Selected Excerpts Remembrance Day - 2019

Original lesson date: 05/02/2019

Reader: Dear friends, in the first part of the lesson, we will hear a lesson by Rav in commemoration of the Holocaust Memorial Day, that is today. It's based on excerpts from the topic. So, from the Holocaust Remembrance Day from May 2019, we will also read excerpts on the topic. Tens that finish ahead of time are welcome to start a short workshop on the main points that we read.

Reading: (00:55) Lesson Topic: Holocaust Remembrance Day - 2019 Selected Excerpts

1. Baal Hasulam. Introduction to the Book of Zohar 39
The Creator’s desired goal for the creation He had created is to bestow upon His creatures, so they would know His truthfulness and greatness, and receive all the delight and pleasure He had prepared for them

2. Baal Hasulam. The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee) 23
The purpose of creation lies on the shoulders of the whole of the human race, black, or white, or yellow, without any essential difference.

3. Shem MiShmuel, Portion Haazinu

The intention of creation was for all to be one bundle, to do the Creator’s will. But the matter was spoiled because of the sin of Adam HaRishon, until even the best in those generations could not unite together in order to serve the Creator. Rather, they were individuals, alone. The correction of this matter began in the generation of Babylon, when separation occurred in the human race, meaning the beginning of the correction of gathering and assembling people to serve the Creator, which started with Abraham and his descendants. Abraham would roam call out the name of the Creator until a great community gathered unto him, who were called “the people of the house of Abraham.” And the matter grew until until it became the assembly of the congregation of israel. In the future, the end of correction will be when all become one bundle to do the Creator’s will wholeheartedly.

4. Zohar, Pinhas, Item 152
Israel among the nations is like a heart among the organs. And as the organs of the body cannot exist in the world for even a minute without the heart, all the other nations cannot exist in the world without Israel.

6. Baal HaSulam. A Handmaid That Is Heir To Her Mistress
A branch that extends from the internality is the people of Israel, who have been chosen as an operator of the general purpose and correction. It contains the preparation required for growing and developing until it moves the nations of the worlds, too, to achieve the common goal. The branch that extends from the externality is the nations of the world. They have not been imparted the qualities that make them worthy of receiving the development of the purpose one at a time. Rather, they are fit to receive the correction at once and to the fullest, according to their Higher Root.

7. Baal Hasulam. “The Arvut”, Item 28
It is written, “Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant,” meaning make a covenant on what I am telling you here, that ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples. This means that you will be My treasure, and sparks of purification and cleansing of the body shall pass through you unto all the peoples and the nations of the world, for the nations of the world are not yet ready for it. And at any rate, I need one nation to start with now, so it will be as a remedy for all the nations. And therefore he ends, “for all the earth is Mine,” meaning all the peoples of the earth belong to Me, as do you, and are destined to cleave to Me. But now, while they are still incapable of performing that task, I need a virtuous people.

8. Sefat Emet, Shemot [Exodus], Portion Yitro [Jethro]
The children of Israel became responsible for the correction of the entire world by the power of the Torah. Everything depends on the children of Israel. As they correct themselves, so are all creations drawn after them.

9. Rabash, Art. 20 (1985). One Who Hardens His Heart
All the hatred that exists against Israel is only because they are the Creator’s people, as the sages said “what is Mount Sinai, the mountain from which the hatred of all the nations of the world came down”.

10. Baal Hasulam. The Writings of the Last Generation
It is a fact that Israel is hated by all nations, whether for religious reasons, racial reasons, capitalist reasons, communist reasons, or for cosmopolitan reasons, etc. It is so because the hatred precedes all reasons, but each merely resolves its hatred according to its own psychology.

11. Baal HaSulam. Newspaper "The Nation"
Through hard and dreadful labor-pains, from amidst the venom of hatred that had struck the nations to obliterate us from the face of the Earth, the destruction of millions of our brothers, and they are still prepared to continue. The sadistic inclination within them is not satisfied, and the calamity is doubled for we cannot delude ourselves that all this is but a passing, transitory phenomenon.

12. Baal Hasulam. The Writings of the Last Generation
The world erroneously considers Nazism a particular upshot of Germany. In truth, it is the upshot of a democracy and socialism that were left without manners, religion and justice. Thus, all nations are equal in that; there is no hope at all that Nazism will perish with the victory of the allies. Tomorrow, the British will adopt Nazism, since they too live in a world of democracy and Nazism.

13. Baal HaSulam, "Introduction to The Book of Zohar", item 71
In such a generation, all the destructors among the Nations of the World raise their heads and wish primarily to destroy and to kill the Children of Israel, as it is written (Yevamot 63), “No calamity comes to the world but for Israel.” This means, as it is written in the above corrections, that they cause poverty, ruin, robbery, killing, and destruction in the whole world.

14. Maor Eynaim, Pinhas
Our sages said (Yevamot 63a), “No calamity comes to the world if not for Israel,” and “No good comes to the world but for Israel.” The guidance of all the worlds is given to Israel. The word “For” indicates a path, a track which was established as a pathway for the abundance. Alternately, or the opposite of it, a corruption of the path elicits judgments and calamities, since there is no unity. When Israel are separated from their collective root, which is Ein Sof [infinity/no end], the whole world and all created beings are also, God forbid, separated.

18. Siach Yitzhak, Part 2, Assortments 1
The essence of Creation and choice, and the correction and corruption of the world are all dependent upon Israel.

19. Rav Kook, “The Letters of Ra’aya”
I strongly believe that all this turmoil in the world at this time of transition in which we live, has not come but mainly for Israel’s sake. We have been chosen for a great and holy task, to carry out through knowledge and understanding, namely to build ourselves and the entire broken world together with us.

20. Raayah Kook, Essays of the Raayah, Vol. 1
If it impossible to blow a worthy Shofar [“horn,” a symbol of a call for redemption] for redemption, the enemies of Israel come and blow in our ears for redemption. They force us to hear the voice of the Shofar; they warn and make noise in our ears and give us no rest in the exile…One who did not hear the voice of the first Shofar and did not want to listen to the voice of the second, regular Shofar, for his ears were blocked, will hear the voice of the unworthy and unfit Shofar, the foul [non-kosher] one. He will hear against his will.

21. Baal Hasulam, The Last Generation
I have already delivered my message in 1933, and I have already spoken with the leaders of the generation, but my words were not received at that time. And even though I shouted and warned them concerning the destruction of the world, it made no impression on them. But now, after the Atom bomb, I think that the world will believe me that the end of the world is soon approaching, and quickly, and Israel will be burnt first, before the rest of the nations, just like it was in the previous war. Therefore it is good to awaken the world, that they may receive their only remedy, and live.

23. Baal Hasulam. The Peace
As long as self-love and egoism exist among the nations, Israel, too, will not be able to serve the Creator in purity, as bestowal, as it is written in the explanation of the words, "And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests," in the essay, "The Arvut." And we see it from experience, for the coming to the land and the building of the Temple could not persist and receive the blessings that God has sworn to our fathers.

And this is why they said, "God did not find a vessel to hold the blessing," meaning thus far Israel did not have a vessel to hold the blessing of the fathers. Therefore, the oath that we can inherit the land for all eternity has not yet been fulfilled, because world peace is the sole vessel that enables us to receive the blessing of the fathers, as in the prophecy of Isaiah.

24. Rav Kook, The Purpose of Israel and Its Nationality
The Creator’s service that is given to Israel, its purpose is the assent of all of humanity, which cannot ascend if not through the ascension of the people of Israel, such that the blessing will manifest in it and enable it to provide the blessing to the world, in turn.

25. Baal Hasulam, The Arvut, 20
it is upon the Israeli nation to qualify itself and all the people of the world through Torah and Mitzvot. To develop until they take upon themselves that sublime work of the love of others, which is the ladder to the purpose of Creation, which is Dvekut with the Creator.

26. Baal HaSulam. The Love of God and the Love of Man
The Israeli nation was established as a passageway. This means that to the extent that Israel cleanse themselves by keeping the Torah, so they pass their power on to the rest of the nations. And when the rest of the nations also sentence themselves to a scale of merit, then the Messiah will be revealed. That is because the role of the Messiah, is not only to qualify Israel to the ultimate goal of adhesion with Him, but to teach the ways of God to all the nations, as the verse says, “And all nations will flow onto Him.”

27. When Israel Engages in Torah the Force of Nations is Broken
There is nothing in the world that breaks the force of idol worshipping nations as when Israel engages in Torah. As long as Israel engages in Torah, the right strengthens and the power and courage of the idol worshipping nations break. This is why the Torah is called “strength,” as it is written, “The Lord will give strength to His people.” When Israel does not engage in Torah, the left intensifies and the power of the idol worshipping nations grows. They suckle from the left, rule over Israel, and inflict upon them laws that they cannot endure.

28. Zohar for All. Shemot 96-98
There is nothing in the world that breaks the force of nations… and all the nations and their kings will seek counsel together against them. They will awaken several evil sentences, unite against them, and trouble after trouble will come, and the last makes the first forgotten.

29. Baal HaSulam, "Introduction to The Book of Zohar" 71

And through our many faults, we have witnessed to all that is said in the above-mentioned Tikkunim (corrections), and moreover, the judgment struck the very best of us, as our sages said (Baba Kama 60), “And it start with the righteous first.” And of all the glory Israel had had in the countries of Poland and Lithuania, etc., there remains but the relics in our holy land. Now it is upon us, relics, to correct that dreadful wrong. Each of us remainders should take upon himself, heart and soul, to henceforth intensify the internality of the Torah, and give it its rightful place, according to its merit over the externality of the Torah.

And then, each and every one of us will be rewarded with intensifying his own internality, meaning the Israel within us, which is the needs of the soul over our own externality, which is the Nations of the World with us, that is, the needs of the body. That force will come to the whole of Israel, until the Nations of the World within us recognize and acknowledge the merit of the great sages of Israel over them, and will listen to them and obey them.

And will fulfill, as it is written (Isaiah 14:2): “And the people shall take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord.” And also Isaiah 49:22 “And they shall bring your sons in their arms and your daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders”. As written in the Zohar, Nasso, and the sages, “By your connecting (composition), which is the book Zohar, they shall come out of exile, with Rachamim (mercies)”.

30. Baal HaSulam. A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar
Our generation is the generation of the days of the Messiah. This is why we have been granted the redemption of our holy land from the hands of the foreigners. We have also been rewarded with the revelation of The Book of Zohar, which is the beginning of the realization of the verse, "for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord." "And they shall teach no more for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them."

Yet, with those two, we have only been rewarded with giving from the Creator, but we have not received anything into our own hands. Instead, we have been given a chance to begin with the work of God, to engage in Torah and Mitzvot Lishma. And then we will be granted the great success that is promised to the generation of the Messiah, which all the generations before us did not know. And then we will be rewarded with the time of reception of both the complete attainment and the complete redemption.

31. Baal HaSulam. Introduction to the Book Panim Meirot UMasbirot. Item 5
It is written in The Zohar: “With this composition, the Children of Israel will be redeemed from exile.” Also, in many other places, only through the expansion of the wisdom of Kabbalah in the masses will we obtain complete redemption. They also said, “The Light in it reforms him.” And they were intentionally meticulous about it, to show us that only the Light enclosed within it as apples of gold in silver carvings, in it lies the cure that reforms a person. Both the individual and the nation will not complete the aim for which they were created, except by attaining the internality of the Torah and its secrets.

32. Baal HaSulam. Introduction to the Book Panim Meirot UMasbirot. Item 5
It is the great expansion of the wisdom of truth within the nation that we need first, so we may merit receiving the benefit from our Messiah. Consequently, the expansion of the wisdom and the coming of our Messiah are interdependent. Therefore, we must establish seminaries and compose books to hasten the distribution of the wisdom throughout the nation.

33. Baal Hasulam, Messiah’s Horn
There is a precondition for the redemption—that all the nations of the world will acknowledge Israel’s law, as it is written, "and the land shall be full of the knowledge," as in the example of the exodus from Egypt, where there was a precondition that Pharaoh, too, would acknowledge the true God and His laws, and would allow them to leave. This is why it is written that each of the nations will hold a Jewish man and lead him to the Holy Land. And it was not enough that they could leave by themselves. You must understand from where the nations of the world would come by such a will and idea. Know that this is through the dissemination of the true wisdom, so they will evidently see the true God and the true law.

And the dissemination of the wisdom in the masses is called "a Shofar." Like the Shofar, whose voice travels a great distance, the echo of the wisdom will spread all over the world, so even the nations will hear and acknowledge that there is Godly wisdom in Israel.

34. Zechariah 8:23
Thus saith the LORD of hosts: In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, shall even take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying: We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'

35. Rav Kook, Israel’s Vocation and Its Nationalism
Only when the Torah is exercised in Israel will complete peace and faithful love come, and the pure feeling of recognizing the brotherhood between people will develop… When that development is completed within us, at a degree that merits being a role model to many, all the nations will recognize it, and the blessing of peace will begin to dwell in the world.

Reader: Now we will move on to the next part of the lesson.

Reader: We're going to have a special lesson about the Holocaust Remembrance Day. You can ask questions in our website kab.TV, selected questions will be asked during the lesson.

M. Laitman: (26:15) Yes, this is a special day, a very sad day, both in our history and the history of the entire humanity, because we are connected to each other. Today is May 2nd, 2019, and let's talk about the reasons for this day, and the results that we have to learn. Otherwise, it will just go by without leaving any impression. We can keep on going because the deeds of the fathers, becomes a sign to the sons. What I'm trying to say is we're talking about all these things from the perspective of the wisdom of Kabbalah. I'm not talking about history or geography.

Things that people who are not related to understanding reality, the way they think about it, and how they accept it out of their ego and their own calculations, that's not important for us. We should look at the actions that are done by the Upper Light.

Accordingly, the actions that we should perform as His partners and to learn from what has happened, how we should behave correctly. That's the whole thing. Even though we cannot yet rise above the earthly calculations - and we're still each in his own ego, and in the ego you have oneself, one's family, his country, his nationality, the way he looks at the world, media relation and all the events we're going to talk about.

But we have to try to rise to a higher level, where the truth is, and not to be affected by our ego in all its various forms, and try to see the law of nature, the way it works, and how we have to integrate with it, so that we can activate it correctly.

So, I'm going to ask all our friends from all the different countries to also rise above the earthly level, the education that each has gone through, whether you're aware of it or not, and this way we'll advance. Why? There's a need for it. Otherwise, we wouldn't talk about this thing at all.

But everything that occurred in the history of the people of Israel we see how humanity relates to it as an important thing, as a prominent thing. Because everything that happens, happens according to the right guidance and the precise commands of the Upper Force. We have to learn what's going on here. The Creator is the Good That Does Good in each and every action of His, the smallest and the most general one. This is why we have to understand that besides that “There is none else besides Him,” “the Good that does good,” He acts on us all the time, and there's no exception here.

That's why if in our research, we do not rise above our nature to mark the Creator as something else than “There Is None Else Besides Him”, “the Good that does good,” then we'll be wrong, and all our research won't benefit, and it will lead us back again to the reality, bitter reality. We have to talk about today. That's one thing. One more thing is that the Creator feels what we feel. If we are connected and we're glad about it, He is glad. Meaning, He has no senses as each of us has or all of us together. He is within us.

M. Laitman: (32:00) We can say, it's like a mother or a parent. A mother is inside her little child, her beloved son. She is entirely in him. That's where she wants to see her entire life. That's where the Creator is.

Meaning, if we are connected then He has a place, and He seemingly exists. If we are not connected, there is no place for His existence. And then to that extent, we feel the opposite action of His. Meaning, as it's not His, rather, the action is felt in us. We're going through it according to the extent of our connection or the disconnection between us. That's on the one hand.

On the other hand, we have to understand that there are good times, and there are bad times. In the process we go through, there is more sensitivity or less sensitivity to the connection between us, to the phenomena that we go through.

Meaning, it's not always, not everything in the system is linear, as if it exists without any change. That's because all in all, we put together different vessels in the system, in different speed, and we're all in different degrees of coarseness. And that's why, even though we would like to do everything in the best possible way, but still, sometimes we're in ascents, sometimes we're in descents, and we go through changes throughout the way. And even if we take the four phases of direct light, we see that development is in many ways.

Sometimes, it's Ohr Hochma, sometimes Ohr Hassadim, sometimes you get empty of the light of Hochma, sometimes you get empty of the light of Hassadim. There's a restriction, there's a screen, etc.

Meaning, the purpose of our development is to bring us to a state, where we resemble, when we rise above our entire nature, and we'll be completely, completely independent except for the connection between us. We'll depend only on the connection between us. And this takes many different steps.

Again, the Creator feels what's happening between us, He lives in us like a mother who lives in the connection between her children. And this is His place. That's called Shechina, divinity. And He feels that. That's called the One who dwells there. And His purpose is to bring us to a state, where the connection between us is tight, so that we are as one man in one heart. So we'll be simultaneously in a great distance between us, but still close. That everything between us, nothing between us disappears, everything is eternal.

All we do is rise above the difference between darkness and light, between the shattering and the connection. And in the gap between the two, we accept our spiritual existence and we keep it. This is the way we have to look at the subject, we're about to talk about. So, I'm going to pass the mic back to you. You're going to talk, and we're going to discuss it together, scrutinize these things. Go ahead.

Reader: Excerpt number one, Baal HaSulam, Introduction to the Book of Zohar.

Reading: (37:26) 1. Baal Hasulam. Introduction to the Book of Zohar 39 - Twice

The Creator’s desired goal for the creation He had created is to bestow upon His creatures, so they would know His truthfulness and greatness, and receive all the delight and pleasure He had prepared for them.

M. Laitman: (38:17) If the Creator would relate to us in a direct manner, we would certainly be heard. We would hear Him. And together with Him, or the way He would like it, we would perform all His instructions. But, because His purpose is to bring us to recognition, to understanding this whole reality He made as a connection between us. That’s why we have to see the relation between us as a relation with Him. To the extent that we connect between us, we'll be ready for the connection with Him.

When the purpose of our whole development is to reach the right connection, the good and whole connection, and this connection is expressed in equivalence of form between Him and us, and in the equivalence of form between us to the extent that we can connect between ourselves and to bring ourselves to recognition, to understanding, to connection above all the differences, even though these differences remain there. Accordingly, we're going to feel how we connect to Him. Because the Creator, all in all, will be revealed as the sum-total of the right connections between us. That's basically, what we can say. Now, you can ask questions. You should run these questions and manage them. So if you want me to answer, I'm willing to answer. Go ahead.

Reader: If you have a question, raise your hand. From the world Kli, too.

M. Laitman: It's just that we have a lot of subjects here about this. So you should see if you should ask about this or not. Don't get stuck on some small thing. Go ahead.

Reader: Okay, so we'll continue to excerpt number two from the “Arvut,” Baal HaSulam.

Reading:
(40:41) 2. Baal Hasulam. The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee) 23
The purpose of creation lies on the shoulders of the whole of the human race, black, or white, or yellow, without any essential difference.

M. Laitman: (40:55) This means that maybe there is, well, of course there is, and we're going to talk about it, the matter of the gradual correction in the connection between us when everyone takes part in it, all the people in the world. Everyone in the world means all the souls that come down to the level of this world, and all of them are going to have to sooner or later join that connection.

In the center of this connection, the Creator is revealed. What we have to do in the connection between us is reach a certain extent of discernment between the plus and minus, between the great egoistic desire that has to be revealed and be prominent between us as pushing us away from it, expanding us.

At the same time, we have to build the connections as much as we can, as much as we're willing to, we're asking for a connection between us, despite the ego that wants to separate us.

So to the extent that we, if we reach a connection between us, despite the separating forces between us, to that extent, if we can reach a certain level, a degree of the difference between the forces that separate and the forces that connect, then between the two we start feeling the spiritual reality, the upper reality. This reality is felt gradually, being revealed for a person who attains it. And the means for it is to be in a group, and in this group to keep these two rules, these two conditions: reaching the best possible state of connection, as much as you can on the one hand, on the other hand, to reveal at the same time states of separation, distance, hatred, and have these connections upon it. When you see all the disturbances that occur between us as those exact signs upon which we have to connect, and reveal the connection until you reach connections of love - meaning in the beginning it's only some resistance that pushes you away, and we have to reveal upon it connection, later you get more and more problems, because if you're bigger than your friend, your inclination is bigger, and the more we advance, the more disconnection we feel until we reach hatred - and accordingly we have to work on the connection until we come to love. These two emotions, these two states, these two factors have to exist, because in the potential gap between them we can start feeling the upper reality and later the Creator dwelling in it. Go ahead.

Reader: Excerpt number three, Shem MiShmuel.

Reading: (44:59) 3.

M. Laitman: (46:15) Here we see that, when can we start to talk about humanity starting to develop? From the time that hatred started to be revealed between them. That started in the generation of Babylon when separation occurred. From that time and on, we can start talking about human society being established, conformed in the right way. That's how we see that from that time on, we talk about the different nations. Before it was like families or small groups that belonged to the families. From that time on, we can start talking about the formation of nations, and then we're talking about that method Abraham revealed. For him, it was required to reveal it, because he was a big priest, a big spiritual leader following his father Terach in the nation in Babylon that actually included all the nations or most of the nations that were willing to reveal the development as hatred, as aversion, and willing to develop. From that time, we can talk about the history of humanity. When hatred has been revealed between them, they started having the opportunity to understand the reason for the hatred between the people.

There's a verse, it's written that they were all as one people before that, and then hatred has been revealed. And then Abraham revealed that it's the law of nature, it has to be this way. But at the same time, when it's the law of nature, it comes from the Creator, he revealed that there's a Creator that helps humanity develop. And this is a very important thing, its principle, what Abraham revealed. Before that, the attitude of the  was - bring its presents, and then you'll be better off. And basically, that's what happens today in all the different religions. If you bring presents to the , you will be better off, you will have good things. But what Abraham revealed is that the  does not require your presents, what it does require is your change.

You have to change, you have to change yourself, you have to change your society, you have to change the world to advance towards Him, and in your change you'll reach equivalence with Him, meaning you have to transform from one end to the other. And that's the principal difference that Abraham revealed, the demand that comes to us from the , as opposed to all the different religions and beliefs, they talk about what you should do in order to calm down seemingly, it's like the primitive people have done from the dawn of history, bowing down to trees, to rocks, we call that idol worshipping. The difference between idol worshipping and the wisdom of Kabbalah is that the wisdom of Kabbalah requires that a person would change, change his nature. Of course, this is by the , it's waiting for it and it takes part in it, meaning to be a partner with the , and in this partnership you reach adhesion with Him, whereas all the other methods talk about - if you do this and that, you'll get paid. Meaning, you don't have to make any internal changes, what you should do is bring your gifts by carrying out the 's desire, by an external way, as if you serve someone, then you'll get paid for it.

In the wisdom of Kabbalah, we're talking about us having to reveal how opposite we are from the  according to its demand, its requirement, to be in the correction of the general soul, we call it Adam HaRishon, and when we reach the connection, then the connection itself between us and with the Creator, this form itself is the gift, is the reward. So Abraham revealed it and he started teaching it, and since then we know that when the wisdom of Kabbalah began, the history of humanity began. All the rest about them, it's written that if you don't keep it, you're like a beast, if you do, you're called a Kabbalist, who accepts the method of correction that comes to us from the , and if they are with it, we're in a mutual connection. Questions, if anyone wants?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (53:00) I'm thinking about it. If someone's watching this lesson, for example, it sounds like on the one hand, we're saying that we have to go through the correction; and furthermore, we're responsible for what's going on in the world, and if we don't do it, then we're responsible for the consequences. On the other hand, the Creator is the one making the connection. It doesn't show the Creator in such a positive light.

M. Laitman: I've talked about it already, that the Creator lives in the connection between us. If the connection between us - for the time being, it has to develop all the time, starting with the shattering that the Creator has performed, ending in the complete connection - when we are united, if we go according to the degrees of connection that should be carried out, everything's okay. If we don't, we discover on ourselves that state that we caused, if we're not correcting the connection between us each and every moment, what we must correct, then we feel the gap between what we want and what we have.

Suppose, today I need to be corrected in 20% in the connection between me and the entire humanity, and all I reached is 15% of connection. So this minus 5% is revealed to me as pressures and problems. Those are forces that are about to hasten my development, so I can close this gap between what is required and what exists. So these forces are not about a good Creator or a bad Creator. It's a rule. He made the rule, and everything is accordingly. So that's the system. And if we're talking about the good and the evil, about the Creator in our system, we have to be practical about it. It's not about how much I feel good or bad. It's about how much these good or bad forces that are revealed in me help me advance correctly. But from the perspective of the Creator, we're not talking about Him wanting to do bad things. It's a rule. It's a law of nature. If we obey it accordingly, we feel the extent of connection between us, the intensity of the connection between us. That's all. To such an extent that today we are in the memorial day for the Holocaust. And there's seemingly no worse day in our history. So, what can you say about it? It's the Creator who did it? It's human beings who did it. They had to correct the connection between us, between themselves, and they didn't correct it. To such an extent they did not correct it that they revealed these great troubles.

M. Laitman: (56:27) Now, the question is, how can we learn from it? If we skip from Babylon directly to our days, in between we have so many such states. And they're all the same, the Creator, meaning this general law of nature. It's a system that reveals the need for connection between us. And if we don't hear it, we don't obey it, we don't hurry to have such a connection, accordingly, we'll get results. And we caused these results to occur. Here you can't talk about the Creator, why did He do it this way or didn't do? No, it's us. We did it. And there are many verses about it. We are the ones who caused it, not Him. Why?

Because if there are conditions, and they're well known to us, and we don't keep them, then by that we're actually drawing forces that direct us to the goal in a more strict way, more clear way, concrete way. That's why to our matter here, the question, we're not going to go through all the history of all the exiles, Egypt, the desert, the Holy Temple, all these things. Always you had the pressures and the problems. But if we're talking about the Holocaust, it's already about a very special state when the people of Israel have reached a state in history of connection with Adam HaRishon not in the degree of Aleph, Bet, or Gimel. It's the degree Dalet, the fourth degree of the required connection, and did not keep and does not keep.

Still today, they don't keep it. So, what should we expect today, wait for, or be afraid of? Since worse states are about to come, even worse than what we had then. We have to learn from history, but learn in a way that, God forbid, we don't repeat it. Because according to what we are learning, it's returning. The way it returned, the way it was in Babylon and in Egypt and after Egypt—every time the blows came, time and again, each and every moment, when we don't keep the connection between us, to the extent that it's revealed as being required.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (59:39) Working on the connection, it's only for the points in the heart, or it's for all of mankind?

M. Laitman: It was for all the people of Israel, when they came out of Egypt, and they kept it until the destruction of the Second Temple in various forms. We can learn about it, but it's the same principle that the more we connect between us according to the requirement of the time, then we'll be in a good state. And when we don't connect, what we get is blows, warnings, and that's how it happens. Now the question is, from when did we start talking about a collective punishment for the entire people of Israel, and what happens to us and what should happen to us here and now? That's the question. And that's a problem. We are going through such degrees, when we're not only responsible over ourselves, rather the whole world. We're responsible over the whole world, as Baal HaSulam writes. That's why you see that what happened in Europe with the people of Israel. We're going to talk about how the Nazis were trying to help the Jews to make a country, before they had one. It's amazing how these forces can help the connection, but if you don't use them properly, they still help the connection, but in a negative way. That's the way it is. We have to see today, too, that if we don't use the forces that today awaken us, they're going to awaken in a negative way. They're already awakening in a negative way, and they're going to be much worse than before. Today is being awakened in a different extent. It's not only in Europe, it's all over the world. You can see it. That's why we best understand, hurry up and spread this knowledge, the notion, the fact, and try to correct, as long as we can still do it.

Student: I also come from a family that are Holocaust survivors, and I see what the friends and other people are writing. One simple message that we can deliver to the people of Israel on this day, not regarding responsibility, but something that will speak to the hearts of the people.

M. Laitman: If we connect, the , it passes through us to all the nations of the world, to the entire reality, and everyone goes into a gradual connection, more and more, and then everything calms down and the Creator starts to be revealed in the created beings, and the world will reach the correction it deserves. If we do not connect between us, I'm talking at least about the people of Israel and the land of Israel, because these are the best conditions for connection, then if they don't accept this stage of being as one man in one heart, where all of Israel are friends, “love thy friend as yourself,” which is our destiny, when we, in the connection between us, can affect all the nations of the world, this is the meaning of being as a light upon the nations, and then they can connect, which is what they're demanding.

They themselves don't understand it, but that's what they're demanding of us, and by that they say that we cause bad things to happen all over the world, and if we don't do it, only worse things will come. We're going to go through stages that are, we're, if we're talking about the Memorial Day for the Holocaust, what's going to happen is much worse, God forbid.

Question (Moscow): (01:05:15) You said that this Memorial Day for the Holocaust is a result of the connections that had to be corrected between people, and they didn't do it. What can we learn from this situation? Did the people know that they had the connection, that they had to correct the connection? And did the Kabbalists make all the efforts required to pass on the connection to everyone, the need for connection?

M. Laitman: From what I know, yes, they did all that they could. And there are times also Rav Kook did what he could, and also Baal HaSulam, and he writes that he really, he cried out before the governments and everyone, but they didn't listen. We can compare it with what's going on today, that no matter how much you talk about this thing, everyone's deaf to it, deaf at heart, so much so that it's impossible to even describe why is it going on, why is it happening this way, because this is something that's related to the entire world. Didn't the world suffer during the Second World War? Today we're talking about the Holocaust Memorial Day. We're talking about six million Jews that perished, but we're not talking about about 40 million people from the rest of the world, what happened to them, and is that not because of us? And I'm not afraid to talk this way, because really, laws are laws.

The rules of nature, of history are as they are, and why not think about that, too? Why on the Holocaust Memorial Day should we not talk about the problem that we have caused the world, and that today we, too, have to give account to ourselves what's going on with the world that's advancing toward the next Holocaust? And this isn't something that's only related to Jews, but this regards all nations. What about that? Where is our responsibility? We're responsible, and it says so, and we see that that's how it is. Even if we don't follow the Torah, we simply follow the laws, the rules of nature, of human society that are revealed. We see how society is entirely directed against the people of Israel, and everyone feels that this is something that's coming from the Jews. And the Jews, they can say whatever they want. They're saying, like, a child that, suppose, the cup broke, and he says, it wasn't me, it fell. It's really so. I feel that this is how the people of Israel are regarding the rest of humanity. How can we say that it fell and broke by itself? We are facing very clear forces of nature. Are we going to do something about it finally or not? And it's all in our hands. And mankind is instinctively operated in such a way that it's starting to show us more and more the different signs of rejection, hatred. It speaks out clearly that we're to blame, and also the Kabbalists, they say the same. Look what Baal HaSulam writes at the end of the book, at the end of the Introduction to the Book of Zohar. What it says in the Book of Zohar itself that was written 2,000 years ago.

Question (Petah Tikva Cente): (01:09:37) Can I ask a question? If those times they didn't hear, why should they hear today?

M. Laitman: I have two answers to this. The one is that, like you see me, I continue because I have no choice. Everyone has to learn. The entire process, study it, the laws of nature, and see what to do correspondingly. Elokim, God, in Gematria equals nature. You can't change them, you can't bring new laws. You have to study the laws of nature and follow them. That's one thing.

Another thing is that I have to keep it. So, whatever I can do in my lifetime, I do. And you, and him, and her, and everyone. So let's first of all reach an understanding of what we have to do. It is upon us to do a simple thing. In the center of creation, today, is a group called Bnei Baruch. This group has to come together. It has to reach a state of being as one man and one heart. If it'll do it, then through this group, through this group, the upper light will work, will influence and work on all of mankind, and therefore we, and we first and foremost, have to understand that we're in the center, we're being targeted. We have to take care of the connection, and through us, the upper light will influence and work on everyone else, and to the extent to which you do it, then you can turn to everyone else, to the Jews that are also related to this in terms of where they came from, from ancient Babylon, where Abraham brought them together, and all of mankind that came from the shattering of the Tree of Knowledge, and all the more, this is how you can influence them. But how do you influence them? By your connection. That you're already in such a connection, that you are related to the , that the  can come through you. This is something that Baal HaSulam gives us, shows us in the article of the Arvut, that we're managing the flow of the upper light to everyone, and to all of mankind in general.

Question (United VG): (01:13:20) What is a correction? And you were talking about the need for correction. What helps us to reach this need for correction?

M. Laitman: We have to understand that our connection makes room, gives path to the light through us, to influence the rest of mankind as being Galgalta ve Eynaim, and the rest of mankind as the AHP, and we have to elevate the deficiency for connection to the Creator in order to be a transition between the upper light and the rest of mankind, and that's how we have to function. This is our work, and it's something that we can't run from. This is the only thing that we should see, and according to the state that the world's evolving towards, a state of shattering, helplessness, that we really have to speed things up and really bring the upper light to the entire world.

This is the only thing that we can do, but this is something that can only come through our connection. For us to be as the Rosh, the head of the Partzuf, and this way through our connection, will give the upper light the ability to influence everyone. It says about it in many places.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:15:14) It is written that the heart of the kings and ministers is in the heart of the Creator, in the hands of the Creator, and everyone is like a beast.

M. Laitman: True, and so, these are officers and ministers, let's call it the administrative managers of mankind that make no decisions. Where is the decision made? Where the people of Israel on the one hand, groups in short, what are the people of Israel? These are groups that want to come together, connect between them, by doing so to allow the upper light, the Creator, for Him to gradually start revealing through them to the rest of mankind. This is what determines, and everything else, the ministers, and the kings, and today it's presidents of different sorts, heads of countries and so on, will accordingly perform these actions. They themselves will feel what has to be done, and this is what they will do.

Student: It's just that I'm trying to understand, with respect to whom do we…?

M. Laitman: Us and the Creator. No, we take nothing else into consideration.

Student: So, it's with us and the Creator, so...

M. Laitman: We need to see the Hissaron coming from all of mankind, where today I see how much mankind's coming to me today, furious, raging, screaming, shouting that I'm to blame for all the evil that there is, that really I have to be put to death because I'm functioning incorrectly. I accept this seriously. This is the demand, this their MAN, their Hissaron, their prayer, that this is how they can deliver it to me. And then I accept it, and I have to pass it on to the . How do I pass it on to the ? If mankind can shout together, cry together, or everyone in particular, or nations, doesn't matter how, but I can't cry out to the Creator. It's possible to cry out to the Creator only if each of us is a Malchut, that we connect with one another, reaching the degree of Keter, and then in the Keter we're connected with the Creator. This is already a system in which many become one, otherwise they do not connect to this one force, which is one, unique, and unified. We have to understand that many have to receive, that the many have to become one, and then the one is in correlation with the one.

Student: You said that we have to turn to ourselves and the Creator, if we can be precise here, are we talking about Bnei Baruch?

M. Laitman: Regarding ourselves, each of us has to try, inside his Ten to reach a state where they will be as one man in one heart inside the Ten. And then from that, we will have to connect to the Creator. It already happened. Once we will try to be as one in the Ten, we will try, we will be able to connect to the Creator. Meaning, today we're in a state, a practical state that's very high in responsibility, where we still don't understand how did this roll into our hands, we that are so small, little, but it's also explained in several places that at the end of generations, in the state of the last generation, those that will be engaged in it aren't big Kabbalists that see from the end of the world to its end, but that they're pretty small, and they're actually the ones that will bring, that will perform the correction.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:20:03) Yesterday, we had the ceremonies in different places. I was looking at the people from the side, and I felt pain that on the one hand, we know the reason. On the other hand, I look at them, and I see they have no clue, and they don't even come closer to the understanding that it depends on us. It's their fault, but they don't feel, and they're stuck in this loop. The question is direct and clear. I should have pain about what? That they should open their eyes?

M. Laitman: I think that the problem is your Ten and you, and not them. Don't pass the responsibility on to them. Don't pass the responsibility on to them. We have to first and foremost reach connection in our Tens, and then you'll feel how much they aren't like babies that have no idea what are you talking about, but immediately they'll start feeling what you feel, and to be connected to you. The problem is in our Tens. The problem is us. The problem is our connection, and the connection between our Tens and the Creator. I'm not talking about the people of Israel that were so immersed in dissemination, wanting to explain to them more and more. There is nothing for us to explain, because spiritually-wise, we're not advancing them. So we really have to perform self-scrutiny.

Student: In all the different organisms, if someone changes with respect to someone else, the growth can begin. It's the same with relationships. Should we apologize to the Creator, and what for? For the fact that the unity between us doesn't affect the whole world yet? And how should it be, or should it be at all?

M. Laitman: We need to feel responsible for the correction of the world. All the people, wherever they are, regardless of whether they're Jews by birth or not, but anyone who receives an inclination toward connection with the Creator is called a Jew, and therefore it is upon him to perform the connection. All in all, in all of our groups, we have to try and reach connection between us and the Creator. You have a Ten, do it in the Ten. Apply effort to do it in the Ten, to connect with the Creator. Don't look at others, but look at your Ten as being the central part of the world.

Question (Moldova): (01:23:57) Is there an alternative so that the torments will correct us instead of the connection, or will the ego choose between the two realities of the egoistic world?

M. Laitman: The path of suffering is a very long one, and don't think that 6,000 years are 6,000  years of our world, for that there are many more thousands of years if you'll choose the path of suffering. But there is an opportunity to really do it in the shortest possible way. As Baal HaSulam says that we're already in the generation of the Messiah, but it's on condition that we do it, and if we don't, we will suffer. Mankind will suffer more and more, and now it's going to be on the scale of the entire world, as Baal HaSulam says, that really it's going to be a war, and such torments after which it's unclear who's going to remain all together. And the world will start once again from the most primitive forms of existence. The state in which the world's in today, then those that will remain after all of this, they're the miserable ones, and not those that vanished. This is what I can say.

Suffering doesn't teach people, because suffering is something that's integrated in the system itself, and through the general suffering that the system's going through, it's corrected a bit, but it's not that people are corrected by suffering. You can see it from the First, the Second World War, now we're towards the Third World War, and you can see that nothing is headed towards correction. Look at how those that are managing humanity, how they behave, the leaders of countries, people themselves, how much from day to day they're becoming more and more deaf actually to what they have. So, let's eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.

This is how people live. Animals, the animate degree is higher than our own, because they don't have the ability to change themselves. They don't understand the future of the world, that they can change it. They don't bow their heads downwards beneath their own belly in relation to all that their beast wants. But we, people, human beings, we put our mind at the service of our belly, at the service of our beast. The human degree serves the animate level. This is the way we are, meaning we're worse than animals, of course. And mankind can advance this way.

M. Laitman: (01:27:55) So you can ask, okay, what kind of suffering, what kind of torments should, do we have to go through for it to correct us? So, I'll tell you that there are no such suffering or torments that can correct man, that can correct the ego. But it's thousands and thousands of years during which the system will absorb the suffering on the degrees of the still, vegetative, and the animate in order to give some correct result on the speaking level. The difference between the degrees is vast. If the animate level, look how much mankind suffered during the Second World War, and afterwards how much it had to put in, invest in order to rehabilitate itself, and what as a result? Nothing. Sixty years later, thirty years later, they started the arms race again and everything, and the entire process of what the countries are going through where they're arguing. That's how it is.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:29:25) I hear what you're saying, and I'm trying to put it into our work, and with all the difficulty in it, I'm trying to understand, is there a Nazi inside of me? Is there an anti-Semite inside of me? These things that I see as inconceivable, is that inside of me? And if so, how am I supposed to approach that in the work? What am I supposed to do with that?

M. Laitman: I completely disagree with this attitude, because then a person sits and eats himself. We're talking about how people must put in all their efforts into connection. And now that I will look into myself and find something not good, and I'll eat it, and I'll struggle with myself with this inner struggle, I detest this kind of psychology. We need to speak of connection, for connection, talk about the good things, and the fact that all these bad things are in me, of course I understand it. I'm not going to take care of this inner, internal psychology. It's completely not our way. Our way is only one, to connection only.

Student: That's understood, but there is the revelation of evil.

M. Laitman: There's no revelation of evil. There's no commandment to discover the evil. Where do you get that Torah from? There's a Mitzva, a commandment to do the good, and the evil is revealed, so we would know we didn't do enough good.

Student: I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about the recognition of evil.

M. Laitman: If it will come as a result of my good actions, I accept it, but not that I, by myself, am awakening the bad.

Student: Okay, I accept that, I don't awaken it on my own, but this issue of recognition of evil, what do I do with that?

M. Laitman: I immediately increase my states towards the good. I don't want to feel the bad. I don't want to be in it. I don't want to be connected to it. I don't enjoy discovering the bad. There's no such commandment.

Student: That's clear. So, just about that, if I want to even write about that issue of anti-Semitism, or Nazi, or Nazism, if I want to be in some connection with that, should I be in some connection with that or only work on connection?

M. Laitman: You should work only on the connection, especially you.

Question (Kyiv): (01:32:44) Yes, we see how the stock markets in this context, in this, so to speak, are rising in Russia and in the world. The question is whether we can change this situation as a critical mass, maybe to do more congresses, or to close ourselves for a week and pray for the friends. What, how do you see that?

M. Laitman: In the Ten, you can change everything. Just understand, it's a difference between the degrees. You in the Ten can do more than all your lovers and enemies do combined. I'm sorry, enemies and haters, they speak of separation, hate, control, and you're speaking of unity, and love, and connection through the embrace between people. You're stronger than them if you will do what you have to do. This is where your strength lies. And the evil forces will always seem as a huge monster with many people, lots of weapons, and power. But again, they are not the successful ones. They don't remain in history as much as we think this is the case. So, don't be afraid.

Question (Latin): (01:34:49) The religious groups that call themselves Israel here, even though they support Israel financially, it's very clear that they blame the Jews, and the people, and there's this natural hatred. So, what's the best way to speak to them without mentioning Israel, and even less Kabbalah? That's the first question.

M. Laitman: We need to speak not about Israel or the wisdom of Kabbalah, but about connection, where connection is good for everyone, humanity has to be as one body, and as much as we try to explain that nature is one, integral, global, we have to be like that, adapt ourselves to nature accordingly, we will be able to live well, because the law of equivalence of adaptation to the environment, inner and outer environment, is a constant law that exists on all levels. Just like we are trying to make the environment cooler or warmer, we constantly build for ourselves an environment that's more suitable for us. So similarly we have to be with nature. We exist in nature, and as much as we can make ourselves suitable for nature or nature to us, we'll be better. Right now, we are in opposition. Nature appears with each passing day as more integral, interdependent, interconnected, global, one system, and we, humanity, is revealed as a completely opposite form. I'm not talking about still, vegetative, and animate degrees where they work instinctively. And if they are not corrected, it's because of us. But humanity is completely opposite to nature.

So consequently, we are facing extinction, because we are opposite to nature. Nature is working simply. If we are such egoists, such opposites, then in that ego, we will destroy one another and start over. In spirituality, there's no time. We work without time. So, everything can be flipped. We'll start history again, just like 200,000 years ago, and all the way to today, what's the problem? So, we have to look seriously. It's what's happening today that hide our heads under our wings as if we can't see reality, but see it clearly, because we are responsible for it. We are responsible, and it all depends on us. Now, the way you will talk to the world, it's your business. Talk to them this way or that way.

Question (Latin): (01:38:50) The next question is, in Latin America, anti-Semitism is something foreign. We don't have that kind of problem, but people do ask about it. Meaning, there's no sentiment about it. So, what's the role of Latin America in communicating to the public the topic of anti-Semitism?

M. Laitman: I don't think we need to raise this topic if it's not a burning topic. I think we should simply work on connection, the good connection between people. That's it.There's nothing more. And if you explain that connection is necessary in order to adapt ourselves to the global nature, it's enough, because it has nothing to do with words, relying on Israel and anti-Semitism. We are talking about the force of nature, which is one, and we are not one, we are opposite to that. Still, vegetative, and animate are connected to nature because they're operated instinctively by nature, and we, humans, we lack those instincts. We need to establish by ourselves the system of behavior with nature, and this is where the problem lies. We need to learn how to be adapted, suitable to nature. So, you're not talking about everything else, but talking about connection, social connection. I think for South America, it's very suitable. People are not specifically bad, they're good-hearted. I think it can go very easily there, relatively speaking, compared to other places.

Question (Medellin): (01:41:24) We know that the Creator gives us what we need in order to connect and ask for connection. Now, is this the inner work that He expects us to do as the people of Israel?

M. Laitman: Of course, what is the people of Israel? The group that's connected to Yashar Kel. You want to discover it, you want to come closer to Him, you want to come to a state where you have revelation of the Creator, you are together with Him in common feelings, or not. This is what it's all about. What do you think? You see the Creator with your eyes? You see Him inside of you. He clothes in all your senses, and you begin to feel that force that previously did not exist there. You begin to feel it compared to now, compared to how it was not there before. It belongs to you and to every person. Everyone should know me from the littlest to the biggest. That's what we have to reach. This is what the Creator is demanding from all the people in the world. You see that in all the continents, of all the people, there are students who feel a deficiency that the Creator gave them to come to know Him. He wants them to come closer to Him. They belong to all races, and genders, and nationalities. Who is the people of Israel? The one who came out of Babylon, out of all the nations that lived there. It became so special throughout history as a group that lived together for a few thousand years, but in a sense, what's the difference? I don't see any change in that. The main thing, in short, is the connection relative to nature, or connection between us and the Elokim. The difference is only in the words. Okay, what are we doing next?

Reader: Excerpt number four, this is from the Zohar, portion Pinhas.

Reading:
(01:44:17 ) 4. Zohar, Pinhas, Item 152 - Twice
Israel among the nations is like a heart among the organs. And as the organs of the body cannot exist in the world for even a minute without the heart, all the other nations cannot exist in the world without Israel.

Reader: Again, the Creator made Israel as the heart of the world.

M. Laitman: (01:45:00) Meaning, there is a certain hierarchy in humanity with respect to what's happened previously, and what will happen next. Previously, there were no nations Rather after the shattering, everything existed according to the four phases of direct light, and it was arranged in this way. And then the group that had the biggest or greatest ego started to stand out. And that's why it received a sensation of distancing, being distant from the Creator.

So, humanity in its entirety, with respect to this knowledge, closer to correction or further away from correction, started to arrange itself on the ladder of degrees. And just as Abraham invited everyone, all the Babylonians to connection, then this group came to him. So, different people with different deficiencies came to him. And then later we got these groups of Cohen, Cohanim, Levi, Israel, various groups. This is all according to the deficiencies that appeared in them with respect to adhesion with the Creator, equivalence of form. So, this is how things were. This is called Israel, someone who reached a desire that's burning in him to connect to the upper force. So, we know it's not a nationality, and everyone can become a Jew if they want to reach unity with the Creator. And that's how we are to this day. That's how we exist. The Jew, Jews are not a nation; rather, it's a group of people that thinks that connection between them is what would make them, would adapt them to the upper force, and they want to exist in that.

That's what's written there: the Creator made Israel a special group in the world. What you just read right now. All the rest of the groups, all the rest of the nations materialized according to biological discernments that came from a man and a woman that started a family, just like when you look at this genealogy, the genealogy of a family, these relationships between the people and across the generations, like the kings in England and in Germany, then this is exactly the shape of the form of those nations. But with us, it's not the case. With us, it's according to the heart. It's either burning for connection or it's not.

Song: (01:54:19)
