Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. The Writings of the Last Generation (Continuing Part One)

Reading: (00:16) “The basis of my entire commentary is the will to receive…”

1. S. (06:23) He writes that after the destruction they will have no choice but to accept this work where there is no individual or nation. They will not work for themselves more than what is necessary for their sustenance because everything they will do will be for the good of others. Is that spiritual work?

R. It will be as spiritual work.

S. It sounds like a person who gets up in the morning in a society where from the morning until he goes to sleep the society activates him towards others, towards the society?

R. Yes.

S. Why don't we make a society like that? It would save a lot of time.

R. Doing what?

S. To establish this physical society like a Kibbutz where everyone gets up in the morning and serves everyone.

R. That's what Baal HaSulam dreamt of in his time but you see that, I asked Rabash also, but that's not how the world unfolds.

S. We can make it unfold that way. I ask this because it seems like there is a gap between what a person can do internally and what he can do in practice, in actions. If there was such a society it would simply lift him up without any spirituality?

R. Too bad we didn't meet with you 30 years ago, you could have seen how much we tried to enter certain villages, a Kibbutz, something communal, but it didn't work out for us. We need to write about it perhaps. It's very interesting how we tried to get into all kinds of situations like that. We had to pass all kinds of tests to be accepted into these cooperatives. It was as a clear barrier that we will not be accepted by anyone and that we have no choice but to feel like everyone else.

S. I'm asking this because each time the lesson finishes, I say I'm now going out to our work, I'm going to a world where I'm working, where I'm working for myself and I feel like I'm thrown away.

R. Yes, but I don't know what to tell you. Rabash also thought that this would be this way and Baal HaSulam, all the Kabbalists in their time were drawn to this way of life. I guess we are too much in contact with all of humanity so that this style of work, style of connection cannot influence everyone and that's why we are, we must advance the way that we are.

2. S. (10:18) Yesterday we had a meal with two Ten’s, the two of us sat here in the center and there was this very special feeling as there always is in these meals. Then I got home, the TV was on and I saw the huge gap between what we engage in and what the world is engaging in. And there awakened this question in me continuing with the friend just asked, can we simply each day not once a week or once a month but each day enter a few friends together into a small meal, where once you told me when you were with Rabash you found some dishes and you revealed that there were Kabbalists having meals all the time. Can we do something like that?

R. No, I talked about it with Rabash more than once, to establish a society in different styles. No, it's a different time, that time is gone. It's according to our intellect perhaps, still, I don't know what to do.

S. I'll ask it a bit differently, by us trying to become more and more physically connected, not virtually but physically, whoever can, each day not just once a week, beyond the morning lesson that we are all here studying together. Would that progress us to someplace or would it just lose flavor as a few friends told me?

R. If it will be a consistent framework that will connect us internally, of course, it's good, but if it'll be like a morning lesson where we expect when it will be over then we can run off to our businesses. That won't advance us.

S. Can I ask another question on what's written in the article?

3. S. (13:29) On the same topic I'll ask the question in an opposite manner. How could it be in the last generation that Baal HaSulam is talking about that everyone needs to, the whole nation needs to come and rise. How could it be that his dream or his task went through going through a closed society that lives within its own boundaries? How can we understand that if we want to bring everyone close then the society needs to be open not closed within itself? Why did he have such a dream?

R. He didn't want to build a closed society. He wanted to build a society that could become the seed of the connected nation of Israel.

S. I depicted him as wanting to build a community where he dreamed of an independent community where each person could keep the laws according to how the society influences him and wants him to keep. Doesn't that differentiate it from the rest of the society, the general society?

R. It does separate us from the rest of society and from other societies. When a society in Israel organizes itself this way, I don't know what to say. I was not part of the society that Baal HaSulam wanted to build. There were a few people who were connected to one another, nevertheless, and worked in connection, I didn't see even among those people who meet every evening for a small meal at Rabash's, it was very special. I did see it as something very special. It was a different time you understand, the country of Israel was different, it was more rural everything was, no it's not for us. We have to advance the way we are. These talks are a waste of time.

S. And what does it mean for us, how should we progress that way?

R. We need to advance towards the connection between us.

S. In these conditions that we have in this form, not in our closed society and not in some kind of closed community?

R. No.

S. Just like the friends say we go outside and we lose this protective society and then there is fear and concern. Would it not be better to be in a society that constructs itself in such a way?

R. True, we tried a few times more than a few times and we saw that it's not working, the Upper force is literally closing the doors before us.

4. S. (17:21) I'm quite frustrated, look if you follow the path of Torah and you receive the spice and if you don't and you follow the path of suffering, then all the wars will be revealed, hydrogen and atom bombs in the world. There's this law, “I the Lord do not change,” what does it mean that I made this law and I do not change?

R. All in all humanity needs to reach a connection and unity to everyone together in a single embrace.

S. Excellent, what we see is we don't even get any help, maybe I'm the fool. I feel that the Creator is not helping us, no external help. I'm not talking about the inner work that we are doing, no external help, in the court of Hague, we are the killers, not they are the killers. Everything is upside down; we don't see any help from outside?

R. I understand everything that you want to say and whether you say it or not, but that is what we have in our times. What should we do? I don't know.

S. Doesn’t that churn your stomach that we became the killers because weren’t, they are the ones who murdered our children, we are the killers? You sit there frustrated, you don't believe that I’m sitting there thinking, I can't believe my eyes. Where is the Creator’s help, we're doing work here, the reforming light?

R. It could be from such forms we reach redemption.

S. How do you see it?

R. I don't see it.

S. Like that redemption will come?

R. Yes.

S. How can you turn it around so something like that won't happen? Forget how we behave toward one another, but you see these external forces come and do to us?

R. These things accumulate more and more together, and I hope that the world will increasingly demand a change, an inversion.

S. Look at what we're seeing. I can't believe it! I can’t believe my eyes.

R. What do you want to recommend?

S. What do I want to recommend? I don't know, maybe we should behave differently, a few soldiers said, shut your mouth about what you're doing there in the media. They said just shut your mouth, they are on the battlefield and you're talking up there in the media and politics you continue to devour each other, and we die here on the sanctity of the Creator. How can you explain it, that our children are there and here people continue to do the same as they did before, and nothing changes? You're talking about correction and the Messiah; how can you explain such a thing that nothing changes?

R. Everyone is in this slumber.

S. Yes, it doesn't influence.

R. Everyone is in a slumber, I don't know.

S. You see a future for this country, for humanity in this country?

R. I don't see a future for the whole planet.

S. To that extent?

R. What should we discuss about the land of Israel, what can I say?

5. S. (21:25) This change from caring for myself, which is what I am to the desire to care for the others, is it a gradual change or does it happen at once?

R. I think it needs to happen like some explosion inside the society where in a short frame of time, a tight short narrow piece of time. We will come to the understanding, the awareness of the decision that it's impossible to continue this way and we need to invert.

S. In The world where I come from things are measured, can it be measured how close we are?

R. No these are spiritual things you cannot measure where we are, we don't see them, we only see external changes in the corporeal world accordingly we can depict what there is in the spiritual world.

6. S. (22:37) Most people will agree with what Baal HaSulam describes, as a social-economic method. But there are a few rich people with a fortune that they won’t agree to make this happen. What will change their minds?

R. I don't know I don't think about them, it's a matter of the revelation of the upper knowledge to a person.

S. What is it that depends on this exchange?

R. Don't ask me I don't know, I for myself, already at least 40 years I'm expecting changes.

7. S. (23:30) I wanted to propose or ask maybe we can study the article, the matter of the importance of the society because there's no other council but to establish a society, so we will have a framework which is the matter of a separate community that doesn't mix with others. Because of the question of how to be in an open society or a closed society, we have to live within humanity, but do we protect ourselves, it requires a scrutiny.

R. I don't know, don't ask me, we study what Baal HaSulam wrote and Rabash also touched on that a little, but really Rabash didn't want to speak about that that much because it all doesn't sound realistic.

S. Yes, but practically how to protect ourselves from day to day, this is a big group and most of our friends around the world are small, so it's important to know how we can do it.

R. I don't know, you are asking me, I don't know. “There is none as wise as the experienced,” and there is no one experienced in this.

S. Maybe from the common scrutiny we can hear the friends in the world Kli vessel in different places?

R. No, I saw all kinds of things, we wanted a few times to enter a Kibbutz, we went through all kinds of tests, qualification tests, and we saw there was no blessing.

S. I understand that when he says there isn't a solution but we should exist correctly. I think it's worth scrutinizing it somehow.

R. I don't see any solution, I don't see it.

S. Meaning, the Creator wants to leave us with this question open so that we will constantly think about it?

R. Maybe, I don't know. He was never happy whenever we spoke about that because, to our sorrow, the time passed.

8. S. (26:27) With your feeling what are you expecting to happen? I feel like for a long time now at least, I've been feeling you very strongly with all the dissemination the friends are doing and the study of the exertion, we're on this standby mode?

R. Yes.

S. Going through what we are reading here we're expecting a nuclear blow, a hydrogen bomb, God forbid, so that something will move in the hearts of people, I personally don't want it to happen, I imagine most of humanity does not want it to happen. But the need for change is what can move people. What do you feel might realistically happen on our part, our addition with this feeling of standby mode is very strong.

R. The revelation of the Creator to the created beings in this world, that's what needs to be. And it doesn’t depend on us, we continue to study. We prepare ourselves; we prepare our small atmosphere, and we try to influence the entire world, but what does it mean the entire world? From all those billions of people, how many are in general capable of accepting these ideas correctly? I don't know what to do, but we need to do what is possible as much as possible. That is all.

9. S. (28:39) There are strong signs even lately of a very big change with the younger generation, those who are high school age. Their parents, some of them are active partners in this plan and they got to a very fine resolution up close to divide our country into two for the Jews not for us, and the Arabs, two groups of Jews. And what happened after October 7th created this affinity, I guess this great awakening, that they received from above and they are not willing to buy this confusion this separation also a week and a half or two weeks ago I heard the friend explain to us about the plan that is already in the making, the plan for dissemination. I understand about marketing, and it deals more with the how and less with the what which is critical. As someone who understands marketing, I felt like a window was opened. Maybe it's concealed from us for all kinds of reasons but there are signs of a great awakening, a great change among these youth and I think that if I were one of them and I received what was being prepared in dissemination I would buy it wholesale, something wonderful.

R. Great.

S. This point incorporating in the Ten’s more to help pass on data from the field in order to fine-tune it, but something is starting to be built and I’m using words beyond my attainment. But this vessel is being created among the youth to join the army and something happened among the soldiers and it’s going to break all kinds of conceptions. I see people who were part of the big protest a few months ago and they have this huge confidence that there will be elections, and everything was cracked, they lost this confidence. I see a strong sign of something good awakening despite everything.

R. Nice, I don't really understand you but, I grasp a little bit of your spirit.

10. S. (32:27) We want to say how much we are all supporting you, we love you, and we are holding each and every one of you in Israel and around the world. There's a special preparation before the lesson, we do the meals with everyone every day, the lessons, and with the friends around the world, from Ukraine and Israel, we want to bring this goodness. We can do this in the Ten for the whole world.

R. Thank you very much and your words of blessing.

11. S. (33:35) We had Covid beforehand we closed our centers and then we didn't go to the Arava convention and went to the center with many friends, and we expanded the walls of our center for our friends during the Congress. The last of them left in the shadow of the sirens of the war. The Creator isolated us, the Israeli Kli from the rest of the world, friends cannot come to Israel from the world. Why did the Creator position us in this way, what is he trying to tell us?

R. I don't feel that in any way, someone who is capable who can come and has the strength to come so he comes, that way we cannot do a big convention for all of our friends also from abroad, there's nothing that we can do, the Creator decides that.

S. How do you feel it, why was this given to us and what should we do with the state to change it?

R. We can change only within ourselves, if our relations change then everything will change.

12. S. (36:11) From 1958 to 1960 the Parliament gave us the definition of who's a Jew, one who declares directly that he's a Jew should sign as a Jew without any proof. Should we get back to such definitions for everyone to identify with that?

R. I don't know and please don't take time from others who do not engage in that.

13. S. (37:20) In two weeks we have a Congress and friends from all over the world are organizing various gatherings. Also, in Israel the friends are working hard to prepare for the Congress, how do you see the Congress, how to prepare ourselves more powerfully? There's a lot of excitement, and a lot of work, do we need additional focus?

R. I don't know, the convention we're having in two weeks here in Israel and also in many places around the world we will connect, and we will be rewarded with one of the few steps forward on our path. Could be that this little bit forward each time is that determining step.

S. We’re going to scrutinize more of the work between us in the Tens, how do you see it happening and how do we prepare ourselves better for it?

R. A person who does not feel himself connected in the Ten, who does not feel that the Ten attracts him or that he isn’t drawn to it, is really a person with no, it's like a kid who lost his parents, because only in the Ten can he come to adhesion with a Creator, to revelation of the Creator, to the revelation of the Upper light upon him only in such a way. The Ten is the vessel, it's like a magnifying glass or something that draws the Upper light to the person and then the person can receive it. In the Ten he needs to find his friends there, that is the greatest thing, it is the greatest thing. There are those who can jump up and shout and sing and there are those who speak about it very modestly, but really, there's nothing greater than the Ten who are connected together.

S. How to scrutinize perhaps to come with this tense feeling with my attitude towards the Ten? How can each one here see, see what he can add, is it a personal thing or a matter of the Ten?

R. Both, there are those who live very far away and perhaps they do not have the means to enter into a constant connection with their Ten, but in any case, I think that most of us are somewhat ready to incorporate in the Tens and to be awarded with the reforming light. I very much hope that this will happen, that it will in any case happen. I discussed that with Rabash in states that were also quite complex and quite tight, and I saw how much he was full of hope that these things need to be carried out precisely in such a way. Let us hope that that is what will happen.

14. S. (42:14) What kind of preparation each and every Ten have to do in order to come to the congress with seemingly one Ten or come out with another Ten but to have a sense of novelty or innovation with my Ten, with my permanent friends that will come out with a new perception of reality?

R. That will feel through my individual Ten the whole world Kli so much so that I will suddenly see as if I receive this new instrument, like the internet or the radio or the TV where I received through the Ten my new connection with all thousands and thousands of people who are in thoughts and yearnings for a new world. And today we already feel that, that before us, a new world needs to appear and we on our behalf need to be worthy of it.

S. What do I discover in this new instrument?

R. I revealed that the whole world is in an inclination to that, and that describes that from South America through to Alaska all these places all the way through to Siberia, we're talking about many people all around the world.

S. The whole world?

R. In my Ten I reveal it is ready to accept everyone in a warm embrace.

15. S. (44:25) There are two common states in the Ten, there are Tens that have that density that feeling they described that something like the home of everything, it's a life of a person. And there are Tens where friends come to the Ten based on some momentum that they have and if I understand correctly, this form should be taken off and enter this form of inner scrutiny and fear and respect for my Ten and what I'm bringing to the Ten. How to shed this apathetic attitude and at least when a person sees himself in the corrected state, how to go through this period?

R. You should discuss this, you need to decide on that, and you need to observe exercises toward that. I do not have answers for each and everything. Is that okay, I can’t do this, because if I give to some, everyone will want it. What am I going to do?  We will continue in our morning meal with whoever is staying with us, yes. Afterward, we will see what’s to do. I have great hope toward the changes that are coming to our world, and I have this inner joy where I have nothing to hide, nothing to close. It will be good.
