*Ushpizin Aaron - Sephirat Hod - Selected Excerpts from the Sources*

1. Rav’s Introduction:

Today we're studying, what is the quality of Aaron? When we read the Torah or if we hear it, we don't quite hear much about Aaron. He's constantly next to Moses seemingly hiding in Moses’s shade. Moses, that Moses is clear. He's the one who links between the upper force and the people, the nation. He's standing in the middle. Aaron is just something next to him, his assistant or his brother, okay but, it's not so clear to us. We need to realize that the fact that it is not so clear to us, apparently, there is more here that is hidden. If it is hidden since then it belongs more to the Adam, to us, to our work. Therefore, we need to study, what is the work of Aaron? On the other hand, he does everything with the vessel. He prepares the vessels, connection of the people with the Creator. Without him it doesn't exist. Moses seemingly comes from above and Aaron comes from below, from the people, from the people meaning from all of man's qualities from the entire group, from the ten towards the Creator. He's not so conspicuous because the person has to add his own work to it. We need to study this really well.

Specifically, about Aaron, we have to delve into it and therefore we're going to go forward in a different way. Together with you we will now study what is the quality of Aaron, the guest? How do we welcome him? How do we enter into this image into this kind of work with desires and intentions and actions that will exist in a person that is called Aaron? Let's read the verses that we have and we will learn from them, not from me, not from what I speak but rather together we will try to study from what it says. I recommend to you please write down on a piece of paper whatever you'd either like to ask or if you hear something about what does it mean that quality of Aaron and how to work with it and what is our work to be like Aaron because this is actually work from below upwards on behalf of the person, the man. We learned Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet and Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and we learned about Moses and this is all still from above. The representative of the Creator with respect to us that's Moses, but Aaron that's us with respect to the Creator more like that so let's study it. This, it turns out, actually, is more important for us than everything we talked about so far. In fact, for the practical implementation of our goal, for the implementation of our work, this is more important, so let's study it together so please.

*Excerpt 1 Reader (4:39 - 5:25)*

2. R. This means that the quality of Aaron is the most important thing for us because then we can receive all of our work, accept all of our work in the right way, determine our correct connection with the Creator, as if he's not so conspicuous, right? It is because he comes from below, from the person, from the man.

*Excerpt 1 Reader (5:55 - 7;25)*

3. R. If I am under the control of the Creator that there is none else besides Him, I should always be content, in each and every situation. If I'm not pleased, it is a sign that I'm disconnected from the Creator and I have to come back to a connection with him and the sign that I have a connection with him is that I am pleased with my situation in whatever case it is. The quality of Aaron is the most important quality in the created being, in the person. All of these qualities Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses that we talked about over the last four days, the ones before today, it was a preparation from above and the quality of Aaron that is truly already our work from below and where and when do we actualize it? When we reach faith above reason. What is faith above reason? Chesed, above everything, bestowal, above whatever awakens in our vessels of reception, that is the quality of Aaron is a very important quality I would even say the most important and it's as if it goes by throughout the whole Torah and in general and the way that we speak. Where do we see him so much jumping and doing something? No. It is because it comes from on behalf of the created being. You should write these things down, whatever we want to keep for later so that we can also ask and let's continue. Let's go. We will study together and how do we study this quality? To study this quality means that we welcome him as a guest into your Sukkah in order to build our soul the correct connection between us, we would like to have this quality so that it will build us.

*Excerpt 2 Reader (10:00 - 10:32)*

4. R. To all of the qualities of the person called the people of Israel in the person, all of these qualities when we extend the quality of Chesed upon them it is considered that we're doing the work of Aaron. We receive this quality, we take it upon ourselves, upon the entire will to receive of the person. Again, please.

*Excerpt 2 Reader (10:58 - 12:05)*

5. R. This means that as much as all kinds of alien thoughts and desires awaken in the person, alien meaning not towards the connection between us and with the Creator than it is considered alien, foreign, outside of our connection, this is why we call them alien thoughts and desires. We understand that it is alien and here we have to work on the quality of Aaron. On top of that we only have to bring the quality of Chesed and ...

*Excerpt 2 Reader (12:41 - 13:00)*

6. R. Yes this is a big problem that if in a person, the force of bestowal ceases, the force of Aaron then and then he needs to receive a full portion of the next portion and we will study how we should constantly renew that force of bestowal in us, the force of Aaron. We already have questions.

7. S. (13:31) Why if Aaron comes from the left is he, is the priest?

R. Priest, the priest is very strong. The priest, Cohanim, this is the impression that we get from the Torah, they are very strong, even brutal. They are very harsh, hard even though you might say but it is Chesed, we read that Aaron is mercy the right arm, how could that be, because we build from Aaron and onward, we are building our qualities from within the will to receive on behalf of the created being towards the Creator and therefore inside we have to be very strong, we have to stand against the will to receive in order to bend it and make of it Chesed. You take some great criminal who only knows how to rob and kill and punch and you make of him a person of mercy, soft towards everyone so you understand how much he has to cope with himself and perform actions on his own character, his own nature. This is actually Aaron. We must always understand that whatever we build, we are building and out of our egoistic will to receive, so to make someone soft, loving, bestowing, broad or generous, it's not simple.

S. This needs to be our quality at this time?

R. Yes, of course, we need to include all of the studies, qualities we are studying them gradually. It's as you get into being an actor, studying to be an actor. Now you're studying how to be an actor playing the role of Aaron, gradually. Abraham, Isaac Jacob you learned theoretically what these qualities are which are above us. CHGT Avraham, Isaac and Jacob and  now we are studying NHY, that already belongs to the will to receive, to the Malchut, to the quality that has to emerge out of the created being so in each and every place we have to go forward with the quality of Aaron, the right line, his right hand as it is said in Chesed. How could it be Chesed if he has such a great desire that comes out of the person? It is a correction, it's a correction. We will study more about it

8. S. (17:38) What difference is there between Abraham's mercy and Aaron’s mercy. We learned that Chesed is also the quality of Abraham.

R. Abraham is the upper Chesed, Aaron is already the mercy that comes from the lower one, from the men. We have CHGT these are the upper three Sephirot, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are seemingly above us and what we have to do on our behalf is to adapt ourselves to be Adam, Domeh, similar to the Creator, this we start from the quality of Aaron.

9. S. (18:30) How can Aaron help us with the desires that won't let us go? You also talked about cruel to you like a murderer that doesn't want to let go of his victim?

R. Yes and we have to play to act in the form of Aaron even though we are all robbers murderers, pirates, yes yes, this is how we need to be, and clothe this on us. Don't think you can change. You cannot change. You will be even worse and worse inside and even more and more beautiful and good on the outside. This is how it is. We will learn how to do this. We will have to become a good actor but this acting is that you will comprise two things: the savage as it says, a wicked man inside or an ape let’s say, an ape inside and a human on the outside.

10. S. (19:54) In the first excerpt it says that Aaron was Tiferet. What does that mean?

R. I don't know, let's not get into that. First of all we acquire the quality of Aaron. Today, I want to have a different kind of lesson with you. That we, together, will study what it says in the verses and bit by bit we will build this image that we need to have, the image of Aaron. That's already our work from below as we read now. This is the first time that we have to do it, from ourselves and that way to present ourselves towards the Creator so let's study together, what is our role. Seemingly, we have before us a list that is giving us the manifestation, the expression of Aaron and we should try to measure it of ourselves.

*Excerpt 3 Reader (21:07 - 22:28)*

11. R. It's like this person who wants to put the sack on himself. It's difficult for him and then he cries out in the middle that when he cannot, he cries out to get help but then he cries out in advance, “Help me!” but nobody comes. Yes.

*Excerpt 3 Reader (22:44 - 23:33)*

12. R. This means when can we ask of the Creator I hear we have to go above reason. I don't know what it is. I can ask and cry to the Creator that, “Give me faith above reason!” But I don't even know what it is, what am I asking for? We need to learn what does it mean, faith above reason? As much as we understand it or we don't understand it, that doesn't matter. Then we ask as much as we still try like a little child who doesn't know how to do something, but he tries, he truly sweats it out, he tries very much.  That way if we will do that with faith above reason, we will get from above that form and it will clothe on us. It is the same as with the old man who wishes to carry the sack but he can't but he tries, he tries even though he knows that he won't be able to but that is the only way by which we can turn to the Creator. It is considered that we start the work and then the Lord will finish it for me.

*Excerpt 3 Reader (24:51 - 25:08)*

13. R. So, he will stand this way until the end of his days and he will not receive anything. Yes…

*Excerpt 3 reader (25:16 - 25:32)*

14. R. He does begin the work and then he cries out that he cannot. He wants to reach it by himself just like a little child who's trying, tries to do something and when he cannot then we come and help him. Yes.

*Excerpt 3 Reader (25:50 - 26:01)*

15. R. It's a very strong excerpt because it gives us the correct guidelines for the right work. For sure this way we will succeed. In the group between us we should try to build as much as possible more and more the correct qualities, the correct relations, Chassidim. Not to wait because usually the Klipot within us says wait, you'll receive it, the Creator will agree and he will give it to you but without us asking, without us forgetting the work.  This is called an awakening from below right, MAN, we will not receive help from above and this is what we have to know and people stand and they are stubborn and they insist for years, for many years that seemingly “I'm waiting for the Creator to give it to me,” but you haven't yet started. You have to start! In a minute it will all go away, it will be lost like the sack that falls off your back and then the Creator helps. This moment we have to constantly hold it and actualize it. This is the secret of the spiritual work that we start, and the Creator finishes it in each and every action.

16. S. (27:45) Why is the Sephira Hod and the quality Chesed?

R. Because it comes from below, from the created beings this is why it's called Hod, seemingly, the left, however what we possess and what we attain is seemingly the right, Chesed, the right arm. Yes. it's right, it's a nice question.

16. S. (28:34) We always say that only the Creator can release me. I can't, what is the point of knowing this before I made the effort? What does it give me, that knowledge?

R. You need to know it but still this is how you have to act.  You have to do everything as everything depends upon you and if you find out that you are not capable of it then you add to your auctions prayer and that way your work and your prayer together they beat this condition, this state and then it is realized.  Write it down even, remember it and start to realize things this way and you will see that this opens up for you the path. Step after step always go forward in such a way for sure. I'm telling you from my experience but for many years a person stands, and he doesn't want to start by himself. Rather, he waits for the heavens, that's not good. This is what happens, our evil inclination says wait, the Creator will agree with you, he will come and he will do it, wait for revelation, wait for all kinds of things.  No, it's not going to happen. If we will not start and when we start, we will see that we are not capable of it and then we will pray and ask and then the Creator will come and he will do it. The Lord will finish it for me but he will finish it for me. Starting is upon me. This is why I hear sometimes, many complaints by many students that I've been studying for so many years and I've been studying for so many years and I don't have anything. You are not working correctly and you're not listening. You have to start and if you're not successful then you will discover the prayer, ask, demand that the Creator will also take part and then he will see how much he does take part, he wants to take part with you, he wants to take part with you but only in participation just like we do it with the children. Because then to the extent that the child starts and you come and help him, he understands what he has to do, he learns from you. In our work, it's called the work of the Lord, not the work of man. The Creator does it but he does it only after and in the place where the person truly needs help.

17. S. (32:02) I understand in the excerpt the difference between one and two but in the work, where does patience come in? Where is patience important? Important to have patience?

R. This depends on the group, on the environment that is working with you and adding to you all of those qualities that you lack.

18. S. (32:40) In our path, states of heaviness come in the work. How in those states can we maintain our concern for the ten? Our work requires some consistency so how do we maintain this consistency in the work?

R. You should speak about it between you, that even though the work is hard, specifically because we are all connected together, we can advance, but together. All of our work is about the connection between us and according to the extent of the connection between us we can advance. It's like let's say you're sitting in some cart, like on an escalator, when you're climbing on a mountain let's say, to the extent that you connect, it climbs and then it stops like a cable car and then it stops because you it's used all of your energy you've exhausted your energy, if you connect again it pulls you up again.  This is how it works the work is not on advancing forward the work is entirely on how to converge more and then the Creator elevates from Sephirah to Sephirah from Partzuf to Partzuf, until we reach the final implementation and it is only inside of us, inside of the ten. This is why all of your questions, most of them are about the fact that well we can't, not this way, not that way because we forget that the advancement is by intensifying the connection between us. We are going to continue. I can't answer all of your questions. You should answer them by yourself. First of all, we are going to study what is the quality of Aaron?

*Excerpt 4 Reader (35:08 - 36:14) *

19. R. Well here Baal HaSulam inserted a lot of things. We need to know first of all, this that Aaron, this is our work, the work of people who wish to obtain a relation and a connection with the Creator, to discover him, be similar to him so all of our work is the work of Aaron specifically. Moses shines to us from above and Aaron is how we need to shine to the Creator and to people from below. This actually is his work. This is why Aaron is called the Queen’s best man, of Malchut. The two of them need to be equal, Moses and Aaron but because the Torah was given entirely from above it was written by the Creator, so Moses appears to us there as the primary character. We have no one who is greater than Moses. He leads us, he pulls us behind him but in truth our work in discovering or getting our adhesion with Moses and ultimately with the forefathers, the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and through them with the Creator, it is only out of the fact that we operate like Aaron. You should write down everything. Learn how to study. Take notes of everything. We want to ask something, we want to say something to the friends, write it down, all of these things. That's the work. This is how we study, become students. Yes.

*Excerpt #5 Reader (38:34 - 40:10)*

20. R. We need to know two things from here: that Aaron belongs to the correction of the vessels. The quality of Aaron, the quality of mercy, faith above reason, that's the correction of the vessels that we serve to the Creator, and the feeling of the Kelim, that's already Moses, that already comes from above. By that they split the work. This is why they always come together. Before Pharaoh in Egypt and everywhere, they always come together. Seemingly, Aaron joins Moses and it is true because Moses shows Aaron the form of the work that needs to be but Aaron is the one who executes the work. Therefore seemingly, he's in a more modest state but in truth it's not so and the staff of Aaron blossomed as we learned that we advance only with the quality of Aaron.

*Excerpt #6 Reader (41:24 - 42:02)*

21. R. These are the desires to receive, thoughts, all kinds of disruptions along the way.

*Excerpt #6 Reader (42:09 - 42:21)*

22. R. Yes next...

*Excerpt #7 Reader (42:25 - 44:08)*

23. R. Let us now hold a workshop.

*WSQ* no translation

*Excerpt 8 & 9 Reader (53:53 - 58:17) reads 9 twice*

24. R. We must remember that this is our work in the ten where we will reach the state of the staff of Aaron, so It's always within our power to go above reason but in terms of our dissemination for the wider public, we don't talk about this at all, there, it's the regular work. You want to get a good life? For that we just need to be good to each other. As much as possible to overcome our will to receive in a simple way, overcome our egoistic will to receive and be good to each other and from joining us, they will get this or, they will get this inspiration and they will receive the above reason from us.

25. S. (59:26) Is there a connection between the state of as a donkey to the load and an ox to the burden and...?

R. Yes of course, to place ourself in that state of a donkey to the load and an ox to the burden and so on. We need to reach the state of faith above reason.

S. If I feel that the Creator is giving me forces to go against my ego, to rise above it, I'm not capable of overcoming my ego so what should I do?

R. To be amongst the friends, to get power from them and to pray. You will never be able to be stronger than your ego and if you are it's a sign that you're lying to yourself and advancing going for a larger ego above a smaller ego.

26. S. (1:00:49) What does it mean to cast it down, cast the staff down? What does it symbolize in our work in the ten?

R. If you don't go with faith above reason meaning with the staff of Aaron forward and you throw away faith above reason, it becomes a serpent and an increased ego which pulls you into the ground.

27. S. (1:01:24) We have a ten now, a common desire between us, what does it mean for us to realize the quality of Aaron?

R. I love my friends above all doubts, up above, meaning I need to have doubts. I need to have criticism otherwise I cannot be above it and then I won't have faith above reason I won't have any reason. The more I try to be above all of that in connection, connection is above everything and I'll always have doubts, problems, all sorts of interruptions, but I will rise up more and more and then that way I actually grow. It means that anyone who is greater than his friend greater and above reason his inclination meaning his evil inclination is greater in him. Why does he rise? Because he constantly needs to rise above this quality, evil inclination.

S. This is a special kind of evil inclination or is it some special disturbance?

R. The will to receive which is revealed through Aaron's work in the person is where a person doesn't want to work in above reason. He doesn't want to come close to the friends above the doubts and that's how it is, he follows this is very special work, work opposite Pharaoh. When do we talk about Aaron? When does he even appear in the story of the Torah? It's when they go to Pharaoh. Then he goes along with Moses.

28. S. (1:03:32) We're taught that the Creator, BoReh, is come and see. Is this what it means in the quality of Aaron, to attain, to see and to attain?

R. Aaron is the degree of faith above reason which comes from the person. The more a person is capable of elevating himself above his ego and to be above the power of reception in the power of bestowal, to be in the power of love above the force of hate, that is the quality of Aaron meaning it's a quality that is not inferior to Moses but Moses comes from above.  Meaning when the Creator wants to say something to the people, to the person, then that knowledge which the person receives from the Creator is called Moses, but the work by which a person wants to come to be equal with the Creator, that is called Aaron. It's a quality usually, Aaron it's a quality, well he's somewhere next to Moses, like a brother or a friend, no. No. It's all of our work from the bottom up, from below upwards. It all depends on us.

29. S. (1:05:34) The forces of Aaron, can we say that they give life in the beginning? When he speaks about the love that one has to reach the love of the Creator?

R. Yes, yes.

30. S. (1:06:06) The example with a sack, it's not clear how does this person to begin with, get hold of the sack if he can't lift it? I look at myself when I do something in the ten, in advance, I calculate this is what I can do and this I can't do, it's not within my forces, I don't even try?

R. If that's the way you approach spirituality you won't even take a single step forward. If you calculate things in your mind and then of course the person cannot go above his ego, how can he? His ego is all his work, it's all of his qualities, all his work. It's all of him. The Creator does it, he maintains it, he doesn't give the person any quality other than his ego and all the nice things seemingly that we do for each other it's all from the ego also. All the nice things we love when we love each other, when we give and help each other, it's all from the ego because it's worthwhile for us. If you make these calculations, I'm, you say that you're always within the ego. You can never rise above it. You'll never feel spirituality, the upper world, the upper state, you will remain as a beast which works according to its nature.

S. The question is how can I overcome it?

R. That is what we're talking about now. How we can transcend our nature to clothe on us, on the form of the beast, the form of a human, Adam, similar to the Creator and this is called faith, love, true bestowal, true love, above reason, above the emotion and mind of the beast. Inside we remain animals, beasts, apes but from what we become similar to the Creator and that's why it's called similar to the Creator, Domeh, similar to the Creator. It's only when you listen to what needs to be done and do it, I don't say I'm used to following my reason, my intellect. With that you could be successful in this world, but you're not raising yourself above the degree of the living, the animate. So, think, do you want to stay in that degree? You're welcome to it, it's your choice but one who wants to be similar to the Creator, to come close to it, but you understand the upper world, eternity, the, the quality inherent in nature or he must acquire a second nature, that's what it's about.

31. S. (1:09:29) Can we say that if Moses…. that Aaron is the raising of the MAN?

R. Yes okay.

32. S. (1:09:48) You started the lesson by saying that this is a practical way to implement the study and knowing our habit, our nature if we don't implement a small daily habit, excitement goes away so I was wondering if we can connect the force of Aaron to the roles of the Shatz and Gabai that we implement daily or is that a good connection or is that not the right way of looking at?

R. Yes, go ahead, do that of course. You need to practice all day on climbing from the degree of beasts to the degree of man meaning from the degree of reason to the degree of faith above reason from the degree of reception to the degree of bestow and that is our work. Yes that's how it is.

33. S. (1:10:50) I got the impression that Moses and Aaron is a system.

R. You can bring  many examples, we are speaking on a different level.

34. S. (1:11:18) The friend from Moscow asked an interesting question in the group there are people more calculated....how do I divide correctly the effort how do we divide correctly the effort

R. I don't know how to do this you need to scrutinize this, I cannot be involved in that.  I don't even want to teach you today, I want you to learn from the text we read what needs to be done. How to learn from the group this or that, I am not teaching you that anymore you need to learn by yourselves. You know when you were in school, you listen to what the teacher says and that's what you need to know. After that you go to university, you get lectures and you're also given books. You need to learn from the books by yourselves to learn how to learn from the books this is how it works. So I am starting to drift a little bit away from you, you need to learn by yourselves from the group.  In the group, you need to take care of your world, so where you all need to come closer together and I will tell you more.  If you think, if each one things that they can reach spirituality then of course that is impossible. Except for in the ten and if you think that a single ten can reach spirituality, then I would like to tell you not to delude yourselves, thinking that that is possible. You need to work together, that is the meaning of us being in the last generation, the generation of the Messiah. Where only with mutual assistance can we reach that, the more we advance the world, humanity, comes to feel how rounded it is, how circular, how everyone needs each other. It won't help a ten to be disconnected from the other tens, so we need to learn that we work together with mutual sensation, mutual assistance.

S. Today we are studying the quality of Hod of Aaron, before then everything was clear, how come there is this gap with Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet (CGT) right left middle, Netzach, Hod, Yesod (NHY), an another right, left, middle, why?

R. Because it's from the bottom, from below, from the created beings, Moses that's from above, that is why Aaron is the Queen's best man, he belongs to Malchut and Moshe belongs to Keter, Tiferet.

35. S. (1:15:20) Can we define Aaron work as bestowing in order to receive?

R. There is no such thing as in order to receive in all of these Ushpizin, these guests, these forces, in order to receive, that is a Klipot, shell.

36. S. (1:16:03) Our work is closer to Aaron's quality than Moses is that correct?

R. Being similar to Moses means being as Aaron.

36A. S. (1:16:28) What is the force that elevates the tension between the right and the left and how is that expressed in the ten?

R. The tension between the right and the left, there is no tension between the right and the left, Aaron wants to always to do what Moses dictates, to do what he brings down for work from above down that is what he tries to do, he tries to adhere to him, to walk after him, to walk with him, that is our work. From the side of Aaron, so Moses, he comes from the side of the Creator, he comes to Israel, to one who wants to be Yashar Kel, to reach adhesion with the Creator, he tells him, do this, do that and Aaron executes this work. From the side of the created being that is why they go together. But of course, Moses is on a higher degree than Aaron, Moses comes from above and Aaron from below. Aaron comes from the side of the created beings.

37. S. (1:18:20) It is impossible to ask anything from the Creator except for gratitude and what is that state?

R. If a person wants to only thank the Creator than very good, let him do so he will advance and he will want to advance and he will see that he can't, he will see that he can't because the Creator wants him to pray, to turn to the Creator and then he will come to the request. The Creator wants us to ask, but this request should not be like a baby just crying, I want this or I want that, not empty crying. But rather, we need to truly want to bestow through the love of others otherwise it's not a true request, through the love of the created beings. That's it.

38. S. (1:19:42) Aaron takes everything into his hands in advance is above reason, so we have two kinds of feelings, a feeling of lack and a feeling of joy, can we say that the joy is a quality of Aaron?

R. In each action, in each state, if we ascribe it to the Creator then we feel joy.

39. S. (1:20:27) When a person takes upon himself this work of faith that he believes that the Creator can help him, is that above reason?

R. Can't hear you properly.

40. S. (1:22:55) How do I check as a group that the staff of Aaron is in our hands?

R. If you go above reason in the group and whatever is revealed with all that you can always raise the group above it and then it means that you are going forward with the staff of Aaron. The staff Mateh, comes from the word Matah or below importance, meaning that the ego is below importance, you step on it and so you advance.

41. S. (1:23:47) Mercy is normally the left line, now it’s on the left line now what does this mean that Chesed comes from below?

R. It comes from the will to receive, I use my ego because I don't have anything besides, it's my nature. So, I use my ego in order to reach manifestation of Chesed, an impression of Mercy that is why it is called work and faith above reason, the power of bestowal above the power of reception. Because it is from below upwards.

42. S. (1:25:02) When you take upon yourself work that you are not capable of doing is that work above reason?

R.  No, faith above reason does not mean that it is work that we cannot do, it is work that we can do, but it is work that includes our will to receive in it.  Where we want to build the desire to bestow above it and the desire to bestow, we need to receive above from the Creator because we don't have it in us. Our own will to receive and when we make this sandwich with faith above reason that is the spiritual work called the work of Aaron.

43. S. (1:26:02) In the ten, the work of Aaron is the correction of the vessels, where is it that the feeling comes in?

R. We will talk about it.

44. S. (1:26:30) How can we come closer precisely to the quality of Aaron, to Aaron's attribute and work in our ten?

R. By connecting together, wanting to build the connection between us in a mutual way to build the quality of bestowal in the connection between us which is above all of our ego, which pushes us away from each other, putting distance between us and despite that and above that we want to be one man with one heart, then it means that we build the quality of Aaron in us. Which is exactly the separation which we have in between all of our egos in the ten, and the connection that we want to have exist in the ten above this. The difference between this and that is called the staff of Aaron and that is how we can advance and go forward.

45. S. (1:27:55) Why is Aaron the support for Moses the place that supports Moses, what does that mean?

R. He does what Moses speaks of, Moses speaks from the top down to the created beings and Aaron works from the created beings up towards the Creator.

46. S. (1:28:40) What does it mean Moses wrapped the serpent on the staff?

R. I will answer you because you have a good microphone.  It means Moses in the desert when the serpent came and wanted to harm the people of Israel, that group advancing towards the Creator, then what Moses did, he made a figure of a serpent from brass, from copper to show that there is nothing to this serpent but the way that it looks, except for its form. That it is possible to advance in a way that all of the people of Israel, all of the qualities of a person understood that there is nothing to the serpent but for it's terrifying form, but it is empty inside. There is nothing to it, and so they stopped fearing and they could advance and we will study this, soon we will begin to learn the Torah with you, other than our spirits will work we will also start learning, more or less, what the Torah speaks of, what it says from page to page we will go over the pages of the Torah and we will see what it truly tells us. Yes, it will come, it will all come.

47. S. (1:30:53) From what I understand it turns out that all of our work with Aaron we have Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, these are states that we can only observe but we can't influence them directly?

R. Right.

48. S. (1:31:25) In working above reason, is there a difference between corporeality and spirituality?

R. I don't know what is working corporeality? All of this spiritual work is in spirituality, I don't know as a result of my attitude towards the friends when I relate to them and I do something for them nice, maybe a meal. What is spiritual work in corporeality, I don't understand.

S. Isn’t corporeality a mirror of our spiritual work?

R. Give me an example.

S. Let's say, I want to do good to a friend, to love him.

R. And then you do something in corporeality to him.

S. Yes, I do some corporeal action to better my friend, from love to him.

R. It could be, it says corporeality shows the correct intention in spirituality.

49. S. (1:32:46) How do I know that the Mateh, the staff, is in the hand or if it is in the land, meaning the snake?

R. When love for the friends appears to you, love for the Creator, you take a step towards him in bestowal, you don't feel your connection to your will to receive, rather you have your own feeling of yourself among the friends. It is a feeling, the feeling has to give you the answer that you are advancing properly.

R. So until that doesn't happen, he is a snake, it's never a stick or a rod?

R. Yes.

50. S. (1:33:56) We say that the work always begins from the lower one and the Upper One responds, that's what we learned today, on the other hand we see that Creator, the Upper Force is what puts Moses and places him and tells him what to do, governs him, put him in Israel and Moses, it seems it all comes from above, how do these two things fall into place?

R. Where do you think the Commandments and precepts come from, the orders? It is all from above, we control the kids, we teach them how to correctly walk, how to grow up, but you think that from below, all of those things will come without direction from above?

S. So what exactly is the work of the lower one?

R. The work of the lower one is to resemble the Upper One, to hear, see or read what is written and to try and scrutinize those things and to do them in the connection between the friends. We need to establish between us a system of relationships called Creator, BoReh, “Come and see” this is the meaning of “You have made me.”

S. Then the point of Moses needs to be revealed within me to tell me what to do?

R. Of course not only Moses, but all of the attributes.

51. S. (1:35:58) What does it mean that there is no intermediate state because we work in two states? What is the intermediate state?

R. I don't understand the question.

52. S. (1:36:22) In the end of the 4th quarter it says that he has the triple blessing.

R. We didn't learn that try to ask what we're learning about to be together with everyone.

*Excerpt 10 Reader (1:36:59 - 1:40:46) reads twice*

53. R. This is the spiritual work, how can we strengthen ourselves in faith above reason, certainly we also feel heaviness in it, how specifically through the stone that we place under our hands, the hands of faith, how by that do we strengthen the faith and we raised the force of bestowal, faith above reason, the force of Moses even higher. For how long? Until the sun will set, what does that mean? That we cancel our intellect with the force of faith to such a degree that it stops interfering with our faith and later in the faith that we have attained, the Divine intellect is revealed and this is a higher degree of the intellect. Then we understand that we are in a different dimension.

44. S. (1:42:10) From the quote I understand that we need to take from the ego to strengthen faith, how to do that without harming myself?

R. We take our ego and we try to work with the part, the part we can build the quality of bestowal over love and connection and we don't awaken all of our ego, it is like a snake, a lion, like the evil force that you need to hold in a cage, and then to receive from it a little bit in order to raise the faith because faith cannot be built except for above reason, so we take a little bit of reason and you build faith above it, a little bit more reason and a little additional faith above it, and this is how you advance. Our entire ascent on the ladder of degrees from our lowest degree up to the highest degree is the Malchut of Ein Sof, v Olam Ein Sof…..when the snake rises we build ourselves on it, and then again we build ourselves on it again, meaning from below upwards we rise only from having the snake awakened and we awaken him. But he is in restriction, we awaken it and build the ascent above it and that is how we climb and again we let it climb and then we build above it. That is why it's called “A help against”, when I am in this work and he is helping me climb, our faith and our identification, equivalence with the Creator.

45. S. (1:45:09) What quality is Hur and why does Aaron have help in supporting Moses’ hands?

R. Aaron has to identify with Moses because he comes from below, from the forces of the created being and Moses is an example from above, from the Creator, how we can resemble the Creator, so Moses and Aaron in each and every degree they have to be together, they have to be similar to one another. The work of the lower ones of the person is to be like Aaron and the work of Aaron in the person has to send examples like Moses.

46. S. (1:46:22) Why is the connection between Aaron and Moses, why is it cut?

47. S. (1:46:55) What's the difference between faith above reason in the state of Moses to faith above reason in the state of Aaron?

R. One is from above is one is from below.

S. In terms of faith above reason itself?

R. The example of faith above reason is from Moses and the realization of this work from below is called Aaron.

48. S. (1:47:41) What can we do in a state where one reaches a state that the rod of Aaron fell and there's no strength to lift it, there's no strength to ask from the friends, there's no fear even to lose all of spirituality?

R. What to do in such a case?

S. Yes.

R. Constantly think, they have become an animal they have nothing from the degree of man except for what the Creator is shining so that you would know that you are an animal. That is to be included in the society, mechanically in everything that you can to be with them. Whatever they do you do, what you want doesn't matter. We are talking about mechanical participation.

S. What is your main recommendation for students who have been learning for a long time but as you have said it is not the time that determines advancement but working correctly, so what to do to advance correctly and not get stuck for years?

R. There are indeed many students who are studying almost 20 years, 15 for sure both men and women, and I want to say only one thing for many generations, for thousands of years there are people who invested themselves in spiritual work and would not feel that they are advancing.  We are reading about such things in the books, but now we can say in the past six months that we have had a few years where we made some progress towards entering the spiritual work, but from the beginning of the pandemic as 2020 rolled in, we started to advance tangibly, daily, so those people who are with us for many years and they were not able to feel that they are advancing, but they are working with us together they will finally feel that this is the time where they are advancing in practice from lesson to lesson. I recommend to everyone also those who left out of despair, we are dependent on the time, we are dependent on the Upper Force when He advances us and when He isn’t, you see what happened in history with people, how many people came out of Babylon wanting to come to spirituality, how many of them actually reach spirituality, how many left, how many disappeared? We are now receiving all of these souls in order to reach the end of correction, so it doesn't matter what was, we must start our work anew properly. We see that times are changing, the method changes and becomes more tangible, more serious with each passing day. Relate to it in seriousness and don't make yourselves into students who can relate to things this way or that way, every little thing in relation to the lesson is raising you up. Don't forget about the friends, write everything down, build the good and correct connection, organize your microphones, this is how you advance.

S. So what will help them is the correct attitude to the Morning Lesson, to the new format we’re in, that will help them advance?

R. This is the main thing everything else is an addition and result to that.

49. S. (1:52:46) The spiritual university that we are entering now and our serious work, what is the role of our guide and our teacher?

R. Are you talking about me?

S. Yes, it sounds like our attitude towards you is incorrect, so we're trying to understand what is necessary?

R. You need to try to do what I say and if you have questions about it to ask. Try to do it, those who don't do it, they come down from the degree of my students and they don't advance. Rather, try to see what I say, hear and write it, and accordingly you will advance because I am speaking about everything that has to be on the path. That is it, everyday there is a new small addition to try to hear it, to write it down. It is good for each and everyone to have a journal, and in this journal, he writes down everything that he hears as a summary, could be a digital, could be paper, however you want. But it has to be something serious, you keep these things day to day and it will help you later to teach others. To repeat those things, we will need to do that as well.

50. S. (1:54:44) There are many friends around us that used to be active and now for some reason they are no longer active in the ten, but they still watch the lesson alone, how can we help such friends?

R. Maybe it's not recommended to pressure them so that they don't run off, but let them advance like that, perhaps. Try to give them space to participate in the ten and nevertheless you need to speak more about the ten to show everyone that the spiritual work is realized in the ten, inside one person there cannot be any spiritual work, it can only be realized between one and another. This is a great problem and we can immediately tell if a person is on the path or not if he's building his relationships with the ten, then he's on the path, the base might be greater or lower but he's on the path. If it doesn't build his advancement in relationship with the tens and it's not on the path, it's not spiritual, he's just lying to himself.

S. When we talked to such friends, they say they understand but they're unable to enter the ten?

R. That is their evil inclination, that is the snake, it doesn't let them do it, I understand this is a big difficult point, but they have to do it as there is no other way in the ten has to show them, show such friends you have a place in the ten, that ten is waiting for them to give them an example on the relationships in the ten of how they are alive and progressing.

51. S. (1:57:08) What is the example that Moses gives Aaron, do we see this example in the ten to realize it as Aaron?

R. We receive daily explanation of what is the spiritual work and we need to try and do this spiritual work daily between us, to do it between us and faith above reason. This means that we are advancing in the work of likening the work of Aaron to the work of Moses.

52. S. (1:57:52) In this time, is it appropriate to still demand as a student to be married and have children and have a job, etc.?

R. I would say it is nevertheless important, I would say it is important. In my days Rabash would not accept an unmarried student. Go get married and come back and then enter the studies, that was his condition. Today the whole world is such that this condition can barely be applied, but nevertheless a person has to have a family, he needs to work and needs to study and care about his correction, correction of the family, correction of the world, everything. We need to be men, what can you do?

S. In the ten, do we need to discuss this?

R. Not discuss it but know it and do it, discussions you should have on spiritual work and do the spiritual work without much discussion.

53. S. (1:59:36) Moses was the force of faith did the force of faith have any doubts?

R. Faith is entirely built on doubts because faith is that which does not exist in my reason, above reason is always something that I have no grasp in my will to receive, so I can't say this exists or it doesn't exist and what or in how and so on and so forth. So, faith is always built on doubts. This is good actually, we will learn about it more.

54. S. (2:00:30) What kind of work is more beneficial work where I do it from joy and want to with a desire and I run towards it or work that I do with resistance to my ego that my ego rejects it and I do it nevertheless?

R. Most beneficial is to build everything on the resistance of the ego, this is called restriction, screen, and reflected light as we learn about the construction of Partzuf, it can't be any other way when you're building the structure of the soul.

S. What to do with all of this work that feels very mechanical?

R. You're not there with your egoistic desire is what I'm hearing, okay what do you want? Of course, it's not going to be this way. Of course the overcoming that you will apply above your will to receive, let's say when you're giving a gift to a friend you don't feel anything in it, but you know that if you will do it be considered as bestowal, as a spiritual act perhaps. Okay, I understand that you are not impressed by it, there is no impression.

S. That is the question, do I need to search for this impression or do you need to say that this is the spiritual working it'll always be this way?

R. This will come in different forms and in one day it will enjoy this work and not that you will enjoy it and it will push you further into bestowal, rather bestowal will always come through resistance and above reason. And you will enjoy the fact that you are working in resistance to your ego. Seemingly masochistic when you overcome your ego. That's how it is.

55. S. (2:02:59) It is unclear to me what the collaboration between Aaron and the same Ushpizin that we already received in Sukkot?

R. You're right, what am I trying to say, we have received from above with his Ushpizin, his guests, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, these qualities and also Moses, Aaron is seemingly not from above he comes from below, meaning Aaron comes from above, but with a preparation from below, here we see this combination between the Creator and the created being in this is how it looks. What is Aaron, faith which is the power of Creator, bestowal, above reason, our reception and our ego. Aaron is the mix, the mitigation of both forces from above and below and this is why he comes always with Moses. Moses brings this quality from above and Aaron comes through the effort from below. That's why it's a little bit difficult for us to understand, so what does it mean, a guest, Ushpizin, what does it mean that it comes down from above? What comes down from above is the realization of the faith above reason, our efforts, seemingly, also and what kind of effort can we put in, we only ask and we try, but we received from above the forces, the strength to connect. We received from up above the force to overcome the will to receive and then about that we reveal the power of faith, this is how it works.

56. S. (2:05:45) In order to clarify its place can you explain that Aaron is Chesed and Aaron is the right hand of Moses, but Aaron is Hod which is left, can you clarify?

R. Yes, because he is built over the will to receive which is the left and he brings himself to a state where he presents himself as Chesed, as the right. This is indeed a complex quality that is made of two, faith above reason, two opposites that exist in one carrier. We learned it in a different way, this is why I said that in the beginning of the lesson that we are learning this lesson together, it is not that I read and explain, rather together we open up these texts and we learn, each one is trying to learn it as if by himself and anew.

57. S. (2:07:25) Is the force of Aaron related to the revelation of evil?

R. The force of Aaron is related to the revelation of evil from below, but Aaron himself, is it overcoming over this evil and the building of the Mercy above the evil.

58. S. (2:09:16) Does Aaron’s qualities also connect with the idea of Nitzchuni Bnei- my sons have defeated me?

R. Yes there is something there.

*Excerpt 11 Reader (2:09:48 - 2:11:38)*

59. R. Of course we will always have disturbances and problems and questions and even troubles, and we will always need to overcome them and to build faith above reason, bestowal above reception with greater and greater disturbances and therefore we only need to believe that what is given to us, problems and questions, it is always suited to our forces, to our ability, to our state. The Creator wants to advance us and that is how He does it. We are not given obstacles to push us down but only to elevate us increasingly more. That is why a person should be certain that what he is facing he is able to overcome, he is able to attain a higher spiritual state. And we need to help one another to be all of us with such an attitude.

60. S. (2:13:07) Is Moses the point in the heart and Aaron is really the ten?

R. Well yes, you could say that to an extent.

61. S. (2:13:45) The question is, what is the difference between the work of Aaron and the work of Isaac?

R. The work of Isaac isn't work, it is a quality from above and the work of Aaron is work from below.

62. S. (2:14:14)  It appears from the lesson today that the beginning of our work is in Aaron, we try to rise to the example to meet the example that Moses is presenting, but you have such an example we need to head so that we have the correction of Israel precedes the lower corrections. So where does the work start from? We have to build the Rosh in the ten so we can make all the lower vessels resemble, am I understanding properly?

R. First of all we only talk about the elements of the work and you're right that we don't see this work in whole, its completeness, that I agree that is true, but we can't do it in any other way, how will you learn if today Ushpizin of Aaron, then we need to learn about this quality, what is it in us that it needs to be but it's not. Like all of these qualities of the Ushpizin, none of the qualities are in us, but we learn this in order to realize this later on. How can we learn? What would you want to hear?

S. I'm saying for a person to do an action in faith above reason he needs first Moses to appear, to have an image of what he needs to aspire to?

R. How can you reveal this picture of Moses if you're not ready for it from below, Moses is pure bestowal, Aaron is already the realization of the form of Moses through Malchut.

S. Exactly, he knows what he has to do if I don't know this quality in Moses or the Patriarchs then I don't know what is the work, I need to have to put in the effort to reach from point A to point B, to take my will to receive and turn it in order to bestow, but I need to see where we are going to get an example and see and feel what is this head that I need to adapt to a body?

R. So I think we've had enough articles that talk about how we need to realize these qualities in the ten, Rabash writes about it, how do I annul myself toward the tens, how do I raise my friends above and how do I give them example of myself? All in all, there we see how it gives us all kinds of forms, it teaches us all different forms of these Ushpizin, these guests, and this form in that form and another. That is exactly what Rabash is explaining to us.

S. So, this is how we scrutinize ahead so we can do the work towards it….

R. Yes, all of this Ushpizin, we learn it theoretically and slowly, slowly we realize it gradually in the connection we realize it, but of course it is only in a group like Rabash writes, that is the only way that we can realize it.

S. Thank you and sorry for some

R. No it was good, your questions were good.

63. S. (2:18:46) The quality of Moses and Aaron, the two book ends of our place out of work?

R. You can say one is as an example and the other is as the realization. Yes, you can say that.

64. S. (2:19:16) You spoke at the beginning of the lesson and you mentioned it again that we are learning together, what does that mean this learning together?

R. If we don't learn together then we are not learning the wisdom of Kabbalah, the wisdom of Kabbalah we learn together, meaning that we want to realize this between us, we want to hear this together. We want to, even if you learn with a teacher then with a teacher you need to be as a couple, as one. Just like that.

S. How can we be in the ten as a pair with a teacher?

R. No, you don't need to be together with me, if two are learning together with the teacher alone then they need to be as the teacher and student and also as two friends. We don't need that for us, we already have groups and tens, it is not couples like it was two thousand years ago.

S. So it's not clear what you meant, when you said you would come and teach us, but we have to….

R. What you read in the articles you need to realize this immediately in the connection between you and I think it's clear to everyone, otherwise it's not the study of Torah, it's the study of wisdom.

65. S. (2:21:18) How do we realize the attribute of Aaron in the ten and work Lo Lishma?

R. To try and build the force of bestowal above and in spite of the quality of reception that is called faith above reason and that is how we do it between us. Meaning we build two levels, one level of where our ego is and the other level is where we relate to one another and bestowal and love. On these two levels we have restriction and screen.

*Excerpt 12 & 13 Reader (2:22:25 - 2:25:23)*

66. R. We today throughout the day let us try to read this article, this excerpt number 13 from Rabash, “What is the need to borrow the vessels from the Egyptians.” Whoever has time throughout the day should read that, it is exactly related to the work of Aaron. To our work in practice. I hope that you started treating the quality of Aaron much more seriously than what you heard or thought before got my like someone concealed, it is concealed because if it there isn't work on behalf of the lower one, there is an Aaron.  We don't see, we don't remember, we don't understand, it's nonexistent. Aaron appears when there is over coming on behalf of man to connect himself to the degree of Moses to this form which is bestowal the person that is Malchut the will to receive that wants to come closer to the form of Moses, bestowal, in that, Aaron appears by Moses side, otherwise it is as if he has disappeared he is non-existent, he's in some kind of shadow of Moses. So, let us read this Article, “What is the need for borrowing the vessels from the Egyptians.” You can see it's a matter of the staff and the snake, it is a very important article, very related to our work. We need to try and read such things if we get together in a ten once or twice a day. I hear there are such get-togethers, it is better than what you talk. That is good too, but to read something from the sources, especially if we're talking about the Ushpizin of Aaron which is our work from below upwards.

67. S. (2:28:53) The work in the degree of Aaron, is this the scrutiny of the evil inclination of the vessel or the correction of the vessel or both?

R. No it's building the quality of bestowal upon reception, now of course this includes in it different scrutiny, what the will to receive in me is, how I can do a restriction, how I can rise above it, how I can bestow above the will to receive where I have the strength to bestow, how I received from above the light that reforms which bestows and builds within me the will to bestow. Where does the will to bestow even come from, does it come from me? From my will to receive and suddenly a desire to bestow comes from it? How can that be? It's something that's a completely different world, how can it be, how can it happen? So then it turns out that we need to feel this, how we accept  such forces, how we can overcome our will to receive, and by that advance, I still don't understand how it happens, just to receive from above that some kind of package falls on me. We need to try and comprehend this.

S. No translation for the question.

R. Aaron is the quality of bestowal that is already built upon the quality of reception, it is already something whole, like Moses gives an example from above like this is how I need to be and that is how I build from myself the form, that same form from below that I need to resemble. So, there's two examples; the example of the Creator, let's call it the Godly part from above, that's Moses, and the work from below which is done by Aaron. Aaron does this from a person's will to receive, he forms bestowal, look what Aaron is, I didn't think that beforehand that it was such an important state. He is more important than Moses. Moses all In all gives us connection to the Creator and says to us, he passes on to us what the Creator wants to give to us, to convey to us and Aaron all of our work, our efforts in faith above reason, what we want to identify with the Creator is that He presents Moses as an example, it's a form, that's why they always go together. Moses without Aaron cannot do the work, then when Aaron dies as I was asked today, we will learn what it means.

S. It turns out that in order to be in the quality of Aaron, I have to be even more connected with the quality of Moses and appreciate the state from it or the people?

R. If you are not connected with your will to receive, with your ten then you can't realize the quality of Aaron, the quality of Aaron is already work with true realization and work above reason. So you need to feel your reason, your ego, the qualities and how you overcome them, how you build from yourself that is something that isn't you but it's opposite you, it's the quality of bestowal, above reception and then by that you build the quality of Aaron.

68. S. (2:34:09) Regarding your advice during the day to read the article several times on my way to meet during the day 2 or 3 times for 15 minutes maybe more and we typically listen to part of the lesson and do a workshop, so let's understand the assignment, do you recommend today to simply read the article and that's it?

R. Yes, one article is the matter of the need to borrow the vessels from the Egyptians and the other one is a matter of the staff and the serpent. So one is “What is the Need to Borrow Vessels from the Egyptians” and the second one is “A Matter of the Serpent and Staff”, Shamati 59, there can be something in between, either you use the will to bestow or a will to receive and how do you build one with the other.

69. S. (2:35:51) What is the true serpent that prevents us from reaching the state of Aaron?

R. That is our ego, there's nothing more than that, meaning all of our thoughts, not on the friends and not on the Creator, but anything else that is considered the snake, the serpent.

70. S. (2:36:36) You just explained why Moses and Aaron were always together. Is there significance to that in our work, they are brothers?

R. They need their brothers because one comes from the side of the Creator and one comes from the side of the created being, but they both need to be similar to one another, it is one form, one image when is from the side of the created being is one is from the side of the Creator, you can call them brothers because of the Matronitah, the Creator, he begets these two forms of Moses and Aaron but he only presents them this way for us so that we will know one is the desired state and one is the desired state is Moses, and the current is the state of Aaron.

71. S. (2:38:04) How can the ten practically strengthen in faith above reason all of the Bnei Baruch Group?

R.  With prayer, it is like an amplifier when you put in it, a very small signal in the entry of it, in the input then what you get amplified is multiplied many times more. So you need to reach out to the Creator with prayer and the Creator will arrange everything, He is connected to everyone He knows how to do it and what to do, you should make an effort to load work onto Him this is called the work of their Creator, try to pressure Him and do everything that you can in order for it to work. Only our prayer is the actual force that changes reality, that corrects us, that builds us, only prayer. So, don't forget about it today, why? Because that is the most important work in the realization of Aaron’s Ushpizin, that it will come to us, cloth in us and we will realize this as we should, we will succeed.
