Love Covers All Crimes - Excerpts From the Sources, #4

1. Rav’s Introduction:

Yes, why is this condition when the Kli was shattered, the Kli that was created by the Creator, the Kli called Adam and as the egoistic desire permeated all of it so that each and every piece is now wrapped, encapsulated with a desire to fulfill itself. Now we don't feel a connection to each other. All our progress is now measured by how above the natural rejection between us that results from the shattering as much as we feel this rejection that rules over us, that is called recognition of evil. To the extent that we each recognize our nature, that is how incapable we are of feeling the other, how much we don't want to sense the other, how much we are repelled by feeling the others, thinking of the others in any other discernment in that regard. Then a person begins to see where he is, what is his attitude, his relation to the Creator. That's the only way to measure a true status, otherwise we are in some sort of imaginary, false state, sorts of incorrect calculations and if we want to know exactly what is our attitude towards the Creator, it can never be better than what our attitude to the 10 is. 

That's why all our work towards the Creator is also through the 10 and the connection with the Creator is the connection among the ten. That's the only way for us to see our true state and we can't let go of this measurement. Rather each time we feel ourselves, measure ourselves and see how devoted we are to the friends, because this way we are devoted to the Creator. Devotion means how much am I willing to nullify myself so as to be connected to and existing in the friends and the Creator. devotion is the vessel, my inclination to the Creator, how much I'm willing to give to him in order to bestow, as it's called. The main thing we have to show each other is how we are inclined to each other in the 10 even though no one is there yet but expressing this tendency is what we have to do is much as we can and of course it depends on each person's character and the states he's going through, you don't need to show exaggeration. 

You still have to help the friends in that you are showing the correct example and not to play the role of someone who has hardships or doesn't want to advance. We rather have to make an effort to rise above ego and then in contrast to one's ego to try to be in a good, positive example, devotion towards the group. That the others will see how much you are doing and it doesn't matter to you so much whether you are or not, what really matters is that one so shall help his friend. That the more you are playing, that role of acting out even and given the example, that the example is passed on to others as they are impressed by that, Then they play that role and then he is impressed by their game, their act and so one is impressed by the other until they all come to devotion. We live in a world of falsehood and so all these games are actually the means that bring us to the true and correct actions. Later on in spirituality there's also a matter of playing. Right now the play is about something forcefully and if it's a correct action that I then receive the strength to actually do it. What else? 

It's true that we need to play, to act out giving and devotion and positive attitude in our corporeal connections we do this like children are playing nice together until we are impressed by that and we see results from that because the light that shines on us is surrounding light and so we do all our actions in a similar way. It's not truthful, that light is also not shining on us directly but rather from afar, everything happens in this fashion in our state and so we play together with devotion and connection. If we do so we awaken the Creator to play with us as well. Even though we are immersed in an egoistic desire and we play as though we have devotion and giving towards each other but since we are in this false state, the Creator can also dwell with us in this false state, that is influencing us through the surrounding lights. This allows a certain kind of match an accord between us and the Creator and even though it's not a truthful connection on our part and on his, it is a connection to come closer, it shortens the gap, the distance between us although we're not yet touching each other. 

This way we absorb more and more influence from him helping us invert the force of reception to the force of bestowal. This is how we begin to feel the Creator instead of just forces of nature that work within us and between us and around us that there is really nothing besides Him, I have to detect him as the only force that directs all of reality as well as myself. My effort to detect him in this way evokes an increasingly more serious relation and attitude towards him as a force that is lively, a living force that we are connected to. This is “I am my beloved is for Me” and this way we reach a state where I further become connected to him. This is like there's a picture in front of you, there's a photo in front of me but that photo someone tore it up into many pieces and so I need to rearrange the pieces to identify who's in the photo. The paper itself is all torn up, the picture is not evident yet and I want to keep putting the pieces together, all these different shapes of the puzzle. To begin with I have to maintain the right direction, what is it that I'm putting together, what is it that I'm going to see even though I don't know the true picture yet. 

What is it, it is the force that is good that does good that orchestrates everything, that governs everyone I see him through the behavior of the friends of the world and everyone else, everything else. All the different shapes of shattering that we have in our world I have to bring them all together so as to put together this single picture. That I see the appearance of the same one force through everything that exists and he just appears through these different shattered pieces. If I wish to rearrange to put together the picture of this force then I come to that and my tendency to keep us together putting these torn up pieces together into a single picture which means to see through all the states, a single force behind me behind the friends and we're all aiming to achieve connection above all of our torn, shattered states and again based on the principle of love covers all crimes, we established the picture of the Creator through the connection between us. My measurement, again I am going back to what I started from, my main measurement is in devotion which is how much do I feel devoted to this process, to the friends, to help everyone and to feel myself as a representative of the Creator through and for the others and willing to contribute all of my strength, my qualities my intentions, my efforts to establishing the true picture, to rearranging all of the broken pieces in a complete manner. That is actually our role and our job in our time, the last generation. To reveal this one unique and unified force none else besides Him which stands behind all of the different actions and all the different frames, we will discover that

2. S. (15:50) How will we know that we have established a real connection between the ten?

R. If you are truly connecting among you in a way that the one force that exists in all of reality can already somewhat appear in you and then you're going to feel it, you're going to feel it between you, it's no longer imaginary. That's on the condition that every one of you is willing and supporting and helping and wanting to be in the place of everyone else in the 10. To the extent that you start feeling a single common goal, not in words but in a common feeling, in a shared feeling between you and to the extent that the Creator starts appearing between you in the sense that you feel a force connecting you. That is sort of in circulation between you to that extent, you can identify that you are moving closer to the revelation of the Creator in your vessel that your vessel already becomes somewhat connected to the light of Nefesh b'Nefesh.

3. S. (17:47) Measurements you mentioned, how do we measure?

R. To the extent that whatever you do you only do it for connecting in the 10 that's all.

S. I measure within reason or above reason?

R. The measurement is according to what you can measure how much your strength and forces and efforts are all in order to connect all the 10 to one.

4S. (18:35) In the work in the 10 in the persistence and the soul devotion are they the same thing?

R. No ,the persistence is persistence which means in the work in the actions and devotion is the states that we come to that have reached such a point where part of my desires or you can say all of my desires but on a certain layer some thin layer, they're willing to be in devotion which means that I give them away to bestowal, to adhesion to the Creator this is called devotion this is called devotion.

5. S. (19:52) Two or three days ago I felt very bad, could not get out of bed, I spoke to the 10 everyone put their shoulder in and the next day I got up as if there was nothing, can we see it as he still as a action of bestowal in the ten? 

R. The fact that you woke up the next day as a result of what happened, that's the sign that you did some work and renewed your vessel and now you have to work with a new vessel, that's how it is.

S. I'm asking, because two months ago I had a brain injury and I asked of the 10 and here I am everything is working and I received the influence of the 10 beautifully.

R. You have yet to see how all the actions and with a new worse desire that we receive each time which is stronger and coarser and we feel that we feel that ourselves, this is wrong, this is not okay, where is the reward that we deserve and we do not realize that this is the reward, that a worse , coarse desire is becoming revealed to give you an opportunity to make an action of bestowal above that, an action of connection,

6. S. (21:43) You said that by assembling this puzzle between us we correctly depict each of this force how do we build it correctly?

R. We have to describe the state where the upper force in everyone and we're all different and we're all becoming each time more and more different from each other and so it turns out that we each time as if we move apart from each other if we do the right work until as the students of Rabbi Shimon we want to escape each other, to burn each other to run away from each other where everyone is a villain, everyone is evil. We have to keep ourselves above that even though it is very difficult.  It is all awakened is us from the Creator as data from the broken Kli on top of that we have to correct the connection between us and so with all of the egoistic desires that are shattered and broken,  love covers all crimes, we have to connect ourselves all the way to the level of love and the crimes will remain. We have made a restriction, screen and reflected light above and the Creator appears in the connection between us being opposite to all the conditions of the broken Kli and the whole force, that one force, that contrast between the vessel and we discover as the revelation of the Creator to the created beings.

S. These opposing, conflicting forms aim us?

R.  The broken states are not so they don't lead us to the corrected states so much, we have to search for how we can combine all of these pieces of that torn-up photo between us. How do we establish that picture more and more accurately each time and gradually we discover the Creator.

S. So that's the question, where's the precision, the clarity of this image?

R. We cancel our ego to the extent that we make concessions to each other in a 10 and we only care about the connection above all the forces of rejection and criticism between us and accordingly we come to correction.

7. S. (25:25) How come the shattering looks wider, bigger relative to what we're trying to work on in order to unite?

R. Because it appears from your egoistic natural desires where you are in control ,where you live, where you experience life. You have a lot of vocabulary to express how much you don't want, you suffer, you don't feel negative things, put it like this, look at how in our world we can write or shoot film or other creations about difficult harsh, bad, sorrowful states, states of suffering. We have a lot of words to portray suffering, feelings, expressions, emotions. The good state however there's not that much to say, why don't we have as many discernments in the good as we have in the bad? One should be opposite the other because we're not immersed in the good, we don't understand the good, we don't position the good opposite the bad. Had we done that we would find vocabulary and expression of connection between us more than what we have now. But with the bad things we can portray them and write novels and discuss them and creations and write novels and the good things, it's good you hug and kiss you are happy together and that's it. This is the problem that we don't know what it actually means to feel good because in our world we don't establish the good opposite to bad, love covers all crimes as the topic of this lesson. Love covers all crimes meaning we want to discover the love, we want to discover a connection, all the different manners of connection, the different colors and shades and feelings of connection and we can do that only from not erasing what we had before but rather cover it. 

Then the connection takes on all of those discernments that are opposite of sorrow, the shattering. The Creator that was at first abstract light, it was shattered so that we can discover how opposite we are, how hateful we are, how conflicting we are. There's many discernments in that that is all of our engagements in this world, it's all about that. It's how much we find that we are not together and it's only in order to then cover it with love and with love we don't have that many discernments, those many words. Then we can start feeling that we have all of the discernments in love just as we have in sadness and sorrow and then that's how we discover the Creator, otherwise we would have no discernment to feel him. What's the upper light at complete rest, it's just white light, no feeling, no discernment, no grasp, it fills up the whole of reality and yet I have no way to feel it. So we have to try to connect sorrow and joy, bad and good and then we will take in all of our feelings, in our lexicon, in our discernments. Everything that is, it's just this whole wide world that negativity that everyone has, of dissatisfaction and deficiency and then we can take all of that and invert that to positive discernment and accordingly discover the Creator.

8. S. (31:31) Can I simultaneously be a man who behaves as an egoist towards society and at the same time be a friend on the path who's asking for the connection in the ten, where I'm looking for the Creator? How can we, how does a Kabbalist behave outside of the normal regular society?

R. Just like everybody else, all in all in every state just behave like your environment not that you have to be evil if you're among criminals but you need to be generally like a person off the street. not to be different.

S. Thank you whatever you say.

R. That's what I said, wherever you are, depending where you are, be like the others.

9. S. (33:08) I want to scrutinize this concept of soul devotion, is this my readiness to sacrifice myself for the sake of the 10 my willingness to sacrifice my time, my ego does it need to be as a game for them and the feelings will, with the light as a result?

R. In every one of us there is a point in the heart which is part of God above and there is a connection between the points in the heart and the Creator. There is a very thin thread connecting the points in the heart and the Creator and we need to try and enliven this connection. If I work with all of the desires and qualities and situations to strengthen that connection to always be expanding that connection making the thread stronger, thicker, more active in each and every moment that means that I am in devotion. This is one of the portrayals that I'm able to express.

S. So following that, the connection between my point in the heart and the connection between the center of my 10 with the Creator, is that intention expanding the point in the heart?

R. I don't want to go too deep, look for connection between you and the 10 and you and the Creator and all has to be in a single point of the center of the ten.  I don’t want to go further.

10. S. (35:52) How to act in such a way so as not to act, to over act, to annoy people to give an example of love and loyalty?

R. This depends on the subtlety of your soul, how much you can do it in a way that the friends will take it in the right way, that's all, that the friends will take it in the right way otherwise it will repel them instead of attract them.

11. S. (36:35) ) I want to act about the new state, we started to talk, common prayer. common feeling of the Creator who is being circulated between us?

R. To depict it we can do that by discussing it and reading the articles having some closeness, some participation between us, build yourselves in a corrected manner as much as you can and even though this correction that you'll be working on will it be a game ,you'll be playing it but this game draws the light that reforms and it will happen in you in this process of self-correction if you play being corrected and you play it further and further and try to bring the Creator into it, you'll start seeing how much it works on you that your actual moving towards correction.

S. What is common since each one feels it according to its own vessel, what is the common ground?

R. This is true that everyone feels that he's living inside his own desire but try to play  you are all connected, it's all a game but from playing through the light that reforms you'll come to a true state. You have to do it, you can't just listen to it and forget about it so for instance you take upon us yourself today to always play the game of connected and every hour you become more and more connected and then you'll see by the end of the day something will enter, will permeate your desires, your thoughts and will become yours but you have to start doing it and stop talking just do it.

12. S. (39:09) It's felt that it's easier to set an example then to get an example, what does it mean to make extra efforts to get an example?

R. What friends are deciding that they are playing in connection in the 10, I want to accept it as truth, I want to belong to it and contribute to it.

13. S. (39:40) In our 10 there are three friends that show up each morning regularly, additionally there are four or 5 friends who will join us every morning so every day we have six seven sometimes 9, 10 friends. Last night we got a message from from the management in the social team they are attaching another 10 friends to us from the point in the heart community so from a state where we have almost 15 friends in the 10 they're turning us into 25 friends. I think it's going to be very difficult for us to have three zoom meetings during the day and it will turn it into a Zoom of 25 friends. I understand that the message they didn’t consult with us or anything, they simply surprised us that we have 25 friends in a 10 so I want to consult with you, what do we do?

R. if you are usually three people in the lesson what do you mind if to have another hundred people listed and out of these hundred people maybe one or two will join the lesson anyway. So we count typically only the people who are in the lesson well those who can't, those who don't have it and they have to listen to it after the fact okay, but that's already a different kind of hearing. It's much less but that's good too, it's a good thing meaning I can't tell you what to do there. But there are people who don't participate physically with all that they can again, I'm not saying that if one is for us then he is exempt but out of 15 people 3 being in the lesson what kind of a group is that, tell me. Now when you're talking to me I can't talk to you seriously here because this is a sick state. I don't understand how to do it. I understand that from 15 people you have 10 people, 8 people half the people are in the lesson and the rest are alternating.  But three is not a group.

S. They are exempt because of work.

R. don't tell me that at 12 or for worse because of their job especially in Corona times.

S. Out of the 15 they show up three or four times to the lesson sometimes they're coming, they are just not coming daily out of the 15 only 3 show up daily all the rest only come out of four, five times to the lesson or 6.

R. I'm very happy to hear how you are defending them, soul devotion, how you are truly caring for the group to stay beautiful for all to see but this is the problem.

14. S. (44:23) You said in the beginning, talked about Impressions, you talk about the shattering and everything that we learn, as we learn from the great Kabbalists will always lead us to an impression or certain inspiration as though we'll find two different frequencies and I want to know that the inspiration or impression is something that binds us differently to the soul of Adam HaRishon that is to be corrected before, if you can give us this concept?

R. Yes the more we are impressed by both the shattering and connection between us these two extremities that we are not running away from revealing the shattering and yet we are drawn to connection and as we are connected we don't let go of our impression from the shattering and during the shattering, we nevertheless want to remind each other that we are discovering the connection so by connecting these two ends we actually detect our present state.

15. S. (46:04) Regarding this loyalty, there is such an impression of a friend to give how loyal he can be for the group and the minute this impression disappears he forgets everything and calms down, so what to do so this loyalty, meaning if I decide once I will never lose that loyalty and follow that state?

R. We can never maintained a current state and keep it constant, it will always change to higher or lower state doesn't matter but we're always going to go between states and what I can do to guard myself between one state to another is only my connection to the 10 because the connection to the 10 begins from this world and so if I am in a framework then whatever happens doesn't matter what happened, I am there. So I have no problem, I have confidence that I am with the friends and if one helps his friend, he will definitely advance at all times. However, your request of wanting to stay in a certain state, that's not good, that goes against development. Our development is basically in being constantly disconnected from the previous state and being brought to a new state and you forget what you had yesterday or sometime before, you forget about it and you have no choice but if you hold on to the group then you always have some area where you can determine your foundation and evolve.

16. R. What does it mean that I have to tolerate the friend? Meaning that he appears to me one way or the other I have to justify him if he participates in the ten, if he puts in the effort as much as he can, if he upholds the connection between us I must come to a state where I am in love truly in love to him with all of my criticism, I argue with him, I can fight, I hold him as a friend as someone on the path. Doesn’t have anything to do with an inner connection, emotional connection, corporeal connection not so much it doesn't matter as long as I feel him as a partner to the path, a good partner, bad partner doesn't matter nevertheless advancing together towards the goal.

17. S. What kind of a merit of the friend am I missing, what is it that merit exactly?

R. You're missing and seeing the friend, you're missing out on your own discernment, parts of your own soul as then you cannot connect to him, rather it's because your own spiritual vessel and then when you disregard him and don't want to connect with him, you seemingly lose pieces of your spiritual vessel and the Creator will be lacking for him because we discover the Creator by connecting between us.

S. And when I will manage to do it, what kind of merit will I find after all because we're not talking about suddenly seeing the friend is a university professor, there's a spiritual merit, adhesion what will I find?

R. You will see that he's not a friend, not a stranger but a part of your soul connected to you and you're bringing it home, you're bringing back to you this part and accordingly you discover the Creator in these common parts.

S. And the way to reach that is the devotion that you mentioned before?

R. Soul devotion to the Creator we need to reach that to develop that, what I ultimately want is to reach such a degree of giving, bestowal, devotion relative to the upper force that I discover gradually the attitude from him, it's something great, it's a mutual thing that exists between us and the Creator, it's from him but from us, it's to the extent that we do it in the 10, we develop a vessel for soul devotion to the Creator to the extent that we reveal him.

18. S. (55:10) Following the topic of attendance let's say friends come every day but not for the whole lesson so such a 10 can succeed?

R. Yes, it's best if they come to the first part of the lesson the first hour and a half and then not at all ,there are those among us I know them, some of them and I have no problem with them, they are in the lesson they connect by coming to the lesson to everyone. They grasp the idea of the lesson ,they connect to us, they have a common feeling with us and then they leave, let's say an hour before the end of the lesson they leave, so what ,no problem. Better than nothing, try it, try to work on people who don't show up to the lessons and try to have them come to at least a part of the lesson. Show up for the beginning of the lesson, let's say we're starting Israeli time 3 so 3 to 4 and then they can go back to bed.

19. S. (57:06) Here in Australia the lesson is at noon time, so I can only join by listening to Sviva Tova, is that participating?

R. Yes of course it's better than what you would do later in your spare time, it's not about seeing, what's there about seeing my face, the face of the friends as long as you hear everything?

S. But it also means I can't participate in the workshop?

R. How many workshops do we have in lessons nowadays, barely none, participate in this way it's fine believe me this will give you everything.

20. S. (58:04) You said before if the friend invests in the lesson in the ten we have to justify him but if he can't be every day in the lesson and can't invest all the time but does it partially, should we not justify him, he's not no longer a friend, where is the boundary?

R. You can tell me that your friend is okay if he's not with us during those times where he is capable of being, this is treason and the spiritual force does not go hand-in-hand with this kind of connection and it's not for nothing that I spoke about soul devotion in the beginning and I devote myself to every action of bestowal, if he's not going to give from himself completely, understand he can't, he doesn't want to be corrected like us, but to not be trying to some extent then this is not a friend, we are at war with our egos.

21. S. He writes that love covering all crimes is within reason?

R. He writes elsewhere that if I can speak of the friend as great in my eyes above reason but even better if I can speak of him of his greatness within reason.

S. All right, but why does he say within reason which is more natural is that he sees that love covers all crimes?

R. It is nature, then this way I reach the truth  that everyone is greater than me.

S. Within reason there has to be two levels right ,love covers all crimes there are crimes and love above that so what does that mean that the crimes are still felt or not felt?

R. Transgression means that I wish to bring down the friends, that I want to feel myself, that I demand of my ego as higher as everyone else, I raised myself higher than everyone else and so on and so on.

S. Okay and above that I need to work in loving him ?

R. And see that he is higher than me.

S. What happens with these two perceptions?

R. It is against my ego.

S. But they are canceling each other?

R. Of course. How can it be that I am thinking about someone from the side of my ego.

S. So when I cover with love what happens to the crimes - they remain or what?

R. They remain; I receive this special force from above that helps me overcome these transgressions, so all those transgressions that I reach towards the friends I understand it's not coming from the friend in whom that I see all these flaws, but from my will to receive so each one sees flaws according to his own flaws, because I have those flaws I see the friends as not perfect enough.

S. So why does he write that it's within reason?

R. According to your feeling you have to reach a feeling I also have to be above reason and this means accept the friend as greater and whole, and perfect standing before me and in a corrected way, but that's the start to work, the end of the work could be when I accept him within reason, that's how it works. It's higher.

S. Sure and then there's only one feeling, there's no conflict between crimes and love?

R. The conflict is constant, but it's my own internal conflict.

S. So what's the difference?

R. Malchut and Bina - what I wish to determine in my will to receive and what I wish to determine in my will to bestow, the conflict will always be there.

S. So the order of the work when he writes one and two; the one is to look at the friend with faith above reason; and two is much more natural within reason it's two stages in the work?

R. Yes, two stages and also there's something maybe we should read this article in its entirety.

22. S. (01:07:07) With these two conditions I always have to start with faith above reason and always try to feel the friends and then maybe reach a state where I see them great within the desire?

R. It's desirable, but we need to try and do it, determine it and then we'll see from our experience what we're doing, let's try to do it this way, love covers all transgressions seemingly simple let's come to the fact that we see the transgressions in the friends, things that I don't like about them, things that appear bad so on so forth. Let's try to cover them with an attitude of love because they're friends and we're walking along this path and each one judges his own faults. Let's come to a state where we come to love to each of the friends and try to do it and then we'll see and it's not simple, because we're building a vessel here, a sandwich  of what I feel in my will to receive and what I need to feel in my will to bestow and here we have this duality that we're not so used to.

S. This place where we moved from one side to the other where we implement this whole state, this whole method of Rabash and annulment between us, is it in that place?

R. Yes, yes that's the point.

23. S. (01:09:31) With regards to the same answer and question I think it's better to love the friend within reason, right? Should I ultimately reach love above reason but within the desire it's like a confirmation that the work was done right, that I've completed the process and come to a new state, of course there is a change, but if I see the greatness of the friend in the desires a sign of progress?

R. Yes, a sign of progress each time I get a new form. I need to believe that this new form is more advanced even though it could be negative, difficult, but always moving forward.

24. S. (01:11:13) ) It says here in the article we need to relate to the friends as great, but we also say that if a friend leaves us then he's not a friend, so the concept of a friend is it .... ?

R. Friend in Hebrew, Chaver, is from Chibur, connection, anyone who is in connection for me is Chaver, a friend that's how we need to see it. If it's not clear to you what kind of definition you have to go to Hebrew, because Hebrew stems from spiritual vessels, comes to us from there, it's not a language that we use for various corporeal things as is the case today. Hebrew used to be used to only speak about spirituality. In Babylon they would speak Aramaic, in other times they would choose other languages, but Hebrew that's the language that speaks of spirituality. That's why, check the words, friends and I can't even say the word in another languages, the word friend is from Chaver, Chibur, connection, if he leaves the connection in the 10  he is not a friend.

25. R. Each one judges according to his own flaws this is the rule if I see something in the friend it is a sign it is in me and here this duality exists I have to correct myself until I stop seeing these things in the friend or I need to ask the friend to correct himself in some way, does it bother the entire group or in me, how to detect those things and see if they exist truthfully or not. There are many factors that are beyond our control and we will move to worth it.

26. S. (01:18:24) How can I see within reason that the friends are greater helping me to advance in the ten?
R. Because then you are integrated in them, you wish to be incorporated to take examples from them and this is how you advance.

S. How do you advance?

R. The group is a spiritual environment where you develop, if you appreciate them as higher you can develop in this world, we look at the world and we develop accordingly, but in the spiritual world you cannot see, it is only when you are holding on to the friends. R. 39. S. (01:35:49) Each friend goes through a state on the spiritual path, where he comes to every morning lesson and participates in all of the activities, but it's very hard for him to concentrate. It is if it goes in one ear and out the other.

R. That is for him to connect to the friends and the Creator and only in the way that he is connected with the friends and the Creator he can listen to what is happening in the lesson in an internal way and not through his ears but through his heart. R. We need every time to say that what I see in a friend, a fault, is my fault, that is what is written, that is what the Kabbalists say that we have to aim ourselves to that. So what are you asking?
