Baal HaSulam - Concealment and Disclosure of the Face of the Creator - 1

1. Rav’s Introduction:

Yes, as part of this topic of concealment, which is the primary topic because through concealment we come to revelation. This is a process that is necessary for us to come to feel, understand, discover the Creator, perceive the Creator through all the discernments that He wants us to discover Him through. It turns out to be a very broad and delicate topic. We're in a very special reality. This whole reality is basically hiding the Creator and if we relate to this reality in the right way, through still, vegetative, animate, speaking then we gradually discover how even though the Creator hides. He doesn't want to stay concealed, He wants us to discover Him and this concealment only teaches us how to improve in order to discover Him in the right way. Do not to stay in some blind faith, but to attain Him in a clear, open way from concealment to revelation. Therefore, we have to see this world as given to us as an opportunity so that behind the corporeal world we will begin to discover the spiritual world. The extent to which there are degrees of concealment and revelation in it and thus we rise from one degree to the next from its concealment to its revelation spirit. Specifically, by these exercises that the Creator designed for us from the beginning to the end of creation, we will acquire the mind, the emotion, we will understand how the Creator hides and how we were supposed to discover Him. How we should see specifically from the concealment and the revelation what He wants to say to us through that. 

Even though the light excels from darkness and from within the darkness, but the darkness is the initial attainment only from that we begin to discover the light, the Creator what he wants to tell us. This is His language. Through dot, line, circle, triangle then different kinds of darkness, different kinds of lights that appear one opposite the other or one after the other and gradually, we begin to have attainment as we acquire the same language, the same programs that the Creator wants us to build ourselves with and thus understand and feel Him and be His partner, His sons in all of reality, in all of the different ways He will hide and appear. Until we come to a point where the whole concealment supports the revelation and specifically when it doesn't disappear, it rather becomes a background for all of this on which we discover the upper force and we ourselves integrate with both light and darkness and we come to the complete revelation to the final correction. Studying both concealment and revelation in a theoretical way, we can't yet see concealment opposite revelation and vice versa, which if we had both and if we can move with our strength from one to the other and identify the Creator’s language and what He wants to tell us with that, this way we will advance. 

The whole of creation includes let's say a positive and a negative, darkness and light and towards us, in general it appears as concealment and revelation. It's very important to us in the states we go through everyday, every moment we have to hold ourselves in the right way, facing what's happening and seeing what we have here from the measure of concealment and the measure of revelation. Most importantly not to escape facing the Creator who always designs our reality as comprised of concealment and revelation. Just like how we write letters on a white background, He opens His attitude to us, His nature to us so that we will gradually understand Him, identify Him and come to adhesion with him. It's all in front of us and it's specifically through concealment and revelation. So if we try throughout our lives, it doesn't matter where we are, if we try to hold ourselves as being in a certain level of concealment and revelation of the Creator, that all these two, concealment to revelation in different ways He paints the picture of reality, ourselves, our feelings so we will have a right way to better approach Him and begin to not feel ourselves in our world but feel Him, how He designs us in our world.

2. S. (08:27) This matter that you talked about right now touched me greatly. This thing above reason is like a ship that is sailing in the darkness. What else are we missing from faith above reason until we reach the complete revelation?

R. Yes, that's true in faith above reason we hold that whatever happens to us happens from the Creator, even the darkness comes from Him, the light too comes from Him and we always need to discern what truly comes from the darkness and from the light. Our choice is through trying to as much as we are in bestowal, we can see how the Creator treats us with bestowal. The more we are in reception, the more we will see the whole world in reception as well. About this it says, in general, one judges through his own faults, so in faith above reason we try to build ourselves in the quality of bestowal, above the quality of reception, until we begin to discover the attitude of the Creator to us according to equivalence of form. That's how we learn.

3. S. (10:25) You reminded us of these letters on a white background. Do we have to resemble that concealment under the white that way?

R. At first there are no letters, at the beginning of creation there's the upper light filling the whole of reality as we learned this is what the book The Tree of Life or TES starts from right before the emanations were emanated and the creations created there was the upper abstract light filling up the whole of reality and it had no beginning and no end, everything was one great light filling the whole of reality and so on. Later when it wanted to create, it created beings, then the point of darkness was made where the light as though moves itself, making room for creation. This is called the creation of the black point that was made within the light as if and that starts the connection between the Creator and the created being. The Creator and the black point that desire the will to bestow and the will to receive and from that point begins the line, the circle and different relationships between us. 

Ultimately, the sum of these relationships after the root and Aleph, root is the thought of creation, Aleph is the giving itself, bestowal and it is already the level of Bina that begins to respond the response of the created being to the Upper light, wanting to be like the upper light, resembling the upper light somehow and a natural response that's also existed in the Upper light otherwise where we come from? From Bina the letters begin, which is the forms of relationships from above downwards, from the Creator to the created beings and the other way around, from below upwards and so from Bina the letters begin. Also not from GAR of Bina where it is still the upper light but from ZAT of Bina where the creation feels that it's in the upper light and it cannot stay that way, it has to respond. It has this natural urge this natural tendency, it responds. That gives us the first letters from Aleph to Tet, Aleph Bet Gimel Dalet Hei Vav Zayin Chet Tet, the first nine letters so these are nine qualities in ZAT in Bina, the lower part of Bina and the desire to bestow that awakens in Bina wants to resemble the Upper light and so it turns itself into these shapes like Aleph, Bet, Gimel, Dalet, these letters and these shapes didn't come from anywhere besides the combinations of the quality of lights and the qualities of darkness and so that's what paints the picture of black letters over white backgrounds. 

The white background is the upper light,Ein Sof, and the different shapes represent the will to receive and how it's capable of equalizing with the Upper light but showing its form of equivalence, showing its tendency towards the Upper light to resemble the upper light and so on. These are the first nine letters but then comes ZA, Bechina Gimel, and this is the nine qualities from Yud to .... basically everything besides Kuf, Reish, Shin Tav, that gives us until Tzadi. They represent ZA for us which is the rule of Bina inside the will to receive and these are qualities that come to us from above. Then come only the last four letters of the Aleph Bet which are Kuf, Reish, Shin and Tav which are the letters of Malchut. Altogether in the Aleph Bet we have 22 letters. 

There are five additional ending letters, these are suffixes the letters that are written at the end of words “MNTZPCH” is the acronym, these are letters that are written differently if they're in the middle of words, or at the ending of words. We'll learn that at some point but that's basically what gives us the different letters, the 22 forms in which the will to receive discovers the light that operates on it. That produces the Hebrew Aleph Bet so if we want to move from, to the other side of resembling the light this means the Hebrew, from the word to pass on or cross over to the other side, so we have to go through the shape of the letters and that's why there's a significant part in the Zohar and in the wisdom of Kabbalah that discusses the letters. Their shape is unchanging for thousands of years and that's why the grammar of Hebrew meaning the way in which the letters connect also doesn't change for thousands of years because it stems from the relationship between the light and the vessel. 

Very simple that if today we were to meet Moses, David, whoever you want from those who lived there 3, 4, 5 thousand years ago basically from Adam HaRishon because Adam HaRishon was the one who discovered the relationship between the lights and vessels and arranged these letters. This is what they, this is what was studied in their room, in their school and that's what we, that's where we get all this relationship between lights and vessels, between the revelation and concealment. This is with regards to the letters. In our life where we are still not dressed in those letters we're still not living in those templates of the relationship between the will to bestow and the will to receive and the relationship between them which is described by all the letters then we will learn the relationship between concealment and revelation according to what Baal HaSulam writes to us which is more practical for us and closer to us for now.

4. S. (19:17) You said that our personal forces, with our forces we will be able to move from concealment revelation and vice versa. How do we do this? What's necessary for that?

R. We always begin from the state of concealment. It comes from how the Creator opens spirituality for us, a little bit more, more of the light but we feel it as darkness, lack of understanding, lack of feeling, disorientation and we need to try to identify with the form that we receive, because we certainly get it only from the Creator. To the extent that we want to take this, except this darkness as light then we begin to discover the inner qualities that this darkness becomes light and it shines on us through its various inner forms and this is how we begin to discover the form of the Creator, the language of the Creator, His attitude to us, what does He want to say. But it's only according to our level of equivalence to Him because this way instead of darkness, we see letters we see lights inner lights, surrounding lights with all the Reshimot with everything, This is basically the language only more detailed, more revealed. Thankfully we will advance and see, but it all depends on how we relate in our life, which is our whole life is the revelation of the Creator, the whole world is the revelation of the Creator and especially the friends are concealment of the Creator and standing behind them and we have to discover His language, His appearance so that I can respond correctly to his relation to me and then there is a dialog a language a conversation between us.

5. S. (22:06) As a ten what way do we need to act in order to protect ourselves correctly so that we will be able to feel on the level of concealment and revelation, feel Him?

R. The most accurate and short way is to connect between us in mind and heart and want to turn to the Creator, through this connection between us to bring Him contentment and then we recognize that the relationship between us, the more warm and the tighter it is that brings a good relationship to the Creator to the point that we feel that He is content from us. If we feel not so much that we are not yet discovering a good relation from Him, we need to accept this in a good way and a welcoming way as well, because we understand as well that only through revelation and concealment, the Creator designs us prepares us to be ready for complete adhesion with Him.

6. S. (23:54) It seems like I received an answer but I will ask nevertheless. About the fact that we are changing the states and you could say that we are like writing spirituality, we're uniting in the ten and it's like we're writing words, letters. Is that right to feel that?

R. It's only on the condition that we unite to a single point, which is a black point over the white background and we begin to respond through the relation between us, the more connected they are then we begin to write on the white background with black letters. These letters are our will to receive which we established as a will to bestow between us and the Creator. We come to a level of Arvut between us and to that extent we can bestow to the Creator and shape the different lines and circles over the white background. These lines and circles theme black to us because that's how it appears to us, but really it influences the Creator from above downwards.

7. S. (25:23) Can we come to a state in which we will be able to appreciate concealment before it will be revealing the revelation within it?

R. We can appreciate the concealment to the extent that my environment appreciates the concealment. Then I begin to worry about the concealment because I don't want the concealment to go away. I want it to stay, because from the concealment I can express myself, show how I'm loyal to the Creator, how much I love the Creator, how much without getting any favors from Him I want to give to Him. Then my giving to Him will proceed what He wants to give to me. I first do the Tzimtzum, Masach, Ohr Hozer and then to the extent that I give Him back this good attitude, according to that measure I can receive from him. The Creator is Ein Sof, I can't have this attitude towards Him, but I'm wanting and I'm concerned, that I care about him relating to me this way meaning to keep me from getting too much. I ask him to give me an opportunity to bestow according to my strength and not to show Himself more than what I can handle and receive from His revelation, having this face-to-face relationship with Him. That's where the mutual relationship between the Creator and the created being begins to appear, as the created being begins to be called Adam from the word, Domeh, similar to the Creator. Adam, to be the right replica of Him.

8. S. (27:50) In regards to this language, how will this upper language be revealed between us?

R. In its in connection, to the relationship between us, as much as the relationship between us and the ten will be similar to our relationship with the Creator, then we will begin to discover that we between us come to various forms of the correct connection between us and thus we will discover that the Creator fills our letters, our relationships. That's how it works.

9. S. (28:46) Our ten on Zoom yesterday evening read this article of Baal HaSulam, of Concealment and Disclosure of the Face. After reading this article, there was this feeling that the most important thing in life is actually double concealment, then regular and there was this emptiness that was revealed, meaning that it's not simple. How to fill that emptiness?

R. We will learn all those things, be a bit more patient and don't jump ahead. Don't think that we are already understanding the first part. We will learn that. We will get there.

10. S. (29:43) To the Creator we need to try ourselves to correct the relations between us?

R. Kabbalists write to us and explain to us what is the relation of the Creator to the created beings. What is the meaning of the quality of bestowal? Rabash writes to us how we need to begin to design the relationship between us, all of that is so that from the connection between us we relate to the Creator. What are we doing? We are building a group where, in the right connection between them as they are more and more meticulous about it and focused on it. They build themselves in similarity to the Creator and to the extent that we are similar to the Creator, to that extent He appears in us.

11. S. (30:55) You were talking several times about the language of the Creator and the practical manner for the ten, how can we identify the language of the Creator or we can be in tune with this language?

R. The language of the Creator is the language of bestowal. To the extent that we arrive at levels of bestowal between us, we will begin to identify that the Creator is turning to us. Before that, He is also constantly governing us but through concealment and if we begin to match our qualities which means not our individual qualities but those qualities between us because everyone individually is the animate level everyone towards the others especially towards his friends in the ten can be even on the speaking level. Only to the extent that we come to the level of the speaking which means the level of bestowal between us then from our common relationships we can turn to the Creator. Then we will learn what it means, the friends the connection between them, that after this or that kind of connection we build between us different forms of relationships meaning the letters, we will allow the Creator to be revealed and each and every letter that we establish between us, all kinds of lines that we establish, it will bring us it will shine in us and bring us the revelation of the Creator.

12. S. (33:20) We started to talk about the language of the Creator and around concealment and revelation. We also mentioned the letters, but somewhat I would like to avoid excitement around revelation and concealment around the work of the heart. What is the participation of the teacher in this process?

R. The whole wisdom of Kabbalah is a wisdom that appears in our desires - which try and achieve sympathy with the Creator, in our desires we mostly feel two feelings, good and bad and we relate to that all sorts of forms of relationship between us and the Creator. The whole wisdom of Kabbalah appears only in the emotion because what the Creator created is the will to receive so it's not going to help you to intellectualize it. You're not going to be able to program a person like the animate level and make the wisdom of Kabbalah some dry science. It's a completely emotional wisdom. It's all emotional wisdom and it develops man's emotions and it requires man to open his heart and so when you say the other way around how to lock the emotions and only discern things intellectually, it doesn't work because the mind follows the emotion. You first feel things, even you, a person who wants to always have a schematic way of looking at things, and pragmatically and so on. 

You first feel and then you try to take it into your mind and as much as you can do that you understand life and not any other way; otherwise, you're just a limited computer. We have to develop the feelings between us, specifically to open our hearts and to the extent that you're capable of that which takes years, until you understand that there is no choice, I have to use, I have to activate my feeling to others forcefully and then to the extent of revelation and concealment with my emotion, I can begin to identify the Creator, the Upper root that is behind my feeling. 

When I begin to receive these different forms of feeling, I will begin to understand where does it come from, why? What the Creator is doing and as a result, I will have an understanding of the Creator, why does He relate that way? The Creator created a desire and what felt in the desire is felt, it's a feeling. The mind, the intellect only stands next to the desire as a small system that aids us and also in a very limited way, so one who thinks that he can use the mind to advance will find yourselves in philosophy psychology all kinds of things, but not the wisdom of Kabbalah. He's not going to acquire the revelation of the Creator and it will take him years, possibly his whole life, but ultimately those who come to the revelation of the Creator, come to an emotion and from the emotion, this is why it's called the wisdom of the heart, only from there we engage in the wisdom of Kabbalah and discover the Upper force. 

So if you see a person who sits and studies from dawn to dusk all kinds of things, that he's not getting anything from besides dry wisdom, so know that it isn't the wisdom of Kabbalah and he's very far from it. The main thing we need is to develop the heart. There are many quotes about it, Kabbalists write about it. This is basically the main difference between the wisdom of Kabbalah and religion because all the religion talks about is following physical actions without intentions. But what's important is the physical realization of it whether it's with your hands or legs or mouth and the wisdom of Kabbalah only talks about the actions of the heart, that's the main thing and that's why it talks both about this world and the next world, it doesn't matter, but the feeling of being a better person brings a person to a state where he wants to feel the Creator, where he wants his desire, his heart to be filled with actions of bestowal.

13. S. (39:45) Is it possible to say that when we connect in the ten, we are connecting, composing - it's like we're writing the letters?

R. We, this is still early, but later yes, we do, we put, we compose the letters, we put them together on the background of the Upper light, that's how we speak to the Creator. There is language for the Upper ones, language for the lower ones there's many things here in our connection to the Creator but what we need to know is that our correspondence with Him is through our connection in the ten.

14. S. (41:00) During the Creator's concealment and His revelation, in the process of these two phases, is it possible to detach from both states and just flow with the friends no matter what?

R. Yes, of course, this is one of the means that we are using to integrate with the friends and thus we can advance, yes. One of the ways to adhere to the friends, Rabash writes it is to make yourself a zero towards them.

15. S. (41:55) How do we work with emotions in the group of ten because we understand that our human emotions came from the desire to receive and can confuse us?

R. In the ten we need to portray to ourselves all of us as connected. The Upper light, the Upper force influences us. It wants to take us to a state ‘we’re through not feeling each other, as we will feel each other, we will come to feel Him, the Upper force. These are at the moment the exercises that we need to do.

16. S. (43:01) So that the concealment that I receive will be correct, does it need to be from the work in the group? Or do I not need to wait for a response?

R. I don't exactly understand what he's asking.

S. He's asking do I need to wait for a response from the work in the ten to see that he's in the right concealment or does he have to expect concealment for a response?

R. And every moment I need to try to do what Rabash writes to me about the work in the group that's all. Perhaps I won't see correct things, I have to browse these pages, where he talks about my work in the group, each time and try to do them. Even though I don't see the right responses, I have to do what Rabash writes until I see the right results and most importantly is the subjugation that corresponds to the restriction, that's the first action. To see oneself as the smallest, the servant, not to be prideful and not to jump above everyone else. These people typically think they can do good to others and usually their example is not good for the friends, not a good example. Our work normally needs to be in modesty because the wisdom of Kabbalah begins from Safra dTznuta, the book for the modest ones meaning those who begin the past by restrictions over themselves. That's what Rabash writes and so those who jump and take pride and want to be great, it happens, it happens, I felt it on myself too. But that needs to be something you get rid of as soon as possible. The Creator will arrange that education for you.

17. S. (46:26) Do these 22 letters mean 22 states and how does a person discover these?

R. It's 22 letters, ZAT of Binah ZA and Malchut 9, 9 and 4 gives you 22 and five more letters which represent the Masach that stands between Atzilut and Binah which is the Parsa which are comprised of five discernments called the ending letters. They are written in the ending of the words. Letters Mem, Nun Peh Tzadi, Kaf...”MNTZPCH”. That's basically what there is. It cannot change. It stems from the shapes of the lights and vessels and therefore it's a system that as it was built by the Upper light that created the desire, that's how it is and so if we understand that, then we can read what people wrote thousands of years ago and there's no problem with that. It can never change. If we, in our world, in all kinds of academies for languages understood what is the true relationship between the light and the vessel, then we would have no problem to continue to maintain this relationship between the light and the vessel which has to do with the letters, how the letters connect to each other, what's called the structures of the language, all of that follows the upper law so there can't be any change in that.

18. S. (49:08) How can one identify if one is ready for the sensation of the Creator? Is the danger of breakage again in the vessel of perception?

R. There can't be any more shattering. If we try to establish the right relationship between us in the group, in the ten, we definitely come to a state where we better understand, feel and approach the Creator. Until we begin to identify Him and when we begin to identify Him, we begin to understand the concealment that exists and how, through the concealment, He is speaking to us. In the meantime, we need to understand His revelation through the concealments meaning to discover the black letters over the white light.

19. S. (50:10) How can we build this degree called a letter in the ten?

R. The correct relationship, that when you try to establish between us in order to somewhat resemble the Creator, they take us to understand the letters, the correct templates of relationship between us and between us and the Creator. Let's move to the article.

20. R. Here we have to see where we are. Are we in concealment, complete concealment where we have no connection with the Creator or like he says we are strengthening in believing that the Creator with His guidance caused him all of these, all the states he's going through? This is none-the-less considered seeing the Creator's back. If we have this inner feeling that what comes to me, all that I feel in life is after all coming to me from the Creator, that is called being in a single concealment. That's already a degree. It's a person who tries in everything he's going through in all of the discernments and states in life, incidents in life, he tries to discover that it comes to him from the Upper force. It's the language of the Creator that the Creator talks to him addresses him of course it's through other people, all kinds of incidents, through relatives through bigger things, smaller things, the whole world, even just his personal inner feeling from through his body. Ultimately, if you understand that it's his connection with the Creator, then he's in a single concealment. Concealment number one and if he's detached from that, thinking that everything's happening to him by chance, by blind faith by some friends or people far from him, then accordingly he is in a double concealment or in a complete detachment. Here we have to see where we are.

21. S. (56:07) It appears like in the work in the ten we've been through a stage where we're not just working with the friends and trying to observe all that we learned in the writings of Rabash, but we're also trying to wrap it all with the right intention before the Creator, we're constantly trying to aim towards Him. Where is that all together in the story or are we not in this or that at all?

R. You have to tell yourself, you have to tell yourselves, I don't know and I can't tell you this way and other people will understand it another way you have to determine what state you are in. Let's read it again.

22. S. How do we feel inside of us the revelation of the Creator?

R. I don't know, how can I tell you about a feeling?

S. Because I don't have the vessels to connect to Him.

R. That through the friends you have to reach a state where whatever you want to receive from the Creator, to feel Him, you are already in such feelings, relationships, intentions in the group.

23. S. (59:45) The revelation of the back as Baal HaSulam writes about and the revelation of evil is there a connection point between the two?

R. It all depends on how a person determines that.

24. S. (01:00:06) It sounds like first concealment is an ideal state with all the sufferings and the states he has that he's strengthening but thinking that the Creator did this?

R. This is basically a state of work of the person if it is so.

S. Why is it considered like the posterior and not revelation?

R. Because it's not revelation, in the meantime he receives from the Creator seemingly a bad attitude. The Creator is rejecting him pushing him.

S. What's that state where there is no work, do we want to yearn for a state where there is no disclosure?

R. We need to yearn for adhesion, Dvekut, first of all. The end result in the initial thought, adhesion and you're telling me why is this state not ideal? We are talking about concealment.

S. Isn't adhesion upon everything that's revealed to a person that he strengthens, nevertheless?

R. Above the concealment I come to identify with the Creator, despite the concealment, this is called Dvekut.

S. Is this not what he's just described in the verse?

R. No, the difference is that he feels bad, he feels bad, he suffers. His plans don't happen but still he believes but he has special strength that holds him in seeing that he receives everything from the Creator and these things are leading him to a good state.

S. You say always there's no bad without?

R. You're just throwing sentences that mean you don't want to listen to me, that's for the last few lessons.

S. I'm trying to understand what's that state of adhesion that doesn’t include the evil described.

R. Does he feel bad or not?

S. He feels bad.

R. So what adhesion can there be? That you suffer blows and you say how great it is? Think. It's been like that in the last few lessons, I'm seeing some deviation in your questions. Think.

25. S. (01:02:48) My question is how can we come to this concealment?

R. We need in any way possible to be above all these states in great connection between us and the Creator. This is the general movement that needs to happen. If you will be this way, you will certainly not go wrong.

26. S. (01:03:33) The last few lessons are so powerful, that attitude towards concealment is changing here. Now and from these last few lessons we need to not throw out the concealment, but to protect it close to us. On the other hand, I understand that concealment is a lowly state where it's not good for me and I feel lowly because it's like I'm hidden from the Creator, so how do I need to connect to joy in connection with the friends with the concealment? How is that possible?

R. Good question. Do you need to be in a state where you feel the concealment? You're happy that the Creator gave you an opportunity, even in a state where you feel His attitude to you as opposite to what He is. You have to relate to Him as though you feel Him as good that does good. You understand that all of these attitudes from the Creator to you come to you through your ego, through your will to receive, through your lack of connection with the ten. The Creator is revealing to you the ascent needed for the next degree. It's all these degrees, He's showing you the gap between you and the next degree you have to rise to. This is called rising with faith above reason let's say and so even though you feel that nothing is working out, life, family, health, your mood, it all depends on how you take it. If you accept it as the back of the Creator, why would he want to push you forwards? 

So if you behave according to that, you will see how the posterior becomes the face and so through concealment and revelation, posterior and face, let's flip flop, you will grow and advance. When you take all of this posterior and you are happy with that so you can build the right attitude to the Creator and then you discover that it's not posterior at all because when you change your attitude to that it becomes His face. We have to try to work with this more and more. Most importantly here is to justify the providence, to justify the providence and it can happen in the most severe and sharp manner. I see, I already see a lot of malfunctions that appear in regards to that and this has to be the attitude to the group and the teacher and the Creator in a way that this is truth, this is sacred and this is spirituality and if I don't relate to it this way, there's nothing I can do. I'm not aimed at the goal correctly. I'm going to turn around and around and around, if not go through life cycles again until I get an entrance to spirituality.

27. S. (01:08:28) The attempt to reveal the Creator is disclosing to us through the still vegetative, animate and speaking, is it right to say that the creature responds to what the Creator arranges for him, does he respond?

R. The creature responds and he feels that as his attitude to life but if we want to advance and understand the Creator then we need to arrange our attitude in a way that we are seemingly in the force of bestowal. Not a natural bodily corporeal response but rather I want to respond to the host the way the host responds to me and in that I have to trust that he behaves to me only and good that does good and above my feeling, I have to respond to him as good that does good and so what qualities of mine do I have to change? How can I change them with the light that reforms? How do I do that? By connecting an annulment before the ten. This way I each time upgrade myself towards the Creator.

S. Before also or can I initiate this conversation with a Creator, do I not wait to respond?

R. This is by connecting correctly to the ten, through the ten you have a conversation with the Creator. How else do you want to discover Him? How do you want to reveal Him? The Creator can only be revealed in a ten, in connection between people in a relationship between people, through all the events they have together if they are all aimed at discovering their unity, so that whatever happens to them, it doesn't matter what it is, it happens from the Creator. S. What does it mean every moment that I do preparation before the Creator turns to me, I'm preparing myself to read His language correctly?

R. Right, you are going for connection with the friends, in any case as you are going to submit yourself towards them, subjugate yourself, not to manipulate them and be greater than them but you submit yourself to them. We have a few such examples in the groups lately are people who want to lead them and pull them in all kinds of directions and then corrupt the groups and the groups, stupidly, I would say are following the so-called leaders, these Messianic leaders. First concealment is not too bad he can still see where he is more or less, a second concealment talks about a person who himself cannot see that he is in some contact with the Creator and so only the friends can throw him a rope or a lifebuoy otherwise he drowns in the malicious water.

S. He writes here in the whole article he gives his corporeal examples that his sustenance, Health, honor. Is that what we need to yearn for, for the revelation?

R. No these are signs not that you need to see it as a goal but these are signs in your spiritual state, if you are a spiritual state will be better through the group and to the Creator then you will feel also your corporeal state accordingly.

32. S. (01:25:43) The second concealment comes as a result of us wanting to receive the revelation of the Creator for us?

R. Yes.

33. S. (01:26:07) Why does the Creator give a creature II concealment if he's in the first concealment he's working in the right way?

R. No, it's not that the Creator determines it or the person determines it, this is determined by the system itself how a person has to evolve according to the root of his soul and how much he realizes this correctly according to his free choice in the group. From these two things when the root of the soul determines the first and the last point of his development and all the rest on the way is determined by him, his relation to the 10 that he is in. That essentially determines all of man's life, his whole fate.

34. S. (01:27:14) He writes and all of his acquaintances the wicked looking at the fate are the most successful, healthy, good, no disease, what is that everything is opposite?

R. I don't understand the question.

S. He references all of the wicked mock the faith, they're successful. No sickness, it is like everything, the inclinations are opposite, everything is in first concealment and successful and only I'm not. What is the reason for that?

R. The reason for the first concealment and second concealment is about people who are on the path and not just off the street, this is only about the Creator's attitude toward them, to advance them through concealment to the goal of life. Then it turns out that these are the means that he has an order to awaken, they're more concerned for their spiritual state. Even when they don't awaken, these states accumulate, as a result of these states accumulating increasingly more, these bad states, as it is said not until eternity and so a person recognizes that he has to do something in his life, that he has to change something in life. R. On a spiritual path a person is one time in this state and another time in another state, where he is you can't say how he accepts it. What do you understand about these things that you're saying that this is wrong? Compared to what? Your house, your kitchen, your wife and your salary and all of that? You can't compare these things, I'm sorry to say but it is going to take you a few more years until you understand what discernment it is speaking about.

36. S. (01:31:29) The double concealment seems like something very scary so does that happen to a person because he stops or slows his advancement?

R. You could say if he was in one concealment and now he descends to double concealment it is because he is negligent in adding in the necessary labor in his own situation.

37. S. (01:32:12) Can we go from the first to the second concealment or after we went to the second concealment you can't go back?

R. You can be in many times between a double and single concealment and vice-versa, many times on our path but we always have to try no matter what state we are in to be in revelation, only in the complete revelation is desirable in the eyes of the Creator and to us.

38. S. (01:33:03) Can you say about the fall is going from the first to the second concealment and that an ascent is from the 2nd to the 1st?

R. Yes.

39. S. (01:33:39) If a friend is in the second concealment how can we work with him as friends in the 10?

R. We don't know what states the friends are in, in society we have to create a spirit, a feeling that we are all in an ascent, elation just as Rabash writes and each one will be able to draw from there as much as he wants, can, for his personal ascent. We need to connect as much as possible, to connect up his own will, initiative.

40. S. (01:34:38) In the double concealment does that depend upon the society in the 10?

R. All of the concealments and vice-versa the revelations, depend only on our relation to the group because everything stems from the breaking of the vessel of Adam HaRishon up to the connection of the complete vessel. This is the path that we have to go through.

41. S. (01:35:25) But double concealment is still a concealment in what is the double concealment better than a complete lack of concealment and what is the difference between being in the concealment or in a double concealment? Or not being in concealment at all?

R. It depends on the individual, there are .... I heard several times during my life that students are complaining that they even came to the wisdom of Kabbalah in the first place, they were happy the way that they lived before they had everything in life, they were successful. In the evening I would go to a restaurant, I would travel on long vacations with the family, I had other goals in life, I had other things that I enjoyed. Once I went into the wisdom of Kabbalah I have nothing to enjoy, I have nothing but trouble, I have to constantly check and poke into what else I need in order to achieve the goal. I've heard it. It turns out that a person yearns to disconnect from all of those things, there are those who are the opposite that say this is life and this is the beast that lives in a sty, like a pigsty, that gets everything it needs including manure with the stench, but it is happy this way. It depends on a person's choice, in the end a plan of creation is written for everyone and you can't escape it, sooner or later everyone comes to his state where they feel that they are in the sty and they have to get out of there. They don't care what happens next to them with other pigs, but they have to be human, this is the way that it works. 

So the difference between the double concealment and the single concealment and the revelation in between a life that is completely not in concealment or revelation is a big difference. Those are in double concealment who don't even see the posterior side of the Creator but are still on the path they are spiritual states that he experiences and one of those states is double concealment. Where he specifically doesn't understand, doesn't feel and is disconnected from the Creator, but he is disconnected from the Creator, that there is a special relation from the Creator where the Creator disconnects him, people who are on the street are just like animals, they have nothing that connects them to the Creator. There is this general guidance on the still, vegetative and an animal and on them just as well like in the animal world. I don't think this is a very respectable situation.

S. A person says that the Creator let him go so the double concealment is a state that comes specifically after a person was in the first concealment because he felt that the Creator let him go?

R. Yes but besides we have to understand that both double and single concealment and also revelations, there is a whole spectrum in each of these states that a person is in. We can't say so this is double concealment. Double concealment you also have many states in and of itself, and single concealment you have many states and in revelation we learn in the wisdom of Kabbalah what degrees and states and worlds a person goes through. All of that comes from the level of concealment in hiding and how a person rises above them.

42. S. (01:41:00) I read this article many times and it always seemed to me that Baal HaSulam is writing in some way that is very depicting about the diseases and afterwards I saw it actually happen that way through these clear simple signs of life.

R. I don't want to tie these things together because it'll get twisted as if to the extent we are connected to the friends I'll succeed in my business or things in health. We shouldn't play with it this way, I still don't understand and feel it, it's still not within our power. We learn it as we learn it and everyone will understand according to their degree.

S. That is exactly the question in order to not connect to these external forms that Baal HaSulam is explaining so what is our criteria whether we are in concealment or revelation?

R. The criteria is the measurement is only the level of my connection to the friends the way Rabash writes, the level of my dedication to the Creator through the group, no any calculations, this concealment or that concealment. I don't want to understand it, I don't want to take it into consideration what kind of concealment I am in or what kind of revelation I am in. Because concealment and revelation are already something my will to receive is going to check. I want to check in my desire to bestow where I am with regard to the friends and to the Creator and what will be revealed to me as a state of concealment or revelation, or other forms and levels, spiritual degrees, is also made of concealment and revelation. I don't want to talk about that, it is not important to me, what is important to me is to every moment in life to perform the maximum act of bestowal towards the friends and through them to the Creator so he will be happy with us. That is it. The state of concealment or revelation, it is as if I am testing and this is why I work, I don't want that. What we learn we learn and we check but to be immersed in it I don't want that, it is not a clean approach.

S. To conceal results and success only exertion is my criteria?

R. He described these things the way they seem to a person who is in adhesion with the Creator that according to his perception, according to his feeling this is what people who are adhered to the Creator are like, out of his own adhesion where he lacks nothing if he has adhesion with the Creator but they are sick, they die, what do they have, all of them? No, they have nothing, you see that they get sick, no I don't see that they are sick. I don't see that they are dying. What are you crazy, what kind of state are you in, don't you understand this is the kind of state that it is? I see only one thing they are adhered to the Creator, attached to him, this is what a person sees according to his correction in people who are also in corrections. All who fault, fault in their own faults. 

There is nothing to explain here you just need according to the rules that we learn because we don't feel them yet but according to the rules that we learned this is what we should say, that those who are in revelation of the face to the extent that they are in revelation, see everything in revelation, but is it true or not? You cannot say that there is something that is truly true from the perspective of an objective perspective, there's no such thing in the world. It is all from the perspective of the will to receive that the Creator created according to the corrections in the will to receive. That's it. (01:56:56) If we observe these three states through the will to receive so it seems that revelation are the most pleasant for us but if you look on behalf of the adhesion that we want to attain, I see an advantage and every one of these states so is there some kind of truth that we have to be in revelation or one who aspires for adhesion can be in that he's in in any state?

R. Those who aspire for adhesion where a person's thoughts are that's where he is so according to this he checks and judges, do understand? It all depends on the individual on his perception, all who fault, fault in their own fault. He decides he faults, that is the way he feels so that's the way the world feels to him, this is why we only need to correct our perception of the infinite reality that we are in.

S. For example in the double concealment it seems that a person's prayer is a whole one and in every other state the will to receive his mixed up feeling that he has a connection with the Creator like he is getting help, or is there no help and if he can overcome and pray so maybe there are Kabbalists who would rather be another states to go through them to be adhered another forms?

R. Of course everyone has to go through all these states from the root of his soul to reveal the two ends on the spiritual path from absolute concealment, disconnection animate disconnection from there to complete concealment, from there to complete revelation, absolute total revelation. So we have to go in between those two states, concealment and revelation, revelation and concealment in that way to advance. 

45. S. (01:59:23) In the ten we speak about the connection, how do we work in double concealment in the 10 to take Torah as a spice?

R. We take the articles of Rabash and read them in the 10 and discuss to what extent we are in them or not in them and what to do in order to realize it the Rabash writes. By reading and by yearning to understand, to feel and to do what he writes, out of that we are already in doing, in action. That is it, we are doing it. In a general global way we are doing it but we have to pay more attention to it. Clear?

46. S. (02:00:53) The importance and happiness we receive from the environment does it depend on connection in the 10 and faith in Torah?

Kabbalists view reality through the quality of bestowal to the extent that they can rise above the quality of reception that is in them, controls them and wants to swap, to change it for the quality of the bestowal for Mutual inclination between them, pensions toward bestowal to that extent they develop the sense of bestowal to develop the upper force that unites them and manages them which is called the Creator.

R. Well yes but there are all kinds of gains here on behalf of the Creator toward man but yes, usually it is concealment revelation concealment revelation.

R. Revelation and concealment depend on the root of the soul of a person and it depends on the efforts that he makes to reach connection and his efforts for connection determine the extent of the revelation and concealment that he goes through and the pace between the revelation and the concealment that he goes to every time and in this way he advances. It all depends as much as he tries and tries to reach connection.

52. S. (02:07:29) When a person develops attention in the work all the states we describe here....?

R. It all depends on a person's efforts if he wants to feel it to take it through his feelings, and that you are right, that you said nice.

53. S. (02:08:07) Is fear an instrument to transition from one state to another or is it a result?

R. It is hard to say this way or that way, it depends on what state to what state a person goes through, don't be so strict that it's this way or that way, it is things that are revealed in our emotions and in our emotions we always go through different states.

R. Yes and afterwards all the centers of all of the tens will discover that they are all connected to one another and that there is a Upper force that connects and fills them all this is all on the way to it the main thing for us in our 10’s is that we need to be connected to the Creator and he is in the center of the 10. That is the force that unites, the force that manages, doing everything in the center of the connection between us as much as we recognize that point of connection, then we are more in a tendency to adhere to him. I really hope that until our Congress at the end of February that we will feel how important it is to us and that we have no more than being connected in our special center. Each and every 10 and then in a tendency toward the mutual Center between all of the tens, we can't feel that mutual center between everybody because we haven't revealed what the center of the 10 means yet. That feeling is still something we don't have but from it we will be able to start depicting what the mutual center between us is.

59. S. (02:17:40) We learn a person didn't demand revelation of the Creator but only work, he needn't demand to move from the place of concealment to the place of revelation?

R. That shouldn't be his direct purpose but only as a result, actually bestowing to the Creator is the purpose of the goal.

S. That state of revelation, is it a result?

R. The state of revelation is an indication, it is like a scale that I can measure as much as I am bestowing to the Creator, it's the result not the purpose itself.

S. What should a person who is in this terrible state demand?

R. To bestow contentment to the Creator and where can I check it, in all kinds of ways it could be that even whether I am close or far from him but I can also make a mistake I could be distant but in adhesion and not my closeness specifically that brings me to feel I am close. There are all kinds, many kinds.

60. S. (02:19:14) On high spiritual degrees is there room for concealment?

R. My will to receive still is not corrected in something so it is concealed, it is hiding the Creator from me. If my will to receive is corrected then it is corrected in such a way that I build such forms of concealment that specifically in them I reveal the Creator. That is something we have to understand how it works because we don't, you can't reveal the Creator, you can reveal as much as you resemble him. That is why it is called the Creator, come and see, you have made me.

61. S. (02:20:26) Can there be concealment between two friends in the 10?

R. No we're not speaking about that. Not in such a way.

62. S. (02:20:50) What does it mean disclosure and concealment depends on the root of a person's soul?

R. According to the fundamental point of man he goes through all kinds of states from the beginning to the final state, obviously it is according to the manner of which a person advances but the main thing is his fundamental point in the heart, his character.

63. S. (02:21:35) It sounds like all of their depictions of Baal HaSulam sound like they are completely in the will to receive, I don't understand where are the spiritual depictions we should aspire for?

R. As much as you agree, accept the guidance of the Creator as the good that does good this is called spirituality, to the extent that you will reveal yourself as agreeing with the Creator no matter what he gives you if you feel that you are with him, in a mutual revealed form.

S. Yes but the depictions he uses are so worldly, we're talking about the changing of the world?

R. It seems to you this way but you will work through this smallness and see, try to see as much through that little hole in the needle how the whole universe opens up.

64. S. (02:22:56) What is the Garden of Eden, is it the gathering of friends?

R. The Garden of Eden is called Malchut the will to receive that is entirely corrected in the quality of bestowal from Bina. There are also many explanations and definitions about it that are better and more precise, try to find them, we have them.

65. S. (02:23:45) The way of the second concealment to the first concealment that from the second concealment to the revelation, is this a path of justifying the Creator more and can you do this rationally through a negative event to convince myself that it influences me positively can a person work in this way?

R. What you said, you try to understand it on your own, I don't want to get complicated in the words you're saying.

66. R. This is called the depiction of the disclosure of the face meaning that he gets good and tranquility in all ways, if he needs something he prays and he gets it immediately, he doesn't have to do anything. Instantly what his desire wants, right away he gets it in his desire what he wants. Also the entire world is divided into people who walk the straight path and get everything from all of the abundance of the Creator until he can see the whole world that is all corrected.

67. S. (02:27:13) Concealment in revelation is this from the perspective of the Creator of the individual?

R. Of course the individual, how can it be from the Creator? The Creator is none else besides Him he created the will to receive he filled the will to receive with his force and he wants to bring that desire to the same form of the desire that is opposite from the qualities of the Creator, the will to receive from that it will come to the exact same form and feeling and state of the will to bestow of the Creator. That is what we're talking about.

68. S. (02:28:11) You said concealment and revelation is according to the root of the soul of a person does that mean that each one is on his way and it says if we're not connected in this, meaning we can't infect others, if I go into concealment it won't affect the 10?

R. What can I tell you, you think you're advancing and everything you do and it'll just get easier and simpler and more understood and I think it is the opposite. That is why from day-to-day from state-to-state you need to increase the way you check your criticism, you have to be more built correctly and not to think that you already understand what you need to do. Lately I start seeing that there are people who don't agree with me, with my decisions, I tossed a few people out of Bnei Baruch because of their wild behavior and I also think that I did it for the benefit of Bnei Baruch and those specific people. 

That I'm discovering that there are people that write it to me saying what I did is not right, supposedly. Meaning you don't understand where you are, I understand you don't have any preparation from your life, but you don’t know where you are.  In each and everything if you want to advance you have to get these conditions and not in your brain. How do you see in the wisdom of Kabbalah that in our brain we can't advance only with faith above reason, how can you start criticizing someone even a friend you can't criticize and the teacher? The people that it awakens within them, either they trick themselves, they organize themselves or they leave us, I am willing to stay with one little ten, just that I am leading them the right way in the right direction according to what I think. 

Suddenly I discover that there are people that criticize me, if it is not clear, so how can you advance, how will they advance? I don't understand this approach, how can that be that a person that doesn't know anything about his life, that even the concealment he doesn't feel, that we just learned concealment and revelation, also the concealment you don't know and you don't feel because the concealment there's already a bit of the revelation in it otherwise it's a beast and you are speaking like beasts. That wants to tell me why did you do this or that, how can it even be such a question that would arise in you? How? I don't understand, suddenly we see that all of Bnei Baruch aren't absorbing anything from our studies, that don't understand where they are and what they can be. Some wise guy from Odessa starts making a mess here, so just like I threw him out I'm willing to throw the others out, I don't have a problem. It is simple. By this I am checking you who will advance and who won't. 

You have to see it in a right way in spirituality, there is no such thing that you can't hear me, no such thing. I thought, I decided, I did an exercise, you accept it, good advance, you don't, good get off the wagon and go. I am not lacking those people who don't agree with what I'm doing, in spirituality I know exactly what to do and you need to see according to the states that we are going through that there is a plan. Whoever wants to be part of the plan, please, whoever doesn't, I'm asking you to leave now so it doesn't cause anything later.

(02:34:24) We wanted to announce Between the 26th and 28th of February the days are Friday Saturday and Sunday we will have a international virtual Congress instead of the big convention that way used to have every year in Tel Aviv. The Congress will be virtual instead of flights we will meet in our Arvut system, as you see there is a big team here that is already experienced and have already held such congresses but we think that this will be a unique Congress. So we have a few questions to begin the preparations and as we understand from you it is better to do this with everyone in the lesson in the 15 or 20 minutes we have every day.

S. How to use this congress with its character and form?

R. I think obviously we need to have the Congress on roughly the same dates we already had oh, the way we used to have it for many years in Tel Aviv. Let's hope soon we can go back to the same way that we used to do it or maybe not, so in Israel or somewhere else, but a physical gathering from all of our worldwide students, so obviously I respect it and I bless it. The topic is connection and we need to reveal more and more special materials that excite us towards connection and towards Arvut, this is the main part that we have that we need to do. We will put together the lessons, the workshops, the songs, we will want special participation by friends men and women and specifically by being in virtual connection we will try and pull more people from earth.

S. Lately we've been hearing from you the focus is inside the 10 so what should a congress be like at a time when the cell of the 10 is the main thing?

R. It comes from everything the Kabbalists do, according to the development, the egoistic development, we have reached a state where people started connecting first to a big group like Abraham's group. As it is written thousands and tens of thousands that went out of Babylon to connection and afterwards the big ego was revealed in them so they didn't have a choice and they started searching for what way they can keep the connection between them and they divided into tens and the original 10, the big ten by Rabbi Shimon reached the Gmar Tikkun and this is how they wrote the Book of Zohar. It is like the Rabash writes about the group of Rabbi Shimon that they reached all 125 degrees. That is why we need to see this process and understand that first we have to put together tens in a constant fundamental way every 10 as one man in one heart. From there we will start connecting between the tens, but that is different work already. We will start feeling how every 10 exists and still connects to another 10, that we are already speaking about life that isn't in the 10, connecting between us, but that there is a special combination between tens and that gives the feeling of life. Usually in Congresses friends from all over the world meet and there's a feeling of merging into the one great vessel, here it feels like in this Congress we are separated from each other, each one in his own box with his 10 doing some work. What is a congress about it, what is there a merging of a whole world Kli that will give us extra power?

R. That's why you have to think how to do it, what, are you making a kindergarten teacher of me that I'm going to act before you that I'm going to organize it? Start thinking and what state you are in and what state you want to get to, you have to reach a state that you have complete tens, each one closed within itself and each one giving the others an example. How you are connected in each and every 10, what's the difference between the tens are as much as they are similar and as much as they are different. Both. We're not connecting yet in a way that we mix together. There's a lot of questions about it but we have time and let's try. From today we have two months so it's good that we're speaking about it that we have the time to prepare it all and we should think about the character of the Congress as special and also we should give some time for the women as to how they can appear and how they can speak in front of everybody and with themselves, think about it and decide.
