Reading ‘The Essence of Religion and Its Purpose’

1. R. (02:26) In other words the fact that they have no questions means that they do not know the questions that they never asked themselves they have never thought about it, possibly.

 Reading Continues

2. R. (03:55) Meaning there are such questions here that we are not even thinking of during our life, they are so great even though they are clear right. Why we are alive, what is the purpose of it? How is the world arranged for the well-being of the created beings or maybe for the well-being of who, who else could be, what can we do with our lives and more and more? We are facing these questions just like babies that do not know what is wanted of them.

3. S. (04:53) He says how can a young man 12 or 13 years old can understand all these questions why does he compare it to that child?

R. I did not understand what you said.

S. I am reading what he says how could it be that a child 12 or 13 years of age could already thoroughly grasp these three subtle Notions, why does he speak about this child and why does he mention it?

R.  OK, it's not a young one it's the age of bar mitzvah that a person begins to already process his life who am I what am I what am I my life for then the question does he know how he needs to grow and what he needs to acquire and what degree he needs to reach how does he start his life and how does the end his life. Is it for the well-being of the world or is it not all of these things, they are in front of us only we do not know how to approach them, therefore, we are going with the currents of life just like yesterday.

S. So, he says this is where the problem lies because this so we have no idea what he is speaking about, that is what he wants to say?

R. No, we do not know why we are alive. We look at history, we look back and we see that people lived for thousands and thousands of years and without asking themselves why they are alive, and this happens mainly because they do not have an answer. So, in order to not make their lives miserable and in order to not enter despair and helplessness, they don't even ask why we are alive and we live in order to live to have a better life from today to the next day.

S. So, he mentions that in this generation the second we have already completely slipped from under our hands, so what is he trying to say that there is no chance why is he saying this?

R. We have grown tired of searching if so when we search for answers to these questions with the purpose of life and meaning of life, and we are no longer engaging in it.

S. What we were despaired?

R. Yes of course a long time.

S. So how to come out of this despair?

R. Come out I don't know but I don't see anybody wants to come out I don't see anybody jumping out of bed and running to search for the meaning of life.

S. People think it's money and political parties that's what they think that's the human nature?

R. If they think to find there the meaning of life than fine let them, but they should look back and see that people have been engaging in this for thousands of years and what have they found.

S. So, we grow up and see that we did not obtain anything.

R. So, what is the point of continuing?

S. That's what I'm asking you how can a person suddenly start understanding the essence of life, how can even he reach it from the trouble he gets in life?

R. A person needs to find to justify his life, what makes it worthwhile living the fact that I'm alive I'm alive that is a fact, ok that's it. The fact that I will die that's also a fact, I look at others I see that is going to happen with me as well and now the question is, what am I alive for, in order to live my life as of yesterday so I can do that but it's better off maybe if I take drugs and I remain in the trip in this imagination all kinds of without feeling anything it's just with a pleasant feeling and even that feeling what for.

S. You think people are starting to discover this and saying what am I live for?

R. No because if they ask why I am alive they need to die.

S. So how is it going to happen?

R.  This question will kill them why am I alive because as he writes a different place it takes a person down from the below all of the animal level because animals don't ask from the nature they don't ask this question what am I live for, and we when we think about what we are living for then we see that we are the lowest loathsome worse zeros.

S. As the last generation we have to reach that conclusion, no?

R. There's nothing to come to because we don't even know the answer for why we live, you know what your life for?

S. Me, to make money to spend time with my grandkids.

R. That's not the purpose, this all ends and also the money ends and also the grandchildren ends sorry that I am saying this but everything ends eventually so what are we live for.

S. So what for?

R. Our question about life is supposedly beyond life.

S. Which means?

R. Because if it is only in order to live I will take a drug or even I will die it will be the same thing if in my life there is no answer for what I am living for a continuation to this life, so I have no reason to live, so life is not worth anything either.

S. So how can we reach the conclusion of the question why are we alive for?

R. What we are live for the question remains but the answer hasn't been found yet, and this is what he's putting before us now.

4. S. (12:41) If hypothetically we reach Lishma with the question of what is the purpose of life disappear with the question becomes irrelevant?

R. If the question will disappear, we will be as beasts as animals, that question about the essence of life is the only thing that belongs to the degree of man of Adam the rest is on the animate degree too.

5. S. (13:18) It turns out that in the time of enlightenment there were all kinds of philosophers.

R. Also with them it was not above material in that renaissance period they were not above the material.

6. S. (13:55) This topic of the lesson of the questions that are being awakened my question is following you take a small kid there are kids who asks questions and they are told go to school go study go build yourself go do something, can we reach these questions without experiencing all these flows of life?

R. We can we learn and we try to find answers and we bump into the fact that there are no answers to those questions.

7. S. (14:36) Baal HaSulam also explains that we are already tripping, that we need to exit this trip in actions that we do together in the group?

R. Are you asking or are you talking?

8. S. (15:20) Before the religious morals humanity was a state which is less evolved and morals and religion led to development, there is a goal there?

R. Of course yes religion also helped humanity develop a lot, it started connecting Humanity to life beyond death the essence of life of course, from religion you also got all kinds of tendencies philosophies, it's a very important element in humanity without that they would remain all as beasts, religion is what brought Humanity from the inanimate into the speaking, and it doesn't matter what religion, people developed.

9. S. (16:34) You're supposed to lead a person to ask what the meaning of life is what should we do in life, why are you alive Rav?

R. I am alive to make a man out of you.

S. How did these questions contribute to me being a human being?

R. That you have to implement what I am expecting of you.

S. What do you expect from me other than being a human which is high?

R. No, nothing except for that.

S. Being human is too high for me, how do I start maybe?

R. You start for getting married.

10. S. (17:25) There's something religious why didn't he write the essence of life and its purpose, why the essence of religion?

R. I do not know I think he did not want to touch philosophy because then there is no beginning or end there and the people argue about it endlessly here he puts them in the framework of religion that is it. The essence of religion what is it the essence of life actually wants to say, is its person for this world or the next world. That is already something that belongs to religion or you can say philosophy but you have infinite philosophies but religion is always aimed to what happens to the person after death if there was not death there was not religion what do you need it for. And then is the purpose for the benefit of the Creator or the created beings of course the created beings, and that is in our religions and faith and so on, so that is the only way he can grasp all this.

11. S. (19:07) These questions that he places here that he raises are asked by people who are not religious because people who are religious usually do not ask such questions?

R. That's true but these questions are still they belong to religion, you as a historian need to understand it deeper than us.

Reading ‘Meaning of Life’

12. R. (21:52) Yeah because actually there is no answer what we live for why are we living, where we should direct our life towards to what purpose, on what scales we can weigh our lives for the good for the bad, how we advance, we flow and the upper providence conceals all this reality from us this endless divine reality that we are in. And we just keep going day-to-day, with all our complaints and thoughts, these tiny thoughts and this is how we keep going. And we are not even allowed to open each other's eyes because by this like we said do not put the obstacle before the blind that's how we are right now, so we just have to learn and invite the light that reforms with the same means that are before us and then the light will open our eyes. And that is how we will see the truth, where we are and what worlds and what system and how we can bestow to it, influence it, and where is it worthwhile to advance towards.

13. S. (24:18) People do not know why they're alive for, they also don't have these questions what will awaken this question?

R. We have to awaken the question and it can't come from the person himself where most people except for those who the question is awaken in them what is the life for and then they truly in a not simple state I know on myself. But people that the question does not awaken in them what am I alive for so they just keep going keep existing, look at the others and in such a way they exist like that we see in children how they look at others and also want the same toy, the same game and so on.

That's what happens with us, same thing with adults, they look at the others what will I do in my life what profession will I take, what am I going to do how will I get married how will I build a family all these questions come from everyone looking around and learning it. But when we really grow, then we start asking who is it worth resembling that only brings us to one source to the Creator. He is the one I have to resemble he is the one I want to connect to, and only by being connected to him I will feel myself that I am really in that true point and not that I have any other reason to live. A person have to reach a state that he feels that he is in the center of life that now he is sure he knows that he's standing on the point of truth and he knows what he have to live for.

14. S. (27:33) When should we start teaching a person about the meaning of life if that desire doesn't awaken in him?

R. We need to try and bring our children to an environment that can awaken the right deficiencies in them, that way they will advance that's how they will advance but not in pressure you don't force them but gradually let them advance to truer question what am I alive for, why is it worth living.

15. S. (28:23) How can we not put an obstacle before a blind person?

R. We need to bring man to such an environment that we will give him an example without any pressure, give him an example how to organize life that they will be purposeful, that a person lives in the animate degree with family women children in on one hand. On the other hand, He knows what he is living for as man Adam that develops and develops children and specifically here people develop not according to their minds but according to the root of their soul. There it's written it's not the wise who studies.

16. S. (29:44) Why do the Jews resist the revelation of the wisdom of Kabbalah?

R. Because we don't see that it's so easy to use it to reach the purpose the goal and it is supposedly disconnects a person from his life.

17. S. (30:11) Why does the nation that experience most pain throughout history of humanity why didn’t this nation stop and a question about the purpose of life?

R. It's because it has the biggest will to receive.

18. S. (30:28) We are reading the essence of religion and its purpose, can you elaborate what is the definition of the Jewish religion?

R. Religion is when we reach love your friend as yourself by this we completely equalized with the Creator that he is in the love of the created beings and a complete way and so are we in order to come closer to the Creator we have to reach the love of the created beings in the full complete way.

19. S. (31:12) This question about what is the meaning the purpose of life it is a question that can lead a person to find an answer but I can also lead him to having to need to realize adhesion to the Creator?

R. It is the same thing.

S. There are those that settle and understand there is now the Creator we need to work for him and they do it religiously?

R.  But that way a person doesn't bring himself to the answer, it is like having a lot of religions that tell a person to do all kinds of actions and they tell them if you do this so you are implementing the purpose of your life, so what is the difference between all religions.

S. I'm asking what's the difference in the deficiency that weakens in a person between those that satisfied by what religion has to offer and those that come to the wisdom of Kabbalah and even more so even for those who come there is a difference because they don't always not everyone has the ability to break through to achieve what's required to reach Lishma

R. So not in this incarnation he'll reach it on the next one but he’s already started the path and he is going to keep going but if he does all kinds of physical actions that he was taught by this he doesn't improve his desires his soul he doesn't advance in order to bestow he doesn't advance to the love of the creative beings on the contrary he becomes proud compared to the other people.

S. All of humanity needs to reach Lishma to the actual adhesion?

R. Yes, but in different ways, we need to advance in the way that the wisdom of Kabbalah dictates and humanity as a as a result will feel that they have to be in a good bestowal towards one another but it will come to them through a war.

S.  At some point will it be for the Creator and not for the created beings like it is in religion is it supposed to flip that the purpose of life will be for the Creator

R. Not for sure, they will do it I think they will do it for the created beings and for that they will understand that it has to be in general for the created beings and it will be equivalent let's say as for the Creator.

20. S. (34:22) Still people will need to come to a path through religions or through rejecting religions?

R.  People are going to have to reach a state that they must reach love, each one towards everyone else towards connection each one with everyone else and that will actually be religion. Look at the essence of religion the article and what's written there, that the general religion to all nations is love, love your friend as yourself, a great rule in the Torah and you have nothing but that, the rest is our corporeal gain around that, in order to give it some borders and framework and no more than that.

S.  People come to religion not to arrive to love?

R.  We're not speaking about such religions were speaking about humanity that they need to reach a state that they will understand that they have to reach connection with no limits between each one to everyone to everyone.

Reading The Absolute Good

21. S. (41:22) Should we expect the forces of reception that it will grow also after Lishma

R. Yes, we will discover and we will see it.

22. S. (41:41) So what actually do we want to know the intention of the Creator?

R. We have to reach adhesion with the Creator in our mind in our feeling and everything we have, in mind and heart we will be adhered to him in a way that you cannot tell us and him apart.

23. S. (42:16) The 10 is a spiritual mechanism how can we convince people that this device it works, what should we say to them that they know that we have the method of truth?

R. According to the extent of the connection between us in our groups we project such forces, we don't feel it yet but we will project such forces around us that all people will start coming closer to us and to want to be among us.

24. S. (43:03) In the nation of Israel is there a question about the meaning of life or for the time being they just want to have goodness?

R. There's a lot of people that are asking about it and we need to try through dissemination to bring them answers.

25. S. (43:24) What does the young generation need these days?

R. The young generation needs to know that without an answer about the essence of life it's life is a life of beasts.

26. S. (43:43) What is the environment that leads every person to ask the question what is the meaning of life?

R. A purposeful society that's why we need more and more and more to raise the importance of our environment which brings man from the degree of animate to the degree of man, Adam that  resembles the Creator.

27. S. (44:10) What answer would you recommend to give to women who are asking what is a special answer women can give regarding the purpose of life?

R. If you will ask him what you're alive for they will think that were religious, and it'll distance them from us. we need to think in what way we draw them towards our purpose of life that's not for now already, we have half minute left but we should talk about it we will.
