1. Rav’s Introduction (00:22): Our entire spiritual work actually needs to lead us to a prayer because everything comes from above, there is None Else Besides Him, everything that happens to us happens in direct intention and influence of the Creator and we have to respond. The response is called a prayer. What we want, what we think, what we yearn for, all of that is prayer. It could not be felt at all if a person does not turn to the Creator but if he does he doesn't know exactly how and what he turns to the Creator with but ultimately they are only two actions from the Creator to the Creator beings and from the created beings to the Creator. There's nothing more in reality. All the rest is all of these responses from above downwards and from below upwards integrate and that builds the whole of reality. So let's read all these excerpts and see how to arrange ourselves towards the day of prayer and we will try to, at least for a day, to examine and monitor and establish our attitude to the Creator's influence upon us and how we respond to him meaning, I for my beloved and my beloved for me. Here in these excerpts we may find some guidance, some direction for in what way we need to relate to our life which we certainly receive 100% from the Creator. There is none else besides him and how we have to respond in return that will be good in man's eyes and especially in the Creator's eyes.
Reading excerpt #16 (03:05) “The fact that the Creator told him to pray means..”
2. R. (04:14) Meaning even the prayer that a person raises as a response for what he feels that is coming from the Creator, the response on man's part towards the Creator, the Creator also designs it and that is how it happens that this circle always closes in the way that man, the person is in the center of the circle and influences go through him, from him to the Creator and from above downwards and from below upwards from him upwards to the Creator but ultimately it is the Creator who through that processes the qualities of man, his thoughts and desires and thus becomes closer and closer to his correct exalted role.
Reading excerpt #16 (05:20) again: “The fact that the Creator told him to pray means..”
3. S. (06:37) What is it that makes the Creator make me pray?
R. What causes the Creator to cause you to pray? Because the records that were left in you from the sin of the first man now according to their que in their correction from light to heavy, they reach a state where they need to be corrected, these Reshimot, records, and so now comes your que and then you feel an awakening.
4. S. (07:40) I recognize that everything comes from the Creator, he gives me the opportunity to pray. The question is in what can I go towards Him? How can I strengthen this prayer and be in such a state where he will hear not only me but my entire ten.
R. This is the main thing that he will hear the ten as one man in one heart. If you will respond to what you need to respond to the Creator for now, together, that will be your correct prayer and it will certainly influence the next step that the Creator will already respond to you. So most important is that each and every moment we prepare ourselves for a common response between us, that we have no need besides being together in our address, plea, to the Creator, that is the main thing. So what do we want? We want to respond to the Creator for what He wants to receive from us and most importantly is together. It doesn't matter how deep we understand what He wants from us but most important is that we respond together.
S. Is what was done before disappearing or only adds?
R. Nothing disappears, nothing disappears and each time we just add, we keep adding to the same deficiency, prayer, plea for connection between us. We keep adding and turning to the Creator, that is how it works.
5. S. (10:20) We try to be in there is none else besides Him all the time because that should be our mutual guarantee and everything comes from Him and we should not react with anything else besides that He is governing us but sometimes we enter into verbal, like in the tornado and it could be scary and can be pleasure and it could be everything else but in the end you see that we pray for ourselves, so how do we get out of this?
R. Rabash writes about this in his article about the society, to the extent that we can each annul ourselves towards the friends, incorporate with the society and from that incorporation, after we incorporate, then we turn to the Creator. This is called from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator, then in such a way we reach a state where we truly come to Him, turn to Him as one man with one heart as the ten becomes one thing. Then one towards one that is how He can give us the fulfillment, the correction that we are worthy of.
S. How do we come to that?
R. It comes by trying to turn to the Creator as a group, as a single force towards a single goal towards a single Creator, when you gather in such a way and turn to Him in such a way.
6. S. (12:53) When you read this excerpt it is very easy to dedicate yourself to this feeling that you understand that everything is done by the Creator and you lost any ability to choose how to never the less to maintain the feeling that there is a ten and that everything is in the ten and that is the place of work and exertion and not to dedicate yourself to the feeling of going after the Creator without doing anything.
R. That is the work, it's the daily work that we have to do, nothing more to add.
7. S. (13:50) Is the prayer spiritual attainment?
R. Prayer is not spiritual attainment. Prayer is raising the deficiency, raising man and for that MAN, we get a change for that state and that is called MAD and that includes within it spiritual attainment.
8. S. (14:27) The Creator gives disturbances, difficulties even for an individual person. Is this the desire by the Creator to approach the entire ten or just for that one person?
R. Say it again.
S. The Creator gives disturbances, difficulties even for an individual person. Is this the desire by the Creator to approach the entire ten or just for that one person?
R. This is not exactly the question because the Creator has a desire to get closer to each and everyone together and it is a single desire, it does not divide into pieces. In his address He is not scrutinizing exactly who He relates to cause He relates to everyone, He sees everyone, all of us as one man
S. So if I receive some difficulty I need to see this as an opportunity to assemble all the friends and raise the prayer?
R. Right, yes. The Creator does not relate to a single individual personally but rather He means for us to connect to that form of one man.
9. S. (16:15) In the excerpt from what it is written everything is done by the Creator, everything, completely everything, even the thought about it. In that case where is our work, in what?
R. Our work is in the connection between us to make ourselves as one man in one heart and in such a way to relate to the Creator. So relating to the Creator happens only after we relate correctly to each other.
S. If we act according to this thought that Rabash is offering us in the article that even that is done by the Creator you can run into infinity with this circle that the Creator is doing.
R. What the Creator does, does not matter to me. What matters to me is what I need to do with myself to go into the right interaction with Him, the right mutual connection, that is what is important to me. How I take on the same form that will be exactly similar to and facing the Creator.
S. If in such a case I have a thought, a nagging thought that whatever I do doesn't matter, as you say everything is done by the Creator. Does this thought get in the way?
R. No, I need to feel that I must do something here, I have the exact area for connection, for unity and turning to the Creator; Meaning, both in action and intention I can do things here.
10. S. (18:23) What is the power the Creator gives us and why can we not pray without that power?
R. The person needs to raise his deficiency from his deficiency, meaning that he discovered and arranged and positions in front of the Creator and erases the deficiency in such a way so the deficiency can be received, accepted in the Creator and the Creator will understand from the man's deficiency exactly what he wants and what he longs to achieve.
S. Even though the Creator does everything in order for us to reach adhesion with him, why can't we feel it?
R. Lack of equivalence of form, if I think of how to receive and the Creator is thinking of how to give to me so that I will be ready to receive his influence according to equivalence of form, so we actually never connect in any point, we are not in contact. It all depends on how I change my intention, if I want to receive from the Creator only on the condition that I cause him contentment and pleasure and I will fulfill his desire and then he will be able to fulfill my desire. About this it says, make your desire as his desire so that his desire will be as your desire otherwise there will be no connection.
11. S. (20:54) I wanted to understand what does it mean to together respond to the Creator, what is the common response by the ten?
R. That all of us become as one man in one the heart and our heart is the deficiency and we want to raise this deficiency to the Creator so that he feels that we have a single heart, a single deficiency, a single central question which we raise through him and ask and demand he answer it and the question is about adhesion. We want from the connection that we achieve between us we want to achieve adhesion between us and the Creator.
S. I understand the words but isn't that individual work by each and every one?
R. Yes, yes, all of the rest is our inner work until you feel what is inside these words.
S. So the Creator turns it into something common?
R. Of course, everything comes from the Creator but according to how much you can come closer to him with your heart and your heart is in your friends, until you awaken them, connect to them and then one heart reaches the Creator.
12. S. (22:40) So the prayer, is this common work between the ten and the Creator, the mutual between them for Him to change what is being revealed?
R. Yes, you have to convince the Creator that we are ready, worthy of being closer to him and to the extent that we can convince him that means that we are worthy of being closer to him.
13. S. (23:36) You just explained that the heart is a deficiency so accordingly what does it mean as one man in one heart?
R. One deficiency.
S. Why is it considered a corrected state?
R. It's not corrected, it is intended for the correction, it is one heart is what we raise to the Creator.
S. So what is this one heart that we will be ready for correction?
R. One desire from all of us together, this is called as being one man in one heart, that we only want one thing, through mutual bestowal between us to scrutinize what does it mean to bestow from us to the Creator and that is what we want to raise to him.
14. S. (24:49) The system that exists in total minimal unity, every element influences the other?
R. Yes, if people become connected between them, then they work us ten Sefirot in the single Partzuf where each one bestows to the other as much as he can from his personal qualities but altogether they establish a single desire of giving towards the Creator.
15. S. (25:37) Why the Creator does not give up on man's personal effort in the ten?
R. Because there will be no ten, if he gives up, there are laws here that all the ten parts that include the comprise the Partzuf, they have to be mutually connected in the way that is beautiful and well-integrated with each other and then they can raise their deficiency and their intention towards the Creator and be somewhat similar to him.
16. S. (26:28) When you explain this effort before and the prayer that we're working together on, the main thing is that it is mutual and it doesn't matter if we understand it?
R. The understanding will come from above, we just need to be drawn towards connection as much as possible from below.
S. During the lesson, each time I add a discernment to the prayer, how do I arrange it correctly, each time I try to catch it with my intellect and I lose that feeling for the prayer, the question is how to work with it correctly?
R. This is where our efforts, our mutual efforts that one should help his friend, by that we can complement each other not by words, but by our efforts. More effort to be together and to connect. What does it mean to pressure the Creator, convince the Creator, and nag Him and so on.
16. S. (27:54) You said that the upper force does not relate to each one individually but only as a spiritual part in a ten, what does it mean individual or personal providence?
R. Private providence descends on each and every one to change him each time to make him more suitable, compatible with the ten. If the ten has to rise in its degree then each one has to rise in his personal degree inside the ten. That is the personal providence for each and everyone. everyone in their personal qualities change and connect to others, and begin to see in the connection between the more revelation of the Creator. We do not discover the Creator as something from above, even though we say, that sometimes we speak about it that way but we are referring to the Creator more as when we connect between us and we rise in that personal way so we as individuals Sefirot in the Partzuf, as we change and each and every one feels how his forms are accumulating him. His forms are individual forms which accumulate as a result of incorporation between everyone and they build from this, themselves a higher and higher Partzufim. I'll try to find easier simpler words.
17. S. (30:21) Yesterday we did the exercise you mentioned, we met three times, we read the excerpts and the place of the workshop we normally do, we just tried to build a common prayer, should we continue to work this way?
R. I think that sometimes it definitely is worthwhile, just make sure the people do not find it tasteless, with lack of desire, but if you have such a state and you see innovation in them, then definitely, yes.
18. S. (31:23) How can we help each other in the ten, support each other when we come to the realization all of us that there's no one besides me instead of none else besides Him?
R. Continue working. I do not have so much to say. there is no one as wise as the experienced and you will discover everything.
Reading excerpt #17 (32:05) “Since there is no giving of half a thing from heaven..”
19. S. (33:59) What does it mean a complete help to us for the Creator for complete help?
R. We are going to have to read it again then.
Reading excerpt #17 again (34:19)
20. R. (36:10) Meaning that if he does not leave for himself any desire besides all of his desires that are completely aimed at the Creator, this is called a complete prayer, a complete plea, one desire.
21. S. (36:33) How to instill the deficiency on the intention the Creator sends, that there's nothing else besides Him or is there a different intention you can add?
R. I do not know how to answer you. I think that only through the connection with the friends you can reach a deeper intention, the more your friends connected and aimed at this same goal then this mutual intention becomes a strong true and powerful real intention. One cannot build his own intention on his own. No you cannot do any of that if you are on your own. The minimum of the many is two, why, because one opposite the other, we can arrange our intentions, our inclinations, direction. These too are needed therefore any correction of intentions is firstly the correction of a relationship between us.
S. Is the depth of the intention in the number of friends that are connected around the same deficiency?
R. The amount of friends, the power of the intention and the greatness of the goal.
22. S. (38:16) Should a person in the ten feel himself with the ten as one?
R. Yes, ultimately they have to feel that even though their thoughts, desires and intentions could be somewhat contradictory to each other, deviating from each other but ultimately they reach a state where they are all integrated towards a single goal and a single heart.
S. So the individual friend and the ten is the same prayer?
R. Yes, it ends up as the same prayer, ultimately this is called as one man in one heart.
S. What is the prayer usually they say the prayer is for us to change so because that is also an individual work towards a friend?
R. I did not hear what you're saying it like you're swallowing the end of the sentence.
S. I'm saying that the prayer that we hear that the person should have is to change so the question is, is the Tens prayer also to change relative to the Creator, towards the Creator?
R. Requests on man’s part is first to make himself compatible to the friends, to make himself one man with one heart and then from the single heart they can turn to the Creator and certainly the Creator will feel them because the Creator is ultimately the upper Partzuf towards them, if they come as a ten as complete ten Sefirot then they can truly achieve connection with the higher Partzuf and that is called the Creator.
S. But the prayer remains the same prayer, the prayer of the ten, it is also that we should change?
R. Yes.
23. S. () If we are now ourselves completely, we annul, we cancel the will to receive. Do we need to feel some suffering in the ten in order to reach it?
R. Perhaps not suffering but joy that you are annulling yourself towards the Creator and you want to get closer to the Creator and adhere to him, so why should it be suffering. You are not really taking your own emotions into account but what is important is the result, the outcome.
24. S. (41:47) If the Creator demands that we annul towards the desire, annul all of our desires, how does it work out with having the need to have the desire for his help. Should some desires be annulled and others not?
R. That is not important what desires are canceled or not and in what way measuring each and every desire, what is important is that I try to cling to the Creator and ask his help in that and whatever he does accept it as the right thing. Because I do not know the root of my soul, I do not know the form that I need to achieve so what the Creator does I accept it joyfully as long as I'm going through states under his influence.
25. S. (43:00) What does it mean to resemble the friends?
R. That I want to help a friend with whatever he wants, that is it.
26. S. (43:22) The ability of the ten to pray a year ago compared to this year, how can we measure if we advanced, if we're ready to ask more?
R. You cannot yet measure that. These things you cannot measure. This requires a specific actual spiritual degree.
27. S. (43:55) Rabash writes that we need to ask the Creator to annul all of his desires and leave only the desires that are for him. I would love to be in such a state where you have nothing of yourself but rather that everything is calibrated and aimed at the Creator, but I understand that there will be the other desires that the Creator will give, new states will come, how could that be?
R. It is written within my people do I dwell, if you connect to the ten, certainly inside the ten you are connected to the Creator. Only through entering the ten and wanting to nullify yourself towards them then there you find whether you feel it or not, that is still a question, depending on what action you are at but you are already getting closer to the Creator only by entering the ten.
28. S. (45:09) I'm adding to the previous question from the friend, what is the meaning of that there are no more desires for myself, how do you annul in such a way?
R. This is a result of the correction that comes from above from the upper light and when we want to connect we ask for that and bit by bit the upper light influences us and cleans and connects us together matching us to each other until we become a single Partzuf. A complete ten Sefirot that are in the right mutual interconnection between them and they have a common desire and a common action and then this is called the Partzuf. Then they discover from this mutual work, this common work they discover the upper force to a certain extent that He appears in them and this is called the revelation of the Creator to the created being.
29. S. (46:51) If a person annuls all of his desires, who actually does it and who leads me to annulling myself completely?
R. Of course, the Creator None Else Besides Him, who can work in all of reality besides Him. The only thing that depends on us is the scrutiny of desires, the deficiencies that we raise. Even then we need to clarify how much of it is our work or His work, that will still come.
S. Can you also understand it in a dual way or is it an absolute single?
R. In the meantime accept it as this is how it is.
30. S. (48:16) To give up all your desires, how does it relate to correct only the intention?
R. Because the desires themselves cannot express anything, not determine anything. The quality of the desire is determined by the intention and therefore the intention is the main thing.
31. S. (48:54) What does it mean to do the will of our Creator?
R. The Creator's will is to be as one man in one heart, that we will once again come to connection as in Adam HaRishon before the shattering, all of us together, all created beings. Human beings, but they will also include within them the still vegetative an animate as components of ourselves. That is the form we have to come back to, that is the will of the Creator.
32. S. (49:49) Can we determine or feel what those desires that are in order to receive?
R. What are those desires that are in order to receive? We have to try through connection between us to awaken them and to see if they are still in order to receive and to raise MAN that they will be corrected in order to bestow.
33. S. (50:17) Can we reach a complete prayer the moment we reach complete equivalence of form with the Creator?
R. No, before that we already have to be in complete prayer, according to the states that appear we have to try to be in complete prayer; to connect as much as possible “as one heart with one heart” and as much as possible to visualize before us that there is one Creator and raise to Him a single prayer. That all we ultimately want is: We want to be in connection with everyone and that the Creator will rule over all this entire connection, the entire world.
34. S. (51:15) Is the prayer for annulment a personal prayer or does each friend in the ten ask for the rest of the friends?
R. Both, but particularly the “one who prays for his friend is answered first”.
35. S. (51:49) What is a state where a person is asking for a complete annulment because since the beginning of the path he thinks that he is asking for complete annulment, how do we know now that this is complete annulment?
R. The more I advance the more I discover the bad in me, like the students of Rabbi Shimon; they were in a high degree and then they discovered they wanted to kill each other and therefore they prayed to the Creator to help each and every one overcome their will to receive and invert it to love, to the will to bestow.
36. S. (52:48) The Creator cannot stand the imperfection that He always reveals Himself the moment He has something to correct?
R. No. You cannot say that. He has His own plan.
37. S. (53:10) When will we reach the awareness that we are annulled before the Creator, or is that a constant state?
R. To nullify before the Creator we need to do that in each and every moment; it is non-stop work and in that we also need to give examples to each other and to support each other. And, this is what our prayer should be first and foremost because without annulment before the Creator we cannot connect to Him and raise any prayer.
S. How can I express my prayer towards my friends because I feel my friends in the ten but when I have to write a prayer, to express a prayer all of a sudden I become deaf, how can I do it?
R. Try. I have nothing more to say. You have to try to be connected to them and make an effort. There's nothing else to do here, always make an effort. Try to write to yourselves all kinds of notes on your phone to get yourself a reminder every now and then until it has become a second nature and all sorts of things. Go ahead, connect to each other every half an hour, only in thought connections without words; but you already know what you are doing. And even if it is a nuisance and annoying but you will get used to it, all of a sudden you will ask yourself there was no call, no reminder? what's going on with them, where am I? thus you will get used to it, what can we do? We live in this mechanical world and we need to use it, to use what we have.
38. S. (56:18) It sounds illogical that all the ten come to one deficiency. How does it work when everyone is in the same deficiency?
R. There is the single Creator, there is one life, one goal so why can’t there be one Creator?
S. Because everyone is in different states.
R. So what. From different states everyone wants to achieve one goal: to reveal the Creator, to adhere to Him and to be near Him let's say. We want to come to a state where we come back to our roots; each one from his place, but as we come to the Root we all unite as one.
S. And this is our external work, let's say to bring all the friends to that state of this deficiency?
R. Yes. We have to bring all of humanity, whoever is alive or not alive yet doesn't matter, to all be as one man as in one heart.
39. S. (57:58) The friends help me organize my attitude to life into spirituality. The question is how come the friends see the truth, all the truth and I do not?
R. First of all they look at you through their will to receive and not from love but also from criticism, so their observation of you is more objective.
40. S. (58:46) Is it that we have to be in that state to act like we are in None Else Besides Him all the time, to be as much closer to each other as possible because none of us have this actual desire the desire we develop is between us and if we develop this between us then we can reach something?
R. I did not hear a question.
S. If we see that it is not possible to be in None Else Besides Him then we have to remind each other about it and from that point we can develop something because there is no chance in the world I can ask for my friends without thinking about myself?
R. Okay, we will think about your question.
41. S. (01:00:26) What is the difference between asking for the whole ten and when all of us ask?
R. When I’m asking for the whole ten I wish to come close to my individual point of correction, but it's enough to simply turn to the Creator all of us together need to reach his innermost individual points and to connect them as much as possible, as much as we can, depict it and turn to the Creator together. That is the true prayer.
42. S. (01:01:18) I wanted to ask a minute ago when a friend said that he had many questions in his head. How do you recommend we arrange ourselves in the lessons and we will be able to absorb you in the lesson when we have dozens of questions in our head?
R. I don't know. I feel him as new. He still hasn’t organized all those things. He needs to go through some time before a person feels exactly where he is at, where am I aimed towards and my attitude towards the ten which I mostly scrutinize those things? I can just go around and around with my questions by myself and it will be philosophy and not Kabbalah. We will never scrutinize it correctly. Actually all the work is to put myself into the ten with all of my desires, all of my thoughts, as much as possible inside the ten and then very quickly scrutinize my internality; what do I want, who am I drawn to? Etc. So, all those thoughts and all those questions that are going around in my head, they will settle down, they will find a place: on the one hand that will be the group down below, on the other hand the direction to the Creator up above, and then between these two points I fairly quickly arrange all my confusions if I will aim myself in this way.
S. And in the lesson when you speak as a student what is the best thing for me to do when I have all these questions in my head in order to connect to you and to listen to what you're giving to us?
R. To disconnect from your thoughts and to connect to my thoughts: to hear what you as a reader are reading, let's say you're going to read something, all of us need to disconnect on what was there before and hear or listen to this new reading, “they should be as new in your eyes”. And then once he hears and somehow sort out this thing then you will begin to work with it; connect with the friends, sort out sentences, versus and so on. But this is on the condition that you already have a free head and a free heart compared to what was there before in the previous lesson. That is not simple but that's how we need to study.
In these couple of months we were going through many verses connected to this time period called “ten terrible days”, Rosh HaShana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot; they are the foundation of our development, so it's worthwhile for us to get into this as deep as possible.
Reading Excerpt # 18 twice (01:05:28)
43. S. (01:09:26) What does it mean that, if a person is not helped then he's better off dead?
R. Because then he is definitely dead. If he's not being helped let's say the friends don't want to connect with him and everyone for some reason don't want to connect to the Creator, then they're lost and they’re in a state that is death; they're disconnected from the Creator, from the upper light and that is how they conclude their lives. Although they received an opportunity, the Creator is pulling them and He wants them to approach Him and to ask, but for some reason they are lazy and they don't connect and are not connected amongst themselves, and they don't turn to the Creator correctly, sufficiently. Therefore these three conditions for the prayer are necessary for us to attain between us our lives, it’s not something just about asking for forgiveness and everything will be a little better or anything else people think about. For us, this judgment of the terrible days, Rosh HaShana, Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, these are days where we need to understand that there is Judgment here; either to remain in death or to rise to the degree of true life, spiritual life. Here we have to see ourselves as standing between the two.
45. S. (01:11:53) It is unclear from here, it's written that prayer is the work of the heart, the more he's lost, so is the size of the prayer, can you explain this?
R. As much or the more he thinks that he is lost, he feels that he is lost, he's incapable of anything, to that extent in this way he has got a prayer to connect with the friend's, connect with the Creator in order to reach mutual giving with the friends and the Creator, and in that see true life.
46. S. (01:12:49) It says prayer of the heart. Can a person distinguish between his heart and mind and say now I pray in my heart and now in my mind?
R. I think each one is capable of doing this, the feelings are in the heart, the thought is in the brain. Relatively speaking it is not so difficult to distinguish between the two.
S. Intention is it work in the mind or the heart?
R. Intention can be both in the heart and in the brain, it depends where it is where a person checks it and works with it.
S. How can this be distinguished?
R. Try to feel what you have got in your heart and what you have got in your brain, let's just say just give us a topic.
S. Intention.
R. Intention for what?
S. Intention that we ask to always have an intention towards connection, towards the Creator?
R. Okay, you wish to test if your intention for connection, is it a true one, so let's try to do it in the brain or in the heart?
S. In my feeling it is inseparable. It works together.
R. It cannot be, both existing each one and the person can distinguish between them it can be one topic but he feels in the brain and in the heart and for him that is work on it and you will see to what extent it's not together and you see how you can work with a friend in order to separate, isolate, arrange the intention in the brain intention in the heart the rain is really an assistant to.
47. S. (01:15:29) I realize it is an important state to be lost in the heart. How can you come to the state to be lost in the heart? Is it a matter of prayer? Is there a certain prayer for that ,how does it work, how can you come to this important state?
R. Yes, because he feels in the heart that he has got no chance to reach bestowal, connection with the group, connection with a Creator, this is the meaning of being lost and that's what he feels in the heart.
S. And how can I come to that state?
R. How do I come to the state? Try to enter your heart and feel what you have in it and scrutinize what you have in your heart using the brain, or from the opposite, for how much you can add your desires to your thoughts and then you will see the connection between the heart and the brain, only these two exist for us.
S. Is it a desire to want to be lost in the heart?
R. Yes.
S. And how can we help each other to come to this desire?
R. Try, pressure your heart and your brain, use both to aim yourself at this special state, check it, feel it, maybe you're right. Write something that you think about then go into some other scrutiny with the heart and brain, so it will be more brain and less heart, and you will see how you try with both of those systems, the brain, and the heart. Try to understand your position, what is working in you, try to aim them together in the connection between them towards the Creator.
48. S. (01:18:20) The scrutiny, I have a tendency to run away from it and to say, the Rav says the main connection in the ten but this personal scrutiny that you are detailing, I have this tendency to run from?
R. This is the egoistic tendency when you don't want to be complicated and feel yourself, that you don't know where you are. It is as if you lose your fundamental point where you're standing, but try nonetheless.
S. Is this personal responsibility for each of us, you can't just go and say the main thing is connection between us and that's it?
R. With respect to connection, I also want to enter and exit into the connection in order to feel all this point and cause its strengthening.
49. S. (01:19:33) So it turns out that according to the article, putting yourself in the place of a person who wants redundancies, that's clear we all get that. But to put yourself in the same place when you are sentenced to death and you were just waiting for your execution, that is not simple, is that is a beneficial thing to do, talking about the end of the ego and it is good to be put in such a state?
R. I don't know. I don't think it's our situation, maybe not yet but we have to imagine to ourselves how to connect to our friends and depict how we're not connected, connected to the Creator, and not connected to the Creator and how much we can be between these two states.
S. These extreme examples are not for our level?
R. You should try gently and then you will see.
50. S. (01:20:53) How to free ourselves from the garbage that is bothering me to concentrate on the importance of the goal and disperses me in all kinds of directions?
R. Only connect to your friends, this will help you very much to see where is the garbage and where is not and how much you can distance yourself from it and cleanse ourselves, cleansing oneself a person can usually by being in the friends and then he can see what are his sources and what are not. Only through the connection, you should look.
S. If such a desire appears, what is the right action to do?
R. Be in the friends and from within the friends if one looks at what is happening to him, he quickly identifies what waste is and what is not and he can easily, in connection with the friends, get rid of the waste.
51. S. (01:22:23) Can we interpret help against him, in the manner when the ego is playing for connection, we get resistance in the mind and on the contrary, when there is an attraction on the mind and the resistance is in the heart?
R. Yes, it happens, it's natural, what should one do? The connection in the friends should establish you, should stabilize you, the mind, the hearts, in the better direction, the worse direction. The main thing is connection with the friends that will give you exactly a real fundamental point where you can stand on correctly and scrutinize everything.
52. S. (01:23:19) When a person says my death is better than my life the meaning is physical or a state that he was in prior to entrance for spirituality?
R. No, I'm better off dead than alive, it depends on what the person depicts death is for him, it may be a disconnection from friends, it may be this connection from spirituality, from the Creator, it may be disconnection from corporeal life. I don't know, it's how each one depicts it for his own self.
53. S. (01:24:25) If the pleasure from the sin is born in the thought, what must always be in my heart so my thoughts will be ready prior to the pleasure?
R. Reason, intention, thought, feeling pleasure, these are all things we have to scrutinize so we're not confused between the two. All the different states we only bring down to the mind and the heart, the brain and the heart, brain, and the hearts. So first of all scrutinize I am receiving this discernment in my brains or in my heart? And then I can keep on scrutinizing these things.
54. S. (01:25:58) They're telling us that we're not working with a desire, but the work is correcting our intentions from receiving to bestowal. Can you explain how the cancellation of desire brings about the correction or inversion of our intentions?
R. annulment of the desire means annulment of the desire in order to receive, if I annul that I am left with the intention in order to bestow and by that I can already connect to the Creator.
55. S. (01:26:34) You said that in general we have to aspire to bestow to the Creator but how can you understand specific desires, what we can fill and what can we avoid?
R. It doesn't matter to us which desires, what is important is the intention and not to be confused between the desires and the intention. When I need to perform a restriction over the intention in order to receive and then the desires, I can use them; suppose I have a filter through which I pass all my intentions and only the intentions in order to bestow go through this filter and then I can use all my desires so that there will be an intention in order to bestow already, so I no longer need to examine this desires, are they good or not? because they're all in order to bestow, to the friends, to the Creator. Meaning our work is to adhere to the intentions, what we want to happen as a result of the usage of our desires: If it is for the best of others except for me I am allowed to use them, if it's not for others I must not use them, does not matter what desires.
56. S. (01:28:33) How to fully annul your will before the Creator not partially, as it says in the article, because the ego is trying to take advantage of everything?
R. I think that all we need is to do it through the society, there is nothing else we can do. When Kabbalists say, “from love of others to the love of the Creator”, it means I cannot perform action towards the Creator if I don't perform it first for others. And that is what we should do. That is why all of our work in the meantime is only in the good connection, wide, from one heart to another, between us.
57. S. (01:29:33) Why does the Creator bring a person to a prayer even if we don't have free will in that?
R. There is no free will in man's path, the free will is in the connection between people, so by that he comes to proximity to the Creator. Read these articles again “the peace” article “the freedom” article, these are the first articles by Baal HaSulam.
58. S. (01:30:24) Who am I if everything comes from Him, so where is the prayer?
R. Everything comes from above but established by my response from below. This is why we must respond correctly for each and every moment in our life.
59. S. (01:30:51) we conclude from this that we should thank the Creator for giving us the possibility to pray to Him, but then why are we blamed if we the Creator didn't invite us to pray, what is the free appeal to Him?
R. The Creator invites us to pray by awakening all kinds of deficiencies in us and if we are not responding to these deficiencies then he leaves us, or maybe He gives us bigger deficiencies, stronger, bigger problems, pain, etc., this is the calculation we should not go into. What we should do is change the subject of the prayer, we're not praying to the Creator so that each and every one feel how much he is not in a good situation but rather that each and every one will feel how much he doesn't have connection to the friends; and then he is asking connection from the Creator, for intense connection, for adhesion in the connection to such an extent that he reaches The Complete Correction. Because besides connection we need nothing, we need to reach a connection just like before the shattering of Adam HaRishon. That’s it.
60. S. (01:32:42) There are levels in building the prayer, I'm asking for us, I'm asking for them, we are asking for ourselves, we are asking for the others, which of the forms is closer to address the Creator?
R. To address the Creator, the closest possible way is when we are asking for the entire Humanity; for all created beings, for everyone, to connect and be as one man in one heart, and that the Creator will fill all this vessel, this great vessel that is called ‘The corrected Adam HaRishon’.
61. S. (01:33:33) It is important to ask, and we heard more than once, why didn't you ask? What to do if there is a necessity for help but I feel it is a shame to ask for yourself?
R. Yes, for oneself it is a shame to ask unless it is under condition that I incorporate in my prayer everyone's request. Because I am not in this situation alone there are many other people so I'm asking for everyone. Try to pray over what is important for you but not for me but for all of us, and the Creator is given us sufficient opportunities.
62. S. (01:34:35) When the Creator doesn't give us the force to pray, is it the reason to build a bigger deficiency in us?
R. Yes. It's not that we need to build, maybe we should try to feel a small deficiency as a big one if it is on the path for correction.
63. S. (01:35:05) What delights the Creator?
R. When we want to turn to Him; to ask for connection from Him, to ask to feel Him in the connection between us, to feel that we are in adhesion with Him And, in this way to come to the complete form, that means that we are connected with Him in a complete form.
64. S. (01:35:46) How can I know that I can receive in order to bring contentment to the Creator?
R. Talk about that with your friends, talk about that with your friends and you will see how much you will understand it.
65. S. (01:36:18) If we are coming to a connection in our ten, does it mean we are coming to a connection with the Creator?
R. that is the beginning of the connection with the Creator already. In your ten, even when you are not connecting with another ten, you already bridge to a connection with the Creator.
66. S. (01:26:46) What does the prayer correct in the person that prays, what is the address to the Creator change in me?
R. A prayer calls for an upper force from the Creator that connects us to each other in the way we used to be connected in the system of Adam HaRishon prior to the sin. Then we are connecting together all of us to the same system and all the shattering also be corrected and connected to us, that is why we are told that we are not reaching a feeling of connection as Adam HaRishon that was like one person, one point; but rather we will feel our connection 620 times more, this means 620 times more compared to what used to be in Adam HaRishon. That is called “the complete form of the light of Ein Sof in the one desire in order to bestow”.
67. S. (01:38:12) It seems like all the work is to come to a common appeal to the Creator and then the Creator will answer. Why is it so hard to get to that and what practically will help us?
R. It's because our egoistic will to receive does not let us think of each other, connect to each other, come close to each other, and this is how we are in states that we should bring ourselves just like now to the Judgment Day; to a state that we are standing before judgment and then what can you do, what will happen to us? Then we reach a request, a prayer.
68. S. (01:39:17) How can I invert my heart to become similar to the ten friends if each is different from the other? How can you find the one point to come to a common prayer in complete annulment before the friends and to aim all my thoughts just for their desires?
R. We don't do that, It's the upper light that connects us and makes us as One Bundle.

Reading Excerpt #20 twice (01:42:52)
69. S. (01:45:18) This intention to do all actions for the sake of the Creator what is that? Is that from the same point of adhesion to the ten and the Creator?
R. That's for us to rise about our will to receive, it is not something that is specifically for the Creator but rather there are two things, to exit the will to receive that I don't want to be in it, yes, when I do everything in order to answer the will to receive and to do everything for the sake of the Creator, in order to bestow.
S. It is written here that all the actions and all the desires need to be done for the sake of the Creator. If the person has a desire, what to do, to say no I don't want to be in that I will be incorporated with the ten?
R. Yes, even if you go and connect to the ten, it is in order to disconnect from our Self.
S. Ok, I disconnected from myself, I'm incorporating with my friends and feeling the friends what is next? What does it mean that I am acting for their benefit and for the benefit of the creator?
R. You cannot do anything for the benefit of the Creator, what can you do for the sake of the Creator? If you bestow to the friends, by that you can do good, give contentment to the Creator, bestow to the Creator. It is like small children and their mother. One of the children wants to do good to the mother so what does he do, he cannot do anything for his mother, what can we do? So, the more he can play with the other children by that he does something good for her. That is the way he can express his love for his mother.
S. What does it mean to do all the actions for the benefit of the Creator, we need to rise each time above every desire that appears and to choose adhesion with the friends instead?
R. Right. There's nothing else.
70. S. (01:48:24) I disconnected from myself than a person has to bestow in order to ask?
R. Yes correct.
71. S. (01:48:50) In the previous excerpts that we read about prayer, I felt that if I don't have a prayer in my heart it’s a feeling that I'm lost, and here we are reading that a person feels lost if he doesn't receive the desire to bestow from the Creator. Is prayer and the desire to bestow the same thing?
R. No it is not the same thing but the prayers that are addressed to the Creator and the desire to bestow is something that we receive from the Creator. If we properly ask, then we get the will to bestow.
S. Is prayer a feeling that there is a prayer that I can turn to the Creator, is that not enough? Do I also need to yearn for wanting to receive something, like to bestow?
R. Yes, you need the prayer as much as you can to scrutinize exactly what you want to receive from the Creator. Specifically from the precision in the prayer from the way you pray, that gives Him joy, you give Him contentment by that. Because in the prayer, you express your relationship to the Creator to the extent that you acknowledge that He is the almighty, how much He is the one who created everything. He created everything and established everything so that the created beings will feel where they are, and they can rise from the deep hole to a high mountain and by that they will feel the intensity of creation and the intensity of the Creator and they will be able to enjoy it. He doesn’t make it so you will be respected or will be known for His power. It is for them to feel and enjoy the entire creation and the intensity of the whole of creation. We will be incorporated in that.
S. When we read excerpt #15 we talked about meaning to pay attention to the fact that the prayer we are getting is also coming from the Creator and when we aim ourselves this way during the feeling on the prayer, what remains is just a prayer of gratitude. The feeling is that the last prayer to the Creator is gratitude and not the desire to bestow, so that's why I'm asking here because eventually what I am aiming myself in such a way is that I come to thanks and not to request that I'm missing something as if there is already perfection. What is that desire to bestow that I need to ask the Creator for?
R. The desire to bestow is expressed in my connection to the friends and naturally I reject them and that’s clear. And later when I rise to a connection with their friends, along with that I need to reach a connection with the Creator and then this desire to bestow which is the Creator clothes in me.
72. S. (01:52:26) Each time we raise a prayer we need to go to all these three states? That only the Creator can help and put forth all the efforts possible and only coming to despair from my own forces and my death is better than my life, those conditions have to take place in order for us to come to a prayer?
R. That’s correct, all they do is to establish one correct vessel.
73. S. (01:53:01) You said that desires towards others are permitted and desires for correct feeling are prohibited, how do I measure and make sure that this will to receive is not spinning me?
R. It is only through the connection with the friends. Do I feel that what I am about to do is that they need it rather I myself.
74. S. (01:53:34) Is the true force of the ten measured specifically in protecting us from the matter of being attracted to the right?
R. Ask again in a clearer way.
S. Is the true force of the ten by protecting us by being drawn to the right?
R. Why the right?
S. Because if you are pulling to the right then there is a light feeling and no heaviness and you float, and here the ten sustains you so that you don't go too much there. Rather it keeps the line of everything done through the first nine.
R. I don't think this is the place to scrutinize, no.. Certainly, the left is felt better than the right because it is part of our will to receive, and the right is entirely bestowal, and you don't have a lot of discernments there, but you should still scrutinize that. I cannot answer just like that, you need more examples.
75. S. (01:55:12) If a person wants to pray but he checks inside and those three conditions are not full and my death isn’t better than my life but I’m still not there yet so how do I work with this in the ten?
R. Again.
S. Suppose a person wants to pray but he's examining himself about these three conditions for prayer and they are not occurring inside. He's not yet in a state of feeling better dead than alive, doesn't believe yet that the Creator can really help him, he is somewhere in between.
R. So what?
S. So can one pray?
R. You should pray no matter what in every possible state. What will come out of it that's according to your prayer. A person cannot check whether he is in those three conditions or not, do you understand? The second condition, where he has no other council, so what can you do? My death is better than my life, in the third condition, what actually am I doing here? Therefore, I don't think that we need to be meticulous with each and every condition rather the main thing is connection in the group and the appeal to the Creator from that and then the Creator takes each and every ten in all kinds of stages and paths of its own and then advances us. The main thing is to be together and in prayer to the Creator. Now we have a few days that we need to invest ourselves in that.
S. To continue that, with yesterday's experience in the work in the ten of the prayer, if you are saying that the most important is that it is together and it doesn’t really matter what we are praying about, is it okay for the person on duty to find a general prayer and then we connect and it doesn’t really matter what the prayer is about?
R. Why shouldn’t we all seek it?
S. We don't know how, each one comes from his own place.
R. From His own place, each should take some little prayers from him and from him and from him from all the friends, yes and they're all connected to that and not that there's one on duty it could be one as the representative, as the emissary that expresses it but not that he chooses in place of everyone.
S. But then there is not one prayer, there are many different prayers.
R. Very well doesn't matter, it's not important as long as everyone participates in it and later you will see how to connect, how to combine.
76. S. (1:58:49) What can I receive from the Creator and what can I give the friends? Only the intention?
R. Yes, the desires you can’t but the intention that you hear what you want to do and how they are connecting and how you are connecting with them, we need to connect with each and every prayer, from all the prayers of the friends and by that we truly feel ourselves, truly connected with one another. Come on, let's do it that way.
77. S. (1:59:37) If I feel the desire of all the ten inside me and I raise the prayer to the Creator is that considered a prayer of many?
R. If you are Incorporated from the whole ten and try all together to be together with them and to raise this prayer together with them to the Creator, that's the real prayer, that is the public prayer where the prayer becomes one.
78. S. (2:00:20) When you reach those three conditions of the prayer that were mentioned in the previous article, what is the Creator’s next response, immediate response?
R. That I don't know the immediate response of the Creator. I can demand from Him that He should respond to my request immediately? For the Creator to respond to my prayer immediately I cannot and also the truth is that one very special thing is taking place here, that the moment I raise my pray to the Creator and feel that I want to adhere to Him and that I seemingly come to adhesion with Him what else is there to wait for? What else is there to await? If he is the good that does good to all and there's no other calculations here but to do good to each and every one then I already, by that, am in contact with the Creator and in adhesion with Him. On behalf of the Creator there needs to be no action towards me only on my behalf the correct deficiency to adhere to him.
79. S. (2:02:04) Can we be in the right intention from the heart because it is felt that we can only hold the intention through the intellect?
R. Try and you will see. You need to constantly be trying more and more to be closer to the Creator and to turn to Him and you will see that you will have internal changes taking place.
80. S. (2:03:02) Yesterday in the evening meeting of the ten we had a common outcry, there was a certain workshop inside the ten and suddenly everyone started to open his heart and how hard it is to work on the faith above reason, how hard the mind makes things for us, how everyday it’s hard to raise things above reason so there was an outcry and actually I was feeling this for the last couple of days and then I saw that the whole ten is feeling that way. How can our ten use this state in the most beneficial way?
R. Continue, simply continue, and learn from the states that you are going through. I am happy to hear that.
81. S. (2:04:33) I have two questions: the right prayer is the force of the connection in the ten?
R. Yes.
S. Second question is the prayer of many when each of the friends writes two or three lines, five at most and what we all get from that list we put it all together, is that the right prayer?
R. Yes, as much as possible try to find connection, the correct observation of this state you are going through.
82. S. (2:06:07) Every morning we build a prayer for the day and every friend continues the other, short sentences each one saying a few words. Yesterday you said we should pray three times a day, you suggested it. In one of our meetings we have this exercise where every friend said his prayer, every friend just saying what he has in his heart and the feeling was completely different if we compare what we had in the morning and that prayer and we had, so my question is: what should be the real prayer?
R. That you want to connect together with one request to the Creator. This is already the beginning of the prayer where you don’t want anything except for your connection that the Creator can performs for you, upon you. In truth if he illuminates upon you with his light, His bestowal upon you then you truly feel that you are connected as one man in one heart. Now what do you want to be as one man in one heart? You want to bestow to the Creator, to adhere to Him, that is actually the whole prayer so there is the first part of the prayer that we will connect together as one man in one heart and the second part that from this one heart we want to adhere to the Creator, to also be with the Creator in our one heart of ours. That's it, there's nothing more, it’s all simple just to be persistent and tight to that, adjacent to what is going on there.
83. S. (2:08:48) Today's a special date. It is a holiday and yesterday you told us you were going to tell us what's so special about the fast. What should we ask for?
R. I don't know what to tell you, I don't ascribe anything to the fast more than the action itself. People don't eat so they have more of a clear mind and open heart towards anything they want to pray for, that is the whole matter of the fast.
84. S. (2:09:36) Can we have guidance regarding Yom Kippur, what should we do in the ten?
R. There is the order that comes on Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, which is mostly prayers. If you take the prayers that take place on this day you will find there are many texts that can help you or may make you confused or not depending on who it suits and who not. What I would recommend is to connect between you and learn and study articles like Matan Torah, Arvut, such articles from Baal HaSulam and also articles from Rabash that belong to all these days of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot etc.
85. S. (2:12:57) Some friends out of habit do not turn on electricity. If the ten gather and one friend his custom is not to use electricity what do we do?
R. I don't know what we will do. I'm not responsible to decide for people what they will do. No, I can't, that's a problem, yes. I cannot say what I do, or I don't do so I won’t be an example for people, but each should choose for themselves. There are those who do not use electricity there are those who are using it in a kind of a single direction meaning they leave electricity on but don’t turn it on or off. There are different levels, but I do not decide those things. We only want one thing to happen, for us to all enter a day of connection of the hearts and appeal to the Creator to perform the connection in our hearts and be revealed in our common heart.
87. S. (2:15:20) When the intention of the corporeal desire is for oneself, but it doesn’t harm anyone else am I not allowed to use it if I want to advance, or must I put the right intention on it?
R. That's not understood. If I have the desire to enjoy, either I use it for the benefit of myself or for the benefit of others. Here your question is very clear, and we shouldn’t spin it somewhere else. If it is for the benefit of others then if it is not for the benefit of myself if it is for my benefit it is not for the benefit of others. That is how we need to check things.
88. S. (2:16:23) How does a request affect the Creator?
R. The deficiency. We want to raise MAN to the Creator, Mayim Nukvin, a deficiency. For him to reply to and as a result of that will receive spiritual qualities.
89. S. (02:17:03) Can we learn about the system of Adam HaRishon and how we use to be prior to the shattering?
R. We will learn that of course. Every stage of our correction shows us how and what way we were prior with the shattering.
90. S. (02:17:26) What should one do if suddenly the feeling of connection to the Creator and the hold of the ten is suddenly gone?
R. We need to go back and renew the connection to the ten, but it's good that it disappears, this is a sign that we are being shaken up.
91. S. (02:17:54) What force does a friend have when I unite with her in a prayer?
R. It has the same force that you have and double that both for you and for her and you will need to learn how we will use this big force that comes to us from connection.
92. S. (02:18:20) How, on Yom Kippur when we are not connected physically or virtually can we feel that we are together in the ten and with the prayers to the Creator?
R. First of all you can be in connection both physically or virtually however you want and, it is good that a person will also sit alone with the books, with his thoughts, and think, what he’s alive for. This is a day that everyone thinks about. Is this Saturday. Very well, are there any other questions to our women? No, well then, with that maybe we will give them just a question: How do we intend, both men and women, to go through this day called Yom Kippur, this day of judgement- tomorrow? Maybe it’s first worthwhile for us to say what we have for tomorrow, what kind of order we have for the Day?
Info Reviews Schedule for Yom Kippur
93. R. (02:23:38) Good luck and we'll see each other in the next meeting.
