M. Laitman: (00:55) There is an upper force, the Creator — the desire to bestow who exists from the beginning – this is called the upper nature. It created an opposite nature, a second nature, the nature of the will to receive. And He did it because the created beings have to go from one nature to another in order to feel who are they and who is the Creator. And decide and be in these two forms since only in this way can they feel reality. If they only feel reality, the reality of the Creator, they will be a part of Him, completely; if they live in the opposite way, they'll never know the true reality, the Creator. And that the reality of the will to receive is something He created only so they would have discernment, what to compare when they come to the Creator. Therefore, the created beings, their work is gradual. It's to go from the force of reception, called reason, to the force of faith, called above reason. And anything they feel, they feel between those two states. Between the will to receive, their will to receive that the Creator created artificially, so they would exist disconnected from Him, so they would have existence. They would have discernment, the feeling of self-existence. They exist in their feelings, their mind, all kinds of actions they can perform. And together with that, they can choose if they want to be without limitations in understanding and feeling and seeing their existence – unlimited, like the Creator. So, in order to be both a created being and on the degree of the Creator, we have to be included of these two qualities. One is called reason, our will to receive and what we feel in it; and the second one is called above reason, the will to bestow that we need to acquire, which is the quality of the Creator. And this is how we need to exist, although we are born, we develop, within reason, in the will to receive alone. Meaning there is a sense that develops in us, what is good for me?

M. Laitman: (04:37) What is good to me? And I check in the reality that opens up before me, what is good for me? And that's how I develop, that's how I live. And in that measure of development we have degrees: still vegetative, animate, and people – speaking. Each one of them has his own will to receive, his own degree, still, the small one, vegetative, animate, and speaking. And accordingly, they grasp whatever they can out of reality, what they can reveal in the will to receive. And the last degree called, Adam, has the ability to go even higher, to start feeling the nature of the upper world, the nature of the Creator called, bestowal. That's opposite to the nature of the lower ones, the will to receive, but because a degree of man includes in it also the will to bestow, called the point in the heart. This point, this tiny desire can develop, can show a person – bring a person the feeling – of existing in bestowal like the Creator, and not in reception, like still, vegetative, and animate. And then those creatures who have two forces in them, who are born this way, who exist this way, who have both the will to receive and a point from the will to bestow. They can develop the point of the will to bestow more and more until this point begins to be very important in them, and they begin to come to states, qualities. People with such means that help it begin developing this point in a purposeful way, that this is what I want to develop.

And we see how these people come to the wisdom of Kabbalah, because that is the means, the method, the Torah: The methodology for the development of the force of bestowal, which they wish to develop in them, these special people. And then those people who are in it will begin to discuss: Okay, so how do we develop the will to bestow, called the Divine, or godly part from above, the quality of the Creator that exists in each one of us, but only in the form of a tiny point, how do we develop that? And we search, we come to the wisdom of Kabbalah, it was written for us by people who saw it, checked it, developed that method. Discovered it, teased it out of nature, above nature, and then they tell us how to do it, what to do. By which physical actions, what kind of study, what kind of habits, what kind of order in life. The relationships between us, in the family, between the friends, learning with the upper force, we can arrange for ourselves all those means that will grow this point in the heart, if it exists in a person.

M. Laitman: (09:13) Because it doesn't awaken everyone, but if there are those few thousands out of the millions that wish to reach in order to bestow, to identify with the Creator – resemble Him. To understand what it means to live in the realm of bestowal not the realm of reception. Then these people begin to connect according to the recommendation of the Kabbalists in groups, in Tens, and that's how they advance. We have arranged a good, large group that is advanced, going through the stages, who learns how to move ahead in order to reach a quality of bestowal, the quality of the Creator. That this quality will begin to awaken in us and we will begin to have the revelation of the Creator. This will be called, the revelation of the Creator. The quality of bestowal, the quality of love that will begin to appear in us, we will call it, the Creator, this is the Creator who awakens in us.

So, we will continue today, we always start the day by talking about the method, talking about the means, how can we discover the qualities of the Creator, to draw them into ourselves. So that the point that exists in each one of us, the point in the heart, the godly part from above, would develop into the quality of the Creator. In short, we are growing the Creator in us, the force of bestowal, the force of connection, the force of giving. Go ahead. Hold on, maybe there are questions before that. No, I don't see. Okay, let's go!

Reader: Excerpt Number 31, this is from Rabash.

Reading: (11:44) Rabash. 31. Rabash. Article 25 (1987), “What Is Heaviness of the Head in the Work?”

A prayer should be with heaviness of the head, meaning when a person feels that he does not have faith above reason, meaning that the reason does not mandate him to work in order to bestow,

M. Laitman: Meaning, when I see myself as not ready for prayer, for a request, for bestowal, for connection, I need to prepare myself for it. Since, from the beginning, I'm just an animal, just wish to exist like all the animals, like all the people and all the animals. Because by that, a person, man, does not differ from animals, and if we wish to discover our point in the heart, who is a godly part from above, the quality of bestowal. We need to dedicate many forces, and each will help his friend in the building of the group. How do we grow the quality of bestowal in us, in whomever it exists, as a drop of semen. And from it we can grow this force in its entirety until it will be called, our soul.

yet the person understands the primary goal should be to be rewarded with Dvekut [adhesion] with the Creator.

M. Laitman: The equivalence of form with the Creator, this is called, adhesion; the Creator does not appear as someone who exists somewhere, and I'm coming close to Him, I'm approaching Him. I need to feel Him inside of me, the qualities that I am the will to receive and I want to bestow. These qualities appear in a person, it’s just that when we feel it as near me or far from me, it refers to a feeling that I have, if I want to be this way or not. Do I want the quality of bestowal to rule over me or not?

Reading: (14:13) Rabash. 31. Rabash. Article 25 (1987), “What Is Heaviness of the Head in the Work?”

Since the reason objects to this, he must go against reason, and this is very hard work.

M. Laitman: I need to understand that all those things were prepared for me by the Creator, both the work in my ego, and the work above my ego. Both in the force of reception and the force of bestowal, it all comes to me from the Creator. And only thanks to the fact that He prepared this to me, I can advance. And without reason, I can't go above reason. The ego also helps me see where I am – that I get up, I don't want anything, I want something. It's all me being directed by my egoistic desire. So, the point in the heart also directs my ego, my will to receive, and shows it how to walk, there's a special connection between them, I have to maintain both.

Reading: (15:32) Rabash. 31. Rabash. Article 25 (1987), “What Is Heaviness of the Head in the Work?”

Since he is asking the Creator to give him something to which all of his organs object, it follows that each and every prayer he makes to the Creator has its special work. This is why a prayer is called “work in the heart,” meaning that he wants to go against the intellect and the mind, which tell him the complete opposite.

This is why it is not called “the work of the brain,” since the work of the brain means that a person exerts to understand something with his mind and reason. But here he does not want to understand with his reason that we should serve the Creator in a state of knowing. Rather, he wants to serve the Creator specifically with faith above reason. This is why a prayer is called “work in the heart.”

M. Laitman: It’s interesting, how it happens: I feel that it’s opposite to me, I don't want in any way, shape or form. I do not want to connect, I do not want to study I do not want to do any action of bestowal – learn, disseminate, connection with the friends. I just don't want it, I don't want to connect to all those means that can bring me closer to the Creator. And this resistance becomes clearer and clearer from time to time and each time I need to see myself how I do specifically the opposite of that. That I don't want to do it on the inside, and I depict to myself exactly where it is in my will to receive, that I don't want it on the inside, and on the outside I have to do the opposite. And then I do it. I have no tendency for it, no necessity, no one obligates me. Rather, I, myself, am trying to find the strength to do something in order to bestow above my own reason. And here, we begin to see where there is a transition between within reason – inside the desire, and above reason – above the desire. And this transition is exactly the transition between corporeality and spirituality. And all of spirituality is built above reason, above the desire, my usual desire. Maybe read it again.

Re-reading: Reading: (19:22) Rabash. 31. Rabash. Article 25 (1987), “What Is Heaviness of the Head in the Work?”

Question (Heb 10): (21:30) You described before a special connection between the point in the heart and the desires. Can you expand on that?

M. Laitman: The point in the heart and the will to receive: the will to receive is the heart, and the will to bestow is the point in the heart. The Godly or Divine part from above is the point in the heart, and what the Creator created, which is not a part of him, that which he created outside of him, this is the heart. Meaning, our heart is the will to receive, that is what the Creator created. And the heart is really the entire creation, s since everything that exists: still, vegetative, animate, speaking - everything we can feel, we feel it inside our desire, this is called, the heart. Inside the heart, there is a point in the heart. It exists in each and every person, except it can be in concealment, a person does not feel it, and then he has no inclination towards the revelation of the Creator. And all the way to when this point is revealed, meaning Baal HaSulam writes, To disclose its action. And accordingly, a person awakens. When he awakens in the point in the heart, it means that that point from above has the quality of bestowal. He wants to discover spirituality, he does not want bestowal or love, he wants to discover spirituality. Since this point is in its preliminary form when it is revealed first.

So he has this inclination. He wants to know: where am I coming from, who is managing me, how was I born, why do I exist? All those things that speak of him, his existence. And these questions are not yet in opposition with the general will to receive, which is his heart. And the point in the heart seemingly follows the heart, he has a higher desire to know, to feel, to understand who am I, what am I, what for, and so on and so forth. And consequently, a person goes through different means and methods: mysticism, through various psychological theories, religion, and so on. Until it comes to the point where he has to know, he has to attain. Not just to perform certain actions as prescribed by certain religion, certain instruments; rather he wants to connect to this upper force, where am I from, what am I? Did I come from a certain planet, a certain galaxy – where from and where to? And when he begins to ask about that, then it comes closer, more and more, until he discovers the wisdom of Kabbalah. He might discover it in this lifetime, or he might need a few additional incarnations, but eventually, he comes to it.

These questions come to us also during childhood: Children feel those questions to some extent, then later, we begin to forget about them because other tendencies take over – for sex, for playing different games – and then it's forgotten. So, this point in the heart that exists in each and every person, if a person cannot blur it out during his lifetime, it shows itself, and demands more and more to know Godliness because this is his source, his corporeal and his spiritual source. And then he performs various actions in order to approach this solution, because it's eating him up. In this way, he advances towards the wisdom of Kabbalah and he is ready to advance towards it; nevertheless, there's a great barrier here, a great obstacle. Since what he wants to discover is this point, this source of his life, the source of his existence, the origin of the entire world, he wants to discover that within reason. To know it, to understand, to feel, as he's accustomed to do in this life, with his senses, but he sees that it's impossible. From here he comes to a state of, so what shall I do? So he enters the wisdom of Kabbalah, he's impressed by everything, but gradually he begins to see that it doesn't work out for him.

M. Laitman: (27:21) It's simply not working out, since, here, they are demanding a certain condition that he can't digest called, faith above reason, what does that mean? It means that if you want to develop your feeling, turn it into a reality that's above your will to receive, the way the force of spirituality truly exists around our reality, around our world, a force that's above our world, then to rise towards it. You need to acquire its quality in order to begin to feel it, to investigate it. It's true that the wisdom of Kabbalah is built entirely in order to reveal this upper force, and to feel it, to investigate it, to come closer to it, to understand. But for that you need to be in the qualities of this upper force. This upper force is opposite you, it's a force of giving, of bestowal, and you are the force of reception; you are opposite, and hence you can't feel it, you can't understand it. You can't even locate it, identify its existence – you feel it exists, perhaps, thanks to certain signs, but it's not that you discover it directly and feel it. How to make it so you could feel it, and then investigate, explore it, and know what is the source of your life, why do you live, why do you exist, what for?

So, the wisdom of Kabbalah first brings us to recognition with this upper force, not to just tell us that it exists somewhere up there, because they tell us there's no space, not distance or anything, it's only a matter of closeness or distance in our qualities. So, how can I bring to myself closer the concept of the upper force? They explain to us that this concept is a concept of bestowal, a force of bestowal, it's opposite to me. How can I approach it? They tell me that I can approach it, but only in the condition that we are building in this world a system of communications with people like you. A Ten, it's the best if you build it with them, since if in the Ten you all want to come out of yourself and connect to people like you. You receive examples from one another, strengthening mutual bestowal to one another. And in this way you're able to create this common force between you, the force of mutual bestowal. Although it's still a corporeal force, it's not a bestowing force, but the tendency will be connected, it will be common, the common tendency of all of you together. It will influence the upper force, so it will connect with you, come close to you, that's one thing. The other thing, which is the main thing, is that inside the Ten, inside your life, you should try and behave not within your will to receive, but the opposite of your will to receive, which is very difficult for people who are coming close to spirituality. They have a desire to receive that is very vicious, very heavy, very big. As it's written, He who is greater than his friend, his inclination is greater as well. Hence, it's very difficult for them to imagine, what does it mean to be above their desire? But other than my desire, I've got nothing, I've got nothing. How can I get rid of the desire? How could I be against the desire? That would not be rational, logical, mental, intellectual. This is all my, I. This is how I behaved my entire life, according to these vessels. Suddenly, I'm walking without any reason, without any mind. So, the wisdom of Kabbalah says not without mind and without reason, rather above your mind and above your reason. When you leave your mind and your reason, you don't erase them, but you just go opposite to it, in contradiction with it – above it, by keeping them.

M. Laitman: (32:47) So, one who goes above reason makes his reason and his mind grow even more. And above his growing mind and reason, he has to perform actions that are above reason. That's why he will become wiser, corporeally and also enter spirituality, that's how he will grow up: in reason and above reason, reason and above reason. That's why we don't cancel our reason, the way, let's say, religious people do it or in various belief systems. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, it's the opposite, it's opposite everything; we leave our reason and we go in faith above reason, not below reason. I don't make myself someone who doesn't feel, doesn't understand, and I don't care with my eyes shut, no. I shut my eyes, but go above my reason. We'll have to explain it and elaborate on it until it enters into our feeling and our understanding, and we'll be able to exist in it. But gradually, it's penetrating and we come to this boundary through which we can go from within reason to above reason. And after a few times that we'll do it, we'll feel where is the end of the degree within reason, where is the beginning of the degree above reason. And in this way we'll begin to climb the degrees, each time we'll have reason and above reason, we'll go above it, and again what we acquired in above reason will become our reason. And we'll be able to rise above it and above reason, this is our path, until we feel more and more how we know the Creator. How we feel Him, how we are becoming, we begin to resemble Him in our actions, and so on and so forth. We'll advance more and more towards His nature; we'll begin to feel the spiritual world, meaning, the acts of bestowal. And as a result of them the spiritual world, our eternal world above space-time and motion, above all the limitations that we have within reason. And then we'll be the children of the world to come. That's how we want to reach, that's what humanity has to reach, and we are the part that advances the whole business.

We'll take a few questions and continue. What I wish to remind you again, is the moment I wake up, whether from slumber or from whatever businesses I had in the middle of the day, I want to advance towards spirituality, I begin to understand that now I am within reason, and how do I rise above that stage, to above reason? I need to think how I exist in bestowal, in giving. How I am in the opposite of corporeality, how instead of in me, I'm in the Ten, in bestowing to them, in strengthening them, and this way we'll rise more and more.

Question (UK): (37:24) We receive this thing called, faith above reason, this desire, to begin with, is in us, it awakens in us as a need for faith? Or that we connect to the Ten and discover the need there?

M. Laitman: Gradually, the tendency to rise above reason appears in a person, it can show itself over a long period of time, over many years. I know people who studied the wisdom of Kabbalah, let's say, the first ten years, they only wanted to know what's written, The Study Ten Sefirot, that's the important thing, that's where the wisdom of Kabbalah is. To the extent that I will know it, will know the Study of Ten Sefirot, like a school textbook, accordingly, I feel myself entering the wisdom of Kabbalah, and that's how they studied. Then, slowly, they started to see that it's not giving them what they want. That all this knowledge that they acquired is also artificial – so what, if they study, you can learn every wisdom in this world, in this way. And they understood that they need more than that. Then, they begin to hear, to feel, that it's possible that the path to knowing the Creator goes through connection, through the society.

The first ten years, they looked down at one another, they couldn't agree with it, they couldn't feel it, it didn't exist, I don't see it as important. What, are we learning about socialism here, are we communists, we wish to be like Marx, who built a village, a special village, out of all of humanity? Later, they begin to understand that if the Creator is a single force, then it's possible that in order for us to resemble the Creator, we also have to become one force. That's why He broke us, and we need to connect. So for years, he's working on entering the group, building the group, he's going through different states in the group, from not wanting to wanting, maybe this way, maybe that way. Until he comes to a state where he begins to understand that in order to come closer to the Creator, to be like the Creator, to feel the Creator, he must have the quality of bestowal. And the quality of bestowal is for him to come close to other people, that's the method, the means. That's why the Creator created one person, one man, and shattered him into many fragments, these pixels. So, these pixels can reconnect, reassemble themselves; and to the extent that they reassemble themselves to the form of one man, they will feel the Creator. So, he starts to come close to this matter. It takes many years until he builds it and does it. He begins to feel that dissemination is very important as well, because by that he's forming closeness with other people – they awaken him as well. Gradually he's developing his feeling, and then he begins to hear that there's the matter of above reason.

Before that, and I remember it on myself, it was completely detached, disconnected, it’s was, you're just repeating a few words, it's a mantra. Faith above reason, faith above reason. No, so what? They say, Bina above Malchut, Bina above Malchut, so what is it? The force of bestowal above reception, bestowal above reception. I don't feel it I don't have this template inside, this model doesn't exist in me.

M. Laitman: (42:10) And then we enter a stage of searching: How can I build inside of me this model, this faith above reason? And then everything that we're talking about lately, reason is what I feel. Let's say, I wake up in the morning and I want nothing, nothing – like an animal, like a beast. And I begin to remember how I can nevertheless come to a state of faith above reason, what does it mean? It means that I will perform an act of bestowal above my action of reception. I don't want to wake up, but I do, in order to strengthen the friends, to strengthen the Creator. If I just get up, I can wake up as a result of some external goal, a corporeal goal. Like in the army, they say, wake up, wake up, why? Otherwise I'm going to get a beating; here, I have to give myself a beating. That if I don't wake up, I'll move further away from spirituality, and I want to come close to spirituality. So, I begin to work with myself, and no one obligates me, until I acquire within me the value for bestowal that's higher than the value for reception. The value of a spiritual action that I have to know, performs more than the corporeal rest. And in this way I advance towards faith above reason,it's not about doing some action. It's about checking inside of me how much I need to overcome myself in order to be able to do this action. By that I scrutinize the quality of the Creator. How much is it in me or not, compared to my own quality that He created in the beginning? How much the quality of bestowal can be above the quality of reception?

If I will perform a few such overcomings over myself in place of a corporeal action, I'll perform an action that I don't want to perform — a spiritual action — and by that I'll begin to understand the meaning of faith above reason, bestowal above reception. How do I come out of my will to receive and I rise to the will to bestow? I'll begin to see that this is the degree of my will to receive, and above it the degree of the will to bestow and how do I climb from degree to degree, from rung to rung in the ladder? And I can check myself each time and rise. And this is our work, and this is what we're talking about, this is the state we're in together with you. This is very important work because this is the entrance to spirituality. We don't leave this world, we constantly stand on our reason, on our mind and our feeling. And each time we wish to rise above it, in spite of the feeling, the intellect; that's why for us corporeality and spirituality are adjacent — corporeality below and spirituality right above it. And that's how I build it, and once I attain spirituality, my corporeality climbs to the level of spirituality, and I have to climb the next degree above reason. And again corporeality rises, and spirituality rises further, his is called, He who is greater than his friend, his inclination is greater, that's how we climb, and that's why we never disconnect from this world.

M. Laitman: (46:40) Reality exists, it's alive, except above it we acquire the method for how to relate to reality in the form of bestowal, like the Creator. And by that, where we advance above reason, we get to know the qualities of the Creator more and more and more until we begin to feel in it enough coarseness and enough bestowal, sufficient bestowal. Then we have a Kli for the will to receive and the will to bestow inside. You have a restriction, a screen, reflected light. And we go through all those stages of faith above reason — the force of Bina that is always above the force of Malchut, that's how we advance. There are many questions I'm very happy that you're all asking, it's very good. But just know that it needs to gradually reveal itself in each one according to his state and his degree; but we're not going to leave anyone behind. We're going to advance in such a way that we're all going to enter the feeling of the Creator and the seeing of the upper world — men and women – it's open, and it's time for everyone! After all, in the general evolution of humanity, we've come to a state where it's open to all – everyone is invited.

Question (Spain 2): (48:56) Your explanations are wonderful, but I want to ask another question: If we are thinking people, how can we want to understand without being confused with above reason?

M. Laitman: I wish to understand. Do I look like a person who doesn't want to understand? I want to understand everything! I want to grasp and get to know and understand the Creator, I want to be like Him. That's why it's written, Return, children of Israel; Israel, meaning straight to the Creator, until the Lord your God, meaning we attain everything. If I come with my equivalence of form to the Creator – I know Him, I feel Him, I understand Him, I'm on His level – there is a partnership, I become a friend, a partner with the Creator, we understand everything. Eventually everything opens up, everything is promised, is certain. My will to receive will be completely realized, but on the condition that it will be in order to bestow, otherwise it's closed off. The will to receive, in and of itself, is tiny. What do I want? To eat, to drink, to sleep, all those little things. This is the will to receive, where if I only think of myself, then I close myself off within a framework called, this world. Why can't we see the spiritual world, why can't we feel it? But we're only in this tiny round world. Our desire is small because it's closed off within itself. I only want myself. So what is that? So I'm an animal. Adam, the “Dome Bore”, one who resembles the Creator, and to resemble the Creator means to expand: How do I invade outside of my will to receive? It's only in order to bestow, my will to receive grows, but with the intention to bestow, otherwise it cannot grow. It's on the vegetative degree, still vegetative animate – these are the three degrees we have in this world - still vegetative and inanimate. The speaking degree does not exist in this world. We call humans in this way, but we are, in fact, animals.

And then in order to be more than that, we need to grasp the qualities of the Creator, and that's what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us. Hence, faith above reason is the means for rising to the degree of the Creator. And why above reason? Because towards us, with respect to us, we're all egoists, and our ego will grow more and more. And each time, through the growing ego, we'll rise above it, and we'll want to be higher and higher still in bestow, above reception.

M. Laitman: (52:46) Therefore, we'll know more within our ego, we'll be wiser, more understanding. We're not cancelling it, on the contrary, we'll be wiser, smarter. We'll see all of reality, all the worlds above all the worlds; above all these galaxies, our world is but a speck compared to what there is and what we will discover. Except, we need to advance with those vessels who are willing to grasp all of this general reality, the complete reality. That's what's ahead of us, it's a science, it's wisdom, you don't demand anything from us, you don't have to believe anything. Belief means, or faith, means the force of bestowal, above the force of reason that exists in us, the force of reception. That's it. If we acquire the second force in nature, other than the force of bestowal, the reception that we're born in, and we acquire the force of bestowal that's above us, the one that begets us. Then we equip ourselves with these two forces, we begin to reveal everything, we reveal everything, there are no limits to what we can discover, understand, feel.

Question (ITA 4): (54:45) You said that to reach bestowal we have to reach the degree of faith above reason. But as created beings, what can we give to the Creator?

M. Laitman: We give to the Creator like we give to our parents, meaning to be good, we don't have to give them more than that, since the one who gives birth to you wants to see you successful, succeeding. That's what we need, to appear successful in His eyes, successful meaning to resemble Him since He is the upper force, the perfect force, whole, and so to the extent we wish to be like Him, we give Him contentment.

Question (Florida): (55:49) In the Ten, we are trying to build the system of the Ten in faith above reason, but we don't have this power, so we raise a prayer. So, I wanted to ask, when we are looking for prayer, the first part is that He gave us reason, and then we start asking for faith?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Turkiye 2): (56:24) How do we know if we enter this spiritual condition? I am in a constant state of conflict with myself, is it connected with this condition to empower my friends?

M. Laitman: You have things that you want to do, and there are things that belong to spirituality – to connection, to dissemination, to the studies, to keeping the framework that belongs to spiritual development – that you do not want to do. So, distinguish between the two, and try to do things that belong to spirituality, that you do not wish to do. They will be, for the time being, the actions that are above reason.

Question (Volga): (57:46) I wanted to ask about the feeling of livelihood. What we call faith above reason, how does the sense of life change, is it momentarily or gradually?

M. Laitman: Like a baby that is growing up, you take it in your arms, he does not know, he does not understand, he does not feel. It is good for him in your arms, he smiles because he feels good, he cries when things do not feel good. That is how we begin to gradually get used to various spiritual phenomena in us. We do not understand, we do understand, we feel good, we feel bad; but we must feel both good and bad. So, between the two, we will have discernments. Discernments, you cannot get discernments only from sweet, you have to have bitter and savory, and so on and so forth. Not only from warmth, also from cold, a little bit of things that are unpleasant, a little bit, but you need to have them. That is why we have to go through various states, and here it depends on the group: How to identify what is good for me and what is bad for me, because by myself, I will constantly check myself relative to my ego. If I check myself relative to the group, it is not relative to the ego, but relative to spirituality. So, if that is the case, let us understand that spiritual discernment happens only in the group. Although it appears to us that each one of us can understand what is the meaning of good spiritual and the bad spiritual and how to realize them, but the scrutiny is inside the Ten. If I do it inside the Ten, I don't make mistakes, but if I do it in the Ten, and I do it in myself, then here you have exactly the direction for above reason versus reason, because the reason is me and above reason is the group. Then I have to take the reason of the group, which is the reason of the upper one. Try it and you'll see how you're advancing. It's not pleasant, it requires strength, but you can help one another, you can strengthen one another, and whatever the group decides, you try to take upon yourself through all the occurrences.

I can tell you, it's not so simple, each time we'll say, I don't want it so much, I don't have the strength, my health is faltering, I have more important things to do, I must do this, I have to do that. But here it's exactly the point of the obstacle where we have to say, whatever it might be, I'm following the group. This way you'll advance very quickly.

Question (Baltia 2): (01:01:31) These articles that you described between reason and above reason, is that, these are in transitions, is that the Masach already?

M. Laitman: It's not the screen, but it's coming close to the screen, what we have to do.

Student: Are these the 125 steps?

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no, not yet, but it's in approaching them.

Question (MAK 2): (01:02:15) If you can tell us how do you start when you wake up from a point where the spirituality and connection and bestowal are not important to you, what do you grab hold on?

M. Laitman: Specifically, in the fact that I have to do it, the group is waiting for me, I have to do it, I owe it to everyone. And then I pass myself to the Creator's court. The students have to get up, I have to prepare myself, I have to awaken myself, awaken my attitude towards everyone. I must prepare the field, the general field for all of Bnei Baruch and the whole world, so it wakes up, so it will have a certain support, a cushion, a foundation. So it will be easier for everyone to awaken towards bestowal and connection. I feel myself responsible for it and each one of you can do the same thing, and it really, truly depends on each and every one.

Student: How is it different from a soldier that wakes up? He also has a responsibility and he wakes up.

M. Laitman: No, a soldier, they obligate him to get up, and I have to obligate myself. For that, I need to grow in me, in my eyes, the greatness of the Creator more and more.

Student: How do you increase the greatness of the Creator?

M. Laitman: On this, you should work, and you'll look for, and then you'll do. Then you'll see the difference between a soldier and a Kabbalist.

Question (Tel Aviv 10): (01:04:08) We talked about the point in the heart, how and is it possible to awaken the point in the heart in an individual if it hasn't awakened yet?

M. Laitman: If the individual places himself inside the collective, he could awaken his point in the heart to the degree of his subjugation towards the collective, towards the Ten.

Question (PT 2): (01:04:41) About actions against the desire, we see that the Ten influences the person, every day causes him to make actions that he doesn't want to do. For instance, we all woke up at 2.30, none of us really wants to, but we raised importance and we were able to do it. Now, you started a very interesting scrutiny: Why do you wake up in the morning, for what? A lot of the times it feels like we're missing that, that scrutiny. How do you not miss that scrutiny? Does the Ten have to do it, the person has to do it?

M. Laitman: When I wake up, I grab myself, immediately, do I want to get up, do I not want to get up, what's happening on the inside? First of all, I feel myself on the inside. Then, from what's happening within, I want to wake up from that reason that I discovered. After waking up, I want to raise myself to faith above reason, meaning how do I wake up, I recover, I connect myself to the measure of bestowal, to the measure of my commitment, the degree of Bina, from Malchut, and that's how we do it. You talk about it, and you see that it's possible.

Question (PT 18): (01:06:06) He said a person has to wake himself up and take himself to a place of Torah, to the group, and study Torah. If a person goes through an accident, he broke all his bones or someone beat him up and broke his bones, and the moment he woke up, he feels such a degree of pain, he faints. He can't contain the level of pain that he feels. What do we have on the path that we can contain such levels of pain without fainting?

M. Laitman: Only enter the group. There's no other way, and also, dissemination. You have two things: either inside, towards the group, or outside, towards dissemination. But not to stay with whoever you are. Forget about yourself, integrate in the group and integrate in dissemination. But you should dissolve yourself in both and then you'll go quickly through all those things.

Question (Kyiv 1): (01:07:28) You said to come to know the force of the Creator, to know Him. So to know the force of love towards the friends who are outside of me, or I cleave to the friends or these forces.

M. Laitman: You got confused, I don't understand you, I don't understand you.

Student: You said that we know the force of the Creator as a force of love and bestowal.

M. Laitman: By integrating in the group, and inside the group, I begin to know what is the quality of bestowal. I bestow to the friends, I feel how they bestow to one another; from this force of bestowal that I discover that exists between us, I begin to get to know the quality of bestowal that I can exist above the quality of reception. And then from that, by acquiring this method, I begin to recognize that this quality exists – it does exist in nature. And out of that, I begin to approach more and more this concept of the Creator, the Creator Himself does not exist. He exists only when we build Him, You have made me. What did you do? We did it in the group, in the connection between us, such bestowing acts, such qualities. Such relationships that we can collectively call the quality of bestowal, the quality of Bina. The quality that is above Malchut and above our egos, which is the quality of the Creator, Let us make the Creator between us.

Student: When I turn to the Creator with this quality, that He would give the friends a quality of love, who do I turn to?

M. Laitman: I turn to the friends and to myself in order to implement, to establish the force of bestowal that would exist between us above the private ego, each and every one towards the others. So, each and every one who overcomes and wishes to be in the quality of love and bestowal, he builds in it from the attitude of the friends in the Ten, he builds a quality of bestowal. From all these qualities, we build a system of bestowal. This is called, The field the Creator has blessed. This field is indeed the Creator, come and see what you have done, you have made me. And relative to this field, we all work and we pray to it, and we maintain it, and each time we birth it more and more. This means that the Creator is between us, not in anyone, but in the relationships between one and the others. That's why the Creator created the will to receive and He shattered it, so we'll have the possibility between us – between the broken parts – to discover Him. Otherwise, we would not be able to discover Him; that's how it works.

Student: This field, is it a field of the connection between the points in the heart, specifically?

M. Laitman: Yes, let's say that, yes, you're confusing me, you want to bring everything inside. I'm talking about a feeling, and you keep pulling it towards the picture and the drawing. You don't want to remain in the picture that I'm giving you, you're creating your own architecture out of it.

Question (Queens): (01:12:11) Can we be worthy of faith above reason when I have no feeling of Masach, yet, Tzimtzum?

M. Laitman: All this will come, and you're with us many years, keep on the path, you're advancing correctly!

Student: (01:12:44) I wanted to say that as a physicist, see how from the theory of Galileo, we moved to the Newtonian theory, then to Einstein's theory, and there is a transition from a lower level of physics to a higher level. Now, with everything that has to do with Kabbalah, this is what I wanted to ask: The wisdom of Kabbalah, the knowledge that is accepted in the external mind, is it possible to relate to it as a specific case of faith above reason?

M. Laitman: No, it's not part of faith above reason but a part of faith within reason, we'll talk about it. Knowledge in our world compared to knowledge in the upper world, and that's how it is in each and every world, and we'll talk about it. This is knowledge which exists within reason, and we're speaking of knowledge that is above reason.

Question (Unity 3): (01:14:17) If we join the lessons and the meetings during the day with the intention that we acquire the importance of the friends, does that take us to faith above reason?

M. Laitman: Yes, that helps, the more you find yourself in an environment that yearns the spirituality, the bestowal, the revelation of the Creator, accordingly, you truly advance. I am very happy to hear that there are many friends who participate throughout the day as much as they can in all those gatherings. It is more important than sitting and studying alone. There are those who love to sit and study alone like a student, no. In spirituality, it is important to do it together!

Question (PT 34): (01:15:41) The question is whether it is correct, and why is it so. The question is when what appears in a person becomes within reason, and it appears as endless love to the friends, and then it disappears and?

M. Laitman: I don't understand what you are saying. Ask others how you are talking about it so that it can be understood. You should write it down, and ask again, I will teach you how to do it. I apologize, but no one will understand you this way. Give you half an hour just to understand the question, we can't do it. You are sowing confusion among everyone.

Question (PT 31): (01:17:00) Above reason seems like a kind of coercion that I coerce my reason, an action that my reason initially doesn't want. And we say that there is no coercion in spirituality, so it is not clear to me the difference between this and that.

M. Laitman: We are building faith above the force of reception. Bina above Malchut, yes. We know that is how it is, it is the opposite. There are two opposite forms in the attitude towards something: Either to receive the Creator in knowledge, in knowing; or to receive it in faith above knowledge. So, if I wish to know the Creator more, I need to rise towards Him in faith above reason, and then this faith becomes knowledge. Bina and Malchut, Malchut and Bina, they constantly exchange places.

Student: So, there is coercion in spirituality.

M. Laitman: Coercion, in what? The Creator imposes conditions on us so that only in this way we can advance, of course, of course. But that is not what they are talking about in spirituality, you cannot feel spirituality. You cannot acquire spirituality by coercion; rather, only through the desire. You make His desire as the Creator's, then you acquire spirituality. But in coercion, you will receive nothing; you will perform actions, but by coercion, you will make your desire as His. And inside your desire that became the desire of the Creator, you will feel spirituality. This means that Malchut rises to Bina, and when it is in Bina, it begins to discover all sorts of spiritual things. So whatever she attained becomes her, and then she yearns to a higher degree.

Question (PT 23): (01:19:27) If a person discovers in his thought that there is no worse reality than this world and he thinks that only in the spiritual reality is the reality of the Creator. How can you feel the importance of this world in the eyes of the Creator, what is it?

M. Laitman: This is the foundation that the Creator created, and from this foundation we need to constantly rise. This world is a storehouse where all the broken vessels lie, and each time we need to fall to the level of this world, get integrated with a broken vessel, even a lower one, and to rise and fulfill it, and again fall, and again to climb. That's the spiritual reality.
