Part 2: Recorded lesson - July 20, 2006 - Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah #86.

M. Laitman: There’s a lot in here. In general, how does SAG create for itself a Kli, a vessel? Because here we're talking about the formation of the created being, the making of the created being by Bina. And therefore it is called Nekudot, dots. Well, continue.

Reader: We are in item 87. Item 87.

Reading: (00:53) Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah # 87. Twice

87) This is their explanation: Otiot [letters] are vessels, meaning the Sefirot of the Guf. This is because the ten Sefirot of the Rosh are but roots to the vessels, not actual vessels. Nekudot means lights, which sustain the vessels and move them, meaning light of Hochma, called light of Haya. This is considered a new light, which ZON of AK received from AB SAG and shone to the vessels of Nekudim, lowering the bottom Hey back to the Peh of each degree, and bringing the AHP of vessels and GAR of lights back to the degree.

M. Laitman: Where do the vessels come from? Every vessel of a subsequent Partzuf comes to us from the Guf of the previous Partzuf. Where does AK come from? From the Guf of Galgalta. So he says that all the letters are vessels, meaning the Sefirot of the Guf.

Nekudot means lights, which sustain the vessels and move them, meaning light of Hochma, called light of Haya. This is considered a new light, which ZON of AK received from AB SAG and shone to the vessels of Nekudim,

M. Laitman: Because a new light was revealed which didn't exist before, through the connection of Malchut and Bina, the vessels of reception and vessels of bestowal. Vessels from NHY of Galgalta, yes, which is Malchut, and vessels from Nekudot of SAG, which is Bina. And it's specifically through the combination between them, Bina and Malchut, a new vessel was revealed. It's possible for Malchut to work like Bina, in order to bestow. That is what worked as MAN here, for AB SAG. It became MAN for SAG, and SAG then addressed AK, and then from there to Ein Sof, and from Ein Sof, infinity, a new light came, a new light was revealed, called the light of AB SAG. Why the light of AB SAG? It's called that because AB can provide the light of Hochma with no limitations, directly, yes? Because it has, as we learned, corresponding to the Yesod of AB, there's no covering of Hassadim there, and therefore direct Hochma is revealed there. But here we have SAG, which is entirely Hassadim, so what follows is that we have this term, the light of AB SAG, where the entirety of the lights of Hochma and Hassadim are revealed. How can they appear, all these lights, Hochma and Hassadim? According to the law of bestowal, the law of equivalence of form. They can appear only to vessels, which are also corrected as AB and as SAG, SAG bestowing in order to bestow, and AB receiving in order to bestow. And that is what they thought in the MAN, that they can receive, that they can receive in order to bestow. What does it mean, they thought they can? How is that expressed? I think I can, I think I want, yes? How does it happen? It happens according to the Reshimot, the records. I have such records, and according to them, well, I examine them, and I perform a calculation. And with all that data, it becomes clear to me that I'm going to perform a correct action, a correct operation. And then this operation is called MAN. So, there cannot be MAN towards something that I'm unsure of, just a shout, like a baby, help. No, in spirituality, MAN is a very well calculated, very well examined, and a thought out thing. And so, when we say that in the world of Nekudim, a calculation was made, the calculation was right. They simply did not take into account, in this calculation, another element from here called YESHSUT. There's another part here, which wasn't part of their calculations. It's called the Rosh of Bina, which doesn't belong to them, doesn't apply to them. And therefore they shattered. This YESHHUT planned the shattering, which the lower one could not foresee, because in this YESHSUT there exist the vessels of the end of correction. It knows what vessels it must reach, and therefore it plans a way to get there. And the lower one itself cannot, before these vessels are revealed, it cannot want them or plan for them. These vessels of the end of correction, we also called it Leah, then it becomes, it comes in the true AHP of Bina. It's what Bina truly wants to bestow upon the lower one, but the lower one lacks the vessels. Yes.

Reader: We are in the text, “meaning light of Hochma”.

meaning light of Hochma, called light of Haya. This is considered a new light, which ZON of AK received from AB SAG and shone to the vessels of Nekudim, lowering the bottom Hey back to the Peh of each degree, and bringing the AHP of vessels and GAR of lights back to the degree.

M. Laitman: Meaning the light of Hochma and Bina, the light of AB SAG, when it reaches each and every Partzuf, it gives that Partzuf Gadlut, meaning it gives that Partzuf the power to receive with the intention to bestow. And according to that calculation, certainly the MAN that they elevated, by which they requested that force, that's what they wanted to happen. Their calculation, in what they felt, in how they felt that they want, they weren't mistaken in the calculation. They simply could not take into account the magnitude of their will to receive, which was concealed. It's like a person who thinks he can lift 100 kilograms, and he approaches it, and he makes his best effort, and he sees he can't even make it move a little. So how does it happen in spirituality? The upper one hides from the lower one the lower one's true vessels, and it discloses in the lower ones some of those vessels, but not all of them. So that the lower one won't be doubtful that, oh, maybe I'm miscalculating or anything to that effect. But the lower one knows, well, that's how the upper one deceives it. It knows that it doesn't have any more vessels than what is actually revealed to him, and he made sure that he truly wants all these vessels to be in order to bestow, because he has the lack for it, and he has the power to achieve it.

Thus, this light moves the vessels of AHP and elevates them from the lower degree,

M. Laitman: The light of AB SAG that is.

connecting them to the upper one, as in the beginning. This is the meaning of the Nekudot that move the Otiot.

M. Laitman: So the lights that come from above allow the vessels of reception to connect to the vessels of bestowal, and all these vessels, bestowal and reception, are merely the will to receive. But the vessels of bestowal have a little screen with their little desire, and the vessels of reception have a great big screen according to their big desire. And now when both received Masachim, screens, they connect together into a single Partzuf , a single operation of bestowal. So what now happens is that in the entirety of the Partzuf rather, all its vessels, we have one shared screen, a shared action, a common goal for all those vessels.

Reader: Friends, we will now move to a live lesson with Rav, and before that we'll sing a song.
