*Ushpizin Isaac - S’phirat Gevurah - Excerpts from the Sources*

1. Rav’s Introduction: It's difficult to construct  everyday lesson on the topic absorbing a new quality to our great group. And this can bring confusion at least to some of our friends. But we don't have any choice to study Ushpizin in the evening since only part of our friends enjoy. Hence, we will study both in the evening and in the morning. We would have at least an initial understanding, acquaintance with those qualities we need to work with, qualities that are in us. Except, we need to organize them, take them out of concealment. Each and everyone has preparations for it and to work with it. They work with these qualities, these virtues that we call them Sephirot or seven virtues Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod Yesod Malchut or Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moshe, Aaron, Yosef, David. 

The work is really our entire work and we come to a tight-knit network that holds everyone in spite of the opposing measures.  We understand specifically, because they're opposing qualities and forces. We are the creatures that are included specifically, then we can feel ourselves existing independently. We can determine the feeling in our intellect, we can organize connections between us, and to be connected around these qualities, in one network. Then we're allowed the upper forces Keter, Chochmah, Binah, to appear inside these qualities Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Malchut.  This is our work so let's start learning about these qualities that exist in each one of us. 

That's why all these qualities are called Avot, fathers or patriarchs because they are the foundations of nature, who simply uncover them and learn how to use them correctly. Certainly each quality is different from the other qualities, it has states and qualities of its own that are positive or negative and then each one something is lacking something is special. We just need to understand how they should be connected. What form, what style, what intensity. So that we would construct the connection between them such that everything everywhere we will be connected in the optimal way and we will give the Creator the ability to reveal himself in us, to spread in us and by that we will delight him, as we call it in order to bestow. 

So our work is to learn about these qualities Chesed Gevurah Tiferet, Neztach Hod Yesod Malchut (CHGTNHYM) and to create a template of such a connection between them, so the Creator will be able to reveal himself. The upper light will fill them and we’ll be able to feel how much we are able to bestow to him. From that we'll have all the pleasure from the Creator, the feeling of the Creator and our whole world. Everything that we will obtain from the clothing of the Creator in us, all of it will be called the upper world, spiritual world and that's how we will advance. Meaning what we're learning with you right now, in the Ushpizin, the guests in receiving the Sephirot in us correctly observing these qualities correctly. We're learning how to build the spiritual Kli how to build our soul so the Creator will be able to fill it, to be there in adhesion with us.

 We from the side of the qualities we are compiling and He from the side of fulfillment  so that there's connection between us, needs in these seven qualities, needs to be suitable to the upper light until we reach the end of correction. We realize all those seven qualities in a way, that all of them, each one 100%. Connection between them - give us the quality of bestowal from Keter, Chochmah and Binah and then we are in the final adhesion of the Creator. Today, we're working with the Ushpizin Isaac. That's what it's called, where do we get those names from.  We will learn about it later as well because they're not names of people, these are names of forces. Where the nature of the force the unique combination in it makes it that's how it's expressed through that name. We will learn about it. It's a deeper, more advanced study, so that each position of Isaac.

1. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 316 Adam HaRishon – 2

Abraham went on the right, the correction of the quality of Hesed [mercy], meaning that he wants Hassadim [pl. of Hesed]. For this reason, from the quality of Hassadim, he extends Dvekut [adhesion] with the Life of Lives.

However, Isaac went on the left line, called Gevura, to work in Hitgabrut [overcoming] the vessels of reception so as to work in order to bestow.

And because he was working on the left, to see his situation within reason, he sees the faults and the state of separation, since in the state of the left, a person is in a state of deficiency while the Creator is called “whole,” and “The cursed does not cling to the Blessed.”

For this reason, Isaac had to be included with Abraham. This is why it was written, “Abraham begot Isaac.” Although everyone knows this, but it teaches us that in the quality of Isaac, who is “left,” there is also the quality of “right,” which is Hesed, and from there it receives life. Jacob is the middle line, so he certainly contains Hassadim.

Meaning Abraham did not work with vessels of reception, he was above it which we learned yesterday, Chesed does not make any calculation, just to bestow to everyone as much as possible, to prepare for everyone as much as possible, if a person is good or bad it doesn't matter I relate to everyone only in Chesed.  Where in Isaac he overcomes himself meaning he already introduced into his attitude towards others his desire, his resistance to his desire and he builds the quality of bestowal and he continues like Abraham. By relating his nature to what he does to others

2A. R. To what extent can relate or not for the friends , but in activating his own will to receive.

2B. R. Meaning he separates himself from people. He wishes to bestow to them, he feels that they’re not the same.  He doesn't relate to them like Abraham with an open heart, without making any calculation with his desire what he feels inside. No. Only giving potential whereas Isaac adds his will to receive to it - begins to feel different forms of relationships he has with others, and then he needs to change to overcome, to see the distance between them and so on and so forth.

2C. R. Meaning a person who begins to activate his desire, his nature, he sees his difference from the Creator. Abraham is not different; he simply goes with the quality of bestowal. Isaac by activating his nature he sees that he's incompatible with the Creator, it is different, distant, opposite, but that's his quality and what is it good to activate the quality of Isaac?  Well without activating himself, man is not a man,  he's not considered to be acting.

2D.R. One quality pulls behind it the other quality and that's how it works out even if we don't want it, and if we don’t wish to activate the attribute of Isaac. Our ego begins to relate from our nature to others. There's no other choice, that's what we do, like it or not. Therefore, we see people sometimes come to us. They want to be integrated with us, they want to be good with us, So we'll accept them, good and well, quickly, so they activate only the quality of Abraham.  Remember, Niv, how beautiful you were, pretty, all white and later man's nature begins to rear its head to reveal itself as it exists in everyone and it's natural. It is correct, this is the form of development. So Isaac had to be integrated in Abraham and that's why it says Abraham begat Isaac.

2E. R. Meaning he comes out of the right, he is born of the right, when the person develops the quality of Chesed, Abraham naturally extends the quality of Gevurah, Isaac.

To work on the left in the quality of Isaac means to see how I cannot be like Abraham, like the Creator not being bestowal, pure bestowal, rather I have a will to receive and need to activate it and thanks to the will to receive I can increase the quality of Abraham, so we have a discernment here: Abraham on one hand on the other hand I see my opposition.

2H. R. We have a discernment here who is the Creator and who is man because man begins to feel the difference between right and left, between Abraham and Isaac.

2I. R. Meaning after revealing the gap between the right and the left, what to do then? To integrate, to be included, we will learn what it means to be included.  This quality has to include the other quality - right of the left and left of the right - until they come to all of the state where you find the qualities of the Creator and the qualities of the created being.

3.S. (19:26)  It's unclear how Abraham begets Isaac and how the quality of Chassidim begets something that has a will to receive?  

R. We're not talking about the Creator, we are talking about the action of the Creator created inside the will to receive so it turns out that the upper force that works in the will to receive gradually, it births in the will to receive such actions its bestowal in the will to receive you have Keter, Chochmah and Binah, these three actions are called GAR of the degree. We don't talk about them, at least not now, they are above us. We are starting from Chesed and below when the upper one works in Keter, Chochmah, Binah and enters the will to receive, in it begins to work. We learn from four phases of direct light we have Shoresh Aleph and Bet down to the Chazeh of Binah, it's the upper force that is working without any connection with the creature and only in the degree of Binah we have the beginning of the creature in Chazeh of Binah. Since from that point on we have the desire to receive in order to bestow. Binah is in entirely to bestow, but by rejecting the upper light in four phases of Direct light, it begins to think that in order to influence the Creator it must receive, what else does she have to give, she has nothing else to give, the Creator doesn't have the vessels of reception and then Binah begins to receive. Like the guest sitting with the Host and then he understands that he has nothing to give to the Host.  Rather only by receiving from the Host, he begins to receive, this work already belongs to to the lower one, to the created being. From Binah we get qualities of (CHGTNHYM) as it  belongs to the created being. This first quality that is born, that is felt in the creature comes out in the Creator, is the quality of Chesed, since the upper light is working on the desire is activating in such a way that desire is like the upper light it gives and that's it, it doesn't have any other shape or form this is the quality of Abraham. That's how we learn. Yesterday we talked about what is the quality of Chesed? Which is when he doesn't pay attention to anything that exists in the creatures, inside around him he says only we need to bestow good to one another the good ones, the wicked ones, from the bottom of our heart without any examination, any criticism, restriction, this is the quality of Chesed.  The next development after Binah is the quality of Gevurah, it's the quality of the will to receive a creature that was previously concealed but he's giving, he begins to feel what is working inside of him that I am desire, I am entirely activated from above that it's not me who is working, but bestowal from above.  It works out for us that we are sometimes under the influence of the great person what he's saying what he's influencing us that's what we do we seemingly lose our heads and we just do what that person wants.  This is the quality of Chesed that is working this way and then comes the quality of Gevurah that from this gradually the will to receive in the creature will be revealed. Self check himself, to shows himself to see it compared to the quality of Chesed then the quality of Gevurah is born.  This is the meaning of Abraham giving birth to Isaac and he in this way it begins to reveal himself Isaac meaning the qualities that is found in the will to receive in the creature. This quality is called left because it corresponds to the right, which is Abraham. That's how they coexist one facing the other and after that we have the middle line. We want to somehow equalize, bring closer, connect these two lines, where one is completely to bestow above anything this is Abraham the second one is entirely in and of itself and if it's worthwhile to bestow, why, what for this is the left.  Of course this left is included of Chassidim of Abraham or else he would not be able to feel himself as left, yet feels himself as opposite in opposition to the right. That's why we get until we come to a state where we understand this is the nature of the Creator, Abraham in man, inside the soul and Isaac is the nature of the creature in a person in the soul and we have to reach the correct combination of the two. Where the quality of the creature and the quality of the Creator will complete one another and it happens in the quality of Jacob.

4.S. (27:32) Is there a point in asking which quality is higher between Abraham and Isaac?

R. Jacob is the higher quality because it exists in the creature - it's not higher than Abraham you can say, but because it exists in the creature from the perspective it's more important.  Higher, no, Jacob comes from the combination of Abraham and Isaac, he is called the senior Patriarch. The special one, he's seemingly more than Abraham and Isaac although Abraham is 100% bestowal and Isaac is 100% reception and Jacob is included in both and he's the middle line, meaning the right combination between the two. All these things we are learning for the time being using these definitions, later will learn about more and more and feel where they are inside of us how through them you open the upper force, the Upper light.

5.S.(29:05)  Between Abraham and Isaac is there any comparison?

R. It's all there but we're not going to open it up in one place, but we need to remember and to complete it you should write it down even like the students in a lecture.  Well you have that you have the documents somewhere all the recording of the lesson you'll be able to add to it this additional material. The main thing is for us to be able to create a simulation between you in the group, in the connection this is the most important thing, because from there you'll come to a state where you feel how the upper light according to what's between you and what you're trying to build with the upper light comes, approaches,  moves away, spinning you and then you begin to have spiritual work between the friends and the Creator and you'll feel how he's changing those qualities inside of you being closer, pushing away, in each and every one, and how are you going to get along between the relationships and by that you'll discovered the discernments of the Creator in you, this this is already walking on a spiritual path.

6. S. (30:57)  Why is Isaac senior Patriarch and not Abraham?

R. In Abraham there are no creatures the quality of the creature seemingly did not exist in Abraham, there's a desire to receive in Abraham but the will to receive is activated by the upper light entirely, so we don't have a creature whose working here.  There's the Creator who's working, that's why it's called Chesed, 100% bestowal, pure bestowal. That's why Abraham can start everything, kickstart everything but he could not finish it so you could ask what is the goal of everything? Well the goal is to reveal the great, vicious will to receive, how it's opposite to the Creator completely, and when he assembles himself along with all the other qualities along the way between the light in the vessel, meaning (CHGTNHYM) receive all these qualities and get there in such a way and even though he's bad, he's vicious, cruel, he will act like the Creator in complete adhesion with the host and people need to understand, how to do it yourself out of their own desire. Then a person comes to the height of the Creator, of course in Abraham could not be done there.

5. S.(33:12) I understood correctly, the quality of Chesed is the quality that creates Abraham. Is it the quality that will help us on the spiritual path?

R. We need to learn each and every quality like in ourselves and then make such a mix out of them and all these seven Sephirot, the (CHGTNHYM) in the Partzuf will work in order to bestow that's our work. it's better to hear what I'm saying.

7. S. (34:21) It was said in the text that the right, Chesed, does that mean that he asked for Chassidim?

R.  That's his quality, Chesed, Chassidim, Abraham what we learned last night.

8. S. (34:56) Can you explain Life of Lifes?

R. The Life of Lifes is in order to bestow to the Creator, I am integrated in Him in mutual bestowal, one to the other and as a result we connect, as a result we connect to such an extent that you can't distinguish where is the I and where is the Creator they become as one.  This is the complete adhesion that we need to obtain.  Of course this is realized in the connection between us in the group, in the ten, together with the Creator so there's no difference between all the friends, all the creatures, all the still, vegetative, animate and speaking, it's all included together with the Creator that's filling us. Specifically the upper forces filling us through our efforts to be connected He makes a state such that there's no difference between anyone and we get to a state that we call Hu v’Shmo Haim Echad, He and His Name Are One.

9. S. (36:39) We learned yesterday that the quality of Abraham is bestowing, to the ten without any calculations that I only increase the friends and give to them and do that in the lights. Reforms influence me, change something in me and then the quality of Isaac appears. What exactly do I add in this quality as opposed to the previous quality? What does it mean to add in the desire?

R. We can't do it like you were preparing some food a bit of salt some pepper so on a little bit of Abraham Jacob Isaac, it's not working this way.  We are going in bestowal, the measure of Abraham, will begin to reveal that we are egoist.  Then the quality of Isaac appears in us we need to combine the two, then we come to the quality of Jacob and then that's how we advance. It's all part of the path for the time being let's try to advance. Don't worry, you won't be able to miss it, because we will work with those qualities for a long time.

10. S. (38:23) Are we filling up a quota by connecting and connecting until we fill up a quota until we have the opportunity to upgrade to another quality? Are we filling up a quota here?

R. We're not filling a quota, a certain measure, we're not speaking of such things.  We are only talking about what we're now studying.

11. S. (39:15) Turns out that these qualities in the order of a spiritual work they always have to be in the same order?

R. We will learn how we need to work with them, how we need to manage them, but from the get-go, all these qualities are found in us and we need to activate them.

S. Schematically speaking it turns out that the quality of Abraham is the farthest from Malchut so why is everything starting there?

R. It is closest to the light and the light activates us this way it's a correct question a person is born an egoist understands nothing how come Chesed is starting, it's not starting with Chesed when you're born it's starting with a person who enters the study of Kabbalah and he learns he has to resemble the quality of Sephirah Chesed it's not a natural quality that appears in him it's equality that he should first try to acquire.

S. These Sephirot, these qualities are only in a persons work towards others are all the qualities of the ten?

R. All the Sephirot exist only in the ten so I don't understand your question. What do you think that there's spiritual work elsewhere outside to ten? 

S. I mean is it a level of connection between us or my corrected attitude towards the friends?

R. No it has to be the measure of the connection requires such discernments, that you are doing it by yourself, you can do nothing by yourself, only to build these relationships together with the friends.

12. S. (41:50) The quality of Isaac is the revelation of the will to receive  within the seven Sephirot of Binah?

R. The quality of Isaac is the desire to receive that's revealed between us in our relationship in the ten.  If you know what is Binah I would tell you yes or no but you don't know what is Binah, so why are you asking this way? We are learning everything connected to the action that we need to perform between us. So I wish to hear your question provided they stem from the desire to be in the correct connection between you otherwise you will just be some theory and we will not know what we are speaking about we will always get confused and have to go somewhere, through all of our qualities, all of us together and everyone. We need to try and see the connection between us and only there inside the ten.  There we realize it from there we take questions. It should be extremely practical. you're already in the last generation you must realize those things.  Don't ask me if it's in Binah or Chochmah or what as if you have a feeling and understanding some grasp of Binah or Chochmah you don't.  But you have a ten, so check it in the ten, what qualities are at work there, what are you lacking in being connection, as much as possible for the time being, tightly connected with the friends. If you attain a certain closeness with the friends, you'll feel the Creator there, something from it. Some form of revelation, what do you need? You're asking me theoretically what it is. I'm telling you not just for you but for everyone okay.

13. S. (44:52) We're talking about the qualities and there's the story about the old Hillel who doesn't have a left line and that's why the book of Shamati came to you, so some people who don't have the left line, what is their essence?

R. Who are you asking about Abraham or Isaac?

S. Abraham if he pure good and loves and connects with everyone?

R. It's a quality that exists in each in everyone except we haven't discovered it yet that's why we need to discover this quality. Friends in the group and from its revelation, to check the measure to see what can be done and then we begin to work in the right way and then we'll feel that this is coming from our will to receive and our will to receive will begin to heal itself, this is the meaning of Abraham and when we discover this quality between us, we will be able to see how it is possible to combine them in the right way and then Abraham and Isaac beget or give birth to Jacob and so forth.

14. S. (46:53) In this excerpt we talked about the expansion from above downwards if I understand now we're in Sukkot we are building the thatch, how does it connect from below upwards?

R. Once we want to build a ten a soul, we want to discover the qualities of the soul, so we have constructed the connection we've created concealment from the Creator towards us, we don't want to receive his revelation but only according to our equivalence meaning we are under Schach the thatched roof we are expecting the beginning of our connection to the Creator according to our equivalence of form, because we are in the complete vessel and good correct vessel we are under the Masach the screen, Tzimtzum restriction.  Gradually we begin to work with our will to receive, so it won't be egoistic but rather will be in bestowal as much as possible this is what we're discovering in the connection between us.  Under the screen we discover the quality of Abraham, mutual bestowal we relate gently to each other in bestowal, we want to touch each other in a good and pleasant way. Because these are the good qualities of my soul I need to discover.  I don't look at their faces whether each and every one the Creator assembled and you'll know what to do. He gathered us according to our inner qualities according to our revelation, now we need to advance in such a way of courting the upper light, will gradually expose connections between us.  Yesterday we try to reveal such a connection between us called Chesed it's only good it's only beautiful, between us, without any criticism or anything the Creator arranged it for us to be here as it says the Creator takes a person's hand and on the good fortune and says take it.  So I'm receiving the friends for some reason I ended up between them and I accept them with a whole heart. I want to give them everything I got as it should be in the spiritual ten, this is the measure of Abraham or the quality of Chesed, understand this is quality where I relate to the friends in this way it's not enough. I also need to add my own forces. We sometimes have such a states where we have this upper inspiration we're willing to give so beautiful, us under the rule of the upper light,  now we need to bring to the connection between us and the ten our own participation. Our participation this is called Isaac where I with my will to receive I must enter into the strengthen the connection between us the connection with Abraham is a passive connection comes from above and it connects us.  Just like sometimes we have such a feeling in the group where we're as if on a cloud but now yet we want to use our forces to strengthen the connection between us. When we discover a little bit our will to receive in order to connect us, already there are distances and differences and we want to organize these distances between us, This is called Isaac, who is working, a special force in each and everyone of you.

14A. R. Abraham is a person, each and everyone. Issac is a person in us, the Adam in us, human. He appears one way and then another way, relative to the connection with the friends, and from them, together with them to the Creator.

R.  We will learn about this. If this is not clear, I’m willing to answer it. But not anything else, but only how are we working in the group with these forces because we don't have anything else.

15. S. (55:23) Can we develop the quality of Isaac which is Gevurah in the ten, or it grows in each and everyone in the 10?

R. We need to develop the quality of Abraham until the quality of Isaac is emerged from it, revealed from it,  this is the meaning of Abraham begat Issac.

16. S. (56:11) How do we practically realize these qualities in the ten?

R. We need to think about it, what and how you can talk, you can do whatever you want as long as between, you begin to activate the forces of bestowal, the forces of love. Forces that you want to keep as close as possible to the Creator that is revealed in such forms. Of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and so on you have to do it practically - you only need to try, and I understand it's difficult or unclear or undesirable but there's no other choice. If you want to enter the feeling of the upper world, you need to equip yourself with these qualities otherwise you cannot feel that already we're in the upper, building - it’s concealed.  We don't have the qualities suitable to reveal them. Like a baby he's together with us in the same world, but sometimes the grown ups are speaking about something and this child is looking at them and he doesn’t understand what they’re talking about. We’re the same, we're in the upper world but we don't feel it since the feeling of the upper world depends on the degree of our equivalence of form.

S. If Isaac, the left line shapes the ten, does it mean he can also include coercion in a person?

R. No. Isaac is a force that can join bestowal, it is impossible for Isaac to cause any harm.  It brings the ten it’s own desire to receive. Which is arranged to control it - to bestow. It’s not that there’s something there that can erupt and cause damage, no.  It comes from the will to receive, but afterwards, the will to receive, it causes only closest closeness and connection.

17. S. (59:30) How is it possible for the quality of Isaac to be revealed above the Tzimtzum ?

R. The quality of Isaac is revealed above the restriction because when the will to receive comes: and it doesn't come to interfere, rather it comes after it's being processed into in order to bestow. 

18. S. (1:00:08) Issac worked in  overcoming the will to receive the vessels of reception. What is this work in the 10?

R. Even with your ego, you are working in order to be connected and connecting everyone in the 10 in the right way. Even your will to receive, you ego - is working in the right direction

19.. S. (1:00:41) This quality is within the friends or? 

R. These qualities: Abraham Isaac Jacob Moses Aaron Joseph David  - these are qualities in our soul. Those are qualities of our will to receive who wants to bestow, who wants to bestow and acquire such forms, such modes and that's how they're called: using these names Abraham Isaac Jacob so on and so forth. They're not people, God forbid, these are qualities. They appear in a personal manner in each and everyone, but also in some special combination of the group. So we have to discover and learn about it.

20. S. (1:02:07) About the revelation of the quality of Gevurah, I want to give an example in the ten. Some friends I can connect with and work with them. I only feel Chesed, everything above reason. The moment I discover a friend that I can't connect to and I feel resistance to him - is that the revelation of this quality appears between us?

R. No, and we'll talk about it - not like that.

21. S. (1:02:52) You explain before the difference between Abraham and Isaac when you gave an example about Nieve. You said that at first he came all pure and white and good. And then something else appeared. Is that a very tangible example, can you give more details?

R. No I can't elaborate, everyone sees it he comes to a new group. At first in Chesed because then it’s certain they're not going to reject him. He can come in there and he's not disturbing anyone. Later everything begins to recognize the situation, that his ego begins to rise -  it's natural. Then the quality of Gevurah needs to be revealed.

S. When you discover the quality of Gevurah, how do you not erupt and do harm?

R. We need to reach a state where the most important thing is the connection between us that is aimed at the revelation of the Creator, resembling the Creator. That’s what is leading us forward. It can't be that any quality, in the desire that will be revealed, is not going to be towards moving forward to resemble the Creator. If it's the opposite it means that we are in incorrect actions from above: they reveal it to us so we'll be able to correct it.

22. S. (1:04:37)  What is demanded from the ten to be worthy of begetting Issaac?

R. Only connection in the ten, we really need to relate to everyone like Abraham - just like Abraham then on the way all the discernments will   all come out and they're lower than Abraham. Because in all those forms the will to receive is already mixed in a little bit. But in truth, activate only the quality of Abraham. Don't start to artificially awaken your ego yet. On the degrees of Abraham, Issac, David, Yosef, Moshe, - those are very heavy vessels. Davis Malchut, a big will to receive - very big it's like David for years was waging wars. He was constantly in problems and troubles. His height was reaching Keter but very tough states. We will learn about these things but it's only for the sake of study in potential. We're not able to be in the state of David - it's completely removed from us - opposite to us. According to the great will to receive that was revealed in him, he was in adhesion with the Creator, the  wholeness of the Creator. This is the state of David, something very special. So you can see that he wrote psalms. This is the complete light in it, it's not vessels, it's not states - it’s revelation of the light itself. Why am I speaking about it, let's not jump ahead. Right now we're talking about Isaac, a little bit of the revelation to receive, trying to be like Abraham. Let’s learn these things, a little bit from here, a little bit from there.

S. The question is only if it's a privilege or is something demanded from us in order for the new quality to up here?

R. We will work in order to bestow, between the friends and from the friends to the Creator and these things will appear in us by themselves if we do it correctly.

23. S. (1:08:05) Is studying the qualities in a deeper understanding of them - will it help us feel better and working, more on the connection, finding new and more accurate right ways of working on connection?

R. Yes, if you're speaking about the quality of Abraham, Chesed- Chesed means a generous hand you give to everyone. It's called Chesed: without any difference, without any disturbance: you give to everyone.  This is Abraham. Gevurah, it's not anymore according to how close or how far with certain restrictions - who do you give more to, who do you give less to. This is Gevurah, this is where our will to receive is involved. Tiferet balances the quality of the Creator which is Abraham with the quality of the created being which is Isaac. This is called Jacob, that's how we're working. Our work, its purpose is to reach to a state where all the qualities in our will to receive in the creature will be revealed and support the entire will to bestow to the Creator. Then we will discover the Creator to the extent he is revealed towards us - we will increase it and amplify it 620 times more. Using our will to receive meaning specifically, our will to receive is helping us to grow, to open up, open up the Creator to all of creation 620 times more. Hence we need to see in our will to receive help against, meaning he's against the Creator. He only wants to receive from Him and enjoys receiving, but by turning it into in order to bestow - he participates in bestowal. Specifically from that the Creator's bestowal is revealed in such a great way. 

24. S. (1:11:45) In the inner work the quality of Chesed is felt as if I will be more focused in restriction of my ego. Then I’ll be broader, wider. And the will to receive always grows and I'll be more focused on the prayer to the Creator - that He'll give me the force of overcoming above the will to receive that grows?

R. In practice you're trying to constantly be the bestower, and there comes a time where you see that with your will to receive, you can even perform acts of bestowal-  that's how it happens. 

25. S. (1:12:58) We start working from this quality, the quality of Chesed, love between us where we are always in this direction. What does it mean that the Creator also gives the quality of Gevurah, Isaac - how does it come down to us?

R.  This awakens from within, it doesn't come from above, from somewhere. It awakens from within. Also when we say that the Creator is bringing this to us from above, our will to receive awakens from Below - we feel it erupting from within. So the more pained that we are -  the rest of the correction we discover. That in the connection between us it begins to be revealed. It begins to include the will to receive as well.

S.  How can this desire to receive be used constructively, according to the same approach of Abraham-  how to see that the will to receive can be used together with Abraham?

R.  This is simple, if I am  in contact with my friends I begin to understand in order to bestow from them I also need to receive from them - because they also want to bestow. How will we enter a ten, how  do we enter that additional connection between us? By giving to others and receiving from others. We begin to activate here our vessels of reception which tie us even more.

S. The default is when I am in the quality of Love toward the friends, I am starting to add a scrutiny, what can I add of myself to strengthen it?

R.  You begin to feel it by yourself that if you're not receiving from others then you can't do good to them since you must receive from them as well, only to bestow means that you're not in connection. Connection has to be a mutual thing, I to my beloved and my beloved to me.

S.  It turns out that you said that it is realized between us in the ten, by everyone or each one in a different format?

R. Each one is in his own qualities but everyone is aimed at the greater connection between them.

26. S. (1:16:29)  The quality of Isaac you said, it is a quality of reception I need to receive from the friends, it is not the same as criticism that appears after we are in bestowal?

R.  No criticism, rather I want to connect with the friends in different ways, I give to them I receive from them and by that we gradually are developing the connection between us. A tighter connection so Isaac means that the will to receive is revealed, one that is qualified for connection and Jacob is the realization of both of them together, Abraham and Isaac.

S.  So what we call the will to receive, the criticism appears before the entrance of the system?

R.  It'll come clear, will read a few more excerpts and it will be clear.

2. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 97. Waste of Barn and Winery

Sukkot is considered gladness, considered “rejoicing Gevurot,” which is repentance from love, when sins become for him as merits. Then, even the barn and winery are admitted into Kedusha [holiness]. This is the meaning of Sukkot’s primary discernment being Isaac.

27. R. Yes because all of the egoistic powers that are revealed won't need to be revealed in the future all of them through this action called Schach, thatched roof that we try to create from the waste that don't appear so good and beautiful to us.  Because they are qualities of bestowal qualities of connection this is Schach, we want to connect between us in the ten and tie ourselves together in such a way that it will cover us, protect us that it will surround us on all sides.We will be inside this feeling that the most important thing is connection. Although it's not the most important to each one of us individually we build this Sukkah this vessel and then when we begin to discover in the connection between us all these different discernments by Abraham Isaac Jacob Moses Aaron Joseph David, we build from this connection what we call a Sukkah of Peace that expands into all of reality that the Creator created and everybody enters this Sukkah. Everyone enters our desire to connect, each and every ten feels itself connecting to all of the tens until we become one ten and then this ten this unique ten feels all of reality all of the world's everything and enters there.  It's all because the waste of the will to bestow the will to love specifically all the things that we didn't want that we used to build something above our heads and this is how we celebrate Sukkot. Therefore in the end of the six Millennium when we come to the end of correction we see that we have built the Fallen Sukkah of David, Malchut and it is not falling, the Creator is holding it together with us.

This is called “The herdsmen of Isaac,” who wish to serve the Creator with Isaac’s dedication but the body does not agree to it. But when they know that they should serve like Isaac, they are content with it and bless the Creator for it.

Meaning we understand that the overcoming, the great will to receive that awakens between us we get insights and it separates us, according to the upper plan we need those things because we cannot build in the quality of Chesed alone. Us creatures we must add to the connection between us and the Creator our nature. So with that understanding we overcome the will to receive and we share with it, this in order to bestow.

And one is rewarded with everything only by overcoming, called “strength,” and each and every strength that a person elicits joins into a great amount. That is, even if a person overcomes once and gets an alien thought, and says, “But I already know from experience that soon I will not have this desire for the work, so what will I get now if I overcome it a little?”’ At that time, he must reply that many pennies join into a great amount, meaning to the general account, whether to the root of his soul or to the public.

32. R. All of the forces that appear in us we need to organize them toward connection in the ten and the connection of all of humanity because again we are with you in the last phase of the correction called the last generation. So we are starting from the correction of the ten and we conclude with the correction of the ten that includes all of creation in it, all of the worlds, everything.

33. S. (1:25:11) In the quality of Chesed we also overcome the will to receive all the time so what is the addition?

R.  In the quality of Chesed we don't work with the will to receive we simply wish to highlight the quality of Chesed.

34. S. (1:25:41) So in terms of the order of the work we bestow to the ten in terms of Chesed as much as possible until the quality of Isaac is born the aspect of Isaac, then there is overcoming, so what is the means to overcome in order to bestow once again?

R.  When I begin to see that I can cause greater connection between us by using my ego as well, this means that I work with the quality of Isaac.

S.  So the power is already there in terms of Isaac?

R.  This is by starting to be connected with others for the quality of Abraham mutually you begin to see it's not enough you also need to receive not just to give, what can you give? Who will receive? So no one needs it so according to the need you need to continue, extend the connection and start to use the will to receive of each one, otherwise I would not use my will to receive. Or I see that now if I use my will to receive, to receive from others I will be able to come closer to them, I will receive from him he will receive from me on so on, in this way it is give and take and you have connection between us. Without that you can't have it.

S. To make it more practical someone in the ten is in the aspect of Isaac the ten has to give to him in order to...?

R. No this is revealed by itself we don't see those things, each and everyone is working on the qualities that appear in him, most importantly for the sake of the connection. Sometimes each one is going through different states, one-time Abraham, one time Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Joseph, David and each and every one in one moment all of us go through all sorts of states and through that we establish the complete connection between us.

35. S. (1:28:28) What is it in the ten that Abraham delivered Isaac?

R.  From the work that we do in bestowal, mutual bestowal towards one another called the quality of Abraham we begin to understand that we also need to add to it our will to receive. In addition to giving, also receiving, this is the meaning of the quality of Isaac being revealed to us.

36. S. (1:29:22) What is the meaning of the joy in Isaac?

R.  That I start participating and using my qualities in order to strengthen the connection between us, everything always goes towards the connection.

37. S. (1:30:00) To annul in the ten in our work in dissemination, the quality of Isaac toward us and toward the external ones?

R.  You're speaking about dissemination?

S.  Within the ten, when the ten disseminates.

R.  We're not talking about that yet we're talking about connection in the ten.

R.  If it'll help you in the connection with the tens today anything that can add to the connection is blessed.

R.  Yes, that is the illumination of Chochmah that is revealed in the vessels of reception.

S.  To give to the ten do you always have to activate your ego?

R.  How can you give otherwise, if you're giving of yourself you don't have vessels of bestowal.

5. RABASH, Assorted Notes. Article No. 354, "Abraham Gave All that He Had"

And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.” Rabbi Yehuda said, “This is Gevura [strength/judgment].” Rabbi Nehemiah says, “This is a blessing.”

We should understand the following:

1) How can it be said that one gives Gevura to another? This is not something that can be passed on from hand to hand.

2) What is the dispute that one says specifically Gevura and the other says “blessing”? In what are they disputed?

We should interpret that both meant the same thing, and both are the words of the living God. That is, he passed on to him that he will walk in the way of Gevura, as it is written, “And he swore by the fear of Isaac his father.” That is, through the quality of Gevura, this is the meaning of “all that he had,” that Abraham gave him the way by which to walk. And that which he had to complete, by this he was rewarded with the blessing, meaning “and the Lord blessed him.”

In other words, through reinforcement in Torah and work, he was rewarded with repentance from love, when sins became as merits. It follows that his work created a full fruit.

 

40. R. We talked about it by working with his will to receive but he wants to work like Abraham so he raises the work in bestowing even more because he performs it through his will to receive and then in such a way he becomes more and more devoted, greater towards the quality of bestowal. So it turns out that whoever distances himself from the quality of Abraham meaning he has a bigger will to receive but uses it in order to bestow, so he reaches bigger results, greater results.

41. S. (1:35:01) The quality of Gevurah overcoming, by being in the quality of Abraham I begin to connect the will to receive from the friends to overcome myself?

R.  You overcome your will to receive in order to use it in order to bestow, everything that you want to receive you supposedly build a Schach with it and you ascribe it towards connection towards the friends and towards the group. So what is the question?

S.  I thought that when you are in the quality of Abraham the quality of bestowal Chesed, you have to be force yourself to receive from the friends and it's because you put them above you and it's hard to receive from them than to give to them

R. What's more difficult to receive or to give?

S. Yes

R. It's obviously harder to receive that's why it's called the wisdom of Kabbalah because it's the most difficult action, we are all made from the will to receive and we have to organize it in a way that it will be able to receive in order to bestow. That is really difficult work because it is actually entirely all against our nature, why against our nature? If I'm receiving the purpose of creation is that I'm filled with all of the pleasures, but with the intention to bestow it is already completely the quality of the action is opposite.

S.  When you give like Abraham you're great but here, you have to lower yourself to receive from them right, because you're small compared to these great ones?

R. I don't know its calculations once it's this way once it's otherwise.

42. S.  (1:37:44) Are we going to feel Jacob’s quality together collectively or each and every friend on his own?

R.  Every friend reveals that in himself and it could be that we will also reach it in a way that we are connected together. Especially when we start working a ten with a ten between the tens then it is different laws there already.

43. S. (1:38:28) The qualities we are speaking about in the Sephirah this is when the Schach is in place?

R. We are learning about what is happening in the Sukkah, the place where we want to sanctify for the Creator that all of the qualities that we want to receive under the Schach, the Masach  from the light that reforms, that all of these qualities come to us in the Sukkah. We have to start adapting ourselves towards the Creator so this is why Abraham, Isaac, Jacob they are all revealed in the Sukkah, that we prefer working with the waste of Winery and Barn meaning with things that aren't important to us because it is the quality of bestowal.  We want to connect between us and bestow to one another, then when we in the Sukkah want to bestow towards one another. So the question is what is happening to us? How can we reach advancement so they tell us then the quality of bestowal is revealed which is Abraham and then Isaac and we don't or I don't really understand your form of confusion, just get used to it, to all of these states.

44. S. (1:41:25) In the last paragraph of the excerpt we just read it says that the results of overcoming in work, he's rewarded with repentance from love when the sins become as merits to him what are those sins that become merits?

R.  That what you felt before that you did bad things, now you feel or see that specifically by revealing that evil it wasn't evil that had anything to do with you, but you had it from the sin of the tree of knowledge and that is why we now see how all of this revelation of evil is destined for revealing the light. That all of the desires to receive in the end reveal the upper light to us, that is why we are happy by it, that we had such states.

6. RABASH, Assorted Notes. Article No. 356, "A Son Makes the Father Worthy"

The sons come to correct what the parents did not manage to complete. Therefore, when Abraham completed only the quality of Hesed [mercy/grace], afterward Isaac was born in order to complete what was missing. Then, when Isaac completed only the quality of Gevura, Jacob was born, who is the quality of Tifferet, and completed the middle line.

 *45. R. WSQ:* What we have studied so far Abraham and Isaac, now we are gradually reaching Jacob because it is hard to study only one of them without touching the other.  How do we organize these three qualities, a quality means what my will to receive, when it changes by connecting with the friends and the light that reforms that comes to me through the connection with the friends.  How can I, by through these qualities of the will to receive, receive new forms and new qualities?  How can I by this already see myself and the world after Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? What do we reach after these three stages of correction?

WSQ:* (1:54:20) If Abraham is entirely Chesed and Isaac is entirely Gevurot, then in Abraham we can't feel the desire on behalf of the created being and in Isaac we only feel the desire from the created being so, how can Jacob be included of both? How can we realize him in the connection between us? As if the correct connection between the qualities of the Creator and the qualities of the created being within man, so why isn't Jacob called Gmar Tikkun?  Why do we see that we need to keep developing, what is so special in the quality of Jacob?

7. RABASH, Assorted Notes. Article No.355, "He Who Has No Sons"

One who has no sons is regarded as dead, meaning that he has no place of lack on which to need to extend new life. For this reason, he gave him the Gevura, where by always overcoming in the Torah and Mitzvot [commandments], he will extend the complete wholeness, for man’s ways is that he corrects his actions through repentance.

There is repentance from love, and there is repentance from fear, and there are all inclusive righteous, who have been rewarded with repentance from love even with respect to their own selves. However, for the sake of the general public, they did not correct the repentance from love.

This was the quality of Isaac, as it is written, “And Isaac sowed in that land and found in that year one hundred gates,” meaning the full and complete measure.

47. R. Why didn't Abraham have sons until finally eventually when he was like a hundred years old, he had a son, why didn't Abraham have sons?  Who wants to answer why did Abraham not have sons?

48. S.  Maybe it's because he wasn't circumcised yet or restricted?

R. That is the next question, but without that.

49. S. He had no desire

R. .....

50. S. (2:05:56) He didn't feel the importance of the will to receive?

R. Correct. Because the will to receive was not revealed to Abraham because he was all about bestowal this is why it's considered that he didn't have sons initially, afterwards he did. will deal later with why Ishmael was born first and then Isaac, what happened was the forces were at play in the vessel where you can't have one without the other this will come later.

8. Zohar for All, Tzav [Command], "The Four Species and Hoshana Rabbah" [Great Supplication, 7th day of Sukkot], No. 116

On the first day of the month, on Rosh Hashanah, there was the beginning of Din through the world, and Isaac, the left line, rose to the throne of justice to judge the world. On Hoshana Rabbah, Isaac returned to evoking Dinim and to concluding the Dinim, and to dig the wells of water—meaning to spill Gevurot for the Assembly of Israel, Malchut, the well—to evoke the water, illumination of Hochma, since the water in Gevurot descend to the world, for illumination of Hochma is drawn out to the world only with Dinim.

51. R.Gevurot, Desires with overcoming in order to turn them into wells they are called the wells of Isaac and then through these wells of Isaac we receive water, meaning mercy and by that we can come to intensify the quality of Abraham through Isaac.  Where is Abraham is just water Chesed, Isaac can already elicit and extract this water through the Gevurot, through overcoming, by digging wells and extracting water from the ground even though the water can't flow naturally in a simple way. This is called work in Gevurot.

52. S.  (2:10:09) What does it mean I dig the wells in order to discover the water?

R.  The ground in Malchut with Gevurot you have to dig into it and extract it, will talk about it later, soon it will be clear to you what is written in the Torah about this whole story so that you will see all of this spiritual work there.  There is nothing there that has to do with worldly substances. It is all about balancing CHGTNHYM and how they work together in order to reveal KCHB.

S.  I want to say thank you because this process is fascinating, you are leading us in such an adventure in Sukkot for us to feel all of these sensations thank you.   How should we move through all of these states correctly in the ten?

R.  I would recommend going through all of the excerpts again and besides these excerpts at the end of every excerpt it says Rabash note number.... so you can read that as well, study it or just go over these selected excerpt from the sources that we just read.  Basically we finished them so we have to see how we can, the main thing are those two forces, Abraham is the quality of Chesed and opposite that is the quality of Isaac the quality of Gevurot,  which are opposite from one another so how do we through these two forces begin to turn to creation and complimented more and more.  Then more of Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod TNHY awaken from us Tiferet is what connection and establishes arranges and establishes the connection between Abraham and Isaac and then Abraham and Isaac and Jacob on a lower level more material more tangible is NHY, which we will learn how it is implemented and then everything comes to Malchut.  All of those things are still ahead of usm but it is good that we are beginning to see how it is written and how it is transferred from the written language to a language of inner work into the group. Everything has to end in the group, just understand if it doesn't end in the group, then everything remains in the air and we won't achieve anything. We have to implement in the group and constantly demand advancement in this way, everything we read, the end of the understanding, the implementation is only in the group.

S.  Throughout the day when it sums up in the group what do we have to reach that everybody will feel that they are in the same state or understand?

R.  For everyone to be able to realize Abraham and Isaac in the connection between us, in the ten. It doesn't matter if we are right, if we understand correctly or incorrectly as long as we are constantly engaging in this, the important thing is to engage and work with it. When we want like a little child who wants constantly to do something, he sweats and it doesn't work but he doesn't care. Look at how the upper Force pushes him to it and accompanies him so that he will constantly be dealing with it. This is what we have to do among us. Whatever happens doesn't matter whatever works out doesn't matter as long as we're constantly really trying to connect among us in the qualities of Abraham and Isaac. Tomorrow morning we will learn Jacob. That way we will gradually, it's not slowly it's happening within a week, but we will go over the whole structure of the soul and then we will begin to rise with it into all of the qualities. Now we were only learning the components, the carriers of the Soul. Afterwards we will begin to see how we can through connecting among us in a special and specific way, we will be able to begin to transfer a message to the Creator, to convey a message to the Creator if we connect this way or that way. It is a language so how do we buy that begin to influence the upper force, how it influences us and then we come into this mutual connection between us that will be beginning to learn how the Partzuf functions with the Tzimtzum, Masach, Ohr Chozer all of the operations that we will do together we will begin to implement them, where the Klipot are where the Holiness is, and how we can connect more or less. That is how it will happen, in this whole thing we will discover a new world, new qualities, we will not relate to each other anymore as two people but as to Special Forces within nature. Each one will be to the friends a special revelation of the Creator. This is what will happen.

53. S. (2:17:45) Is this the matter of the Abraham and Isaac, Akeidah, 

R.  No, but we should study it separately, we have an article from Rabash about that,  maybe we will learn that in the evening let's have something about the tying of Isaac, to limit him, the whole story of what Abraham did with Isaac that without this correction we cannot advance.

54. S. (2:18:50) Why is Abraham, what is the meaning of the tying of Isaac?

R.  No, this we will learn in the evening, together with your meeting your YH we will also have an hour of learning, we won't go without it because without the tying of Isaac we won't understand what forces we have left to correct the general vessel.

The waste we have to locate in order to obtain the quality of Isaac, the quality of Abraham the connection that we don't want it and we need to specifically raise these qualities above all of our head.  This is called the preparation for the correction of the Soul, where the general form means that we have and build a Sukkah, the important thing about the Sukkah is Schach, it is built out of the waste out of things that we disrespect that we have contempt for which is our possibilities to connect.  If we raise the possibility to connect above us and think that they are the most correct and they are the most required then this is regarded as building a Sukkah, Schach. Afterwards, under the Schach, we begin to reveal the qualities of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and so forth.

56. S. (2:21:45) ...

R.  When we begin to work according to this we begin to see how each one... the other. If we engage with Abraham correctly together we will see that it awakens the revelation of the will to receive which is called the birth of Isaac.

57. S. (2:22:29) What qualities are in the group that are not in me?

R.  I think there's nothing in you that's where they have spirituality.  All of your spiritual qualities are in the friends. I am totally serious, with what you have, you cannot build anything spiritual. Only when you come to them and to the extent that you annul yourself and connect to them, to that extent you begin to discover in the connection between you and the ten, you begin to discover the qualities of your soul. Now you have only a recollection, Reshimot, so if you don't connect to the ten and you never reach your soul. The spiritual vessel.

58. S. (2:23:52) Can you say that the quality of Isaac is receiving from the friends for strengthening the connection?

R.  Well maybe to an extent.

59. S. (2:24:19) What does it mean that he said Isaac's father will be filled?

R.  No, we haven't learned about that.

S.  Why when a ten build a Sukkah of Peace does it extend to all of reality?

R.  Because it is a desire of the ten itself to spread that Sukkah of Peace for the revelation of the Creator to be for all created beings.

S.  How does a harmony in the ten work when every individual feels Chesed and Gevurah in different measures and times how to tie it all together as one body?

R. We don't need to be such wise guys because we don't know the plan of creation.  We just have to move forward and try to connect among us as much as possible in order to be close and similar to the Creator and then it will happen. I should always begin the spiritual act but in truth the Creator leads it.

60. S. (2:26:11) You said we have to exercise and find the qualities between us in the ten about the attribute Chesed,  I think it is felt, but it is not clear what the approach of Isaac is?

R.  You're right you can't understand each quality separately but only and how it combines with the rest of the qualities.  So this is how we have to look at it only in the connection between them. How each one comes and testifies, indicates to the others.  This is why you can't study Abraham unless you have opposite him, the other qualities and it is likewise for all of them. We learn it mainly when we begin to connect these qualities in the ten and then we begin to see how different they are and in what are they are different and in what their way of connecting is special each time. Until we see that the upper Force connects them together in such a way that it can be revealed in them. We just have to present it to the upper light, in the end it arranges all of our qualities and arranges them in such a way that it can be revealed in them.

S. We have learned about two qualities, so how do we engage in them today?

R. Engage in those two qualities otherwise how do you move further?

S. What does it mean to engage in Isaac?

S. What should be our preparation to reach the building of the kli?

R. This is something we should be doing now.

S. Practically every day how do I add to the preparation to building the Kli?

R. We add to the same quality of Abraham which is pure bestowal without any connection to himself, without adding any forces of his own he only wants to resemble the Creator. Now he adds to himself of himself, this is called Isaac, he discovers the hard desires that he has and that he has to work with them this is called Gevurot, he adds to it through the wells of Isaac and then Jacob he puts order into them and we will learn this maybe this evening or tomorrow morning.
