Faith In The Sages as The Means for Faith Above Reason - Excerpts from the Sources

1. Rav’s Introduction: This is something extremely important without faith in the sages we cannot reach faith above reason, we cannot reach contact with the Creator because there is no direct connection between our egoistic desire and the desire to bestow. If we are in our desire to receive we cannot jump into the desire to bestow we don't understand what it is, we don't know how to approach it, how to be ready for it. We need a guide who knows how to take us from feeling this world to feeling the next world, we understand that we are in this world, the desire to receive and only through it we understand, we feel what happens so it develops in all our qualities, in our hearts and brain. We have to reach a state where we feel reality in the desire to bestow. What is the desire to bestow, we do not know and then how can we develop this in order to feel a different reality as it says “I have seen an upside down world”. We need to go through a special transition which could last a while in time and also include plenty of intermediary states in between this world and the next thing, in the desire to receive and then existing in the desire to give it does not happen all at once but it is a gradual process let grace chase me all my life as Rabash writes for example. 

We need a grown-up who exists in these two worlds can show us how to make this transition and it is not anybody who has some feeling of the spiritual world who can be our guide. Instead it has to do with the methodical feeling, the understanding of the feeling of the world they transition how to go through it in a methodical way gradually, so that the quality is called the quality of Moshe, where on one hand he has the quality of the Creator and on the other hand it is a loyal guide, loyal shepherd. He can take on himself this role, resisting it many times asking the Creator to let him go and I do not want to do this, nevertheless he keeps this role so he needs to understand that faith in the Sages is akin to being on the path itself do all the actions we have to perform according to the Creator's commandments, like Moses, the loyal shepherd and how much we actually follow his footsteps. Anybody who has been to some serious hikes, not just a family trips but they serious mountain climbing, understands that working in an unfamiliar territory when the person is in danger in the serious path which is not a market in order not to fall and to go through properly one has to be dressed properly on an unmarked path to not fall and to traverse it properly you have to be dressed properly with the proper hiking boots with a proper stick, staff without which one cannot advance and you have to follow the one who is going in front of you and place your feet in his footsteps. 

This way you can advance and go properly, this is more or less what beginners are being told when they enter the spiritual path like on a physical road which is unpaved, unmarked, unknown path, which is unpaved, and the first one who is the head of the group, he knows the path and the others do not know the path. This is how it works in the physicality and this is the physical world and also in the spiritual very because we do not know in spirituality how to take the next correct step. On the contrary, our egoism constantly confuses us, misleads us. We do not have many clear disturbances which can lead us in falling without making mistakes. You do not have the necessary examinations, we do not know the details. This is on one hand from the physical perspective it has to be clear if you talk about the spiritual progress since we are entering the upper world seeing an upside down world, it is inverted to how can we portray it as inverted instead of white black, it is also from this world. We can't even imagine how this inverted world looks like from our viewpoint. Even if we make all kinds of our notions like love and bestowal we can't properly imagine the spiritual world since we don't have anything from that world no understanding, no attainment, no feeling, no tastes. We have to walk with our eyes closed because our eyes are truly closed and we see nothing we are inside our desire to receive, our eyes turned inside into our brain, into our belly and we perform the actions we are doing to benefit ourselves. Only while spirituality is walking in the opposite direction and this oppositeness we cannot depict from one thing something and we do something opposite we cannot do this many fall into this trap. 

So to follow, walking the faith of the Sages when we follow that the Sages are telling us with our eyes shut, this means that we are moving according to the revelations of the Sages, how to wake up the Creator inside of us, to wake up inside of us the appearance of the soul which is the image of the Creator which is the quality of Bina for the time being building a place building the conditions for the revelation of the Creator this place has to somewhat resemble the Creator. This is available, we need to do what we learn from the study of the 10 Sefirot first of all, making room by removing the egoistic desire from our place and building gradually in its place, degrees from the root 123 for the degrees of bestowal. By that we clear up room in our desire to receive and we have an empty vacant place which constructor the quality of bestowal, we can allow the Creator to appear there and construct us in this vacant place, in this empty place to move my ego and the Creator can appear. He does not appear in my place, in an empty place which I cleared for him and here we need a great deal of help from the friends specifically inside the ego, in the center of the selfish ego, in our egoistic connections between us there in the center of the 10 we can make room for the revelation of the Creator, for the appearance of the quality of love. A little bit of bestowal appears in the qualities of the soul in Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Haya, Yechida, of Nefesh de Nefesh through the entire 125 degrees. This is what it's called the start of the development of the soul, the start of the evolution of the soul from the smallest degree from the embryo state and so on through the Yenika, Mochin and this way we grow up by the quality of bestowal developing inside the quality of reception, a new form within the previous form. 

Just how the embryo develops in the mother's womb as they do not disturb each other, instead it is arranged in such a way that the mother's body supports the embryo’s development, grows the form of the embryo although the embryo’s body is a foreign body in the mother's body and we know that if we introduce something foreign into our body, the body immediately reacts and tries to reject this for in body.  In respect to the embryo there is no such thing. There's a special system which does not reject it, but accepts it, develops it, gently with love and the entire body of the mother works in the direction of growing this embryo. This is what we need to understand, that in this way, just like the woman's body that cares for the developing embryo, we need to connect in love between us and relate with love towards the quality of bestowal between us. We are growing specifically this quality between us one cannot do this alone but specifically in the relationship between us when we can imagine the quality of bestowal and grow it more and more and specifically on top of the quality of reception. Through our entire body from that desire to receive, we develop inside of it the quality of bestowal between us, that new embryo and this new embryo will be called man again. Because it will be similar to the Creator so this new embryo will be called man or Adam similar and this is how we have to be attentive to correction and to the development. What else could I say before we start, we need to examine how do I relate to the revelation of the soul, how to relate to the construction of the soul within me I need to understand that only with the complete body of the group with the mutual concessions towards each other making room in the middle that will be the place of the mother's womb and then the quality of bestowal can appear. 

This is the meaning of that you have made me then we ourselves by activating clearing this is space from the desire to receive allowing the desire to bestowal to exist then then the Creator establishes a form within the form. This will be our advancement, so our entire work is the work of the group, our mutual work only so if I yearn for the Creator if I aim at the Creator at first aiming at the friends, then this is not the right progress, if I am at the Creator without aiming at the group's first then I am in the wrong part. These are not only pretty words but this is a necessity, this is necessary for us to advance this way to the truthful revelation because otherwise this form cannot be revealed. We are in a state called the last generation and the more we progress, I hope I can tell you more about this the important thing is to understand the more we connect ourselves and the Creator in quantity and quality and make a room inside the desire to receive for the desire to bestow. So the desire to receive acquires the form of bestowal, relative to so relative to the picture of the Creator in us, we can depict the Creator in us has to nullify his ego to a certain extent as much as we can, so each one has to nullify the ego. As much as we connect our desires clean the ego as much as possible when we connect these desires to each other then already exist the quality of bestowal in us and there we discovered according to the similarity of form with the Creator, the general form of bestowal where the Creator starts to conceive appear in us. This is what it is called the Creator is conceived in us for your sake. Therefore each and everybody in order to reveal the Creator must take himself through the connection in the group then in all those things we are going through we need to understand that there is no point in arguing with the ego there is no point going directly against the ego we have to imagine as if it did not exist. 

Simply close our eyes and walk as it is written the work with our eyes shut and relative to what are we closing our eyes, relative to the ego we do not want to see, want to connect between us in such a way that this all inclusive form will be ready to reveal the Creator in us. Let's hope that we will be able to understand it and realize it we have to be grateful for the generation of Sages, each of them who served in their own generation are still remember how the Baal HaSulam asked to be lowered from his high degree so from that states from that high degree he could not say connect to the people, to the lower ones, to write them something to help them out instantly, even without writing, just in participating in different forces. So he asked to be lowered as it is everything but he could not suffer, he could not stand how far they are from the Creator to save us to bring us closer to delight the Creator to bring us closer so he asked to be lowered from his degree. This is how he was able to write what he was writing bringing his forces to the lower ones so we can advance and use his writings to progress, the Sages in their faith with the force of Bina can help us through them so we have to hear what they tell us and advance accordingly we could keep talking about so let's hear what you want to ask and then we go to the sources.

2. S. (24:12) What is believing in faith above reason?

R. This concept of faith above reason will remain unclear I will say that until the end of correction then faith above reason will become fully clear but what is faith above reason it is when we raise the force of bestowal in importance and how we use it above the force of reception where the desire to give is more important to us then the desire to receive, we prefer this although we are in the will to receive. This is called faith above reason choose bestowal over reception wherever I am with the friends I try to be in the force of bestowal on top of the first of reception I throw out my egoistic forces where I keep building on top of it an opposite force. So it is very important it is called faith above reason, it cannot be a spiritual degree unless it is existing on top of a physical quality, or information and this is how we have to establish one top of the other it is a fundamental principle concept if we develop this will be until the end of correction which is the evolution of this concept of faith above reason, a coarseness that is appearing from the shattering more and more and on top of it, we correct the shattering and build the quality of bestowal more and more.

3. S. (26:53) You said that we need to go forward with closed eyes as if the desire to receive or the ego did not exist, so should we not use our desire to receive the ego in a way that it is proactive to advance towards the quality of bestowal?

R. You are right, the concept to work with our eyes closed as if the desire to receive did not exist it means that nevertheless we did not erase it, I work above it, we do not delete it, I work above it. It is difficult to depict these things because the degrees of coarseness, there are some degrees that we have to rise above them without looking at them and there are some degrees when we used the desire to receive to build the quality of bestowal from it as a copy, as a dressing over it. So faith above reason is built entirely over one’s egoistic desire so this is how it is written that I created the evil inclination and I created the Torah as a spice with its light that can reform. We simply turn the desire to receive into in order to bestow in its use. So we do not delete the desire to receive that we change its form but the initial action they perform to enter spirituality we need to seemingly delete, restrict the desire to receive but we do not get rid of it we have to understand that it is not possible because otherwise there would be no creation but we seemingly need to cancel it. Later we can start to use it in an opposite direction with an opposite intention after the nullification the more it gives us selfish advice we use it in an opposite way code love covers all crimes and the desire to receive has various forms from the shattering because these forms are opposite from the lights and is showing us forms that it is opposite to the light and then turn it to a form which is similar to the light, this is why this is called help against. We are learning about it, it is very interesting, we are going to learn about it and we will discover through it the Creator’s program, how he started the creation and we are here to finish it.

4. S. (30:09) You said we have to leave an empty space where the Creator can reveal himself what is this empty space and how can rearrange it?

R. This empty space we construct from the revelation of the Creator is when inside our desires where we wish to connect to each other, each and everybody together, we leave a space where we wish to receive nothing for ourselves. but we want to give unconditionally using these desires, we seemingly clear a space like there is a space inside the woman where later the embryo can live and develop and be born from it. This is how we have to arrange this place between us inside our desires such an empty space, this is called the empty space or vacuum if you have to clear it of all our previous intentions to receive and we want to achieve only one thing, to connect and we want the Creator to arrange this form for us. This is the meaning of creating a form within a form that Creator will arrange inside this empty space, the quality of the future embryo the form of the spiritual world. This is how we will know him where the Creator himself starts to grow there as it says you have made me, the words might not be enough here to sufficiently explain this but we try to arrange this feeling.

5. S. (32:18) How not to be mistaken on the path when we follow the footsteps of the teacher, how can we cling to the teacher without going wrong?

R. We should not be afraid of making any mistakes if we try to establish between us those directions we receive from the Sages especially from Rabash, if we read his writings, especially those are about the society and his other articles, I went over them several times. I can tell you that if we read in his articles in general, in addition to the reforming light that shines on us, it is already a spiritual action. But the understanding feeling that we receive from reading Rabash articles, it has to do with faith in the Sages which is the topic of the lesson because by that we arrange ourselves, we organize ourselves and we gradually connect and this room between us will be the place for the revelation of the Creator.

6. S. (34:05) I know from experience that when a couple once to get pregnant and there is a lot of desire around to become pregnant but also with it expectations, it is sometimes very hard to become pregnant, at the moment they let go of the expectation and the pressure then suddenly spontaneous pregnancy happens. Is there something we can learn in our spiritual preparation towards the embryo state from this?

R. I don't want to enter practical gynaecology but we can see from the Torah with the stories about Leah, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, those mother's, the matriarch's in the Torah they are not women really, it speaks of spiritual details of the Malchut that approach the implementation of in order to bestow it was extremely difficult for them to become pregnant to conceive. Sarah could not conceive until she was 99 years old and all the others for them all so it was very difficult, that was also a lot of confusion, all sorts of things. This only shows as and we'll learn how difficult it is to establish in each and every degree the matter of the new degree which is called the embryo conception

7. S. (36:30) We connect with the friends in the 10 does that mean that each relieves this empty space?

R. Move yourself a tiny bit to let the others exist inside you, in your desire and then how each one of the friends have to make room inside each and every person, in his desire so each and everybody will make room within his desire for the friends. In that place which we cleared from our selfish desires we can slowly begin to reveal the higher reality, reality of bestowal, the reality of the upper world which is the Creator this is how we make room inside ourselves.

S. What does it mean that in the same mutual place there is a form of which appears within a form?

R. It is very simple, if I restrict myself and the other, also a few of us together, what do we want the force of bestowal to begin to appear in this place because we left it empty, this place called desire. We cleared our desires to a certain extent from the desire to receive, so these qualities can become one, they can connect and in this common desire between us the desire to bestow, to some extent, we really want the general forms of bestowal to appear which is called the Creator. That's how we connect to him, that's how we reveal him inside ourselves, this is the act of bestowal we can perform, this is how we construct our mutual Partzuf. Then the Creator can dress into this Partzuf this is that we create a form within form in the form of reception which we clear in order to bestow mutually, not to bestow properly but at least to nullify ourselves towards the Creator with the new intention and then the Creator can start to organize and the upper light comes and arranges our desire in order to bestow and then we feel that we have the form of bestowal inside the desire to receive just like the embryo which starts to develop inside the woman's womb.

8. S. (39:45) Please help us understand, how do 10 desires to bestow connect since everybody is building differently from the origin of his soul?

R. If you want it to happen the upper light will do it, not as we understand it, we cannot do it. Your problem is that you want to supervise, you want to organize, you want to determine the entire spiritual process but you cannot do this ever. Only by nullifying consistently the desire to receive then we can see how the upper light creates in us these new forms. How to do this, we call it from your actions we shall know you that has to be some actions of the upper light and then we can recognize these actions and we will grow up from your actions, we will know you.

S. How should we nullify, how should we work with ourselves, how should we nullify, how should we build this place in the 10?

R. This also only the upper light does, all the actions of correction the nullification and further development happens only by the light when we simply make room for it, we want it to happen, we pray for it to happen and by this we become a partners with the light and then the upper force, nature which will be doing this.

S. How should I bring my ten to this?

R. You have to give them examples, show them how much you want to connect with them, try to construct such a form like a general quality of bestowal which is the Creator’s quality, you have to give an example and make mutual effort. The upper light will do the action on you, this is called the Creator will finish the job for me, all the jobs are done by the upper light, the Creator will finish the job for us. Gradually, we do these actions together with him, we make actions, he will make an action, we prepare the space and he will finish the work on it where we clear room from the ego and the Creator fills it with the force of bestowal so this is how we keep advancing “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me”.

9. S. (42:49) We understand that you have to start from the embryo state Ibur, Yenika, Mochin and we develop higher and higher through the other states, how does that happen and how do we feel this?

R. Of course this is happening with us, we can feel this but how we will feel this strongly, clearly this is called spiritual attainment, then we gradually climb and then we get to know this more and more. We get to know it from the side of the question and also from the side of the answer, everything is built on deficiency and fulfillment.

10. S. (43:42) In order for these changes to happen, is it sufficient to show that there is a desire for it?

R. One has to cancel himself practically to the group, you have to attain these things, the nullification to the group as Rabash explains we have to do this in practice, it is not enough to show, we have to do it practically.

11. S. (44:23) What is the right way to perform this nullification in order to draw the light we want to the center of the 10?

R. The correct form is that we learn how to do this, each helping his friends how to connect between us more and more, what do you mean the correct form, the correct form is trying to do this.

12. S. (45:23) There was never such a resistance to faith in the sages to what the Sages write then now, is there a specific quality in the person or this is a phase of the development?

R. Faith above reason appears in one who comes to the study the wisdom of Kabbalah, and this is what we have to learn and we have to realize it, and that appears to people who truly want spirituality. Because the spiritual path is built above the selfish desire to receive, which the person needs to restrict, first of all as we learn from the spiritual Partzuf, all spirituality appears only after the restriction and that's how we build the spiritual Partzuf which is the soul or part of the soul. So there was not much resistance to it before, because it wasn't apparent at all, so this wisdom existed in the group of Abraham when he started to tell others about it in ancient Babylon. When they left Babylon they came to the land of Israel which was then called the land of Canaan, and then they went to Egypt and almost forgot about the wisdom of Kabbalah because they descended under the great rule of the ego that appeared in them that time, which is referred to as the exile in Egypt, under the rule of the Pharaoh, which is a spiritual control. When they went to Egypt this is a descent because they came off the force of bestowal which they had before, and descended to Egypt means they descended into the egoistic desire to receive. After they were there for many years until they started feeling how that selfish desire gives them suffering under the rule of the Pharaoh, and they received beatings, but thanks to the beatings and the suffering that they felt in the desire to receive they agreed to come out of it, and then through this way they came out of Egypt. 

This is the whole story of how the desire to receive evolved in them, how they agreed to leave although there were some who did not want to leave, and when they came to the crossing of the Red Sea some still yelled, “let us go back to Egypt”. There were also many who stayed in Egypt, this is called the mixed multitude, and then we have to learn this process because it is very complex in bringing the whole desire to receive to bestowal, and that today we still run into all kinds of resistances and misunderstandings, when we do not understand what is happening, and how can we explain to others even, when we ourselves cannot explain it to ourselves, and how to reach the revelation of the Creator, and what is the upper world, what is in order to bestow. We have nothing of this beside just a tiny spark, which is a tiny Reshimo, a spark which exists in anybody who craves for the revelation of the Creator. Others do not have this, even though there is from the shattering some tiny sparks that exist in every person, but it is still very deep down, buried in the desire to receive, and this is why people do not feel it. By advancing towards the light, through us we will shine on them, and then the sparks that are in us will start to appear and shine in various places. Then more and more people will feel that they have to reach the revelation of the light, the revelation of the Creator, that there is no life in the desire to receive even though the physical life still seems okay, but it's not enough. If it is not enough, it is like something which is familiar with women, the woman can have a whole closet full of different clothes and she would say that I have nothing to wear. This example means that it does not matter how much there is in the will to receive, if there is nothing precious, there is nothing important, it's like there is nothing.

13. S. (51:37) How to reconcile the revelation of hate in the 10 between the friends and with the annulment of ourselves before it? 

R. What is the problem? We do not let go of our will to receive, we simply want to work with it in the direction of bestowal, if it can help us with that then we can use it, if not we restrict it.

S. He asked about the revelation of hate between the friends. How can we ignore it?

R. The hatred between the friends we have to discuss, we have to sit together in a gathering of friends, through our computer screens look at each other, and each one speaks about the hate and talks about the hate, once and for all. Yes, we hate, yes we dislike, we don’t love, we can not connect. It's better if we don’t know each other in the first place, and now we see the more we know each other, and then I see in each one of you, more and more negative qualities, I see such discernments that repulse me. Why should I come close to you? I am instinctively repulsed by them. What does the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us, which is called faith in the sages, I have to go and connect with those people that the Creator arranged for me, as he explains in the article of Arvut, that the Creator placed my hand on the good fortune and and tells me take it, this is for you. Out of discovering in them more and more things that repulse me and the more we advance, the more qualities I will discover in them that repulse me more and more and together with that I need to overcome it, This is called love covers all crimes, and specifically in this sandwich I advance. 

The Creator will give me an even greater will to receive and I will hate them more and more, and I have to overcome it and connect with them more, until we reach love, this is called love covers all transgressions. We have to understand there is nothing to hide, we will truly feel rejection, repulsion, something is not pleasant about him and I don't want to come close to them, I am sick and tired of looking at him. I don't want their qualities and so on. This is all revealed and it is all true except that you are not kids, but we understand we want to discover spirituality then it is possible only above corporality. Until our egoistic desires will gradually reveal itself and above it we have to and we have to cover it with the opposite quality, with bestowal with concessions up to love. This is our work. If I get up in the morning and I don't feel like thinking about anybody, I am confused, I do not want to look at their faces, I don't want to think about them, and my connection with them appears impossible. I am sick and tired of them and more words like this, together with that I need  to understand that this is all help from above, that the Creator is revealed in a new layer of my selfish ego, in a deeper layer than before. 

From zero I'm going deeper and deeper, and worse and worse, this is why I see in the entire world and the friends especially, I see all those negative things. We see it in the people around us, even those people who do not study the wisdom of Kabbalah, even in them we see this impatience, this exasperation and other things, everybody will become more and more selfish seeing only negative qualities. The Creator will teach them in a certain way how to rise above all this, but we have to understand that every day when we receive an addition to the ego of course each day I will find it more difficult to connect with the friends, I am tired of this, I am not in the mood, this is why each has to help his friend, then each helps each other and then most importantly in each group there has to be someone who organize these things, with the usual roles of Gabai and Shatz, two people, it does not matter how to call them, but two friends always who organize the rest of them, who are responsible to wake up the group, to connect the friends together, and to advance. If you don't have these two friends who are responsible for the actual day, then we cannot wake up, we will come to a stage when we all hate each other, and we will not even call each other. 

We do this mechanically according to a schedule so today one friend and the other are responsible to wake up the rest of the group, otherwise you can't even come to the lesson, we need to build these things practically in each 10, and see how each day it is becoming more and more difficult to look at each other, and how each day you can overcome that difficulty in a very serious manner, and we started to talk about it, there is no problem to talk about it, on one hand I hate the others, maybe I do not hate them but I just reject them, I do not want to see them, this is on one hand from the point of view my ego. From the perspective of bestowal I want to approach the Creator, so I have to come to a state where I love like the Creator, I have to love everybody. In these two qualities, hate and love has to exist in each and everybody and all of us together. 

This is how we build the spiritual Partzuf which has both hate and love, coarseness and restriction, screen and reflected light. This is the secret of building the 10, the soul. It is all according to the recommendation of the sages, this is the faith in the sages, and this is what we have to do. Where did it start from? It started from Adam, the system of Adam from that point where the quality of the Creator started to develop in the human species, and the human species started to grow the new ego, like it happened with Adam and his students as the Torah tells us, and from that we have the generations, more and more egoistic generations which came from the animate degree and started to develop on the speaking degree. Until they came to the state of ancient Babylon where the 70 nations of the world and Nimrod and Abraham together appeared, and we kept it going until today and we are the last generation, we have to feel proud that we are the first ones who can perform the general correction. 

14. S. (01:01:21) It is not exactly understood, you also told us that we build spirituality above corporeality and we also build it inside the will to receive, how to tie this into that?

R. This means that we are building the form of bestowal within the form of reception, we don't build a desire to bestow, a desire to bestow is the Creator. We receive from the Creator an intention of bestowal in order to bestow. Then a part of our desires which we clear up, which we turn into vacant space, meaning a space vacant of the intention to receive then we add to that an intention to bestow. The will to receive created by the Creator, gradually clears itself up  from the intention to receive and by the influence of the Creator which we call the light that reforms takes upon itself an intention to bestow. But the will to receive in it entirely remains, it is just gradually, bit by bit changing its intention from in order to receive to in order to bestow. The intention to receive is called corporeality and the intention to bestow is called spirituality.

15. S. (1:03:15) We spoke about the womb and the vacant space, now with our efforts in the ten what is that vacant space?

R. Space means will to receive, when it is called a vacant space it is vacant of the intention to receive and we want that in that desire the intention to bestow will be dressed over the desire to receive, and then another desire and so on and that is what it means that an embryo grows inside the great body to receive. Inside grows an embryo which is entirely the will to bestow.

16. S. (01:04:27) Who conceives in whom? I in him or him in me?

R. The Creator which is a desire with an intention to bestow or more accurately an intention to bestow that is clothed over the will to receive which we have restricted from the intention to receive and that is why the intention of bestowal can go there and replace the intention to receive. The desire remains the same desire. Then you will advance and grow correctly. If you start arguing and discussing all sorts of things that you are bringing up, this will create confusion and you will not advance, very simply. You have time during the day, go back to the lesson, listen to it again and again, nothing besides that. You will then see how sufficient that is for you.

18. S. (01:07:24) How can we identify the spark buried in the ego and how is the spark expressed externally?

R. The spark governs us, corrects us and that is what shines to us. It is a very small desire to the Creator who is attracting me to Him, that is the spark.

S. I've worked my whole life and never suffered too, I work and I enjoy the work.

R. You haven't done work that is against your ego, you always worked with your ego and the more you work with your ego the more you benefit and the more you feel that benefit inside your ego. Here you have to work against your ego and you need to receive fulfillment that is above your ego not inside your ego. That is why you are doing work and effort that is against your desire, against your ego. You have to connect with the friends and if you connect with them because they make you feel good it's not spiritual work, you are not making room in your ego so as to discover the Creator there, that vacant space that you build. You are not clearing up your desires to receive from the intentions to receive, pay attention to what we are studying. I'm telling you this is incorrect, you are not listening to what we are talking about. Listen to each lesson a few times.

S. Lately in the ten we've faced a great burdening?

R. I don't want to hear about that, everyone says that. You need to follow and to carry out what we are learning about in the daily lesson and that's it. If you don't go through the lesson at least one more time, preferably twice more, then it doesn't mean that you're absorbing it. Try more, I don't have more to say, I'm giving you everything. R. What kind of work, we've been talking about this all day, we're talking about the fact that we need to be connected in the ten and in our connection we need to discuss how much we want or don't want to be connected, how much we would like to be connected between us so we can make room between us so that in that center of the circle between us there will be a place vacant of each and every ones in order to receive. 22. S. (01:15:33) Why should we be careful about so that the Creator will conceive in us?

R. We should stay away from wasting time, meaning keeping track of our time of each and every moment, turning our days into juicy days that we are always inclined towards connecting to each other and connecting to the Creator. We need to mostly be aware, be cautious of wasting time. Turn time into the most important thing.

S. What is considered a waste of time?

R. That I don't feel my time with what I need to, I don't use it practically directed toward the goal practically and powerfully.

R. That you are going through the lesson and making certain that you go back to the things that were talking about in a practical way between you. That is a good question.

S. Walking today in the last generation is this different than what Kabbalists did before?

R. Yes, it is. They had different conditions in every generation and its people.

R. Against the will to receive means against the intention to receive not the desire to receive, the desire to receive itself is neither good nor bad - it is matter, substance, how do we use that matter in order to receive or in order to bestow that is the whole difference between corporeality and spirituality.

26. S. (01:21:26) You said that the Shatz and Gabai, they guide our morning in their role each day. I don't understand the role in the ten?

R. Shatz and Gabai, day by day they need to take care of their ten. Don’t call them Shatz and Gabai. They are the two people responsible everyday for taking care of the ten and on that assigned day they need to make certain that the group is in contact, that their connection will be for the sake of connection, for the sake of nullifying their ego and how they are going back to the lesson and implementing the lesson to take step after step to the correction. That is the role of those two people, you don't need to call them the Shatz and Gabai.

S. If there is a quarrel between the friends do they have to help them make up?

R. Possibly yes, the most important thing is to draw them towards spirituality, if you work on that you won't have time to fight with each other.

S. So where does all the hate appear if not through the quarrels?

R. The hate will appear above the corporeal fights, what quarrels do you have it is nothing there. 

S. One friend says something he gets hurt the other one wants to run away. We all have such things.

R. They need to first awaken the right treatment and the best treatment is to go back to the daily lesson.

S.. So it's not to hear the friends, it's to hear the lesson?

I don't even determine the topic of the lesson or the excerpts, I am given everything by students and I work according to the students. So I'm not pushing my method to you, my Kabbalah, my teaching, not pushing anything to you it all depends on the few people who help us all by forming and creating the lesson. That's about the lessons. About the money I have no idea, I get a salary just like everyone else in the organization who works in maintenance or what not. The same salary as everyone else. I might also complain that it's not enough, but what can you do? That is it, I have nothing else in this matter. If you have a problem with the organization you call them and talk to them. That is your business and no point turning to me with all of this as I have nothing to do with it. You first have to scrutinize things and then slander if you criticize you have to know about what because criticism even in thought if someone has a bad thought about the organization, by this you disconnect yourself from the surrounding light that exists in the organization towards everyone that is in it, so you can be in Bnei Baruch for many years but not benefit from the spiritual force that is in it and you would cry as much as you want. 

But if it comes along with the criticism then be very careful it is a shame that you are in the organization altogether because you're expecting to get something and you won't get anything on the contrary. If you're not advancing in the form of bestowal upon everyone it is not good, you need to scrutinize neutrally why I have such questions, where do they come from, maybe from lack of information maybe because I'm selfish and I can't do it otherwise, it is my born nature, the corporeal nature scrutinize and clarify it and you will see. As much as I know the people who are tending to the organization, to the servers. I know that they are people who put everything under meticulous critique, audit of everyone including the state audits. So I don't want to hear these questions, but you need to scrutinize it because a critical approach should be in favor of the organization coming from each person's ego otherwise it does you great harm, you great harm in your advancement.

Therefore the 10th part which Malchut has to be given in this way not in order to bestow but only in this way, you give money to the organization that promotes you into spirituality. He may understand and know to do everything, but he doesn't do this and if he doesn't do this part he is not advancing. It is not like it is written in some accountants office it is written spiritually if you paid the tithing or not, there for those who don't, don't exist in spirituality. The same goes for the congress, those who pay tithing all the time participate in the congress actively and he really is our friend. Those who don't pay their tithing may participate in the congress, but is not among the friends, both in corporeality and in spirituality, he could be a spectator from afar but he has no place in the connection between us. I am very sorry to hear there are veterans who speak that way, first they are hurting themselves, if you don’t do what is written then at least keep your mouth shut as by doing this you are dragging others along with you, you are burning your soul. The tithing is something that is customary in many groups and circles not just among kabbalists. It is written in the Torah many times about this. So I'm really sorry that people don't understand, but that they also laugh about it and speak to others about it not understanding what kind of flaw they are doing to their own soul.

R. No, we can't, how can we change intentions because we change it from in order to receive to in order to bestow and the intention to bestow itself is called faith above reason. It's a lack of understanding about the matter itself.

R. Correct, so what is the question?

S. If we don't have that feeling in the ten between the friends, how can we awaken it between the friends?

R. To perform a real act of bestowal and if we discover in the act of bestowal, the mutual bestowal between us if we have a relation to the Creator in it then accordingly it is possible that we will come to a state where we feel the response from Him. R. Of course you are lacking faith, everyone does because we are all only with an inclination, a disposition to acquire the power of faith. This our faith is the power of bestowal and no one really has the power of bestowal, we are only doing operations in order to acquire this force of bestowal and the force of bestowal comes to us through the reforming light a force that we are trying to awaken, a higher force that we are trying to awaken and it brings us the power of bestowal.

S. So my tendency is to draw the light gradually and there is hope?

R. Yes, of course there is hope even for you.

37. S. (01:57:05) When we in the ten raised MAN to the Creator, and egoistic prayer as we're all a collection of egoists, and He answers with MAD, which is bestow how do we grab this?

R. We feel changes that come as a result of our request.

S. Can we somehow try to not miss out on the answer?

R. You won't miss it if you act in the direction of bestowal, you won't miss it, I don't activate the force of bestowal, I want, I want, I want, want to activate the force of bestowal and you will see that this force comes to you.

38. S. (01:57:53) Sometimes you give us advice in the spiritual work and other times you talk about things that are more worldly in regards to the economy or covid-19 is all of this advisement to advance us spiritually?

R. Basically yes, but the main thing we learn is from the faith in the sages, from the sources, the Kabbalistic sources, what we learn there has to be for us as a means for attaining the upper light, attaining the Creator.

S. In order to pass the Machsom should I reach the bestowal into the friends or the Creator??

R. There's no such thing as either or I have to relate to both things as a friend's and the Creator as one, I can't slide 1 and 10 to the other, it is specifically through the friends that I get to the Creator as you cannot relate to the Creator any better than you relate to the friends. Specifically from love of people we get to the love of the Creator.

39. S. (01:59:38) Is it right to say that on the way to justify the Creator we have to justify the friends and the organization and the teacher?

R. For certain and this is why I'm sorry to hear that there are people who criticize with such words that they don't even care to scrutinise it they're just criticizing. If they sent questions and by that they would scrutinize what is going on that is different, but when they tell others this is called slander when they speak badly about the organization and they might be right, but that's not the way. By this they put others to them, weakening the others advancement towards the goal and this is why their punishment is very heavy and it is a shame that they are with us, I would just send these people out of the organization if they don't understand that these are the spiritual conditions and there's nothing corporeal herem it is all spiritual of course including the tithing. If they don't understand they should just leave. 

We work according to what the Kabbalists have for thousands of years, thousands of years have determined and explain to us, explaining it out of the spiritual Partzuf that we have to sustain and there's no question about relinquishing it even if they tell me to relinquish the tithing and millions of people will come to you, we don't need millions of people. Because if those millions come they won't enter spirituality and I don't need them. We don't need people who don't participate in everything that is needed, I can keep them because little by little though understand what they need to do, but in truth if they don't follow these conditions, these requisites it is a shame that they're here as better for them to stay outside and feel that they are outside. Then they won't have any thoughts that they are making any progress towards the goal because they are not advancing.

S. What degree or am I in spirituality if I justify them?

R. In order to enter spirituality you have to meet many conditions, it is love our friends, love of others, love of the Creator to some extent and all of those things you are together with them and lessons and activities, payments and maintenance for all of those activities and I understand that payment and money are seemingly worldly things, tithing is not worldly. No.

40. S. (02:03:27) How can we feel spiritual feelings?

R. First of all acquire the quality of bestowal and then you will feel the spiritual feeling, first connect to the friends, make room for the force of bestowal between you, so manifest and then you will start feeling the spiritual feelings between you and the relations between you so much so that you will feel that between you is also the Creator.

41. S. (02:04:08) Are the two actions of correcting the intention and the connection going together or first one or the other?

R. First connection and then correcting the intention according to the intensity of the connection.

42. S. (02:04:37) Regarding the first excerpt we read can you explain how this remedy works?

R. The remedy, merit is the reforming light that performs on us the Creator who shines upon us with his force of bestowal and then we by this we begin to approach spirituality in this way. When the upper light shines, it brings us a new understanding, new feeling and in this way we advance and this is called the remedy.

43. S. (02:05:39) How can we know that we are going with our eyes shut in the work and we're not lying to ourselves?

R. When you try to just be a copycat, like a donkey, it's written like an ox to the burden and a donkey to the load so exert like an ox and be as dumb as a donkey and then you get to the goal. Do everything the Kabbalists say because the ox and the donkey are really the forces that submit the will to receive and bring it to perform spiritual actions.

44. S. (02:06:33) Before the congress we want to have a spiritual attack of the ten, to be as congruent with spirituality, so no one detains another in the ten that we can make maximum effort, can we scrutinize the tithing in the ten, to understand if we all meet the conditions?

R. You have to discuss it in the ten. I'm not so certain when I'm saying this because the tithing it is each one's investment in his spirituality, his own spirituality. This is why I let's say this month I made 10 million dollars and I'm paying tithing $1000000 1/10 and I don't want my friends to know about this as we're still not in such relationships of bestowal and purity between us or such a connection between us that I can tell them about that. Then a different friend so he made a tiny little sum and he can hardly finish paying his bills that month but still he paid tithing, but he is embarrassed that he makes such a small amount and unsuccessful and how can we demand him to speak about the tithing now. Because what we need to do without determining any numbers, it's just to speak about the importance of paying tithing and that specifically comes from a spiritual matter that we can pay in a corporeal way.

S. We can talk about raising the importance of paying tithing before the congress?

R. Yes, but without looking at numbers and what everybody's salaries are and how much they owe, but before the congress you should clear out all of your debts with the tithing.

S. What other necessary conditions are there to be in the ten to enter a proper attack?

R. In corporeality we need nothing except for paying tithing because it's not corporeal, it is spiritual you're taking away from your will to receive that su  that you can't use in order to bestow, that is why you are giving it to a higher degree. As if the rest, the 9/10, except for the tithing you use it for things that are necessary for your life and this, you can't use it correctly in your life that is called the 10th part to the Creator as it is written in the Torah and many other sources.

S. Maybe besides the tithing there is also coming to the lesson every day?

R. But that we are constantly speaking about and Rabash writes about that as well, do you want me to write a new Torah, you want me to write the commandments again? You from the studies you need to know what you have to do.

S. We don't play stiff conditions before the ten everyone does what he can but maybe before the congress we should make an extra effort?

R. After Rabash died I started putting together the first ten, the first group, those people who came, we spoke about it, we connected between us with meals, with holidays and all kinds of things. Obviously we always had a mutual account and we paid the tithing that we gathered and we used to pay for our small home that we used to rent back then. Afterwards gradually we grew but I'm telling you all of those people who are criticizing society in anywhere or any place no matter what reason, in the end they disconnect and fall off. Those who go above reason on all of these things what the management tell them to do, they do with your eyes shut it just comes from above even if they don't understand, faith of a reason and they will advance. That is why all of this conversation on how to scrutinize and what does scrutinize you have to scrutinize one thing, how do we rise above our ego that is all. Especially before the congress. It hurts me a lot to hear that for this nonsense that we have to deal with now that we are not advancing correctly and we won't attain spirituality in the right way.

R.Obviously if we asked the Creator to advance then he will give us the forces to advance and along with that he also gives us coarseness that we feel some kind of problems and advancing that we can overcome them and again we will ask the force to advance and again with that forced to advance he will give us even more coarseness that disturbs us from advancing and connecting. In this way every time. This is called the degrees that we need to climb above them and one degree soon we will feel that these actions will be actions that add coarseness, the force of the screen, the coupling of striking and so on then we will start learning all of these spiritual actions upon ourselves.

46. S. (02:15:13) What do you do with hatred for a friend who broke the covenant that was signed in the ten?

R. You have to understand that everything that happens in the ten belongs to the whole ten and if a person or certain friend in the ten does something, some kind of bad action or makes a mistake or does something on purpose, that is the problem of the whole ten and we all need to work on it and correct it. All of us, good to take these things specifically towards the good that the Creator is awakening us for more connection and to advance in such a way.

47. S. (02:16:18) We always hear that we have to listen to the lesson again. What is the effort in the live lesson?

R. The effort is I want to annul myself and hear exactly what the teacher or the friends are saying in a way that is as objective as I can. It doesn't depend on my state, that is how I try to absorb the lesson or I absorb the lesson in the best way.

48. S. (02:17:03) Can we say that the mutual deficiency and question is how do we express the mutual deficiency in the ten?

R. A deficiency and the mutual question for the ten obviously the mutual question of the ten is the mutual deficiency of the ten and that has to be the prayer of the ten.

R. Yes.

50. S. (02:18:42) You said that spiritual work should be meticulous, there are states during the day where it is important intention, but we don't have the strength to keep it as we can't run to corporeality and we don't have the strength to bestow. What do you do in such a state?

R. Connect to the friends there can't be a state where you are alone, but in each and every state the Creator gives you some kind of place to advance to, I guess you don't have enough connection with the friends so check that first of all.

53. S. (02:25:47) Does spirituality have the same spiritual meaning for women as it does for men?

R. For us there's almost no difference between men and women which is why also women even though I don't know if they tell them to do it or not but also women must pay Maaser, tithing if they are intending to advance spiritually. If they are intending to correct their soul then paying Maaser tithing is a must, it is a part of all of the conditions we have to keep.

S. Besides the salary is there something else from what you have to pay maaser tithing?
R. That I don't know. They need to turn to the people who are in charge.

S. If you get a gift?

R. A gift, and inheritance anything whether comes from the salary of a workplace or any other place anything a person receives from what he just got one tenth of it has to be part of the spiritual advancement in such a way it is always for the group just as it was back then as it is written in Torah.

R. There is no such thing of tithing or necessities, first the tithing and then you use the money for whatever you want, without tithing you can't even touch the money that you get that is what is written. Even a guy that asks for change on the street, he has to give tithing first and then use the rest of the money he has. About that there aren't any doubts or questions or problems, it doesn't matter what you have or what you don't have, the tithing is the 10th part of the soul and that is what you have to do in about that there aren't any questions.

S. But if you haven't worked in two years what do you do?

R. Are you living?

S. I live here in Israel and I haven't worked in two years since the operations because I haven't been released, so what comes first for me - tithing or necessities?

R. What do you live off of?

S. Barely what the wife brings in and if I can sell something I have here to pay a bill I do.

R. If you live on the account of your wife you don't have to pay tithing.

S. But does it still hurt me because I'm not because I feel guilty that I am not.

R. No you don't need guilts because you don't do it. More than that we're not going into those calculations, but even a person who doesn't make a salary, but whatever he lives off of he has to pay tithing.

56. S. (02:32:20) The topics of the lessons in the congress on Saturday the broader circles come in discussing whether the topics would be suitable for more general circles?

R. You have to learn how to explain it and if you're asking don't explain anything yet. I guess we have people who know about it and are trained to do that and you need to ask them maybe you need to go through some kind of course on how to disseminate and explain and then do so otherwise you can ruin or spoil other people and yourself as well, be very careful with spirituality.

(02:34:00) A question from the congress team concerning the breaks in the congress; you said during the lessons we have two big breaks every day above about three and a quarter hours between the morning and evening lesson in the noon and the evening you said we need to keep the inner tension. So we're trying to think what should be happening at this time, what should a person do what should the ten do what should we give people, we don't want to overload people but then in physical congress has people used to be in 12 hours together in the same area come by the coffee place, or around the lawn, what should we be doing during these times?

R. You are engaging in this, you are dealing with it, you connect with them, you used to do something with them we can't do it virtually?

S. Yes, so we're checking options to create informal connections like at the big convention you can approach a friend from Japan or Chile to speak to them, maybe there's a group of friends who got together during the break so we're trying to find such options, there will be a music broadcast. How much time should we control and direct versus giving people time to do what they want?

R. I do not know and I don't want to know. I want you to think about what you are actually doing between you in order to keep the atmosphere, you keep increasing it, warming it, connecting the friends together as it is your work.

S. On a regular basis you recommend that we listen to the lesson again; at the congress we don't listen to the lesson again because everything is very tight so I guess here I guess we should let people hear excerpts, but not maybe complete lessons?

R. Maybe yes, just to create the atmosphere, to feel the warmth in connection from everybody in all kinds of ways.

59. S. (02:38:03) We learned today we need to strengthen each other above our ego so is there a daily action you would recommend to us to strengthen each other please?

R. Listen to the lesson, take out the important things from it whatever it's one thinks and then when you will do it already in the next break or then you can discuss what you heard in the lesson and that it seems important to you. This is how we can advance.
