Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 1. Part 1.

Inner Observation. Chapter 1. Item #8

Reading Item #8: “The whole of reality was emanated and created with a single thought. It is the Operator; it is the very operation; it is the sought-after reward, and it is the essence of the labor.”

1. R. (00:42) Everything is followed in a single thought.

Reading Continued. (00:46) “Before we delve into the explanation....”

2. S. (03:12) What was it said about that in thought there is the essence for the efforts for the reward? How can we combine it all in one thought?

R. Because that is the source of everything.

S. How from that there are contradictions?

R. We will learn this next but look at the headline in one. The whole of reality was emanated and created with a single thought. It is the operator, it is the very operation, it is the sought-after reward, it is the essence of the labor. Meaning, that in the thought of Creation which emanates from the Creator by which he fills all of creation inside this thought of creation, you find everything from the very beginning to the very end and on all its forms and all the movements, in every shape and form.

S. My efforts and my reward, does that belong to the same thought?

R. No, we're not talking about you, we're talking about the Creator, the light. The light that stems from the Creator and builds all of creation.

S. The reward, who is that ascribed to?

R. Also the reward is found inside this light, and it awakens all kinds of actions in the created being and it also fills the created being.

Reading Item #8 Again: (05:33) “The Whole of Reality Was Emanated....”

3. R. (07:29) Yes. It's called the Light of Ein Sof.

Continue reading: (07:31) “Thus you can judge and perceive…”

4. S. (08:27) Can we scrutinize everything that seems like many things to us? It’s only one thing actually?

R. Yes, yes.

5. S. (08:49) How can one aim his thoughts towards the Creator?

R. Only with the help of the society, with his connection with the friends.

Reading Item #9: (09:22) “The Matter of the Restriction...” Twice

6. R. (13:51) Meaning besides this thought, the thought of creation we have nothing. We live in it, we exist in it, and it includes everything, it surrounds us and wraps us on all sides.

7. S. (14:13) What is the essence of the exertion?

R. The essence of the exertion of the labor is the work above our nature.

8. S. (14:32) He says that my thoughts are not your thoughts, so how do we have to relate to that it is one thought?

R. Let us hope that ultimately it will be revealed in us.

S. Should we search for it in the ten in any way?

R. Yes, just as we learned, of course. With the help of our actions in the ten and connection and the growing connection between us, we will discover it.

9. S. (15:19) It says that my thoughts are not your thoughts, so we learn that all our thoughts come from the Creator. How can we say that our thoughts are not His?

R. Yes, but in addition to that He has other thoughts, not those that come to us. That is why our entire work is to rise to Him and to equalize with Him in our thoughts, our desires, our actions, and anything possible with the Creator.

10. S. (16:23) From all the thoughts that are not ours, we are building our mutual state and from that state, we can feedback on the right thoughts. What are we feeding, creation?

R. Yes.

S. How to combine those actions at the same time? On the one hand, we need to feed the creation, on the other hand, to keep building that state. What is it, right and left? Does it belong to each other?

R. No, let us not get confused. We will keep moving forward and see how this is done. Don’t imagine all kinds of imaginations.

11. S. (17:25) He writes Maker of light and Creator of darkness. What is the difference between making and creating?

R. Create means creation Beria, something that was not there before and Yetzer is forms, meaning, something that existed before in some other form.

12. S. (18:05) It is written that in one thought the whole world was created in all of creation. We know that the thought is a realization of the desires. Does that belong to the Creator too? Is it actually the implementation of his own desire to bring good to his created beings?

R. Yes.

S. He writes what’s emanated and created, what does it mean emanated?

R. Through the world of Atzilut emanated and created through the world of Beria. Atzilut, Beria, Assiya, and Yetzira.

13. S. (18:58) He writes that you shall judge and perceive this entire reality, upper ones, and lower ones as one in its final state of the end of corrections emanated and created with a single thought. The question is, to what extent do we need to scrutinize that?

R. Whatever was given to a person according to the root of his soul.

14. S. (19:40) They allowed me to ask from here because we do not have enough cameras in the room. About the single thought, if a person will constantly be in the thoughts about that one thought, how far it is or how unattainable it would be for him, and to yearn for that one thought to constantly be in those thoughts. How will that influence a person, how will the Creator give him the yearning for that thought? How can that influence his inner work in the group, in the ten, and in his individual work?

R. He needs to scrutinize it, to know about it, and not to just base everything on one sentence but to scrutinize it and to know it.

S. I mean is it possible to build this inner connection with this thought?

R. We are not dealing with psychology or philosophy. We are only engaging in direct orders that come from above and we realize them in the connection between us.

S. Maybe I will ask differently: What is the connection between the thought that is ascribed here in our state today, is there any connection between them?

R. No connection. If we start implementing this then we will discover a connection and we will be able to know it.

15. S. (21:53) I hope the question is correct. It says that the thought of creation is also the essence of the labor, but the labor is our work. How can the Creator's thought include the labor?

R. That is how it is revealed. That's how it is revealed.

S. Meaning the expression we received, the expression and the thought of Creation in the form of our labor?

R. Yes.

16. S. (22:30) The article says the thoughts of the Creator and the ways of the Creator are different from us. What is the relationship between our vessels and the thought of the creation? Is it that because our vessel is reception, that is why we cannot feel the thoughts of the Creator? The only thing we need to change is the quality of the vessel by restricting it and having the intention that is similar to the thought of the Creator?

R. Correct, correct.

17. S. (23:28) The Creator is “One, unique and unified” and we try to reveal Him in the ten. Does that mean that there shouldn't be any friend who has separate qualities, but we have to reach a feeling in the ten as one unique and unified, that will be the revelation of the Creator and the reward?

R. Yes, in this way, we come closer to the revelation of the Creator by bringing the friends each closer in our heart, so in the heart of each one we have a combination of the qualities of all the friends, and those qualities we call Creator.

18. S. (24:46) In item nine it says that the first restriction is most severe. Why is it so severe?

R. Because it is what sliced between the Creator and the created beings that is why it is severe. It closed off the Creator from the created beings, but afterward, there are dangers on the restriction that we can overcome and enter contact with the Creator and by that reaches revelation towards the created beings.

S. Meaning above it is our work?

R. Yes.

19. S. (25:46) What is he trying to say, that the thought is one, not two, not ten? What can we learn from it, that it is one?

R. That except for one intention, one relation from the Creator to the created being, to bring them to identify with Him. That is why he created them in a completely different way.
