Part 1 Rabash. What It Means that the Name of the Creator is “Truth”. 3 (1988)

1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:35) Will try to scrutinize the article before us what it means that the name of the Creator is truth, what is truth why specifically the Creator's name is truth, what do we get out of it? We are in a certain reality and we don't know what it is exactly, where are the world's, the created beings, what's happening with us, the changes, the incarnations, what are we going through. What's happening with us? Let's try to somehow scrutinize it from the article, please.

Reading Article: (01:58) What It Means that the Name of the Creator is “Truth”.

2. S. (31:12) What is life, when he’s in a conversation with the Creator?

R. What is life? When he understands who he is in contact with, and that he has someone to ask, and then someone to speak his heart to, that's how he advances in life, this is his life.

S. Who are the kings and ministers?

R. Those are the forces of nature that help the Creator and man connect.

S. How can you measure the importance of entering the vessels of bestowal?

R. As much as a person can rise above his nature of reception and come to bestowal. That's how he measures it.

3 S. (32:39) It was said in the article that the Creator awakens them and gives them desire. When a person begins this path he feels this awakening and wants to adhere to the Creator and to have the right intention and nothing but that. With time the Creator illuminates for him and gives him all kinds of sufferings and obstacles and a person fails at it. How not to fail, how to see this awakening the Creator has given him all the time?

R. A person needs to try and see that the Creator awakens him each and every moment, but it's done through various forces and various incidents, but in truth, the Creator is always a step ahead of a person and is working with him, so if a person doesn't stop and always notices that what he feels he gets from the Creator, then he scrutinizes how much he wants to connect, to yearn, and he doesn't come down from this force from this direction and will be constantly aimed to the Creator. He needs to understand in everything and in every moment that the Creator is constantly aimed at him, and here it depends on the person how much he's capable of seeing himself and aim toward the Creator.

S. A person is in the environment and receives this gift from the friends this yearning from the Creator. So when the Creator sends him this chilling down, how can he say, “oh, this is good, the Creator sending it to me?” This is probably what he wants and gradually comes out of the path.

R. There's no doubt that everything comes from the Creator. The question is what intention does the Creator send to him: either he wants to awaken him and pull him closer, or he wants to teach him like what we do with little children, we push them, we encourage them, and make an effort so it's clear that every time we're dealing only with the Creator, the Creator never lets go of us, so we just need to not leave Him.

S. How do you learn that the person always has to think of the Creator?

R. We learn that a person has to be aimed at the Creator and not stop even for a single moment the connection with him, with the Creator. It doesn't matter in what way he deciphers or even feels the attitude of the Creator to him as long as he doesn't let go of him.

S. There's fear that the point that the Creator awakens in us will close?

R. Nothing is closed, only from the side of a person.

S. What can a person do to not be afraid and not just go with the flow, but rather help the Creator in this work that he's educating a person?

R. Try all the time to be in direct connection one to another. More than that I don't know what to answer.

4. S. (38:42) What is that direct connection with the Creator that you just said, you're talking about a person needing to be directly connected with the Creator. What does that mean?

R. We should try to respond to every feeling that he receives from the Creator.

S. How to answer?

R. How to respond, he feels what the Creator awakens in him and he needs to respond in the same line.

S. Through the friends? Through the group?

R. By himself from the heart.

5. S. (39:30) A person that knows who he's calling upon is a person that knows what his deficiency is, what he's asking, for who, for what reason, is that a person that knows who he's calling upon?

R. No, not necessarily. That he knows he simply wants to be in connection with the Creator and that's why he keeps trying to be prepared to receive the address of the Creator to him.

S. So what's to scrutinize the deficiency?

R. Himself, he scrutinizes his deficiency and how he's aimed at the Creator.

S. And the adhesion with the Creator and not for his own benefit, means that if I ask correctly then I am actually not asking for an answer for my deficiency, but rather kind of like only for the Creator to awaken me to ask of Him, or to thank Him? Is the fact that He brought me closer for, by this I received the answer?

R. Yes.

6. S. (41:02) Why does a person lie, because he doesn't have a deficiency or he doesn't believe that the Creator will give him what he's asking for?

R. There are many reasons why a person lies to himself about not being in direct contact with the Creator, one to one. Either he's afraid or he doesn't know exactly, he has doubts, he has obligations, and he is afraid that he will have to change himself, by a lot. To make changes inside a person he can fill them, he can arrange them in such a way, that will distance him from the Creator.

S. So what does he do in that state where he feels there's a lie in his heart and he doesn't succeed to really talk with the Creator, and he really doesn't want to distance himself from the Creator?

R. Even when he feels falsehood in his heart and when he doesn't want to reply to the Creator directly and he seemingly conceals himself, nevertheless it's worthwhile to him not to let go and to continue to connect to the Creator.

S. How does a person who's an egoist talk truth with the Creator? He's lying all the time.

R. The Creator understands it and accepts it. This is a period that a person has to go through, and maybe he comes to change through that.

S. Can we hasten that, meaning he sees that there is something that's not kind of straight here? How does he come close to the Creator in such a state, to sit and wait for some time, the period will pass, and maybe the Creator will give him something?

R. No, no, he tries, and other than the Creator, he also has this society, and with the society, he tries to arrange himself, and establish himself, and reach a state where he will be aimed at the Creator in a different form. Through the friends, through the society, through working with them he gradually changes his attitude toward the Creator.

S. What is truth on behalf of the Creator? What is truth?

R. Bestowal, love; that is the truth.

7. S. (43:57) If I look back at my corporeal life and thank the Creator.

R. Hold on, hold on, let her translate, people don't understand.

S. If I look back at my corporeal life and justify what the Creator did with me and thank Him for that because I understand without that my point in the heart will not awaken. Then why am I still afraid of the difficulties?

S. How to correct it, Dear Rav?

R. You correct it by shutting your eyes and work on getting close to the Creator through the friends. What happens when we get close to Him through the friends? We build an infrastructure, a foundation, and based on this foundation we establish a wide-based connection, tight connection with the Creator. It doesn't depend only on our individual state but actually, it's wide.

8. S. (47:15) We learn like you say that we come closer to the Creator through the correct connection between us, but here the Rabash wrote that it looks like the Torah and Mitzvot that he observes is based on flesh and blood and not founded on the Creator. Meaning there's a matter of him being able to do this, he's doing it for the sake of the Mitzvot and not due to this gift of flesh and blood. What is the meaning?

R. He's doing it not for the Creator and himself, just to expand the connection between them, but also to receive some payment, some honor from the environment.

9. S. (48:13) It is written that the purpose of creation is, ‘to do good to his creations.’ How to make it such that it will be important for us that we are turning to the Creator, talking to Him, and not that we're receiving from Him? How do we make it so that it will be important for us that we are addressing the Creator, talking to Him, asking from Him, and not that we're receiving from Him?

R. Beautiful question. Good question. We will receive from the Creator whatever He decides, but how to return to Him, that's our choice. It's more important for us to turn to the Creator than to receive from Him anything, because it’s certain that whatever we receive from Him will be corrected in the right time, the right portion, the right measure, there’s no doubt there, but how do we turn to Him will be our concern. Think about it more.

10. S. (49:51) Many names and the names of the Creator are called upon the operations that are revealed from Him, now the angels are also named upon their operations. The names and the operations are these, the relations to what I need from Him? For example, I need mercy, does it have something to do with that?

R. You can ask. You can ask for Hassidim from the Creator.

S. Then actually all these names are the forces with which I can use with my deficiency, that I need to come close to?

R. Yes.

11. S. (50:47) Is it right that the conversation with the King, it's only brought into the ones who want the redemption of the Shechina?

R. Yes.

If a person has access to the Creator to converse with Him, what else does he need, meaning why does he need dissemination, why does he need to give examples to friends? R. If he's connected to the Creator, then from this connection he understands how to benefit the Creator and he becomes in this world, in this lower world, a representative of the Creator. He asks for dissemination, teaching all those things that help the Creator be revealed to the created beings.

S. That's clear to me, but in the article, it's written that it could be sufficient for him if he just goes in and talks to him and he doesn't need anymore.

R. No, this speaks of his personal desire, but those people who come closer to the Creator feel how much they have an opportunity to disseminate the knowledge of the Creator in the world and they do a lot of that.

12. S. (53:06) What does it mean to know the name of the Creator so He won't distance?

R. We'll learn those things, it's not our state yet. If we know how to turn to the Creator, means that we know how to approach Him, how to connect with Him, how to give Him what we want, and how to receive from Him. This speaks of the connection; of the systemic connection.

13. S. (54:00) How to understand that I'm asking the Creator for the good?

R. If you are turning through the friends, it's certainly true, correct. You must try and turn to Him through the friends. If the friends agree with your plea to the Creator then be certain that the Creator will also accept it.

14. S. (54:38) Is completeness a quality that is acquired adjacent to inclinations and is wholeness and completeness related to truth?

R. Wholeness is close to truth and wholeness and enters truth and they connect us one.

15. S. (55:25) If he doesn't know who he is calling upon, who else can he call upon if everything is the Creator? What falsehood can he find, and does this work in Lo Lishma, [not for her sake]?

R. You aim yourself toward the connection between you and toward receiving the answer, and then you will see how much your common desire will become the vessel in which you will receive the answer.

18. S. (59:39) When a person hears the Creator inside him in a true way and this prayer emerges from the depth of the heart, then he understands what it is to pray from the center of the ten, and all these tens can then connect, correct?

R. What's the question?

S. Am I not mistaken?

R. No, no, you speak correctly.

S. In the morning we did a workshop in the ten and today we tried to connect even more. We talked one after the other, we prayed and asked the Creator to help us nullify to the greatness of the Creator. This brought us to such a great ascent. 20. S. (01:03:17) The greatest conclusion from this article is that the full faith in the Creator is above everything. How to come to this complete faith?

R. Only through the connection between us can we reach a state where we adhere to the Creator, then we will solve all the problems, the conundrums,

and the doubts.

21. S. (01:04:10) You answered a friend from Moscow that if the Creator agrees with your appeal to the Creator then also the Creator will accept it. Does that mean that no matter what the friend is asking, that I need to accept her appeal so that the Creator will receive it?

R. Yes.

R. He gives us all kinds of exercises for which we can change, and turn, and inflict, and it's all for us. We will be slightly more sensitive to what we're getting from Him, each and every moment, you will see how this advances us, truly advances us. We must connect and accept, or rather take, receive from all the friends their qualities, their goals, everything, try to make calculations together, okay?

25. S. (01:08:09) We're doing a scrutiny in the ten, how can we depict to ourselves this partnership with the Creator in the ten. Is this a common work or is it personal?

R. It's recommended that you will have work towards the Creator together. Just as we're sitting now around the table and we wish to have a group. Within this group we need to scrutinize what do we want, to which goal, what would we like to change in ourselves, all those things are to talk about it to, be in it. That's the main work. If we can combine ourselves into one action, one demand will succeed. The Creator needs nothing from us, only for our vessel to be as special as possible and that he can influence him.

26. S. (01:09:53) Rabash and the article gives the greatness of the Creator and the feeling in a way that is really tangible, what he writes. The fact that he gets to talk with the Creator is enough and that gives vitality. How can we give greatness to the Creator, to one another, so that it will fill the friends like Rabash does in the article, so that will be life for them?

R. We speak amongst ourselves. We can raise the Creator to the height of all the degrees and see ourselves being under his feet, and whatever he wants from us, we need to yearn to know only that, and to do only that. It all depends on our connection. We do not understand how all the problems that we have ahead of each and every one of us, how they are solved immediately when we connect between us, it's simply crystal clear, instantaneous. We prepare for ourselves a place of lending, and the Creator, he comes.

S. Sometimes there's a feeling that each of us is trying to grab the Creator for himself.

R. That's a problem.

S. How do we come to a state where we are truly together? I see how I fall.

R. First we need to be connected. That's the preparation. The preparation for the prayer, for our turning to the Creator is when we are connected, and then from that point of connection between us we all turn to Him.

S. What's this connecting? I don't even know how to ask about this.

R. Connecting means that we wish to be, “as one man in one heart,” with one feeling, one goal and we want the Creator to cover us.

S. I have thought at the beginning of the lesson that instead of each coming and being driven to the lesson, I said to myself to make a switch and maybe the goal should be how to enter into more of a connection with the friends and to come from that kind of place.

R. Yes, correct, but we should not forget about it and constantly work specifically on that.

27. S. (01:13:00) It's written in the article Rabbi Aba said “This is one who calls upon Him, but he doesn't know who he is calling upon.” Why is the lie not called; what we call upon Him with, but Who we’re calling upon?

R. We need to know who we're calling upon, so we have the ability to bestow backward towards Him, and from this, we will have the depiction of the Creator that we need to establish.

S. Thank you, but, why is the falsehood not called to what I turned to Him?

R. That's not important, what's important is for the Creator to bestow to there, and when the Creator bestows to there, He arranges the connections and observes it, sustains it, corrects it, and then in the vessel that He prepared in us, He gives filling.

28. S. (01:14:55) You said that we need to be sensitive to the exercises with the Creator with us. What does it mean to be sensitive?

R. That I constantly ask each and every moment of my life to feel like I'm receiving it from the Creator.

S. You said that if we incorporate between us the qualities of each other, it helps us. How does it help us? Why does the incorporation between us to receive qualities from the Creator’s goals?

R. Where else can I receive what I need to receive from the Creator? Where is my vessel, if I'm not incorporated in the friends?

S. I understand now, in our ten there are friends that have had problems now for quite some time, and we address in the ten and it's not enough, we're not solving it. What are we missing to truly come up with a solution?

R. I don't know, there may be a lot of problems there, maybe multifaceted. Nevertheless, you have to pay attention to them, and the main thing is to connect. If there's connection between you, you can correct everything and receive from the Creator all the forces for the correction of the vessels, and the fulfillment of the vessels.

S. So to continue?

R. Have a revision, check why you haven’t done something before, why didn't we succeed, and this way to do better.

29. S. (01:14:07) When there's an understanding of the work, but not a deficiency, will the appeal be false?

R. When you have an understanding of the work, so why do you turn?

R. So you turn to have a deficiency.

S. I understand, but my head and my heart are blocked.

R. 31. S. (01:19:15) How can we come to true gratitude to the Creator and not just say words, but to really thank for all that he sends us, both for the good and the bad?

R. I don't think you can do it on your own, alone, but only through the connection. Only by connecting with the friends can we come to a state where each and every one who opens his heart and asks the Creator to correct it, to have the light of Hassidim first, and the feeling of Hochma in our hearts.

32. S. (01:20:28) Are the deficiencies of the friends that I collect intensify my deficiency, and that's how we get the prayer of many out of it?

R. Of course, that's the whole point of connecting.

S. These deficiencies that I collect, is that actually the necessity of the Creator, or are these deficiencies that they're expressing?

R. No, no, it's yearning for the Creator, if we advance we see how the Creator places questions in each one of us, and how we ask his questions, we are learning.

S. If I feel that really I have no deficiency for connection, for bestowal, for spirituality, and also I can't have such a thing unless the Creator gives me such a deficiency, and that's my deficiency actually, is it right to share with the ten this deficiency, or do I need to lie and actually bring as if I have a deficiency for connection?

R. As if you have a deficiency for connection. To lie, yes, but then when each one lies to his friend each one out of envy, lust, and honor, will get a desire for connection, that he learned from the friends and everyone will advance in this way and will truly receive a deficiency for connection between them and with the Creator.

S. And how from us lying do we come to this meeting from the Creator, that he has to come and save us because we have nothing in us?

R. You have a deficiency. You have a true deficiency. The first deficiency and that's enough to advance. All the rest depends on us.

S. So all that I feel that I don't have a deficiency, I need to swallow and keep to myself?

R. You have a deficiency for spirituality.

S. Maybe I do have a deficiency for spirituality, but for connection, and love, and bestowal. If the Creator doesn't give that to me, I leave it to myself and don't take it outwards?

R. No, one has that deficiency for connection, for bestowal, for love of friends, no one has that. We have to ask the Creator to give us those spiritual deficiencies.

S. Should I share this with my friends that this is my deficiency?

R. You could talk about it.

S. Will it be harmful if I share this?

R. No, no it should help his friend.

33. S. (01:23:49) To continue the questions that were asked. There are many friends that have problems in corporeality, and you answered that this friend has this problem, and this friend has a problem, and he doesn't skip anyone, and in my thoughts, I don't manage to hold everyone, and it feels to me like I need to ask for the connection for just those who are like part of the Holy Divinity, and I need to ask for them to continue to be part of the Shechina, and to connect, not on the face of this one or on that one?

R. Yes, yes.

34. S. (01:24:47) The fact that I don't understand the text because of the high language and my Hebrew, I want to know how does the text work on a person that understands the language, understands the refined words?

R. Before the lesson I need to read the text that we're going to be studying in the lesson at least twice. That's how it's written, I didn't invent that condition, so please understand and decide about a meeting, a phone meeting, or in…. that you need to read, and it's recommended even twice the article, and you'll feel completely different than what you understand during the lesson. I highly, highly recommend it.

35. S. (01:26:15) Continuing the question about deficiencies, I actually come to the ten and I feel a deficiency, but this feels like a certain corporeal lack, just like you said now, the more internal deficiency is the truth and the yearning of that friend to the Creator. There it's like a person has children and one of them limps because that child develops a certain additional sensitivity and no matter what I see in this world you feel the uniqueness, do you understand me, you know?

R. I understand, calm down and ask.

S. It's actually that point, that spiritual point that I feel within the friend, eventually I need to kind of feel like I have to constantly turn with it, with her lack to the Creator, this unique lack of hers, and to turn with it to the Creator?

R. Yes.

S. Specifically from this oppositeness of form, the ascents and the descents and the sharp manner of all these states, eventually a person comes to some point where it opens before him and he feels here, now I prefer the connection there's the scale, and upon this scale is everything that happens, and his connection with the Creator. And this is where he chooses connection with the Creator? Each time?

R. Yes, talk about it with the friends. You're not asking questions, those are not questions they are impressions.
