Revoking the Partitions - Selected excerpts from the sources. #5

1. Rav’s introduction (0:22) The main thing for us is to revoke the partitions, that we will cancel what is between us and the Creator. The Kabbalists tell us that in order to revoke the partitions between us and the Creator, we need to revoke them between us, and to the extent that we can truly revoke them between us, between the created beings, to that extent we also revoke the partitions between us and the Creator. This is basically the whole matter of revoking the partitions and this is what we're working on. This is basically it, revoking the partitions means reaching adhesion, partial adhesion, full adhesion between people, between people and the Creator. In this way we're basically coming closer to a state where we're completely revoking the partitions between us and then by revoking them instead of the partition we feel a connection with the Creator.

Meaning the partitions themselves, they exist in order to show us to what extent we are still not adhered to the Creator, but close to Him. And that we need to try to acquire this craftsmanship of how we revoke the partitions, how do we come closer to the Creator, how we feel him more, and in this way we reach the purpose of creation. The purpose of creation is by adhering to each other “as one and man with one heart.” Accordingly, each one out of his adhesion adheres to the Creator and the adhesion of all the created beings with the Creator, this is called Gmar Tikkun, the final correction. How do we do it? Since we are the greatest egoists, then together with us, we reach adhesion to all of nature, together with us in the form of the still, vegetative, animate and speaking, everyone, everyone. This is the purpose of creation, the purpose of our corrections and so let's start to come closer.

2. S. (03:32) What are these partitions? Since in a normal person he doesn't feel like he has any partitions between him and others. There are other people I'm connected with them, we're both in the lessons, and different events and constantly we are participating in different things. What are these partitions and how do we define them, that this is the partition between us?

R. The partitions, it's when there's an absolute connection between people, when people do not differentiate between the fact that they're within themselves or within another. Then it is called that they cancel the partitions, the same thing regarding the Creator, are there some kind of distances there as well or not? Meaning when you're completely open towards another person and this is what it means that you open these partitions between you and him, or you and the Creator. We're going to read about this soon.

Reading Excerpt 5. (05:10) “Prior to being rewarded, inverting the desire…”

R. (08:07) Prior to being rewarded with inverting the desire to receive in us and in each one of us, through Torah and Mitzvot, meaning throughout all sorts of means that the Kabbalists are telling us what to do. Into reception in order to bestow, meaning that we correct our desire to receive. There are strong locks on those gates to the Creator, meaning that between us and the Creator there are gates. Meaning they are closed, not just closed but they have locks on them, special locks. For them they have the opposite rule, these locks to drive us away from the Creator, to reject us from iHm, this is why the forces of separation are called locks. Since they block the gates of approaching and drive us away from the Creator, but if we overcome them what does that mean to overcome them, so they do not affect us cooling his love from our hearts, meaning they won't block up our tendency toward the Creator, that we truly want to feel Him, to fill up.

Then the locks become doors, meaning that same place that was closed really tight and distancing us, it actually becomes the opposite, it opens and attracts, and the darkness becomes light, and the bitter becomes sweet, so overall, the locks we receive a special degree in His providence, meaning the lock rejects and resists, but if we overcome it, then specifically, we actually feel what's behind the lock. And they become openings, the darkness becomes light, and the bitter becomes sweet. Since overall the locks we received a special degree in this providence, meaning specifically out of all sorts of forces of rejection being there, instead of that we feel the opposite, that they attract us toward the Creator, receive us, embraces us, and these degrees become those of attainment of the Creator and these degrees that we receive an opening become halls of wisdom. Meaning that each and every degree becomes a source for a lot of light of Hochma, of wisdom.

3. S. (11:41) What is the key in us which opens up these locks?

R. Connection with the friends and the aspiration to the connection with the Creator, this is our key.

4. S. (12:30) How do we learn to cancel these partitions between us? How do we come closer to that?

R. It's possible if you want to revoke the partitions between you, that's it then you ask. Ask the Creator about this, but you need to think about this all the time.

S. Bitter and sweet has one root? How do they invert?

R. It's the same force which can be either in the negative way or in the positive way depending on how we desire to reveal it.

5. S. (13:27) Is there a reason why the locks appear to a person at a specific time?

R. It could be that, yes, but we don't know why in the meantime.

S. If the feeling of the locks, it's really an extended time and after turning to the ten, and the prayers, and everything, what else can a person do to break that lock?

R. We need to understand that it's because we are still, we still have not reached the right desire to connect between us and the Creator.

6. S. (14:14) What are these special degrees which become entrances, in attainment?

R. This is our ego which constantly raises in us, in our ego raises above others and we need to look for connection with others.

7. S. (14:49) In the ten there's a lot of friends that feel these gates. In the extended suffering we came to a conclusion that our ten needs to do something together to open up this pipe of light for tens that are in question. One certain friend feels suffering in the ten, is that their personal work that they're not doing or something the whole ten needs to do?

R. It's both, the personal and the collective, both this and that, but we need to understand that without us revoking all the partitions we won't reach the feeling of the Creator or the revelation of the Creator.

8. S. (15:43) These partitions that we talked about, there's something that we don't need to remove but we just need to fix. Question: why if we see these locks, why is it easier for us to hide in our ego than to break through. Is it correct to break through? The shame seems to stop us, and you're not worthy of moving forward, and there's something unclear here. Do we, nonetheless, need to break these locks and enter or to ask only for correction?

R. We need to ask for correction incessantly, not stopping for a moment, all the time to think about this and all the different variations and then it will quickly happen.

9. S. (16:55) Does every individual, before realizing it, must we imagine how we imagine something industrial that over counts all these distances?

R. As much as we're capable, nonetheless, there needs to be some emotional, intellectual picture, both emotional and intellectual in each and every one of us of how we use the partitions.

10. S. (18:01) What is that instrument in which inverts the will to receive to the will to bestow?

R. The light, the upper light.

11. S. (18:25) These locks, they are inside of a person, right? These forces that separate a person, but having, not believing that is a gate right?

R. Yes, yes.

S. The lock, it becomes so when a person recognizes it, but beforehand it's simply a wall which doesn't even exist to a person, maybe doesn't even feel these partitions, his limits. So why does this period exist when a person doesn't even recognize the existence of this lock? That person dies without attaining anything?

R. Don't worry about all this, it all exists for a specific reason so we need to nonetheless, try if we received already in this life, in our world, the feeling that we are under the influence of a concealment then we need to try nonetheless, to reach revelation.

12. S. (20:01) In Columbia we're still in the morning time and now we're connecting to the lesson and with you and the group. We're imagining ourselves corrected, does that help us to overcome all the locks?

R. Of course, yes. This is how we need to do it.

Reading Excerpt 6. (20:45) “Rabash writes,"Sometimes you come across…”

13. S. (24:25) What does it mean to make a covenant with the Creator for us? For the ten?

R. It means that you all together and your ten want to be in complete connection with the Creator and to never separate from Him. Meaning first you need to connect between you and then with the Creator and in this connection between all of you and the Creator it needs to be constant, clear?

14. S. (25:13) Even if the two of them have a partition, a separate partition, that stops the love between them, nonetheless, they take upon themselves not to depart from one another. I wanted to ask, even if I feel a lock on my heart now and at the same time there's a feeling that behind this door that there truly is love and it didn't disappear anywhere, so then this lock is as if it stops. How do we say, can we say that the Creator is knocking on the stony heart, how do we overcome this sensation of love?

R. Try to approach it from below, try to somehow circumvent it.

15. S. (26:52) How do we overcome the force of separation, not letting it rule us?

R. First wanting to activate our forces between us and the Creator. We're not acting against something, we just want to activate the force of connection between us.

16. S. (27:56) What is that desirable time and how is it expressed, and what is the difference between the desirable time and when it's not a desirable time?

R. When we reach a state that we want to be connected between us to give space for the Creator to connect with us then everything that we feel that there is certain upliftment on our end, we call that Eiter Ratzon this desirable time and we need to use that time in a more beneficial way as possible.

17. S. (28:51) If there are locks means that the Creator is freeing us and this lock necessarily needs to be there. What do we do to feel that this is something that guards us and not something that disturbs us.

R. Act, work further and you'll see that it's all for you, only for you.

18. S. (29:43) The partitions, these are the uncorrected connections between us that we need to correct?

R. Yes.

S. These are the qualities of the friends in which we need to reveal and to attach to us?

R. Yes.

S. In our connection, right?

R. Yes.

19. S. (30:30) Can we say that when there's a lot of left, then the locks are locked up?

R. Yes.

20. S. (31:11) This covenant with the friends and the covenant with the Creator, is this the same action or the same degrees?

R. Yes.

S. When I make a guarantee for the friends this is the connection with the Creator?

R. Yes.

21. S. (31:53) We learned that the making of the covenant between two people it's in one person giving presents to another. We see it in the Torah that they're all kinds of covenants. When I make a covenant with the Creator what do we feel, how do we feel the Creator is obligated toward us? I feel like I'm obligated toward Him, to love Him, to adhere to him. What do I feel that He is giving me when I'm in a covenant with Him?

R. You ask just for the forces to cover you, to help you, to be in adhesion with the Creator, more than that you don't ask for.

S. I's a one-way type of engagement?

R. No, no it's not a one way, but rather if you ask for more it will be in order to receive. Think about that, there are no precise words here, but you already understand.

22. S. (32:05) I don't understand what covenant we can hold onto when the desire to receive increases, so what covenant will hold us when it grows?

R. This, too, I need to ask for from the Creator, for Him to guard the covenant.

S. What does it mean to guard the covenant, the will to receive grows, right?

R. The Creator will guard it, so I will nonetheless, remain in the making of the covenant.

S. So when the desire grows and we feel ourselves separated from each other, where is the covenant?

R. The moment that I feel that there can be between us some kind of rift, then I open a prayer to the Creator and He gives me strength to block up this rift.

S. So the rift is expressed in the force of the prayer?

R. Yes, it's the force of adhesion that I get from Above.

23. S. (34:19) It's written here, that as much as a person starts to work and if he already has the love for the Creator, otherwise, who will be that reason that he receives that burden of the Kingdom of Heaven? We learn that the ego can push us towards accepting the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven.

R. No, it's not the same ego to accept to take upon himself the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven, meaning to accept the Creator's Providence in everything and everything. To accept it upon ourselves, it means to aspire only towards bestowal and not to have a single question about oneself.

S. So if now the person feels this way, that he's ready to take upon himself the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven, this means that he has the love for the Creator in respect of the fact that tomorrow it could all disappear?

R. It doesn't matter what's tomorrow. The main thing is that a person judges oneself in the current moment and each moment knowing our nature, he acts specifically in this way.

24. S. (35:53) What is the covenant that I want to make with the Creator?

R. It could be without love to the Creator because the covenant it obligates.

25. S. (36:15) Is the willpower personal or is it of the ten? Does it come from the Creator?

R. The force of the desire comes from the Creator as a source of everything of both good and bad and we just need to know how to use every single force.

S. So desire - is it willpower?

R. I didn't understand.

S. Is the desire, when we say desire, it also has that force, that impulse from a person?

R. Yes.

26. S. (37:44) How do I make a covenant between us like our forefathers did? Since our generation, in that generation is really different?

R. No one's telling you to be in the height of the forefathers, but according to the same laws we need to operate.

27. S. (38:16) Yesterday we were talking about how to revoke the partitions in the ten. We read articles of Rabash, there was such a question: what can we do with this new state of ours? We go through these lessons for a few days already. How to revoke these partitions if our situation changes very sharply, what can we do?

R. You need to not pay attention to the changing states, but more and more to read and to aspire forward and gradually the right relations will take form into everything in you, so don't worry right now about what's happening to you, the main thing is more and more to read and be in connection between you, this is the main thing. It's written about this, less is better, meaning it's better to read less and to do less but for this to be in the right connection between you. It's according to, similar, to how you can go in the right path towards the purpose a little bit, just a few meters or you can run into the incorrect road and it will seem to you, it'll seem how many kilometers you passed but in truth you're already deviating to the side somewhere.

28. S. (40:43) Why does the Creator not make a covenant with our ten where we really want to be in the covenant between us and the Creator.

R. What ten are you speaking of? There's just three of you there.

S. Not everyone is opening their cameras.

R. Well, this is not good. Someone's not coming, someone's without a camera, someone is hiding somewhere, this is not good. So what are you telling me? This is all speaking of the fact that you don't have a strong group which is adhered between each other, so correct yourself.

S. So when we connect the Creator will form a covenant with us?

R. I'm not promising you, but this will already be a different situation.

29. S. (41:50) From this lesson I see that the force that separates us and connects us is basically, it's the same force, it's the force of the Creator's love.

R. Yes.

S. When I try to direct it towards myself, so then I want to stop having relations with the Creator for Him to love me, if everyone does so then it separates us, but when I direct this force to the friends in the ten or to Bnei Baruch in general, when I want Him to love the friends, for Him to give them the light for everything, to be good for them, if everyone thinks in this way, this actually brings us together. It's the same force, it's just the action, it either separates or brings closer.

R. That's absolutely correct. It depends just on us.

30. S. (42:52) I have a question, but first of all I want to talk about Natasha's ten from Kyiv 7. This is a ten that was separated throughout the whole world due to the action between Ukraine and Russia and they've made good efforts to remain as a ten, and it's simply a huge example of true heroism. Thank you and now a question, Rav?

R. No, I'm not allowing you a question, hold it back a little bit it's healthy.

31. S. (43:34) The Arvut between man and the Creator and we say that it's comes from a mutual demand, I want to give contentment to the Creator and He wants to also bestow contentment to me, so out of this mutual demand, love comes out, can we say that, so it's the Kli, that bridge, that covenant is our Kli?

R. Yes, of course, excellent.

S. Can we also say that it's like a man and a woman, we have a romance with the Creator and I tell the Creator it will be good days, it will be bad days, it will be healthy days, it will be sick days, but I will never abandon you. No matter what happens we are together?

R. That's correct.

32. S. (44:52) Yesterday you recommended for us to think about how to conceal our ego. Question, when we don't have that screen, the covering, then the Creator is concealed in order not to cause harm to us. How can we conceal ourselves from Him? Who has the strength to conceal oneself from the Creator? How can we even do such a thing, what is that concealment?

R. We will go through this, if a person wants to conceal himself from the Creator he can, he simply just doesn't want to be in connection. We'll talk about this, it's still a little bit early.

33. S. (45:48) Concerning the question from the previous friend, the text says twice that separation which are partitions. What does it mean that there's a partition from here, is it between the created beings and the Creator? How do we overcome it?

R. If it's a partition between the created being and the Creator we can do it only through the friends. We can overcome it only through the friends. It's the network through which I need to connect to the Creator, it's in the connection between the friends.

34. S. (46:58) I feel inner locks but also there's collective ones in the ten. Does each one feel his personal locks before he feels the general ones of the ten?

R. Correct that's how it is.

S. How can we overcome the locks, these general ones, from the moment we start to recognize them?

R. It's just by us all together praying to the Creator. Together we turn to the Creator and to ask of Him to revoke the partitions.

35. S. (48:40) Can I already say that I am experiencing the covenant to some degree, it’s felt as an eternal desire to an unyielding want to achieve this, to press on, in advance, am I feeling the covenant in this way?

R. Not yet but it's the beginning.

36. S. (49:22) We learned that the key to open the locks is the connection between us and the ten and in the meantime we're not succeeding and canceling the partitions in the ten. How does the experience, the attempt on a daily basis allow the Creator to open up those locks?

R. It's all in all, through the connection between us, there's nothing special here; as much as we connect by that we open up the locks.

S. Is it in order to reach an outcry, is that the path, because we're not succeeding?

R. Yeah okay, so try more and more and more and more until you will reach an outcry.

37. S. (50:26) It is written that if we place a lock on the Creator's will this is a lock, who's the first one to enter a key into this lock?

R. We need to always be first.

38. S. (50:55) The pact with the Creator is to feel that all His joy is in wholeness. How does the small unite with the big and how do we feel Him?

R. It's like in our world there are great people according to the place, or education, or salary, or according to all kinds of things, and then they're like little children who gave birth, so what of it, there is no problem, the main thing is to feel that we are in one family.

39. S. (51:51) If a friend has an opposing opinion or if I have an opposing opinion with a friend does that mean I still have not accepted the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven?

R. Of course, of course.

S. How does it work, anyone of my oppositions, it means that I have not yet accepted that burden?

R. Yes, yes, well you're an egoist, so it's not so bad, so you'll still get this opportunity.

40. S. (52:40) Can a person hide his desire to receive from the Creator and is this called the restriction and nullification towards Him?

R. You cannot hide anything from the Creator and if you think about hiding anything from the Creator it already speaks about the great corruption of yours.

41. S. (53:16) What is a personal correction of a person if he's suffering so much, how can he know what more he needs to do if he's not doing enough?

R. He needs to love the friends and to love the Creator. That's it, he doesn't have to know or to do anything else.

42. S. (53:50) I don't understand. It's not so clear about love in general, we don't know what that is and here it's talking about love to the Creator. I understand that it's such that love, it's what moment can we say that love to the Creator it cools? It's not talking about love here but a certain yearning or is it love?

R. Love is an understanding, something that exists from zero up until infinity, so I cannot quite express it with words, but we need to understand that the connection between the complete open heart, it brings us to love.

Reading Excerpt 7. (54:54) “Great preparation is required…”

43. S. (56:45) What to do if I see that the friend has the lock, what can I do about it, what do you do with this, it’s not clear?

R. What do I do with you, I'm just explaining to you what's written in the books and not more than that. Where do you see that I'm doing something with you, that I'm manipulating something in you or something?

S. Well, you are influencing us in a certain way, you see our limits and somehow you know something. How can we help each other when there's a lock that a person cannot exit this prison.

R. But if the friends relate to him as oneself and want to relate to him, then they help him and in the same way I relate to all of you, but if you think that it's otherwise, then it's worse for you.

44. S. (58:07) The entire article left an impression that our relationship has to be with the Creator, the relationship with a friend, and the relationship with the Creator, and that's what we constantly need to be focused on. Each and every one of us strives to connect correctly with the friend, then we will reach this goal quickly.

R. Yes, that's correct.

S. We have the prayer, then the prayer then is for us to recognize that the friend is a gift that we use, that has been given to us from the upper to reach the goal.

R. Yes, I agree. I don't see any question here.

45. S. (59:38) Question from a friend, no strength to be in the afternoon lesson and she has all sorts of problems and the family is not studying and she cannot turn on her camera right now, but she's asking is it desirable for her to come to the lesson even if it's with a closed camera?

R. It's better to participate in the lesson even with a closed camera.

S. Regarding those inner locks, is there a state where we feel them as general locks or do we feel these locks within our soul, even though we don't feel it directly?

R. Yes, and all sorts of different forms do we feel these locks, but there's nothing to be afraid about because the moment we feel the locks we need to be careful that through the connection between us we break all the locks. I'm hugging you all and until tomorrow.
