Part 1 Rabash. Record 827. The Godliness Made the Concealment

Hello, we are reading the writings of Rabash, Article Number 827, The Godliness Made the Concealment. You can also find the materials on our website, on Sviva Tova and the Arvut system.

Reading Article: (00:31) The Godliness Made the Concealment

We should ask about the words, “The whole earth is full of His glory.” Also, it is written in The Zohar, “There is no place vacant from You.” What does that mean? After all, there was the Tzimtzum [restriction], where the light does not shine, so there is a vacant place, as it is written that through the Tzimtzum, a vacant place was made.

However, we should interpret that all the restrictions that we speak of pertain only to the lower ones. From the perspective of the Creator, there is no place vacant of Him, but rather “The whole earth is full of His glory.”

What does that come to teach us? Man should know that during the descent, when he thinks that there is no Godliness there that sustains the world, he is wrong. Rather, he should believe that even there, within the concealment, there is Godliness. That is, the godliness made the concealment so he would have a need to reveal. If one does not believe it, he is escaping the campaign.

Question (Women MAK): (02:19) What are the correct stages of revelation of the Creator from the descent?

M. Laitman: We need always to pay attention that the revelation of the Creator will always be maximum and expected, and that it will bring us joy.

Student: And the descent, do I need to realize that it comes from the Creator and it's for my good?

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: But why? I don't want to believe that bad states are given by Him. It's clear that for us to grow and to feel that He is the good that does good and is loving. How do I accept Him correctly, the evil that gets revealed from the Creator, from me?

M. Laitman: We need to accept the evil that’s revealed, that it's coming from the Creator. As it's written: “I created the inclination, I created the Torah as a spice because the light in it reforms.” Therefore, we need our evil inclination, the evil, the Klipot, all sorts of such awakenings that seemingly don't relate to the Creator. So that above them to constantly, constantly increase our connection and to try to form such a structure of connection between us that will completely reveal the Creator.

Question (Women MAK): But after all, He's the good that does good, and I don't want to blame Him for giving this evil to me. It's as if inside of me, and He's not evil, He's the good  that does good. So, in order to come to this realization that the Creator has given it to me, I don't want to blame him.

M. Laitman: He made it on purpose so that we would get confused – so that we would need him to help us, so that we would aspire to reveal the Creator, specifically in spite of our egoistic desires.

Question (Women MAK 104): (05:35) We, in our group, every day in our prayers, we praise the Creator and we believe that He is the good that does good. We annul ourselves before the spirituality and we want to serve the Creator. Is it our spiritual achievement?

M. Laitman: It's not yet spiritual attainment but it's already a certain spiritual force toward which you aspire, and you accumulate between you and your connections. And basically, it will turn into a common force, a general one, which will pull you out of the ego.

Question (Turkiye 2): (06:32) What is the holiness in this secrecy?

M. Laitman: The Creator who is concealed, in other words, meaning the concealment covers him. This means that He gets covered by the concealment from us.

Question (KabU 14): (07:10) If one makes a restriction and receives only those desires that he can bestow. But nothing stays under this restriction, an empty place. What is in this empty place, is that the praise of the Creator, the fear of the Creator?

M. Laitman: In that place is the Creator, we probably just need to make another action that reveals Him. And then we'll have the Creator who is revealed out of the darkness – out of the concealment, that's what we need to do.

Student: A man reveals a certain desire and he wants to correct it. For it to become for the sake of bestowal. How do we ask correctly in regards to a specific desire?

M. Laitman: It's possible to do that in a form that the Creator gives us the desire and also arranges our attitude to the desire, meaning the intention. He should think that it's the Creator doing an exercise with him so that he will try to reveal, specifically, the concealment to reveal by relating to the Creator, one against the other needs to be here. We also have such exercises in life, that I feel that the Creator is concealed from me. What's happening to me by also concealing myself towards the Creator is minus with another minus leading to a plus.

Question (Women MAK 62): (11:42) I also have this question around the same excerpt:

The constriction has occurred and light does not shine in full measure on our earth. It's interesting, it's peculiar to me, where does the Divinity dwell in this empty place? And what possibility is there to reveal this concealment?

M. Laitman: First of all, our world is not empty, all of the souls are in it, and they are interconnected, all of them. Besides that, the fact that we're interconnected between us, it speaks of the fact that the upper light is in us. The whole question is just in how do we reveal it? So, Godliness, the Creator that formed it, He also made the concealment, and then it turns out that that we on the one hand are in concealment. And on the other hand, we're in revelation.

These states – revelation and concealment – can be with each and every one, meaning if we feel a descent, that spirituality does not attract us. And Godliness, in this way, does not shine and it cannot obligate the world and all the people that it wants to fulfill. Meaning, Godliness, by Itself, made a concealment over Itself. This is all done so that a person would have the need to make the revelation over the Creator. If a person does not believe that it's the Creator doing that, he leaves spirituality and returns to the corporeal life. But if he, nonetheless, tells himself that it's not me but, rather it's the Creator that made it so, so that I won't leave Him. So that I'll hold on to Him with my arms and legs, then it turns out that he's not escaping the campaign. But rather he obligates the Creator to come and to bring him closer and to come closer to him.

Student: (16:13) I'm just in awe and trepidation; such a speech from you touched me to the bottom of my heart. And sensitivity is developed in me, and I don't even have thoughts. There Is None Else Besides Him. We stand on this path, and we think that everything depends on our yearning to unite more and more to help our friends. Such a big and great case. We love you, Rav, let the Creator bless you!

M. Laitman: Thank you.

Question (Women MAK 43): (17:06) If the feeling of “I” is an obstacle against the full adhesion to the Creator, so can a true love exist? If the one who loves disappears in the process or he stays?

M. Laitman: The egoistic “I” disappears.

Student: There are two I’s? There's an egotistical I that wants for itself and there's and I that feels as empty, filled with love. Is this a correct feeling?

M. Laitman: Let's say so.

Question (Kyiv): (18:02) When a Kabbalist chooses from the descent that everything comes out of the Creator and is given to him for the sake of ascent. At what moment does a Kabbalist make this choice out of descent?

M. Laitman: Maybe out of the descent or maybe on a regular level when he doesn't have such descents or ascents; but it's accepted through a person's decision.

Student: What's this internal movement that a Kabbalist performs in order to switch himself towards the Creator. From a state when you maybe do not feel Him or you think that it's from Him but you don't feel Him clearly, for example? What's the inner movement when you can switch yourself towards the connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: That happens when a person understands that everything that happened to him happened due to the Creator. And now it's time for him to make his own action of a movement towards the Creator and in this way he acts.

Student: Does a kabbalist make this decision that I'm forcefully dragging myself into the state of connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How do you do that, forcefully put yourself into the state of connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: These are the very same exercises that we do each time. The Creator gives us these exercises on purpose to confuse us, to cool us off. And we are the opposite, we aspire to Him and we want to rise to Him.

Student: How do you do that when you can just pull yourself by the hair and just pick yourself up towards the Creator, to a degree higher than where you are right now. How do I do that? I ask friends for help, we have to create a certain force together for it to elevate us.

M. Laitman: We create a force to ask all together that we want the Creator to raise us to Him; we want to hold on to each other and to Him.

Student: How do we make this prayer truly work because we write down a prayer every morning with the friends but how can we truly focus this prayer so it would elevate us?

M. Laitman: What do you need for that? I don't see that you are so needy of that. We need to spur each other on, to tease even. Annoy so that in each one there will be a desire to rise up and to pull everyone after oneself, it's like rising up a hill, and then we will get an answer from the Creator which will surely form us.

Student: Can kabbalists in a group of Ten, as you say, fire each other up? Can they fire each other up to such an extent that they would just switch? They would perform this elevation in a certain period of time during the lesson, during the Congress?

M. Laitman: Of course they can do that, they do, do that. It just seems that I can do it in one action and that's not true. Here, we bump into problems which need to be resolved in every moment of time and to divide this spiritual action according to the possibilities in a very clear way.

Student: What does it mean to separate this movement according to possibilities?

M. Laitman: Meaning to the extent that we can pay more attention to it in order to be in the qualities of bestowal and to always ask for to ask for the Creator to provide it to us.

Question (Kyiv): (23:45) You also brought an example of elevation in the mountain. And there is such a phenomenon when you are in a high altitude, there is a lack of air and it's cold. And a person does not even feel that it gets cold and he’s dying and there is this paradox, people get undressed. We can know the same phenomena from the concealment.

I don't feel any suffering and I don't want to elevate. We say that we don't strive towards suffering, that we strive towards unity but if I'm not suffering, I won't want to elevate myself. How do I break this vicious circle, cycle?

M. Laitman: The rest of the friends will help you with that. When you feel yourself in an ascent, out of you being connected to them, you will feel yourself also on the decline. And here, a desire to connect with them will surely come to you and to rise together with them.

Question (Asia): (25:29) What does it mean when you saw my back side and not my face?

M. Laitman: The face of the Creator is the upper light, the quality of bestowal, love, all the best to everyone. And on the back side of the Creator is the opposite, that a person cannot see anything good there. Our whole path is by us needing to reveal the good and to run away from the bad, that's what's happening.

Student: It is written that you won't see my face because of fear. If we say that the face is the good of the Creator, why is it written that you won't see my face?

M. Laitman: Until we reach equivalence of form – face to face – then we need to be in the different revelation of discernments. And to come closer to Him only as it is written, face to face.

Question (Women Azerbaijan): (27:46) How can we make efforts from concealment and adhere to the Creator? For it not to be for myself, not because I feel myself bad, but specifically how do I tune my self-intention because the desire to receive is pulling?

M. Laitman: Then, you need to think of how you can relate to the friends only out of mutual help to them.

Student: Do it for the friends, so that I wouldn't fall and I would be adhered to them so for this obstacle not to separate me from them?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What kind of state is it if in our world, factually, there are certain circumstances that make me sad. But I understand that at this moment it's incorrect, and I don't justify the Creator, and I'm not sure that He's Good, that He Does Good, and I understand it and I'm still grateful towards Him. And still, this fact of the sadness just sits inside. On the one hand it torments me, why I'm not thinking about the Creator but I think about this issue. But I have this confusion in my feelings. What kind of state is that? What should I do with it?

M. Laitman: It's a state that's sent to you by the Creator and you need to ask over it your reaction, and then everything will turn out well, properly.

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (29:37) If the Creator takes a Ten from a person, distances a person from a Ten, what does the Creator want to tell to a person by this and to the whole Ten?

M. Laitman: That in this form, He doesn't want to bring him closer to Himself.

Student: The whole Ten, could it be the whole Ten? Can you give advice to a friend?

M. Laitman: The advice to the friend is for her to show everyone that she is ready simply to die just to come out of this egoistic state. And to think only about the others, about the friends and about the Creator.

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (30:41) You said to the previous friend that we ask for a reaction and what kind of reaction are we asking for, specifically?

M. Laitman: We ask for a reaction that the Creator awaits from us.

Student: We don't need to understand, specifically?

M. Laitman: No.

Question (Women Europe 5): (31:10) I heard that when we address the Creator in a prayer, by this, we also gradually reveal Him. Does the Creator need us to ask Him, does He want to be revealed by us? We also want to come closer to Him, who needs it more? Why is it so complicated if we both want it?

M. Laitman: Because what for, what's the reason? You want, and He wants? When this matches, then you will be striving towards Him and He will be striving towards you.

Student: But He will not change anything, we need to change it first to fall into place with Him. It turns out it's all the intention, yes?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 19): (32:10) You spoke about that readiness to die, is readiness to die that an egoistic desire? It seems like, in the feelings, it's opposite to the feeling of gratitude. Or what is it?

M. Laitman: Readiness to die: What for, who's it for? You have to scrutinize it all.

Student: We always feel the Creator's love, especially through you in the lessons, and we want to be grateful, not just verbally. In this new year, what actions do you expect of us as a Ten? Through you to the Creator?

M. Laitman: In the new year, and same as last year and same way as a hundred years ago and 150 years ago. The same circumstances, the same conditions, for us to wish to help each other, to elevate towards the Creator. Rise to the Creator in order to bring Him contentment, in order for Him to feel joy because of us.

Student: Can we say that we already grew up a bit but, nonetheless, for the Creator we're the same children? How do we grow up a little bit more, become more responsible?

M. Laitman: It depends on how responsible you're going to be before the Creator for your actions to get friends closer to Him.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (34:19) What does the Creator want to teach a person when He takes him through a state double concealment?

M. Laitman: He wants to show a person that there are states that are so distant and far from the Creator that a person sees them as darkness – as awful darkness of the night.

Question (Women MAK 51): (34:53) What does revelation of the Creator between us mean? How do we feel it?

M. Laitman: The revelation of the Creator between us is when everyone sees in the others the Creator that is getting revealed in front of them.

Student: When we are still not on the spiritual degrees, can we already reveal Him, or not?

M. Laitman: No, no, how? Only if we unite and we want our unity to show the Creator for every one of us. Under this condition the Creator is revealed.

Student: Meaning all these things that we have, each one that came to Kabbalah had all sorts of connections with the Creator. These are all false?

M. Laitman: We'll see it later; basically, in reality, yes.

Question (Women MAK 98): (36:24) What is the difference between a concealment and a descent, or are they the same?

M. Laitman: There is no connection between concealment and a descent, there’s no connection. Concealment is a is an action from the Creator – that He is concealed. And a descent is the result of a concealment that a person finds himself in after the fact that the Creator has concealed Himself from him. We need to immediately start asking the Creator to elevate us and get us closer to Him and this way would let us rise from the concealment.

Question (Women Italy): (37:30) How do we reveal the glory of the Creator when it is hidden from us?

M. Laitman: According to the law of similarity of forms to an extent that we want to come closer to the Creator or get us closer to Him. As much as we want to realize this, then we will see that through this we make the Creator closer to us.

Question (MAK 39): (38:28) During the descent a lot of questions come up. There is this emptiness in man's soul. Does that mean that all of the questions that were in the soul, or from the articles, that it's filled up with the Creator. After a person comes out of a descent, then all those questions seemingly the internal ones they're realized in practice in the Ten, of course.

M. Laitman: Absolutely right.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (39:21) You spoke previously that a person can do such a reverse exercise that if the Creator conceals Himself from me, then maybe I will also conceal myself from Him, and I'll start to examine it. How do we do that, what does it mean that I conceal myself from him?

M. Laitman: That I do towards the Creator all the actions I perform that can reveal myself towards the Creator. Try acting this way and you will see what kind of feeling you receive as a response.

Student: “The whole earth is full of His glory”, can you explain that?

M. Laitman: It means that the Creator fills the whole reality, the whole reality.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (41:04) I don't quite understand what you meant to reveal myself to the Creator.

M. Laitman: That we want to reveal ourselves towards the Creator our desires, our intentions, our thoughts, that's it.

Student: Meaning our efforts to resemble and to be in equivalent form with him?

M. Laitman: I don't know but in such a way I can pray to him.

Question (MAK 17): (41:50) In this moment of revelation of the Creator happens during a Gathering of Friends?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 97): (42:09) Who, nonetheless, hides if the earth is always full of his glory? Is it the Creator that hides or do we hide the fact that we didn't form bestowing vessels?

M. Laitman: It's the same thing.

Student: In the beginning of the lesson, you said that our world is not empty and that souls live in it. Can we say that we're all friends in a certain sorrow because we appeared in this lowly world?

M. Laitman: Why, are we unlucky because of that? Our world is the lowest but it was created by the Creator in order for us to elevate ourselves from it towards Him. So, we have a great task and we're special – we're all special - so don't say like this, that why did the Creator make it so. He made everything exactly right. We will see it. How all of His goals and actions are fair.

Question (Women French): (43:57) What should a student do in order to form an inner connection with Rav? And for that connection to be so strong that it would be above our bodies in time and for it to be an eternal connection And to try to be an extension of one's Rav.

M. Laitman: It only depends on you, if you are learning what I teach and you are thinking like I do and try to reveal the Creator. We'll succeed and we will be together.

Question (Women French): (44:51) This morning, you said that we can speed up the state of the world through our connection. Do you think that if we use the holidays and at the end of the lesson, we do a common prayer, will it help to change things?

M. Laitman: If anything can help, then only the prayer. And if we want to unite and to pray from our unity towards the Creator, this is what we need. And nothing except for it will help us.

Question (Women Spain): (46:00) If the Creator's goodness is revealed in His face. His front side, but it's written that we won't see it. Then why do we need to adhere to the Creator in order to reveal His face?

M. Laitman: We want to come to the adhesion, face to face, with the Creator, His face in our face, one to one. And we really will be bestowed with the fact that we have this adhesion.

Question (Women MAK 113): (47:04) If we already have the feelings that the Creator is The Good That Does Good, then in the group we need to make ourselves like these mini-Creators, and to relate to each other in this way, and also towards the whole world Kli, and to express this outwardly. Or do I understand this very childishly?

M. Laitman: It is a little childish but, basically, it has to be like this. We all have to reach this state.

Question (Women Moscow 4): (47:53) In the beginning of the lesson, I heard you say that you don't feel the desire to rise and that we need to spur each other on so that desire will appear. I don't quite understand how we do that from the right point of connection and not as it normally comes out from the personal ego. How do we do this correctly?

M. Laitman: We gradually do it, perform it day by day, step by step forward when we study our materials. Even yourself, you do not notice how you change daily.

Student: Nonetheless, when we meet the Ten and do such actions, it's clear without asking help from the Creator, we cannot do it. But these actions still need to come out of a tease or a spur, the Ten for it not to come out of one friend. But how do we do it correctly?

M. Laitman: Gradually, slowly, you enter this work; the Creator is controlling all of this.

Question (Women Moscow 6): (49:35) Today, we heard about the possibility that opens up in front of us each one received the importance of it. But how do we truly answer to the Creator for our actions?

M. Laitman: What possibility are you talking about?

Student: That now is a special time and the holidays that are starting and this opportunity that's in front of the Bnei Baruch group and towards the whole world, this responsibility.

M. Laitman: Yes, we have a special opportunity to unite and reveal the Creator in the connection between us, to hang tight onto Him and do a step towards His palace. And I'm inviting you into this!

Student: How do we not miss that opportunity, so that we won't even have these thoughts or anything that will pull us away?

M. Laitman: Hold tight onto me.

Question (Women MAK 56): (50:54) During the obstacle, can I ask the Creator what response He is expecting for me?

M. Laitman: You can ask it, not necessarily during an obstacle; in any way, in any moment you can ask the Creator for this.

Student: But how do we clearly grasp His answer and not just my own mind?

M. Laitman: Don't do anything else, ask to understand His obstacles correctly and come to the right conclusion. And to detect His joy in this right answer of yours.

Question (Women MAK 62): (51:56) The kids that are disabled, just two of them, this comes from the Creator. It's not a punishment, right? Does it relate to spiritual development?

M. Laitman: It's all for the good, there are cases like this and there's a lot of them, in Kabbalah we study them. We will soon come to this and then she will see that where she thinks that there is a woe, in reality it's a blessing that has been poured onto her from above.

Question (Women MAK 25): (53:10) When a state of concealment happens, our efforts can help us to return back to the connection with the other and through the connection to the Creator?

M. Laitman: When we have concealment, we wish to increase the connection with the friends, with the group and with the Creator.

Student: Can this effort be expressed, materially?

M. Laitman: You can do whatever you want.

Question (Women MAK 36): (54:00) You said to hold on to you. How do we hold on to you and support you and give to you?

M. Laitman: Only through holding onto each other and the Creator, and that you wish to be together always. And in the center of all this for the Creator to dwell, to hold us.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (54:32) When I lower my head, what was concealed is revealed to me at the level of desire, the motivation behind my desire. And there's also this understanding of double concealment. But here it's written that the Creator formed the concealment so that a need for the revelation would form in me. Does this revelation not diminish the concealment, does the concealment always remain? Are these like the wings of revelation or does the concealment disappear and everything becomes clear afterwards and understood?

M. Laitman: What do you think?

Student: I think that the concealment does not disappear, even when there is revelation.

So, it turns out that the main work is in double concealment?

M. Laitman: Why double concealment?

Student: It's in my feelings that there are two levels of nullification.

M. Laitman: It's not what it talks about.

Student: So, these are just similar words not necessarily in the same

M. Laitman: Yes, yes. Absolutely right.

Question (Women MAK 26): (56:11) In the article, Rabash says that if a person does not believe that within the concealment there is Godliness, then he escapes the campaign. We all seemingly understand and believe this but why is it so hard to carry out in practice?

M. Laitman: What is hard to carry out?

Student: To believe that within the concealment there is Godliness.

M. Laitman: I don't think that it's hard.

Student: Who does this concealment, who makes it?

M. Laitman: It's a special action of the Creator and the other special action will be His revelation. The former and the latter are performed by Him.

Student: We understand that, Rav, we studied these things at the very beginning, and we understand all this. But why can't we just reveal things once? Why is there a need for other things?

M. Laitman: Nothing else is needed, just the correct prayer. Just a correct plea to the Creator for Him to remove this concealment, that's it. And when you feel that everything is revealed in front of you, you will be shocked from what you can see and feel and fulfill yourself with. It will just fill you and elevate you, as if you became an air balloon.

Question (Women MAK  43): (58:15) Why is a descent perceived as a complete disconnection from the light? A person in the descent can see the light, if there is faith that There Is None Else Besides Him?

M. Laitman: Because in the descent a person becomes more distant from the Creator.

Student: If he has the faith that there is none else besides Him, then he nonetheless can feel it, that it is beneficial to him?

M. Laitman: If he can feel in the descent that there is none else besides Him, then it is not a descent.

Student: It just seems so to him?

M. Laitman: Read more materials, read everything, all these articles that we are going through. This class, everything, it has to collect in you. We have to just pour it outside.

Be healthy. All the best.
