Part 1: Rabash. Delight Them with a Complete Building-2 Record 303.
Reader: Hello, we are reading from the writings of Rabash, volume 3. We are in article number 303, Delight Them with a Complete Building-2. You can find this material at Sviva Tova and the Avrut system and send live questions there through those sites as well.
Delight Them with a Complete Building-2
Reading Article: (00:41) “Delight them with a complete building; brighten them up with the light of Your face” (Shabbat [Sabbath] songs).
We need to understand what is a “complete building” and what is an “incomplete building.” The thing is that in everything that one does, he wants that through his work he will have a complete building in which to live.
There is a building where the person himself will live, and this is called an “incomplete building” because a person is regarded as deficient. Therefore, the building is named after the person, and naturally, it is regarded as an incomplete building.
But if a person wants his work to yield a building for the Creator, that the Creator will live there, this is called a “complete building,” since the Creator is complete. Hence, the building is named after Him, and is therefore called a “complete building,” as it is written, “And let them make Me a Temple and I will dwell in the midst of them.”
“Delight them” means that when a person decides that it is not worthwhile to work for himself, meaning to build a construction for himself, and begins to build for the sake of the Creator, it is considered that “He has left the general public, but has not yet arrived.”
This is so because when he wants to work Lishma [for Her sake], the body comes and asks, “What is this work for you?” At that time, he has no joy because the body objects to him and tells him that he should not exclude himself from the public, since all of the public engages only in their own buildings, meaning that man will have a reward for his work.
Hence, we say, “Delight them” when they engage in a “complete building,” where by the Creator imparts upon them joy, which is a joy of Mitzva [commandment], which is the light of faith, called “Brighten them up with the light of Your face,” they will be able to complete their work.
M. Laitman: Questions?
Question (Turkiye 2): (04:07) How can we created beings build a complete construction with the Creator, a complete building?
M. Laitman: When we ask him, and then what he does with certainty will be all complete.
Question (Petah Tikva 6): (04:35) In the fourth paragraph it's written that if a person wants his work to be a building for the Creator, that the Creator will live there. What building can I build for the Creator for the Creator to dwell there?
M. Laitman: That is really a serious question. That depends on how much a person is willing to invest if he wants to build a complete building. Then he needs to know that this can only be if he intends for this building to be for the sake of the Creator, that he's building it for the Creator. And then with certainty it's not a building that a person intends to live in, but rather only for the Creator.
Student: If a house is suitable for the Creator, a complete house.
M. Laitman: If he intends it for the Creator, then it needs to be a complete building. Just like the Creator is complete, so is the building for him. It too will be called complete.
Student: What is a complete building? What does it mean? What do I need to build?
M. Laitman: I don't think we know how to build a complete building. The fact that a person, to begin with, thinks that he is building this building, the Creator will guide him in making the correct building, and then the Creator will enter this building.
Question (Women MAK 43): (07:47) If the light can't be felt without the desire, does that mean that the form of the desire defines the depth and quality of light a person can feel?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Student: Another question. Do I understand that the perception of pleasure depends on the degree of the desire, and that deeper work is from the left line. Can it change the work of the light and the Kli, and if so, then the transition from false pleasures to true pleasures depends on the three lines.
M. Laitman: That too is correct.
Question (Women MAK 98): (08:40) How in the Ten can we start to receive pleasure from the truth and not from something that has the form of falsehood?
M. Laitman: Pray. Ask. We have nothing besides that.
Question (Women MAK): (09:09) What is the Kli that the Ten can create for the revelation of the Creator in which the true pleasure will be revealed?
M. Laitman: That's called a complete Kli, to give to the Creator.
Student: The essence of our pleasure is to give pleasure to the Creator by creating a Kli for the clothing of the light. After all, the pleasure itself is not the goal, it's just a means. If the pleasure is self, will it just disappear in the end?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (10:41) In the Ten what does it mean to receive clothing upon the pleasure and how to do it.
M. Laitman: The clothing upon the pleasure is our reflected light, what we receive as a result of the work that is done.
Student: When we first have to acquire a screen?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Student: Do we already have a screen? Do you see it?
M. Laitman: I see that it's just about to appear for you.
Question (Women MAK 23): (11:33) What is the complete building that the Creator can do? How can we build it in the Ten, in the connections between us?
M. Laitman: In complete bestowal to one another we can create a state in which we will only be in bestowal, and from that state we will build the temple.
Question (Hadera 1): (12:23) To build a building, this building is to find a
sanctified place to provide for the Creator. That's in the Ten. But in a person, we're anyway in the intention. We're building the place that is devoted for bestowal and for nothing else. So, how do we build a building for the Creator there?
M. Laitman: Each and every friend wants to know whether he precisely thinks of the friends that need to come to the quality of bestowal.
Student: The point of the friend is twice. It's once in his nature, in his heart, and another time in the Ten. There can be such a thing?
M. Laitman: Let it be that way. The main thing is that he wants to come to a state where he will see all his friends as complete.
Question (Petah Tikva 22): (13:47) Joy is a result of good deeds, and here, in the passage we just read, in the last paragraph, he actually says that joy is a means. He says the Creator gives him joy of the Mitzvah. Then he completes by saying, and then they'll be able to complete their work, as if it's the condition that if there's no joy, they won't be able to get there. How can you settle this? Is it a condition or a result?
M. Laitman: Joy is a result of actions of bestowal towards the Creator.
Student: So, it's not something that we have to do, but the result of the work is joy?
M. Laitman: Yes. He also writes it in the last sentence: Therefore, we say delight them when they engage in a complete building, whereby the Creator imparts upon them joy, which is a joy of Mitzvah, which is the light of faith, called brighten them up with the light of your face. Then they will be able to complete their work.
Student: It sounds like the condition. It says then you'll be given this, and then you'll be able to complete the work.
M. Laitman: Yes, of course.
Student: So, is it a condition or a result? That's my question.
M. Laitman: It's a condition from above for you to reach it, and then you will feel what it is considered to be the result of the good work.
Question (Women Petah Tikva 33): (15:49) You answered a friend that when you build a building for the Creator, the meaning is that the person won't live there. So, several questions arose in me. When we build our connection in the Ten and we yearn to make room for the Creator, but we do live in the Ten, each of us.
So, how do we refine this work and to make room for the Creator?
M. Laitman: We can make room for the Creator only by feeling joy in that which we do for the sake of the Creator. And the body part, our desire to receive, does not let us reach this state of joy. It's as it is written, that since the light says to him that he doesn't need to take himself out of the general, because the whole collective is engaged in the building itself, meaning for a person to have a reward for his work.
Student: And then we feel the joy, and it turns out that we actually built a building that we're living in. And we're trying. It's like here we have to build a building that a person should not live there. It sounds different than what we're doing, meaning we need to build a Ten for the Creator. It's like outside of us completely or where we're not there?
M. Laitman: We need to build a building for the Creator. As it is written: As a matter and you delighted means that when a person decides that it's not worthwhile to work for himself, that is not worth building a construction for himself and begins to build for the sake of the Creator is considered that he has left the general public but has not yet arrived. He hasn't yet reached the end.
This is so because when he wants to work Lishma, the body comes and asks: What is this work for you?
At that time, he has no joy because the body objects to him and tells him that he should not exclude himself from the public, since all of the public engages only in their own buildings, meaning that man will have a reward for his work. As we say, delight them when they engage in a complete building, whereby the Creator imparts upon them joy which is a joy of Mitzvah, which is the light of faith called brighten them up with your light of your face. Then they will be able to complete their work, as the Creator certainly completes their work.
Question (Women Turkiye 7): (21:39) Could you explain the expression: It came out from the collective but has not come yet?
M. Laitman: He left the general public but has not yet arrived. He leaves the desire to receive but wants to reach the desire to bestow to build a tower for the Creator. But he hasn't reached it yet.
Question (Women Spain): (22:19) According to tradition, the name of the Creator is written with all its letters. Is it connected to it not being a complete building or is it just a matter of limiting his names?
M. Laitman: No, it's like tradition, like you said. That's how we write it.
Student: The names that we have that our parents gave us are the names that are incomplete because they were not chosen by something that comes from the Creator?
M. Laitman: No. It's not because of that that it's incomplete. It's not incomplete because the person has yet to be able to with all his heart relate to the Creator.
Question (Women Hebrew 2): (23:47) Engineers, architects, laborers. What are we actually? What category are we?
M. Laitman: We're building a building from our efforts, in desire and intention.
Student: And when will this building be? Will it be the end of correction actually when we reach it?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Women MAK 113): (24:31) It sounds like the building for the union. Is that right?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Women Moscow 5): (25:07) We were discussing before the lesson whether each Ten has its own character, whether each Ten as an organ in a person has its own purpose.
M. Laitman: Undoubtedly.
Student: And the question that comes out of this is that we have a very friendly Ten, very united, with a huge number of such desires. And in this regard, can we put all this into what we, rising up, always ask for other Tens, for the whole world? Or should we still find something in the Ten and so on? You still have something to correct in yourself too.
M. Laitman: All the Tens in particular. This entire section is not translated but is typed here.
Question (Kyiv): (26:22) What does it mean to turn to the Creator with a complete heart?
M. Laitman: With all our heart, all our prayers, all our goals, They are all for the Creator. We don’t yet have it. It’s like we’re not turning to the Creator still, and between us in complete bestowal, in absolute bestowal.
Student: So, how are all my thoughts, desires that are to the Creator?
M. Laitman: When you ask the Creator and depict yourself as being in such a desire, then the Creator will do that.
Student: I can imagine to myself that I'm in some desire, and this desire to bestow is standing above all the other desires that are revealed to me?
M. Laitman: Of course.
Student: Is it like a filter that I'm looking at all my desires with?
M. Laitman: Of course.
Student: Let's say all kinds of desires are awakened in me. How do I put bestowal before them?
M. Laitman: In the measure of your importance, the Creator's importance of someone, of something, you accordingly will be in such a degree.
Question (Women Spain): (28:28) Do we need to be concerned with which materials we use that are prohibited for use in building our building?
M. Laitman: If you do it with love, then all the materials will be correct.
Question (Women Moscow 8): (28:58) We understand that it focuses on understanding how far we are from the Creator and from that raise a prayer to Him for the force of correction and bestowal. How do we come to that state where we're truly like a person who has a death sentence and is constantly worried about his life? How do we come to joy?
M. Laitman: Only through persistent, constant prayer.
Student: How do we combine that prayer that is from no choice, that is from an outcry for the Creator to save us, and with that be in wholeness and joy?
M. Laitman: Try. There's not like some kind of rule here, simply your desire and your request. Eventually, it will come to such a combination between them that the Creator will hear, will listen, and enable you to be able to be in connection with Him.
Student: How do we include this in our Ten, to do it from the force of the Ten.
M. Laitman: What's the problem? Connect between you and with that ask the Creator.
Student: Meaning we need to in the workshop raise that point, talk about it, incorporate inside this point.
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Petah Tikva 6): (30:59) In the end of the article he says that we have to ask for joy. How can a person ask for joy when the goal is not for himself but that he will enjoy this joy? The joy is in order to build a building for the Creator.
M. Laitman: Yes, and in order to build a building for the Creator, a person must be in joy.
Student: So, it's the opposite of nature. A person wants to delight himself, he wants to enjoy.
M. Laitman: What does a person want to enjoy if he's not building it for the sake of the Creator?
Student: But then it should have come to him naturally once he has to ask for joy.
M. Laitman: That is specifically so that he knows what he's asking for and he will know how he's receiving it and then will know how to work with this.
Student: How will he not enjoy the joy for himself? It's a big building to build a house for the Creator.
M. Laitman: That's to begin with. When he approaches the building of a building to the Creator, then he is joyous from it.
Student: So, he's asking for joy. If I read what he says in the end there, that when a person wants to work in Lishma, but he falls in this work, then he has no joy and the body resists him. That's why he asks for joy. He says, delight them when he engages in a complete building. How this joy that he will receive will he not enjoy it for himself but for the sake of...
M. Laitman: If it comes from the Creator, then it will be exactly according to the address that we intend here, for him to have joy in order to build a building for the Creator.
Question (Women MAK 51): (33:25) When we talk about building a building for the Creator, where is my personal responsibility and the responsibility of all the members in the Ten? Is it a direct relationship or is everything founded on personal responsibility?
M. Laitman: It all depends on the quality of the Ten. We need to receive such states on our states, as being revealed in us from the Creator. We need to raise those in a person, and to ask Him to be in such states.
Student: What does the quality of the Ten depend upon? Can you improve it as a given?
M. Laitman: The quality of the Ten depends only on its components, to what extent they receive their work seriously to begin with. To what extent they yearn to come closer with this work to the Creator? To what extent they want to incorporate in the Creator so that they will help the Creator and He will help them and together build such a building, a spiritual building, one for everyone.
Question (Women MAK 25): (35:26) What do we need to add in our work every day so that we don't build an egoistic regular connection but rather a building for the sake of the Creator.
M. Laitman: We need to read this article and to try and do everything according to its written, and each time we will feel a little of something else, something new, and it will all be okay.
Question (Women Spain): (36:13) When we build this building, is patience and joy more important than the final result of the building?
M. Laitman: No, it's not less but this depends on that. To the extent in which we feel our correct participation in every friend and in all the friends in the building, thus we will advance.
Question (Women MAK 137): (37:04) How do we not forget to give back to the Creator the joy that we feel during meetings with the friends and during workshops?
M. Laitman: We need to support one another, all the members of the group, and then you'll have no dissent. That is how you need to aim yourselves.
Question (Women Ukraine 2): (38:00) The Kabbalists depict in their hearts this building?
M. Laitman: The building in the heart is the Malchut, because the heart is the desire. What we want to build in our heart, we want to build for the Malchut.
Student: I want in my heart to just give to the friends?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Women Turkiye 8): (38:40) Is the joy that we're yearning for supposed to be founded on faith above reason?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Petah Tikva 35): (39:07) What is the correct participation in the building? What is this correct participation?
M. Laitman: We will talk about that another time. That's certainly far from what we're thinking now.
Student: So how in our work, where we need to strengthen the connection between us and to work in advance for the Creator, to delight our work, so that every friend will be enjoying the work that we're doing. How can we tell ourselves that our participation is everything that we're doing, is truly as close as possible to this wholeness to bring that with the Creator.
M. Laitman: Try to connect and enter one another to such an extent in complete participation so that this is how it will happen.
Student: Another question. Many times the feeling is, and I don't know why the Creator does this, but in the morning lesson there's less joy among the friends, and when you see that all the friends… There's a complete table, there's joy and confidence. Why does the Creator give us that feeling?
M. Laitman: We will discover that gradually.
Question (Women Italy): (40:54) When we ask Him, we are two in one; we are together. Therefore, we are complete, I think. What and how should we ask Him to make Him live in us?
M. Laitman: Also in the same way, just higher Show him to what extent we are willing to connect between us so that our connection will be completely to bestow. A building of bestowal; that's what we need to build for the Creator.
Student: The building is our construction with our action to Him, only to Him. Is this building built from our actions towards the Creator?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Kyiv): (42:28) You said that we are right before the reception of the screen, that very soon we will acquire a screen. What does that mean?
M. Laitman: This means that we are capable of working together on bestowal, to help one another and think of the Creator.
Student: We are trying to work in bestowal. We are trying but how much this works out for us, we don't know. What does it mean that we will have a screen? How will that impact the work qualitatively?
M. Laitman: It means that we can bestow.
Question (Women Petah Tikva 33): (43:24) What does it mean to see the friends mostly in wholeness?
M. Laitman: That's really the main thing, where if we see our friends that are connected in one connection and only with the goal to reach through this connection, to adapt themselves to the Creator.
Question (Women MAK): (44:13) The intention for bestowal is built above the desire to receive, but the desire to receive remains. So, the real intention is only in thought, and the thought serves the desire. How does the desire to bestow awaken?
M. Laitman: The desire to bestow awakens gradually. It comes from the Creator through the group from the friends.
Question (Women Kavkaz 1) (45:38) There is a friend who asks a lot of questions most of the time, but we discuss a dozen, and she asks you only very seldom. I want to include her Hissaron for general discussion is it possible why does the Spirit have to place itself in the limited material position for?
M. Laitman: The human being in who this spirit resides
Student: If we can refine the question. Lately, when we read the introduction to the preface, what’s important for us? Or in the end we will connect both times?
M. Laitman: With time, it will connect on its own.
Question (MAK 24): (47:00) At the beginning of the article, it is said the prior to talking about something, we need to scrutinize who we're talking to and who we're appealing to. Can we say that we have a certain misunderstanding that the appeal is for each and every one of us?
M. Laitman: It's possible.
Student: And is it at that point that we need strengthening in reason or faith again?
M. Laitman: Here we need faith.
Question (Women MAK): (47:51) In my virtual Ten, the essence of the work is in prayer and thought, because we cannot meet. Physically, we are in different places in the world. And there are so many concerns at home that... So what is our work in raising the quality of the work and to build this temple for the Creator?
M. Laitman: Your work is like the work of the men. To the extent in which you understand it, are capable of doing it, use it.
Question (Women French): (49:06) It's difficult to completely stop receiving pleasure. Do we need a period in which we don't receive any pleasure whatsoever so that we will be able to succeed in receiving in order to bestow, or can we move directly to receiving for ourselves to a state where we can bestow if we build the screen correctly?
M. Laitman: Everything must be done in order. Hence, we cannot give anything to the Creator if we don't study first how to begin to bestow to friends.
Student: How do we make it stage after stage? Can we take any desire and work with it, the best part is for the benefit of the friends, and then we can gradually make a change?
M. Laitman: No, we will get there.
Question (Women English 1): (50:50) The complete building, it feels like the desire is directed towards bringing contentment for the Creator, and everything is towards the Creator, bringing contentment. It's like unity with the Creator. How to hold this continuously? Not just for the Ten, because it comes to a point where you recognize that the Ten is truly part of your soul, and the means to connect with the Creator. But how do we hold this when you have corporeal challenges outside the Ten, that can distract you from the Ten, so that you don't lose this bond that you have with the Creator?
M. Laitman: That's really the problem, but we have no other work. Only this.
Student: Can you tell us how do Kabbalists hold this challenge, because every friend here wants to reach the status of the kabbalist. How do kabbalists do this?
M. Laitman: When we come close to such a state, we begin more and more to ask from the Creator, and the Creator answers more. That's how we come to a state in which kabbalists ask from the Creator, and the Creator answers them, and that's how they connect together.
Student: We have humanity. Is that the point where the kabbalists begin to pray more for humanity, because most of the trouble comes from humanity.
M. Laitman: But because we want to just bestow contentment, adhesion to the Creator, then we have no complaint to the Creator, actually, besides wanting to be connected and to bestow from our connection upon Him.
Question (Women Spain): (54:47) In the article, he says that joy is a commandment to complete the work. So, what is written is to brighten them up with the light of your face. What does this mean for the Ten, and how to aim the light of your face in all the days that we work?
M. Laitman: In the connection between us, in the Ten, we need to connect, and to bestow from the central point of the connection between us to the Creator. That's what we need to do.
Student: Another question. Relating to the personal deficiency that bothers to complete the building, what is the deficiency in a person that bothers him to complete this building?
M. Laitman: It's a deficiency in connection and no more than that. Only a deficiency in connection.
Question (Women Turkiye 7): (56:40) It seems completely logical to me, right now, to bestow and love the friends, can I be deceiving myself?
M. Laitman: Yes, and that will be revealed soon.
Question (Women Rehovot 1): (57:00) How do we establish joy in the Ten no matter what's happening, that we remain in joy?
M. Laitman: Try, that's what you need to do.
Student: There are sometimes states where there's no feeling of joy. So, do I have to remain in every state, no matter what's happening, to bring Him this joy.
M. Laitman: I can't say. But that's what happens.
Question (Women German): (57:48) What's the meaning of a complete building, of a corrected Ten, for the sake of the whole system?
M. Laitman: So, what's the problem? We want to reach a complete building, and we want to pray for it, and we want the Creator to also hear it, and help us, assist us.
Question (Women Spain): (58:39) In the matter of the building question, is the connection between us above time and space?
M. Laitman: Yes.
Question (Women MAK 19): (59:39) Can we say that the foundation of the building is the hall of the souls of Israel?
M. Laitman: We will talk about all of this next time, I promise you. All the best to you. Be healthy. Until next lesson.
