Item 13

We might ask, “Since there is no disclosure of the essence of the souls of the receivers in AK and Atzilut, what do those Kelim, called ten Sefirot, serve for, and whom do they conceal and cover in those measures?”

There are two answers to this: The first is the hanging down, as you will find inside the book. The second is that the souls, too, are destined to receive from those ten Sefirot in AK and Atzilut, through the ascent of the three worlds BYA to them, as will be written below in Item 163. Hence, we should discern these changes in the ten Sefirot in AK and Atzilut, as well, according to the light that they are destined to shine upon the souls once they rise there with the worlds BYA, for then they will receive according to the degree in those ten Sefirot.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (02:13) Why do we need all these mechanisms of Atzilut and wholeness, and worlds of BYA, rise and descend. Why can't the created being and the Creator be in connection right away?

M. Laitman: If they are opposites in their nature, then how can it be that they will be so close so that they will be in adjacent worlds or even more?

Student: How does this mechanism create a connection between the Creator and the created being?

M. Laitman: Precisely, by the distancing and gradually, when the souls ascend more and more towards Godliness.

Student: According to what is written here, I guess, there is a big gap between Atzilut and BYA. In BYA, the souls can somehow be connected to but Atzilut.

M. Laitman: Is above everything.

Student: Is above everything. So, there is still some change that BYA is more like Atzilut but why do we need this adapter?

M. Laitman: The souls can't directly be similar to Atzilut because they were created in a state which is the opposite of Godliness. It's such distancing that we can't even depict what kind of distancing it is. We don't quite understand what oppositeness in spirituality means, we can't feel that. And this is why all of our work is to take part with the souls and bring them to equivalence of form. This means that they will be able to discover the Creator, gradually, and this is by them, themselves changing gradually. And in this way, it will be for everyone.

Student: I ask from the lower one – on the side of the lower one – how in the work of the Ten, annulment, incorporation, the connection between us. How by that we become similar to the worlds of BYA?

M. Laitman: This is about the souls not about the bodies.

Student: Yes, sure.

M. Laitman: With the souls, we can simply rise above the restriction and we already become similar to the ladder. Where in this ladder are all the souls and we can connect with them and keep climbing upward.

Student: What quality do we acquire between us? Do we share with those worlds?

M. Laitman: The will to receive within us, even though it's the opposite of the worlds but this oppositeness does not detach us from the spiritual worlds. Because this change of form, the disparity of form, does not harm us.

Student: How does this not harm us?

M. Laitman: It doesn't harm us because we don't feel, we don't understand the essence of the souls. And we can get closer to them according to how the Creator arranged it for us. Meaning, that we have vessels we receive and bestow, so that we can be opposite to the Creator or similar to Him. And we can bestow to these vessels and in such a way, get closer to the souls and research them, and connect with them.

Student: What's the point of connection? We say, for example, that we need to reach love between us, a certain bestowal. But where is the point of connection with those souls that are in the worlds?

M. Laitman: The point of connection between us and with the souls is the point of the desire to bestow, which we, gradually, bit by bit, receive within us from the upper worlds.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (08:40) What's the essence of the souls?

M. Laitman: The essence of the souls is a desire to bestow.

Student: What's the connection between our work in the Tens and the souls?

M. Laitman: That we, through the work in the Ten, can reach the awareness, the understanding of what are the souls. And how much we can connect between us in order to resemble them.

Student: And before we have souls, what do we have in us? What does this state now, before the souls?

M. Laitman: Before the souls, it's a will to receive.

Student: How is the connection between us and the souls, created?

M. Laitman: The connection is made through the shattering and connection on various levels that existed before our creation.

Student: What do we have in us now that's connected to the souls?

M. Laitman: Within us now, there is a will to receive with its records so that these records can awaken by the upper light that we draw from above. And this upper light, when it influences the desires of the souls, it inverts them from in order to receive to in order to bestow. And by that, we become closer and closer to the Creator.

Student: What does it mean to incorporate with the souls?

M. Laitman: The incorporation of the souls, it means that as much as the soul is in a will to bestow in different manners, we, too, can reach such a state. So that we too will want to be in the desire to bestow.

Student: What does it mean to be incorporated with the souls?

M. Laitman: To be incorporated with the souls means that we do become similar to them. And each one discovers the root of his soul, and in this way we connect more and more and more.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (12:20) As he writes, all the changes are in the Ten Sefirot.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: In the Ten, do we need to reach a complete degree of ten Sefirot to have connection with the upper worlds?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And what is it for us? Is it many states you have to go through or can it happen at once?

M. Laitman: We need to use our desires in order to bestow. And then by that, we adapt ourselves to the souls that are also in order to bestow, the upper light.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (13:27)What does the soul receive from the ascent of a world to a world that is higher?

M. Laitman: Well, the soul receives light.

Student: Why doesn't she move herself from BYA to Atzilut but only together with the ascent of BYA to Atzilut?

M. Laitman: Because of lack of forces.

Student: The soul, itself, cannot move?

M. Laitman: No.

Student: The world is a certain environment in which the soul develops?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What is the difference in the development of the soul between developing in BYA and developing in Atzilut, later?

M. Laitman: The development in BYA is the development before the congruence between the souls and Godliness. And the development in the worlds of Beria and Atzilut is already a development which is in congruence, matching.

Student: When we begin the work between us in connection and we wish to adapt ourselves to that state of bestowal. From which world do we receive it? Which soul do we connect?

M. Laitman: I didn't understand the question?

Student: When we begin the work between us and we wish to be in equivalence with the upper light. With which world do we receive from, what do we want to start with?

M. Laitman: We start from the bottom, truly. And we have to adapt ourselves to those lights that come to us from above and influence us – they change us.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (16:01) How through the changes we reveal here in the work between us, how by that we discover, disclose, the lights that should come to us?

M. Laitman: We don't know which lights we should draw in order to get closer between us in order to perform some spiritual actions in the spiritual realm, we don't know that. But bit by bit, through actions where we do want to get closer to each other. We do want to mingle between us, we can begin to feel how it works.

Student: What are the changes that we feel between us? What does it mean that following the changes we feel this compatibility because of the compatibility, when we wish to come closer to one another, we ask the Creator to give us what we need.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How through these changes we acquire this compatibility, we feel it?

M. Laitman: By the upper light influencing us and obligating us to change. By that we slowly begin to receive discernments of what are we changing to; for what purpose are we changing; what will be our future, how can we by ourselves accelerate this development, and so on.

Student: Meaning, we acquire impressions from the light. And that's what we say, the Creator awakens us before, we think it comes from us but the Creator constantly awakens us to the new state through these impressions from the light.

M. Laitman: Without a doubt.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (18:45) You talked about the discovery of the root of the soul. On the one hand, it's too early, on the other hand, there is a feeling is that the root of the soul is what's connected to the world. Is the incorporation in it possible through prayer? Can we do that?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How do we begin with the inner intention before the prayer?

M. Laitman: We're not in that yet.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:27) I heard you said that these records can awaken by the upper light that we draw from above, and this upper light influences the desires of the souls and it turns them from in order to receive to in order to bestow. I want to ask, what are those records? Those Reshimot [records] that might awaken? We are working in the Ten but what does it mean that records awaken in the Ten?

M. Laitman: Out of ten friends, we need to realize that what operates between us is the Reshimot, the records. And these records are all from the future states on our path, from revelation. And so, as much as we operate according to that, we accelerate our development, our spiritual development.

Student: What are those records, states that take place in the Ten - suddenly the bad, suddenly the good?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: All kinds of states that take place?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: We know that during the morning lesson, we can draw the light most powerfully. So, the work in the Ten can intensely draw these records to awaken us, more intensely?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (21:20) The souls and their essence are already in the will to bestow?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Meaning, right now, we are disconnected from the souls, but through the efforts to connect, connecting between us, drawing the light, we connect with the soul?

M. Laitman: Let's say so.

Student: You also described how the souls ascend through the worlds, meaning after we connect with the souls, with additional actions, we can raise those souls?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What is the role of the ten Sefirot in this process? How do they get incorporated?

M. Laitman: The ten Sefirot, this is already the internal arrangement of the souls between them – within them and between them. We will learn more about that.

Student: It says in the items before and after that the Sefirot are like the covers to the light, the concealment. That the measure of concealment is the measure of revelation. So, how can we understand that concealment or covering is actually revelation?

M. Laitman: That by the covering that is done from above, it awakens us to discover what is covered by that cover from below.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (23:18) Can you explain what a soul is? I was confused.

M. Laitman: It's a Godly part from above, that is what is written.

Student: From the conversation now, it sounds as if it's like a separate entity from me.

M. Laitman: I don't know what you're going to add. I'm just telling you, it's a godly part from above.

Student: I'm trying to understand how it's connected to me.

M. Laitman: To understand, that's impossible but you can try to get closer to what is written. Then we will feel it.

Student: Also, my point in the heart is the divine part from above? My desire to reveal the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How is that connected to the soul?

M. Laitman: I don't know.

Student: What are worlds?

M. Laitman: Are you going to start asking about everything, now?

Student: I have to connect it, somehow.

M. Laitman: If you have to, then read a book, study well, and you will then understand.

Student: I thought I understood but now everything got confused.

M. Laitman: Okay, so there is time for examination.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (24:43) There's a list I took down, here, years ago: There's nothing but records and the light that shines in them and turns them into worlds, Partzufim, Sefirot. The whole idea, the whole point, is to realize the records according to the order of their emergence by cause and consequence in absolute laws that connect into one exalted goal referred to as the revelation of His Godliness to His creatures in this world. In this world, the Creator will finish the work for me. All the concealments are below Atzilut, in concealment. In Atzilut, one-time revelation, one-time, concealment and the whole thing is about upper, lower, and upper is upper. The upper is Atzmuto, the lower is the Kli. Are the souls the lights and the lower ones the vessels?

M. Laitman: Well, somehow, you can say that.

Question (Asia): (26:07) What are the records, Reshimot?

M. Laitman: The records, Reshimot, is what remains in the vessels after the light departs from there. And those records. Their role is to awaken these vessels to return to their role, their function as it was before the falling, the shattering and the departure of the light.

Student: What is our work with the records?

M. Laitman: Our work is to awaken the records to perform corrections according to what they reveal to us.

Question (Latin 26): (26:52) How does the cascading down of the worlds and the structure of the worlds in AK and Atzilut prepare the souls for the receiving the light of Ein Sof?

M. Laitman: Gradually, gradually, the records that exist within us, their role is to awaken us so that we will perform actions that are more and more compatible with the worlds - Assiya, etc.

Question (Latin 1): (27:33) When does a person reveal, discover, the root of his soul?

M. Laitman: I can't say. When he has already reached a state where they can shine on him with the light of the soul, then he receives it.

Student: How can we determine who in the Ten fits which Sefira? How to measure it?

M. Laitman: We can't determine it and we don't engage in that.

Question (Moscow 1): (28:10) Is the cascading down relating to the descent of the degrees?

M. Laitman: You can say that there is something similar in that in terms of the wording.

Student: How is this cascading down related to us, to our work?

M. Laitman: We study the cascading of the worlds, the Partzufim and the Sefirot from above downwards, down to this world. And later on, we learn how, through the appearance of the records, we can use them in order to rise from the degrees of the Partzufim, and Sefirot, and Olamot [worlds].

Question (Woman PT 25): (29:25) What is the best way to awaken the Reshimot in the Ten?

M. Laitman: The best way is to develop love between the friends in the Ten, that's it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (29:48) Is there a connection between the root of the soul or the soul and the part of the broken soul of Adam HaRishon?

M. Laitman: Broken screen of Adam HaRishon. Yes, we're all from there.

Student: Meaning, we're talking about the soul or the root of the soul, we don't speak of the will to receive instead of which there's a? Or it's a part of the screen, the broken screen? Or there used to be a complete screen, that is the soul?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Okay, if that's the case, what's the difference, then, between the will to receive that we, seemingly l, feel in our perception of reality, our uncorrected perception? And the will to receive that used to be corrected with a screen and reflected light? Is it the same will to receive or there's no connection to it?

M. Laitman: You don't have the will to receive twice, you have one will to receive, that's it, that the Creator created in the created beings. And that same will to receive is separated among all the created beings.

Student: The only connection left between us and the light, and the Creator?

M. Laitman: Is that same will to receive that the Creator created?

Student: In which there's a portion of a screen, a spark, of the broken screen?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, it's all there.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (32:00) The process of cascading down of the worlds, from above down, where is the first point of desire? Where was the will to receive created?

M. Laitman: I think that this was to begin with; however, it is revealed gradually from Malchut of AK and down to Malchut of Malchut.

Student: So, when we say that the worlds are degrees of concealment on the light that's gradually concealing itself from the very first point of Malchut of AK, as Rav said. In parallel to the process of concealing the light, the will to receive begins to be created? That, the more the light disappears, the will to receive occupies more and more space?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, that's the will to receive, that is becoming in terms of coarseness.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What's the connection – and maybe there's no connection, maybe I'm confused. But what's the connection between that and the process of shattering and the mixing of the desires, and so on?

M. Laitman: This is all in order to reveal the will to receive in a way that it is more and more spread open so that with its help, we can explain everything that happens to us in the world.

Student: Which is designed to produce a future environment for development for the created being to climb from below up?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Meaning, there's this perfect environment that the Creator generates for the created being. Of course, only in the eyes of the created being. But the created being can climb according to the order of the development of the records can climb from below up?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, half of it and maybe it's a very sharp switch but how does that relate to our effort in connection, our day-to-day work in the Ten, the awakening of the point of the heart, the drawing of the reforming light? How this environment that is beyond our feeling? Why do we need to be so detailed? We're seemingly looking for that first point of development, of connection, of connection with the Creator. Does it matter to us if it's the world of Beria or Yetzira, or Assiya?

M. Laitman: No, to us, it does not matter. However, the development has to be according to order from below, up.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (35:24) In everything we just scrutinized, how does our work accelerate the process of development, the ascent of the worlds of BYA to Atzilut, how does that accelerate it? It's a necessary process, no one can stop it. But whenever we make an effort, seemingly, we have this concept of accelerating the times. How does that influence the process of ascending?

M. Laitman: By us raising our desire to the next point in our development from below upward, by that, we cause an ascent.

Student: Is that felt in our feelings?

M. Laitman: It is manifested in a feeling within us.

Student: In what way?

M. Laitman: A desire.

Student: A stronger desire?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (36:36) Is the world of Assiya the purest or the coarsest?

M. Laitman: It depends, we always have this oppositeness. Assiya is the coarsest world of all, and according to the world from below, upwards, every next world is more dark.

Student: The purpose of the ascending of BYA to Atzilut, what is that purpose?

M. Laitman: In order to elevate the souls.

Student: What happens to them in Atzilut?

M. Laitman: Through these ascents, they receive a greater influence of the upper light.

Student: They incorporate with the light, is it about that?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: But it's not the end of their correction?

M. Laitman: No, the end of their Correction comes later.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (37:50) We can understand from this that there are souls and there's a world that stands somewhere there without connection to them. But all of this is only inside the desire. There's nothing outside of the desire.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: It's correct to say that after all the shattering and everything, there are desires to receive that are disconnected completely from the Creator, they are in total impurity. In them, you have these Reshimot. Meaning extinguished desires that are not active to connect to the Creator. Now, this ascent is the activation of these desires but it doesn't change. The will to receive remains the same dirty, impure will to receive. It just puts on a clothing, a cover.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, there's a reckoning of the spark and there's a correction there. There's a correction that brings it closer, that helps the Kli to change.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: The spark was there and the impure desire, those corporeal desires, don't disappear. So, what's changed for a person who's suddenly in the world of Asiya, Yetzira, Beria?

M. Laitman: What changes is in the influence of the upper light. It awakens the person and gives him the possibility to ascend.

Student: Yes, the light was always there, it is constantly there. What changes in a person for the light to suddenly work on him and he is able to receive it? You say, we make a screen. What does it mean we make a screen? You take a substance and you make a change so that you see the change in our world. What is that change in spirituality, what does it do there? There are murky desires that don't change, what changes?

M. Laitman: It's not exactly the way that you describe it. The desire that was in order to receive the way it was before, that's how it remains. However, it can become refined, it can rise to higher degrees.

Student: That's my question, what does it mean to be purified if it remains the same?

M. Laitman: It doesn't remain the same, that's what I'm saying. It does not remain the same, it is constantly changing. And it adapts itself to higher and higher degrees.

Student: It puts a certain form of enforcement, wrapping? Oh, a wrapper. I'm sorry, the murky desire. It surrounds itself, wraps itself in something else? Or it changes by itself?

M. Laitman: It changes by itself.

Question (Woman Turkiye 8): (41:16) What does it mean that the measure of revelation in the vessel is also the measure of concealment in the vessel?

M. Laitman: Revelation and concealment, they are revealed, seemingly, together. It's like when you go into some place, let's say into a cave with light, with fire. And you start to discover something there. So, as much as you have light in your hand, you discover new things. Things that are smaller, more particular, and along with that, it brings you questions. Meaning, the revelation is all built on the revelation of the concealment. And only on the condition that we can rise above the concealment, we truly reach a state where we draw the light, the reforming light. And in this way, we elevate ourselves on the ladder.

Question (Woman PT 6): (43:06) What is actually hidden from us in the Ten?

M. Laitman: What's hidden, I cannot say. You will see, compared to what we're studying, how many things are actually concealed from you.

Question (Woman Unity): (43:32) What does it mean to operate according to the awakening of the records in the Ten?

M. Laitman: To work according to the awakening of the records. That's what we need.

Student: What does that mean?

M. Laitman: The fact that these records awaken and we awaken to our corrections according to those records.

Student: What are records? How can we feel that?

M. Laitman: Reshimot, records, from every state that used to be, we are left with records from the light and from the vessel.

Question (Latin 1): (44:35) Should we believe that our prayers cause an ascent for the souls even if we have no perception or feeling of that?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Woman Petah Tikva 6): (44:49) Is the ascent on the ladder deepening, the depth of the connection in the Ten? Is the deepening, the depth of the connection in the Ten, deeper connection, means an ascent on the ladder?

M. Laitman: The ascent on the ladder, we can measure the depth we're in.

Student: How do we check this depth? How do we measure it?

M. Laitman: According to the actions, according to the screens – ascents and descents.

Question (Asia): (45:37) Is the point in the heart, the Achoraim, the posterior, of the soul?

M. Laitman: You can say that.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (45:52) What goes up? The souls go up, right, with the worlds. What goes up when a process of correction takes place?

M. Laitman: The souls.

Student: But we said the souls are a desire to bestow. So, how is this related to the will to receive?

M. Laitman: The will to receive that acquired form of bestowal, clothes in it, and in this way, it ascends.

Student: When we say that the souls and the worlds go up, where is the will to receive hidden here? And also, what is its form, it's no longer a will to receive. Now it's a desire to bestow because it is a soul?

M. Laitman: No, no, hold on, start again. Start over.

Student: That's the center of my question, where does it start? There's the will to receive, which is disconnected from the worlds. I think even from Assiya, right, and so on. Now, somehow, when it performs an action of correction it becomes a soul in itself? The will to receive becomes a soul that rises up?

M. Laitman: The will to receive, when it receives correction and has NRN is capable of rising above and acting.

Student: In order to receive this correction, how does it undergo a correction? It somehow needs to be incorporated inside the system in order to rise.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: How does it become incorporated in this system? What connects it to the system itself, to the soul?

M. Laitman: From where the upper light comes that is now shining in its degree. That light in this degree can adapt itself to the light that is shining to the point that they will connect. And then, the desire that is annulled before the light, the desire rises with the light to a higher degree.

Student: What suddenly makes it into a soul or a desire to bestow?

M. Laitman: A soul is the name for it.

Student: Of the state of the will to receive when it's with this light?

M. Laitman: Yes, in that degree.

Student: A soul, as we speak now, is the will to receive that mixes with the light that can raise it up. So, the will to receive in that direction of rising up. That's what we call a Neshama, a soul?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (49:12) I wanted to scrutinize a point and I hope I understood it, correctly: To follow up on the friend that you, before you told the friend that the desire defines itself. According to its development, as it rises higher and higher, it changes. You said, there's no cover over the desire. Desire changes, but it has no cover. So what does it mean that love covers all crimes? You also told us before that the best development for us is love on the path. So, what does it mean that love covers all crimes if this desire has no covers?

M. Laitman: There's no such thing that exists without a cover. At least, there should be concealment according to his degree. And then, when it wants to ascend even higher instead of a screen and reflected light, it is prepared to resemble the degree above it.

Student: The desire, itself, where does the change actually occur? This is just some sort of substance, raw matter, that the Creator created. And the Creator gives the changes so it can adapt itself better and better to get closer to Him, according to the changes and equivalence of form with Him. So, when we say love covers all crimes, this cover, what is it? I feel that there is already some desire that the Creator created, but He gives us, He lets us every time to get closer to Him through this cover called love covers all crimes. So, what is this cover that we say love covers all crimes?

M. Laitman: It’s the screen.

Student: It's a screen that each time we strengthen more and more, it becomes stronger?

M. Laitman: This speaks of adhesion in the upper one that needs to always be first with his love. And then he will have adhesion with the upper one.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (51:35) It's about revelation and concealment. The more there is light, what happens to the darkness?

M. Laitman: You can't see the darkness.

Student: The darkness disappears and there's more light.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And if the darkness disappears, more and more, then this principle of the advantage of light out of darkness is cancelled.

M. Laitman: No, this speaks relative to a person who attains the darkness. And after that, he's capable of attaining the light.

Student: And then the complete state, the whole state is when he experiences one opposite the other – the darkness versus the light or is it only light now?

M. Laitman: It must feel them alone, separately, both.

Student: The more revelation there is, what exactly happens to the darkness? Does it disappear or is it felt opposite the revelation?

M. Laitman: It's always found as a sort of a backdrop.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (52:55) What deficiency causes the ascent of the worlds?

M. Laitman: Deficiency for incorporating in the Creator.

Student: We learn that the lights of Nefesh and Ruach do not cause the ascent of the worlds. So, what is the difference, here? That specifically, the deficiency for the light of Neshama, I mean, what is this leap that suddenly that causes the ascent of the worlds?

M. Laitman: Because the light of Neshama, you already have records from the state of the vessel.

Student: And beforehand?

M. Laitman: Before that did not felt that much.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (54:03) Just in order to feel more: A baby that perceives reality opposite a grown-up that perceives reality. Can we say that each one perceives a different world?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, reality is the same reality, but the perception is different. What does it mean about the worlds, now, and the one who perceives them? Because I hear that the worlds are in motion, seemingly they change. So, is it the one who perceives who changes them – this baby, or grown-up, they can influence the reality, it will suddenly be in motion according to the change in their perception?

M. Laitman: Again, ask from the beginning.

Student: Reality, as I know, is fixed, permanent, this is the reality. Now, the one who perceives reality – here comes my question: if a change in the perception of reality influences also reality, itself?

M. Laitman: Relative to that person?

Student: With respect to that person?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: When we say that the worlds rise, the worlds of BYA rise. What elevates them? Is it the one who receives, the will to receive when it changes it also influences the worlds, it elevates them?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What does it mean about the will to receive if we say that the worlds rise? What does it mean about the will to receive, what has changed in it that caused the worlds to ascend?

M. Laitman: The will to receive that appears becomes finer, purer. And that's why it passes greater light down below, called an ascent. It gives the lower one the ability to feel more, to understand more, to see. That's why it's called an ascent, an addition of light.

Student: Now it sounds as though the will to receive, the moment that it changes, it seemingly creates for itself a reality, or an environment for development that is more suitable. Is that correct?

M. Laitman: No because the will to receive doesn't start the change.

Student: The change comes from the light.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: The light changes the will to receive.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Through the change in the will to receive, it influences the reality of these worlds, or the perception of reality?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Actually, the light, that's really the process, right?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (57:32) Can we say that all the changes in the will to receive are the process of acquiring a screen, and then the strength of the screen is all by the screen and reflected light?

M. Laitman: Again?

Student: The entire process of the development of the will to receive from below upward is a process that begins by acquiring a screen and reflected light. And then each time the screen becomes stronger, and we have more reflected light, and up to Ein Sof? This is what happens, such changes? Another question: we actually speak about times but in spirituality there are no times. What we have is actually, let's say the state of the soul of Adam HaRishon before the shattering is a state that exists in potential. And the process that occurs from below upwards is to discover this state in actuality?

M. Laitman: The process that took place from below up.

Student: The process we're now exerting in trying to create a stronger connection between us is to discover in actuality a state that exists in potential. Can we say such a thing?

M. Laitman: We could say that.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (58:58) I'd like to continue scrutinizing the matter of the records: I heard you say that we should use them in order to ascend – use the records in order to rise. Now, if in the Ten a record comes to us, it is revealed. We said before that it's revealed as something that is unpleasant but it actually comes in order to promote us. So, what should occur in the Ten so that the record that comes, even if it is unpleasant, we will feel that there is a means for advancement, here?

M. Laitman: It depends on how you accept it, receive it.

Student: What do you mean?

M. Laitman: If you're willing to receive everything that comes from above in a mutual desire in order to rise and reveal the Creator. That's how you connect, you determine that your development is only to reveal the Creator in order to give Him contentment.

Student: So, everything we see, disasters of various states in the world, these are actually records that are being revealed? And the world is not ready for it, so it's revealed in such a brutal way. And people also don't manage to relate it to a way of advancing.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Another question: The more we will advance on the way in spirituality. Or let's say a Kabbalist who discovers records, he immediately, even though these records could be unpleasant, states that are not simple. But he immediately detects that as a means to advance, he sees it as something that he can advance with now?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:01:04) More about the records: The records, as we said, there are records of clothing, and records of coarseness, records of male or female. So, there is always revelation of records. The first thing that we need to look for in the state that we're in, in every state is, am I bestowing or receiving? Is this something that I can truly hold on to?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What is that? In every state, every record, either I bestow with it, or I receive in it.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Ashkelon 2): (01:02:01) We know the order of receiving in order to bestow that occurred in the world of AK and developed more and more until Adam HaRishon, right? When he performed the last action of receiving in order to bestow and there, a shattering occurred. I'm asking, when does the created being return to that same structure of the work of receiving in order to bestow? And in what form does that happen? I don't know if the question is so clear.

M. Laitman: No.

Student: I'll try to rephrase it.

M. Laitman: I can understand but how do you want me to answer you?

Student: I’ll ask again with your permission. From below up, from the state that we're in now, we will return to the work called receiving in order to bestow? It will be similar work as it was in the state of AK? Or as it was done in Adam HaRishon when he receives, he has a screen and later bestows to the Creator? Or is it different?

M. Laitman: Maybe, what’s next?

Student: I just wanted to understand. The mechanism will work from below upwards, from above downwards. Is it similar from below upwards? Is it similar or different?

M. Laitman: It's similar.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:04:09) You were asked before, what is the best possible way to awaken workers in the Ten? And you answered that the best way is to develop love between the friends in the Ten. This sentence really grabbed me. How do we develop love between the friends in the Ten?

M. Laitman: How to develop, I can't say, this is great work for it to develop. But once it develops this quality to love the friend and then, just like the wisdom of Kabbalah demands, that's something great.

Student: Usually, we speak about feeling the deficiency of the friend or the friends, asking for those deficiencies. But to develop love, it's similar to pay attention not to each and every friend but the connection between them.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Should we first feel the connection between the friends?

M. Laitman: We have to come closer to it, and then to see.

Student: Are there any exercises we can do for that, specifically about that?

M. Laitman: Yes, we constantly make such exercises of coming closer.

Student: Should it only be from me towards the friends, or is it something that is common between us?

M. Laitman: It's common.

Student: What is my action towards that?

M. Laitman: Just to show them that you love them.

Student: Just to show them?

M. Laitman: It's not only that you bestow to them but that you want to develop love between them to you; and from you to them.

Student: So, from me towards them, that's somehow clear. But between them, you said develop love between them?

M. Laitman: Not between them but from them to you.

Student: From them to me, so from me to them and from them to me.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: But in the first sentence, you said develop love between the friends in the Ten.

M. Laitman: Among them is in general, speaking in general.

Student: I don't know how to ask it but the feeling is that this is something really precious, this connection precisely between the friends. But to enter emotionally into this network, how do we enter this network? How do we exist inside this network between the friends all the time? Or even not all the time, even how do we just enter it?

M. Laitman: Wherever you can add to the relationships between them and the love between them. Wherever you can add, then go in there and add.

Student: So again, you're saying the relations between them that I need to add to the love between them, I have to awaken love between them?

M. Laitman: At least to be one more like them.

Student: So, my focus, I need to focus on me? I need to love the friends or is it something that is between us that needs to light up, to develop?

M. Laitman: This has to develop.

Student: Between us?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:08:17) You said before that there is an impression from the lights and an impression in the vessels. If we, ultimately, discover the vessel, what does that mean that there is an impression of the lights?

M. Laitman: The vessels are impressed by the lights that fill those vessels, that shake and move those vessels.

Student: The light is a kind of a vessel?

M. Laitman: No, something completely different.

Student: And yet, the vessel can feel an impression of the lights?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:09:15) If I love someone, automatically, I know what he's lacking. Automatically, I want to bestow to him – I'm talking in this world. Is it the same in the spiritual world?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, my love towards the friends is in order to detect what is it that they want, what is it that they need?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Belarus): (01:09:45) According to what I understand, according to the measure of correction of the will to receive, the will to receive becomes more refined and it passes more light downwards. And therefore it elevates the lower one. So, who is the lower one then?

M. Laitman: Whoever is on the ladder.

Student: Are they friends or external world?

M. Laitman: Of course, the friends.

Student: Equivalence of form on the ladder. What does that mean?

M. Laitman: It means that we understand one another.

Question (Turkiye 1): (01:10:23) What does it mean that we receive according to the degree we are in in the Ten Sefirot?

M. Laitman: When the light comes to us, fills us, corrects our vessels, according to how much we are on the ladder of degrees. One relative to the other. We haven't entered into this yet, you're asking a little bit before it's starting to happen to us.

Question (Kyiv 1): (01:11:35) You said that together with our prayer, we can become incorporated in the rule of our soul. You also said that the revelation of the records gives us an opportunity to rise on the ladder of the Sefirot or worlds, Partzufim. How do we do it through the prayer in order to become incorporated in the rule of our soul?

M. Laitman: We wish to rise to the highest degree that we can even imagine. In this case, we can always be in equivalence to higher degrees.

Student: How do we implement this in the direction of the prayer between us?

M. Laitman: I want it, I demand it from the higher degree. I invest all my efforts into it in my degrees.

Student: What is the nearest degree to the connection between us in the root of our soul for which I need to ask for my Ten?

M. Laitman: I don't know, I truly don't know. Start from Malchut.

Student: Which Malchut, our general Malchut?

M. Laitman: Yes, start from that; very quickly you'll rise higher.

Student: How do I ask for it, that we will be included in our general Malchut?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Malchut of the world of Assiya or something higher?

M. Laitman: Yes, Malchut of the world of Assiya.
