Part 2:

Rabash. Article No. 21, 1990. What Is, “As I Am for Nothing, so You

Are for Nothing,” in the Work?

R. I am willing to hear more questions about the article we just read and let's maybe get a few more answers.

1. S. (01:46) What does it mean to worry that the reward will be for the Creator all the time?

R. To be concerned for the Creator's reward means doing everything for His sake.

S. But how can we acquire such an intention we need a connection with Him?

R. As much as you understand do everything for his desire, for his pleasure, to give Him contentment.

2. S. (02:26) Can you tell us how this article relates to the Ten?

R. Yes let's say that in the Ten someone needs help. So how should I take his deficiency and in which way to bring it to the Creator? What we have to receive from the Creator and give back to the friend or society. It obligates us. That obligates us.

S. The love and concern is it towards the friend or towards the Creator?

R. Love and concern towards the friend or the Creator? No, for now when we are talking about how to perform actions towards the friend then it is towards the friends. Even though we are turning to the Creator, we turn and raise the deficiency for the friend.

3. S. (04:00) If the Kli, the vessel consists of two parts how do you build equivalence form?

R. The vessel has to be one, the vessel has to be one.

S. When there are two parts in the vessel, what does it mean? Do we change the other part to be a giver?

R. You have to turn to Him with a whole vessel. Just as the Creator is one, you also have to be one.

S. How does the equivalence appear, who gives to whom?

R. The group resembles the Creator and equalizes to Him.

4. S (05:00) When we get an inspiration to perform an act of Mitzva, a deed to help a friend but immediately the ego sneaks in and wants to own it, but we catch it. At that moment we feel the pain that the ego wants to own it and at that moment we make a plea to the Creator, no, I want this deed to be for your sake in order to bestow. I do not want it to go to my ego. Does that make it so?

R. No, no before we connect between us, we cannot have a right plea towards the Creator.

5. S (06:05) It is written that the Creator gives the ability to bestow. What trigger activates this skill, this ability?

R. What trigger? What reason activates the desire to bestow from the vessel toward the Creator? It is when we gather and connect our small desires to bestow into one. Then we can activate that one desire with their bestowal toward the Creator.

6. S (06:57) Is the deficiency given to us by the Creator or is it something that we have to find or build?

R. The deficiency gives us the ability to turn to the Creator. We have to build it in a way that it will exactly answer our deficiencies then the Creator can fill our desires.

7. S (07:50) If I exert and come to the understanding that I am completely failing the Creator and I'm crying from the bottom of my heart that only He can help the friends, not me. Is that the whole point of coming to this prayer and having faith that he will give the filling?

R. Yes.

8. S (08:29) The Creator created our will to receive in a way that we always, that it always wants to get to him because He created it in such a way that we want to replace. We want to pay with a small pleasure and get a bigger pleasure until we can’t satisfy this condition then we return to spiritual pleasures. But there is this point that a person has to reach, that before he can’t work in such a way that he works on the intention on the vessels, so he turns to the Creator. How do we get to this point?

R. First, we need to connect to all the points, all the points that are in the vessel, and then keep going. Then you already know how you keep going.

S. So what determines here is the labor?

R. Yes.

9. S (09:38) How can we turn the will to receive into bestowal so that we can activate the vessel?

R. Only through the Creator, he created the will to receive, and he can change its definition that it will receive in order to bestow.

10. S (10:17) When you make an effort to connect in the group does it count as bestowal? Did you say that by this you please the Creator?

R. Yes.

S. To get to the quality of bestowal we have to learn to bestow in the corporeal world, and you need to check yourself and see what you're getting in return from the Creator, and gradually you educate yourself into the quality of bestowal?

R. No, that would be reception in order to receive from the Creator.

11. S (11:23) Where is the benefit in bestowal upon the Creator? We feel our child, our friend but the Creator, where is the pain?

R. You have no pain because you do not have the Creator in you.

S. So how can I feel the pain?

R. How to feel, work as it is written and not the way you want it.

12. S (11:57) After we perform the restriction, the screen, and the reflected light. Why is it not good to feel that the father enjoys?

R. Why it's not good to feel?

S. That our father is enjoying?

R. Why not? We are ready to feel the Creator enjoying our actions. We should feel it and bless Him for it. And bless ourselves for being rewarded for bringing him joy, yes.

S. It is just that I heard that you explained that we have to put a concealment on it, hence the question.

R. No, not on that. On my actions.

13. S (13:24) After the Congress we talked about gratitude that in principle the Creator does not need gratitude, we need to express it. How do we bestow upon the Creator if he has everything? Bestowing on a person is clear, but how do we give to the Creator, which is a system that is satisfied?

R. You bestow all of your desires, thoughts, aspirations, yearnings, dreams, everything you have in you. You’re willing to give Him everything. He feels it and enjoys you. Enjoys it.

14. S. (14:37) At the end of the article Rabash writes that the deficiency needs to be made is for contentment to the Creator. How do we connect the corporeal deficiency that we get in the Ten to the deficiency that Rabash writes about that we have to make?

R. Repeat, yes.

S. He writes in the end your work is to have a deficiency to bring contentment to the Creator. But now the Ten is going through a corporeal deficiency. How do you connect that deficiency to a corporeal deficiency? Completely like you said, we have to beg, we have to ask, how do you connect it to contentment to the Creator? Your heart is entirely in the corporeal deficiency not in the contentment to the Creator?

R. That is not important. When I do a corporeal deed or more, I want by this to cause contentment to the Creator.

S. What does it mean by a child getting better I want to bring contentment to the Creator?

R. Yes.

S. How come?

R. I'm asking from the Creator for help from my child and I want my child to feel that he is feeling better and getting healthy and waking up happily to a new day and by that the Creator gets contentment.

S. Is it contentment to the Creator from a healthy child or from my request?

R. The contentment to the Creator gives contentment to the Creator.

S. The healthy child?

R. Yes.

S. And my request is only a means for it?

R. Or feeling?

S. What feeling, my request?

R. Your request is the means.

S. So I'm like the adapter between the Creator and the corporeal deficiency in front of me? He wants to receive contentment from this cycle?

R. Yes.

S. One more question you answered it but it wasn't clear. In the article he talks about turning to the right name, the right Creator, what does it mean? The pleas are always from the heart, I don't sit and write a prayer and then I’ve sent the mail to the wrong address. What does it mean to turn to the right Creator, to the right name?

R. It means to turn to the right source of all of life, all the influences in the world and ask from Him some kind of bestow that is aimed and directed and small, so let's say for health.

S. That is clear but it's not like I say oh sorry I turn, and he gives me garments and I wanted healing, of course, I want healing. I don't understand this right-name thing, because naturally, you want healing if you have a sick child, I want healing.

R. The Creator is the healer of the ill, no more than that.

S. What is it? Is it something in the words?

R. Yes, every illness, every healing there's a special name of the Creator but you will not get out of this.

S. So we have to start aiming in a request to some special quality of the Creator?

R. No, he heals the sick.

S. No that's in this case but with whatever request you have to find the special quality of the Creator that is connected to that deficiency?

R. You can do that. Maybe with due time, you will be able to discern between the few different kinds.

15. S. (18:45) He writes now we will explain what we asked, what is reward and what is for free. It should have been the opposite meaning the effort of the Creator in the act and the effort in Torah and the Mitzvot and the yearning for effort to know the Creator should be with a reward, so what is the opposite here?

R. For us it's still not important, really it is not. That’s if we're opposite we're clear.

16. S. (19:33) I would like to ask about that thing that he needs to see, that He is great and ruling and that's the main thing and he developed it, and he says we have to find that He Is Good That Does Good. So, the rest of the fears like that his children will not die, or that he will get spirituality came to us before we had a Ten. Even this morning, I wasn't afraid that my child would be sick, so I came to the lesson and all kinds of things like that. I want to erase it but let's say in the Ten there's a friend whose wife doesn't let him come or his child is sick. How do we use this in order to shift from the corporeal fear to the higher fears in the Ten? To get to the fear that he is great and ruling that He Is Good That Does Good?

R. Read about it, talk about it, and awaken it.

S. But it's more of a problem for a person to ask for himself, so when we take a friend's deficiency and together as the Ten try to turn it into our deficiency, is that closer to that kind of fear?

R. Of course, if a friend has a problem, God forbid, and we hear about it and we incorporate with him and each one of us raises some small deficiency to the Creator for that. That's a very good action and it works.

S. I understand that fear is before love before we have the intention to bring him contentment and all that.

R. Correct, even though it's a different fear.

S. So is there something in the Ten that we can do? Some kind of leap in the work between us from which we can then relate afterward to the Creator by engaging in the friend's deficiencies?

R. We can be in fear for not bestowing correctly to our friends or not bestowing at all and that is why it seems to us that they aren't in the ascents as they deserve and it's all our fault. When we reach it, pray for it, and ask, we ask from our work that we'll get a result so he can discover that our deeds need to be for connection and prayer.
