Part 1

1. Rav’s Introduction: This week we've been emphasizing the Bereshith portion. we've been learning it day after day, week after week. Other than that, what's important to us in order to connect the topic of the portion of the week to our lives, it's important for us to understand the general trend, the general direction of creation. We understand that it begins from the shattering. hence it is called Briyah, creation, Bar, something that is outside of the unification outside of the quality of the Creator. In order to come back to correction, the Creator and be in the true creation, spiritual one, we have to unite, connect. As this whole process that occurs with all of creation from the desire on the side of the creations the creatures and that which is above them they need to operate towards connection in unity other than there's nothing else to discover other than unification which is the purpose of our development.   Since we also need to in our actions, our daily actions, to think how we are operating towards unity towards correction. This is expressed in us through actions that are aimed towards the unification of the nation which mostly are led by some who are well known to us.  When it comes to us and all together also in the whole world and all our friends we need more and more to increase the actions of connection actions of unity, Such that we should resist all those forces of separation that awaken which one's cause separation and still today was shattered and divided human society and every nation and within the nation's to other parts.  We see this in all the countries and this is really the reason for the deterioration of humanity to the emergence of mankind's ego outwards, so that it will be in control.  The most important thing to understand in our development to bring forth its unity between us. We need to be an example to everyone in this and this is the essential foundation for our correction. We will see this also in the portion of the week and in our work, the correction of the Kli, of the shattered Kli that was given to us was done so only to connect and in unification.  Good luck.

12. Baal HaSulam, "The Meaning of Conception and Birth", Emulating Creation.

When looking at the seal of the work of creation, we find there the words, “Which God has created to do.” This means that the work of the Creator, which is set in the creation before us, is given to us in order to do and to add to it. Otherwise, the words “to do” would have been completely redundant and meaningless, and it would have to say, “For in it He rested from all His work which God has created.” So why were the words “to do” added here? It must be that this verse teaches us that the full extent of the work that the Creator has left in creation is in the exact measure, no more and no less, but the extent that enables us to perform its development and completion by ourselves. In truth, our entire development in creation is but emulation of it.

 

2. R. Meaning all that the Creator created all that he arranged in creation is all aimed towards our participation that the Creator created to do. To do means belongs to us already, that means we need to invite the correction, the forces of nature the Creator himself participates in all these corrections and comes with us into a partnership.  Everything follows our decision to do, as the creation is not as it is cascading and going and we just are in it in a passive way and it just kind of goes by us or above us, necessarily happening to us.  But rather that we have to define here a form of development and this is important.  Of course we will eventually come to the same goal, the same state that the Creator has aimed to start with for us to come to identification with him to Dvekut, to adhesion with him.  But there's a matter of participation as we need to bring forth connection, unity through this unification between us we cause all of creation to move faster and on the side of the creations it's exactly the way the Creator to give man the possibility to do, and we need to not forget this and be passive like all of humanity, which doesn't understand what is needed and demanded of it.  Rather through this word that the Creator has created to do, to see our whole purpose our whole fate that if we don't Implement correctly that which is upon us to do, then certainly we are evoking forces that obligate us to do that in a negative way.  On the contrary if we see how we can assist the process to do, meaning to move ourselves towards the purpose of creation that our state will be okay. We will understand and recognize and then feel what needs to be done and how to do and how to be a partners in creation. Therefore this sentence from the Torah that the Creator created to do so in truth that God created to do meaning, all that he created meaning all that he took out of perfection that was is in order for us to do our direction our movement towards the state of adhesion.

3. S. (10:33) The children always complete the parents, it's not exactly clear to me if the Creator has no deficiency then why do we need to complete it?

R. We don't need to complete the Creator we need to complete ourselves we need to come to a state in which we don't understand and are connected disconnected from spirituality from the true world, we are in an unconscious way just like someone who is sick is in that state and we need to bring our state ourselves back into consciousness, where are we who we really and what world we are in.

4. S. (11:29) It says here that the issue is that clearly the allegory teaches us the form of the work, the Creator instilled in the created beings no more no less to complete the development and…

R. If the Creator does everything we have nothing to do but to see what state we are in and what we want to do and demand for it to happen.  We don't need to ask the question half the article. We need to understand what state we're in, and depict to ourselves what state we need to be in and to demand to return to the corrected state.

13. RABASH, Article No. 27 (1985), "Repentance"

It is written, ‘In the beginning God created,’ and there is no beginning but Israel, as it was said (Jeremiah, 2), ‘Israel was holy to the Lord, the first of His harvest.’’”

Therefore, everything we learn in upper worlds is only so the souls will receive the upper abundance, as it is known that the purpose of creation is to do good to His creations. In order to correct the disparity of form that governs Malchut herself, who is called “receiving in order to receive,” since disparity of form causes separation in spirituality, and this Kli, called Malchut, is the Kli of all the souls from which man was created. He must correct it so that all the vessels of reception will work in order to bestow.

 

5. R. This is the point actually where we receive the corrupted desire that is completely in order to receive, we are not even aware of this, that we are operating in it, because it is all for me in this world in the reality that I see. In the other reality other than in order to receive, I cannot see because this is how I am built and other than this reality there are other worlds, additional worlds that even scientists, physicists talk about there being more that we are in some place that we don't know, we don't understand, only a small part that is revealed to us and why is that very small part revealed to us?  Because we are in nature in a perception only according to receiving in order to receive and only in order to receive is in the senses that we have, in our perceptions, in our understanding in our mind and heart.  To come to a complete perception that there is a much greater part of all of what is. We need to expand our vessels. Not to be only in order to receive, but also in order to bestow, to emerge from ourselves outwards and start feeling things are outside of us. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us.  Hence that the Creator created to do is to bring our vessel of reception, also to vessels of bestowal also to state where we can see what is outside of us outside of our interest, outside of our desire, our egoistic desire.  Other than the fact that he just wants to absorb and absorb for us, to also want to see things that exist, not towards us that we have good from this or bad from this or that  I feel, that I will be able to feel them so that I will be able to feel them, I will have to be in vessels that don't belong to me, they're not attributed to me. All these phenomena that's called to be above reason, bestowal above reception and this is how we come to the complete perception of reality.  The perception that we now receive and feel is called a bodily reception, because that's in order to receive and for myself and the perception we will develop and feel as being outside of us is called the perception in the soul, in order to bestow, emerging outward from ourselves. So we need to understand that we are receiving and feeling now only a very small part of reality and also that part is false, is warped because it's felt in us only according to our qualities, to our vessels and if we want to perceive that which is really outside of us and where we are and also to see ourselves who we really are in a true way, we need to rise above our vessels to vessels of bestowal.  That's called to be in place above reason and perception of reality that's outside of us, in a way that we reject reception and in bestowal, just like the reality outside of us is, we can reveal it in a complete manner.

6. S. (20:28) Will we see the true reality the same way or everyones ego will paint it in a different color?

R. We will see a true reality not in our ego but in bestowal opposite our ego where it's written that the Creator created to do is for us to build our vessels of bestowal emerging out of ourselves in order to feel the true world where we truly exist.  We build above or on our ego such that in this exit. This is called faith above reason, bestowal above reception if in such a way we can build our attitude, perception, reception of that which is outside of us into reality, this is how we feel the upper world, the upper reality.  This is what we need to reach. This means that our work is first to rise above our egos and then we can see the true world that is not warped, corrupted by my ego, but rather how it is existing as it really is that's what we need to come to.

7. S. (22:47) It turns out that when Israel corrected themselves in the first and second temple and descended from that, they still have to add all of humanity and that is symbolized by Malchut?

R. It's called the group which came out as result of all humanity in ancient Babylonia, where all of them couldn't receive, couldn’t accept, understand what Abraham was recommending for them to do in rising above their ego and connecting together.  They were in a big ego, in a big quarrel between them those who understood that they must rise above their egos in connection between them, they left Babel headed by Abraham. As we learn in Babel there were 70 nations of the world kind of nations, kind of groups, encampments and from them this group is made up of which is called Israel. This group received from Abraham the method of correction and has gone mid through to this day they are called Yehudim, from the word Yehud,  unity, unification and they're called Israel to their goal to reach Yashar Kel, direct to the Creator, to the revelation of the Creator.  On one hand they are Jews, those who unified between them, I talked about this before this lesson and we need to first operate towards unification of the people and unification of our group, then towards the connection of the whole world, that's clear. But you start with that, what you have which we must from the days of our birth in ancient Babel where Abraham was and this is how we actually implement the Torah.  We're in our times, we are starting to discover the force of unification upon the force of separation. Our separation arise from the shattering of the Sitra Achra, the Klipot from that which is against the Upper Force and the connection actually comes from him, hence when we see in all of reality that's before us this force of separation and how they operate, we need to see in this the force of the Sitra Achra, the force which opposes the correction of the world. and it's also in our times we need to operate towards the unification of the people.

8. S. (26:28) You speak about actions of unity we know we learned that the end of the actions in the preliminary thought, can you say some thoughts about the importance of relevance of prayer in the ten?

R. Prayer the thing is that we are in the will to receive that is completely the will to receive, the Creator created us that way, so that we will bring this desire to the opposite form in order to bestow. The forces that unite the desires that we don't have and all our lives also in this world and also in the spiritual world which is mainly done in the attainment of the worlds which resemble the Creator and are called the upper worlds. We can only attain by the Upper Force as we receive it and it influences us.  This is why we need to turn to the Creator for him to give this to us, that's how it's arranged. because by us wanting to exit the state we are in, to better states, more sublime states. When we ask him, we come closer to him, we approach him, we start to identify that higher more exalted states, our connection with the Creator is actually the same thing. To start with he doesn't seem to us that way, what do I need the Creator for I need to feel good, I need to understand, to feel, to do, to be the boss and I don't really have some kind of attraction to the Creator. That's done on purpose. So the separation especially is with the Upper force, the Upper state not with that's what I feel in my inner states.  Therefore what happens to us, that we begin to feel that I cannot attain anything. To change to the good unless I turn to the Creator and receive forces from him and do with these forces some actions and then I come to the good states. Then I learn that in my life that I must each time turn to the Creator and this is why Kabbalists write about this, that every spiritual thing is attained only through the force of prayer, request raising MAN, raising a lack, a deficiency where I just understand who I am now.  I understand what I want to have, what state I want to be in, and the gap between now in the future, the gap between what exists and what is desirable is called a deficiency, and that deficiency I raise to the Upper force and ask of Him that I want to do this ascent and they all might participating in rising from state-to-state was only in the request, only in the request nothing else was demanded of me. Look at how our work is very simple, we just can't concentrate on this, only to ask, and to ask as much as possible in a precise way, and the Creator as we say will finish things for me.  He will do, because anyway I can't do anything, I don’t have the force of bestowal where I can raise myself one degree to another but to discover the lack for ascending spiritually I can. But I also need to check how I'm doing this because I don't have a deficiency for spiritual ascent, to start with I have a natural way, a deficiency to benefit myself, a desire to benefit, I want to be healthy or healthier than everyone, stronger and healthier, whole and everything until I control everything. This is why these questions of mine are my problems, my requests do not reach the Creator, the force of the light as only he does these changes in nature. They don't come, because I am demanding things that are completely not what I need according to the plan of creation. Therefore my requests are corrupted, so it's just like the program on a computer where I do certain commands that I want to receive something but my commands on the computer are not correct so what will happen, nothing happens.  By then it turns out that I'm constantly, constantly working with the computer as if it's broken, but it's not broken, it's me who’s broken, I'm the one who's not demanding correctly from it what it needs to do. This is how we sadly don't understand one another. That's why the Torah was given to us and it explains to us the Kabbalists who have already been on this path and they succeed and they explain to us what to do. Just don't do anything else, you can go around for thousands of years from now on and nothing will happen, but asking this way that you're even in the ten and from the ten you check how much you are in connection more and more, more connected, more tight.  If you discover that it's not, then not deficiency for connection, for tighter connection, for unification, for being bound, you need to raise to the Creator and this is the only thing you need.  That's why I said this in the beginning of the lesson, the tendency for connection, for unification, for closeness between us, must be the most desirable goal and from that we attain everything.

9. S. (34:44) What happens when we don't receive, we don't correct our vessels?

R. We received bad, corrupted vessels the Creator nevertheless discloses something, and he discloses it in a corrupted way, just like our request that we are just corrupted.  Let's say a child ask for his mother from something he doesn't need, that maybe can harm him so she gives him a little of what he asks in order to see the are not correct, that our requests are not correct and how he has to change his request and this is how she teaches him this is the correct teaching this is how she teaches them. You're not going to go head-to-head with a child saying no, you won't receive, you want this, I'll give you a little of this and you will feel how this is not to your benefit and then you'll understand what I'm recommending for you to ask for what will be better for you. That's how in such a way you're teaching him that you understand what is more to his benefit and it's worthwhile for him to listen to you as far as the next states that he needs to come to and then he will already know how to ask for them in order to get to them, that's how things go. Try slowly, slowly to relate this way to children and to relate this way to yourself and to feel and understand how the Creator relates to us it's all spread before us as a upper educational system the Creator's teaching us with that's why the whole work is to teach us how to be more exalted work, Eternal complete creatures and mostly united creatures.

10.S. (37:15) You said before that the ten should always check if it's in connection, how can we check if we're in connection, what is the action, we need to talk about it, what are the parameters of chapter?

R. Out of the entire reality we are in and we don't know which reality we are in other than the small world all the rest of the states are concealed from us just like the baby that is born and doesn't know anything.  He doesn't see and hear, doesn't know how to relate to where he is, he screams, he cries and he's cared for from above, they don't relate to what he is.  He is, that's how we are, that's why we need to try in the connection between us to discern only one thing, what is it that we are missing in order to be more connected? There's no change between the kind of state that we are in and the corrected state, only connection between us. Therefore, towards this connection we need to try and move.

S. Let's say we decided we're talking about it, a few friends say no, what do you mean were in connection, we're doing the work, we're all connected and others feel that way if they're in connection?

R. There's a few that feel that they are in connection and a few that are not in connection, so let's go with those lack of connection and together we will correct it.  It's excellent that we have a lack of connection, they're revealing a deficiency in the connections between us where we all need to be connected that's excellent.  Let's do what they feel, what they're discovering that lack they have, that's how we always advance, we will always have a part that has more in a lack and more in a connection and we will always go from the connection force to that which has a lack of connection and that's how one will help his friend.  That is the mutual help completing that we do in the group, that's excellent if you discover such scrutiny.

S. So it's in the ten where suddenly a friend or two, doesn't matter, says guys I don't feel that we are like this or that, we have to treat it as a deficiency of the whole ten and take that into account?

R. All together what one feels whole ten has to accept it, as it belongs to them the whole ten.

11. S. (40:42) On the other hand we say many times that the work in the right line and we just have to raise the spirits of the ten so I can't  imagine in a situation in the Gathering of the ten I say guys we have no connection let's scatter....

R. WHo told you to talk that way, show me where it's written that way, why do you just like that spewing out words like that, what's going on with you?  It seems to you that it's unsuccessful who says we have to disburse, where are you taking such a rule?

S. No no you didn't understand me correctly I'm saying that we never say that, we never say that we are not connected on the contrary, we always try to inspire the friends and convince them that we are connected.

R. Because when we come to the first true connection, we will discover the Creator dwelling between us.

S. But how to correctly express this desire for connection in that it lacks something and not ruin the collective state of the friends, I can be harmful in expressing that?

R. Not true, when we discover a lack of connection, we're discovering something additional that we have to connect upon the connection cannot exist if we cannot discover something which to add. The fact that negative states are revealed, we receive them in a good way, I kiss the stick because it helps me be stronger. more advanced. Otherwise we will stand in the middle and nothing will happen to us. All the things are discovered only in the dynamics and advancement from our current state and we're discovering something that's bad, to a better state.

S. Still discovering this deficiency in the ten correctly?

R. S. But if still, how is it better for me to always behave towards the friends, to give them the reason to be envy that I feel a connection, that I'm in it or to express inefficiency?

R. This and that you have to show them the lack of connection that you feel and that you're not just imagining and acting. That there is such a thing on one hand, on the other hand there is a medicine here an action that you connect above the deficiency and ask for the Creator correct deficiencies, to connect between you, until the connection between that you're are in a true connection, a spiritual one and then between you the light will be revealed between you the Creator will be revealed between you.

R. Only by the experience and that's it for you that's enough for you.

12. S. (48:53) Yesterday it was said that the Creator's lack is in the ten and so is the lack of the connection between us the creator’s lack?

R. I don't know what the deficiency of the Creator is, that's a concept that is not known to me, it's a deficiency that is revealed in us due to a lack of connection, it's a deficiency from the Creator in order to come closer to Him, because he is revealed from the connection between us. You have a certain system and this system doesn't operate in a mutual way, it's an electrical system and a mechanical one and when it's not organized like it should be then you discover something is out of sorts and then you need to correct it or fix it, so all the parts will work in a mutual way and then you will discover the correct work of the system and and the right way of work is the Creator.

S. So, what does it mean to correct to direct this towards the Creator through the group?

R. That you want to arrange the group in a unified work in friendship, connection so the whole group will think only of how it complements one another, how it completes one another, how they love one another, how they are connected to one another, how they want to discover the force of unification, the force of unification between them.  The force of unification they will discover is the Creator all in all that's why until these certain vessels will unite there is no Creator, the Creator we make out of the connection between us.

S. Do we consider bringing contentment to the Creator by that?

R. Certainly, certainly if we out of the Creator being in Exile, unrevealed and we bring him to being revealed, that is called that were revealing him in our connected unified desire, the unified desire that's called we are revealing him in the land of Israel, the desire that is completely aimed directly to the Creator and that's how we reveal him.

13. S. (52:13) Synchronizing the work in the ten, there are several steps we need to try to connect to discover we're not connected and then to ask and then bring him his contentment now that Rav gives an advice like yesterday.  Try to think about bringing contentment in every action before we do that there's a series of actions we need to do so there's a question what does the ten need to work on, to think about bringing contentment before we discover our lack for it and we do it?

S. So the ten work on the greatness of the Creator now I don't understand?

R. How could it be that the upper force, the goal of faith above reason that all that belongs to Him won't be great in your eyes? So, who are you aimed towards?

S. So I started from synchronizing the work in the ten so that Rav gives an advice to ask for giving contentment to the Creator, so before we have that deficiency we have to discover the lack we are to work on the greatness of the Creator?

R. Along the way you'll discover you need to connect and there are other things missing along the way and all in all I give a certain direction a certain state even and from that state we all work, otherwise it won't be your only work or role for all BB that's why I'm saying we'll do connection between the ten, groups, people.

S. We want to reach bringing contentment to the Creator but before that we didn't discover the need for it yet, so now what we disregard our current state and work on bringing contentment to the Creator how can we work with the gap with your advice and what we actually feel in the ten?

R. Discuss it and see what to do everything into 1000 more details, I can't, and you think about it in such a way in mathematics.  Do I need to write for you some algorithm that you're doing like this and you divide it into each and every smallest detail and you will find there a place where there are other details that are missing.   I can't do that for you that's something that you do on your own, and also for you to do it, another group will also be able to do it in another way each from the state that they have from the Reshimot. We don't ask about that, it's clear to us these general things like the Kabbalists write, we must every single moment discover a lack in connection between us, because in the connection between us we reveal the Creator, that's it. Now you can connect to this a thousand questions, so just like you connect them, answer them on your own. I need to get into you and every single action, I can't. because I have like you a few other thousands and each of them has his depiction of the spiritual work.

S. I'm asking and principal let's say Rav says make every action to give bring contentment to the Creator and we don't feel it in the ten, the question is do we work on the path get there or we jump to it right away and even though we don't feel it and that's what we need to do? How I will do it as first work on to reach the deficiency to connect between us and then I will ask for it?

R. Well you already understand what to do so why are you asking me?

S. So where can the deficiency that is work on the ten yes?

R. Work on the deficiency that's felt in the ten relative, to the deficiency that's bringing contentment to the Creator between those two that you need to find the path and from. this deficiency to that one.

14. S. (58:07) In our time many times it happens that the friend express his request openly, his request to the Creator to correct the lack of connection in the ten and he calls upon everyone to join that prayer.  If I understand correctly, we all need to clarify this lack, how does he describe this correction, the connection correctly, are we supposed to all jump on it together?

R. Of course we need to discover for first all those things that are not connected and how we come to the state of connection that seem to us as advancing and to ask the Creator for him to show us how to do the path but don't dig too much how you're already starting, the main thing is a general this is what we need to come to.

15. S. (59:26) What to do with the hatred that is revealed towards the external world from which everything is truly trembling inside?

R. When I discover hatred towards the external world, I need to understand it's also coming from me, there is no external world these are external vessels that I see this way.  In the future I'll need to connect to each and everyone, and everyone together and feel they're all part of me. Because of my shattering now I feel that they are not part of me and that they are opposite and different from me, alien to me we have to relate to it like children who don't understand where they are and they have to be influenced in order to recognize what the correction is about so dissemination to them is required that's it.

16. S. (1:00:46) We're learning now the portion of Bereshith which tells us how the Creator wants to do good and bring pleasure to its creation, is this the correction with the initial thought where's the Simchat Torah here?

R. It's the beginning of the action not the end of it we ourselves need to be happy about having this path ahead of us that the Torah leads it and guides us to and let's hope that during the past we will start feeling why do we exist, what for, what is the goal and in general feeling the goal and already living in it, that's already ahead of ahead of us hopefully soon.

S. Like watching a movie that starts from the end?

R.  Friend let's stop the fantasies. 

16A. S. (1:02:04) What good sign can the ten see in advancement towards connection?

R. A good sign is that we always have additional deficiencies and that we can pray to the Creator to give us the strength to turn every deficiency to a degree of ascent to Him.

S. If we're making efforts to connection but we feel that we're not succeeding could that be a good sign that we need more effort that we need more?

R. Yes, that's always the case, but most importantly together what you want to learn how to walk correctly from one state to another, it's only on the condition that you are connected and you are learning together how to overcome every state only together without connection you can't do anything about the current state connection comes first and then in connection you learn how to advance to the correct state once again without connection you don't make any action happen it will always be to your detriment in this way.

17. S. (1:03:36) The student is asking why did you choose to open the lesson with the topic of the unification of the people, what's the importance of the unification of the people in Israel?

R. It's very important because we are at a crossroads and the more we care about the unity and connection of the people, we will advance correctly and set an example and if it will happen without unity of the people then we will see the most broken, the most shattered and it'll be a bad example and accordingly situation will keep deteriorating more and more so in our time and  in our state, where we are now I call upon everyone towards unity and connection.

18. S. (1:04:58) How can I understand that about the connection in this connection that I reveal my ego, how can I understand that?

R. Of course, you discover your ego in connection, why don't we want to connect because of your ego, why can't you submit yourself, because of your ego, why do you think this way about the friends, because of your ego, why are you opposite to the Creator in general because of your ego, how can you correct your ego? Specifically, in the group which shows you connection on the path greater increasing connection more and more.  All together we need to just move from our degree which is at the bottom of the ladder all the way to the top of the ladder 125° we go through five worlds 5 Partzufim, 5 Sephirot in each Partzuf that is 125 degrees.  What does it mean degrees it's only an addition of a broken desire that you rise above that you connect above and each time you discover a more broken desire and you overcome it with connection and each time you see a more broken desire you connect above it with more powerful connection until you rise to the degree where you finished completed all your broken desire everything that has appeared in Adam HaRishon and then you're in the final correction.  Then accordingly as you correct your desires more and more in order to be so you discover in what extent you are an equivalence, in revelation of the Creator.

S. What is this fact that I understood, that's the connection, what is this fact that I need to understand?

R. This is like connecting pieces parts of an engine let's say in the engine starts working so after the shattering which happened before us that's how the Creator prepared us so the more we are capable of connecting pieces of the souls, more and more pieces together, we begin to see that the machine begins to work better and when it begins to work, it's actually the Creator that appears, the working of the machine is the revelation of the Creator, so the more we connect ourselves together according to discover the Creator.

18A. S. (1:09:09) What is that state called joy in spirituality?

R. Joy is a result of good deeds means that we want to bestow to each other in order to connect again like those parts of the engine, when I need to connect them each and every part makes a connection with the other parts and they begin to work together reciprocally,  that each and every one has even though a character of its own and work of its own the results of each and every part are such that they connect into one global work that they do that's it, that's something each and everyone can understand.

S. How should we aim those actions?

R. Just as I explained to you and yourself that you have to be in maximum bestowal towards the friends and the same in each one towards everyone else then you all connect into a single engine that begins to work and when it begins to work it begins to reveal the Creator.

14. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 50, "Two States"

There are two forces that contradict one another, an upper force and a lower force. The upper force is, as it is written, “Everyone who is called by My Name, I have created him for My glory.” This means that the whole world was created only for the glory of the Creator. The lower force is the will to receive, which claims that everything was created for it—both corporeal things and spiritual things—all is for self-love.

The will to receive claims that it deserves this world and the next world. Of course, the Creator is the winner, but this is called “the path of suffering,” and it is called “a long way.” But there is a short way called “the path of Torah,” and this should be everyone’s intention—to shorten time.

This is called “I will hasten it.” Otherwise, it will be “in its time,” as our sages said, “rewarded—I will hasten it; not rewarded—in its time,” “when I place upon them a king such as Haman, and he will force you to reform.”

The Torah begins from Beresheet [in the beginning], etc. “And the earth was unformed and void, and darkness,” etc., and ends, “before the eyes of all of Israel.”

In the beginning, we see that the land is “unformed and void, and darkness,” but then, when they correct themselves to bestow, they are rewarded with “and God said, let there be light,” until the light appears “before the eyes of all of Israel.”

 

19. S. On one hand it is written that God created the whole of creation for His glory on the other hand it is written that also God says that creation is to do good to His creations, so it seems that there are two states even with what the Creator says how to understand this correctly?

R.  Why do you think they're opposite states?

S.  According to what Baal HaSulam wrote here it seems like a contradiction, one is to the benefit of the Creator and for the benefit of those creatures?

R.  The will to receive is the creation; it is neither good nor bad, that is creation. If there is no will to receive there would be nothing besides the Creator because the Creator is a complete desire to bestow so if you are anything that can live outside the Creator it is a will to receive. Now in what way do you want that will to receive to exist? In being against the Creator or like the Creator, and what state? You only have two states, either the will to receive that creation is similar to the Creator or opposite to the Creator, what is its direction? In order for the created being to be created and have the right to exist, to actually stand and face the Creator then the Creator creates it in the opposite form. Then leads it to a similar form, so if it is a similar form does it cancel the created being, the will to receive of the created being. The creature disappears. No. The Creator creates the will to receive and the will to receive grows in the created being more and more and the created being with the help of the Creator, but of his own accord, shapes himself like the Creator so the created beings says I want to become more and more similar to the Creator. He is as if attains the essence of the Creator, the shape of the Creator is the most sublime, there is nothing greater than that. Then the created being only wants one thing to resemble the Creator, then he asks the Creator to shape him in that way. So they can only differentiate between himself, what he is and what the Creator is and ask for the shape of the Creator. This is called the name of the Creator will be upon you.

S.  It is still hard, it is written simply in a clear way, on one hand there's a sentence that says I have created for My glory everything I have created for My glory.

R.  It is not that it is in order to not show Myself.

S.  That explains it better.

R.  When the created being takes on the shape of the Creator then he reveals the Creator because the Creator in himself does not exist. Specifically when the created being takes on the shape of the Creator, the shape of bestowal that is the appearance of the Creator in the world. How does He appear? When the created being displays Him, it is like you have a stage, a theater and the Creator is somewhere like a spirit out there, but then a person comes on the stage and acts out the Creator, so this is called in My honor I have created. So the created being has a very unique role, he reveals and presents and plays out the Creator, embodies the Creator.

20. S. (1:18:27) What does it mean to be rewarded with and God said let there be light?

R.  Rabash writes  about this beautifully that the revelation of light means that the created being begins to understand the action of bestowal is lofty and desired.

S.  A person hates the Creator to the extent that he hates anything in the world as we learned yesterday so as we advance and reveal the evil between us which is literally an endless process, how can we explain this thing that the Creator sees, let there be light. How can there be light if my evil inclination keeps being revealed constantly?

R.  If you remain with your evil inclination then you just flow with your ego in the currents of life and you have nothing. In order to advance correctly, each and every moment you have to try to imagine to yourself that you are doing that for the benefit of the Creator, to bring Him contentment. Very simple, all the time, whatever I do in each and every action it doesn't matter what action, whether it seems to you pretty or not so pretty, more educational or not. It is all for the benefit of the Creator, this is called in order to bestow in general. I don't even know exactly what but I am doing it in order to bring Him contentment. Every step I take and anything I do whatever it is I always think that in my actions, my thoughts and my desires I am always bringing Him contentment. This thought should accompany me in all of my states, you can go to bed, get up, take a walk, go to work, it doesn't matter what, you think you want to bring contentment to the Creator. Before anything you do, it doesn't force you to do anything, you are free to do whatever just before that, think that's it.

15. Baal HaSulam, "You Have Made Me in Behind and Before"

In the work of creation, the Creator revealed only one part of this discernment, as it is written, “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made,” for He took fire and water and mixed them into a single subject. And the Creator imprinted the power of speech in man, so he would partner with Him in the work of creation, so he, too, would create worlds with his speech from this discernment, meaning two opposites in the same subject.

21. R. Yes, because it is up to us mostly to connect two opposites in a single carrier, our will to receive is one and the intention to bestow is two. How do we connect the two together and work only out of the connection between both? This is what we learn that there needs to be a Partzuf that is built with the will to receive and then a Tzimtzum, Masach and Ohr Chozer, restriction, screen and reflected light and so it turns out that the will to receive by overcoming itself becomes a giver. This is called the two opposites working in a single carrier and that is to bestow contentment to the Creator even though it comes from two opposites.

22. S. (1:24:04) You gave us a mission for today to try and check in the connection between us what we are missing to be connected, to turn it for an appeal for the Creator. How in this scrutiny that we're doing together in the ten, how not to come to a state in which it becomes a changing of the blame, by which each one blames another?

R. So, see how much you cannot be connected and pray as a result and then you will discover the need for correction. Why are you telling me that you can't? I know that you are capable and I'm telling you that you have to do it, it says that which God has made, you have to do, why do you complain in advance that you can't? You will discover that you're not connected, of course you're not connected. You will discover it and then you will pray, that is the whole work. 

23. S. (1:25:32) On the side of man when he is doing like the Creator what is this mean?

R.  I don't understand what you mean.

S.  It is written in the excerpt that it is created to do, what is the force of speech in man?

R.  Connection is a special force that belongs only to man and the Creator, it is a special degree that is why we say there is still, vegetative and animate and in a degree higher than the animal is speaking, the speaking degree what is that? So still, vegetative, animate and speaking, what is the speaking? It is a special essence that's according to the shape that we see in front of us. It is an animal, looking at our bodies they are animals, but in our relationship so we can achieve the degree of the speaking. Which is like the Creator. As it is said in the words of Heaven everything was made, meaning the spirit that comes out of Him, that when the will to bestow transcends the will to receive that is how we build what is called new heaven and new earth. By that we equalize with the Creator. Where does it emerge from? Where does it emerge from? It comes from the mind, the five parts of the mouth, the sounds that we make the letters that we utter, by that we communicate knowledge to each other, intentions, there is a lot in this but we are conveying spirit to each other. That's why it's called the speaking to grow, that is what we are.

24. S. (1:28:04) You said that during the day every single moment we need to try to bring contentment to the Creator and to ask for that, but you discover that you want to feel his response a my operating correctly?

R.  No that's incorrect I'm not worried about how the Creator will be revealed to me or respond to how I think about him, I only think about myself, later maybe we'll talk about a different progress, right now we're only talking about one thing that in every action I make and an every moment I think about how by what I do and even when I don't do anything, that I want to bring contentment to the Creator. I want the Creator to enjoy it because of me that is it, just add to what you're doing now, you're sleeping, walking, eating, talking, you're thinking about how to bring Him contentment. You want Him to enjoy, it is that simple. Only this little thought needs to be added, it doesn't prevent you from doing anything, but your actions will already be a certain spiritual addition.

S. Let's say that I do.

R. It doesn't matter, just do what you think you want to do, let's say you're going to steal something as usual and you're thinking that you want to bring contentment to the Creator so that the Creator will enjoy you, will take pleasure in you. Do it like every day but today do it with this intention and tell us how it went, that you succeeded in stealing more or not.

25. S. (1:30:29) According to what we read, what does it mean that he only revealed a small part?

R. That doesn't matter, if you feel it you do if you don't you don't, each one with his own imagination, for now you can't reveal it in practice to reveal it in practice how much you're bringing contentment to the Creator you have to come to a state where he is revealed and he dresses in you like inner light in a Partzuf, but for now we are advancing towards it however we can.

R. It means everyday you wake up with a new broken will to receive.

28. S. (1:33:12) I feel the disturbances in the ten that we can overcome them easily to reach connection, but external disturbances instantly lose the intention.

R. Work with what you have and don't complain about the fact that the external or internal are revealed to you, in the ten, it doesn't matter, it's all revealed according to the plan of the Creator gradually and you have to accept it as necessary for progress. What you feel is necessary to advance towards the purpose of creation there is nothing that is redundant.

29. S.  (1:34:01) If we get an answer to our prayer, so by this we are giving contentment to the Creator?

R. I can't say there are many discernments here, but it is a question whether or not you are actually getting an answer, why you always get an answer but how do you detect it? Let's hope that you are advancing.

30. S. (1:34:42) What is the difference between being in adhesion with the Creator on every action or receiving the great form of work in the ten?

R. It depends on how a person feels that there are many discernments, and I can't detail them all now, but it is good if you think about this and about that.
