Part 1: Baal HaSulam. Shamati, 199. To Every Man of Israel

Reader: Hello, we are reading from Shamati article 199. “To Every Man of Israel.” Study material will be found on the website and in the Arvut system. Rav, please.

M. Laitman: I will hear from you.

Reading Article: (00:27) Shamati, 199. To Every Man of Israel. Every man of Israel has an internal point in the heart, which is considered simple faith. This is an inheritance from our fathers, who stood on Mount Sinai. However, it is covered by many Klipot [shells], which are all kinds of dresses of Lo Lishma [not for Her sake], and the Klipot must be removed. Then his basis will be called “faith alone,” without any support and outside help.

Re-reading Article: (01:22) Shamati, 199. To Every Man o Israel.

M. Laitman: That a person begins to aim himself, to direct himself to the Creator, to the extent that he aims himself towards the Creator, is called Israel, from the words of the Lord, straight to the Creator. And this is how we divide the whole world, as those who are called straight to God, Israel, to whatever extent they have this inclination and the others.

Therefore, that is why he says, every man of Israel has an internal point in the heart. This depends on the person, whether he has it or not, whether he develops that point or not. This point can develop by an exertion by the person. He is drawn to the love of others, to the connection with the Creator, and to all those conditions that the Creator is putting in front of this group that we call Israel.

So, every man of Israel has an internal point in the heart, which is considered simple faith. This is an inheritance from our fathers. Where did this point come from? It came from generation to generation, generation to generation. But in essence, it is revealed out of the fact that once, in the past, there was such a connection between the souls to the Creator, which is called standing next to Mount Sinai.

However, it is covered by many covers, which are all kinds of dresses of Lo Lishma, not for her sake. And the cover must be removed, so that this point will be revealed. Then his basis will be called faith alone, without any support and outside help. Meaning, that a person who yearns nevertheless to the Creator, in connection to what we call the connection to the Creator, straight to the Creator, then a person comes to a state where he feels that he is depending on this force to connect him in some way to the Creator. And then he continues, and that takes a long time and a lot of effort. But eventually, he comes to a state where he has a connection with the Creator.

Student: That is all the pride?  Simple faith is connecting it. And what is covered by simple faith?

M. Laitman: He says that it is an inheritance from our father. It is considered simple faith, where we stood on Mount Sinai. However, it is covered by many Klipot, which are all kinds of dresses of Lo Lishma.

Student: So, there is a connection with the upper one, but it is covered?

R. Laitman: Everybody has a connection with the Creator. There is no person in the world, out of all the people in the world, that doesn't have a connection with the Creator. Now the question is, does he want to reveal this connection or not?

Student: Every man in the world has a connection or just the man of Israel?

M. Laitman: Each person in the world. And besides that, each person of Israel has also a connection with the Creator. And where does that connection come to the person of Israel? From that connection that used to be once, in the past, between the fathers who were on Mount Sinai. This is what it is called, that once in the past there was such a connection. That is what happens to those people who receive that kind of connection are called fathers. It was a generation that to them the Creator was revealed.

Student: But what is so unique in the connection that Israel has with the Creator and the world with the Creator?

M. Laitman: The world has a connection with the Creator that they don't know that they don't reveal, and they don't understand. And of course, they cannot use it. But to Israel, they have a connection that the person feels that he has a connection with the Creator. And he is trying to develop it and come closer to the Creator in the same connection.

Question (Tbilisi): (08:31) From the article, I can understand that the point in the heart exists within us. We need to thank the Creator and for the mercy that we stood on Mount Sinai. And to you, the Rav, that helped us to remove those Klipot. My question is, after the Congress, I am in constant gratitude towards the Creator, and I aim it to the Creator through the Ten. Personally, I am very happy and thankful for the Creator. The question is, is it my ego that I thank the Creator?

M. Laitman: Gratitude is not ego, it is allowed.

Student: So I have a situation where I thank Him and that's okay.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Turkiye 8): 09:44) How can we use the old Reshimo that we received from our fathers, that it will turn into a Kli?

M. Laitman: The Creator is called love. His quality is love. If we want to turn to Him, the most correct manner is if we connect to our friends, and all of us together turn to Him with love. And then, for certain, after a number of times that we will do in such a way, we will turn to Him in such a way, that we will feel that He is answering us. We will be more sensitive to His reaction. And we will feel how He turns to us in return.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (11:23) If there is faith, we don't need any base from the side. We always have the support from the group, from the Creator. So why?

M. Laitman: No, the group and the love, that's something that you need to always have. Because inside it, each one of us exists. We need to aspire to have a clear connection through the group, through the love, to the Creator.

Question (Women MAK) (12:20) What does it mean to connect with the near and to bring everyone to the degree of the close one?

M. Laitman: To connect to the closer one. It means to feel that without the close one, you cannot come closer to the Creator, to the truth, to the goal of the creation. That's called to connect to the close one.

Student: One more question. What is such a small sensitivity in our separation, but then on the other hand, we are longing for connection and then going to connection?

M. Laitman: Only the connection between you, to strengthen it, to pray, to ask that this connection will strengthen.

Student: Just to develop the sensitivity for the connection of the points?

M. Laitman: Think about them. That's it. Besides that, you don't need anything else.

Question (Women Heb2): (13:42) I wanted to ask, in regards to the point in the heart, a strategy for dissemination. I have had this feeling for a few years now, that we can, instead of to turn to a person, just to turn to his point in the heart, just to ignore him. And you make connections, direct connection with his point in the heart and not with him. Does this make sense? Is that right?

M. Laitman: It makes sense, it's correct, but it does not give you a path from connecting specifically with him. From heart to heart, from heart to ear, from mouth to mouth. There are all sorts of methods of connection, but we must renew them.

Question (Turkiye 2): (14:49) Shalom. Is Mount Sinai of our ancestors equal to Mount Sinai of today?

M. Laitman: Mount Sinai, there is some sort of a spiritual force that we need to come to it. And when we come to it, then we can already, from then onwards, reveal the Creator. It has nothing to do with what you have in the Sinai desert. That's not Mount Sinai.

Student: What is the spiritual force? What is the spiritual force on Mount Sinai?

M. Laitman: Mount Sinai is called a spiritual place; it doesn't relate to anything geographic. It's called a spiritual feeling where a person begins to connect with the Creator. This feeling inside the person, that he begins to be connected with the Creator, is called in the person Mount Sinai.

Question (English 1): (16:45) My question is, because I don't really know what connection is, I don't know what love is, I don't know what to be with the friends is, because it's not my mind I'm using, it's my heart. Because of the inability to articulate what these are, can I just want to do this and just ask for what these powers are of connection?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, yes, that alone is enough. If you, from the bottom of your heart, want to be in connection with the friends, in connection with the Creator, in revealing Mount Sinai, and all sorts of these names, which are all in spirituality, it's not on the face of this planet, then you will come to it.

Question (Kyiv) (17:55) This place of contact with the Creator, you say, is called Mount Sinai. That place where we have contact with the Creator, Mount Sinai, how do I climb this mountain? How do I climb to this connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: By you, each day, obligating yourself to think about this point of contact with the Creator, and how to come to it, and how to connect with it more. And in such a manner, you advance and advance and advance, from day to day.

Question (Women MAK 25): (18:54) Tell me please, what does it mean to remove the Klipot? How do we do that?

M. Laitman: Slowly we clean from within us all sorts of Klipot, shells, all these unnecessary thoughts, unnecessary actions, and we are becoming more directed towards the Creator. This is called that we are cleansing from the shells.

Student: The quality of the simple faith. Can we reach the Creator only with this quality?

M. Laitman: Yes, that's enough. Just to have that.

Question (Women MAK 56): (20:02) Does only the intention towards the Creator will correct our Klipot?

M. Laitman: Repeat, please.

Student: Does the intention only towards the Creator will clean the Klipot?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: A question for my friend. When we come into this intention in order to bestow to the Creator, do we automatically go with Him?

M. Laitman: No, we are just entering. We are meant to go through all sorts of actions in order to be cleansed from all these shells, Klipot, from all these intentions for ourselves, for our own benefit. And then we are freed from everything.

Student: Another question, please. How can we check the cleansing of the intention?

M. Laitman: The cleanliness of the intention we can check by our attitude, our relation towards the friends.

Question (Hadera 1): (21:20) The month of Sanai is the month of hatred. It turns out that the more hatred we have, the better contact we have with the Creator. What does it mean, hate?

M. Laitman: It is hatred from all the nations of the world towards Israel. It was hatred that came down from the nations of the world towards Israel. And the more we put ourselves against the hatred, by helping specifically to others, by that, we cover or banish the shells, and in such a way we will come to the correct result.

Student: It doesn't talk about the hatred within us?

M. Laitman: The hatred within us, of course. Otherwise, how do we ascend to Mount Sinai?

Student: Is that a purposeful stage where the hate will grow?

M. Laitman: Yes, it is a necessary process.

Question (Women Turkiye 1) (22:42) When my friends bestow on me, do they derive the power to bestow from our ancestors or from the Creator?

M. Laitman: Both from this one and the other.

Question (Woman Karmiel): (23:01) Lately you asked us to raise a prayer, to call to Lishma. Does Lishma, is that the point in the heart?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Brasil): (23:33) The correction is built with wires of our soul. Does in this process we clear the Klipot or raise them? Can you please tell us a little bit about that?

M. Laitman: We remove the Klipot, the shells. We remove them. And later on, we go above them, upwards.

Question (Women Piter): (24:10) Support and help from the side before it reaches faith. Is that faith for her sake?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Woman MAK 30): (24:30) If we've been rewarded to work in the Ten, does it mean that we're clothing in the Klipot, and some of it has already been cleaned, and now we need to keep on with the exertion? How can we keep on with these exertions? How to work together in the Ten? In order to be closer to one another, this Klipot, we can take them off and start to really feel each other.

M. Laitman: We need to talk about it with the friends in the group, and to be as much as possible closer to one another in the heart.

Question (Women Moscow 7): (25:39) How can we get along with spiritual knowledge? When I met you for the first time, you were talking to my point in the heart, but now that we're trying to disseminate spiritual knowledge, we are still trying to understand those Klipot. How to break through the Klipot? You're a spiritual person, we are not. There must be a connection between the Klipot.

M. Laitman: No, there's no need to be any connection. You need to be above them, and then you can help them ascend.

Student: I mean to somehow to find worries within us, doubts. There must be some sort of connection between us.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, is it better to take it into consideration?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (26:53) I'm working with what I see with the friends, and I clean their points in my perception. And I see the friends talking to the point that I can see the greatness of the Creator being revealed. And then I receive spiritual fear from the friends. How can I turn to love from that point?

M. Laitman: Aim or direct this fear and this love, or this love that you have with the friends or to the Creator and ask Him to bring you closer to Him.

Question (Woman MAK 36): (27:37) I have this question for a while. We become very sensitive. We feel much better and also very bad. Is that because our ego has grown?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: The more ego, the more sensitive we are.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Kyiv 7): (28:10) The point in the heart is in a simple faith. How can we get to this faith with no support?

M. Laitman: We will come to it, and we will reveal. We don't need to try and scrutinize it now. We need to keep on going forward, closer, and closer to the Creator.

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (28:38) Why is the place of the connection with the Creator the place of receiving the Torah called Mount Sinai?

M. Laitman: Since this mountain is discovered by the gradual revelation of the hatred in the person, and in such a way he goes above it constantly, and that creates a mountain, and at the end of it the Creator is there at the top of it.

Student: Is Mount Sinai the upper AHP?

M. Laitman: No, no, you are too wise. That's it. I am not talking to you anymore.

Question (Women Moscow 6): (29:27) It is said that the internal point in the heart, how does it help with the equivalence of hope to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Since they are drawing us after them in such a way, they help us.

Question (Woman MAK 41): (30:03) Can I tell the friends how I found and work with my Klipot?

M. Laitman: You can talk about it, yes. For now, you still can.

Student: The more we have an ego, the more sensitive we are. This is very complicated, or there is more joy or more love towards the Creator. Is it normal?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women ITA): (31:02) The connection with the Creator is faith. Does this faith integrate in many ways or only through the path of connection in the heart, the point in the heart?

M. Laitman: That is happening through the connection of the points in the heart.

Student: Can I reveal the Creator only through the connection in the heart?

M. Laitman: Yes, only through that.

Question (Women Heb 2): (31:46) Something that I really wanted to know. There is a project that we are preparing in front of the Beer Sheva Council. Is it okay to work on my own? It is a very specific field. Is it okay to work on my own?

M. Laitman: No, it is not a transgression. You can work alone, but nevertheless, make sure it doesn't cause a disconnection between you and the friends.

Student: No, it doesn't make a disconnection, but it is such a specific field that no one can be involved.

M. Laitman: That is okay, that is fine.

Question (Women Almaty): (32:34) The friends are gathered and asked when we reveal the evil, and we see the evil is in this state, how to use those moments in the Ten in order to progress?

M. Laitman: When the evil is revealed in each one of us in the group, then we need, all of us together, to try to perceive this evil as a common evil, and together to go above it. And in such a way we will shorten, we will hasten our advancement. Is it clear?

Student: Understood.

Question (Women Spain): (33:50) Why does the Creator put us in an extreme situation, if the intention and the scene are true?

M. Laitman: So we will know where we are at, and we would want to ascend even more.

Question (Women MAK 98): (32:30) To remove the Klipot, bit by bit, is that equivalent to climbing the stairs?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Lithuania): (34:43) The feeling of the pain and the rejection in spirituality, is that Klipot?

M. Laitman: No, it could be that it is not shells, Klipot. You need to check.

Question (Women German): (35:08) I have the feeling that there is a Ten within a Ten. I feel the closer one reveals the Creator with a very strong mutual desire. And the friends are not exerting much. I feel separation. How can I work in a Ten like that?

M. Laitman: I don't know. You need to try and tell about it to everyone, and to ask for your friends' advice. This will for sure bring good to everyone.

Question (MAK 24): (35:57) The more we work, there is a feeling that the Klipot are growing, and it feels like we need to get rid of them in order to progress. How do we know that we get rid of the Klipot? And not only going toward downwards.

M. Laitman: By understanding quicker what's in front of you, what's on your path, you have to work against it.

Student: Maybe we reveal more and more Klipot, and we just stand in the spot?

M. Laitman: There are such states as well, yes.

Question (Berlin): (36:45) What does it mean that we corrected the point in the heart in the Ten?

M. Laitman: If we are corrected, then we can in these points connect between us and adhere to the Creator. I don't think that this is already possible.

Question (Women MAK 113): (37:20) If the person overcomes their hate and climbs Mount Sinai, and he learns by that to love, and he even drags all the others with him, from hate to the feeling of love, it's really hard to learn to love, right?

M. Laitman: In principle, yes, it's a great effort.

Student: We are all behind you, dear teacher.

M. Laitman: Well, I hope I can draw you all.

Question (Women, MAK 30): (38:04) When we connect with faith above reason in a prayer, does the Klipot stay below at that time? Or are they coming up, rising with us?

M. Laitman: The shells do not ascend.

Student: So, the more we connect?

M. Laitman: In such a way, we go up higher above the shells?

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (38:39) How can we develop such a desire to the Creator that the deficiency to the Creator will be the biggest deficiency?

M. Laitman: Think about it, and it will happen. Think about it. And then your thoughts will turn into a prayer and will force the Creator to help you.

Question (Women MAK 95): (39:16) How can, in a practical way, can I help a friend to remove the shell, and how a friend can help me?

M. Laitman: By example. With an example.

Student: Is it right to wait for the help of the friend, or do I need to help her first?

M. Laitman: By you helping the friend, you are helping yourself.

Question (Tbilisi): (39:55) What is the difference between what we receive from our ancestors to Mount Sinai?

M. Laitman: No, it's a border, a limit. That is, how to say, it's for attainment. If a person wants to go even higher, and that's where the border is. And we will later on learn how to remove this border, limit.

Student: How does it look in the Ten? What is it? What kind of work is it?

M. Laitman: We will soon get into it, enter it. We'll deal with it.
