Saudi Arabia decided to expel the Lebanese ambassador due to support expressed
for Yemen rebels by a Lebanese minister, who is close to Hezbollah. The United Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait also expelled the Lebanese ambassador from their countries. All this is taking place as Lebanon faces a tremendous economic crisis and is on the verge of a civil war. Lebanon found itself caught in the rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Are there more and more Arab countries on Israel’s side? What does it mean for Israel, and what should Israel do in such a situation? Find out with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi.
Below is a transcript of the video:
Oren Levi: As an Israeli, I feel there is finally a group of countries in the Arab world that are on our side. Finally, they understand us in the Arab world. Maybe there is an opportunity to calm down threats coming from Iran and Hezbollah. How do you see this?
Dr. Laitman: It is possible. This also has to awaken us—for everyone to come and see that within the State of Israel there is a real peace and tranquility.
Oren Levi: What do we need to do in this country?
Dr. Laitman: We need for people to come as close as possible to each other. For us to truly treat our Arab brothers favorably, not formally. Not by giving them money but to really show them closeness.
Oren Levi: Closeness?
Dr. Laitman: Exactly. We need to show that we are willing to be close to them and that we feel them as our equals. This way, we can really achieve much more than all those billions that we send them every month.
Oren Levi: Do you think that this is what the Arab public is lacking? They lack a feeling that they are our equals and that they're close to us?
Dr. Laitman: That they are wanted with all of their culture, and education and language, and everything that they have. We need to acknowledge that they are truly close to us.
Oren Levi: But on the other hand, we're afraid of violence and terror.
Dr. Laitman: First of all, reveal that. It does not mean that you have to disarm yourself or have no defense systems. And they need to know that too.
Oren Levi: So what does Israeli security depend upon?
Dr. Laitman: Our security depends on the good and warm relations between us, and on the measure to which we project these good and warm relations between us onto our Arab brothers too.
