Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (Exile in Egypt #23)

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, we already understand that we are in a state of exile which is all in all called a state of Passover, passing over. Meaning, we go through it in order to enter holiness, meaning spirituality. From not knowing the Creator which is called the exile, before that there is a period that we don't even know what it is about. There is no need for spirituality, for bestowal, love, connection nothing. We just live a regular life where we want all kinds of additions, supplements. This is even before the entry into Egypt.

When we are in Egypt we begin to feel that we have a deficiency, a deficiency begins to develop in us, deficiency for connection, for bestowal. We begin to search how we can, nonetheless see the evil inclination in us, understand it, feel it, follow it, we are following it, and we're yearning to see, to find what are these discernments that we have to detect, as Egypt in order to run away from them, and instead of them come to holiness, to the land of Israel, to the intention to bestow. This is exactly the period when a person scrutinizes his will to receive, determines how evil it is for not letting him rise above this world, and be close to the Creator to the force of bestowal and love, and begins to feel that this attitude to life in the feeling of the Creator begins to become established in him more and more. These states come very slowly because a person scrutinizes them, it depends on us the speed, the pace, and we begin to attribute ourselves and to relate ourselves at times to the quality of reception at times to the quality of bestowal, at times to connection, at times to distance from others.

We have to go through all those things and feel them and be aware of them, be sensitive to them. Increase the importance of all our states that we are in. That we are among us either tighter or closer to redemption to the exodus from Egypt or far from each other, and in this feel ourselves that we should feel that we are still far from the exodus from Egypt, and we are still in exile or even before the exile when we don't feel as yet that we are suffering from being far from one another. We just live a regular life, meaning we're still not in Egypt. You might talk about it but we still don't feel it. What do we do? We do what we do, scrutinize ourselves once a day at least. Checking ourselves, are we moving closer or farther?

We look at all of reality that humanity is going through, with the wars, the hatred, the connection, the collisions between connection and rejection. In this way we are between the two, between hatred and love in the end, and we must choose where we are headed, and each time, meaning each and every day, we have to look at ourselves and see as it is written in that each day a person should see himself as if he came out of Egypt. Meaning, check ourselves each and every one to what extent, what is my relation to the Exodus from Egypt? Do I even understand what it is or not? Can I depict that state? See what I need in order to come to that state, and in this way to constantly try to scrutinize it, to play with these discernments. Think, feel, be inspired, impressed, moved by being in Egypt or not being in Egypt. Am I close to the exit?, far from the exit? The exodus from Egypt cannot be before we unite at least to some extent.

At least we are not so connected but we understand that exiting means we are achieving connection internally. In that we all have the same goal and we are living in this goal, we want to live in it, we want to approach it. In this way, we want this is what we want to have in every group and in all the groups together and throughout our organization and afterwards as we read Baal HaSulam, it will spread throughout the world, to all humanity. This is basically what we need to do, in other words, our whole work is to depict to ourselves states of Egypt, where we feel ourselves disconnected from each other, far from one another, even rejecting one another, if not externally then internally for sure, and we are moving closer to each other in a way that what is important to us is that even if we don't appreciate it, it is important for us to feel ourselves more and more in one desire, one intention, one disposition, and we are facing one Creator who unites us. He is one over all of us, there is none else besides Him and in this way if we want to connect to the Creator we first have to connect among ourselves. This is the only way in to the extent that we are connected among us, to that extent, we will be able to connect to the singular unique root of ours. This is basically our work.

There are many scrutinies about it, until we complete them, we won't be able to exit. So, let's try to scrutinize them as quickly as possible and finish them as quickly by all of us connecting among us and in the Creator as much as we can, and each one should help in this everyone else and we're all dependent on each other and to the extent that we connect internally, we will bring ourselves closer to the redemption. Redemption is only one thing, there is exile and the word Geulah, redemption is when you add to the word Galut, exile the Aleph of Geulah. Aleph, the letter Aleph is the Alufo, the Champion of the world, the Creator.

In other words if we add only one thing the Creator to the connection between an, exile is when we feel the disconnection between us, and we feel the word Geulah, redemption when the Creator comes and fills. He fills the deficient empty places and then we feel Him, discover Him, and in feeling Him, we attain the upper world, spirituality. This is called the exiting from not revealing the Creator to revealing the Creator, from disconnection between us to connection between us. The connection between us being the vessel in what the vessel reveals its filling is the Creator, the light. This is what we hope is happening with us but every day we have to be as many times as possible returning into establishing our desirable state and our existing state, and in between those states we should constantly check ourselves and bring these states closer, these states between us, bring them closer.

2. S. (11:50) You said the connection between us is the vessel and the light is the filling of the Creator. How to begin to distinguish between them, the connection between us?

R. To the extent that you're missing the Kli. The vessel is the connection between us, if we don't have a vessel, the Creator cannot be revealed. To the extent that we connect among us, by this we build an infrastructure for the revelation of the Creator and it has to be as clear as possible, in both mind and heart. It needs to be revealed both intellectually and emotionally and we have to repeat these actions all the time. I have to put myself in states of redemption when I connect to the friends, as a result the place between us becomes corrected with our mutual disposition towards each other and there we should reveal the Creator.

3. S. (13:13) Despite one's strength, there are moments where a person feels himself opposite the Creator, it turns out that you're getting thrown out and you start from the beginning?

R. It's okay, even if you're far as long as we're in contact through some activities, from afar that's not a problem. On the contrary, the fact that the Creator tells a person that he is far, when a person feels that he is far, of course it comes from the Creator, by this he actually wants to bring us closer. Meaning, that a person begins with all his might to try to come closer. In other words, the Creator actually does these things to people he wants to bring closer. He gives them a feeling that they are far, that they are not successful, etc. It's good, It's good, by bringing the distant ones closer, precisely by this we correct the vessel.

4. S. (14:50) You said that we are not yet in Egypt but where we are, that's where we are and we have to do something so the question is: What is the difference between the place we are now and the work we are doing now and Egypt, the place where we need to be?

R. It doesn't matter what state I am in, I have to see myself, how do I come to a state where I yearn for connection between us and to the Creator and if I have this propensity, this disposition it's good, if I suffer from not being in this this position, it's not so good. According to this, we check where we are. The real Egypt is, you could say, when we feel ourselves as unable to connect among on us, and accordingly we really want to very much, we want to but we can't, and we suffer, and as much as we check the form of connection and separation between us. I want it to happen. Why do I want it to happen?

In order to discover the Creator, why do I need to discover the Creator?, because it will be good for me or in order to bring contentment to Him, and to me perhaps make no changes, it makes no difference to me whatsoever. If I begin to feel that what's important to me is to connect to the friends In order to reveal the Creator, so it will be good for Him because I want to please Him, that He will be pleased and satisfied with our work, even if He doesn't see that it is from me so much, as long as He is happy. Like a mother who wants her children to be happy. She's not concerned with them seeing that it came from her, what's important is that they will be happy. So, the question is, so the more, the closer we come to this, it is more in order to bestow, etc etc. There are other discernments. We have to constantly think how we establish and create these states from between us, because specifically from between us, it is revealed, first there's exile and then the appearance of the Creator out of the exile which is already the redemption, the exodus from Egypt. The exodus from Egypt is the revelation of the Creator to us. Then we feel the spiritual world and ourselves and in such a way that we are in Him.

5. S. (18:37) What causes this force of Moshe to awaken in Israel even before its unification question?

R. Moses operates in concealment. We don't feel this force actually operating in us, or you might put it this way. Our whole disposition to advance to come out of Egypt, and to find ourselves, find that we have a disposition towards the Creator and maybe also a little bit towards each other, all of this is the disposition of Mose, all of this is Moses. Moses is a force that pulls us out of Egypt. Pharaoh's daughter who took him out of the Nile, Moses was found in the Nile right? He was in the Nile River. When he was pulled out of the Nile she called him Moses, Moshe (pulling) because she was pulling him out of the water. Moses is indeed a force that pulls the people of Israel out of Egypt. That force that awakens in us and leads us towards recognizing where we are, and what slavery to the will to receive egoistic will to receive we are and pulled us out of it this is Moses. That's it.

6. S. (21:12) Is the empty place between us a place for prayer?

R. Yes, the whole feeling between us the distance to sensation that we cannot be close to each other, these are places where our will to receive rejects us from each other. We have to fill up these places above our strength as much as we can connect to one another, and in this way prepare this place for the revelation of the Creator. As much as we prepare close relationships with one another in those places as much as we don't want to, but with mutual repulsion and above it with mutual closeness which we do by force. That extent we prepare a place for the revelation of the Creator here.

7. S. (22:31) If in Egypt we feel our inability to connect, how much more do we need to feel each other to connect so the Exodus will begin?

R. We have to understand that the fact that we don't feel one another, as close as this is called Egypt the exile. The exile from connection between us and from between us to the Creator. The  more we will perform actions to bring us closer, by this we prepare the infrastructure for the revelation of the Creator between us. In that same network that we put together in our relationships, where we help each other, become closer, with our inclination towards the Creator, by this we prepare a place for the revelation of the Creator. Who gradually becomes revealed between us. This is exactly our work in Egypt.

8. S. (24:11) Do we come to redemption straight from Egypt or are there additional stages?

R. No, for now this is called redemption when we come out from the governance of our ego. rise above it, and we can begin to work in order to bestow a little bit to some extent. Meaning to the extent. that we connect among us, we can rise above our will to receive and discover in the connection between us the quality of bestowal which is already called outside of Egypt.

S. That's the state of redemption immediately after the exodus?

R. Yes, of course it's like the exile in Egypt. We have many stages, many stages, 400 years. Meaning we have to check our entire will to receive on its 4 degrees, to see how much it is between us. This is how we come to redemption by rising above this will to receive and we rise above it in stages up to the complete redemption which is still ahead of us.

9. S. (25:30) Regarding bestowing contentment to the Creator, and doing good to him, I feel let's say, I want to help my friends reach spirituality. I want to help the world. It seems to me this way the world is suffering this addition to bestowing contentment to make him feel good. It remains technical. How can we strengthen this muscle so bestowing contentment will become something emotional, tangible and not technical?

R. This is because you still don't feel like the Creator is clothed in the whole world . It seems to you that he is present or not present in relationships between people between countries between nations and in general that he doesn't fill up everything. You have to try to discover that the Creator is in everything. You, through your relation to everything in the world, can discover a place for revealing him. That's our main engagement, our main work to prepare places for the revelation of the Creator.

Excerpt 23 (26:59) “What Are the Light Mitzvot that a Person Tramples with His Heels, in the Work?” Twice

10. R. (30:13) It says here that the Torah lets him feel how distant he is from the Creator. How does the Torah let us feel it?

R. The Torah is the general light that appears in us. It is not a book that is printed or some stories. It is a light that shines on us,on all of creation from the Creator. This is called the Torah. More precisely the Torah is the light that promotes a person towards the purpose of creation. We all have to come to inverting the will to receive that the Creator created in us into a desire to bestow. The whole process we go through, we go through it through this special force called Torah. That's it. What we need to understand and to see and to recognize is that the evil inclination that the Creator created, the will to receive. We can change it only through the power of the Creator which shines on us. This illumination is called the Torah. Every time it comes to us more and more and it depends on how much we connect to the source of the light. Accordingly the light influences us more and more and in this way we come closer to the qualities of bestowal and to that extent we become similar to the Creator. We begin to understand more, feel more, what his operations are on us. How much we can sympathize with him, etc.

S. Now in the lesson how can we ask in such a way that he will give us the vessel and the deficiency for the Creator that we are lacking?

R. We should simply ask directly, ask. Each one should ask from his heart. We don't need anything else only to have the right request. To ask as much as possible together and as much as possible the real necessary thing that we want to be together so that we will have enough strength, enough demand enough request, enough deficiency as it's called, in which we will be able to receive the light, the upper light that the Creator wants to give. The upper light is in complete rest. We are seemingly in an ocean but we don't have the vessel, the cup, to get some water from it from the ocean. That's the problem, we are in the upper light, it's present we just don't have a vessel that's what's missing. Let's try to understand what the vessel is, each of us is a tiny pixel, a tiny black dot. If we connect together at least as many as we have in the group by this we build the vessel. That's what we need. To connect together, otherwise you can't do anything . Connect in order to receive the upper light and its essence. Its inner quality is the Creator Bo-re (come and see). You kind of grab it, grip it and begin to feel and understand and study who is my Creator.

S. We are incorporated into one another in the lesson. We feel the friends everyone is together seemingly connected but I nevertheless don't feel such a deficiency for the Creator in that connection I feel to friends but a deficiency that we are talking about I can't feel it. How to feel it?

R. It doesn't come all at once. You see that inhumanity has no desire for it whatsoever. It is revealed gradually. We have to demand and demand more and more. The revelation of the Creator to us so it will be revealed because we want to know and to understand and to feel, to whom we are turning, how to turn, why connect? I need it. It comes gradually and it will fall into place. Even though we don't feel it the upper one understands these things just like a mother understands her baby you can't tell her anything. Every peep from the baby she feels. That's it.

11. S. (35:58) Which inner state is my image?

R. The River Nile is the origin, the source of the desire from which life comes. The elevated is called Egypt, Mitz Rah (the evil juice) essence. This is how life begins and from that everything else emerges. Everything begins from the evil inclination. Therefore, he who is greater than his friend, his evil inclination is greater and we should not destroy the will to receive but only correct in the way we use it.

12. S. (37:00) The story of Pharaoh and everything, is also a story about growth. It's a long growth until we come to the recognition that we are dependent?

R. Of course, read the story in the Bible and you will see that it's not happening out of nowhere, it is a long story covering 400 years of Israel's life in Egypt. How they get in there, how they settle there. How they live there. The story is of the Israelites, between them and with Pharaoh until we get to the plagues. We come out of Egypt. It's a long business, it's our entire life in this world. How much each one lives before he comes out to spirituality. Through his different incarnations, all the incidents that happened to him. This is all Egypt until we feel that we go from the good Egypt to the evil Egypt.

13. S. (38:31) We have a very big deficiency for the Creator because of our inability to connect. Is this a prayer or part of the prayer?

R. If you wish to connect and you can't this is exactly the good kind of deficiency that you uncover, that you want it but you can't. You need to raise this deficiency to the Creator. Look how much we want to connect and we cannot, you must help us.

14. S. (39:22) There is a great feeling of repulsion from this whole process. There is a feeling of repulsion from connection and there's also the feeling of connection but from this general process there's a feeling of repulsion as if I don't want to get into this whole thing, what do you do in that state?

R. First of all, perfect. What you feel is, what you feel and of course it comes from the Creator. Now, we have to check and see ,what do we do about it? Because whatever we feel comes from above that's a fact. What I'm doing now with what I'm feeling. I'm feeling rejection, why? Is it good? Is it bad? What to do with it? Connection with the goal. Check. all those things. Check all those ingredients and see. All of it comes so you would stabilize the situation, the state and see that it's impossible to do it without it. It comes to you, the reason it comes to you is because of the influence of the upper light on you ,so scrutinize it and keep going.

S. I heard you say in the beginning in the lesson the difference between is Aleph ,the champion of the world so how do we add the Creator in this whole process? Should there be a feeling of the Creator in this process?

R. You need to speak among you and understand from the text that you are dealing with the Creator. Between the Creator and every friend, you have the rest of the friends and according to the distance between you and the rest of the friends. According to how distant the friends are, you can feel the Creator through them. Meaning what conceals the Creator from each one are the friends. Since he doesn't feel them as close. According to how close he can feel them, and through them, the qualities that he discovers, he will discover the Creator. It turns out that I'm lacking vessels, discernments, in order to reveal the Creator. These discernments I get from the connection with the friends.

S. There's a feeling that it is not necessarily from connection, but between the two forces, that's the force that is revealed that this is what connects.

R. This is not important. You can feel all kinds of things but the bottom line is as much as you want to connect with the friends, to feel the Creator through them but not by yourself. This is the correct way to aim yourself to his revelation.

15. S. (43:01) You said all the light reflected from the Creator to the creature is called the Torah so what is light? Some kind of frequency?

R. It's a desire and a thought that operates on a person and aims him at the purpose of life. This is the meaning of Torah, what we call Torah.

16. S. (43:43) We often read words like Torah, commandments, I have a feeling that the articles of Baal HaSulam and Rabash. Would it be correct to relate to the articles of Rabash and Baal HaSulam as this is the Torah and the commandments for us?

R. Of course, anything that Kabbalists tell us about how to reach revelation of the Creator adhesion with the Creator, these are called Torah. All the actions that we need to do in order to reveal the Creator in the actions between us, which are revealed, are called Mitzvot, commandments. Meaning all of those actions of connection that we need to do, they are called Commandments. Everything that is revealed whether we understand or we don't understand, whether we reveal it or not, it is something that is influencing us as a result of our efforts to connect all of this is called Torah.

17. S. (45:05) It is written in different places that we have to ask for the revelation of the Creator elsewhere it's written that we don't have to ask for a revelation. If He wants to be concealedI agree to that as well. We have to ask for the strength to keep working. How do you reconcile it?

R. The question is why are you asking this, what for? If you're asking the Creator to open up so that you'll feel good, you'll satisfy your desire to know and understand, with that you will have no success. Only on the condition that you want to discover the qualities of bestowal. On that condition you'll be able to reach your goal and you'll be very successful.

S. It seems like the more correct prayer is that if He wants to be concealed I agree. As long as I have the strength to be with the friends. It seems more correct than asking for his revelation because if I am asking for the revelation seems egoistic?

R. Correct.

S. On the other hand, Kabbalists say and you often tell us to ask for a revelation so it's not clear?

R. What is the meaning of the Creator being revealed? He is the force of bestowal. What can be revealed? What can He reveal to us? Only the force of bestowal that would correct our vessels, so that in them the force of bestowal would appear. That's what we need.

Excerpt 24 (47:39) What Is the ‘Bread of an Evil-Eyed Man’ in the Work?”

18. R. (48:43) You can feel that the will to receive is dominating and they call that exil.

Reader continues: “this is why the Zohar says that if…”

19. S. (50:02) I'm still stuck on the narrow, in the straight. I feel there's an important discernment here in our ten and I don't know how to respond to the narrow.

R. I can't understand your question ask concretely about what we are reading now, so it’ll be clear to everyone what you are asking and what you're trying to scrutinize

S. What does it mean in practice to be with a narrow eye with envy?

R. In the ten?, when I look egotistically at my friends.

20. S (50:46) To what extent can reading the story of Egypt give us an impression about the exile where in?

R. The story is very interesting. It's very important, it's full of detail that we don't need for the time being because we can't see them correctly, we can't uncover each and every place we're talkin about. In our mind and in our feelings, so for the time being this story is quite removed from us. We cannot clothe it or glue it on us, in the relationship between us, the states that each one are going in and all of us together in the ten. So, we need to gradually here and there, we get to know it until we see how it is clothed on us.

S. Can reading itself give us the power. Will it help us?

R. It's recommended to read it as long as it does not confuse us. Therefore, it's best to get to know those things first through the articles of Rabash or the excerpts that we are reading. But ultimately of course we will discover the entire story of The Exodus from Egypt. The entire story of Egypt and all of its details on ourselves. It has to kind of pass over us in this way because this is the story of our state before the redemption, before we come to rise above our egoistic desire and that's how we discover a new world.

21. S. (52:51) What is, “I have created the evil inclination”?

R. Before everything, the Creator said that he created the evil inclination, evil doesn't mean anything else because He is the good inclination, and therefore he created something that against Him that in order to be able to give the created beings, who are opposite to Him, and to get to know Him from the opposite side. Therefore, anything that is opposite the Creator is called the evil inclination.

22. S. (53:34) What is the bread the Egyptians that we are forbidden to eat and what are the vessels of the Egyptians that we need?

R. We should not enjoy in order to receive. That's it.

23. S. (54:06) How can we acquire the necessary Kelim if we are not supposed to taste the bread of the Egyptians?

R. You are correct, you are right but we get this awareness and recognition of our lack of vessels of bestowal because we can't succeed with our vessels of reception. This is a good question. How can we even want to come out of Egypt if we have never tasted what is outside of Egypt? However, we don't stay in the same vessels as we had in Egypt. If we stayed in the same will to receive and now in the will to receive we wish to taste something that is outside of Egypt then you're right. How can I want to know and understand what's outside of Egypt if I have never been there, I never tasted what's happening there, but we don't stay in the same vessels. Those vessels we are within Egypt, we tasted bitter taste and from this bitter taste we wish to rise above it, and not to rise above because the taste is bitter, but because we don't want to use those vessels specifically. Therefore, we wish to come out of those vessels and that's called the exodus from Egypt.

It's not that we yearn for, to receive, in order to receive what we have outside of Egypt, this nice portion that's waiting outside of Egypt, no, we wish to get rid of the vessel we have in Egypt and this is the meaning of the exodus from Egypt. If I would cross over with the same vessels that I had in Egypt to the outside of Egypt, it will not be called redemption. Those would be the same vessels in which I could take something new, yes, but in the same vessels in order to receive. Here, there's something new, here I am changing my nature from an order to receive to in order to bestow. That's why even though I don't know what it is in order to bestow, it is enough for me to feel Egypt in order to receive as bad that I'm trying to escape from it and then I run away from in order to receive and then I come and not right away after a few stages, I come to in order to bestow. Good question, beautiful question.

Reading Excerpt 25 (57:43)

24. R. (59:20) Yes, meaning we can only appreciate a state from the other states, the ones that preceded or came after the state we're discussing. We are in exile and gradually from the exile we attain a state of in order to receive, how much we suffer from not wanting to be in order to receive because we receive a small elimination one, two, three and each time we see how our method of reception is flawed. We don't want to stay in it, and then we begin to attain it as the advantage of light from darkness. We're not getting something from the light but rather from being in the darkness, feeling the darkness more and more, all those things are not that bad but we attain it as lacking. I cannot be in it anymore then we come out of the exile, we determine it is a state of exile and we come out into the redemption.

Excerpt #25 (01:01:20)

25. R. (01:03:08) Meaning, we have no choice, we have to feel each and every state that we are during the descends, the falls we just call the exile until we discerned that all those descends are result of our lack of connection and we have no Creator between us as the connecting force is missing and after we determined that this is so. We're worthy of ascending from the state's coming out of Egypt.

26. S. (01:03:59) What is the difference between suffering in the will to receive from suffering from having no vessels of bestowal?

R. Suffering. You cannot measure but the kind of suffering, the type of suffering. If I suffer I have other tournaments of love. There is a suffering of hate, so the torments of love although they are suffering but they are sweet and the suffering of hate those are hopeless.

27. S. (01:04:54) How can we rise above envy in ourselves and in others. What is the best activity for the time?

R. Connect without looking at anything that is disturbing us.

28. S. (01:05:13) What helps us understand that we need salvation from the will to receive in us?

R. More more to read about it and talk about it. I cannot I cannot say what disturbs us. It is the ego that is between us. We need to clean ourselves, from places of the ego and that place in that brings the Upper Light, the Creator. When He will shine on us, there will be no evil inclination between us because evil inclination is opposite of the Creator.

29. S. (01:05:53) It is written in Excerpt 23 that there is no reality. It is impossible that he will be able to achieve it without the help of the Creator. How do we not come out of this feeling after the lesson?

R. It is all up to you. It all depends on the friends. The way friends hold on to this feeling that they are actually in connection between them. They work to grow the connection until they reveal the Creator. The Creator is concealed only because we lose it, we lose Him in the lack of connection between us, we need to reveal Him there. At first, it was one Kli, the Creator broke that Kli, revealed the egoistic desire between parts of the Kli which was previously unfelt and now this egoistic desire is concealing the Creator.

It does not let Him reveal Himself but by working on the will to receive that separates us,by that we cleanse that place from the will to receive we corrected it becomes the will to bestow then we discover the Creator 620 times more than how he was revealed in the vessel of Adam HaRishon. In the vessel of Adam HaRishon, it was only a small illumination but it was sufficient in order to connect all the parts, all the desires to receive together. This is Adam HaRishon before the sin, after the sin, and after correcting the egoistic desire between us, so it becomes connection from hate to love then we discovered this desire called Creator, the desire to bestow that we place between us the desire for connection, 620 and 20 times more. When is this revealed? It is revealed during the shattering and we corrected it during our work.

30. S. (01:08:58) In the ten the evil is constantly revealed and we try to rise above it, it seems endless. How do we come to such a level that it becomes the exodus from Egypt?

R. We need to keep going, we need to keep going in this work until we discover that what separates us in truth it's called the evil inclination, the pharaoh. He does not let us connect and we must have run away from him, meaning rise above the will to receive, this is called the exit exodus from Egypt, but we disconnect from our will to receive. This is called exodus, the exit and after we come out from all the evil that we had in the will to receive that was separating us, we turn it into good by constructing the connection between us above the pharaoh. Now coarseness we now turn it into refinement.

31. S. (01:10:39) What is real pleasure from nearing the Creator? How do we learn to appreciate it?

R. The will to receive, it does not disappear, it does not get refined but rather above it, we use the intention in order to bestow and this is the meaning of “the darkness will shine as light”.

32. S. (01:11:10) We want to switch on the light and discover the Creator in the connection between us but we cannot keep the prayer for the friends for a long time. What do we do?

R. You have to exert, try harder. There is nothing else you can do, you need to exert and you’ll see it's possible. You have a very powerful force, a sizeable amount and you need to reach connection and grow it more and more above all, above all the disturbances, all the disconnection. There is nothing more than the general will to receive, the corporeal will to receive, the very primitive will to receive, and you should not agree with it, rather you should rise above it forcefully, and you're capable of doing it. In the connection between you will reveal the Creator, you specifically.

Excerpt 26 twice (01:12:30)

33. S. (01:14:40) Is a state of ascent actually a state of connection with the Creator?

R. Certainly.

Excerpt 27 (01:15:10)

34. R. (01:16:53) Okay this is clear to us that it cannot be redemption without exile.

Excerpt 28 (01:16:50)

35. S. (01:17:55) Item 26, it says that if one comes to a descent then the spirituality is also in a descent for him. What does it mean that spirituality is in descent?

R. What is considered an ascent or a descent? We need to measure it according to spirituality. An ascend is that spirituality, bestowal, love, and connection is important to me, and a descent is called that bestowal, connection, and coming closer is not important. Between those two values I am, and that is how I measure my life only, according to that.

36. S. (01:18:50) It says that one is given a descent from above so that he will feel that he's in exile so he will ask for mercy to be delivered from exile and this is called redemption. So as I understand it the very request for mercy to come out of the exile, is that already the redemption.?

R. No, let’s not get into philosophizing. He wants to be in order to bestow, he wants to reach the love of the Creator, not egotistical but a little more than that and a little higher than that, it is called that he's asking for redemption, that is it. Redemption is called that he wants the Creator, the force of the bestowal to dwell between him and all the parts of the creation.

S. So is their desire sufficient?

R. Yes.

Reading Except 29 (01:19:55)

37. R. (01:20:55) Meaning there could be exile and redemption in every place, every time, every state. Meaning simply that if I am in a desire that I cannot implement it is called exile. When I implement my desire that is called redemption relative to the purpose of our lives, spirituality. Then the desire that I want to emerge from in order to receive is called exile, where I am in it and cannot exit. Therefore, we need to measure ourselves whether we are in exile, whether I'm in the desire to receive truly and whether the fact I'm in it I feel that it is choking me, that I cannot stand it. If so you could say that accordingly I am in exile. When I discover that all my desires are all egotistical and I have nothing to do in them but rather just rise above them, that is called I'm ready for redemption. At which point I cry out for the Creator to take me out because I see that I'm not capable. I have tried several times and I could not. Then I cry out to the Creator to help me exit. This is how we exit the exile to redemption. By what? By the revelation of the Creator coming from above. The difference between exile and redemption in Hebrew … is the letter Aleph, this is what differentiates these two, which is called the Creator, the hero of the world, the triumph of the world

That is how we emerge from the state of exile, meaning the sensation of the will to receive in all my thoughts and desires are only in order to receive and redemption for me is that I want to be in order to bestow. Now the question is; whether we're in this or not? Somewhat we're in, and somewhat we're not but because we connect between us it could be that all our inclinations towards connection which go through one another are sufficient; those inclinations are enough for us to demand from the Creator to take us out of exile. Just like I do not want to ask or I can’t or I am not capable, so the second will ask, and the third will ask, and that's called one will help friend, and then it turns out that all together we will ask for something whole, in the ten parts of the Partzuf of our Partzuf which is shattered and for it to take on the correction from above and will no longer will be shattered and the Creator will be revealed in it, this is called redemption, the Exodus from Egypt.

38. S. (01:24:20) In excerpt 27 it says, “whereas had they not felt that they were placed under the rule of idol worshippers it could not be said that  the Creator had brought them closer.” How can we feel that we are in idol worship if we do not know what bestowal is yet?

R. Think about it, these are all your scrutiny now. Don't think that someone can tell you or explain this to you. You think about your work, about your actions, about your states in your life, to the extent in which you are managed by your ego. As much as you only think about yourself and not about the ten. Please this is all before you, and from that you will see how close you are or how you're coming closer to redemption or not. In everything, you can nevertheless ask for the Creator to take you out,  and when we go out of Egypt everyone goes out, all the desires, even those that seemingly don't want to come to redemption.

39. S. (01:25:40) The process of spiritual advancement, the entrance to Egypt being in Egypt, and coming out of Egypt. Do we have to get to know what it means necessary not to be denounced, or praised?

R. I don't understand what he wants to ask, check and ask in a more practical way.

40. S. (01:26:26) What does generation mean in the excerpt number 28?

R. States that are in a person.

41. S. (01:26:49) I have been sitting here from 2:30 with the friends and I want to connect, to be incorporated in them in the lesson, to listen to you and the friends but the hearts and thoughts are thrown in all kinds of different directions, is this kind of exile, the beginning of an exile? What is this?

R. We are learning now what the definition of exile is and what the definition of redemption is, and by what we exit the exile to redemption. It could be that a person is in a state that is certain and it's not exile in his life but a person himself defines what exile is or not. If I am in my life and all the good that happens to me, it is not an exile. It could be that I'm in prison but I do not feel it is prison, and then you cannot say that I am in prison. It could be that I'm a king's palace somewhere and I am the king himself, in this palace, but I suddenly feel that I cannot leave the palace, I need to report to everyone, I need to take my whole military to protect me, and therefore that I am in my palace even, and I think that I am in prison. Do you understand? It is all relative to a person who defines this besides this.

S. But now in the lesson, I am here and I want to be here. I want to be incorporated in the friends and I cannot, so?

R. Because you did not work hard enough on this. You didn't work enough to come closer to the friends and together with them to feel that you are already on the openings of redemption.

S. So what else should I do? What can I add?

R. Everything that could connect you to the friends, anything that can connect you to the friends you have to do in order to feel that you are either in exile or on stages of redemption. That is our obligation, this is what we have to do. There is nothing else for us in life, but just to scrutinize this, and from the extent with which we scrutinize this, the whole and rest of our life depends upon this. Even our corporeal and including our corporeal life. Clear?

42. S. (01:29:50) I heard now that you said that we can complete for each other even the necessity for redemption and feeling of exile?

R. We can complete everything for one another, yes. Just like in our life there are small ones, babies, there are children, adults, elders, there are all kinds of people and we need them all. You see they all live and exist in one world and support one another, and altogether the world is for everyone. As we are incorporated together it is called that we come to one Partzuf. So that is how we also need to understand that all the qualities that are in our friends are all that we need to bring ourselves to a connection between us and to redemption.

43. S. (01:30:56) What is the discernment of a slave who loves his master, as the article mentions?

R. That is not yet for us.

S. What is the work of, “you should remember that you were a slave in Egypt”, for the time of preparation?

R. During the preparation you don't have that, you are still a servant so you have nothing to remember. This talk already, about the stages that you are asking, that we already awaken the desire to receive and work with it in order to bestow and receive in order to bestow. Those stages are very advanced.
