Reaching Lishma through Envy - Selected Excerpts from the Sources

1. Rav’s Introduction: We continue the same topic. Clearly we need to plow in it more and more to progress because actually there is no purpose for the wisdom of Kabbalah, for the study but to enter Lishma and to progress in it until we reach the true and complete Lishma, for her sake. This is how we continue. Lishma means our inclination to Lishma, how to reach it and to enter it, and we have to enter more and more with all kinds of articles and additional materials that we have in the wisdom of Kabbalah but actually this is our purpose. The whole world is in a state of in order to receive and we need to reach from the state of Lo Lishma and we have to reach Lo Lishma and from Lo Lishma we progress to Lishma. So these two states we have to see how to move through them or they move through us and how we progress in them, so let's go into the text.

Reading 1 (01:58) twice

2. S. (05:09) It seems like he is talking about the desire to receive great lights as opposed to small physical sparks. Is it not Lishma?

R. It is not Lo Lishma or Lishma, it has nothing to do with a small light or great light, it has to do with the person's intention. If the person wants to receive for himself it is Lo Lishma if he wants to bestow to the Creator it will be for Lishma, this is the difference.

S. The thing is that he seemingly try to escape or skip over the moment of Lo Lishma and yearn immediately for Lishma to complete bestowal and here it says that the person comes to Lishma to Lo Lishma and there is a fear that we cannot agree that first we have to go through Lo Lishma.

R. This is how you feel for now. These are all kinds of thoughts and emotions and soon you will go through them. It will be clear to you that the most important thing is that you have to scrutinize for whom you are doing something, for whose benefit.

S. Meaning I do not have to be ashamed of my nature?

R. Of course not who is ashamed of wanting for himself and being selfish? What do you mean? If it is not for somebody else's detriment why should we be ashamed? We are not ashamed of the nature the Creator created. We are working against this nature in order to reach the opposite nature.

3. S. (07:29) I did not understand it. How does the physical desires that he speaks of in the first part, how do they bring us to Lishma, how are they a foundation for the state of Lishma?

R. The thing is that the person tries to focus himself to in order to bestow and that all of his pleasure would be out of the fact that he is bestowing to others and the person cannot do that but he hears that this is actually the nature of the upper world and therefore he must turn to the Creator for help to perform the actions of bestowal and that together with that, that the out of that he will enjoy and through these three inclinations envy, lust and honor which is inside the desire to receive he can progress and this brings him out of this world into the upper world; envy, lust and honor.

S. So through envying the friend this is a selfish feeling so how can I go from that with this kind of envy to the other kind of envy?

R. This is something that you can never do this, it is the reforming light that does it for you, the upper light.

S. So envying the friends is helping by simply giving me the path so I have to keep going?

R. Yes, this is how it is called, that from Lo Lishma welcome to Lishma.

4. S. (10:06) The big desires mean desires for myself?

R. No, the great desires and the small desires means that according to that desire, the magnitude of the desire, and it is not that it is for myself or for the sake of others, it is already the intention. There is a desire and according to its intensity and there is the intention which is according to its direction.

5. S. (11:12) It says here that the person has to believe in all of his physical desires so either I cannot understand what we are talking about or what is this belief. Can you say that belief means to give importance to something? What is faith? Do I need to believe in all those physical desires? Why?

R. This is how it is written the person must believe that in all the corporeal lusts; eating, drinking and sleeping and the rest of the lusts, as well as the pleasure of learning external teachings and in Lishma we also have to believe in that control vengeance and all the others, so these lusts that he has, all of these physical lusts he knows about them, he does not need to believe in it, he sees that this is how it is.

S. The natural ones I somehow can understand; food, sex, family, here we do not have to believe in anything I do not understand the essence of faith may be in Hebrew it has a different meaning in Russian it does not work in this context, especially in the context of physical desires it speaks of vengeance that I have to believe in vengeance?

R. Of course, you have to believe that in all of these pleasures, the physical pleasures; eating, drinking, sleeping, the rest of the lusts, they have in them a certain spark of light, a certain spark of upper light which pulls you. This is why you are drawn to these actions and there this spark is called a tiny illumination, a tiny candle, a small candle, this is it. There is no more than that in there but we in order to receive a little bit of this light we invest our whole life into those lusts. However there is an additional great light that exists in what we called the Torah and Mitzvot and this is a much greater light than all the pleasure's, all the small lights that exist in the physical pleasures. We have to shift from enjoying the physical pleasures to the spiritual pleasures and there there are great lights and we can receive and enjoy them, however the difference is in the intention, that you have to replace your intention from in order to receive to in order to bestow. This change is considered that you are moving from Lo Lishma to Lishma.

S. I apologize but this concept of faith or belief, how to understand what it is in the work of the ten in that contour?

R. There is no faith or belief like you think, the word that you describe it with, in religion or in something else, it is simply that the person starts to see that it is so or it isn’t so. It is not as you are ascribing to this word faith or belief as he writes here, higher meaning seemingly as people think on the street, no, here it does not exist, this kind of a meaning.

6. S. (16:11) We are reading that the Klipot give the person a wake up call to enter Lishma, so the question is what holds the person from entering Kedusha?

R. Only that fact that he cannot shift to Lishma and this is because he cannot understand that the connection between everybody is what makes the light greater and then the light can already correct him.

7. S. (16:58) This power of envy, lust and honor to the friends can you make feel different so you do not suffer or you try to cancel the friend and then you lose the intensity of those forces so how to use those powers in a beneficial way?

R. So it can help us progress, why not? It can be not because I want to put down others but because I want to promote everybody, envy, lust and honor can bring the person out of this world, meaning it can actually help us to get out of in order to receive into in order to bestow. If I would not be envious of others I would not have any forces to progress, this is how I look at others and it seems to me that they are greater or more successful and then I also run after them. Also envy and also honor, we do not know this but these three components, these three dispositions are what pushing us forward. If not for them we would be like cats just sitting in the sun and that’s it.

S. The question is how to avoid, let's say there is a friend that I envy in something and my desire to receive wants to diminish what he's doing so I would not feel this suffering of envying him because it is unpleasant, so how to avoid this.

R. Why should we avoid this? If we can progress through it? Why do you want to get rid of a quality that the Creator created?

S. Not to get rid of it but my desire to receive when I see somebody do an action but let's say my desire to receive brings that friend down, ok he is like this and that so I do not feel envious, it is not conscious. Why is it good?

R. It is not good.

S. How can you not fall into the situation, so how to avoid it? I tell myself about the other friends he's doing this because he got the one two three and I am missing out of the envy, so how to not to fall into this state?

R. In each and every state you have to calculate that any quality that the Creator created in us it is necessary, we need it.

8. S. (20:08) What is the deposit of the great light?

R. You do not know what a deposit is?

S. I know what a deposit is but what is the aspect of the deposit of the great light, what does it give us?

R. For the time being we haven't reached out yet so this is why we do not know it.

9. S. (20:36) Specifically when the work would be in a spiritual state then of course it is better with those Kabbalists who do not have to think but most of us work in jobs that require thinking so how to work here, how to overcome that influence of the external environment that simply destroys you?

R. You have to be more connected to the friends, to the group and through that you will be disconnected from the external influence.

10. S. (21:52) How can lust take the person out of this world?

R. It shows the person how much he has emerged and how much it is against the spiritual goal.

S. What does it mean that physical lust weakens a person, how can it help us progress?

R. Because the person is drawn to the physical lusts; food, sex, family, money, honor, knowledge, it is not what we feel in this world it is much more because the more the person is progressing in spirituality he is in these lust he also has much more taste than ordinary people and he has to cope with it he has to cope with these lusts and here it is the matter of the struggle, the fight. How does he build his connection with spirituality and physical things? How much does he arrange himself in order to more and more disconnect from the physical lust in order to be associated with spiritual progress. This is through the connection with the group, what can I say here it is obvious through what.

S. The person is capable of dealing with those strong corporeal lusts?

R. No, the person is not capable but it comes through the Prayer, the request, the person is not capable of anything but the whole thing is that by this he becomes more and more attached to the Creator that he would help and save him even from the lowest, something that the person never thought that this will actually draw him and pull him and attach him to corporeality.

S. So when a strong desire comes from the lowly and despicable, what can we do? How to save himself?

R. Only to pray there is nothing else. It is written that from the day the temple was ruined all of the physical lusts were actually remained in those who work for the Creator, specifically those who yearn for spirituality they have along the way stronger physical temptations that ordinary people do not have.

S. So the desirable state is the Creator to save him from falling into these lusts?

R. This is not the desirable state, it is the necessary state because the person otherwise can not advance.

S. On the way to Lishma these desires become stronger.

R. Of course, one who is greater than his friend, his inclination, his desire is also greater.

11. S. (25:47) How can we agree to envy?

R. Whether you want it or not it comes and it conquers you and envy, lust and honor specifically these three components can bring the person out of the physical world into the spiritual world. When he goes and he overcomes them with the help of the Creator who helps the person, who delivers him, who teaches him how to overcome the envy, lust and honor, then the person can already rise to the spiritual degree.

S. Then the ego is erasinging the others when he is not willing to envy them?

R. The envy, lust and honor this is the ego itself.

S. Yes, but the ego disagrees to envy others because he does not let you progress because he erases to be envy.

R. This is for the time being but later on you will see that it is not this way. One is envious not even of the friends or his generation but the past generations and those who will be. Envy is limitless.

S. So how can I envy the friends, how can I come to that?

R. It is actually good if one is envious because it gives the person a lot of forces for progress and prayer there. if the person is not envious then through what can he progress?

S. This is my question. If you see that you cannot be envious of the friends, how do you make yourself envy them?

R. You have to connect with them more and then you'll see how much along with that envy also comes to you because when you move away from them then you do not feel envy, you do not feel them at all. Instead you simply do not appreciate them, you do not consider them so there are two states here; one state is that you do not appreciate them, you do not consider them because they are your friends they are close to you and we are all together, we are guys and we are friends, close to each other or they are far away from each other and then also I do not care about how I am with them. We have to be all the time in a feeling of connections more or less, more or less, and this is how we can intensify the connection between us.

12. S. (29:08) If I truly envy my friends, I truly friends from the other groups and in other groups how they advance; and then from this envy, from the fact that I cannot be like them, it simply weakens me, the works, how to advance then?

R. It happens but it passes but nevertheless we have to continue and advance. So please tell me, in this world there are many people who are wise: musicians, scientists and all kinds of athletes, people who are strong which cross the ocean, they fly to outer space, and it is not you. So what, so you do not want to live, no? You live your life and out of your life you also want to make it something special; in spirituality it is even more so because in spirituality there is room for everyone. Everyone has the root of the soul and each and every one has a place at the end of the path, so why should you despair here, that you are not like Rabbi Shimon? It is written that anyone can like Moses and at the end of correction, we will be so, like Moses. So I understand that there are such states like you are saying, that you cannot move because you’re hopeless because you do not have any strength. But it passes, it passes, and specifically, try to connect to the friends from the other side and you will see that you have sufficient forces and opportunities.

13. S. (31:27) I do not want to see the friends that I envy them, how to overcome such hate, such envy?

R. These are times we all have to go through, all of us, and there is nothing you can do here but whatever we feel, well we feel it, but besides that, it’s what we do and study and keep, that is something else. So I do not pay attention to what I feel, I do things that need to be done and bit by bit the feeling is replaced and a new feeling comes, and the friends that once far away come closer. I change, I begin to understand them in a different way and so on. The most important is not to let go but to continue, ‘anything but leave’, as it is written. And a few more months will pass and a few more months and you will see how everything changes.

14. S. (33:00) You’ve explained how envy and lust advance us spiritually, what about “honor”, how does “honor” advance us?

R. Well, we have many forms of honor: the honor, the glory of the Creator, myself, honor, the honor of the friends, the honor of the organization, all kinds of forms of honor that we value something, what is honor? That we respect something, we value, we appreciate the fact that we are in a system that speaks about the purpose of creation and that we are advancing toward that goal. And it is not that we want to be the first ones, that there are also others who are also advancing but rather that we truly want to understand and attain the purpose for which humanity was created and is living and advancing.

So in this, we have a feeling of honor, the feeling of the importance, the importance of our state, we have importance in our message that we want to bring it out to everyone, to reveal it to everyone so that the whole of mankind will know about this message and will follow it. This is the importance, the importance of the path, what am I living for? And if I reveal to people the purpose of their existence, I think that I have the importance, I have importance of my existence, in my life, and I am proud of this, that this is what I am doing. It is not that I demand for it some respect or some something else but this sustains me, it holds me, the fact that I feel my existence is for the purpose of humanity. And this is how each and every one is, there is no one who is more here or one is lesser than the other, we are all equal in this system.

15. S. (35:44) We discussed in the ten yesterday that the envy has two parts: that envy, like in the corporeal world, and a spiritual envy. Is there such a thing, something that separates, what separates in the goal, perhaps, that direction? In corporeality, there is one form of envy and in spirituality there is another.

R. The envy is the same envy but indeed under different conditions, yes, it is written that “author’s or counter’s envy increases wisdom”, Hochma. That if people who are great scholars, great thinkers, the envy they feel between them actually advances humanity, it is increasing wisdom, so envy is something that is good because through it the people advance. It stems from the will to receive, however it promotes everyone, if we would not feel envy we would not advance at all we would not advance at all. As it is, I looked at the others and I see something I do not have and it is all thanks to the envy that exists in our qualities.

16. S. (37:25) If I, in the moment, I want to come out towards the general public and pass our message, the message falls apart, it is blocked, I do not succeed in dissemination.

R. Because you have to feel that same message first, that it exists in you, you have to live it, you have to feel it inside, how much it is living inside of you in all kinds of different manners and corners. And then only after that when you feel it really well and you spend some time with it, only after that can you begin to disseminate because then people will understand that it is coming from you, and it is not some wisdom but from your heart, and this way you will succeed.

S. So this feeling that I already have this message inside of me, it is a phony feeling, I mean it means that I haven’t really digested this message yet.

R. Yes, so a little bit more, a little bit more and you will start to feel it inside of you and how it is working in you, how it is directing you and changing you. And then you will be able to bring it out and explain it to others, if at all, you will want to talk about it.

17. S. (39:26) The have in a group huge giant friend and thanks to my jealousy to him I progressed a lot in my study and in my presence in the lessons but today he took such a job that he cannot be present in the lessons so what can we do to bring him back to the group he listens to the lesson but only after but I would have liked him to be together with us in the letter.

R. You have to work on that I cannot enter into all of these conditions maybe he cannot find another job and this is a good job and he wanted it and bit by bit you have to show him that actually the purpose of life he is not going to achieve it through work all of our work in this work and together with this world for the person and the so there is nothing that we can do about it we have to think about how to work for the sake of a higher purpose.

S. He will hear it and I am sure it will help him to come back to us I also wanted to add yesterday you also said that the that one of the you said it to one of the women that you love her and very very jealous of this and we were thinking what can we do between Monday and Wednesday we will have a congress we will have it in an amazing place in Georgia and we are inviting you if you haven't decided where to go to during the congress we are inviting you to join

R. You know how much I love Georgia very much I am willing to fly there even now but if we can do it we are ready but let's read now.

Reading 2 (41:55) twice

18. R. (44:50) We hear many times here from our friends that they are dispared, tired, they don’t understand, they can't even reach anything, what kind of a change can come to them, by what. We forget about the light in the Torah. That through our study, our work as much as we invest in it there is a special force that we awaken and this force is what works and what takes us out of this word and into the upper world, Lo Lishma to Lishma, from in order to receive to in order to bestow, from the world of the created beings to the world of the Creator. This is what we forget.

So how do we come to it? By developing envy, lust and honor. And then there is a connection between us and we wish to resemble greater people, better people. We learn from Kabbalists and by that we awaken the reforming light. It advances us, it pulls us and then from Lo Lishma, meaning in order to receive, where we are right now in what we think and do we come to in order to bestow. How can that be? it’s against my nature I don’t even want it, if you ask me I don’t want it. But if I do what Kabbalists recommend then like it or not I awaken the inner force that exists in those actions. And this force pulls me toward Lishma, toward in order to bestow, from the force of Malchut to the force of Bina.

19. S. (47:21) You are establishing a special relationship with some friends, I don’t understand why. And then you honor someone who does not come to the lessons.

R. To whom? To whom do I give special attitude?

S. I don’t know but it’s a question from my friend.

R. So I give a special attitude to certain friends, yes? What's does he want to say about it? Why is it so? Perhaps there is something in them that attracts me or repels me, I don’t know how to say it. Those people typically help me enliven the lesson, give a more lively lesson. We have a few of these naggers here who always want to ask, always want to jump and it’s good that it helps me give the lesson in a more lively manner. That’s why I love them. Those people also help you as well. Relative to women who spoke today about a woman who spoke French, it’s in order to bring some joy to everyone and I like that she’s so sweet, African or British I don’t know. It shakes up the lesson I think, but if not then I’ll stop it.

20. S. (50:06) It is written that thanks to envy, lust and honor it is possible to change the lust and reach the degree of vegetative and the degree of the animate. How should we we understand that?

R. When we enter in order to bestow then we go through degrees Shoresh, Aleph, Bet, Gimel, Dalet, 0,1,2,3,4,5. We begin from the inanimate nature, what we call still then we go to vegetative, animate and speaking. These are the degrees we’re climbing through in resembling the Creator in order to bestow.

21. S. (50:59) He writes here that the through envy, lust and honor there is a possibility to change the inclinations of lust. What does it mean to change the inclinations of lust? Is it something that’s mutual and it only has some direction?

R. Instead of envy, I don’t erase the envy but I wish to be like him, even more than him. The Creator created this quality in the will to receive with a special intention that we would be able to advance and grow. Dogs, cats, no animal has envy, it only exists in man. Look at little children how each and everyone envies the other and he who is greater than his friend is even greater in his envy. You will see according to people who have a special qualities like painters, scientists or actors, all of them, all kinds, you see how much envy they possess. Envy as Baal HaSulam writes has no boundaries, no limits. I envy the Creator, I wish to be in His place. That’s the meaning of having no boundary for envy. He writes about it.

S. How to be envious of the Creator? What does that mean?

R. Time will come and you will see that you also envy Him. Why not? Return the children of Israel unto the Lord your God. That means there is a desire in us to reach the degree of the Creator. We cannot even imagine these things because we have no interest in it, like a little child who cannot be envious of what grownups do because he can’t understand it. But the more he grows up he wants to be in their place more and more. So will you reach a state where you wish to be in the place of the Creator. That’s the boundary of envy, it’s a very big thing.

22. S. (53:59) What to do with the fact that a question awakens in you, and time goes by and you forget the question, what to do? Because if you think about how not to forget the question then during those five minutes you cannot even hear the lesson?

R. That is true, and I ask you, please speak English, you speak English very well so speak English, it would be better understood.

23. S. (55:06) You answered, partially, the question of the friend, it is very easy to be envious of the friend, sometimes it is almost automatic, but how can we reach a state of envy, I mean to hate it’s easy, but in order to be envious do I have to raise a prayer, what should I do to reach envy?

R. I envy the friend, I see in him something that I do not have; if we will connect then I will have that same quality that I envy in him, you understand it? In our world if I wish to be like a great personality I need to maybe spend years before I get to his place, I need to break him down and move him out of the way and assume his place. In the spiritual world, it is not the case, it is enough for me to connect with him and then I share the same quality as his, you understand how great this is? So there is no boundary, there are no limits, no one can interrupt the others, if I connect with anybody you can think of in this world, I reach such states, I reach such jobs, such working places, yes, I have no problems, only to connect.

S. I understand what you're saying, however it does not exist in me, it is something that is good but it does not exist within me. What exists within me is this wickedness, this hatred, should I ask the Creator to make a change within me and increase the envy within me?

R. Of course you want your envy to be the kind that constructs you, I understand you, I know you for many years already. You need to ask of the Creator to give you an opportunity to connect the with people, with your friends, believe me with your eyes shut that whatever your friends have in them, this is the only thing that you are missing to reach the end of correction, nothing besides that. If you can reach a state that you connect with them then it is guaranteed that you will be in the end of correction.

24. S. (58:31) In Lo Lishma, a person is in rewards and punishment and in Lishma is he under Providence?

R. In Lo Lishma, we are in reward and punishment and in Lishma we are not in reward and punishment as in Lo Lishma rather there we advance differently; hence for us to be in Lishma that’s the reward.

25. S. (59:19) I remember that you always explain that one who studies Kabbalah has a certain relation towards the Creator, towards spirituality, he should feel joy. Even if he feels hatred he should curse the Creator, no matter what, but not to be indifferent. So I want to ask if a person is indifferent to spirituality doesn't mean that the stoney heart controls him?

R. Yes for the time being, but it is all temporary, everything changes, everything changes.

26. S. (01:00:22) The envy and honor, I think I'm able to hear you somewhat, the way we use it in the ten, how to imagine it even in the Lishma, maybe. But lust, how did we relate the lust to the work in the ten?

R. We’re constantly talking about it.

S. I didn't understand it.

R. So continue listening, hearing and you’ll absorb it.

Reading Excerpt # 3 (01:01:03 - 01:02:09) twice

27. R. (01:02:12) I can envy Archimedes or Columbus or all kinds of people who lived hundreds of years ago and also those that will live a thousand years from now and we'll fly to the stars, there is no limit to envy. I can envy one person or all of humanity but in quality and quantity envy is not limited.

Reader continues (01:02:44)

28. R. (01:03:21) We just need to imagine how great this force is, infinite in distance and number everything and anything and this is the central force that works in our will to receive and as much as this force is important for us in order to reach the end of correction, each of us. So when we look at children, the one who has greater envy can actually become a great person and the one who is lame with his envy then he is less than that he will also find his place in life but he won't become a Napoleon for example. That is how it is.

29. S. (01:04:23) Where in our work in connection we have to look for envy and where should we leave it aside because also in connection is this point of dissolving and trying to ignore and annul the differences between us?

R. Again.

S. I'm asking where in the work of connection we have to look for the envy and where should we ignore it, put it aside, because in connection is also the stage of dissolving and annulment where we search to annul the differences, I don't find the place of envy there.

R. No we should not erase the envy, both at the same time I'm greater than my friends and my friends are greater than me I'm great because I'm lowering myself towards the friends and I also grow myself, envy is something you cannot cancel, don't even think about it, on the contrary otherwise the person does not grow, he has no chance of being a great, we need to reach the degree of the Creator, return the children of Israel to the Lord your God, that is what is written, he who wish to be Creator’s son has to reach the degree of the Creator all the way up, as strange as it sounds, but that is how it is written.

S. But there is such a state where we try to rise above all the differences, above all these edges between us and become one?

R. To be one doesn’t mean that each one is like everyone, no, we all wish to be as one connected as one, in one body, one desire, one intention towards one goal, but each one has to stand out relative to the others in that.

S. Does it serve the one?

R. Yes of course, tell me if we are a ten where do you see in the ten, in the 10 Sefirot one similar to the other, on the contrary, each discernment, each aspect of the quality is different the one who precedes it and the one who follows it, it's opposite, there's opposition. Do you get it? An inversion between the Sefirot. That is how we relate to one another in this way, each one should have something special about him and we all connect and then in our gathering we come to resemble the Creator who is the origin of all of us.

Reading excerpt #4 (1:11:24) “A person has qualities..”

30. R. (1:12:40) That is a very special thing what we can acquire through the society, anyone that does not develop in the society cannot acquire those qualities but only those he acquired from his parents and even those that would not wouldn't develop in him that much because he lacks someone to simulate them and to warm him, motivated to grow up, that's why he continues and says that through the connection, we can acquire such qualities that we lack, but that exist in others and we can receive them from others meaning we have all the opportunities that we need to become a complete human, complete Adam before the shattering, but only when we learn how to connect and use the qualities that we received from the friends.

31. S. (01:14:00) What does it mean that the parents pass it on to the children?

R. In heredity, from parents to children, that's how it is.

32. S. (01:14:23) What does it mean to acquire from the society? Do I have to know them to..?

R. Acquires means that he pays and he buys, acquisition. It means you have to give something in order to receive something. Say you invest in the connection with the friends, you subjugate yourself towards something or someone, by that you acquire from him his qualities. You receive his qualities from him, whatever he does, whatever he knows.

S. So I have to be in some connection with him? I need to see it or?

R. Of course, how else do you do it?

S. I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I see someone enjoying something on TV. I see someone in the group enjoying doing some rule, enjoying it and I also want to do it but if it looks like he’s suffering I don't want to suffer.

R. Okay so you acquire from him his attitude toward a certain phenomena and by that you either enjoy or you escape pain.

S. Is it according to what I see in my vessels, in my reality?

R. It is according to what you choose of course.

S. But sometimes if feels like I get desires which are not mine, I don't know where they come from.

R. That’s probably from the heavens. You choose it but it's either a result from your previous choice when you entered some society or relationship, and now you understand what you got out of it or it comes from above without your choice.

S. And how to work with it, how to cleanse it? What’s my right attitude, how do I develop the right relation to it? Let’s say it’s a hindrance. I feel like running around, beating the whole world, becoming a millionaire but I want to connect with the friends, so it’s a hindrance, an obstruction. How do I work with it?

R. I understand. Again only through connection with the society. You have no other chance of overcoming foreign desires unless you’re connected with a society, or you can run away in the wrong direction. The right direction is always when you have an inclination towards the center of the ten.

S. Okay so I run to the group, to the society like a baby, a child who runs to the mother and that's it? I shut my eyes and it should go away, disappear?

R. You have to be in connection with all the friends with the ten to cause, bring that connection, be in that connection with them. That is your salvation, that’s your life.

S. And should I want things to disappear?

R. You don't pay attention to other things, the important thing is this.

33. S. (01:17:55) In the excerpt about qualities, attributes in the end he says we also get forces. Can you explain the difference? What is it that we get? What are the differences between them?

R. In the meantime it could be measurements and then they become forces that you can actually work with.

S. What are qualities, attributes?

R. Qualities or attributes are qualities of heroes or honor but before they are connected to a force, before they can be executed. So we can call them attributes.

S. So there are qualities that we get from the parents. What do we get in the end from the friends, forces? Because we say each one is different, what do I acquire from the friends?

R. I don't know exactly what is it that I acquire from the friends. I want to connect with everyone, connect with all friends, be at the center of the society. Center meaning the center of the forces, so that everything that’s in the group I want it to go through me, to absorb it, right? I develop by all these forces so that the sum total of the ten where there’s the force of the Creator, the Creator governs it. I want them to be as my spiritual parents in such a way that I nullify before the group and I seek the force of the Creator there to teach me, to push me forward, to format me.

S. So all the forces, all the friends, my force is added into there?

R. Yes, that is what I do. If I annul before them they all influence me and their collective force, their general force, their total force, that’s the Creator.

S. And how does it feel when you acquire these forces from the friends?

R. I feel that I change by the influence of the environment. It’s the influence of the environment on the person and the Creator is the manager of this whole business.

34. S. (01:20:46) Envy sounds like a very egoistic quality because I want to steal something in the friend.

R. No, you don't want to steal, maybe in our world it turns out that it has to do with matter. But if it's not, what if it has to do with his view or his knowledge? So you can’t rob it from him, you can only make it so that you have it too.

S. So I need to want special qualities that the friends have that will be in me too?

R. Of course.

S. So why do I need it if we connect?

R. To connect with them.

S. But if we’re connecting I get it anyway so why do I need it? How is that connected to attaining the Creator, because we want to connect?

R. If you connect together you will attain the Creator.

S. How is that connected to envy that I want to acquire something in the friend, his qualities?

R. You want to acquire the friend's quality so you have them too, yes. So that’s how you connect. You want to approach him in a corporeal way: I will take it from him, he won't have it and I will have it. Like a child takes a toy from his friends, like that, it doesn't happen that way. You have to receive from your friends the same qualities that he has, to copy them to yourself.

S. What for? What do I need his qualities for?

R. To be connected with him. You essentially don't receive it from him, you connect to him and through that you achieve connection. And then what each one has, everyone has.

S. Without envy I can’t connect to the friend?

R. No. You won't feel that he has anything.

35. S. (01:23:11) I connect to my friends and I am in gratitude to everything I get from them but I'm not envious of them. So is that right that I'm full of gratitude but not envious? The question is how to turn gratitude into envy?

R. This is a problem if you don't have any envy. This, what we sometimes see in kids and we awaken them, invoke in them and say look how the other’s doing this, look at how the other’s doing that, learn from this one, learn from that one, go play with the other one, be like this one. We invoke that in kids, we want them to grow, same thing in spirituality. We want to receive from each and everyone their qualities but what are those actual qualities? What should they do for me that I want to connect with them? When I connect with the friends, I connect with their qualities and I don't take it. I don't take the qualities from the friend, I also can't do it even if I really want to. But by connection I can use all the qualities that everyone has.

36. S. (01:25:00) How to be envious of the Creator?

R. That is not a simple problem, how to envy the Creator. Envying the Creator means being envious of the force of bestowal, love, for support of everyone, of connection with everyone. Being in envy of the Creator, meaning of being in bestowal in order to bestow. How to achieve that? I have to look at the friends, from the Creator I can't learn, He is hidden. Therefore our whole work is in connecting with the friends to the extent that I see in them qualities of love, bestowal, connection. Accordingly I will be envious of them and I will want to be together with them and in the connection between us we will achieve that quality called the Creator. Did you understand me or not? It’s quite important.

S. So to search for the quality, search for the quality of bestowal in the friends.

R. Possibly. We have to look for friends with which we can connect together and in our connection together we will begin to reveal the upper force. From Him we will then start receiving guidance and He will bring us to the actual point of connection.

37. S. (01:27:30) A question arises here but also if I look at yesterday's lesson it turns out that in the ten there are friends that have certain qualities. Let's say someone has a tendency to study languages and is successful in learning Hebrew and then in the lessons he listens in Hebrew and already understands better and deeper. I understand that I'm not able to do it because I can't learn languages. So how do I connect it to yesterday's lesson where I discover a big lie in me but our purpose is to connect and we haven't got to it yet? How to ascend above that? What sensations is it part of, and if I'm in a descent is it a new step?

R. You don't need to look at the friends in terms of how each and every one of them advances. Each one has his own inclination according to his own nature. What's important is to achieve connection with everyone based on what you are, that’s it. Don't take anything from others besides the general picture, the general form which is that everyone is drawn towards connection. But in what manner of connection, one is good with languages another one is good with music, all of that stuff it's not important. You are with what you are.

38. S. (01:29:30) I have a friend in the ten that I'm envious of because he has energy and forces. In all our meetings he invests all of his time in being connected to the friends and I'm envious of that, I see he is huge. So you said that if I connect to this person or do I acquire his qualities? I can't acquire those qualities because he's way better than me, he has more energy than me, so what do I acquire, the desire?

R. You cannot acquire desire from him, you take from him, receive from him an example. Based on the example from him you try to advance towards the same forms, as he bestows to others you might bestow also. This means that envy raises you to another level of bestowal.

39. S. (01:31:05) You said that without envy there is no connection but if the other day when we gather, let's say morning lesson, now I'm sitting and listening to the lesson. If I don't feel this force of envy does that mean it's a place of work, that I have to do something inside?

R. Well of course, you certainly need to think about how to develop in you the force of envy. The fire of envy is the greatest thing.

40. S. (01:32:07) We learned that the environment is what establishes us and we learned that envy isn’t a good thing and we have to put it to sleep. But now in the ten and in the studies what do I have to do? Awaken the friends to be envious of me or awaken the envy in me?

R. We have to be envious of all the friends as much as possible. The more the better.

Reading Excerpt # 5 (01:32:50)

41. R. (01:33:20) That's it, that's the answer for what you asked. We have to be envious of each other because by that we all rise to a higher level. That’s it.

42. S. (01:33:50) You said that I can’t take the friend's qualities but I can use them. What does that mean?

R. If you connect to them you can use their qualities.

S. I don't understand, I'm sorry.

R. Well, so you will understand it on the way.

43. S. (01:34:16) Is it beneficial to see the uniqueness in every friend and value that?

R. Yes.

44. S. (01:34:32) It's written by envy, lust and honor but the process is opposite. First you need to honor friends then the lust awakens and then you get envy?

R. Perhaps, okay.

45. S. (01:35:03) The matter of envy for me is very challenging. I see it that when I try to bestow to the friends it becomes even more difficult to be envious of them. So what am I doing wrong? It has to be opposite, no?

R. We have to start using it with all the opportunities and forces and then we’ll see how it happens. But look at what is written, that envy, lust and honor takes the person out of this world. Meaning if you want to rise above this world then we should use all these attributes of envy, lust and honor whether they're in this form or in another form, honor, lust and envy, it doesn't matter.

Reading Excerpt # 6 (01:36:01)

46. R. (01:36:43) Meaning even if a person has nothing, he's like a little child, someone who is falling behind, somehow if he joins the group where they study and do something and he wants to be among them, then he receives forces from them and advances. He advances, there is no problem there. So there is no one who can say the Creator didn’t give me anything, I can't do anything, that is how I am born and that's how I'm going to die. Incorrect. You can connect with the environment and it’s greater and greater each time and thus advance.

47. S. (01:37:32) For the first time I have a sensation that I'm sitting in the lesson and my reception is a great pleasure for the friends that are receiving the light that reforms. Is that Lishma?

R. This is still not Lishma, but it's on the way, it’s on the path.

48. S. (01:38:03) In corporeal life when you’re envious of someone and you can't attain what he has you try to forget about it so it won't hurt the ego, and in the ten it has to be the opposite?

R. Of course. If you learn from him you have to try to somehow get closer to him.

49. S. (01:38:54) Is the Creator envious and if He is about who?

R. He didn’t tell me.

S. Okay, thank-you.

R. Don't be so smart. If you want me to allow you to ask, don't be so smart. Don’t say I’m sorry, just think about it and remember it.

50. S. (01:39:31) In what can one ten be envious of another ten?

R. Envy among tens is already a completely different kind of work, we’re not discussing this now. Let’s not get ourselves confused and confuse it with the work between us. All together there needs to be support as much as we can, and if we encounter some states where we can help each other between tens then we’ll do it. And if not then each one is focussed on itself meaning each ten is focussed on itself. Connection between the tens, we’re not going to go there right now.

51. S. (01:40:40) In corporeality when you're envious of someone let's say some athlete. So there’s a process where for being envious you need to exert to get those muscles. How does it work in spirituality?

R. Again, here too you first have to have a desire to resemble the upper one, this is what we discussed, envy, lust and honor, they take the person out of this world. So first of all there has to be envy, that I want to be like him. And then we're talking about lust and about honor, and these things help me rise from my degree to the degree of the one I'm envious of.

S. He writes that it's enough to be envious and then it happens automatically. Where is there work?

R. Everything develops from jealousy, that's true.

S. You don't need to exert beyond the envy? Just envy and then I get what I need?

R. Yes, why not?

S. Because in corporeality it's not enough to be envious, you have to work to be like the one I’m envious of.

R. In spirituality I don't think that's kind of work we're talking about. There is work of subjugation but it’s not like it is in corporeality.

52. S. (01:42:16) Can we awaken envy through prayer or ask for envy in prayer?

R. Yes. If you see that someone is doing the work of prayer, of making requests, raising MAN, revealing the deficiency, then it's worthwhile to be envious of him and try to resemble him.

S. In our ten there’s great envy towards the ten of PT6, they are really great friends. How can one ten help another ten advance?

R. Try to be like them and that's it. You don't need to approach them and cling to them physically or somehow, just look at what they do and try to do as they do. Maybe not exactly like them, maybe in a different way but then feel their effort. Yes, in PT6 there are strong people.

53. S. (01:43:53) In the ten there are different friends, some are easier to envy and some are harder.

R. Yes, in each and every friend we should see good things and try not to see bad things, meaning things that you don't like.

54. S. (01:44:29) He puts a condition here in number 6. In the beginning he says if he’s with people that have a desire for spirituality and if he likes those friends he takes power to overcome from their aspirations. What does it mean to like these people?

R. That they're pleasant, that the he feels them as close, that he wants to get closer to them. That means that he likes them.

S. that he feels that they're bestowing?

R. I don't know. That he likes them, that could start from a very corporeal state to the highest spiritual state. You understand Hebrew, you understand what is being said here.

55. S. (01:45:31) I hope this question has a place. How does envying the friends and the light that reforms, how are they connected? What is the connection between them? Because we learn that the light that reforms is the main force that changes us.

R. Envy raises the person to a different place if the envy is for higher things bestowal, love connection. So then comes the upper light over that force and raises the person according to his desire. Envy is not a bad thing as it is in our world as it is customary to think, that the envy is about basically wanting to ruin the other. Envy in spirituality means I’m envious of the other and we’re all envious of the great people that know how to bestow, connect everyone. And therefore we don’t look at envy as a bad thing. It says that author’s envy multiplies wisdom.

Reading Excerpt # 7 (01:47:07) “ 7. One should depict his friend as serving the Creator

more than him, [...] and "authors' [also counters'] envy..”

56. R. (01:47:50) Yes, therefore envy is very important thing and here there was discussion on how to reduce or destroy all these things. We don't destroy anything. When we come to the final correction all of our worst qualities receive a 620 greater intensity and only then we achieve the complete correction.

57. S. (01:48:17) How can I on my behalf help other friends develop envy whether for me or others?

R. Yes, as we show it to children to develop them. If we are in a ten where our intention is to reach the end of correction than we need to try and show each other how much each and everyone bestows.

58. S. (01:49:04) If for instance I'm not envious, is my pride what blocks that ability from me?

R. Possibly. It could be the same envy but in a different way. Because you are afraid to fail and therefore you don’t activate the quality of envy.

S. There are friends that say I'm not envious of anyone and also in life, so how do I work with that?

R. That’s impossible, it’s just that you don't want to fail, you don't have to come to shame so that everyone will see how unsuccessful you are. And therefore you want to show youself as not envious of anyone.

59. S. (01:50:18) It feels like these qualities we’re speaking about envy, lust, honor, it’s like a key to the stony heart of a person.

R. Right.

S. And it awakens like prayers, once it’s the force to overcome, once it’s the force to annul. But there's something here that’s like a barrier, that the will to receive won’t let a person reach this final prayer that he can break through. What is the order of prayers a person needs to build in himself in order exit these qualities or to develop through them?

R. The order of the prayers we won’t study for now. What we feel we lack right now is what we need to ask for. If we can ask together, ask together, discuss it, talk about it. If we can’t, then each one on his own for now.

S. So how to take these prayers that awaken in every person as a private prayer and how to make it a group prayer?

R. About this I'm telling you we will have to learn. We are not yet that much ready to feel that we are all together, everyone is a single man, as one man in one heart. We just came out of the holidays of somehow starting to start talk about the connection of the ten.

60. S. (01:51:54) To continue what you just said, suddenly we gather here as a surprise and the friends found an opportunity to meet. So we’re doing this Shabbat together in Moscow and here, and obviously in the last two days or the last week something amazing happened, I think we all feel it. What's happening to us and how to strengthen what’s happening to us?

R. I think that what you need is to learn what we are studying, you with us in all our stages that we went through. Therefore we will continue together. I'm very happy that you are connecting there in this opportunity and it’s really beautiful what is happening to you there.

S. These are friends that came from Moscow and Ukraine from all kinds of reasons.

R. I understand. But it doesn't matter, what matters is you’re all together there and can incorporate with each other, draw the light that reforms. And this upper light will connect them, and correct them, and keep them safe, guard them, and we too will all think about you. We will be together as much as possible, in all the lessons, in in all the meetings.

61. S. (01:54:37) If at a certain stage where I feel I’m lacking envy can I ask the Creator for help to have good envy?

R. Usually we ask for connection, that's it. Because envy could be both a negative and a positive force as we learn.

62. S. (01:55:06) You have talked about jealousy between children and there is no shame or harm to each other when children do it for their progress, when there's jealousy among friends there is progress but we always have shame and fear of hurting the friends, so how can we overcome this?

R. That I don't think this is a problem, I want to see the friends is greater, higher and more successful because it gives me an example of what I need to attain, and thus we will advance that each one will want to see himself in a way that the others will be envious of him because by he cares about the progress of society in general. So don't be afraid that the friends will be envious, don't make yourself smaller rather to make yourselves zero towards the others like Rabash writes in the social articles, that can be together with me setting an example of progress and showing them how much it is possible to be great try it and see.

63. S. (01:57:00) And how to combine it with Rabash that he says it’s good to lower himself towards the friends?

R. That's also true but not all the time, just not all the time, sometimes greater, sometimes smaller, helping, needing help, in different manners, one should be weak, connect in the ten, so there are many qualities there, to give we need to give each and every quality to work.

S. We always learned about the importance to be humble, that it goes against envy, so how does a person know when this way and that way?

R. That depends on the subtlety of the soul.

S. What should we do when there is this inner voice that says that nobody courts after the King’s daughter?

R. So he has his own qualities, so what.

S. So I can’t be envious of that, it’s too much.

R. So you’re in a different place.

S. So I’m saying there’s like a barrier that cancels the connection to be envious of someone because you can’t really be envious of him.

R. Why no, you have nine other friends, and each one is changing, what do you mean there's nothing to be envious of?

S. Let’s say a person has a quality, in corporeality it’s very clear, let's say I have a friend in the ten, Danny, he’s an amazing guitar player, I’ve very envious of him, I wish I could play guitar like that, but I cannot be envious because I’m going to have to practice for many years.

R. So what?

S. I'm saying in spirituality compared to that, you see a friend that he has amazing qualities and you say that you don't have those qualities and you can never have them because it’s his uniqueness, so how can you be envious of that?

R. Yes.

S. So I'm not envious.

R. No envy because one doesn’t crave the daughter of the King.

S. So exactly, so what do I do with it because I do want to be envious of him?

R. So you cannot be envious of this thing, maybe you can be envious of something else and maybe not at all, maybe he’s so sublime with respect to you that you have no way to be envious and all you can do is open your mouth and that's it. You have other friends besides him, so don't be his friend.

64. S. (02:00:05) In what exactly should I be envious of the friends because I can’t see their tendency to connect, it’s concealed?

R. What to be envious of? First of all, I'm envious of the women that even though they are very busy with their taking care of their families and their children, their man and everything they do and still they find time and strength for the group. For the lessons, they write to me about how much they want me to follow up with the questions and so on and they're never calm. They want to reach the purpose of life and that’s truly an amazing thing about the women because they're very busy with their daily life and still they want to advance and they do advance.

65. S. (02:01:27) Should I be envious specifically of the woman in my ten or can I be envious of women in other tens?

R. Yes, you can be envious of any woman in any ten but it is most effective to be envious of women in your ten.

66. S. (02:01:49) Can women be envious of men in the path?

R. No it doesn’t really work out that way, there’s no equivalence.

67. S. (02:02:01) Is there something to be envious about in every friend?

R. Yes, of course, why wouldn’t there be, I want to take from each and every one whatever good thing they have and resemble that.

68. S. (02:02:17) How does envy influence a person that people are envious of?

R. How does a person change if someone is envious of him?

S. How does it affect the person?

R. The person doesn't need to know that I'm envious of him. It is best if he doesn't know because that may put an obstacle in front of him and increase their ego.

69. S. (02:02:56) What is bad envy and how can we protect ourselves from its negative influence?

R. Bad envy is that I don't wish spiritual progress for a person, I want him to be lower so that I won’t need to be envious of him, and good envy is that I actually evoke and awaken him to be even greater.

70. S. (2:03:36) Is it possible to awaken envy through inner actions or must there be an external action to awaken envy in the friends?

R. We should be concerned about awakening and invoking every in each and every friend.

71. S. (02:03:58) How to make sure that envy won’t bring hatred?

R. That cannot be in the group that envy brings hatred because we always have to talk about by envy, lust and honor we raise ourselves from the corporeal world to the spiritual world.

72. S. (02:04:26) You said we have to be envious of a friend to want to be like her more or even more than her, but doesn't that go against the principle that we have to make sure that the friend will come closer to the Creator before me?

R. Okay so he will advance before me, so what? I before him, he’s before me, and this is how each one pushes the other.

73. S. (02:04:59) You said that in the connection I can acquire the quality of envy but I don't feel that it happens when I connect with the friends, I'm not acquiring their qualities, and not their desire to attain the Creator, why?

R. Because it depends on you because you aren't trying to see greatness in them. Even from the smallest person you can learn something.

74. S. (02:05:26) It seems that you can really find the special quality in every friend that adds to the spiritual connection, how is this effort to find the place of envy, how does that help the connection between us?

R. We come closer to each other simply because the Creator arranged the group for us and told us that we have to come closer to each other because by that we come closer to Him and that is how we do it, without asking too much.

75. S. (02:06:24) I am envious of the great Kabbalists because they know that I’m really small, is that right envy?

R. Yes but there has to be more practical envy closer to me, if I wake up from my sleep, what is my first thought about? Connection in the group. When I woke up to connect with them without thinking, without calculating things in my mind, did I wake up with that or not? That's something we need to work on.

76. S. (02:07:08) Can I be envious of a friend and be happy for her at the same time?

R. Obviously yes envy doesn’t cancel love, it doesn't cancel our connection, our closeness, our embrace.

77. S. (02:07:29) How to cope with the state in the ten where the friends are envious of you and always try to lower you instead of connecting with you?

R. You have to forgive them and still keep going, and be as close as you can to them.

78. S. (02:07:50) Envy can also bring some despair in the work, how do we make sure that the envy will motivate me forward and not stop me?

R. That depends on me as much as I manage my envy and not let the envy manage me.

79. S. (02:08:12) Many times friends in the ten are impressed by me, they give me compliments and I feel I don’t deserve it and it is not helpful this envy, not to me, not to the ten, it very much bothers me and also some other friends in the ten, how to use these states correctly?

R. Just to advance, more and more towards connection, there's no other solution here, love will cover all crimes, that's what needs to be.

80. S. (02:08:54) We always hear that behind the friends stands the Creator so being envious of specific qualities in the friends is actually being envious of the Creator?

R. No, that we can’t tell the difference here yet but soon we will start seeing that too.

81. S. (02:09:19) What is better, to be envious of a new student who just joined, and move to another ten with new students, or being in my ten and not feeling envy but seeing that there is hard and difficult work there.

R. We should not leave the ten in any way, if there's no choice, so maybe everybody can decide together but not that one person decides that he's leaving one ten and going to another ten. It is completely wrong, that's why we just need to strengthen, to do good in the tens.

82. S. (02:10:16) When a person feels a strong response to envy, what determines it, does he try to lower the others or be like them, what determines what he chooses?

R. Obviously to be like him is better but to lower someone, that is the worst action. It lowers you and then you completely come out of spirituality already because the action is anti-spiritual.

S. So the question is what determines if a person does this or that?

R. It’s his decision, his choice.

83. (2:11:03) If we have great gratitude for the Creator, the great qualities he gave us, do we still need to be envious, is this necessary?

R. The qualities that the Creator gave us we need to live with them and correct them, until we reach the state of Adam HaRishon, that's why we cannot disregard them and to correct them, we must.

84. S. (02:11:33) If I'm envious of a friend can it harm her or maybe make her prideful?

R. Yes, but we need to do it in a way that we do not awaken in the friend some kind of bad tendencies.

85. S. (02:12:01) How do I generate envy in the friends, how can I make myself envious, because I see them as great but I see you still see myself as greater, can I ask my friends to humiliate me?

R. No, we don't need that, we just need to raise everybody, I rise with them and they rise. As it is written, all the way up to the Creator. That's why we don't need to knock anyone down.

86. S. (02:12:35) Is it possible to receive from the friends negative qualities through envy and that's why it's not customary to talk about inner states?

R. We never speak about inner states, it is not a custom here, and to receive qualities from the friends, negative qualities, we need to make sure that everything we receive we understand that it doesn't come from the friends themselves but it goes from the Creator and then it comes to me, that's why when I answer that, respond to it, I’m responding to the Creator and then it comes to the friends, and in that way if I don't forget to connect myself towards the friends, so I won’t make a mistake and I will always advance correctly.

87. S. (02:13:46) According with the measure of envy towards the friends, I also have importance of the friends?

R. Yes, that could be, usually yes.

88. S. (02:14:03) The more I depict the friends as greater in my eyes the more I advance?

R. That's for sure. As much as I value the others, I’m advancing.

89. S. (02:14:21) Is it better not to speak of how great each friend is towards or in front of the friends to not fail them?

R. That’s also true. If the group is new or weak so we shouldn't raise the friends too much because by that we might cause them a fall.

Reading excerpt # 8 (02:15:22) “When the evil inclination comes and shows him ….”

90. R. (02:16:02) Yes, we need to try and see only the greatness of the friends and not the opposite.

Reading excerpt #9 (02:16:10) “A person should feel that he is worse...” Twice

91. S. (02:17:45) Meaning that envy never shows us that the friends are more, more than us.

92. S. (02:18:06) I see the merits of the friends and I see great examples even more than that it brings me joy and I'm willing to support them and everything but in all honesty I'm not envious. A simple examples a few friends got together and I know that many of them came from connection and the it wasn't easier for me to just focus on the lesson being here I wouldn't have come because I don't have envy. In the past I knew that people who come to connect here and I know this a great example but honestly speaking there's no envy so what's the reason for that and how to include that in the prayer for connection?

R. I will tell you we are special people whoever is joining Bnei Baruch now and all together and whoever is Bnei Baruch they are special people who are from all the world and with tweezers they were chosen those people and brought to our organization. That's why we don't have the same tendencies that regular humans usually have, we don't gather to put some political party together or some big society but each and everyone remains very individual and isn't connected to the friends to other friends like we usually, like people usually connect, we do not feel it. Also in our life each one was relatively lonely.

That's the nature of the type of people that are drawn towards as the Creator just like the Creator is lonely and individual. So the fact that you got to some kind of connection in Moscow that's rare. We also tried to connect here in Petah Tikvah and that’s also rare and we know that is not simple and now we are thinking how we can make our connections in some Congress or something, so we see this not really working, also because the external conditions, expensive flights, expensive tickets, and also because what are we lacking with the connection we have between us? We can already be connected between us even by not sitting actually together. So, that is why I cannot really tell you what's better I cannot say.

S. If I can complete the question, I think I mixed up two things. If I see a good example in a friends but with it I'm not envious that this mean that this quality is a quality of remoteness that are not connected with him or is that I know different reason?

R. I cannot say there could be a few reasons.

93. S. (02:22:26) After talking to you there is a concern about the Congress in February because there are a lot of uncertainties in the world, there's also the pandemic, the rising costs, and there is a fear to bring the friends here, what do you think about this?

R. First of all I said about three months ago that these things don't belong to me, there’s an ideological group, they have to make the decision and I’m willing to be in their hands. I do not know exactly what is happening in the world, I don't know exactly what is happening in Bnei Baruch, in Israel and what the state of Petah Tikva is, and the state of where we used to do all the congresses in Tel Aviv, I don't know all these things, I think you can decide and then I will join you and do my job.

According to what I'm told now I shouldn't even go downstairs during the meals. I do go down but still they are saying it is dangerous. That the Coronavirus is on the rise and that's how it is. About the congress in the south, as much as I hear that will also be hard to conduct because we cannot connect the two congresses and to only have a congress there it will be very expensive, the flight tickets. We don't know what is even going to happen with Russia and Ukraine and all the other countries, who knows what's going on in Europe, and Israel, so that's why we have a problem, we have a problem how we will plan our near future. I don't know but this ideological team, they are responsible for deciding. And I don't have too much concern, I just take myself and come everywhere they tell me, whatever they say. That's what I can answer.

S. Why doesn’t the Creator let us come all together in a single place?

R. You'll have to turn to him, not to me, you have to ask him why he's not letting you. I think there's a clear reason we are still in a world that isn’t worthy for a gathering, and we’re still not worthy for a gathering, we still have to keep going as we’re learning now. And to start uniting the tens, uniting the groups and in this maybe we'll go through the winter in such a way. Why specifically connection in a certain place in geography, why should that give us a spiritual connection, I don't know.

If we have an opportunity we can but for now I don't see this opportunity. The flight tickets are three times more than they used to be, why are they taking these prices I don't know. Who knows what is going to happen with the Corona if they shut it down or not, the flights and what’s going to be with all the people who buy tickets, I don't have an answer for that. That's why for now we are waiting and the more we wait, the tickets are going up, so anyway we have a problem, I guess we are not working right or good and all these signs are against us, for now let's see. For now we're going to keep studying, we're going to keep gathering our connection and that's how we keep going.

94. S. (2:28:30) How do you summarize this listen that we covered envy as a power to take us to Lishma? How to aim it to Lishma, envy is something that you want to make it a possession, to make it yours, Lishma you have to be completely nullified, to not exist.

R. But if I want to be envious In order to annul towards the others to annul myself towards the Creator so it's a good thing and I think that without envy we are not human because lust is even in animals, relatively, also honor in the animate degree, it is connected to the will to receive more but envy belongs to a human quality, so envy, lust and honor we have to respect them to increase them and to aim them so they will direct us to a higher degree.
