Baal HaSulam. Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #4

Reading Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #4

1. S. (05:27) In the beginning of the excerpt how can we read, how can we see towards the end of the action?

R. That's what he says here that in order to understand everything you have to see what the result will be, then you will know why it exists, how it exists, for what purpose, and that you can understand it, but if you don't see the end of something so you cannot understand the action itself and then to begin with you go into it blindly.

S. What is the end of correction, the purpose of creation?

R. After you study everything and you go through everything you reach the end of creation.

S. So until then there is no purpose to clarify anything?

R. You take your questions and scrutinize the question is right, it's the right desire but you don't have the vessels to scrutinize it, you don’t. Where can you explain to a child that starts first grade about things he’s going to study in 10th grade let’s say. Obviously not.

S. So the matter is where a person has to decide.

R. A person has to develop in order to understand his own questions that he doesn't understand yet. Then there’s questions, how they exist in creation, how to open those questions towards creation correctly so through them he can understand where he is, what's going on, and also understand what the response and the answer is from nature–that he actually might get answers but he might not hear them.

S. How not to be of the wise ones that he speaks about?

R. Those are the ones that don't have vessels yet to understand correctly but still they have a desire to understand but they don’t know how to use it correctly.

S. And the vessels they acquire only through work?

R. To acquire vessels there's no other way to do it, no other possibility but following the advice of the Kabbalist that tell us how to do it. Only through the connection between us.

2. S. (08:18) The whole world is searching for the purpose of creation and Einstein also said that the Creator doesn't play unless there's a purpose and only the Kabbalists are discovering this and the question exists and no one has an answer.

R. There are many methods and theories and a lot of wise people millions in the world that want to discover the essence of creation, the purpose of creation, the process, the purpose, but they take these things from their brains from what they discover on their own, and what they discover it seems to them it’s something right because they discovered it, that here it's true, it's before you, they write about it, they speak about, it but none of them can tell them whether it's right or not because in order to find out whether it's correct or not to they have to be on a higher degree of this world. That's why Kabbalists answered simply: let us ascend to the degree above this world, and it's possible by ascending above our nature. In our nature we are all egoists, we'll rise above that above our ego and then and according to that we’ll understand a higher nature, the nature of the Creator, and from that we can understand what we need to do in order to attain Him and everything will be clear about creation.

S. It’s a kid who has a mess in his toys, in his blocks, and he tries to do everything to understand that he’s incapable. Then ask of his father, come show me what this complete puzzle looks like.

R. Too bad, too bad. I do not think that from wisdom you can get more and more confused for endless years because we won’t be able to take those blocks and put together the structure of the upper world, that conducts us, and gives birth to us, and so on. We can't jump above our own nature, that’s why we just need to hear the advice of the Kabbalists. If you want to understand what’s going on you have to attain the upper force that’s above you that has an opposite quality of you, the quality of the bestowal. Try to reach that quality and then you'll understand the upper one, you’ll understand what He’s doing, how He created you, and for what.

3. S. (11:53) How do we calibrate our desire or our intention to give, to become like the Creator with our mind, and whatever is within our desire to receive.

R. We’re learning according to the wisdom of Kabbalah what that relation is between lights and vessels and we try to come closer to those relations and that is how we start knowing what a vessel is and what the light is and what the relation between them is. That’s it.

Reading item 5 (12:57)

4. S. (15:02) If, to show a person, let’s say a person off the street, the purpose of creation, what will it give him in life, the understanding of this final point?

R. I don’t know. What will I give him? He’ll enjoy life more or less. I don't know what a simple person needs this for if he does not have a desire to begin with of his own that came from the bottom of his heart it will not give him anything. He needs to feel inside what we call the point in the heart, that without this knowledge there is no reason to live everything is empty, nothing gives him anything, no explanation why he exists, why he’s alive, what he has to do in life, and what is this whole life for anyway, meaning he drowns in this abyss of indifference because he has such a desire that hides inside of him.

S. What do I even exist for and I have no answer. This abyss, it reveals not only within a person of a point in the heart, it reveals in the masses.

R. He discovers masses in the general public of people who have no answers for the purpose of life.

S. So this is what I'm saying, so how to approach the masses and explain the benefit of this final point of understanding?

R. Only we can explain to people what they exist for because the rest, it’s just to shut their mouths, meaning not to give them a true answer but just like, you know, just to reject them. The wisdom of Kabbalah, even though it’s not simple, it tells a person who created him and for what purpose.

S. Why was he created, how to explain to him to reach the final point?

R. For him to reach the degree of the one who made him.

S. What does it mean to reach the level of his maker?

R. It means to uplift above all limitations. To see the world from one end to the other, through all worlds, through everything, so you understand nature to all its depth until the tiniest particle to feel it all inside of him, that you embrace all of this, you include everything inside you and you have no limitations, not time, not place, not motion, nothing, not anything. We need to exit this limited world we’re in and our entire existence is only made for us to come out of it and we have to invest our efforts in this in order to overcome it.

5. S. (19:12) The Creator created billions. Really, the individuals he gave the understanding of the essence, so what is the purpose of the [...]?

R. They incorporate in all of those individuals and they help them and in this way everyone reaches it.

S. How do they help if they do not even understand, they don’t know about it?

R. They don't know they do not need to know they help mechanically.

S. In what stage a person that does ask about the purpose begins to feel the purpose and not just understand it or know about it?

R. In the stage that he performs his actions directed towards connection.

6. S. (20:14) It says to understand everything to attain everything we need to contemplate the end of the action. So how can we bring each other in the end of the action to be able to contemplate this?

R. The end of an action is that we all connect together as one man with one heart into one created being called Adam HaRashon and we reach it with all of our experience in the descent from Ein Sof downward and from ascending from below upward to Ein Sof.

S. How do we contemplate this if we’re not there yet?

R. We are not there yet because we do not understand at all what it means to be connected.

S. So what could be the help to start contemplating it correctly?

R. That gradually we are drawn into connection because the only thing that depends on us is the action of connection and as much as we are drawn and we come closer to that action and we implement it we start understanding in our minds, feeling it in our feelings what is actually happening with us, and in this way we start incorporating with the purpose of creation.

7. S. (22:12) Final understanding in the attainment is that on the intellectual side or on the emotional side?

R. The end of an action is an emotional form that everything will be felt in the vessels of reception. that they will all be in order to bestow, and in that way they will all be connected into one big vessel with one great light that fills them.

8. S. (22:56) Is the purpose of creation to acquire personal [...]

R. The purpose of creation is that every created being will connect to all the other  created beings and then they will be in the same intensity as a Creator who created them and they will connect to Him all together, and in such a state they will all be able to incorporate in them all the lights of Ein Sof that will fill them without any limitations.

S. You mentioned yesterday in the lesson that the light in the final correction will be 613 times stronger from what was in the initial creation, so that means that we create such a strength of life because the system upgrades itself through us?

R. Yes.

9. S. (24:16) I heard from you that mechanically they help us, these simple people, regular people. We know that there are organs who are controlled by the head, by the brain. Do we need to act from certain needs of theirs to allow them to help them realize their role in helping us mechanically?

R. I guess you need it, I don't know what to say. I guess you need it, you need to interest them to show them purposes that they can understand the sources for them that they can implement them, and in such a way help the world advance towards that same exalted purpose.

S. They don't need to understand the whole picture completely, it’s enough for them to just understand the realization of their needs

R. Each one understands until that level that his records develop and his heart can perceive, so in that way we need to work with ourselves and the others.

10. S. (26:00) It is written that we have said that we need to look upon the final action and then everyone everything will clarify, for example, do not show a fool a job half done, how to perform this thing in our job, in our work?

R. That you are not allowed to explain to a person things that he cannot digest and it will just confuse him but only to explain to a person what interests him and will push him ahead, even if it is one little step but he will advance, and in this way you have to relate to each and every person.

S. The fool, is it us before the attainment of the upper world?

R. No, it's each and everyone that is still in such a state.

11. S. (27:21) I never understand why Rabbi Elazar says when he says how ugly you are?

R. What do you mean? How ugly the egoist is that he meant?

S. Yes, so why ugly?

R. Because he is an egoist, he has nothing good in him, none, nobody.

12. S. (28:08) How to ignite a desire of someone else towards connection?

R. That’s an art. To think, what does that person want, and to try to connect what he wants to the purpose of creation. Not something far something close to him and in this way you can draw him to there.

13. S. (28:40) What is it called that the ten has prepared itself for the lesson in the reading to read The Book of Zohar?

R. Again.

S. What does it mean that the ten has prepared itself or how to prepare the ten for the lesson in which we read The Book of Zohar?

R. You have to read about the praise of The Book of Zohar, how to enter it deeper into the book, what is the book drawing us towards, and in this way it will be important to engage with this book, to deal with it. We are reading the main part of the wisdom of Kabbalah now that was written over 2,000 years ago and all the Kabbalists used to study it so that more importance to the lesson that we’re in.

14. S. (29:45) Yesterday I heard that there needs to be pressure in the ten. We spoke about it and we tried to create the state but other than the concern that was raised in a conversation it wasn't felt that we were able to realize this pressure in our hearts. What were we missing?

R. Importance. Importance.

15. S. (30:15) There are states where you are in gratitude to the Creator for wanting to bestow to the group, you appreciate the spiritual work, you do not care about the end result, but there are states where you do not want any pleasures and you do not even understand why you were born. What is the difference between these two states and where do we aim ourselves?

R. When you don’t want anything at all that is the most neutral state that you’re just, shake it up, it's hard to understand what’s above and what's below and when you understand that you don’t need anything from this life and it would be better not even to be born and when will all this end, then it’s a state of awareness that is good and for sure will bring you to the right decision that you have to live and attain the purpose of life.

16. S. (31:45) I'm not even sure how to say this, lately I’m feeling that the system is pushing us more than we want to advance ourselves, is this correct?

R. So what?

S. And I feel ashamed that I am not doing enough.

R. Because we’re a lot of people and each one pushes the system and that’s why each one feels as much as he pushes the system it’s nothing compared to what the system is pushing him, because it is a result of many participants. That’s why it’s good that that’s what we feel.

S. What can I ask for in this state?

R. What can you ask for in this state? Connection with everyone love towards everyone and adhesion to the Creator, that we’ll feel Him like a baby feels himself on the mother's hands. Try and feel that, that just like you hold, let’s say, your grandson on your hands what he feels and then you’ll feel the same in the hands of the Creator and the Creator is actually all of humanity all humans that will be connected together in the end of corrections, Gmar Tikkun, that’s how you will feel them that everyone feels you on their hands.

17. S. (33:54) From this fifth item, it follows that a person needs to consider himself noble and worthy creature and everything that he sees as bad he can say that this is the Creator?

R. It is all the Creator and on purpose for us to start correction ourselves and creation we attain creation only through correcting it.

S. And we say what, that we have to consider ourselves as the lowliest the most uncorrected? Can I ask Him to correct what He has broken?

R. No, no. I see what is corrupted in the world according to the measure of my corruption, that’s how you are supposed to look at it, and gradually you attain that everything is in a completely corrected state in love all connected in mutuality with the ideal creation with Creator Himself filling creation. Please be healthy. I'll see you in a few hours, and prepare yourself goodbye everyone I'm hugging you see you in the afternoon.
