The UN Climate Report concluded that extreme weather conditions will only get worse. A proposal to treat this situation is to start imposing very heavy fines on industries that pollute the planet. According to a kabbalist’s viewpoint, however, imposing heavy fines on high-polluting industries will not improve the ecological situation. All that can save us is positive mutual connection. Our connection has the potential to reach compatibility and balance with the upper force of nature, which is entirely good and benevolent. If nature is like our mirror, and the way we treat each other corresponds to how nature treats us, then why don't we see that? If we were to see that, then we would be as machines or robots, acting out of necessity. Nature’s plan for us is to reach balance and harmony with nature out of our own free choice. Actualizing such free choice is what makes us human beings in the fullest sense of the term. That is, the word for “human” in Hebrew (“Adam”) stems from the phrase “similar to the most high” (“Adameh le Elyon”), so becoming human means achieving similarity with the Creator. Therefore, we would be wiser to shift our focus to implement nature’s quality of love and bestowal in our relations, because by reaching balance with nature at the human level, the ecology and all the other levels of nature will relate
