Part 1: Preparation to “Connecting to Lishma” Convention.

Reader: Hello, We are reading selected excerpts from the sources from the document of the preparation for the “Connecting to Lishma” Congress, the World Wide Kabbalah Congress that will open in 12 days. We're continuing from excerpt number nine. You can find the study materials in the Sviva Tova and Arvut sites. You can also send us questions there. Selected excerpts from the sources on the topic of “Connecting to Lishma” as preparation for the Congress that will start 12 days from now.

9. RABASH, Article No. Article No. 12 (1988), "What Are Torah and Work in the Way of the Creator?"

Reading: (00:46) When beginning to teach women, children, and the general public, Maimonides says we should begin in Lo Lishma, and normally, everyone takes after the beginning, meaning that the reason they were given for why we need the Torah are reasons of Lo Lishma, and not because “I have created the evil inclination; I have created the Torah as a spice.” Naturally, the majority of the world does not even understand that there is a reward called “Dvekut with the Creator.”

, For this reason, the view of the majority controls a person—that he does not need to study Torah so that by this he will be able to achieve the real intention. That is, that through the Torah he will be able to aim in order to bestow and not for his own benefit, that it will bring him Dvekut, to adhere to the Creator.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (05:31) I'd like to ask why Kabbalists hide the reason for which a person lives? Don't they teach as children, women, as the general public?

M. Laitman: Don't they teach them in order for them to grow and enter Lishma?

Student: The question is, why it's not written anywhere that a person is born in order to reach the Creator? Yes, that his life is intended for something higher. Seemingly, religions developed, all kinds of methods developed, but nobody knows what people live for in the world. It's not written.

M. Laitman: Yes, you're right.

Student: Why are they hiding it?

M. Laitman: No, it's not that they hide it or not. Very few people in the world want that. It's also a question of what to do with women, with the whole world. What percentage in the world are such that don't need anything? Meaning, according to the inner deficiency that appears in a person, that's how he receives an environment, more or less. There are many aspects to this, that in our work, on the way to wholeness we're going to have to attain and get to know and understand. And then, it'll become clearer to us. Yes, it will.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (08:05) First of all, I didn't understand. You said that according to the inner deficiency that exists in a person, this is how, more or less, they arranged an environment for him.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, the environment is according to the deficiency of the person, or the environment is what shapes the person's deficiency?

M. Laitman: In order to develop the person, he has to be in an environment. By that environment, he will develop.

Student: Okay, and can there be a situation where he is in an environment that actually limits his deficiency?

M. Laitman: That already depends on the environment, and the environment is in the Creator's hands.

Student: The environment is in the hands of the Creator, or is it the person's choice? The person chooses the environment.

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter. After he comes and becomes incorporated, he develops by the environment.

Student: Rabash writes here that everyone are drawn, or takes after the beginning, meaning that the reason that they were given, why they needed Torah, and the majority of the world don't even understand that there is a reward called adhesion with the Creator. Why is it that the majority of the world remains in this framework of Lo Lishma?

M. Laitman: They still haven't grown.

Student: What limits develop?

M. Laitman: What limits is that the whole world develops by its inner development that from within a person begins to see that he wants this and he doesn't want that and so forth. And through these individual scrutinies in each and every one the whole of humanity develops and that's how it goes.

Student: Just to understand it, this is their lack of development or is it because the view of the majority controls a person so that he doesn't need to study Torah and Lishma?

M. Laitman: According to what we see in the world each and every one receives education or personal development but ultimately we see a mass of people who probably have to get to a certain state collectively.

Student: What Rabash writes here includes us also? Is he talking about external circles?

M. Laitman: Depends. Sometimes he includes us, sometimes not.

Student: And the state of humanity or let's say in the people of Israel what does it require there in order for them to develop, to change to advance from this state that they're stuck in?

M. Laitman: In Israel that's already a purposeful development and it very much depends on individual scrutinies and the extent to which we seriously go forth for moving towards the goal.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (12:30) Those who settle for that state do they settle for this state where the residents are in Lo Lishma or is it simply that they cannot see the next stage?

M. Laitman: They don't feel that there is something beyond what's in them and a person just works out of the deficiency that awakens in him.

Student: The deficiency depends on the view of the majority. That's what he says here.

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter. A person feels where that's what's missing.

Student: So how, I mean, where is the turning point from that state to the next stage? How can one come out of it?

M. Laitman: When the deficiency surfaces in a person to adhere or to connect to his inner point of development, to his soul then he feels that there has to be some cause for a new development. Otherwise, each time he has questions, desires that attract him somewhere but he's not getting an answer. He's not being fulfilled with the answer.

Student: So this is a deficiency that awakens in him through the inner scrutiny?

M. Laitman: Yes, the inner scrutiny. His deficiency is still felt, and thus that's how he develops, that's how he rolls forward.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (15:03) What brings a person's desire to develop to the next point? Of, let's say an ordinary person in this world where suddenly the point of the heart awakens in him. What happens to his will to receive, so that suddenly the point in the heart awakens in him?

M. Laitman: That he receives a certain illumination from a more developed state and thus he's drawn to it.

Student: And how come suddenly one receives it and the other person who's next to him does not receive it, how come?

M. Laitman: Each one has a certain point in the system which is governed by the general force and therefore a person feels a deficiency

Student: Is the will to receive? I'll ask differently: are all people with their desires to receive ready to receive this awakening? Or the will to receive has to go through a certain list of inner discernments that it's not even aware of what they are, and then it reaches a point where it is possible to awaken the point in the heart?

M. Laitman: A person doesn't see it in advance.

Student: Of course. A person does not see it in advance, but I'm asking about how does the system work. Is this how it works that the will to receive goes through discernments and more discernments and more discernments, then it reaches a state where it can receive the point in the heart?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Now I'm asking about us that we are here already. So we study and study and study. What is maybe... what are the primary discernments that we need in order to advance to our next degree which we call Lishma in the congress? This is what we wanted to do.

M. Laitman: We want to awaken these states that we're facing through our efforts and thus awaken the next state.

Student: Are there any specific discernments that we know that now we need to work opposite them? Let's say try to awaken them because you always tell us to connect. When we ask what is the next step you say you need to connect more, you'll reach it

M. Laitman: Because that's the... the general state that also relates to the personal state. But we have to come out of whatever point everyone's in on the path to the next point for which one needs to develop efficiency and go through physical states and so forth.

Student: What can we do between us in order to self-account for the state of connection we have now and say that's what we lack in order to rise to the next degree?

M. Laitman: That's exactly that. The main thing is to develop the state of connection.

Student: This is clear. I'm trying to understand whether we have some method, a way, or at least something that will help us to check ourselves and so we can say: "Ah, what we lack in the connection right now is..." I don't know, another meal you know every week, we lack another hour of a lesson, we lack reading this and that chapters in the Zohar or Psalms or something. I don't know. But so that we will understand what we are lacking so that we can complete it.

M. Laitman: Ultimately, it's a lot of material on the one hand, and on the other hand, we don't have that much that really matches our state. It seems like each time it's missing. And so each time we have to kind of adapt our material, our study, the material that we process, and that's how we advance.

Student: Is there anything besides this trial and error that you're describing, this process, that we can do, or we can't help it? We have to try, and in the end, hopefully we'll succeed.

M. Laitman: No, we have in our group, in our study, we become incorporated with each other. So it's not only me. There's also other people in my environment who share the same goal, and that's how we help each other to advance. And this is very significant help.

Student: That is absolutely true. I'm just trying to ask about the Ten here. We're Ten here. We're trying to do everything that you explained to us that we need to do. I mean, there's a long list of conditions, and we simply pretty much go and check these conditions one after the other. And what I'm looking for is this more that we have to add, because we need to add something.

M. Laitman: Only the labor.

Student: More of the same, really?

M. Laitman: Okay.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (21:51) We know, we learn, that in the development of the desire, there is some critical point that awakens in the will, where shame awakens in the will to receive, from being a receiver. From there on, the work starts to be different, with a screen and reflected light, and it searches how to connect and reach adhesion. And I would like to ask, in order for us to shift to a new state called Lishma, or adhesion, should we have some kind of decision that we're done with the previous state, or even we hate the previous state, meaning we disagree to stay? You can't have both this and that. You can't be both a bachelor and also married, or we need to understand that one chapter has ended. It was good. It was necessary. But now we're starting a new chapter of a different kind of work. My question is, should we develop truly hatred towards this state called Lo Lishma?

M. Laitman: Yes, but it all still has to happen under His governance, so that one doesn't escape to all kinds of external states, but rather stay in the same path, same road, and not completely veer off it.

Student: A week ago, our Ten gathered somewhere, and we did a small exercise. We wrote down a note. Each one wrote for himself. What does he think is hindering him from reaching, being as one man in one heart, being in Lishma? What is hindering him on the path? We looked at this note for a few minutes, and we decided we're going to go and burn these notes, and now we're going to start a clean slate. It was an exercise. We talked about it. It was very powerful, and it held that time, and it was a feeling that seemingly we feel comfortable in that state. When we go back to the routine, you feel comfortable. You study a little bit. You care for yourself a little bit. You engage with all kinds of things, but it can't keep working like that. Something has to be cut off. We seemingly have to make a decision that we're going to replace our state. What needs to happen in the group? And there's a feeling also that you're influenced from the general view of the group, of the society. What needs to happen for us in order for us to replace our state?

M. Laitman: Prayer.

Student: What should we ask for in that prayer? Prayer, everybody's praying. This specific prayer, that let's finish one chapter and let's move on to another state.

M. Laitman: We have to do these scrutinies of the prayer regularly.

Student: What point should we stand on in this prayer? What exactly should we ask for?

M. Laitman: What you clarify that you lack. That's the main point.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (25:26) This state of connection between us is related to this usage of the Torah, called the Spice, that brings us in order to bestow. Is the state of connection between us connected only to that or mostly to that?

M. Laitman: I don't know if to put it like this or like that, but the connection is clear.

Student: How can we make it more precise? Meaning, how can we make the reason for connection between us more precise?

M. Laitman: To refine the reason for the scrutiny, we can do that only through thought, only through prayer. There's nothing more. But the more a person wants to adhere, to exist in the developing point, and becomes his vessel, becomes a place that he exists in. That's what's important.

Student: This is thanks to the friends?

M. Laitman: Perhaps he doesn't feel that much that it's connected to the friends, but when he's at this point of development..

Student: This point of development is in the connection with the friends?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (27:25) Is the connection with the friends, when you say that the environment is arranged for us, where are the limits? Is it my Ten or Bnei Baruch , or should I care about everyone, or is it only inside the Ten? I'm asking for a reason.

M. Laitman: We have to work on the smallest system there is, which is man inside a Ten. And out of that, he will develop. That's it.

Student: I'll tell you why I'm asking. A friend that I hardly say hello to him here in the study hall, let's say, the friend, told me many, many years ago, something that I took with me throughout the path. It influenced me. He also let me realize where I came to on the path. He told me about a person who's drowning in the ocean, and he's fearful of heaven, right? And he's certain that the Creator is going to come and save him. And indeed, the Creator sent him a helicopter, and I want to bring down a ladder for him so he can climb up. But he says, go away, go away. He's waiting for the Creator to come, the Creator himself. This sentence, I took it with me, and the friend is not from my Ten. Until one day, this long, exhausting path, a friend sent me the article called, To Serve Me. It's really a necessary reading for everyone. I have to say, it says, I have to say thank you to everyone. These are scrutinies I was asking many questions, I shed many tears, but we depend on our whole precious environment called Bnei Baruch. That's from my experience.

M. Laitman: Okay, what is the plan?

Reader: We can continue to the next excerpt, number Ten.

Reader: 10. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 161. “Concerning the Giving of the Torah – 2”

Reading: (30:21) When one works for oneself, it is considered Lo Lishma [not for Her sake], and from Lo Lishma we come to Lishma [for Her sake]. Hence, if one has not been awarded the reception of the Torah, he hopes that he will receive it next year. And when he receives the complete Lishma, he has nothing more to do in this world.

This is why each year there is a time of reception of the Torah, since the time is ripe for an awakening from below, since then it is the awakening of the time when the light of the giving of the Torah is revealed in the lower ones.

This is why there is always an awakening from above, so the lower ones can act as they did then, at that time. Thus, if one continues on the path that the Lo Lishma will bring him Lishma, he is progressing correctly and hopes that he will eventually be rewarded with the reception of the Torah Lishma.

M. Laitman: This is clear what’s written?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (32:38) It says here that the lower ones will be able to perform the act as they need If one continues on the path in Lo Lishma it begins Lishma. He is progressing correctly, and hopes that he will eventually be rewarded with the reception of the Torah Lishma. What does it mean to do the deed as back then? How do we reach between us, in the work between us, in the scrutinies between us? Because earlier you said that we have to make scrutinies all the time in order to reach the correct prayer, a new state each time. How do we reach the scrutiny according to the awakening from above? How do we reach the awakening from above so that we will know how to perform the act as back then? What does it mean?

M. Laitman: We try to do whatever is in our hands to do, based on the teaching that we are studying. And so, we feel, through the changes we go through, that there is prayer on our part, request, gratitude. And from above, there are also various influences upon us, by which we need to develop.

Student: In the Freedom article, Baal HaSulam says that whoever exerts during his lifetime to find a new environment each time, receives a reward. So now I'm asking you about that, according to the excerpt we read now. We are now in a very special time, we all feel that before the Congress. There is some awakening that we receive from above, there's no doubt about that. How do we actually reach the right scrutiny, so that we will truly reach a true prayer, deeper and more correct prayer, so that we match ourselves with the awakening from above, the existing state? We all say that we feel a certain state, if we will reach that particular prayer that will match the awakening from above through our effort, eventually it needs to be our effort. What kind of awakening do we need? How do we reach a prayer so that we truly match ourselves to this special time that we are now receiving?

M. Laitman: We have to try.

Student: To try to do what?

M. Laitman: To try to be besides the state you're in, to reach the state you envision. That probably is a state where I know more about my path, my study, my intention, the group, the connection, and so forth.

Student: Yesterday we met with another Ten, we met with Petah Tikva 23, we had Yeshivat Haverim together, we felt the common deficiency to meet together, and I hear from many other friends that there is some awakening to meet together more, we want to feel this together more. What else do we need to do in this awakening we feel now, we feel this together? We truly felt a common force yesterday, we felt a force of a deficiency, a new deficiency. What is this new deficiency that we want to increase our vessel?

M. Laitman: You need to continue onwards with it.

Student: What to continue next, because we feel we're afraid not to lose this period of time and not to take this opportunity now with both hands, but with everything we've got, what else do we need to take in order to realize it?

M. Laitman: Just to keep going. Just to keep going, to continue means that we have the same goal, we have the same means, actually, it's just that we want to be more connected, more directed, more tight together, so that along the way we will discover our next milestone.

Student: The lack to incorporate with another attempt to feel the environment as we are talking about it right now, will that grow our deficiency for the new state, for approaching the new state we wish to reach?

M. Laitman: Probably so.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (38:23) It's said that if a person was not rewarded with receiving the Torah, he should yearn to receive it right now. What does it mean to be rewarded with receiving the Torah?

M. Laitman: That he receives an illumination from above that explains to him what state he is in and what he has ahead of him.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (39:20) Each year there's a time of the reception of the Torah. Can we also look at our congress as an opportunity of an awakening from above?

M. Laitman: A congress is a general awakening from above and from below. Because we determined many things in a congress, that all in all they can be related to the awakening from below, but all in all the congress is under the Creator's control.

Student: And what is the awakening from below, from our part?

M. Laitman: It all depends on how much we will want it, each one of us, and how much we will all connect together to my state, that's how I need to see it, and how much we will want to reach adhesion with the Creator.

Student: If he's not rewarded with receiving the Torah, with entering Lishma, then he hopes he will receive it next year, then the next congress, the next opportunity, what should be the approach?

M. Laitman: The approach should be that we are walking on a path where each time we search for states where the upper force will clothe in us more strongly.

Student: Yesterday in the meal, Friday meal, you said about the congress, when you were asked, you said, I think that we deserve it, but we need to ask more and more.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What do we deserve?

M. Laitman: We deserve to be on a higher spiritual degree, to be together in that degree, to feel our obligation towards each other in a more tangible way, and advance in such a way.

Student: When a person begins to understand the meaning of Lishma, to live for the other, to come out of himself completely, how can he honestly pray, ask for Lishma, ask to have such a desire?

M. Laitman: He feels it, that this desire governs him.

Student: And then what? This desire governs him and what?

M. Laitman: Then he can't let go of it, he's in it. And he wants to actualize it.

Student: A person feels that Lishma is for his sake, it's for his benefit, it will fill him with pleasure. Then?

M. Laitman: Yes,

Student: But until then?

M. Laitman: Until then?

Student: So until then, how does he truly pray from the bottom of the heart to enter Lishma? Why should he?

M. Laitman: He cannot bend himself from Lishma to Lishma, but rather only with a prayer.

Student: And what kind of perception of reality do we aim? Does a person know what is his new eye? Does he have a preparation for it? Is it clear or something totally different?

M. Laitman: It is clear. It's a certain number of states that have to be revealed.

Student: So it's unclear. We can't feel, we can't sense, what are we getting into? What is this thing? A person really discovers something new that he didn't even imagine? Didn't we depict that state we were trying to enter? Or he makes one depiction and he enters another and he discovers it's unreal what he did?

M. Laitman: I don't know.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (44:08) I wanted to ask, he says that we are going on the path of Lishma, but we hope that while engaging in the Torah we'll reach Lishma. It sounds like an intention for an intention. Our intention is for ourselves, but we intend to have the intention to bestow contentment to the Creator. Is this correct to say it this way? We Tend to have the intention to bestow contentment to the Creator. Is this correct to say it this way? Again, he says in the excerpt that our intention is for ourselves, meaning not Lishma, but we hope that engaging in the Torah will bring us to Lishma, meaning the intention before the intention. Our intention right now is to bestow to ourselves, but we have the intention to reach the right intention to bestow contentment to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: It sounds like a prayer before prayer compared to a prayer. So my question is, is the whole thing here a quantitative thing that becomes qualitative, or is this a qualitative leap from one state to another? I think it's a qualitative leap. It doesn't go through addition in quantity.

M. Laitman: I don't think that we need to make these scrutinies, meaning only the correction in the intention.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (46:03) The same direction of the common prayer. Also in our Ten, it came up in the last Ten gathering. We are in a gathering and we scrutinize God's efficiency and we're together, but still, what's the common prayer? If each one of us tries to pray on his own, there's a defense of the ego. The ego takes you to a different place. But we want to take advantage of the Ten's gathering to do additional work.

M. Laitman: And the question is?

Student: The question is, one of the examples that came up is that you used to tell us that in the meals at the Rabash, you were a group together and he would guide you to be an effort in this internal scrutiny. And he would give you another intention, another direction, and you'll go through an entire meal silently. And we thought that maybe in our Ten, we'll be able to have such an exercise. And I wanted to ask if you can give us a sequence of points in which we can make a mutual effort for prayer. Four or five points that together, with our internal work, without talking too much, we'll be able to pray and overcome the ego.

M. Laitman: In each and every point that we're on, on the path, we have to create an exit from that point and reach the next point, in which we will feel ourselves that we're more connected to the upper force, and also between us, and we develop in these two directions.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (48:36) It says in the excerpt that he's waiting for the Torah, that he's lacking that.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: What precedes that? I guess there's a certain quota of work that he reached. What does he have to come to before? What causes this deficiency?

M. Laitman: It comes out of the deficiency to see the states of development that are connected to each other and emerge from each other.

Student: How does he grasp it with his mind?

M. Laitman: It's more emotional.

Student: More emotional, but is he able to depict this next state?

M. Laitman: Let's say so.hMore emotional, but he's able to depict the next state? Let's say so.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (49:48) I heard before that you're looking for states in which túhe upper force can clothe in us more strongly, more intently. Where will it clothe?

M. Laitman: In those states that we're going through.

Student: How should that be expressed to the person?

M. Laitman: That a person feels that he's in a certain special state and he feels that from this state he will reach the next state and the next state seemingly helps him to see more correctly how he moves between these states.

Student: The upper force that will clothe in a person more intently, what will it make out of the person?

M. Laitman: It will make in the person the form of the state so that the person will see in these states that now they're building in him a sequence of states such that the person can work with them. Out of that he understands that in changing this particular element this will change in him by that element if he changes it he's going to feel differently he starts to get an approach to his perception so that he can be active with his perception in his self-awareness. That's it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (53:07) Why does it say that the state of not listening is more important than the state of listening? What does that mean?

M. Laitman: There are many explanations for it. Not listening is good. It's good for a person to feel that he is in the state of not listening. This is why there is what to do with it.

Student: Why is it considered higher? Listening is our goal. How can it be that not listening is higher and more important?

M. Laitman: So, in not listening it is clear to the person that he is in the state of not listening and then and then and then he realizes that he is still missing a few elements that he needs to discover and put together.

Student: In the state of listening can it be described in the vessels of listening? In the state of Lishma, can it be described in the vessels of reception in order to be attracted to it? Can you describe such a state where it's worthwhile to be in Lishma, it's beneficial, rewarding?

M. Laitman: It's worthwhile.

Student: And in spirituality, whenever a person comes to Lishma, and each new degree, each new layer of the will to receive that he discovers, he falls again into Lo Lishma, then tries and prays and he comes to Lishma, or?

M. Laitman: Yes, usually, yes.

Student: Meaning Lo Lishma is not simply a state below the Machsom, below the barrier, rather it's a state that you fall into every time throughout the 125 degrees?

M. Laitman: Yes, you can say that.

Student: Because if each time more will to receive a greater cost is revealed, he must start from Lo Lishma.

M. Laitman: Well, there are additional conditions, there are additional conditions.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (55:56) How do we come out of this work of adding a piece that's becoming smaller and smaller as according to the example you gave, where we divide a circle to smaller and smaller circles, squares, and we keep adding squares, but we never truly reach the changed state?

M. Laitman: It's true, but it's also not true. We will scrutinize it, each one of us, within himself, and then we will continue in such a way.

Student: Does it depend more on us, or how we see the Creator?

M. Laitman: I don't see a difference.

Student: So how can we awaken the Creator, not simply to respond to what he arranged for us, the state that's arranged for us, to do certain work, but to truly be in a state where, I don't know, as if we're trying to stay a step ahead of him, seemingly, so we would reach some attainment and not simply?

M. Laitman: When you arrange a prayer, then you're actually speaking ahead of the Creator.

Student: Is there a small prayer and a big prayer?

M. Laitman: That doesn't matter now. There are many things to it.

Student: Because it feels like the smaller prayers, that's how I call them, don't make any difference in the system.

M. Laitman: That's not correct. But for the time being, this may seem so.

Student: Do we need to reach a stronger prayer or a powerful, bigger demand?

M. Laitman: This all depends, with respect to the person, everything is with respect to the person.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (58:24) What does it mean, the time that is qualified for an awakening from below? What is such a qualified time, where does it come from?

M. Laitman: Apparently, the states that accumulate from different directions, they bring about the correct condition for the discovery of a special state.

Student: Does it depend on us, this qualified time?

M. Laitman: It also depends on the state of a person, of course.

Student: Not about the state, I'm asking, is it up to us to draw in that qualified state, or does it come from above?

M. Laitman: Of course, it comes from above, and of course, it is the result of all kinds of efforts, that we have gone through, this is how it is,

Student: How can we awaken ourselves, so that we will…This is how it is. How can we awaken ourselves so that we will have a more continuous uninterrupted connection with the upper force?

M. Laitman: Ask. Ask.

Student: This is sometimes work and sometimes not at all? What does that depend on?

M. Laitman: It depends on the preparation of a person and it depends also on what the Creator arranges for one and from both of these, what will be the result?

Student: Can we awaken our hearts so that we will have an ongoing uninterrupted connection with Him? Or is the key to that, with Him, to be in that kind of connection? Let's put it this way. I wanted to ask, do we have to be not relaxed, not calmed down for this story to realize in us?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Because I see that in general the society is calmed down and you're saying it's okay, we're advancing. What are we doing in order to create a state of disquiet in the connection with the Creator, so we will be able to awaken one another, unrest? I'm saying a person who wants to advance toward the attainment of Lishma, he cannot be at rest, he cannot be relaxed. That's what it seems to me, he has to be constantly moving.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Going through changing states?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What can we do here in the society for this fire to burn here?

M. Laitman: As usual. How many means do you have for it?

Student: How can you say such a thing as usual? There's no as usual. Is there such a thing as usual? The means are, it's true what you're saying.

M. Laitman: Try more.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:02:50) The opposition, let's call it the guards, that will be there and they're starting already. We see it with Turkey and it's in many states, many inner feelings. How can they increase for us the power, the desire to enter Lishma? Because they grow stronger.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So how can this actually give us strength, these states?

M. Laitman: Specifically, they're the ones who give us. If you won't have anybody who's opposing, how will you reach Lishma?

Student: Understand it, like walkways and?

M. Laitman: Prayers and exerting, how will you do it? It's only with the help of these loyal guards, loyal to the Creator. They lead you.

Student: As a unit, and I mean the entire Kli, not just the Ten of Israel.

M. Laitman: That doesn't matter. I don't know exactly. It can be this way. It can be another way.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:04:18) I understand the friend who asked the questions now about the burn. It's clear that you can't reach anything if we don't truly want it. You have to reach true yearning to reach Lishma. Together with that, there's a certain state of patience. The Creator is working on us. Let's allow Him to work on us and respond to that. How do we maintain this balance? On the one hand, alertness and readiness, on the other hand, patience.

M. Laitman: I don't know if I have an answer. Together, we go through states. These states come from the Creator. The entire system that we exist in is operated through these states. And this is how we roll forward. Well, that's it.

Student: There are times, though, that it's clear that the group has to do something. The entire world Kli now is gearing up for the Congress. There's alertness, there's tension in the air, on the one hand. On the other hand, we want to see, we want to ask for something to happen. There's a need to balance these two things. So one will not come at the expense of the other, but rather one will complete the other. How do we find the balance between the two?

M. Laitman: We don't want to reach a balance before the Congress. We think that by that we might lose some alertness, some need. This is why we need to scrutinize to what extent our special inclination towards a solution will be a worthy inclination.

Student: What is the worthy inclination towards the solution?

M. Laitman: That it connects the beginning and the end and our point on the path. And it brings us to the goal.

Student: The last one, maybe. Inside this process, is there a place for a point of relaxing, of certainty, confidence that it's about to happen? Or do we have to constantly ask ourselves what we have to do next?

M. Laitman: Certainly, this question of what to do next must be there inside of us. And along with that, we have to search for answers that exist between the friends. That's where the whole Torah is.

Student: The Creator is working with us through the friends, between the friends, and we have to respond also on that point, that place?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:09:02) I also wanted to relate to what the friend and the other friend were saying. Both, that's the answer on our path. Oftentimes, we're not looking for one or the other. To feel this pressure, as the friend mentions, there's an excerpt from a Kabbalist who writes to us about reaching Lishma, that one who doesn't strive for it, it's best if he wasn't even born, that’s to give us the push. God forbid, I don't. But also, another Kabbalist wrote that it depends on the measure of patience. So, the answer to both is correct. It's both?

Question (Woman PT 38): (01:09:59) At the point where he disagrees, refuses to receive for himself, it's like a wall, there's no way to move, you can't do anything. How do you advance from here to the work of Lishma?

M. Laitman: We ask the Creator.

Question (Woman Turkiye 8): (01:10:19) What steps should a person take in the process of transition from work for himself to Lishma?

M. Laitman: To continue from the state that he's in towards Lishma.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:10:53) What is the advice for following the Creator each and every moment? Like in that allegory about the person following the Creator in the garden, so there won't be a state where he's walking ahead of him, he's losing him.

M. Laitman: He needs to try to see the Creator in the forces that operate on him and develop in such a way.

Student: And what does the Creator want from a person each and every moment, each situation the Creator arranges for a person? What does He expect from a person? What should be the reaction of a person?

M. Laitman: That a person will learn from Him how to resemble Him.

Student: And what does it mean a person's reaction, which is called being similar to the Creator, resembling the Creator?

M. Laitman: It means that he resembles the Creator. That point is called Adam, one who resembles the upper point.

Student: I now react to a situation that took place, and I want my reaction to be similar to the Creator. What does that mean? My reaction, my response is what the Creator expects me to respond?

M. Laitman: That you look at that state, you study the existing state and the previous state, the state you have now, and you ask the Creator to format you according to the state that you are now being incorporated with as much as possible on the animate level, on the lower level. And you want to be similar to the Creator to some extent.

Student: Last question. When I get up in the lesson to ask a question, and I want as much as possible to be with the Creator, so it won't come from me, but it will come from the friends through the Creator together with Him. What is the recommendation? What is the preparation before asking a question? What should that look like?

M. Laitman: To be incorporated with everyone. This is a very special state. That you attain the connection with everyone and you feel in yourself forces, will powers, that give you the special direction to reach the general collective action.

Student: This special direction to reach the general collective action. How can I succeed in feeling this common desire? There's a vessel here with a world key and from that to feel that this is the direction that this is the deficiency now. How to succeed in that?

M. Laitman: It's not for now. It is not for now.

Reader: We can go to the next part. We have two Rabash articles, two short articles, maybe a song.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Song: (01:15:16)
