Baal HaSulam, Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah, #92
https://kabbalahmedia.info/en/sources/kB3eD83I?language=en
1. R. (00:20) We are learning a very important thing now, well basically everything is important because it is all the same system but this action called raising MAN we are learning in the upper world how it works and its origin, but later for us we already talked about it a lot. Raising MAN is basically our main action with regard to our advancement and correction and nothing can we attain by the force of prayer, by the force of request, in the words of the wisdom of Kabbalah
it's called raising MAN, raising the deficiency from the created being to the Creator, how it works, how it goes. Let’s see what Baal HaSulam writes.
Reading item #92 (01:17) The Matter of Raising of MAN of ZAT of Nekudim to ABA and Ima Explaining the Sefira Daat.
2. R. (02:44) This means that we have here an explanation how this system exists and bestows on the Creator so in this system we have degrees like blocks, Keter, Aba ve Ima and ZON. That is how it is and each and every part is divided into face and posterior. The vessels of the face are called vessels that can bestow, the vessels of the posterior are vessels that want to receive. Then the correction comes first to the vessels to the face wanting only one thing only to bestow and then comes the correction to the to the vessels of the posterior so he says, I will repeat the text:
Rav reads #92 again and explains
It remained in the degree for which they're called anterior vessels, vessels of Panim they can receive the light, they don’t have so much of the will to receive, and AHP, the second part of the degree, which fell from the degree to the one below it, are called the posterior vessels because they fell to a degree below it. Thus each degree is now twofold divided into the face and the posterior made of internality and externality since the posterior vessels of the upper degree fell into the internality of its own anterior vessels. The fall of AHP of Keter of Nikudim are clothed inside of Galgalta Ein aim of Aba ve Ima. And the fall of AHP in Aba ve Ima are clothed inside Galgalta Eynaim. of ZAT of Nikudim.” That’s what Baal HaSulam writes. Is something clear or not? I see that there are no questions so I understand nothing is clear. Maybe I will draw this for you. [Rav drawing] We have one degree which is called the degree of Keter, it does not matter what degree it is or where it is. It’s divided into two halves: the first part and the second part so it turns out that the first part is called Galgalta Eynaim. and the second part is called AHP. Let's say this is the degree of Keter. Truth is it doesn’t really matter what it is or where it is, so what happened here. The bottom Hey, which is Malchut, is here, the end of the degree rose upwards, the restriction in it rose upwards and limited the degree so that if the upper light comes, it will only come to the Galgalta Eynaim. It can’t come to AHP and the limit between Galgalta Eynaim and AHP is called Parsa. Each and every degree in the second restriction meaning we are in it the worlds of ABYA are all incorporated in such Partzufim. In each Partzuf, in each detail there is a division to GE and AHP. Where GE are in vessels of giving and AHP are in vessels of receiving in reception, receiving in reception.
Rav reads:
R. (08:47) “ It has already been explained due to the ascent of the bottom hey to the NE which occurred in the second restriction. When the Katnut of the ten Sefirot of Nikudim emerged, each degree divided into two halves. GE remained in the degree for which they're called interior vessels.” These vessels of GE are called the vessels of the Panim, the face interior vessels and AHP which fell from the degree to the one below it. AHP are therefore called posterior vessels. Thus each degree is now twofold made of internality and externality. The upper part is called Panim, interior and the bottom part is called Ahoraim, posterior. “Each degree is now twofold made of internality and externality since the posterior vessels of the upper degree fell into the internality of its own interior vessels. The fallen AHP of Keter of Nikudim are clothed inside GE of Aba ve Ima and the fallen AHP of Aba ve Ima are clothed inside GE of ZAT of Nikudim.“ Meaning if we once used to have a matter of order, being, suppose it was part of Keter and a part of Aba ve Ima and ZON, these three parts. Now it looks this way, the part of Keter only has GE, the second part Keter has restricted itself being within GE of Aba ve Ima. Meaning this part is here and AHP of Aba ve Ima is not there in the degree. They are already outside, they are clothed in the lower Partzuf. Meaning of all these three parts of Rosh Toch Sof of the Partzuf, there's only GE left in each and every part and AHP of every piece has fallen to the lower degree. We'll talk about this.
3. S. (12:30) This division of posterior and face, back and face, this exits in all states at the same time or is it cause and effect?
R. In each and every state we have it simple. Keter, Hochma, Bina, Hesed, Gevurah, Tifferet, Netzah, Hod, Yesod and Malchut. Ten Sefirot. KHB, HG until the middle of Tiferet, they are vessels of bestowal. Excuse me, forgive me, I'm talking about but I'm not drawing what I'm saying. The middle of Tiferet we have vessels of bestowal having all in all the force to give. Of course it's from the bestowal of the upper light but they can do that. From the vessels of Tiferet and below they have the will to receive. That's why these vessels KHB HGT are called the vessels of the interior and from Tiferet on, they are called the vessels of Ahoraim, posterior, the back and in the middle, there's the Parsa. Everywhere where we see ten Sefirot that is how they divide to the Panim and the Ahoraim.
S. Is there concealment above the Parsa?
R. Certainly above the Parsa there's already a concealment.
S. in our work when the...
R. Yes, when we look at our vessel how much they are in bestowal and how much they are in reception and we can build in them the force of the Parsa which will not let the lights to shift from the upper part called GE to the lower part called AHP. Here we will have a true border, a boundary called Parsa, then the upper light can shine in this part we call Panim, the face.
4. S. (15:53) When you say that the lower Hey worked in the second restriction was annulled in the state of smallness remains. There was Gadlut before it?
R. Great and Small are things that exchange, it depends what we're speaking about, here we are speaking in general what it was before or after I do not know. I'm explaining what forms can take place in the ten Sefirot?
S. When they descend it is a state of Gadlut?
R. Right when we are still more in smallness we will give more force to the vessels to grow a screen, so also the vessels of the posterior will get the force of the screen and then the Partzuf, face can return into greatness.
5. S. (17:07) In our work when we raise Malchut to Bina it is as if our desire does not become not our desire and we have the build you receiving these desires?
R. We never have our own desires we always get our desires from the upper light that bestows upon us and brings us all kinds of desires, and we just need on each and every desire that we discover in each and every moment, to try and bring us that force of resistance to use everyg desire it in order to bestow.
6. S. (17:58) We say that after the shattering there was a mixture, mingling between the vessels of reception and the vessels of bestowal, how out of this concept of mingling, we reach degrees of upper and lower and in GE and AHP. What is the connection between the mingling and what you are explaining now?
R. Now I will explain elements of posterior, face, GE, AHP, smallness and greatness. I'm still not ascribing this to anywhere or any world. In general there is such a division in the ten spheres or in the Partzuf that can take place. If ithas forces it would be greatness, if it doesn’t it will be in smallness.
S. Meaning after the shattering that is how each and every desire is divided?
R. After the shattering every desire is divided into, or includes the shattered parts, then when they are organized into Sefirot, Partzufim, so they have such a structure of GE and AHP.
7. S. (19:25) What is the principal difference between the Partzufim being clothed with one on the other and when the Partzufim are clothed one in the other?
R. One in the other is the same Partzuf clothing. One upon the other are two different Partzufim that have a different nature and they clothe on each other but they can reach a certain degree to equalize with the Creator. Each one by that attains according to his own nature but not by that do they become one.
8. S. (20:21) He says something very strange here. He says in the way here, that each and every degree becomes divided into two halves: internality and externality since the posterior vessels fell. Tell me what was there before, a blank page? Who's building these degrees
R. The white light, None Else Besides Him.
S. Where do we fit in?
R. Here, it is not speaking about us yet. We are not here yet but later on it will be through raising MAN.
S. What does it mean twofold, internally and externally?
R. It is divided into an internal part and an external part.
S. What does it mean, according to what you drew?
R. The internal part is called GE the vessels of bestowal, that in them according to their desire can appear usually the light of Mercy and in the lower part it wants to receive in order to bestow or even if it is restricted if it doesn't have a will to receive in order to bestow. It only wants to receive and then it is restricted. Everything according to the desire and a screen on the desire.
9. S. (22:15) The AHP of the upper one and GE of the lower, they seemingly sit in the same degree, is there a meaning for them that they are in the same degree?
R. No, they complete each other but still each one according to his nature, they're different from each other. GE are vessels of bestowal and AHP are vessels of reception. If they have a screen and a mutual screen so they perform an action like one Partzuf but if they do not have a mutual screen, so to the extent of the upper light bestowing on them they are divided into GE and AHP. That towards the upper light GE doesn't resist it, is not against it, and then it is vessels of bestowal, the quality of Bina. The AHP vessels that have a will to receive in them and that belongs to Malchut. That’s why the entire Partzuf is divided into those two halves, the top half GE the vessels of bestowal and the bottom AHP, which is the vessels of reception.
S. This principle when the AHP of the upper one and the GE of the lower one, it is a very important principle in the wisdom of Kabbalah. We learn this later, but what I'm asking now is how can we implement it in the relations in the ten for instance?
R. If you won’t stop asking what doesn't belong to what I am explaining now, I will never let you ask.
S. When we learned that...
R. I don’t want to hear you anymore because you are not helping me to explain the materials that is difficult to people anyway. Don’t ask anymore.
10. R. (24:35) I'm reading it again item number 92 “ it has already been explained that due to the ascent of the bottom Hey of Nikvey Einyim which occurred in the second restriction when the smallness of the 10 Sefirot of Nekudim emerged each degree divided into two halves GE remain in the degree for which they are called the interior vessels and the AHP which fell which are called the posterior vessels, each degree is now twofold of internality and externality since the posterior vessels of the upper degree fell to the internality of its own interior vessels. The fallen AHP of Keter of Nekudim are clothed inside GE of Aba ve Ima, the fallen AHP of Aba ve Ima are inside GE of ZAT of Nekudim.
11. S. (26:00) In the structure where AHP of the upper and the GE of the lower, are they 10 Sefirot ,who is bestowal and who is receiving?
R. Above the Parsa called GE there are the vessels of bestowal and below are the vessels of reception.
Reading #93 (26:39) “In consequence, when the new light of AB SAG of AK..”
12. R. (28:08) There is something very special that even if there was a degree below by the bestowing of the upper light, when she receives that light and wants through it to sanctify, to rise above, to be more of the bestower she can perform it and her add herself to a higher degree. It is like an elevator that you can rise from one floor to the next. I'm reading #93.
13. Rav reading. “In consequence when the new light of AB SAG of AK comes to a degree, the light of AB SAG is a very special degree, it comes from Hochma and Bina and this light includes all the corrections that need to be given to the will to receive, to start bestowing. “So when this light of AB SAG of AK comes to the degree and lowers the bottom Hei back to her place in the Peh, that first what is in NE that was in the second restriction when you could not use the vessels of reception only the vessels of bestowal were in that degree, meaning this light came in Gadlut of Nekudim it gives the small Partzuf of GE that were in it, they can add their AHP back. The degree returns the AHP up to her and its ten Sefirot of vessels and lights are completed reaching greatness. It is considered that the lower degree which was attached to the AHP of the upper, which fell into the lower one now when it ascends it takes the GE of the lower up with it and she can rise to the upper one. That is the rule there is no absence in spirituality as the lower was attached to the AHP of the upper one during the Katnut they are not separated from each other during the Gadlut as well. When the AHP of the upper return to their degree the lower degree has become a higher degree since the lower which rises to the upper becomes like it.
What is he telling us? [Rav is drawing] There was a higher degree, what did it do, it reached a state where it fell into a lower degree. Part of it remained above and part of it fell and it connected to the degree that was here in the state below. Now the upper light comes that is called the light of AB SAG, then this light bestows on the vessels and give forces to GE and to the AHP to rise and retu;rn to the degree it was in before, they return to the state as was supposedly as new state. This degree returns back GE and AHP and with it takes what it has here the mutual area between AHP and GE, takes it also adding into here. Then it turns out this AHP of the upper that fell when it returns it takes GE of the lower with it and then here we have something very special, first we have ten Sefirot, as they were before and we have ten Sefirot of GE and AHP that are new. Look as much as connections were made in the degree from ascents and descents, falls that come back up many Partzufim, we reach from having a square to a circle, a sphere until there is no more room and all is filled with ten Sefirot in the incorporation between them they fill all of reality, as an integral not a square by connecting in such a way.
14. S. (35:22) Can you explain really what causes this adhesion, this red line when the AHp of the upper falls to the GE of the lower, is there immediate division or is there an additional action?
R. There's an additional action from the lower one to the upper one, we will learn about it.
15. S. (35:46) How could the lower one be adhered to the AHP of the upper one if they are restricted?
R. By him restricting himself the upper one rises, when he raises them to a higher degree, the lower one needs to hold onto the upper one, she needs to lose even more of his independence supposedly. Like a baby that grabs the mother, the mother performs all kinds of actions and movements, he only knows one thing, like a little monkey to hold on to her.
S. That is strong enough for it?
R. Yes,by that he gets all the forces from the upper, we can actually learn this from animals because it is a state of Katnut, smallness.
16. S. (36:59) If the light wants to spread from EinSof throughout this whole process downwards, when the new light of AB SAG comes, what is new?
R. It is an additional light that comes in order to sanctify the vessels to give them extra screens because they did not have them before. You will see according to this drawing, GE were in the lower degree and now they rose to the higher degree and these are vessels and they need the screen in order to ascend and they also need a screen to be adhered to the AHP, they need a screen that towards the AHP they can be GE. Even though they're part of a lower degree, according to their structure there below the AHP. According to which they reach the same degree as the AHP they become more important because they have GE, vessels of bestowal and the AHP are vessels of reception, as much as the lower ascends and joins the upper, he sanctifies the upper and raises him higher, obligating him to ascend by adding qualities of bestowal.
17. S. (39:05) What are the dynamics between the Panim and Achoriam or GE and AHP, is this exactly what we are reading that there is no absence in spirituality?
R. No it has nothing to do with that, no. Absence in spirituality is the device that ascends and joins a higher degree also remains in the lower degree, this is called that there's no absence in the spiritual and then we have an addition here. That all the ascents that we are talking about, even though they take place, the previous place does not disappear and the previous vessel does not disappear and it's supposedly there's a doubling here, that all the ascents and descents and all the states, they all remain and they're here forever.
18. S. (40:25) In Item 92 it says that when the vessels of posterior fell into the internality of it, its own anterior vessels the fallen AHP of Keter of Nekudim are clothed, what does it mean to be fallen?
R. Like I drew it, let's say these AHP they are fallen into into these vessels.
S. He says of her own.
R. Yes of her own, her GE and AHP so when they rise and descend, they supposedly descended to their own place, it's not the same thing. Before the ascent and after the descent they are not the same thing.
S. What is the element that connects, seemingly there is nothing more than internally and externality so what connects the GE and AHP?
R. The ten Sefirot belong to one Partzuf, they complete each other they have an incorporation that every Sefira is included from the other Sefirot and that is why it is not ten, it is a hundred, you see, their connection is very internal and deep and it comes from their natural building that it cannot be otherwise.
19. S. (42:14) What happens to the AHP of the lower one when the GE of the lower one rises with the AHP of the upper one?
R. The AHP of the lower remains in its place the GE ascends to a higher, existing there to complete itself, and also there is a connection between it and its AHP, that is something that we will learn about.
