Baal HaSulam. The Love of God and the Love of Man (Two Parts to the Torah: Between Man and the Creator and Between Man and Man)

2. R. (01:45) This is something very difficult, but it puts us in a true way that if I feel that there is a difference in any created being and the Creator in my eyes it means I am not bestowing yet, it is a sign that I am not bestowing. Look what he writes, we see there are two parts in the Torah. The first; commandments between man and the Creator, the second; commandments between actions between man and man. They're both one and the same, this means that the practice of them and the desire to go from them are Lishma meaning only to bestow pure bestowal, it makes no difference to the created being to begin with if one works for one's friend or for the Creator. Since it is engraved in the created being at birth that's how he is built that anything that comes from another appears as empty and unreal. We don't feel anybody outside of us, I do not care, I do not recognize actually I wouldn't recognize any of it is the still, vegetative and animate in a person wouldn't work on my will to receive an awaken in it all kinds of form of bestowal back to them, to be afraid of them or to come close to them, to try and enjoy them or to change them, to reject them, it is all towards the will to receive only. We can see it in little children that there are many things they don't recognize, they don't care about it, they don't feel it, they have no connection with it that they can enjoy it or be afraid of it or all together it doesn't go into a field of view, same with us in our worlds as adults. Also we don't feel many things that exist here. I don't feel a spiritual form, a spiritual world, I do not feel it because it is not working on me, it doesn't influence me that is what I feel, that is why I have no connection to it and that is why it is not in my field of view.

3. R. Okay right I see still we don't have any questions here, good. So clear. So that is how we grow, also in this world. That's how we grow gradually according to our will to receive that grows and that's how we grow and that's how in spirituality we grow. To the extent that we grow it can be open to us more and more spiritual matters. In corporeal matters that we go to school that is all according to a mold, a pattern, the way it is first grade second grade so on. That is what they give to everybody but in spirituality no, in spirituality if you don't finish first grade you can’t go to the second and third and so on. It all depends on your attainments. If you don't attain what you have in the first degree, the first class you're not integrated with it. You didn't change yourself, you didn’t better yourself so you are not prepared for the next degree. It's not that you can cheat here, it's judgment of truth.
4. S. (07:19) You said that if you see a difference between the other and the Creator then you are not in bestowal. What is that state that we come to that we don't see any difference between the Creator and the other?
R. It's a state that you see the Creator everywhere only. That you try now to recognize the Creator that he is standing behind every friend. Only the friends for now, only the friends in ten for now but then he reaches states that you really see that the whole world in such a way is built that behind every still vegetative and animate and speaking, beyond everyone is that one upper force that plays with them towards you in order for you to change and take them just as you take the Creator as you see him, and then you're recognized him that he's filling all of reality because the still, vegetative, animate and speaking is the place, the matrix, how do I say it, the material that the Creator can be revealed in. Otherwise the Creator we cannot see him, it is only come and see. Come means that you connect to the material, see that you reveal him in that material in that matter.
5. S. Simply to see the Creator behind the friends is to me there is depth behind those words you don't simply see the absence of the friend towards you that is the absence of the Creator.
R. You try to see the actions of the friends towards you; it is the actions of the Creator. That is it that is how you take them, there are no friends here it is the Creator appearing before you.
S. Simply I want to understand and to feel how can you incorporate emotionally in the friends and through them to the Creator so it's not something nearly intellectual super practical?
R. I'm also staying practical you have to imagine to yourself that it is not a group it is not a world it is all the appearance of the Creator towards you and if you try with them to stabilize yourself correctly towards them, towards the world and humanity and the group and the ten so then you according to that change and reach a state that you are willing you're ready for the revelation of the Creator. You just see him in all of those things that's called how the Creator is clothed in Divinity and now he is visible towards you and this is the reality of one force that manages and makes a whole world whole reality and you too because you come and review it according to the equivalence of form.
S. But in order to see Divinity as you described it was the role of love here because the article is called love the Creator and love of the created beings.
R. That is the whole complete corrected attitude that we need to reach.
6. S. (11:32) In the article it says they are told that secret bit by bit, what is the secret?
R. Secret means Lishma for his sake that it still can be revealed that you have to work in bestowing. That is the whole matter of religions, faith, all kinds of different philosophies compared to the wisdom of Kabbalah the working in order to bestow above our ego that is a secret that the Creator is demanding that from people because if you reveal it to people, they won't come close to it. It is hidden, and when it is hidden people come closer. They look, they hear, they are incorporated and it's a bit like for something unknown maybe they look at it through a little hole in that wall between this world and the next world but they do not recognize it they do not see it correctly that it's all in order to bestow it just reject them and then this rejection brings people closer because the concealment attracts you I want to know, I want to recognize what's concealed from me on one hand, on the other hand I am not afraid and this way we gradually from year to year from generation to generation we come closer with our minds and our feeling. We become more developed until we reach a state that in our generation you can reveal it to everybody as much as they hear or not it doesn't matter but the fact that it is above them. We bring all of humanity under this cover called bestowal. That is what the Creator demands and the world against that discovers as much as it is in reception and only wants to receive, only to control, only to resist and so on. Then we are in, we don't get along so much and they don't get along so much and then it turns out that there is a crisis in the world a very big crisis as you see, ecology and human society on all levels and there is also a crisis with us that we are a small group that is still we're trying to break through into spirituality to come close to it, and that is how we are advancing. More rules will be revealed, all kinds of supposedly … to us and maybe we will connect with them in the future and in this way, we will go through this wall.
7. S. (15:25) To build the Shechina, Divinity it means to take all of our desires from under the control of the will to receive to accumulate a certain critical mass and then?
R. It is called that all of our desires we have to try and work in connection with the Creator for the benefit of the others, by that we're building conditions for the Creator to be revealed in us.
8. S. (16:11) In the book, the paragraph starting one completes his work in love of others.
R. If one completes one's work in love of others, to bestow upon others in the final point, one also completes one's love for the Creator and bestows upon the Creator. And there is no difference between the two in the way they relate to the others they relate to the Creator. So anything that is outside one’s body, meaning outside of one’s self-interest is just equally either to bestow upon friends or bestow contentment upon one’s maker. That is why until we don't learn in the ten how to bestow to each and every friend and all the friends together in a mutual way until we don't build such a net of connections between us, each one towards the others we will not be ready for the revelation of the Creator. This net is called the Partzuf, simply a Partzuf and this way we make a place for the revelation of the Creator as the inner light that fills our desires. Then it is called a Sefira. This is what we learn as he assumed that love your friend as yourself, this condition is the ultimate goal in the practice. This is something we are obligated to do between us, as it is clear to nature and forms man. We should not be mistaken about actions since they are set before his eyes. He knows that if he puts the needs of his friends before his own needs then he is in the quality of bestowal. For this reason he does not define the goal as and you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Why not? They are one and the same, since he also should love his friend with all his heart and all his soul and with all his might and this is the meaning of the words as yourself, he certainly loves himself without having soul and might to begin with from nature and with the Creator he may deceive oneself but with his friends it is always spread out before his eyes. It is clear we have nowhere to run to everything is before us you're welcome to the upper world you're welcome to reveal the Creator you're welcome to the eternity everything, just do this work respect this condition from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator that is on purpose before us so we have a way to reach him otherwise without this middle degree from our degree to the love of the others and from the others to the Creator we could not reach it we have nothing to grasp the Creator with how to be concerned, how to feel him how far am I closing what he has and what not what can I do if it is only by me dealing with the friends otherwise there is no chance. That is something we have to learn for a long time. I know it myself, that is why let's try and adapt this.
9. S. (20:36) It says that there are many demands, there are always people around him who pressure him. I feel that when I come out of the lesson, I don't have these demands from those who will pressure me. There's no one to pressure me. What can I do with it?
R. I don't know. Do you discover that the relationships in the ten are so bad that your friends are not willing to connect at all?
S. No, I discovered that I leave room for myself to escape.
R. Ok, that is good. You learn two things here, what the Creator needs of you and what you're demanding of yourself that is really opposite. The Creator wants you to connect to everybody and Him through them, and you see that you don't have the forces or the will, and you can't do anything, you’re going to sleep and that’s it. So what should you do in such a case? Except for a plea to the friends and cry for help there is nothing to do. So do it.
S. I simply feel those virtual meetings don't pose enough of a demand.
R. So try and make physical meetings, you are in Tel Aviv. Are you in the same city, all of you?
S. No.
R. Well, I don't know what to say. For now, still, there is a need to connect physically, for a social meeting, but also the pandemic, look what it is doing to us on purpose from above, what we are receiving. That is why try and aim your hearts, and even if for all kinds of reasons you still can't be in one place you will make that one virtual place, and there you will connect. And this virtual place will become a spiritual place where you will connect in your desires. Then your reward will be a loss, that from the loss you see by this now you'll reach a reward.
10. S. (23:58) We learn that love of others is not the purpose of creation so in what moment does the love of the other become love of the Creator?
R. Actually the love of others needs to bring us to a degree that we do in order to bestow, and then it becomes love of the Creator. We still need to speak about the difference between them, why it’s two degrees, why if I love the others a bit, I can already reach the love of the Creator or not, but we must still reach connections. Let’s not reach such huge things like love. Connection, connection between us.
11. S. (25:02) What is the love for the Creator?
R. Love of the Creator is that I feel that He is my internality. That He determines all my mind and all my heart, all my actions, everything that happens around me, everything He determines. And I am in a state that gradually I learn and discover that I agree with Him in mind and heart, in everything. My spiritual development starts by being in Him like in a womb, like a little embryo, like a little drop, a drop of seed in the womb. And from that I develop. I develop by agreeing more and more for his control on all of reality. That by this I build my will to receive. Desires to receive grow in me in the way that I discover Him in all of reality, and I want it, I love it, I pray, I yearn for it. That‘s called that we grow.
12. S. (26:29) How can a person deceive himself if is on the path of truth but the friends can't deceive me?
R. Try and see. We still are incorporated in society, we annul towards society, they can bestow upon us and aim correctly.
13. S. (26:57) When I look at the Creator through the ten, I see only my ego. I need to let my ego express itself, reveal all the way or I have to restrict it?
R. You will not reveal your ego either if you don’t start resisting it. It’s all revealed in a way and in the opposite form. That’s why you behave in such a way that you supposedly love the friends, and to the extent that you supposedly want to love them, you’ll reveal your ego more and more.
14. S. (27:39) Why the more we try to work for the friends it's revealed that we work for ourselves and not through them to the Creator?
R. Great, that’s exactly what I just said. You discover the truth. As much as you are in your ego, in your will to receive and try and more and more to be in order to bestow, from that you will see you are more and more in order to receive. And it is good. That is how we discover it until a certain degree, and then it inverts.
15. S. (28:25) It says from love of the created beings to love of the Creator, so when does it happen?
R. It will happen, first do it for the love of the created beings. I can't tell you when because these values we don't have them in us yet.
16. S. (28:45) What is that mutuality that is described between the ten and all its members, each and every friend?
R. Mutuality is that in us we all need to yearn for the force of bestowal, that the mutual support will be revealed between us and that will be the Creator. And we won't have any division in our opinions, that the Creator is the only thing that we can agree on. That we can point to it and say here, this is our God. Everyone accepts Him differently and we cannot compare our inspiration from the Creator, but it will be clear to us that it is the Creator only revealed in the eyes of the others, in their way, but it is the same Creator.
17. S. (29:50) Can we say that the love of friends is the pressure that they apply on me and from my part it’s only love and care and annulment?
R. It could be that way, there is something about it, yeah.
18. S. (30:07) How to throw a rope to a friend and extract her from her ego?
R. Come to her, try to hug her, bring her closer and after she reaches some kind of contact with us, we need to try and make a constant connection with her. It is possible in the ten. I don't really have the words for it now but try, it is simple things, meaning humane.
19. S. (30:53) To feel the world was created for me and it is mine. Is that the greatest pleasure or there is a greater pleasure?
R. The greatest pleasure is to bestow to the others. That by this you get a gift from the Creator.
20. R. (31:25) I think that for the women it is easier to understand because to bestow to the others, to kids, to family, they get joy in it. They get it from them, and the men have to learn about it more. We finish the lesson by this but we have another one in a few hours and we will try to connect to it and maybe prepare questions, and by that we will be connected. What shall we do for now? I think that maybe go through all these questions, what we were speaking about, prepare more questions in order to understand even deeper and wider this whole topic of mind and heart, and in this way we advance. And we have a bit more, maybe one more lesson in this article, the love of the Creator and the love of man, and maybe we will go through it in the afternoon, whatever you want.
