Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. The Freedom (The Necessity to Preserve the Freedom of the Individual)

1. R. (00:15) We will continue. These are very interesting things and in our time they're very relevant.

Reading title “The necessity to preserve the freedom of the individual” (00:24): “Know that this is the one true…”

2. R. (01:57) Meaning if this person doesn't correct whatever he has within him then no one else can do it in his place and what about the rest of the world and all of reality? That there will be a flaw that will not be corrected? We'll talk about that later.

3. S. (02:20) Why is it like that? If I didn't do my part then its one system something else will happen.

R. No, how could that be if this belongs to you, then no one can touch it. It is your own personal thing.

S. But it will replace one letter with another and it will take something else in the system to take my role.

R. We'll talk about it, there's something to what you're talking about but it's not that clear.

Reading continues (03:00) “Here we need to understand that when a particular tendency…”

4. R. (03:48) We'll talk about that, it's very interesting that there's nothing good or nothing bad but we need to measure each and everything according to its own development.

Reading continues (04:20) “from the above said...”

5. S. (05:55) What is the meaning of saying that they are murderers of souls?

R. That if I don't give someone the ability to correct their soul then it's like I'm ruining their soul I'm killing it and that is considered as soul killers.

6. S. (06:34) He writes that even those without religion or purposeful guidance can understand the necessity to preserve the freedom of the individual and he explains, what does he mean by religion?

R. The religion is Kabbalah.

S. He says even those who do not believe in religion or purposeful guidance can understand the necessity to preserve the freedom of the individual. What is he talking about here?

R. There is a system of nature in which we exist and we need to examine it and understand it, what connection with the upper force which looks over us we are in.

S. He gives such a feeling that if someone is dishonest and untrustworthy then we should protect these qualities and not change him. That's what he is saying because each and every tendency to see will become exalted concepts.

R. Yes we need to reach a state that we are helping him, we are helping him understand that he needs correction and to support him a little bit towards correction.

S. So not try to improve him or correct him?

R. No, that is called the world correctors if you're pressuring someone in correcting someone.

S. If someone […]

R. Even your own children.

S. If someone is harming me I should say thank you and continue?

R. No.

S. So?

R. Also not the opposite you need to make them understand as much as possible that he is doing an action which is not good, it's possible because maybe you're seeing it that way because it's related to you.

S. Meaning not to try to correct him or give him a hint or not try to correct him?

R. Right, correction cannot be made one towards the other.

S. What do you mean you can’t correct one another?

R. No one can correct anyone else.

S. So how can we correct one another?

R. When we will cause correction in the system and then the system, meaning the Creator or the upper force will influence whoever needs the correction.

S. But it's only in our systems, not people from the outside that's what we are talking about, from our system?

R. Yes.

7. S. (09:35) What has to happen so I will change from a soul murderer and understand the system of nature and the obligation of keeping the freedom?

R. You only need to spread the wisdom of Kabbalah among people in a way that doesn't force them but only notifies them of what the correction of the world is. That is the only way that you cannot ruin the souls.

8. S. (10:21) How do you relate to the conquest of King David as an ascension or a higher degree of the nations of the world?

R. Yes, it's written about that in the Book of Zohar extensively, King David was very very high and he was a great Kabbalist.

S. If we take the Roman Empire, they too had a purpose and a goal and they lived in caves and trees and so in the descent, they coerced?

R. Just like in our time that we pass on to the development from country to country, so what? It's not spiritual development, it's corporeal development. Read psalms by King David and you have someone in the world from the kings that wrote something that way.

S. We are with the women from Ukraine, from Israel and Australia, every day we read Psalms at noon.

R. That's good, that helps the correction of the soul.

9. S. (12:19) What actions and thoughts and intentions and desires of the Ten suppress or ruin a personal tendency or quality of a friend?

R. The worst possible thing is if we force one another, forcefully with the force of fear or the force of punishment if we force the friends to do certain actions. It has to be through freedom of choice.

S. Are there any boundaries or framework let's say we take upon ourselves and force the friends?

R. Only an example.

10. S. (13:50) Being more precise, if I murder souls, what we're learning, it's clear that that's what I will see around me that everyone is soul murderers and everyone will show catch the thief, how can I pay attention and see what the problem is in me?

R. You try and get love towards the friends there's nothing else. This love will already direct you how to connect with them correctly.

S. What can awaken me in a desire to attain love for those that I hate because I think that everyone is soul murderers?

R. You need to imagine that the Creator is standing behind you and He is making them such in your eyes in order for you to change yourself and be similar to the Creator.

S. Meaning?

R. In other words that same negative thing that that friend awakens and you is actually done by the Creator so that you will change yourself in such a way you will connect with the Creator specifically through the friends.

S. Nevertheless I have a feeling that there has to be a certain inversion that I would want it and I need to start suffering because of a soul murderer?

R. You need to learn from your friends and show them how you want to be good and connected to them. Even though you don't need it at all.

11. S. (16:10) How should we define peace in our practical work? We do not kill any desire and support it to realize the stages of improvement of development, so what is the correct approach to the piece in the work in the work in the ten?

R. Shalom is from the word Shlemut, completion, wholeness that's why we need to imagine for ourselves this perfection or wholeness in our relations that everyone is in a circle or like a ball or a sphere that no one has anything against the other and each one is willing to work for the other That is how we reach a state that in the connection between us in this circle between us we become similar to the Creator. According to the extent that we will be similar to the Creator, the Creator will be revealed in us. He will fulfill us and we will feel him and we will discover him. Until all of us through the connection between us will reach a state that the Creator can be revealed in full and this state is called the final correction.

12. S. (18:25) I understood that each one of us there's a part that doesn't exist in anyone else but me and my correction in this part. meaning I correct myself and I give to my friends that which they do not have and if this is so and it turns out that I am bestowing to the ten?

R. You could say that in any case that you bestow either negative broken desires or positive ones, it doesn't really change the essence. You need to think how you can bestow positively upon the others.

13. S. (19:31) What is the freedom of the individual?

R. The freedom of the individual it's when you identify completely with the Creator and then you are considered as completely free. That can happen only when you have no will to receive that speaks but only a will to bestow.

14. S. (20:21) We are talking now about people who are on the path and they wish to reach spirituality but I think that Baal HaSulam is writing about people in our world so that there are people who live according to the laws of the normal?

R. Yes.

S. What does it mean to not limit the freedom of choice? There's a leader who causes war, the death of many people, all the bad in the world and explains to him that he needs correction. What does it mean not to tighten?

R. I don't understand.

S. I'm saying that here Baal HaSulam says that you cannot ruin, but now we have a leader who caused a terrible war and caused the death of many people so what does it mean not to ruin his freedom?

R. I still don't understand what you're asking.

S. There is a head of state who started a war and he brings his harm to his country and another country. What does it mean not to suppress his unique personality? What does it mean to give him freedom and not convince him that he needs correction?

R. Nobody's saying that, it says that we need to behave in such a way that we need to correct the state and this leader as you're saying is a result of our relationships. We made him that way.

S. So not touch him but engage with Torah ourselves?

R. What Is the benefit of touching him? Another one will come instead of him. On the contrary, we need to make it so that there won't be such a state like that in the world that a person like that will not be able to appear, that someone who can harm others and that depends on us.

15 S. (23:28) They're global processes that are happening and there is purposeful providence, where is purposeful providence here, in the world? I have to do certain actions and regret them in the name of purposeful providence?

R. You still don't see it, it will soon be clarified more.

S. It's possible that we have to do certain actions in the name of purposeful providence and regret them?

R. I don't understand what you're saying.

S. For example a country that defends itself from terror, or eliminates a terrorist organization or has to eliminate a terrorist organization, it has to do it regretfully or with sorrow?

R. Of course with sorrow. How can you do something, how can you kill someone and not be sorry?

S. With someone who rejoices in the death of others?

R. We're not talking about if there are such people, we're talking to the point, can a person be joyful for killing someone even if the person they're killing is the worst possible person and caused a lot of trouble. I see your head is a bit twisted, that is why in such cases I like to hear women.

16. S. (25:31) If we don't understand or we cannot work with a deficiency of the friend, does that mean we are murdering their soul?

R. No, we need to create such an environment that each and every friend will have a comfortable situation to connect to everyone and to bestow upon everyone. That is the rule.

17. S. (26:23) I know that I don't have freedom, I'm a prisoner of my own desires, and together with that I am constantly angry, who am I angry at and for what, that I'm not able to manage my desires and will it be over?

R. You need to agree to the fact that you are governed by the Creator and then you will have calmness.

18. S. (27:06) When a person doesn't come regularly to the lesson and to the meetings and they don't contribute to the Ten regularly, can I define that as a soul murderer?

R. At least coming closer to it, if I don't participate with the group together then of course I don't give them the opportunity to correct. I am ruining their souls which could have risen and have been corrected.

19. S. (28:15) What's the connection between corporeal qualities and mutual characteristics and the spiritual connection?

R. There is none.

S. Why should we not destroy them?

R. Destroy what?

S. That’s what Baal HaSulam writes, that you should not destroy any tendency in the minority and different people, why is it important to maintain their culture and corporeal nature?

R. Because gradually it brings them towards the correction of the soul, but the fact that it's actually connected to the correction of the soul, no.

20. S. (29:06) Why do you call us the last generation?

R. Go to Baal HaSulam’s article and read about it.
