1. The world behaves only in two colors, white and red, Hassadim and Hochma of the left, which come from the side of the woman who is found to be wise-hearted, as it is written, “And every wise-hearted woman spun with her hands, and they brought what they had spun, the azure and the purple.” They bring the azure and the purple, the colors included within colors, for the colors are primarily two: white and red. The azure and purple colors are included in these two colors.
2. It is written, “She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands.” Wool is right, Rachamim [mercy]; flax is left, and judgment. It is written, “spun with her hands,” spun in judgment, spun in mercy, when the right and the left are incorporated in one another and the judgments in the left are sweetened with the Rachamim on the right. Why is she called “woman,” which is a flame of fire? It is because she consists of judgment and mercy. This is why she is called Isha [woman] with the letters of Esh [fire]-Hey [the letter symbolizing the Creator]. Fire is judgment; Hey is Rachamim.
3. Any woman is called “judgment” since their root is from the left line until she tastes the taste of mercy, when she marries a man. The root of the male is from the right line, Hesed and Rachamim. The white in the newborn, the bones, Rachamim, comes from the side of the man. The red in the newborn, the flesh and the red tendons, judgment, comes from the side of the woman. When a woman tastes from the white, when she marries a man, the white is more important to her although her root is red.
4. Why are women from the rest of the nations, who are familiar to intercourse, forbidden? It is because there is right, Hesed, and there is left, judgment, which are Israel, and the rest of the nations. Also, the Garden of Eden is on the right, and Hell is on the left. This world is on the left, and the next world is on the right. Israel correspond to the Rachamim in the right, and the rest of the nations correspond to the judgment in the left.
When A woman who tasted the taste of Rachamim marries with Israel, the Rachamim prevail over the judgment and she becomes Rachamim. A woman who tasted the taste of judgment, who marries a foreigner, judgment, judgment adheres to judgment, the judgment in the woman adheres to the judgment in the foreigner. It is said about them, “And the dogs are ravenous; they are never satisfied.”
5. It is written, “A woman who has intercourse with a foreigner is tied to him like a dog.” As a dog is strong in its insolent spirit, so is one who marries a foreigner. When judgment adheres to judgment, she is the most insolent.
It is written about one who has intercourse with Israel, “And you, who adhere to the Lord your God, are alive every one of you this day,” since the soul of Israel comes from the spirit of the living God, as it is written, “For the spirit would grow faint before Me.” “Before Me,” before the Shechina [Divinity], ZA, who is called “the living God.” For this reason, a virgin woman who did not adhere to the harsh judgment of the rest of the nations, and adhered to Israel, to Rachamim, the Rachamim prevail and she is corrected from the judgment in her.
6. It is written, “I said, ‘Hesed [mercy/grace] will be built forever.’” Hesed is one of the upper Sefirot of the king, the top Sefira from the ZAT. The Creator called the soul of Israel “Hesed” on condition that the Hesed will be built and the Hesed will never end. This is implied from the words “will be built,” concerning the Hesed that will be built.
This is why we learn that one who eliminates Hesed from the world will be eliminated from the next world. For this reason, it is written, “The wife of the dead man shall not be married outside [the family],” to do Hesed [act of kindness] with the dead, and it becomes a construction, as it is written, “Hesed will be built forever.”
