Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah. #52

Reading items # 52 (00:14) “Now we can understand the content of the ten Sefirot of the Sof of the Partzuf from Tabur down..” twice

1. S. (02:25) So is there the light of Hassadim below the Tabur or isn’t there?

R. What is the light of Hassadim?

S. I don't know, I'm just asking because in the previous letter he wrote that below the Tabur there's no nothing because otherwise there would be a shattering of the lights. Now he’s writing that there's a light of Hassadim and even a little Hochma.

R. Yes, in order for the light of Hassadim to exist there has to be a small illumination of the light of Hochma.

S. Is it possible that below Tabur and below there is light of Hassadim and a little bit of Hochma?

R. Yes, it’s just don't think about what you've learned and you think you understood, just understand that if there's no light there is nothing. Even the will to receive in order to receive, the shells, it doesn't matter, you need to have something to give some life to give them the feeling of life that sustains them alive so there has to be light.

S. What is this form that it must not enter there but there's still a…

R. There is some illumination.

S. That he calls VAK without a Rosh?

R. Yes, yes and you give life to all of them.

2. S. (03:58) What is there light of Hochma for the end of the Partzuf? In what desire is it received?

R. The light of Hochma shines only in order to give life to the vessels, that even the shells to exist the light of Hochma has to bestow upon them to a certain extent, very small, it may be without any connection with the source but nonetheless it is there. We have to understand that the Creator holds all the parts of creation as much as we go opposite and it’s as if they are not connected to each other but with respect to the Creator no one is less than the other because all in all he needs all of them in order to give the conditions to all of the vessels for the complete correction. In the meantime there are many things that we will hear and they will sound it’s opposite to what we learned before, the rules, the conditions, however, bit by bit you will see how nonetheless these things are all closed down together.

3. S. (05:59) In the end of the Partzuf below Tabur and below is there a difference between the first point below Tabur until the end, the Sof, in this range?

R. Of course, of course there is a difference in the Sof of the Partzuf, there are ten Sefirot, three worlds, there are many things there.

S. When he writes below the Tabur there is an illumination but the item before he wrote that in the Sium there isn't, so is there a difference?

R. There is a difference in all this place from Tabur to the Sium of AK there is a difference. What are you talking about? But there are conditions that can be the lights of Hochma, later comes the shattering and it is all happening below Tabur, above Tabur we have nothing to do, only lights there. truly.

4. S. (07:31) What actions are there at the end of the Partzuf?

R. Actions at the end of the Partzuf, the Sof of the Partzuf are the actions that the Partzuf discovers it's boundaries and at what state under these conditions he is in and how from these limited states he can nonetheless bestow to the host.

S. What is the relation between the end of the Partzuf and action that he does at the end of the Partzuf for the next Partzuf that will come?

R. The Sof of the Partzuf is his Partzuf, what it does to the next Partzuf is something else. It may be that with respect to himself in the Sof of the Partzuf he is in darkness but for the next Partzuf as it acts it discovers itself filled with light with respect to the next Partzuf.

S. Meaning maybe there's some preparation that he does at the end of the Partzuf that will build in him the next Partzuf?

R. Yes, yes, because the Sof of his own Partzuf is the beginning of the next Partzuf.

5. S. (09:01) We read that there are many actions in the Rosh and in the Toch and most of the actions that we read about it’s from there, so from what you were saying there are the lights, our work, is in the place below the Tabur in the darkness.

R. No, below the Tabur don't say there is darkness. First of all below Tabur we have NHY of Galgalta, NHY de AK, then we have SAG, which all these vessels are vessels of bestowal. Only then we have additional vessels that are within them, within the vessels ofSAG the vessels of Galgalta.

S. What is the learning from Partzuf to Partzuf that you see from the Sof? What package, what information or charge that is new from Partzuf to Partzuf? It's not really elaborated here, it's not told about too many actions there, Masach rises from the Tabur to Rosh all kinds of… In the Toch there are many actions, many screens that change but below the Tabur there aren’t any actions that are broken down, explained.

R. Yes.

S. What do you learn from this area below the Sof?

R. In the Sof of the Partzuf we have many things to learn. Look, the end of Galgalta the Sof of Galgalta we have ten Sefirot of Sof, there you have 30 Sefirot of the three worlds, you have a Parsa there and there are many differences, many discernments. The entire wisdom of Kabbalah mainly is in the Sof of Galgalta.

S. This happens in the later stages of the Galgalta. It happens after the light goes down below the Tabur.

R. Yes, but there is where we are. The entire reality that exists upon which we are learning exists in the Sof of Galgalta.

S. This whole system below Tabur the Masachim go up and down?

R. That is only preparations for the lights to illuminate below in order to shake the vessels.

6. S. (11:53) When the Partzuf Galgalta is purified and then goes to the Partzuf of AB, the scrutiny in the Partzuf of AB, this is from what was after Galgalta, from what remained in the Sof after the Galgalta? This is the continuation of the scrutiny?

R. Well we can say this is so yes.

7. S. (12:35) He writes that the small illumination at the end of the Partzuf of Hochma is called VAK without a Rosh. What is that term? VAK without a Rosh, why is it called that?

R. VAK without a GAR, VAK without GAR, meaning only lights that may spread below the Tabur, lights that can extend in vessels of bestowal, that’s it.

S. It’s the light of what, of existence in the vessels because without it the vessels cannot exist?

R. You can say that too it depends on what we are talking about, yes.

S. Because later on we're seeing he writes a lot about it, VAK without a Rosh, meaning without the GAR but it's still hard to conceive what does it mean without GAR?

R. Without GAR without the first three lights.

S. These are the actual lights?

R. These are actual lights, yes.

8. S. (13:46) Question from the side of the Kli. The Kli itself is the will to receive and it feels the light of Hochma, pleasure, so when we feel the Hassadim the question is, this feeling of whatever it will be, Hassadim, it also needs to come with a bit of Hochma, so what is this feeling of the light of Hassadim?

R. You are asking about a feeling. A feeling of Hassadim is when you are in bestowal, Hassadim.

S. Why do I need to feel the wisdom and pleasure to feel Hassadim?

R. Without the light of Hochma you cannot feel anything, the light of Hochma is everything. It shakes the vessels, moves them, builds them, organizes them, whereas in the light of Hassadim you do not really have abilities even to sort the vessels out. That is why in the light of Hochma the light of Hochma is what is happening however, in the light of Hassadim it doesn't. The light of Hassadim it’s Hesed, in short that’s the way it is, try to understand it.

S. It sounds like Hassadim is like inclination of the heart, it’s emotional.

R. Ok, you can say that.

S. Why is this defined as light?

R. Why is it defined as light, because it gives life to the vessels nonetheless. To begin with the light of Hassadim wasn’t intended for the vessel at all; it is only the light of the correction of creation, the light of Hochma is the purpose of creation.

9. S. (16:15) The light of Hochma and Hassadim are they felt in all of the Sefirot because every Sefira can give a feeling of Hassadim and Hochma?

R. In every Sefira there's the light of Hochma and the light Hassadim, even if we say there is no light of Hassadim or there's no light of Hochma still it's just the way that we say it, actually it's impossible to have one without the other and also as if they don't exist.

S. If I say that the Sefirot are the discernments in the light so in every discernment I feel both Hassadim and Hochma in some form of relations?

R. Yes.

10. S. (17:18) There are questions about Hassadim. Do you need to do a Zivug to draw the light of Hassadim?

R. Of course, I must be ready for the reception of the light of Hassadim. I must be an equivalence of form with the source of the light of Hassadim the light of Hassadim is light, yes.

S. When is there a Zivug in the Rosh of Galgalta? There we understand why he receives it in the Partzuf because of the Reshimot and the Masach, Aviut, Kashiut, there isn't data there that defines what the light of Hassadim will be, in Galgalta, in what part. What connection is there between the Zivug of the Rosh of Galgalta and the light of Hassadim at the end of the Galgalta?

R. I didn’t understand.

S. Do you need a Zivug to receive the light of Hassadim and you said yes you need to. The Zivug of the Rosh of Galgalta, what data does it define that needs the light of Hassadim and what desire in Galgalta, what does it depend on?

R. There is no Zivug or coupling of the over the light of Hassadim.

S. There’s no Zivug?

R. No.

S. If the Kli does Tzimtzum then it immediately feels in this Kli light of Hassadim. Can you put it that way?

R. No.

S. What light is there in the world of Tzimtzum They can’t be available to the Kli without Hassadim or Hochma.

R. Why?

S. There's no livelihood there in the Kli without it.

R. That's a different question if there is or there isn’t light in you. Is there light there?

S. I’m not an example.

R. You truly aren’t an example but in short there's a vessel for the light of Hochma and there’s a vessel for the light of Hassadim and over each and every vessel there’s a matter of coupling by striking and you can't have the light of Hochma without the light of Hassadim and vice versa, that's called the shattering of the light, we will learn it.

S. Also is there a difference in the light of Hassadim of Galgalta and the light of Hassadim of AB or is it the same?

R. Of course every place is a different light of Hassadim?

S. What does it depend on, the type of light of Hassadim?

R. The coarseness, the coarseness of the vessel.

S. If we say that the Sof is the vessels without the opportunity to use in order to bestow, so what does it mean that the Aviut is …

R. It depends on what it restricts, how it restricts, there are big differences.

S. The reason for Tzimtzum is that the meaning?

R. Also the reason. What you don't understand is that to restrict the vessel is not simple, it depends what coarseness it has, from what light, what's the reason. There are many reasons for restrictions.

10. S. (21:04) Why does the first Tzimtzum dwell in the light of Hochma permanently and on the light of Hassadim the second restriction of NHY is alternating?

R. In the light we have no difference between the light of Hochma and the light of Hassadim. We always talk about the light with respect to the vessels, that's why if we have prohibition over the light of Hochma there's also prohibition over the light of Hassadim.

11. S. (22:00) What is a Sefira?

R. Sefira is from the word Illuminating. When the light of Hochma illuminates in the vessel in the will receive, of course it's according to the equivalence that depends on how much the will to receive wants to resemble the light with respect to the Creator, to that extent the light of Hochma can clothe on the Sefira, on the vessel, on the desire, and then between the two there is a mutual relation.

S. The word Sefira it means that it also receives the light and also returns light.

R. Suppose yes.

S. If we talk about ten Sefirot of Rosh and Toch it’s clear, the interaction is clear, but when you said the ten Sefirot of the Sof it means that also in the Sof in the last lowest Sefira there’s a light that enters and there's a light that returns.

R. Yes.

S. It means that there is a kind of Masach if there's returning light it means there’s a Masach.

R. Everywhere there is light and a screen.

S. Also in the Sof everything below the Tabur there are Masachim there are screens?

R. Otherwise how can you have any light there? How can you talk about some Sefirot?

S. Exactly. We usually relate the Masachim to the Rosh and the Toch but we never relate it to the Masachim of the Sof.

R. No, the restriction has to be in all of the Sefirot, Rosh, Toch, Sof, the screens have to be in the Rosh, Toch, and Sof and only this way does the Partzuf exists.

S. If there is a returning light in the Sof it's like all this mechanism what happens below the Tabur isn't clear because below the Tabur says you can't receive light.

R. Even below Tabur you can get light with corrections with in order to bestow, yes, there are three worlds Olimot and 30 Sefirot and Parsa and all the things exist in the Sof of the Galgalta. Don't see the Sof of the Galgalta as if it's a dead place. Through correction we may bring vessels and lights and organize bestowal towards the Creator in the worlds Beria Yetzira, and Assiya.

S. If I try to study without learning the continuation, only what we learned until now, we don't know what's going to happen afterwards in the worlds that evolved. Now, in the Galgalta are there Masachim?

R. Of course.

12. S. (25:34) The simple light that fulfills all of reality, that's where the Kli reveals the light of Hochma and Hassadim?

R. Before any response by the vessel it's called a simple light that fills the entire reality.

S. Now the Kli feels the light and according to its willingness of the screen it receives the light of Hassadim let's say, and the illumination of Ohr Hochma it’s as if he receives 70% of Hassadim and 30% of Hochma but really it's 100% Hochma only according to the feeling of the Kli it’s that way, 70%.

R. It's 100% of the upper light that's divided in the Kli in such a way.

13. S. (26:41) I see that we the students ask you in a chronological way, the way the article opens up, yet many times when you answer you see the system as if it exists all the time. We break a single point and we focus on it but your answers are whole, they are not chronological they are not by time. Why do we have the need to understand it according to the timeline and then it seems that we are missing many things?

R. There's no choice, no choice, that's how you learn.

S. I see. Like the scrutiny we just had with a friend these are questions that I have, and he's asking Galgalta did something and then below Tabur nothing happens but you see the general system, you're seeing that the whole life is below the Tabur and I suddenly identify how many collisions we have when we tried to contain this material because of this need to go step by step, so how do we cope with this?

R. Whatever is not done by mind is done by time. There's nothing that you can do and then comes the feeling, these are Ta’amin, flavors of all this, this is sweet this bitter and this is sour and lemony etc., etc.

14. S. (28:26) About the need of the light of Hassadim because I hear you say that the light of Hochma does all, so why do we need Hassadim if the Hochma does everything? So why do we need Hassadim mercy if Hochma does everything?

R. Because without light of Hassadim the created beings won’t exist. The Creator is the source of the light of Hochma and of the will to receive, they both come from the Creator directly and we need to talk about the light of Hassadim and the will to bestow.

S. Our entire work when we try to attain from below upwards is the work over Hassadim, we're going from bestowal.

R. Yes.

S. But from what I hear and what's written the light of Hochma is what makes the vessels, moves them, gives feeling to them, the light of Hochma does everything in reality.

R. Yes.

S. Where is this mechanism of the light of Hassadim?. Why do we need it if Hochma does everything?

R. If we hadn't had the clash with the Creator, the Tzimtzum, the shattering, the returning light, all kinds of things, if we didn't need corrections in order to identify with the Creator then we would have enough to be in the light of Hochma and that's it, then we were restricted, to an extent, and existed by the light of Hochma like still, vegetative, and animate, but if we want to be similar to the Creator then we have no choice. We have to be, we have to reach a state that we want to resemble the qualities of the Creator, the light of Hochma.

S. What's the role of the light of Hassadim in the system?

R. The role of light of Hassadim is to the extent that I want to bestow contentment upon the Creator I stabilize the light of Hassadim from myself to Him, “I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me”, He influences the light of Hochma I influence Him the light of Hassadim, that the light of Hochma can clothe in the light of Hassadim and by that can fulfill me.

S. The action of the light from the perspective of the created being to the Creator is always in Hassadim. Will it always be in Hassadim or also the light of Hochma comes out or is it only Hassadim?

R. From us?

S. From us only Hassadim and from the Creator?

R. Hochma.

S. How do we make the light because it turns out that we generate light by bringing that Hassadim.

R. We give a place for the light of Hochma to clothe in the light of Hassadim.

S. What is this vessel that turns Hochma into Hassadim?

R. The will to receive that wants to work with itself in order to bestow.

S. The mere desire changes the meaning of the light? What exactly makes this transition, inversion in the light of Hochma?

R. Our desire that I now want to use in order to bestow back upon the Creator is called the will to bestow.

15. S. (32:56) We say that there was a rejection of the screen of the light but in spirituality there is no physical movement, so where are all these actions between the light and vessel?

R. The Creator gave us an opportunity to work as the source of light towards Him, that we will become similar to Him to His actions towards us and that's what we're doing, by becoming in our work below the Tzimtzum the Masach and the returning light.

S. He's asking an addition, are these kinds of impressions of the vessels of the light?

R. Yes of course, it's like when you're sitting with the host you have the same feeling, you're not lying, you feel that the host is enjoying you and that He depends on you and that He's grateful to you for arriving from receiving for Him, that's the feeling of giving in a true form.

16. S. (34:16) What is the light of Hochma in the story of the host and guest?

R. The light of Hochma is abundance that the Creator wants to give to the creative beings. The light of Hassadim is the same attitude from the guest that wants to bring back the relations of the host towards him.

S. In the end they have to be equal?

R. Yes, of course that's called Dvekut, adhesion.

S. If in every Rosh, Toch, Sof, there are restrictions and screens, so what's the difference between the Tabur and the Sium?

R. The Tabur is where we need to find influences from above and the Sium is where the influence from above ends.

17. S. (35:18) Where is the ascent of the man if it happens first in the head where does the deficiency for this action come from

R. The raising of man takes place from below upwards from the created being towards the Creator they clothed one another with mutual bestowal.

18. S. (36:00) I'm not sure it's the best question so stop me if you like. The way he writes these things, there is no question before the actions. Is he reading it? I can't believe he's reading it. it's as if no one shares this feeling there's no question before anything is done.

R. Right right, it's a very practical science.

S. Yes, but it's a vessel of feeling the whole temperature of the place, the physics of it doesn't write anything about it he doesn't describe how it feels, something comes from the mouth to the belly and it comes back it says if nobody hears?

R. You are right but what can you do? How to start?

S. How can he curse the concealment?

R. That's exactly the concealment. That's why it's concealment.

S. But how can he stand before that directly? The judge in the lower world is more merciful than this creator. He says what, “you've lost your Hebrew, don't you know what's going on here?” 700 couplings while striking, all these...

R. Nothing you can do. Nothing you can do. I'm not the owner here.

S. Even as the teacher you can't do anything?

R. What can the teacher say? Just again and again repeatedly I tell you what’s happening until you begin to receive from above the agreement I understand, and then you will understand?

S. What's happening here is a vessel of feeling. Now he writes as if going up and going down but it's a vessel and things are done here?

R. Right, it's not just words you're right.

S. I don’t know, don’t you?

R. Yes, I am but what do you want me to say? What do you want me to do? That I am like a mouse in a wheel that I will be turning around I can't anymore.

S. It's as if he reads it and we don't feel the intensity, everything that's going on, you can't believe such a thing happens to someone!

R. Maybe you will read.

S. What do you mean?

R. Maybe you'll read instead of him.

S. I tried a few years ago and I let go.

R. Nothing you can do. What the mind doesn't do, time does.

S. This pressure that we feel in these actions, he's talking about actions and I'm impressed that the Creator is not lovey-dovey like we imagined Him. He didn’t ask anyone before he did it, so this feeling, is it really happening? Is this the right impression?

R. What they are writing is the correct impression. We just need to understand this impression, but correct.

19. S. (39:50) The way I understood it, the vacant space has to be filled. Where there is darkness in the first restriction, no light comes there. What is this desire that we don't know where it comes from? Why did the creator do such a thing? Where there is darkness in the first restriction and how can we reach it if no light comes there?

R. The light of Hassadim reaches everything.

S. But in the previous item he says that the light of Hassadim had to be completely separate from Malchut to remain as an empty space so there's at least an illumination.

R. It comes as returning light and the light of Hassadim and the illumination of light of Hochma, even the light of Hochma.

20. S. (41:00) Actually the Creator does seem like a teddy bear where he allows the vessel because he's not ready to receive, he's willing to turn part of the light of Hochma to the feeling of the light of Hassadim. It's like he gives the light of Hochma and we force Him to feel in it until he will give us the feeling that we bestow. That's not the intention of the Creator what he gave us the light of Hochma it turns out that it's as if we're forcing the light to give us the feeling that we bestow and he agrees to it even though it wasn't his intentions seemingly when he gave us the light by agreeing to our demand otherwise we won't get the light so in order to receive the light he's willing to give us the feeling that we're bestowing. Is this how it happens that the vessel forces the light given the feeling that he's bestowing?

R. There is something, yes but what to do, what is left for the Creator, in such a way he's still coming closer to us.

21. S. (43:00) Can we say that the demand for spirituality for the friends is what turns the light of Hochma to the light of Hassadim?

R. I don't really want to go into it to the extent that these are deep matters. what lights we awaken by changing our attitude between one another, and Hochma, Hassadim, GAR, the restrictions, you're right, there is something there.

22. S. (43:30) Can it be that the Creator created the system here that ultimately we say that my sons have defeated me? It’s as if the system becomes stronger than the one who built the system?

R. That's nice, yes.

S. It's as if in the world there is just an example I don't know if it's related but today we are talking about the artificial intelligence and all these systems of robots and it's as if there's the fear that we'll build a system that will become smarter than us and will kill us or run the world?

R. Yes.

S. It's as if the Creator created a system in which the created being will rule the system in the end?

R. Let's hope that there is some kind of plug there that we can unplug but in fact yes.

S. If we connect we get a control over the system and it's as if it's in our hands, the system?

R. To take the steering wheel from the Creator completely you cannot because you remain a matter of desire, and the Creator is above the desire, and according to the current data you can really imagine the state that you can become completely free. He wants you to reach a state that you are completely free from him. that we exist and all of reality alone and the Creator does not exist. and then you want to develop from your qualities because you acquired them you want to develop from them the same universe the same nature like the Creator did. this is actually called the Adam who is “similar” in Hebrew to The Creator but the point is is that you're completely free from him we can't imagine this even but we need to think that this is how it is.

S. His intention is for us to be like him?

R. Yes.

S. This means that we will eventually create something or make something of ourselves?

R. I think but I don't have any authority to say there are many things here but there isn't any proof for it or foundation. The Kabbalists didn't write about it or they did but we don’t see it but no matter what, we will see, we will see. Everything is ahead of us.

23. S. (47:20) The light of Hassadim that we try to build by bestowing to the Creator intending to bestow to the Creator what does it mean that the light of Hochma clothes on it?

R. Yes, the light of Hassadim is the clothing for the light of Hochma.

24. S. (47:47) How can we come out of this limited state, when the situation illuminates to us that's where we start? How can we shift to a state where we illuminate in this situation?

R. It’s done according to the extent of our adhesion to the Creator. That is called darkness shines as light, that we also become a source of light.

25. S. (48:40) We said that in the end of Malchut there is a small illumination and there is no place where to make a coupling, so what is awakening the Malchut to begin this elevation, how she is pulled?

R. By receiving an awakening from the light, from the Creator and then he understands that without her rising above he cannot receive anything from him.

26. S. (49:44) There was one vessel and light that filled the entire reality it wasn't just the vessel Hassadim and wisdom were together we were adhered to the Creator why because the Torah was given but we are not ready to receive it so what did the good Creator as opposed to some of the friends who think the Creator is not good he give us the friends he gave us the Torah he gave us Baal HaSulam and everything he built from above downward Baal HaSulam says start climbing then you will reach me and then I guess this is something we didn't think about it and this is thinking out at the box. Is what you said, is this the answer?

R. I don't think but I want to say one thing, if you have a question in one sentence then raise your hand and we will give you a chance but no more.

27. S. (51:10) The created being cannot clothe the light of Hassadim for Hochma, is that right that's why we only have to pray for the light of Hassadim?

R. Without the clothing of Hassadim we cannot work with the light of Hochma.

S. The concealment of the Creator is only the way he shows love to us?

R. Yes.

28. S. (52:00) The friend asked about when you say that he wants that we will completely be released and free from the Creator do you mean that being released from the evil inclination Creator or from himself?

R. I don't understand what you're saying.

28. S. (52:39) To continue the friend's question, can we really resemble the Creator or does he just give us the feeling or the illusion that we can resemble him to draw us to do what he desires?

R. We can resemble him in order to do his desire and adhesion to us.

S. What does that mean with adhesion to us?

R. That we show him that everything we do, we do it only to resemble to him and adhere to him.

29. S. (53:47) In the previous part you said that we should help each other rise in spirituality, how can we do that, how can we help each other to rise in spirituality?

R. We spoke about this all the time. hours and hours and hours. that one will help his friend to learn to connect to support one another to the ten. They come once every now and again and then ask a question that we've spoken about it for hours.

S. He's asking how can we make this commitment?

R. To commit, meaning that each one is committed to help the others not to forget about it and then we will remind one another that all in all we need to be connected.

30. S. (55:00) We get feedback from the tens especially through the Arvut system and we're sitting together in the same room. The question is should two different tens sit in one room or should every ten be in its own room.

R. I don't know what that means.

S. It's like two tens sitting around one table or should every ten be around?

R. In the same language?

S. Same language, for instance if it's like a ten from Netanya and a ten from Beersheva, there's room for each of them. Is it better they sit together or every ten should be together?

R. I don't think it's a problem for them to sit together, it will be easier to differentiate.

S. Meaning it's okay for two tens to decide that we're staying together in the lesson?

R. Yes, especially if they're partial tens.
