New research has uncovered evidence of a giant space rock, in the form of a small asteroid, that annihilated an entire city near the Dead Sea area 3,650 years ago, inspiring the possibility that this was the ancient city of Sodom, as depicted in the Torah. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the Torah explains the laws of nature. All the spiritual laws need to be clothed in the final degree of the egoistic desire gradually, so that this world will resemble heaven. The story of Sodom is depicted as a symbol of human wickedness and divine retribution and is commonly referred to as the City of Sins – meaning that it was forbidden for anyone to offer help to another. Love another as yourself is the great rule of the Torah and therefore, the inhabitants were called sinners. The purpose of Creation needs to reach the level of love and humanity has to reach a correction of love. Today we have so much hate, but precisely from the recognition of evil can we decide that we need to come to a state of good – that of complete love between us.
