Rabash. Article 14, 1985. I Am the First and I Am the Last

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, let's read the article, please go ahead.

Reading Shamati Article  (00:32 ) “The verse says, “I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.”

2. S. (17:16) How do we sanctify all our desires with the intention to bestow?

R. If we know that everything that there is in thoughts, desires, and qualities everything that we have at that all comes from the Creator to us who created us from zero, without any qualities or thoughts that were there before but rather it all comes from him. Then we already should understand that everything that was created for us was created only for the purpose of the final goal. The Creator looks at the end of the final act, that this is how he wants to see as adhered between us adhered to Him being on His degree, understanding and feeling Him and acting in His place. Accordingly, He created us, so we actually have nothing to read and actually have nothing that was created that exists that operates not for the purpose of correction. Even it if it seems to us opposite manner that this is something that is the most harmful all of it at the end should the fit in with all of the qualities that seemed to us as good and then in between the good and bad there we have to find the right actions that right states and relations between everything that comes to us from the Creator, as it is written the maker of light and the Creator of darkness.

3. S. (19:36) In the beginning he is writing that in order to reach Lishma one needs to find a  deficiency then he can't find satisfaction in Lo Lishma, so the question is  how can we reach such a deficiency to not  settle for Lo Lishma when we support each other in the Ten and increase the friends and give strength to each other to work in lo Lishma so where do we get this deficiency that I am not satisfied in this work.

R. The fact that we give support to our friends even in  Lo Lishma is true and it has to be this way it is truthful, and it has to be this way and we have to continue with this. However, the question whether we  can spoil for ourselves by this, the approach to Lishma. We have to do whatever is given to us as in Lo Lishma and see then according to the light that shines on us already from the degree of Lishma, how much we are in order to receive. As much as I, whatever I am, I am doing it only for myself only because it is good for Lo Lishma, Lishma means that I do not have no contact with this, I have no interest but I'm aiming everything to the Creator and even if I do not yet filled the Creator but however somehow ascribe my action, my deeds, my thoughts to Him. This is how we should begin to divide ourselves wherever I am thinking about myself and usually it happens to me when I forget all together about my work, about myself, about the goal about that friends about the actions and I simply flow along with the ego but then I remember that there is that means that I am reminded from above that I need to can perform actions and focus my thinking to in order to give to the Creator then here I can already gather myself and direct myself to that I want that the result of what I now feel in my brain and heart that all of this would be only for the benefit of the Creator that it would be in his direction and then he would feel it and this is how I want to fulfill him and they're in my eyes this is already something that belongs to Lishma and bit-by-bit slowly slowly through such repetitions coming back to this work. We advanced to Lishma. We get rejections that we cannot do it. we do not want to do it and again we come back to it and again we try, and this is how it happens.

4. S. (23:58) Can you explain the line that the world was created in ten utterances?

R. Even though we do not yet know in detail precisely how to divide the Creator's relation to the created beings and  the attitude of the created being to the Creator, However, we need to understand that in a single action it is possible to build a relation between the receiver and the  giver but rather there has to be a calculation there  and the combinations of these calculations of the qualities so that they would exist in the created beings specifically the combination of these qualities from below upward by them he reaches as state where his will to receive he performs with it acts of bestowal. He is capable of acts of bestowal but not because he is capable of doing it directly and simply out of himself but rather through the combination of all of the qualities that the Creator gave him from above down so that the created being turns them from below up because he wants to use them for the benefit of the creator, and then he learns about each quality and mostly in the connection between all of these qualities in Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, how he is using them in order to return to the Creator the same work as the Creator is showing him, From  where do we have these qualities, these Sefirot  that we talk about in the created being out of the fact that the Created being is the opposite to the Creator. This is why in the created being there is a division of the Creator's attitude of good and doing good into the will to receive in order receive so the will to receive in order to receive we'll see and understand that the Creator is relating to eat in at good way with love with and nice education in order to transform it from in order to receive in order to bestow. That he would think that even just for a moment I'm in search of the world so he will think that the intention of in order to bestow from the side of the created being can be as a result of the combination of all of the qualities that the Creator made within him. What does he reach that the earlier in receiving from the Creator earlier he felt that everything is depicted in him in the created being and then from that he had pleasure and delight and now he connects back to the Creator through all of these qualities that he has from below up and he begins to see that in indeed in truth it becomes depicted in him it is born in him with a  force and an inclination to bestow to the Creator, That in him he wants to see the result of his actions, of his relations. This is done specifically by us having  to see the results in the Creator and this is done specifically by us having 10 Sefirot that we call of stopping that between the giver and the receiver there are all of these processes these moves so that each one can invert itself gradually and adapt itself gradually to the other side The host to the guest and guest to the host.

5. S. (29:30) There is the expression as He is merciful so are you, what is this about? That all your actions will only be for the sake of the Creator? How to connect the honor of the Creator to mercifulness? What is the mercy about towards the friends, towards the world and can it be towards the Creator?

R. Mercy towards the Creator meaning we want to bestow to the Creator and give Him a feeling that He for us is the most respected force in reality and actually the only reality in which we work and should be connected to, etcetera. This is what we have to give back to the Creator. The Creator operates towards our will to receive and in the will to receive we only feel pleasures. We have to rise from the level of the pleasures that we feel up to who is bringing as the pleasures. What does He bring the pleasures for? What do we feel in the pleasures themselves and how according to what we can depict who He is, who is sending us the pleasures? And how do we want to transform what we are getting, the pleasures to His appreciation? This is what we give back to Him. You cannot give the host anything besides appreciation. If you are righteous what can you give Him? Meaning that He doesn’t need anything, He doesn’t have a lack only give Him your appreciation. Appreciate whom He is: the giver, the lover, the bestower, the one who cares. And the this is what we want to give back to the host, that's it.

6. S. (32:17) The intention in order to bestow does it manifest only in Lishma or also in Lo Lishma

R. The intention of Lishma, it awakens in us when we begin to feel that everything that we feel, we feel it in order to receive. And then opposite that there starts to be within us the recognition that maybe we can also do this in order to bestow outside of us. That is first we attain that I am entirely and completely in order to receive, and I have nothing besides in order to receive. Later on there is the thought, how is it in order to bestow? Am I capable of it or not? How do I do it? We will talk more according to your questions.

7. S. (33:46) There are two categories here. The first is the path of Torah and the second is the path of suffering. If the friend is already on the path of Torah and he’s included in the ten and working according to all the conditions and still he takes the path of suffering on himself, what does it mean? That this is how the Creator is bringing him closer or this is how he works on the entire ten, can you explain?

R. This is called torments of love and here I think the person should simply make an effort and see that all of these things came to him in order to advance him, in order to advance him.

8. S. (34:46) It says that one comes from Lo Lishma to Lishma. When will Rav as our teacher do the transition and begin to teach us Lishma? When will our Kli be ready for it?

R. First of all when your vessel will be ready is not up to me, it’s up to you. It is according to the extent of connection between you, not anyone of you but according to the connection between you, this is one. Second, the teacher cannot teach these things, no. He can only tell you and give you a few councils which you implement between you and accordingly you learn. Again I am repeating it, I can give you a few councils and you according to my advice if you implement them then you will realize who you are, what it is that you have to do and where you need to advance. The work is your work.

9. S. (36:24) We read this article several times also in the past. The feeling is that when we read I Am First and I Am Last, I feel like I’m hollow. How to take this feeling to the work, to do the correct work of Lishma with the ten?

R. I have nothing to add besides repeating your words, to do the work with the ten, of course.

10. S. (37:09) What does it mean to move away from the wicked?

R. To avenge the wicked means that we have to as much as possible refrain from foreign thoughts and actions. Foreign means egoistic.

11. S. (37:37) You answered before that through the qualities from below upwards we have to see the relationship as the result of the Creator. What does it mean?

R. We need to try to get closer to them so that the Creator will begin to show us in the states between us, between the friends all of the spiritual actions. Because actually all of the spiritual actions should not leave the framework, the circle of the ten. Listen to this well. All of the spiritual actions should take place in the circle of the ten. And there in the combination between all of our states we will learn it. I don’t learn the friend’s face, for example the face of someone in the room or from Kyiv, Italy, or Moscow, I don’t study these faces I am studying the qualities. And from all of these different kinds of qualities that I study, this is how I advance. Don’t think that you have anything to learn except for the relations between the friends; then we study everything that we need to have about the upper world. It’s very simple. There is no need for anything else because the whole of creation exists in the 10 Sefirot and if we begin to receive and bestow between us then we become those 10 Sefirot with the intention in order to bestow to the Creator from our connection, from our efforts. And when one who feels that he is rejected, repelled from the connection with the friends, it is a sign that he has a higher soul and he has to invest more forces, however he will actually receive a greater reward. So don’t despair.

12. S. (40:49) What does it mean to be lazy in the work on this path?

R. To idle in the work means that I don’t want to see in my friends’ the qualities of my soul. Are you listening? That I don’t want to see in my friends the qualities of my soul. I don’t want to take them further in.

13. S. (41:36) Something is not clear to me. How do I work with the desires that I can’t manage? How can I understand what the Creator wants from me? I tried to do it through the prayer but don't get any response. What other kinds of interaction do I need in order to understand what to do with all of these desires?

R. You need to try to be closer to the friends as much as possible. And only this concern will bring you to the solution.

S. But also when it is about new desires that I find as tendencies I didn’t have before, it’s things that are not related to the ten but to corporeal life, things that cause me to get the stuck. That too?

R. I don’t know, and I don’t want to get into all of these scrutinies, but you should know, all in all you are scrutinizing spiritual qualities from your connection with the friends.

14. S. (43:05) Is the work Lishma ultimately when your work becomes a habit that nobody notices? Is the work in Lishma actions you do until they become a habit and your environment doesn't even feel that it’s happening, they take it for granted.

R. Yes, yes.

15. S. (43:42) What does it mean to be merciful inside the ten?

R. I do not know how to explain this. Merciful, graceful, patient with lots of mercy and truth, there are many depictions of the Creator. But merciful, from the word mercy, Rahamim which means to be generous, inclined towards forgiving, we later get that from the feeling.

16. S. (44:42) You say we need to invest everything into the relationships with the friends. To serve the friends I understand but relationship between the friends is that inner work?

R. Of course it is.

S. What about external work?

R. External? I don’t know what you’re doing here but inner work is that we want to combine our qualities with the inclination towards the Creator so that He will feel us and will respond to us.

17. S. (45:29) We say that in the connection between us we acquire deficiencies from the friends. What does it mean to acquire their qualities?

R. Through incorporation, all in all to reach incorporation. That what the Creator did by breaking the vessels of Adam HaRishon is that we became disconnected. So we have to get closer and connect between us such that our qualities will enter an incorporation between us with no limit. And in this way we will reach a single vessel, this is called as one man in one heart.

18. S. (46:21) It says in the article the state where a person is lazy in the work, when does it mean that a person is lazy in the work?

R. When he has opportunities to be connected internally as much as possible with the friends but he runs away from it to all kinds of forms of connection that are more external.

S. Is it possible that the ten is lazy in the work as a ten?

R. Maybe.

19. S. (46:59) Is Lishma to justify the friends and the Creator by the means of friends no matter what?

R. For sure, yes, this is I would say the first condition.

20. S. (47:28) I feel that I am extremely repelled in my connection with the friends. How can I overcome my despair?

R. Think that all of these things you need to feel them on the way to the purpose of creation. Therefore there is nothing redundant in any state. The Creator created everything meticulously, precisely so that you have to go through all of these states in order to be capable of feeling the final wholeness and perfection.

S. I don't feel that I give enough contentment to the Creator, I cannot work in a good way when I am repelled by the friends, I cannot.

R. Try, you can. You have all the conditions, you’re OK, you’re advancing nicely, you just have to be a bit more optimistic, that’s it.

21. S. (49:10) What does it mean that the friends are the qualities of my soul?

R. Because ultimately the soul of each and every one includes all of the souls or at least the ten. So all the qualities that are in my friends, there is a reason why I am together with them, connected. The Creator has arranged it for us that we will complete each other's qualities and in this way we will feel at least to a certain extent a minimal measure of creation.

S. So what does it mean to study their qualities? What qualities am I looking for?

R. I become incorporated with their qualities, they become incorporated with my qualities, and we are in a mutual complementation. And in this way we assemble a common vessel called Neshama, soul.

S. What qualities am I looking for in the friends?

R. Only qualities of bestowal and love. There is nothing more in which we can become  incorporated, in bestowal and love, and they also have no other qualities. Everything that I discover in them besides bestowal, love, connection, and incorporation, besides those qualities, there are only my egoistic qualities, and this is why I see them this way.

S. You said before that I want to appreciate the Creator and all that we have is to appreciate the Creator. What does that mean?

R. He is good and is doing good to the good and to the bad and there is Nothing Else Besides Him and so on and so forth. Whatever, we can ascribe only to Him.

22. S. (51:16) What is the filling of the vessel in order to bestow?

R. The fulfillment of the vessel in order to bestow is the upper light, the presence of the Creator which also exists according to the equivalence of form of the vessel in order to bestow.

S. What does it mean the presence, the recognition that the Creator is giving us the filling? It’s not clear, what is the filling itself?

R. The Creator fulfills everything to the extent that the Kli, the created being meaning the ten can resemble the Creator, they connect in such a reciprocal way that the Creator fills them. And this is what they discover.

S. But if we are connected as a ten what else besides that on top of that is the filling itself?

R. If you are connected as a ten then you feel that the Creator fills you with His NRNHY

S. I don't understand. What is this addition over the connection where there is an additional filling?

R. That connection is a technical thing. What’s connection? We’re connected. But fulfillment  already indicates what essence of connection we come to, what kind of identification we have with the Creator.

S. How can we prepare the right vessel for this filling so it will be in order to bestow? How do we  reach such a deficiency?

R. By connecting between us and establishing such qualities between us, that is the whole matter from love of the created beings to love of the Creator. Otherwise if the Creator would not shatter the vessel and allow us the opportunity, the possibility to make this correction of connection between us we would never be able to get closer to Him and connect with Him. Therefore from love of the created beings to the love of the Creator, because without developing the system, the mechanism, the method for how to connect with that created beings and fulfill them we won’t be able to achieve connection and adhesion with the Creator. Because with the Creator there is not that much of work actually.

23. S. (54:20) We just read that in spirituality if a person is not active in the work he is punished. What is this punishment?

R. This punishment can come in different ways if a person gets further away, but he actually determines his own punishment. That he can’t advance in order to bestow then he receives punishment.

24. S. (55:35) It says here that he expects the Creator will get him the vessel called to will to  bestow. How can we explain this desire, the will to bestow through the process of inner connection in the ten? Is this a deficiency to connect or is it already the connection in the ten?

R. That’s a deficiency to connect. What’s important is the deficiency.

25. S. (56:13) Should a person even check and how can he check if the disturbance he is receiving is because he was working well, and now he has the possibility to overcome? Or he was idle in the work? Should the person check and if so how that the burdening he receives, the punishment is because he worked well in connection and this is why he now receives additional forces or he was idle in the work, lazy and now he's given a punishment?

R. This is really difficult to notice. It’s a good question but why does it matter?

S. Because this question always comes up. That now the disturbance, is it because I didn’t work or the opposite, I worked well. There’s a big difference between the two.

R. No, it is not a big difference. If I receive it as an opportunity to advance then I have no difference. Either the Creator doesn't want me and rejects me or I’ve done some mistake here and received this rejection as if I caused it myself. Meaning it’s either by awakening from below or by awakening from above. So what does it matter? As long as I have now an opportunity to advance. So don’t take it back into myself, that would be the most accurate thing. That it doesn't matter to me why I received a rejection. What's important for me is that now I have an opportunity on top of this rejection to advance towards the Creator.

26. S. (58:22) Questions about the topic of scrutinizing the qualities in the ten. How do we scrutinize the qualities of the friends?

R. Talk clearly.

S. How do we scrutinize the qualities of the friends?

R. The qualities of the friends? I don't really need that, it’s not my work to clarify the qualities of the friends. My work is to be as close to them as possible. Therefore clarifying these qualities, what am I becoming a psychologist? No, this is not the correct approach. I have to love them, come closer to them with whatever conditions I have.

27. S. (59:40) Which qualities of the friends should I try to acquire first, their desire to discover the Creator or their efforts which they make in the work? Which qualities of the friends should I try to acquire first, their desire to discover the Creator or their efforts which they make in the work?

R. I want to reach love, meaning connection with the qualities of the friends that are in the same inclination towards me as I want to be towards them.

28. S. (01:00:40) On the topic of the article it is written in the beginning of the article therefore when they teach the children and the women and the uneducated people they are told to work only out of fear and to be rewarded. Who are the little ones, women, and uneducated people?

R.  Those that still didn't enter spiritual work.

29. S. (01:01:13) What fear is Rabash talking about here, that they should work out of fear?

R. They should work out of fear in that, that they’re not aiming for the Creator.

30. S. (01:01:35) Does the path of suffering help to lead us to the path of Torah?

R. Yes, it's two paths, path of Torah and path of suffering. Ultimately they both lead to correction but the path of suffering is much longer.

31. S. (01:01:57) What is private providence?

R. Private providence is with respect to the person as the name implies. We have to try to be in private providence, that what happens to us is the Creator serving personally to each and everyone.

32. S. (01:02:30) What are the signs that we are in Lo Lishma?

R. That we think about ourselves and yet we are also in some form of connection, relative connection with the friends, and aiming towards the goal of creation to some extent. Joining the lessons but still thinking about ourselves. This is called Lo Lishma.

32. S. (01:03:09) How does the ten advance to Lishma? What should we work on in particular?

R. To work in particular is what we're studying now all the time. What does it mean? We want to find a solution in a word and it doesn't work that way. We have to learn this whole topic, get into it, delve into it and thus advance.

33 S. (01:03:47) How can a person feel that he needs the help of the Creator so that all of his actions will only be for the sake of Heaven?

R. Again it's the same answers for basically the same questions. We need to learn what we are studying in the lessons and during the day we should repeat it a few times and try to get closer by these texts, realize them as much as possible and do so from day to day. And our lessons are organized today in such a way that by them we are moving closer and closer, so don't miss them.

34. S. (01:04:50) What does it mean that the path of suffering is longer than the path of Torah?

R. The path of Torah means that I learn what I receive from the Creator as a result of my actions in the group. And the path of suffering means that I'm not really learning that. And therefore the path is longer, and it could be much longer, decades longer.

35. S. (01:05:28) The only source for my spirituality is the ten?

R. Yes here there is basically no other option, no other option to advance towards the form of the Creator, the connection with the Creator, only through the ten.

36. S. (01:05:59) Which exercise do you recommend for us to do during the day in the ten in order to implement what we are learning about Lishma versus Lo Lishma?

R. The same article that we read in the morning read it a few more times, divide it into sections and understand how it's built. That's what I would recommend.

37. S. (01:07:00) When we look at the friends, what does it mean to see in the friend Lishma?

R. You can't see on the friend whether he's in Lishma or not, is that what you mean?

S. Earlier we said that we need to see qualities in them, we need to see the qualities of the friends, the qualities of love and bestowal?

R. That's right but not Lishma or Lo Lishma.

S. Okay so, being seeing these qualities in them, how do you take, in what do I see these qualities in them help you for your advancement on the path of Lishma?

R. I study them, I try to understand them, envy, lust, and honor push me forward and therefore I want to be as connected as possible to my friends and as in a real as possible way.

S. But this Lishma, how is it manifested in the end, what is it, it's an intention, it's an action, it's a quality, what is this Lishma?

R. Lishma means in order to bestow, that I want to make an action to bestow towards the Creator; that means I make an action of Lishma in which I have nothing for myself in return.

S. And so this transition from performing actions for your own benefit and to performing to the benefit of the Creator, how does it happen?

R. This is by the upper light that causes me to move from intentions to receive or what we call Lo Lishma to intentions to bestow called Lishma.

S. So why is it specifically in this point that's so many fall?

R. Because that's against our nature, as long as I have a will to receive and until I have a will to receive and it helps me and I want to be smart, be wise, understand what Kabbalists are talking about, this is called still an egoistic form that I study in the way of Lo Lishma, and that is it. Not for Lishma, meaning not for the sake of Torah; not just the Creator, but for the Torah, which is entirely in order to bring me to in order to bestow.

S. The benefits in Lo Lishma, they are very clear and also the fuel you have there, it’s very clear there; however, it's very much felt that to start to be in the direction of Lishma it’s if some action doesn't occur to you from above how else will happen?

R. It will happen from above like all the actions.

S. But how do you reach the point where you enable this thing to happen?

R. That doesn't depend on us, we have to continue as much as we can to push ourselves towards connection, towards in order to bestow. By that we allow the upper light to be closer to us, to bestow to us and so He bestows and advances us towards us, thus towards Him and that's how we advance.

S. If it doesn't depend on us then?

R. What do you mean depends on us, it depends on how much you push yourselves to the study, to dissemination, to connection with the friends, connection with the whole world Kli in general, it all brings the great light towards you.

S. So I push myself to all the actions that you now talked about, but is the Creator expecting something from you so that we can say that at this moment you are ready for Lishma,  or you can't tell if you're ready Lishma?

R. When the light influences you, you will see that you are ready and to what extent from small to great, more and more towards Lishma.

S. Do I have a way to check myself from one day to the next, rather whether I am more in the direction of Lishma?

R. A way to really examine it in an accurate way that is maybe with numbers, I'm not saying there is afterwards in the actual degrees, but not in the meantime. In the meantime, it is in your feeling, still if you stay from day to day and advance from your desire towards in order to bestow in your tendency, in your direction towards connection with the friends than you advance.

S. So what needs to change in you emotionally from one day to the next?

R. That you are in the same direction, that you want to be more and more connected and your friends, even though you see them at times as farther and that you even reject them, you still understand that you need to get closer to them and so on.

38 S. (01:13:53) You told us before the all the spiritual actions have to take place in the circle of the ten, what is a spiritual action, what makes an action that we perform a spiritual action?

R. “Spiritual action” is in the direction of connection to reach the system of Adam HaRishon.

S. There are things that we feel that we are doing by ourselves, somebody reads an article before sleep at home, how is this related to his connection in the ten?

R. To the extent that we connect in the ten and accordingly we are in the execution of the spiritual work because you can't do spiritual work without having a complete ten. And all the friends that are somewhat and somehow joining together and connection between them, and through their connection to reach bestowing to the Creator.

S. What should we pay attention to when we perform an action in the ten. A Zoom meeting or a meal, what should be the foremost importance so that we don't miss out in this action?

R. Just to not forget what it means ‘a spiritual action’, connection between us and the Creator, that's it. It's just two actions here: to connect between us, and aim ourselves towards the Creator.

39. S. (01:16:09) How can I check that I'm truly gathering the qualities of the friends?

R. According to the response: if you're getting the right response from above, it's a sign that you've been in the right action.

40. S. (01:17:03) In the beginning of the article he writes, “I Am the First and I Am the Last, and there is no God but Me”; in the end he writes, “all that is called by My name, I have created for My own glory”. What is the purpose of the glory, the honor of the Creator, why is it specifically the glory?

R. The glory of the Creator is what you need to attain because then you'll attain the peak of the entire reality. That from this point, that He is the One and Only, The Unique One, etc., etc., from that point starts creation. To which you want, you need, and you must reach otherwise you will not conclude your correction and we're not talking about the glory of the Creator as we're talking about some glory of the person. We're talking about from the perspective of the vessels, the correction a person puts on himself.

S. What is it from the perspective of the vessels or the corrections?

R. That you need to reach in your vessels, to the corrections of the glory of the Creator, you have to feel how special He is, how exalted He is, the highest and the most organized and aimed to the correction of the entire creation because He is sustaining the entire creation.

S. And so two questions: how do I feel it because now I don't feel it, how do I do it through connection with friends I feel and why specifically, precisely in this way. Why do I need to feel specifically in this way?

R. Because with respect to your will to receive this is the most exalted thing, that’s it. With your respect to your will to receive this is the highest thing, this is why you need to hold it this way, to reach it and to try to reach it.

41. S. (01:37:19) First we read that the Creator giving us in the heart the desire to bestow, when I pay attention to this, I feel gratitude and joy. The question is this the desire to receive of mine that wants to up for what belongs to the Creator?

R. That doesn't matter to us now, it's my will to receive changing this way or maybe I get the true will to bestow, later we will know that, in the meantime we cannot distinguish.

42. S. (01:20:35) When the person catches himself thinking only about himself and that becomes suffering for him. is that a gift from above?

R. Well yes, it depends on what state he's in; the matter of torments depends on a person, it's not that the torments have some special phenomenon, it’s measured with respect to a person.

43. S. (01:21:19) We heard that the Creator gives us pleasures and we return appreciation, what is that appreciation towards Him?

R. To the extent that we can appreciate Him, that everything He did was the Good that does good towards the purpose of creation.

S. That appreciation, is it a vessel or a means of continuation of the connection, what is that appreciation?

R. Appreciation is, I will tell you again with respect to the purpose of creation, that everything He's doing is to lead us to the purpose of creation. The one connection so that we will connect meaning in our corrections we will reach the complete connection, and then we will attain the state just like Him.

S. And how does that come in the relation to the ten?

R. Well, it's clear that the ten has to be connected and incorporated but these are just words.

S. We spoke about qualities?

R. The incorporation of the qualities has to lead us to the complete, whole quality, which is called the Creator.

S. And the appreciation is in that?

R. Yes, we build Him.

S. And this is the means for our conversation of sorts, appreciation of the qualities?

R. Yes, yes.

44. S. (01:23:20) You said there are two actions: to come to the connections between us and aim ourselves towards the Creator. Can you help us and explain what it means ‘to aim ourselves  to the Creator’, how can we feel the Creator and how can we aim ourselves towards Him?

R. To connect ourselves to the connection between us, that's something we must do, that’s written, it's clear, right? Aiming the connection between us so it will take upon itself the shape of the Creator, meaning to aim the connection between us to the Creator, to the shape of the Creator, that’s a second question already. And by these actions we come to the whole shape, the complete shape of the created beings that becomes ‘as one man and one heart’ in the mutual connection and the Creator fills them, maybe I didn't understand your question exactly.

S. That's the question, but we're saying sometimes that it's three stages, and you’re saying now that we need to aim our connections to get the form of the Creator. On the other hand to reach connection in which we can feel the Creator, we need to assume His form. If I can feel what it means to aim to the Creator I can build such a connection in my ten so is aiming towards the Creator, can that serve us in the connection in the ten?

R. So it turns out we cannot have one without the other and the other without the first. We have to annul; each one has to annul himself to the friends and in this way come closer and connect between us. And as we start to connect between ourselves, after we somehow come closer, it looks like we are forming the restriction, the screen and the reflected light and connection. And when we start being in a connection between us, we need to understand what the shape of the Creator means, Come and See, the Creator between us, when each of us opens ourselves to the  others and by that we reached an incorporation between us to a state that none of us remains in his broken shape but rather we all connect in kinds of secondary qualities to each other in a way that no quality remains unconnected to other qualities. And this is how we reach the complete connection, complete correction. I don't really have the words for it.

45. S. (01:27:00) There is a question from a friend regarding the article we read today, about dividing it into several parts. Is this a personal advice or should we do it together in the ten?

R. I don't know, I don't think it will work if we do it together in the ten, first of all the article itself was long; secondly until you gather and start reading, it will take time, it's a two full page article, I don't think so. I think you should somehow read it from time to time, more and more, and time and again, and be confused and forget it and come back again and by that we will connect. The main thing is that we draw the lights that reforms by that, not how much we understand in our intellect but how much we want this article to enter into our hearts. That's all the articles we've been reading lately, all were talking about Lishma and Lo Lishma.

S. A person who does such a work personally and attracts the light that reforms?

R. Yes of course, of course, each and every one and if we all do it, so it's more.

46. S. (01:28:29) It is written, I Am the First and I Am the Last, so where is my responsibility towards the ten?

R. How is that related to how I Am the First and I Am the Last, that's the Creator, it’s not a person, I Am the First and I Am the Last, and this is why it is man's work to reach a state that he discovers the Creator, that He is the First and He is the Last.

S. What is my responsibility towards the ten, what are the actions, what are my actions towards the ten if everything is the Creator, if He is the First and He is the Last?

R. My work with respect to the ten is that I have to bring them everything possible from the method of the attainment of the Creator, both in potential and in action, both in explanation and in action, I owe everything to my friends. I'm making a commitment with them that they will reach the final correction.

47. S. (01:30:44) Why, is much as we cleave to the light, I personally feel myself farther from the intention of to give to the friends, to bestow to the friends? It seems that it becomes more and more challenging to spend the day with the constant thought about the friends?

R. That is temporary, it will pass, it's temporary and it will pass, and you will see that everything will change.

48. S. (01:31:22) Lo Lishma are our actions in intentions that our aim towards bestowal but are performed for one’s sake, what is the intermediary state?

R. Lishma is what we call in order to bestow, to bestow in order to bestow or to receive an order to bestow, that is called Lishma.

S. And then to bestow in order to bestow is also Lishma?

R. Yes, everything that's not for my vessels of reception is called Lishma.

S. How, if so, does this transition happen from reception to bestow?

R. By the light that reforms.
