Part 1:

Rabash. Article No. 38, 1989.  What Are Judges and Officers in the Work?

Reading Article: (00:44) It is written, “You shall appoint for yourself….”

1. S. (28:30) He says there are two actions here, first I'm impressed by Rabash's article the third time we're reading with the ten before sleep, and each time you're discovering complete worlds it's like for the first time, it’s truly awesome, I have to mention that. He says that you should place a judge of truth, that's one action, and then to ask that's what he defined, the officers will execute this on the body. How do you come to a judge of truth?

R. We come back to the matter of the group, that in practice we have to accept the authority of the group whatever it forces a person, whatever it explains to a person, that this is called the truth that he must keep it. Then through those friends, he receives from the Creator the forces and he carries it out, that to begin with it was completely not according to his desire, not according to his understanding because he did not have the truth in him.

2. S. (30:17) How do you make the greatness of the judge, the Creator greater in the Ten?

R. Through the ten, as much as the ten is great in your eyes it can serve as a springboard, that with this springboard you can jump to a greater height, and in this way, we actually reach a higher degree.

3. S. (31:15) He writes that the judge is the body that's in the heart and you have to locate it. What is this judge altogether?

R. It's an inner feeling of the person.

S. How to make it from worthy and not worthy?

R. It's according to what you adhere to within your heart.

4. S. (31:45) The question is about in all your Gates. He says you should put judges and officers in all your Gates and then he asks what is in all your Gates. In simplicity it sounds like in every gate we should put judges and officers and we should interpret the gates like the Holy Zohar. It says in the verse “And her husband is known in all the Gates. Meaning that each according to what he can contemplate in his heart, meaning to the extent to which one can depict in his heart the greatness and all exaltedness of the Creator.  A person needs to put forth judges and officers there, so he'll be able to make it practically executed.” I understand that I don't understand, in your Gates.

R. According to your estimation.

S. For example there's a gate here downstairs when I come through and I check really quickly and carefully that things that shouldn't enter don't enter and doesn’t belong to the morning lesson is not supposed to enter. When I leave here, I want to preserve this sanctity and not to let it mix with the mundane daily things, are those the correct actions?

R. Well these are not actions yet, let's say so, yes, meaning as much as I assume in my heart the greatness of the Creator accordingly, I give measures called Gates, Shalme in Hebrew verses measures to the forces that can awaken and direct me.

5. S. (33:56) I understand what it is to work due to the greatness of the Creator. Let's say that I can't understand what is for the Creator, to be in joy, what is it for the benefit of the Creator?

R. The Creator explains to us which of our actions he enjoys, that is all.

S. Isn't there let's say, the greatness of the Creator we can add in the ten and can give more greatness to a person, but in the matter of the benefit of the Creator it's simply like that and there's no how-to intensify it, or there's no way to add each time to make sure that the Creator’s enjoying more?

R. All the degrees that we talked about, are all only degrees of our bestowal to the Creator.

S. But how to make sure that he's enjoying it?

R. That's not for us yet, we can't feel it yet.

6. S. (35:22) How is the truth defined, determined?

R. The truth is determined when a person can rise above his desire and adhere to a worthy judge. From that degree, he asks the Creator.

S. But who holds on to the truth, according to what can you say that is the truth?

R. As much as a person holds on to the Creator he holds on to the truth.

S. Do you have a way to examine this? Meaning, can you know if you are operating towards the truth?

R. Yes, well you have to be devoted to the society as we learned many times, and to be in this devotion, also to extend it, to continue it, to the Creator, and then to see how much it exists within you more and more in all those actions and states that the Creator takes you through. Then you determine the degree that you can be on in a way that you're holding on to the truth.

S. What does it mean that the person's holding on to the truth, that he has truth?

R. That he is willing to give everything in order not to let go of that state, the degree of adhesion that he has attained.

S. This state called truth, what is it and what happens there in the truth?

R. He discovers how much he is similar to the Creator, how much they are going to together.

S. How does he identify whether he is going correctly or not?

R. As much as he rises above his ego.

7. S. (38:34) On the path you see after you're there for many years, sometimes it happens like you're planting in your heart things that are foreign and they're starting to receive forces. It's like you've planted something, and you have to be cautious each time and not to deviate and it's like these processes. It's not like you made a mistake now but it's like he truly describes that you planted the wrong judge. How to be careful to grasp that the direction is not correct?

R. There is nothing which is permanent and holy, but rather a person must check each time. Everything starts from zero. This is called to appoint judges and officers in all the gates. Anytime you enter some scrutiny, first of all, you appoint judges and officers.

S. Is it each time anew?

R. Yes of course because each and every degree has all the components, the elements anew.

S. He writes here that everyone who judges the judgment of truth and truth merits the next world then all the nations of the world and his body see the truth, that is they merit the good and delight that is in the will of the Creator. What in the end will bring those nations of the world that have desires for himself and decide we're going with the Creator?

R. Because his goal is to invert all his desires in order to bestow, he wants all the nations of the world within him to be under the rule of the Creator.

S. And that decision, that approach, is what will be decisive where he will get those desires for himself will go with him?

R. Yes.

8. S. (41:37) Can we do some order in the work between the first step that you appoint a judge and then later when the officer comes and does his work from the potential to the practical? How do you differentiate them?

R. This is actually the difference between potential and actuality. These are the two steps that a person has to take toward the correction.

S. From the writing it sounds like the action you have is to appoint the judge and afterward, the officers need to come and execute it. Then there's this prayer that you have to give this force to overcome, but what is that transition from the moment you appoint a judge to the moment the officer comes?

R. When the judge completes his work, then officers come, and they carry out the work.

S. Where do they come from; how do I call those officers?

R. From the same force that you asked the judge to execute or to have the verdict.

S. Is it necessarily an action that I have to carry out?

R Each and everything a person has to participate to a certain extent.

9. S. (43:16) What is an unworthy judge?

R. Well let’s say he's not honest.

S. And if we say that a judge is an inner feeling of a person then there's a person that he sees that what he feels is not so honest towards his goal?

R. Yes.

S. What's the difference between the officers that belong to the judge of truth and not the judge of truth, is there a difference in the officers?

R. No, the officers just execute whatever they're told.

S. They're the same forces of the body or how does a person, well I thought that there's the matter of potential and where a person has to do a certain scrutiny and he has some introspection in the matter of the judge. Then he has to do this in practicality, so he did the right scrutiny or the incorrect scrutiny, and then after that according to what does he operate? What impacts him?

R. Whatever is revealed to him.

S. To put a judge on the gate, what is that in the ten? How do we work that way in practicality?

R. The Creator appoints the officers certainly according to our request, according to our inclinations.

S. That's not the concern on behalf of the ten that there's like different states of the ten like we have a gate, and we have to make sure that in every state there's a judge, judgment, and an officer behind every scrutiny that we did in the ten?

R. Possibly, possibly you should talk about it, and you will understand it better.

10. S. (45:39) How do I put upon myself each time that same judge if inside me there's this scale of scrutinies? How do I appoint upon myself this judge?

R. You need to know how to relay precisely to the state you're in, so your relation to that state is considered appointing a judge.

11. S. (46:23) About what you said, how we can feel the Creator is enjoying. If we can assume that if we're doing that work, as in resembling the Creator and it brings contentment to the created beings and we remain creatures by that can we feel that he's enjoying that?

R. If we bestow to people then we feel how the Creator enjoys from that.

12. S. (47:14) How can I obtain from the Creator the strength to compel the body to do what the judge has decided? My role is to pray to the Creator and to let him do the role of the officer?

R. Yes, yes try to do it this way.

13. S. (47:52) How to place in my heart the greatness of the Creator?

R. Through your connection with the friends.

S. How to go with confidence with our eyes shut after the Kabbalists and believe their truth?

R. Bit by bit, we reveal this ability, this possibility, well gradually.

14. S. (48:29) What does the verdict tell us?

R. It gives us an understanding of what work we have done, how much we continued forward, how much we did things towards the Creator, and where we are.

S. What is the worst verdict we can get?

R. That they don't accept what you want to show the court, it is considered that you're not going along with them in anything.

S. What is the best verdict we can get?

R. It's apparent that you feel that what you did is all included as a foundation for the next step.

15. S. (50:10) Everything is renewing, you also said the corporeality of a friend is renewed. Sometimes we can see that he is completely immersed in corporeality and begins to differentiate, and isolate. What's the role of the ten and of the friend that is immersed in corporality in his problems?

R. What is the role of the ten? It's to try to connect and check itself and bring everyone closer to the center of the ten so that everyone will connect there.

16. S. (51:17) The true judge is in our intention?

R. What do you mean our intention?

S. To judge to a scale of truth?

R. Of course we want to hear a judge who speaks the truth. It doesn't depend on the judge, it depends on us, how much I appoint above me a judge of truth.

17. S. (52:36) Rabash describes in an amazing way this internal process, in what part can I truly do something?

R. You need to connect with the friends and out of the connection with them decide upon which is the request from the Creator that you'll want to get from Him and then pray.

18. S. (53:18) Help guide us towards the direction of the Creator. Do the officers help us connect and the judges are the greatness of the Creator in connection with the friends in my heart? Can we say that the Creator operates always against the will to receive, and we feel it to the extent in which we move from one state to the extent to another, and whether it pushes us towards the direction of the friends, and in that we can feel the joy and the work and feel that way from the Creator?

R. Let's say so.

19. S. (54:29) It's right that the whole truth is when the act is true and the intention is true, so the question is, can an act be false, an action be false when the intention is true?

R. That is first of all, according to the intention we measure our actions.

20. S. (55:14) By what does a person shift from working for his own benefit to working for the benefit of the Creator?

R. From the force of awakening that he receives from above.

21. S. (55:40) What are the roles of the officers and the judges in the ten?

R. To decide and execute that which the ten decides to perform one step ahead of itself.

22. S. (56:23) The judges come in the stage between fear and love?

R. Not necessarily so.

S. It can also be before?

R. Yes.

23. S. (56:50) What should a person do so he can devote himself all the time to the Creator and to the friends at every stage?

R. To be connected through the friends to the Creator, first of all, that point of gripping between him, and the Creator, and the friends need to be held onto.

24. S. (57:34) According to the article what does it mean the seventh out of the 13 qualities when it says merciful and gracious, etc.?

R. There are these degrees of correction, and we will have to go through them later.

25. S. (58:12) What should be the relation between the action and the intention in order to reach the truth?

R. The relationship between the action and the intention? First of all, the intention and when we examine it and arrange it correctly, then from that intention we begin to perform the action.

26. S. (59:08) Why does the judge, instead of giving us the power to give Him contentment in the work, why does He take away this power?

R. He gives us the force because our work is not to perform any actions besides adhering to the Creator, by which our success will be.
