Lesson 4 "Giving Thanks to the Creator"
1. Rav’s Introduction: (01:11) All right, I am happy once more to be in the lesson connected with you and as much as possible we will try even more to unite and connect and come closer to one another, ‘as one man in one heart.’ To make of ourselves such a group that it will be comfortable, nice, good and beloved and for the Creator to constantly enter and be amongst us and that we will feel His presence between us as well. So we will start. Please if you want to ask please bring your questions and we will advance.

2. R. (03:36) Of course we want to reveal the Creator, for Him to be revealed already now in each and every one of us and between us; for Him to fill the whole world because it's truly His place and He's there, just for Him to be revealed to us. What we need is just to increase the illumination and to do so we can actually through our desire, our presence, our inclination towards being closer to one another give praise and gratitude to the Creator to the extent in which He comes closer to us. This is all expressed through the importance of the revelation of the Creator in the created being, to the extent in which we await and appreciate Him as truly being able to come close to us and being felt between us. We will try. Think about this and try to be in this.
3. S. (05:11) How to be grateful to the Creator if I feel myself as the lowliest person there is. How can we attain it? I can't ask the Creator for this from the state of being a rag. How can you turn to the Creator?
R. Look, precisely that way we turn to the Creator. We want to show Him that we want Him to come closer to us in the connection with us, it's the best possible thing that we can do and of course this is how the Creator comes closer to us. I hope that many people identify with you are connected to you and we all together feel the hearts that are together in one heart. Thank you with what you feel and we will continue.
S. From this lowly state how will one awaken to the Creator? When I see the friends that are so great and they have already attained this wholeness. affection. What should I ask of Him if the friends are already in the state of wholeness?
R. I think that you are simply impressed by the fact that many people are conveying to you their feelings, their hearts and you feel this way and now it appears to us in such a way. I am very happy that we have such an explosion of feelings towards meeting with the Creator. Thank you and we will continue.
S. Why is the Creator passing the feelings to me so I feel myself so lowly?
R. It's to everyone and not just to you, it's to each of us in different times, different states. Where we feel the nearing of the Creator in such a way we have to thank him greatly for what he's doing with us and the way He awakens such feelings in us and thank you for expressing them. Thank-you very much.
4. S. (08:49) In conventions like this where we’re feeling so many strong things, how do we not lie to ourselves and make ourselves think that we are fully connected with the friends? Even while we’re feeling these powerful things, how do we continue to reveal the evil between us so we can keep correcting it rather than trick ourselves into thinking we’re there already?
R. We are not always capable to do so. I know on myself that more than once I would also break out and cry again in all kinds of prayers. It's good, it's good. First of all, the Creator understands what’s going on with a person more than a person himself does and it's good that we can sometimes also disclose to Him what’s happening in us. Once again I thank our friend that disclosed his heart to us, shared it with us and with the Creator.
5. S. (10:24) It’s written that the degree of the importance of the matter in it he will be rewarded with illumination. What is that importance?
R. That's the topic of our lesson. That specifically in the measure of importance in the heart of a person as he comes closer to the Creator, to the degree of importance that he has a person starts to reveal his heart and to feel he’s coming close to the Creator. Let's hope that we’re starting the lesson correctly and that we have come to the right state.
S. The importance is something that we built between us, the importance of the Creator?
R. Yes but in each of us we feel what He’s giving. A person alone cannot calibrate himself, aim himself to certain feelings but rather that which the Creator puts in his heart is what he feels.
S. The importance is something that we build by ourselves or something that the Creator illuminates for us?
R. In practice, that's what the Creator does.
S. Why does it say that the degree of importance that one pictures for oneself?
R. To begin with, that's how a person aims himself but actually it’s all under the influence of the Creator, the actions of the Creator. It all happens according to the action of the Creator.
6. S. (12:27) Why in the wisdom of Kabbalah is gratitude also called prayer?
R. Any feeling from the heart is always aimed to the Creator. Even if we are not exactly aiming our heart towards the Creator and we’re not building in Him what we’re about to give it is still a prayer to the Creator and we need to take that into account. So every desire, feeling, emotion that’s in the heart of a person is called prayer and is always aimed to the Creator. There is None Else Besides Him, who can feel what we feel, the one who can feel what we feel and want.
7. S. (13:30) First of all, we want to thank the Creator for such an amazing congress and this connection for you. We want the Creator to hear and I think the friends in the world Kli are thinking the same thing. We are letting go of everything we think that we are running and we are handing over the control to the Creator and we want Him to place all the friends in connection and to reward you and to give Him contentment. Each time that we have a goal in the ten, like reading the writings of Rabash or making it on time to the lesson, we reveal hardships or difficulties in the connection. How can we improve the connection in the ten?
R. It all depends on us, it doesn't depend on the Creator. We need to try and come closer to one another to be as one man in one heart. If so we should have the feeling that we are truly together in one heart. And this heart we present like this, it's like we’re serving it to Him this way. That's what we need to do.
8. S. (15:27) How can we express our gratitude to the Creator if every time we turn to the Creator we feel more suffering and disturbances?
R. I don't think that's how it happens. These are constant scrutinies that we go through so we feel in them sharp feelings, that's right. But we need to go through that stage and we then we will start to feel how in the connection between us, specifically in the connection between us when we are all incorporated together in one heart, even on the first degree of connection between us in one heart, we already start to feel how good it is. How this raises us up to the extent in which it raises us above all the disturbances and sufferings. Okay?
9. S. (17:05) This Congress demanded a great deal of effort from the friends, men and women and there’s a feeling that we’re facing a wall. He brings us closer, He pushes us back, He brings us closer, He pushes us back. This desire, it kills the will to receive seemingly. There's a feeling that this wall is becoming more and more transparent. We are standing next to the wall and now what to do? Where are we teacher? How to break through the wall finally?
R. We need to, we need to break and breach that which wraps our hearts and doesn't allow them to connect as one heart. That membrane, that crust needs to be broken and I think we will do this. We already feel that this is what stands before us and we must do it.

10. S. (18:42) I want to know why in some of the moments it becomes very difficult to ask and I even feel ashamed. Why does it happen to me?
R. Because it’s truly so, because altogether you want to attain something that you don't have. You want to correct and improve something in you and therefore you have that feeling of shame. It's actually good. Prior to corrections a person feels such..
11. S. (19:37) How simultaneously with the feeling of the greatness of the Creator to also feel and to hold on with spiritual fear the heart of each and every friend? For example now, a friend was asking from Germany, we all felt him. How to feel the heart of each and every friend like that and the greatness of the Creator?
R. Well we need to meet once a week, all of us more or less and to raise our common prayer, our common request to the Creator and then we will succeed. We are already standing on the boundary between our world and the feeling of the Creator.
12. S. (20:44) After yesterday and this morning’s lesson it's like we are examining an elephant using a magnifying glass. We see one piece here and another piece there. How to rise above and see this elephant, the Creator, in its entirety as one picture? How to rise in faith above reason in order to see the complete picture? How to feel it?
R. It's not a problem but for that we need to connect our feelings so that we will all feel the Creator and then we won't have problems whatsoever. What we need to prepare is the common feeling between us, that’s it.
S. So what we have now, the meetings in Latvia, Israel and all over the world, these are the tiny parts that we have to connect together?
R. Yes, of course yes, that's how it will be also. Because we all originally came from the source of one Adam HaRishon and that's what we have to go back to, in which we are all connected to one whole.
S. Let's ask the Creator to connect these parts together.
R. I hear your words and even the tears from within, a very good request. Thank you.
13. S. (22:59) How can we turn spirituality into the most important thing in life? How to hold on to the importance of spirituality above everything else?
R. This is possible only in accordance with the importance that we attribute to what we do towards the Creator and what He does for us. As much as we come closer to one another that way we also will feel close to the Creator and the Creator to us. And in that place we will all connect together.
14. S. (24:10) How can we hold onto the greatness and importance of the Creator and the gratitude for everything that we’re getting in our ten permanently? How to maintain it in the ten permanently?
R. Only according to the rule one will help his friend only, through that.
15. S. (24:58) How can we overcome the egos that comes after the gratitude?
R. So with that gratitude, with that feeling, with that attitude towards the Creator we will also be able to overcome our egos, we will be able to overcome. Because after we are already on the path, on this trail, it will be easier on these tracks.
16. S. (25:47) Thank you for this beautiful congress. The question: Every time there is a Congress such forces operate through us that allow us to make tremendous efforts. We fly, we sail, we make it to the congress. Afterwards we see that these efforts, this connection we want to do it every day, all day long, we want to do it 24/7 but it doesn't happen this way. Why does it happen like that?
R. We will as fast as possible go through these states and move to new states, new states. And for us to have advancement from this and not for us to stop because we reached some finish line and we have nowhere to go from there. On the contrary, from that finish line, from the end of the convention we have to continue the new path, only in such a way. And we will advance.
17. S. (27:19) We want to take this opportunity in this final lesson on gratitude and I don't think we can express a greater gratitude. We came here as a group of friends, men and women from Israel, from Petach Tikva and other groups in Israel and are received here with such warmth that it’s indescribable. The yearning, such intensity and such power, the first time you can see the difference between quantity and quality. A group that is not great quantitatively but is huge qualitatively you cannot imagine the connection, the warmth, how this culture of love is an inseparable part of what they are giving and yearning for the Creator. We truly wish to thank the Creator, the group, the World Kli for this great gift that we got by coming here. Some of us came here seemingly accidentally even though they bought a ticket here, they are moved to tears. We want to thank you and this tremendous group. L’Chaim, thank you.
R. L’Chaim. I'm very happy that you’re feeling very good there. I know the Azerbaijan group, I’ve been there several times and I'm certainly happy that you are feeling that goodness that’s over there.
18. S. (29:15) There are some questions that I'm afraid to ask or I’m ashamed to ask, especially when I see groups from MAK asking questions and getting answers to my questions. Is this the principle that we’re learning from one another?
R. Of course, of course. The most important things we learn from one another, from the friends.
S. Thank you now I got it. If I may add on Passover I was ashamed to tell you, the friends told you, but now I want to say that I really love you. Thank you, thank you for this path, for the opening of the heart, for the guidance, I love you. Lots of health, spiritual and corporeal.
R. Thank you.
19. S. (30:43) Can our gratitude to the Creator relate to what has not yet come but where we are heading together?
R. Yes, both what we have been through, what we are going through right now, and what we will go through in the future, that we hope to get through. Gratitude can't cover all times, the entire path, however you want it, the Creator is above time and He feels and He receives the prayer in all directions from us.
20. S. (31:59) The Conventions intensify the force of connection between us, we feel like they inflated a balloon within us and a feeling that the evil inclination has made room for itself, what should we do so that this balloon that we have inflated will not explode?
R. To hold together, all of us to connect and to hold them. and you’ll see how prepared you are to feel the Creator.
S. Why don't we know how to thank the Creator?
R. The correct, the suitable feelings towards Him didn't appear in us yet but they need to appear in us, they need to appear in us.
21. S. (33:34) When we are all together, connected, and everything is okay but when you remain alone with yourself, your pride begins to grow, meaning on one hand, it turns out that the Creator and pride cannot be together simultaneously. On the other hand it is sent to us by the Creator, so do we need to battle, fight this pride, what can we do?
R. Of course to fight, to fight until you destroy it.
S. How do we battle it?
R. Don't let it breakthrough, raise its head, that's first of all.
22. S. (34:32) What's the difference between mechanical and true, honest gratitude?
R. In the feeling, feeling the opening of the heart.
S. How to rise each time above this mechanical, technical thanks to a truly heartfelt sincere one?
R. This is something that we have to do together, to embrace one another, to help one another, only in a common action.
23. S. (35:31) We imagine that it is good to unite our hearts into one but why is it always so painful to break those shells around our heart, why is it so hard to come closer to one another?
R. I break the shell, by that I rise above this world to the spiritual world, to the upper world, this is the main work that I have to do that is why it is so difficult.
24. S. (36:22) From here we want to thank, I want to thank, for all the opportunities that we were given, that the Creator gave us to feel this power, to feel that there are no barriers, that it is possible and for the first time I personally felt that there are no differences. The difference remained outside, I don't know where but they’re here and there but they remained outside, and that's a feeling that caused new impressions. I just want to be thankful but I have a question: How do we continue with this force that was created that united us, how can the whole Kli continue with this because I feel like the whole Kli has come and attained this connection. How do we continue from there, and to thank you again, I feel something that I want to pass from the students. I love you very much and I am trembling, and so thank you I’m new but you are in my heart, I am shaking, thank you.
R. I truly feel it, I am happy, thank you for such a feeling for me. We need to continue, the Congress is going to be over soon and we are going to continue our studies. We are going to have many more gatherings and Congresses, even several planned for this year, for next year. And we will be happy to see you participating and that's how we will advance, and you will feel from one lesson to the next, from one Congress to the next, how you are truly establishing the great big spiritual vessel in which the Creator is revealed to all of us.
25. S. (39:04) Maybe at this opportunity we should say that after we've installed the Rabash articles on the topic of Prayer, that’s what the whole Convention is summarizing is a period of time. From tomorrow morning we will continue to read the articles of Rabash and we will begin a series of the Social Articles of Rabash. We will start with the first one, Purpose of Society One, and we'll follow Rabash, how to connect between us even more in the ten, in the group, in the whole world Kli.
R. Good, okay.
26. S. (39:43) Good day, good day friends and all around the world, during this convention I received an impression and a new feeling, nevertheless, these physical gatherings are very important. When you come and meet with the friends, you look at a friend and you see in his eyes, love comes and it evokes a response in the heart, certain love towards a friend, you feel this common connection is common. And I didn’t meet any friend here that doesn't have that spark, that illumination of love in his eyes, and I think it's something, a feeling that is between all the friends around the world. And as a response something warm is born in me towards the Creator, this feeling of gratitude for bringing us together and it could be that this is the Prayer of Gratitude towards the Creator?
R. Yes, that's how it is and I'm very happy to hear from you, you're a beautiful group, a wonderful group and the fact that you've gathered together, it's a strong, powerful privilege, I'm very happy, I believe seriously in your spiritual future.
27. S. (41:34) Request of how to learn how to open the heart towards the friends and the Creator without conditions, without borders?
R. Add any conditions, any preconditions, simply open yourself in order to assemble everyone in your heart and raise it to the Creator, this intention, this feeling, this action is what you need to have.
28. S. (42:17) I see this Bnei Baruch group as an embryo, that the Creator is looking after us and the prayer of Many to give thanks to the Creator for looking after us, like developing an embryo, so we will be developing. At what stage are we actually passing into the spiritual world?
R. When we can connect together in one group, not all of us together but in a small group, in a ten, whoever you are. If you connect together it will already be the condition for rising to the next degree.
S. But Rav, I think we are connected, it's only up to the Creator to give us life, you know, to give us strength, mercy?
R. No, it depends only on you, it's only on you, your plea, your demand, your request from the Creator, the Creator doesn't hold you back; He's expecting eagerly to be able to raise you to this first spiritual degree.
29. S. (44:07) Is gratitude also an action above reason that has the power to bring us to the middle line in all the ascents and descents we have?
R. Yes.
30. S. (44:39) First of all, I want to thank the Creator for inviting and allowing us to learn how to pray, and then thank you Creator for your strength and steadfastness, Rav, to pull us through. This is the first time that we were allowed to pray for other people, as if the gates were opened for prayer, and does it mean that we have been rewarded with the quality of the Creator in this ability to pray for others for the first time in our lives? As if a stony heart has been broken into a million pieces, as many pieces as there are faces on the screen and in the whole world.
R. Thank you.
31. S. (46:22) We're not managing to be in gratitude because we feel the weight of annulment, how can we work in that duality and to help one another?
R. By canceling our ego, we wish to connect with one another and in the feeling of connection we, with one another, we hope to reveal the Creator, that is the action that we need to try and perform; if we succeed, the Creator is revealed.
32. S. (47:24) Thank you Rav, the opportunity for the connection and gratitude that we feel but the question we are scrutinizing is how can we really break free from our comfort tens especially during the Congresses, I don't know if that's understood. Most people feel happy in our original tens and a little bit hesitant to intermingle with one another, maybe it's too early for now. L’chaim, thank you.
R. It might be a bit too early but we must be drawn forward and we’ll succeed but I have a few more groups, I have to ask, otherwise it will be nice.
33. S. (48:58) If we ask for mercy is it the same as we're asking for correction?
R. Yes, certainly, that's the correction, we ask for the Creator to shine on us with His light and with His light we advance towards the end of Correction, each time, stage after stage, degree after degree.
34. S. (49:43) I want to say great thanks to you for my life being filled with meaning, I thank the Creator for the opportunity to be here and to be part of this society, it's gratitude for my whole group! This gives us great support in life and fills our life with meaning and I wanted to ask: Before the Convention we really connected in the preparation, we felt such a great connection and this great prayer between us. We started to read the articles of Rabash and there was a part there about fear, the fear of missing the opportunity. Fear is a very powerful, internal feeling, if I felt in me that fear that I won't bring contentment to the Creator is this a sign to the fact that we are advanced to the connection?
R. Yes, that's very true.
35. S. (51:16) The state in each Convention is such that we truly want to give our hearts, whether it's stony or not, to simply give it and melt, dissolve into the group, how to hold on to that feeling?
R. Only in the connection with the friends, connection with the friends and the group, there's no other way.
36. S. (51:55) We are trying in all kinds of ways to come to the right prayer from Lo Lishma to Lishma until we come to a prayer as one man in one heart’; on the way there, how can we identify in each prayer that point that, God forbid, will not bring forth ruin?
R. If we are yearning for the connection between us then we protect it from falling into ruin.

37. S. (54:07) Yesterday, you said that we need to develop more sensitivity to feel spirituality, it is now felt, we feel so much love and gratitude and joy, what else can we add into this Gathering, into this Convention in order to come to the goal that we yearn towards?
R. Only forward, you already heard all the advice, you just need to actualize them.
38. S. (55:00) There's the impression that we will never be able to nullify before the Creator ,at the same time He does everything, so how to pray correctly in such a state?
R. Just continue, try to annul towards the Creator, there's nothing else, there's nothing else, and we’ll succeed.

39. S. (57:11) Do we need to thank everything that the Creator gives us on the corporeal plane, also diseases or do we need to only care, to thank Him for our spiritual advancement and to get accustomed to live on that level?
R. We don't need to get used to anything except for yearning to the Creator, constantly be aimed to Him, and arise to be as close to as possible to Him, that's it now.
40. S. (58:05) Something amazing is happening right now, very powerful connection, also in the feeling, also in the intellect, I have a great pain. We've been working in the ten for a long time and each time I come to the Convention I say, “now I will pass to my ten what I felt” and I can't manage to do so. I really want my friends to advance, I really want them, even though they're not here that they will feel that?
R. That's impossible, that is impossible, don't try to give anything to others, it'll only be worse, try to keep everything within, inside of you. And later to disseminate it only to those who are willing to listen but only in small portions, you are receiving your great light and you need to gradually, in small portions, to deliver it to others
S. If possible another question please, this is the second day that I'm hearing that we need to raise everything to the Creator, raise everyone to the Creator, what does that mean, the prayer is it thought, is it feeling, is it my attitude towards each and everyone?
R. That's first of all a prayer, a request to the Creator that He will bring us closer to Him emotionally, it’s felt, I guess you've not been studying with us for a long time, start studying methodically and they'll explain everything to you.
41. S. (01:00:15) In relation to the previous question a little, how to know in what moment I must take outside of the ten, the honor, consideration and love that causes me other things in the connection with the friends, how do I get to the point where I am ready to love everyone unconditionally?
R. You can't check that, only you can do it, therefore open your heart to the friends and you'll see to the extent that you'll relate to the friend to that extent you'll relate to the Creator and not more than that. To the extent that you will love the friends, to that extent you love the Creator that's why it's written, “From love of the created beings, to love of the Creator”.
S. Thank you, Rav, for the huge example that you give with your love, thank you very much to all the friends at Bnei Baruch, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
42. S. (01:02:06) The Convention was amazing and we feel that it's mainly because throughout the world there were many gatherings, like mini congresses, and we learn together and we revealed what we revealed. In the beginning of the lesson you said that we need to continue in such gatherings once a week and I wanted to learn specifically what you meant, you mean physical gatherings? Then how can we do it because after Corona we've all spread out, we don't have physical centers, I don't know if it's even realistic, so maybe please explain this format that you?
R. I myself don't know, I only know one thing, that of course there's a difference between how we gathered before Covid and how we're gathering now, there's a difference. But still these mutual events, we need to bring them back, we need to do them; hopefully, you'll think about it and try and realize it to an extent.
S. Thank you, it's simply an event that just knocks you off your feet, we’ve all gathered around the world to one sensation, a common connection, there's just no words, thank you so much!
43. S. (01:04:04) The Congress is very strong and the topic, this lesson of gratitude, and that excerpt that talks about how gratitude draws light from the Creator, but there are friends who when we summarize lessons in the Congress they're asking for help, they're truly in a state that is needed help because they get so much rejection to the extent of hate, what is this state in this Congress.
R. This is a natural state where a person hasn't yet entered the spiritual relationships, spiritual sensations, and then he has a very, very strong rejection and hatred towards them but it's all fine; love and hatred are in fact two sides of the same feeling.
44. S. (01:05:22) If the intention is my conscious choice between good and bad, how can we do a Mitzva, a commandment, without an intention?
R. You cannot do a Mitzva, commandment, without an intention, only with the intention to connect, come closer, the closeness of love and so on, otherwise it's just empty words.
45. S. (01:06:15) What is the quality of mercy, how is this quality revealed in the connection between us?
R. The quality of mercy is revealed in the connection between us when we are looking only at the good things that are in the friends and we skip over the bad things.
46. S. (01:07:10) In order to get closer to the Creator we have to be in gratitude towards Him so is it a mistake to exit the current state and request the next state?
R. No, it has to be this way otherwise how do we advance? We need to rise above the current state and from it, rise to the next state.
47. S. (01:07:47) Yesterday, we succeeded in reaching this awareness of unity and today we really want to pass it on to a sensation, to emotion, can you give us some advice?
R. To open the hearts towards one another and connect as much as possible, and then you'll feel everything.
S. I have this sensation that we need to reach specifically love for the Creator, all the gratitude and everything we're doing. It's all still in some condition towards something, like towards our progress and all sorts of such things, and really can we reach unconditional love for the Creator?
R. We are gradually receiving from the Creator a microdose of the upper light, we're not yet able to receive the light in it's true form, and under the influence of this light we change and by that we transition gradually from an egoistic desire to an altruistic, one and soon we will find ourselves in it.
48. S. (01:09:37) I like to really express my gratitude because the words are insufficient and the gratitude in this that I belong to this family of Bnei Baruch, my heart is melting. My question is: What preparations do we need to make, what can we take with us from the Congress to advance from this sensation of the Congress to next lessons and the meetings with the tens?
R. Only inclination to connection, that's enough for us because within that connection the Creator will be revealed, so again inclination towards connection because in that connection the Creator is revealed, that's what we need.
49. S. (01:11:27) Yesterday at the Congress I felt that I have to pray, I connected with two friends and I didn't know about it, it was all inside and my thought; and when I prayed the friends said, “something's happening to them”, they felt what I was feeling, what was that?
R. Don't ask me, ask the Creator, ask the Creator otherwise you'll pause on me but if you continue with the Creator you'll continue advancing towards Him.
S. And when will you come to us?
R. Again, didn’t hear?
S. I'm asking Rav, when will you come visit us?
R. Maybe soon.
S. We are waiting so much and it’s not just my desire, it’s all of us, all the members!
R. Thank you.
50. S. (01:12:50) We're in gratitude and for this opportunity to ask, Rav, what's the difference between prayer, correction, and a whole prayer?
R. A true prayer includes in it gratitude on what the Creator did with us and it does not include a prayer for correction, but in a minimized way, because if we ask for correction this means that we are asking to correct ourselves and the gratitude is already the opposite.

51. S. (01:15:08) We have a few questions, first the women and then the men: In this Congress it's been revealed to us this huge sensation of gratitude, the question is do we need to take this sensation and then enlarge it every day or that we need to feel new sensations everyday?
R. Everyday we should have a new feeling in coming closer to the group, coming closer to the Creator, and in the spiritual ascent.
