In Cambridge, a group of students in a course called The Decolonization of Hearing, were told that classical music was an instrument of imperialism. There’s even a course called, Music, Power, Empire. The faculty of musicology, at the requests of students, puts up warnings that some topics might hurt or offend, because in some janners like opera, racial stereotypes thrive. I thought that music was above all this. • It is known that empathy is the ability to feel the world of another as your own. That is, we are literally able to feel someone elses pain. Psychology syas, if we experience empathetic pain for a long period of time, emotional exhaustion often sets in. When feeling compassion, we also feel someone else's pain, but we are able to endure it because compassion is with love. That’s the whole difference. By learning, developing compassion, humanity could help neautralize the suffering of others.
