds down, but does such a process produce, does it grow the coarseness?

R. The fact that the coarseness grows means that Pharaoh is revealed more and more. The fact that we work more and more with our coarseness means we are getting closer and closer to Pharaoh. The fact that we want to discover that we are opposite to the coarseness and want to approach the intention to bestow above reason, this means going opposite Pharaoh. This is how we scrutinize all the points in the work between us and from between us to Pharaoh, such organization that is very, very tangible, and serious, concrete, it is happening in the connection between us and in the stance between us and Pharaoh and therefore this is how we advance.

27. S. (01:01:20) The previous text said that Pharaoh receives nourishment from the nape, from the back of the neck, does that have to do with the quality of pride?

R. Yes.

28. S. (01:02:18)  In connection with the Sitra Achra, if the intention is to receive then what changes, what changes about this inversion that is taking place when it falls on the Sitra Achra?

R. In this inversion the vessels that are vessels of receptions acquire the intention to bestow.

S. I'm trying to understand if there is a feeling of yearning to his connection, towards bestowal, does that change into reception or what is the process?

R. I cannot answer you, there are things that you need to discover on your own. By searching it might take days or even weeks because by this, you accumulate vessels for understanding the situation and the process. So, stay with the questions until you scrutinize them yourself.

29. S. (01:03:58) I didn't understand according to the excerpt. What is the deposit that goes to the other side and remains as a deposit?

R. Lights, sparks they can be kept in the will to receive and afterwards they can rise from within the will to receive and be accepted by the vessels of bestowal when these vessels cannot exist, become organized and corrected above the sea of the Sitra Achra.

S. You said earlier if I understood correctly that what comes, what falls to the Sitra Achra keeps a certain illumination. Is this the spreading of the light?

R. Of course our whole world lives inside the sea of the Sitra Achra.

S. It turns out that by tossing us into spiritual work and Pharoah incites us, is that for us to receive illumination?

R. Don't turn it into all kinds of theories, that too is correct, but basically it is the fact that we are thrown, we are not thrown, it is always from our perspective. It is like in the wheel we say that part of it goes forward and part of it goes backwards but actually it is to go forward so we complement each other, this is why we cannot have Holiness without the shell.

30. S. (01:06:15) The person detects the Klipa when it bows his head and it's preparing to strike with its tail. What is the work of a person?

R. To constantly work in connection as much as possible into the group and here inside the group is where you find your place, your confidence, your safety, the right direction, and the realization, fulfillment.

31. S. (01:06:53) We detect the place where the Klipa lets one works and the place where he takes?

R. When you are inside the group you will be able to build the system and see them, how they happen.

32. S. (01:07:09) How to combine, to approach, we need to want the end of correction right now on the other hand, we come to this small attitude and there's no strength to do anything at once?

R. This is what we have to work, we have to work what is revealed to us because we don't understand the stages we will have to go through, we need only to work with what is revealed before us.

S. The work with the principal that we need to demand the end of correction right now?

R. We always need to demand the end of correction but along the way we have many steps.

33. S. (01:11:24) Are there any states of the Klipa that we cannot correct on the spot. What are the signs of the Klipa?

R. The signs of the Klipa are very simple for now, that I have in me such desires that I cannot overcome in order to be connected with the friends.

34. S. (01:12:00) When is the Klipa necessary for development and when does it hold in his back?

R. The shell is always necessary for development, but it all depends how I look at it. If I can get through the shell, overcome, and take a step forward then if I can escape and afterwards I will be able to overcome it in further steps, further ahead. But I always have to work against the shell anyhow until I achieve final correction. Without the shell I cannot advance.

35. S.( 01:12:47) According to what is written in excerpt sixty-seven, what does it mean that they saw the sea before them, storming and its waves were upright in our spiritual walk?

R. It sees great obstructions and disturbances ahead of us and we cannot rise above them, it is beyond our power to rise above them or do anything, great disturbances. What do we do? Either we surrender or we work by example declining into popular religion. We pray and that's it but not for the sake of advancing spiritually, not in order to bring contentment to the Creator. With simple submission that all the people in the world have or we, nevertheless, approach the Creator in any way we can against our ego. Where our will to receive, Pharaoh is the one who leads us forward and it is the one that directs us correctly, to how we can approach the Creator. Pharaoh is a faithful force for achieving the goal, except it works with us in the opposite way so that every time if we overcome it then we reach this sublime upper goal.

36. S. (01:14:35) Would it be right to say that the only way to reach the Creator is through fear? Is Love of the Creator possible without fear?

R. No, there cannot be love without fear. It's impossible. Also, in our world without fear, without trepidation, without the sensation that you lost something, without it you cannot keep any state,  without this fear. So, fear is our foundation, our basis, because we are made of the will to receive nevertheless, which within it thinks only about itself, so to the extent that the fear is revealed, the fear of losing something, to that extent we keep what we want to achieve, what we want to come too.

37. S. (01:15:60) If a person draws the light but can’t sustain it permanently because his vessels are not pure enough, should man be aware that the vessels aren't pure, and he annuls the lights, or it disappears from an action that comes from above?

R. The lights disappear through the work from above. Of course only the Creator governs the appearance of the light towards the person.

38. S. (01:16:35) What's that point in me that stands before Pharaoh? How do you recognize it and strengthen it?

R. What stands in me against Pharaoh is called Moses.

S. How do I recognize it and strengthen it?

R. The point where I long for the Creator, that what strengthens it.

39. S. (01:17:02) What does it mean vessels that belong to the root of a soul? What are those vessels?

R. I will say it is man's will to receive that longs to the Creator with all his vessels. Man's root of the soul is that point from the upper light that exists within man, within man's will to receive that enlivens it and it brings it back to the vessel of Adam Harrison from which it detaches. When the vessel of Adam HaRishon, the light and the Kli were there together and when they divided, when they exploded by the shattering then there is a will to receive and inside of it is some little spark of light in every will to receive, and then these desire to receive, they have to connect together. Now they cannot connect the way they were before because the shattering spear in them, meaning an additional force of resistance called the Ego and now we have to try to connect between us despite the ego, above the ego and that's what we are trying to do, to the extent that we try and can’t then we ask the Creator for strength; the Creator helps us to the extent that we asked of Him and then according to how much we get closer, we attained the concept of the Creator which becomes revealed between us, between the shattered vessels. Meaning the broken desires that's why in connecting these pieces of the broken heart that we bring together to that extent, we begin to also attain the concept of the creator that connects the broken vessels.

40. R. (01:20:06) We are going to continue, these were very difficult excerpts for us, I admit that I couldn't also interpret them sufficiently. I feel that and I'm not content with that and we'll continue tomorrow. Is it excerpt seventy-two? All right, let's go ahead and finish.

Reading excerpt #72  Twice (01:20:40) (01:22:32)

41. R. (01:24:18) Beautiful words but we need to read them a few more times and think about them. How do we understand them? Let's continue to seventy-three.

Reading excerpt #73  (01:24:33)

42. R. (01:25:58) We heard this many times. We still need to understand this.

43. S. (01:26:09) Why are these shells represented by the seed of the fruit?

R. I don't understand?

S. Why is that the peel of the fruit is a shell?

R. Because the shell guards the fruit, so it is not rotten, so it doesn't decay. The moment you peel off the shell the fruit starts to decay, the air and everything outside of the fruit  influences the fruit and consumes it and therefore the shell protects the fruit, so that the fruit is not harmed by the hostile environment. The same happened with us. We are inside a shell and our entire environment, which is the upper light, the upper light, so it cannot harm us. And, that's how we come to ripeness so that we can cope with the hostile environment with the upper light and accept it in small portions in order to bestow, and our Kli, our fruit, grows more and more until the entire upper light will enter it and actually grow it instead of consuming it. So, the shell is necessary, it has to be upon us, it has to be between us and the upper light; or between us the will to receive in Pharaoh and the will to bestow in the Creator. So, without the Klipa, the shell we wouldn't be able to exist, because we would come to a mutual annihilation basically: when two opposite things work directly on each other, that has to be some resistance, some resistor, some insulation between them and then gradually they come to the state where each one is incorporated with the qualities of the other, and then they can connect in such a way that one can enter the other and vice versa and this way they become one; one that is comprised of two. This is called “the darkness shines its light”, that’s what we attain in the final correction by several stages of work.

44. S. (01:29:55) In the text we see that this poor person takes the money and the money falls when the minister keeps kicking the police officer, I see it as a Kli full of treasure that we have to carry. Can we pass this treasure from one student to the next, that we should go together to the minister and not alone? What does it mean to take this whole treasure that was given to us?

R. No, we can’t come and take the whole treasure. Clearly we don't have the vessels. We only take according to our vessel but even our vessel that we use in order to bestow, it cannot hold the light, from the other side from the other reason because if we take into it, then we won't be able to fulfill in its small measure. We advance in levels, level after level, so if I take something that I deserve according to the current level, how can I move to the next level? Because my vessel is being emptied which I filled in order to bestow by that I received a desire that is too full to fulfill as opposed to what I had before and emptied. So, the present, minus what I filled, and the previous plus what I felt fulfilled, both now work together as a desire to receive towards the next degree, and this is called “the darkness shines its light”. So, let's say I receive before one hundred grams in order to bestow, now it emptied, so this emptying and the previous one hundred grams, now I start wanting let’s say two hundred grams and that’s how each time I multiply myself, It is much more than multiplying but let’s say it’s multiplying, and that's how we advance. This is what's happening to us.

45. S. (01:33:08) Can a person do good to his ten with actions that he feels pleasure in doing, and if so how do you know that these actions are really for the benefit of the group and worthwhile to perform even though it comes from the other side?

R. I didn't understand what you're saying?

S. For example if a person does something for the ten or the organization, then he gets Joy, pleasure for doing this. So, does this pleasure valuable? How do we know that this action is beneficial for the ten?

R. This all depends on how we try to connect between us above all disturbances. there is nothing you can measure here besides towards our connection above disturbances. The disturbances are Pharaoh, that each time grows and grows in disturbances, in order to necessitate us to connect more and more on top of it and that’s how we advance, that’s our entire work. Until we come to a state where all the disturbances that Pharaoh presented to us, we overcame them and then we were rewarded with exiting Egypt, exiting his control. This is called “that Pharaoh himself accompanies us towards exiting Egypt”.

46. S. (01:35:35) Eventually we have to attain a state that our whole life has no reward and I just devote everything to the Creator. The question is, It turns out that Kabbalists convinced us with these parables to work with the empty box and show that there will be a reward at the end?

R. They cannot do it otherwise, because you always need to advance and in the meantime your force of progress is your ego, and therefore, just like little children when we speak to children we always lure them with different gifts and candy which is what they understand; but nothing more than that.

S. But the truth is that that story isn’t expecting some treasure in an egoistic way?

R. Of course not, of course not. What awaits you is the ability to bestow, unlimitedly. And, you will receive that as great treasure, that’s unparalleled.

S. I just remember the first time I heard it: standing in the king's treasury and getting a key. Now I understand that the treasure is not something I can even appreciate.

R.  No, you do. You have the light of Ein Sof, infinity. But you can receive it only in the condition that you will be giving, like Him.

47. S. (01:37:56) What is the difference between emptying the desire with the intention to receive or the intention to bestow?

R. With intention to receive the desire is like a desire the Creator created and the intention to bestow, the desire receives into it and all intensity of the light. Therefore it grows 620 times more than what it was before. Meaning it grows to the height of NRNHY and inflates, say like dough, when we bake bread we put a specific substance into it and then this way it grows. So, it is not the same Kli, and it is not the same light; that is measured by the exertion, by the exertion we come to a state called “620 times more”.

S. Is there a difference between the feelings that a person empties if…?

R. Try to bestow to someone and to receive from someone and see how different these two things are. In bestowing to someone you can receive fulfillment and the feeling that it is really much greater; and receiving from someone even though for a moment you are impressed and the moment after it declines until it disappears. I cannot explain these things because they exist in spirituality but not Incorporated.

48. S. (01:40:16) Concerning excerpt seventy-two. Can you please explain what are the forty-nine gates of impurity are?

R. The 49 Gates of impurity are those degrees, 49 degrees that we have to rise with Holiness and when we come to the 50th gate, it is the final gate; that's where we attain the complete NRNHY.

S. Can I count the gates?

R. Yes of course we will enter them and count them.

49. S. (01:41:25) Should a person accept the fact that the box will always be empty, and it will never be filled?

R. Of course yes. Why? Because he receives strengthening from the environment and from the study by his vessels growing and they have to grow to the point of the true vessel of the soul, and that's why he agrees that it will be emptied again and again, just to make it faster.

S. And there's no reason to fight it just to accept that it is good?

R. Of course. I don't want to stay the way it is I want it to change as fast as possible. I am not the boss of that at all. I only own the pace of my progress.

S. What does this mean in the ten, this ocean that you have to jump into, that Pharaoh is on one side, and you have to jump into it?

R. The great sea is the light of Ein Sof, and inside the light of Ein Sof there’s a whale which is the great will to receive the Creator created.

S. So is it scary to jump in there? What do you see in this sea?

R. You don't jump into that sea. In that sea lies the whale, the will to receive, and the more I work on the will to receive the more and better I recognize this great sea and I reach a state to where both the whale and the sea become my spiritual reality. That is the way in which it is explained to us. Of course there is no sea and there's no whale. This is just an example.

50. S. (1:43:58) What does it mean that Pharaoh brought Israel closer to repentance? What does repentance mean?

R. To actions of bestowal. So specifically by the vessels of reception growing in us it necessitates us to advance towards bestowal.

51. S. (1:44:22) The minister that kicked the poor person, is that what the Creator does with us when He adds ego into our ten so we can make more efforts?

R. To make an effort that's also true but in order for us to turn to Him with a request, with a prayer to the Creator. He wants us to depend on Him, to ask of Him, to connect with Him and that's why He raises in us each time problems and disappointments so that we don't run away from Him.

52. S. (1:45:04) Does moving away from Pharaoh bring closeness to the Creator?

R. Yes, of course. One depends on the other.

53. S. (1:45:16) If a person understands Pharaoh's tricks should he play with him or should he be an enemy to Pharaoh?

R. Man needs to be in both this and that. He needs to know how he works in each and every state. In mind and heart as much as possible, that's it.

54. S. (1:45:48) What is the difference between the lights that the Sitra Achra steals compared to the lights that we receive after the correction?

R. It is the same lights, the same lights but now a person cannot guard the Sitra Achra guards and then gives it back to us. Help made against thee.

55. S. (1:46:17)  It is a bit General on our daily prayer. Should we use excerpts on our daily prayer from the daily prayer book?

R. I do not think so because it is far from our reality, and it is not going to be understood by most of us. No. I recommend that it is better for us to read the quotes from the morning lesson and pray based on them.

56. S. (1:47:02) Does the parable on the King and poor person speak about the vessels of receiving or bestowal of the poor man?

R. Both the vessels of reception and the vessels of bestowal.

S. The vessels that are emptied every time.

R. His vessels of bestowal are being emptied so that he can fulfill them in order to bestow and then they are emptied.

57. S. (1:47:35) What does it mean that he swallowed and vomited in the spiritual world?

R. That the will to receive holds in it all the lights and afterwards brings them to us when we are capable of receiving in order to bestow.

58. S. (1:48:00) Who is that Minister? The one emptying the vessel.

R. The one emptying the vessel is the Creator. In fact the Creator does all of the actions it is just in different aspects in different manners therefore He has different names.

59. S. (1:48:28) It is written in seventy-three that the poor man cried that He is doing it to him. What does it mean that he cries?

R. Because he worked in order to bestow, and he thought that he was going to do everything and now he reveals that he did it all in order to receive and that is all in order to increase his Kli for the next action.

S. How is that expressed in the ten?

R. That we are not despaired but rather hold each other even though each one understands here and there at different times that he doesn't bestow but receives how much he is immersed in the ego and not in the connection with the friends but by one helping his friend we nevertheless come to another connection and then we discover that it is wrong again and then again and so by taking these steps forward where each one discovers that he wants to connect and in the next moment he finds that he is not connected and is actually thinking about how he can take advantage of the group but all of these states join together to the construction of the true Kli and that is how we advance.

60. S. (1:50:12) That state where he is redeemed does that only depend on a person’s prayer to the Creator, or can it happen in the incorporation of the prayer of the many?

R. When the person is ready to incorporate with the friends the more he goes for it and more and more incorporates with them then he comes to a state where the Creator is revealed that he becomes included in Him.

S. This process of redemption. Can it happen a thousand times a day on every scrutiny?

R. Yes and even more but we can’t even count this frequency of in and out.

61. S. (1:51:10) What is that 50th gate?

R. The 50th gate is the greatest desire to receive that can appear and we cannot do anything with it, but the Creator opens it up and brings us into the Garden of Eden.

R. (1:51:37) Thank you to the women. Thank you very much.
