Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. Introduction to the Book Panim Meirot uMasbirot, Item 13.

Reading Item13. (00:24) “Now you can understand the need for…”

Reading Item14. (09:03) “Now we have found the opening to…”

1. S. (16:48) ABYA of impurity, is it below ABYA of Kedusha

R. Yes.

S. Is that what we call the chapter of Klipot?

R. Yes.

2. S. (17:12) What did we learn, what is this system that he described right now?

R. What is he talking about?

S. In the beginning he says that the system of Sitra Achra and the Klipot are a necessity to give him the vessels of reception when he is small and that he’s still nourishing there, so what is the meaning of all this?

R. To show as much as we need the Klipot.

S. Then he details here if you can explain it a little bit more?

R. We will do it gradually.

S. Can you explain the whole righteous, truth in matters of lights and vessels?

R. Yes, it’s confusing for us, what can you do?

S. It actually explains but if we could understand the explanation.

R. We’ll do it.

3. S. (18:18) It turns out that we must in our work be drawn to mercy. We don't have the vessels to scrutinize truth and peace.

R. Right.

S. What's the main thing that we have to attain in the quality of mercy?

R. That it will be in all our actions. That we connect to the degree of Hesed, we bestow on the degree of Hesed and in this way we advance.

4. S. (19:05) It is written, “In this a person needs to be the main subject towards it and because a person is not qualified for his goal, nonetheless, they are all strife and falsehood.” What does it mean that a person is not qualified for his goal and when can he be qualified for his goal?

R. He can acquire the vessels of bestowal in a direct way, we’ll learn about it. He doesn’t have them, from birth it’s not there.

5. S. (19:54) A person moves between impurity and Kedusha or does he begin in impurity and rise to Kedusha?

R. No, it changes, it goes from one to the other.

Reading Item 15. (20:19) “Now we have been granted the understanding…”

Reading Item 16. (25:33) “We must know the nature of the two kinds...”

6. S. (31:59) Why not, why shouldn't it be, and you chose the sweet?

R. That's the way we choose but except for that there's problems.

S. As if there was a possibility to do it this way, to leave reality and good and even better and even better, this whole story of this against that of the other system, of truth and falsehood is not accepted within our reason.

R. What should you do? Please, advise.

S. We need many systems to convince a person it’s against his intellect, against his desire.

R. And?

S. Gradually in a very external, even artificial way.

R. That's what happens, that’s what is happening to us. Through an accumulation of many deeds and their results eventually we understand what we’re lacking.

S. To convince a person that the sweet is a lie?

R. That’s already good, the fact that we understand that to advance towards the truth is to understand that sweet is a lie, yes. Well, what can we do?

7. S. (34:16) It actually turns out that all that remains is to consider the above reason.

R. That was clear to begin with, yes.

S. It turns out that that's the only way to advance. All the discernments of sweet and bitter are in order to begin to prepare other ways to advance in sweet, in faith above reason, maybe?

R. Yes. Okay, let's end here.
