Excerpts from the sources: “Work with Faith Above Reason”. #27

Reader: Hello friends, in the first part of the lesson, we will watch a recorded lesson on the subject of “Work with Faith Above Reason.” This is a recorded lesson from November 21st, 2020.

Reader: Good morning friends, we'll begin our lesson on the topic of “Faith Above Reason.” We are in Excerpt 27. “Work In Faith Above Reason.” Rav, please.

M. Laitman: (00:43) Work above reason, that we need to be on two levels: in reason and above reason, and we have to respect both of them. Because reason is the degree of a man in this world and above reason, when he tries to elevate himself to the degree of the Creator; to feel, to understand, to relate to everything, to become oriented in reality, like the Creator. And from these two levels, we have to compose ourselves, and the effort to invest, to put in an effort in each and every situation. What does it mean to be in faith above reason? That is, to try to rise above your egoistic desire that is working within you to begin with, out of nature, from childhood, it has been developing in you. And it gave you the habit to see the world this way, and you would like to see it in a different way, in the form of bestowal, in the form of connection, in a way that you come out of yourself, and you exist in others, you exist in the Creator, in the general force of bestowal, the degree of Bina, that has nothing for itself, but only whatever is required for others. This actually is faith above reason. And then, to feel wholeness in that state, that we don't need anything besides that. If you let go of yourself, then you already exist in the true reality, because yourself was given to you only in order for you to feel that you exist outside of it. This is actually what we have to do. It's daily work. It's hard work, because we have to constantly, more and more and more, repeat it. A part of this work, or a foundation for this work, is the work in connection, in such connection that we don't just connect like a map here, that we all just connect together. A person connects by elevating himself to the degree of others, being included in others, does everything that seems to him that it is for the benefit of the others. And this is one of the means to reach faith above reason. This is how we have to do exercises, one day to the next. So, let's approach what Rabash writes for us, and for sure it will give us more light to guide us. So, please.

Reader: Excerpt number 27 on the page of “Work in Faith Above Reason,” from the articles of Rabash .

Reading: (04:38) 27. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 289. “The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous”

The blow that one receives from the Creator, when He takes from him the flavor of the work, by this itself He heals him because then he has no other way to serve the Creator but with faith above reason.

M. Laitman: When the Creator brings the Person some reason, some thoughts, desires, such that the person doesn't feel himself as belonging to spirituality, he's some animal, some beast, something that he cannot work with in spirituality. That is the blow that he receives. This is how the Creator is giving him a foundation, a basis from which on, now he has to start his ascent. And this is what he says, the blow that one receives from the Creator, when He takes from him the flavor of the work, his inclination, his connection, nothing. But something does remain in him, that he doesn't belong to it in such a way. By this itself the Creator heals the person, because then the person has no other counsel by which to serve the Creator, but with faith above reason. It means that he has no support, no foundation, no urge, no attraction, nothing. And then he is neither in his mind, neither in his heart, he doesn't feel that something is aiming him, pulling him. And then from that zero, it's just that he has the knowledge that this is how it is, from here he has to work. It's hard. But on the other hand, it is a sign of a new degree. Please.

Reading: (06:46) 27. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 289. “The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous”

It follows that the blow that he received from the Creator, from this itself he can be healed, for otherwise, he will remain in separation.

By this we understand what our sages said, that by the blows of the Creator, He heals (Mechilta BeShalach).

M. Laitman: He gives the person a new state to advance further, to go towards more connection above his feeling, above his understanding, so that there are no foundations, either by the emotion that draws me or by my mind, so that I understand that I need to advance. But if it's not according to this or according to that, I truly feel myself as foggy,  as if I don't belong to it. But there is some thought that remains nevertheless. This is what the Creator leaves there. And this gives me the possibility to start a new degree. And therefore, when I go and I acquire it, I see that specifically it was that blow that the Creator gave me when He disconnected me from my feeling and my understanding, that is, from my heart and my mind, the intellect and emotion of the previous degree, the previous state. By this, He heals me. He is elevating me more, and more, and more to the level of Bina.

Reading: (08:18) 27. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 289. “The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous”

In other words, this is the healing—that He gives him room to work with faith without any support.

Also, we should understand what our sages said, “The Creator makes a decree and a righteous revokes it” (Moed Katan, 16). This means that the Creator makes a decree, taking from him the pleasure of the work, and there is no harsher decree than taking from someone the vitality in the work.

M. Laitman: It turns out that now I'm without a feeling in my heart, and I have no thought in my mind regarding spirituality. The Creator does it to me this way, that is the blow. And I need to begin to work from it towards spirituality, towards bestowal, towards connection, towards faith, the force of Bina, as much as I will be able to enter it and depict it, however, as much as possible, without personal benefit.  This is the foundation the Creator gave me, so that now I can advance without any self-interest. And when I go forward, for sure I will start to receive from this a new emotion and mind of the level of Bina, and then the Creator again does this restart to me. He lowers all of my mind and emotion, and again I need to go to newer mind and emotion that are more in bestowal than before. And then the Creator, each time He strikes, He gives me this cessation with whatever I've achieved with my mind and my emotion, and I have to do it again and again. And this is how I go from degree to degree. So it turns out that whatever comes from the Creator, it is a new creation, a new desire, which He reveals in me. This desire is an egoistic desire, and on top of it, I need to work. And this is how it is each and every time. By this, I become a partner of the Creator. He starts creation, as we call it, each and every degree. The Creator reveals it. He says, “I created the evil inclination,” when I feel myself disconnected from spirituality, and I start from that to advance myself to a new spirituality.

Reading: (11:16) 27. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 289. “The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous”

But the righteous revokes it. That is, if a person says he wants to work without any reward of vitality and pleasure, then the decree is revoked in any case. Moreover, now he rises to a higher degree, for now he is in a state of pure faith and is regarded as having no self-interest.

Question (Kyiv 1): (11:52) What does it mean that the righteous revokes it?

M. Laitman: The Creator brings you down, but He doesn't really lower you. He's elevating you in your egoistic desire which He elevates to a higher degree. In that new desire, I don't see any mind, any emotion, any understanding or feeling of a new state, because it is an egoistic desire. It cannot be oriented in the spirituality which I've achieved a little bit. And so then I have to achieve, on top of this new desire, a new emotion, a new mind, so that I want to be connected with bestowal. Bestowal is faith above reason. Above the reason which the Creator now established in me, a new will to receive, I want to be with faith, meaning to be in bestowal, in spirituality, coming out of myself. What does the degree of Bina mean? That from Malchut I rise to Bina, each time from Malchut to Bina, from Malchut to Bina, until I enter Bina permanently, until all of these incursions, I do them more and more and more, until, as it is called, a habit becomes second nature, and then I remain on that degree of Bina permanently. And I already then have a different kind of work, where I need to add to it Malchut. And I begin to already enter, not from Katnut, Aviut or thickness of Shoresh and Aleph, but rather Aviut of Bet, etc.

Question (PT 25): (13:55) If the Creator revokes the flavor in the work, and the righteous revokes the lack of flavor, does He want flavor?

M. Laitman: The righteous one should say that whatever he received now, that also comes from the Creator, because all the states come only from the Creator. There is None Else Besides Him. Therefore, I'm going above whatever I receive from the Creator. Each and everything, whatever I receive each and every moment, it comes to me only from the Creator, and I need to rise above it to the degree of bestowal, connection, to the degree of Bina, to the degree of faith. So, first of all, that I receive it from the Creator, that's one thing. Second, is that I need to say, to relate to whatever I feel right now, that it is actually coming closer to the Creator. And through the group, I need to yearn to work towards Him, to come closer to Him, and as much as possible to connect the whole Ten, and the  Creator, and myself together. And that way, to process each and every state that is given to me towards unity.

Student: So, and what should I add?

M. Laitman: What do you have to add? Connection. In each and every state, you need to add connection. And later on, you will have to add to this connection the entire humanity, the whole of creation. This actually is our work, because all in all, by that, you establish each and every time the Kli in the correct way. Towards you, this Kli is broken. But it's not broken, it's only with respect to the person. The person is to establish it; it is called to raise divinity from the dust.

Question (ITA 4): (16:16) The state you talked about, it can happen that when a friend exerts, he doesn't feel any advancement. He is totally immersed in a negative state. How can the Ten help such a friend?

M. Laitman: First of all, we need to establish ourselves correctly, that if we have between us such a friend, it is a sign that we deserve to have such a friend between us. And then we have to work with it, all of us, and not think that it is the friend, it's his fault. If he is not corrupting the group, if he is not against connection, so that he is truly outside of our path, but if he fell, he was broken in some way, he is sick spiritually, as we call it, then we need to strengthen him. Take a part of his work upon us, carry him on our backs, and try to heal him. Realize that it's not a blow that he received, rather it is a blow that the entire group received. And then we will see specifically that the Creator chooses all kinds of such friends in order to strengthen the entire group. He doesn't do it for a particular person, so that he will be weak or confused or something, but rather he is doing it towards the group. This is how we need to look at it. The Creator is always relating to the Ten, not less. And that way we can advance. That's it. If you will do it this way, you will see how much all the blows that you’re seemingly receiving individually, more or less, how much all of them are actually awakening you and specifically directing you towards the goal, towards connection, and towards success.

Question (Spain 2): (18:43) If we are desires to receive, how can we work without any reward or reception of vitality?

M. Laitman: In our connection, we want to reach mutual bestowal, otherwise it's not connection. So that all of us who want to connect, to become connected in the Ten, and then this Ten, to serve it to the Creator as a field blessed by the Lord. This is the field between us, the place between us where the Creator can be revealed. Give it the general force of bestowal of its own. We can only overcome between us, overcome our individual egos. However when we make this effort and as if we want to bestow to each other, the Creator bestows upon it His light from above, Himself from above. Then it turns out that our efforts towards connection is that efficiency in which the Creator can clothe and give it connection and that quality of connection is then felt in us as fulfillment. This is how we reach contact between us and with the Creator together. We need to feel it and see that this is how it will come to be. This is how we acquire state after state from separation to connection, from a small Creator to a greater Creator who is revealed between us. As Rav Zusha said, each day I have a new Creator. Each time I discover a new connection between us and in it the upper light of love, of bestowal, which is new.

Question (Volga): (21:13) I can't get used to the thought that tastelessness is nearing the Creator. It's not clear how the pleasure happens.

M. Laitman: First of all, when the Creator takes away from you any flavor in life and you feel yourself like a beast, when you look at the world like this and you have no idea what is happening here, you have no idea what is going on before you, you have no idea who you are and what you are, everything is emptied. Everything is emptied from all kinds of emotions, attainments, understanding, connections. It's like the connection disappeared between all of these different parts that used to assemble for you the picture of the world. It is the Creator who is taking you out of the previous degree that you were in and He wants to bring you to a new degree. The difference between the degrees is that in each and every degree you relate to the components of the world - thoughts, desires, you relate to them with greater faith, with greater bestowal, with a greater exit from yourself, rising above yourself. This is what characterizes the ascent from one degree to another. All degrees are the same degrees. Even now we exist in the world of Ein Sof, and even now the Creator is with us, however we don't feel it. In order to feel it, in order to understand it, this is what we have to do: to accept each and every state in a way that I, by this, am building the force of bestowal. And this is how we reach it. Sometimes I lack the words. You need to help me to enter these states and to search, and then we will have the words so that we will be able to understand each other better. What else? Say again what you were asking.

Student: Concerning the habit, I can't get used to tastelessness coming closer, that's why I run away from the work.

M. Laitman: Your feelings are correct, your feelings are correct in general, you're okay. However, we need to understand that the fact that the Creator is taking from us the flavors, it is in order for us to bring into it greater flavors. So that I will search and find flavor in a degree which is more empty than before. It is more empty because my ego doesn't feel any flavor in it. And then I have to search how to bring it a greater inclination towards love, connection, excitement, an inclination towards the friends, and then I will discover in it a new emotion. This is how it is. This is why the Creator cancels, revokes the previous emotion, and He’s giving us an opportunity by that to bring in a new emotion, a new mind, a new inclination, greater subtlety than before, greater sensitivity to the range, the degree of our sensitivity towards bestowal, towards each other. And by that, He is obligating us, and we are obligating Him to give us this feeling of belonging to each other, of being connected to each other. And He, in the end, is revealed. It will come soon; don't you worry about it.

Question (PT 25): (26:05) Basically, in degrees of tastelessness, if we constantly reveal tastelessness on top of the flavors that we look for…

M. Laitman: Yes, we are searching for flavors, we are searching for fulfillment. Even in the degree of bestowal - I want to bestow, I want to advance, I want to feel in the connection - later on, I feel that I have no relation to connection, I have no flavor in connection, I have nothing. From where does that come? There is nothing that happens on its own. There's no such thing in nature. Everything is measured; everything is ticking in a very precise manner. The Creator takes the flavors away; the Creator takes the states away. He wants us, each time, to build new states in lack of additional emotion and understanding, so that we will disconnect from Malchut and connect with Bina. This way, more and more.

Student: Can we skip states?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, absolutely.

Question (PT 5): (27:28) The reinforcements we give to each other, greatness of the goal, greatness of the Creator, high spirits, are these not reinforcements into the vessel of reception? It's boosting one's ego?

M. Laitman: Well, it is true, but nevertheless, we are talking about the fact that we are searching, well, the fact that you're giving him support, reinforcement, it's correct, it's true, but the fact that you, by yourself, rise towards bestowal above reception, faith above reason, because what you're saying, it can be done egoistically. Think about it.

Student: So what's the difference?

M. Laitman: The difference is in the feeling, in the approach of what you want to achieve by it.

Question (PT 31): (28:22) What heals and what does disconnection from the importance of the goal heal in a person?

M. Laitman: Disconnection from importance on the path. Why should we be healed from this, so that we won't feel it?

Student: If a person feels disconnected, disconnected from the importance, does it heal anything in him?

M. Laitman: It evokes him towards the remedy. That he has to try with all of his force to connect to the Ten and inside of the Ten to search for a connection with the Creator, and then he will get the remedy.

Student: Now, if a person doesn't feel that he is sick, but the Ten does feel that he is sick spiritually, can it heal him?

M. Laitman: With prayer.

Student: Even if he doesn't feel sick?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, a sick person might not feel that he's sick, but the others determine that he's sick. If the Ten determines it, but the person does not, then with its prayer it has to activate the Creator so that He will influence that person, bestow upon him, yes. This is actually a very advanced, very good state.

Question (New York 4): (30:00) If a friend falls, we have to activate the prayer in order to help him. What do we do if our prayer doesn't work?

M. Laitman: There's no such thing as the prayer not working. Rather, the fact that you don't see the results yet, and maybe the results are there, but you can't see them because you are mistaken in the way that you want to see the results, however a prayer, an appeal to the Creator always works. It doesn't matter in which form, it doesn't matter in which direction, but it does work. Each and every deficiency, even a deficiency of an individual person without the Ten, it nevertheless, nevertheless, it does work on the system of upper bestowal.

Student: But in the end, we want this friend to come back to us, and we don't see it. So what do we do?

M. Laitman: So apparently it's your fault, not his fault. You cannot activate your desire in such a way that the Creator will heal him.

Question (ITA 3): (31:26) From where do we take the new vessels, the new deficiencies, so that the biggest deficiency will be only for joy?

M. Laitman: Each shall help his friend. When you speak between you, by this, you awaken each other, and even if any one of you is speaking not out of his heart, and not directly, and not that he truly wants to connect, and he truly wants to bestow, and he truly wants to love. However, the fact that you speak in such a way to each other, by that you are awakening each other. It's like in our world, with the media, and all kinds of such influences that people pass on to each other, that are false. We also do that. That's how we start our work in the Ten, each time. Because each time we are raising ourselves to a new degree of the ego that becomes revealed with greater depth. And therefore, we start from the evil inclination, from falsehood, but then, bit by bit, we awaken our connection with the Creator, even with false words. And He bestows upon us, and gradually, He takes us out of our ego, and brings us to the truth. This is how it happens in each and every state, in each and every degree. There are many nice verses about it, about how the Creator delivers us from this bad, dirty state to the good. It is called that the mother will come and wipe her child, just like the mother washes the baby that dirtied his clothes. This is how the degree of Bina, the degree of the mother, performs corrections in us. And it doesn't matter that by that we bring out our dirt; it's called the Klipot. The degree of Bina takes care of us and elevates us.

Question (Merkaz 1): (34:05) I don't understand how do I bring this tastelessness? I bring this tastelessness to the Ten. If I do that, I increase the left line. How do I bring it correctly, so as not to bring them down?

M. Laitman: You have to read Rabash's articles, how to behave in the Ten. And don't you ask me.

Question (Internet): (34:37) What is the mechanism that causes a descent to come necessarily after an ascent? Is it something spiritual, emotional, psychological?

M. Laitman: It's not spiritual, emotional, or psychological. It will be revealed in such a way, emotionally, psychologically, but it stems out of the fact that the Kli, the complete Kli, was broken into pieces and those pieces now wake up one after the other, from the lighter to the heavier, in order for us to connect them. This is called correction, Tikkun. Correction is connection, so that we will put them together into a complete system. Okay? All right, so let's continue.

Reader: Rabash writes:

Reading: (35:39) 28. Rabash. Article 7 (1990), “What Are the Times of Prayer and Gratitude in the Work?”

A person must believe above reason that he is in wholeness, and so is the whole world.

It follows that in this way he can and should thank the Creator for giving us abundance. This is called the “right line,” which is the complete opposite of the left line. That is, in the left line, we walk within reason, as was said, that “A judge has only what his eyes see.” In other words, it is specifically with the intellect and not above the intellect. But when shifting to work with the “right,” the left is the cause that the right is built on the basis of above reason.

This is as our sages said, “The left pushes away and the right pulls near.” In other words, the state of “left” shows a person how he is rejected and separated from the work of the Creator. “The right pulls near” means that it shows him that he is close to the work of the Creator. This means that when he engages in the left, the left should bring him to see a state of rejection, that he is rejected and separated from the work. When he engages in the right, he should come to a state where he sees that he is close to the Creator. He should thank the Creator for the “right,” and pray to the Creator for the “left,”

M. Laitman: So beautiful. Let's hear it again. Together, together. Let us connect and hear together what Rabash says.

A person must believe above reason that he is in wholeness, and so is the whole world.

It follows that in this way he can and should thank the Creator for giving us abundance.

M. Laitman: This means that we exist in the complete system at the end of correction, Adam HaRishon, everything is whole. However, we need to discover it. But the fact that we are in it, all of us, that's for sure. So why should we, why do we have to look at it this way?

M. Laitman: (40:14) A workshop, friends, a workshop. Why should we feel one time the left, another time the right? What do we get out of it? That we feel both of these states on our path in our development. Go ahead, please. Talk between you, and most importantly, it is between you. Go ahead.

Workshop: Why do we need to feel once the left, once the right?

Reader: I'll read it again. 29, okay. Rabash writes:

Reading: (46:14) 29. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 300. “A Land Where You Will Eat Bread Without Scarcity”

This is what it means that one must engage in Torah day and night, that the night and the day should be equal for him, as written in The Zohar (BeShalach). In other words, the state of completeness called “day,” and the state of incompleteness called “night,” should be equal.

M. Laitman: We can see this as a place for testing. If I have a state that I feel darkness or a state that I feel light, all my states in life, I get them from the Creator, for sure. And then in all those states, I feel equal, the same, only as a preparation, as something that was given for work, for my reaction. And with my reaction to the Creator, I don't care what conditions He gives me, which I may feel as better or worse, confusing this way, that way, it doesn't matter. I'm always happy that in every state in life, I know that I got it from the Creator, and it is the right state from which I have to relate to the Creator as the Good Who Does Good, and begin a new degree from it, begin to develop from it my feeling in faith above reason. And therefore, it makes no difference to me whether I feel a state as good or bad, I'm above my feeling, because it's inside my will to receive that I feel. So, every single moment, I can therefore be happy that I received from the Creator that moment, and now I can carry on. Yes, again.

M. Laitman: In feeling day or night.

that the night and the day should be equal for him, as written in The Zohar (BeShalach).

M. Laitman: In other words, in the completeness of the work, I'm happy with any situation I get from the Creator.

In other words, the state of completeness called “day,” and the state of incompleteness called “night,” should be equal. That is, if his aim is for the sake of the Creator then he agrees that he wants to bring contentment to his Maker, and if the Creator wants him to remain in the state of incompleteness, he agrees to this, as well.

M. Laitman: Because it came from the Creator.

Reading: 29. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 300. “A Land Where You Will Eat Bread Without Scarcity”

The consent is expressed by doing his work as if he were rewarded with wholeness.

M. Laitman: Where there is no difference between these states, because he received every state from the Creator, then in every situation he has to feel completeness.

Reading: (49:47) 29. Rabash. Assorted Notes. Article 300. “A Land Where You Will Eat Bread Without Scarcity”

This is regarded as “agreeing,” when the day and the night are equal to him.

But if there is a difference, to the extent of the difference, there is separation, and on that separation there is a grip to the outer ones. Hence, if a person feels that to him there is a difference, he must pray to the Creator to help him so there will not be a difference for him, and then he will be rewarded with completeness.

Reader: Again, reading Excerpt 29.

M. Laitman: It's a very powerful excerpt.

Question (New York 4): (52:05) In the emotions, are these states coming sequentially? Is it correct that they come sequentially, or is it like a soup, that it's kind of all one thing?

M. Laitman: Both. Why does it matter? We have to understand that a person receives everything according to the upper light that operates on his soul. It arranges the states of the soul that has to build itself. Meaning, respond correctly by restricting the ego, and with the reflected light, that he wants to relate correctly to the Creator. And the Creator certainly gives to the soul, to the broken desire, He gives a good bestowal in order to teach it how to be a part of the Creator. And therefore, this desire that becomes a desire of the soul, it reacts in such a way that it wants to bestow as well. It wants to be similar, it wants to receive everything from There is None Else Besides Him, only as good and doing good. And in this way, they come to more mutual connection between them, and more and more until these things actually become revealed. Now, we are truly on the boundary, on the borderline, after which we will begin to feel the connection between us and the Creator more tangibly. “I for my beloved and my beloved is for me.”

Question (Salt Lake City): (54:21) What does it mean that He is equal in night and day? Is it in my attitude, that I have the same attitude towards state of night and state of day?

M. Laitman: In the beginning of the revelation of the new degree, I discover a state of day and a state of night. But afterwards, after I scrutinize it, I accept it as one. This is called the darkness shines as the day. And it doesn't matter to me how much it shines, as long as I received it from the Creator. And above that state, I have to come to connection with Him. And therefore, it doesn't matter at all to me if that state feels in me as good or bad. I only use that bad or good state in order to rise above them, to the degree of bestowal upon the Creator, the degree of connection. This is how I build it in me. In the meantime, the first spiritual state, which is called Ubar [the embryo], where I am inside the Creator, regardless of the states that He awakens in me. This is called wanting to enter Him and be in Him. If I'm connected to Him, then no changes in my states influence me. Whether they are good or bad, I'm connected to Him. This is the embryonic degree. It's like the sperm entering the mother's womb and begins to develop there.

Question (French ): (56:42) Between the right and the left, there is great tension. Sometimes it's hard to hold on with this tension. If I turn to the Creator through the group, sometimes all of my emotions disappear. So, I'm not sure what I need to do in order to advance from this state. What should I add so that everything will not simply disappear? Because I feel that it's incorrect when I simply stay without anything.

M. Laitman: I have to try to be in states where as much as I go through all kinds of forms in my feeling and even in my understanding, I'm above it, attached to the Creator. Look at a baby in its mother's arms. It grabs her with both hands and doesn't want to disconnect from her. It feels that if it holds her, that's all the confidence for its whole grip on life, on its existence. And that's how we too should see ourselves. So, let's, between us, in the group, and throughout the whole world Kli, let's try to come to a state where we help each other, strengthen each other, and reinforce each other, support each other, in being connected, attached to the Creator like a baby to its mother. And it doesn't matter that she's holding it, to the extent that it feels that she's holding it, it feels a little freer. But if it leaves, if it feels like it leaves it, she leaves it, it grabs it with all of its strength. This is our work for now. And here we have to help each other in the Ten, and all the Tens should help each other.

Question (Turkiye 2): (59:44) How can we understand that conditions in this evening and morning are equal?

M. Laitman: I have to rise above my personal feeling, because my personal feeling is inside my will to receive, and therefore, of course I feel the changes in the morning and in the evening, I feel all the changes. And each time, as we rise in degrees, we will feel these states more on the extreme, but it shouldn't influence us. I mean, it does influence us, but for our part, we make a correction. This is called raising ourselves above reason, above our feeling in our will to receive. Therefore, to us, it's as if there is no difference between morning and night, day and night, morning and evening. We attribute everything to the Creator, so it doesn't matter for us what we receive, as long as we are connected to Him.

Question (Siberia): (01:01:25) We were talking about completeness, wholeness, and what does a lack of wholeness look like? Wholeness is when we exist above everything, so what is incompleteness, lack of wholeness?

M. Laitman: Incompleteness is when we don't feel ourselves connected to the Creator, we cannot connect between us, we cannot establish a state between us that will give us the feeling of the Creator. When we don't feel the connection to the purpose of creation, when we can't picture the system we are in, but each one pictures whatever he wants in his personal egoistic will to receive. It's called he who faults, faults in his own ego - his faults disqualify the uniqueness of the Creator, the uniqueness of creation. This is called incomplete state.

Question (Unity 1): (01:02:50) The left line seems logical, so how can we correctly scrutinize the right line, and how is that related to the Ten? We'll talk about left and right later. First, we have to bring ourselves to connection between us, so that there is no left or right, there is only the connection with the Creator. Afterwards, we'll begin to work with lines that we respond to it, right, left, and by that we will strengthen ourselves. It's like walking on two legs. This will come later, not today.

Question (PT 22): (01:03:39) This equality between the night and the day, it is parallel to that verse that we read that one should ever consider himself as half guilty, half innocent, so that he will have freedom, so he will have a choice?

M. Laitman: No, that's incorrect. It's a different state. Forget about it for now.

Question (PT 25): (01:04:15) The difference that he's talking about, he says that if there is a difference, I mean, how do you stand guard so that he doesn't go to the outer ones?

M. Laitman: He maintains the unity. If it deviates towards some direction, it already goes to the outer ones. All right, so let's continue, let's continue some more.

Reader: Excerpt 30, Rabash writes:

Reading: (01:04:46) 30. Rabash. Article 16 (1989), “What Is the Prohibition to Bless on an Empty Table, in the Work?” - Twice

A person should establish the praise of the Creator, and then pray. Clearly, while he establishes the praises, he says that the Creator is good and does good to the bad and to the good, and that He is merciful and gracious. At that time, it cannot be said that a person is deficient, meaning that he lacks something whether in spirituality or in corporeality. Otherwise, it means that he is merely saying but his heart is not with him. That is, in his heart, he thinks differently from what he says with his mouth. For this reason, it is impossible to sing and thank the Creator and say His virtues, but a person says about himself that he has abundance and that he lacks nothing. Thus, how can one say so when he finds himself bare and destitute?

Baal HaSulam said about this that a person should depict to himself as though he has already been rewarded with complete faith in the Creator and already feels that the Creator leads the world in a manner of good and doing good. Although when he looks at himself and the world and sees that he and the whole world are deficient, each according to his degree, he should say about this, “They have eyes and see not,” meaning above reason. In this way, he can say that he is a complete person and lacks nothing. Naturally, he can establish the praise of the Creator above reason.

Reader: Again, Excerpt number 30.

Question (PT 24): (01:09:05) Is there a difference between saying it, saying that there is no reality besides the holy divinity, or depicting it as Baal HaSulam says, you know, how do you portray it? What is the difference?

M. Laitman: Well, we have to imagine that this is so, and we exist in this, because the inclination to see the world like this is already a prayer, and we should therefore be in it all the time, as much as we can, and above it. And just speaking? A person can speak without any inclination or feeling or purpose. We just talk, like politicians talk. They think about one thing and utter something else.

Student: Yes, but why am I asking? Because I don't know if it's related to it, maybe, I'm sure you know, but it says in the sources, I believe it's because I spoke through speaking, faith is engraved in the heart. There's something to it, because if I tell a friend that I love him, suddenly I do begin to love him.

M. Laitman: Correct, correct.

Student: So, depicting it inside, portraying it, it can also come then…

M. Laitman: It begins from very far and small degrees, but anything that a person brings out, builds an angel, that's what it's called, it does something. And that's how it advances. You’re right.

Question (Tbilisi): (01:11:04) Is our freedom of choice expressed in the fact that we are drawn from the left to the right in such a way?

M. Laitman: Yes, the fact that we want to shift from the left to the right, this also is a part of our work. There's a part of the work where we awaken the left on purpose, and then from the left we want to move to the right, and then we want to connect the two together, build out of the two the middle line. There are many kinds of work. We will go through them. For now, we want to find the right way where the spiritual work begins. This is the state we are actually in.

Question (PT 23): (01:12:18) What is that balancing point with an equal relation to the left and to the right, and how is it possible to realize it, to have a hold on it? Is this what is called faith above reason?

M. Laitman: Yes, that's correct. If it doesn't matter to me if it's left or right - it's not that it doesn't matter, but I relate equally to the bad things and the good things, it doesn't matter to me to what things - but because I get them from the Creator, and I get all those states, when I get those states, they stem from the root of my soul, from the breaking of the soul that I went through beforehand. So I receive everything as things that I had to receive this way, and that's how they had to manifest. And that's why I look at my whole life as the upper light awakening a broken Kli, broken vessel, and all I need is to be in the middle, the right connector between the upper light and the broken vessel. And this is how I see my life, my role.

Student: How is it possible, please, to strengthen this point? I feel it on myself that I'm constantly thrown out of this balancing point.

M. Laitman: Ask the friends, ask from the friends, ask the friends that you will work like that all together, so that everything we receive, every moment, individually and collectively, is the Creator bringing us to the good state and saying, “Take this.” What is a good state? A good state means we know how to take it, but all the states are revealed from the broken root of our soul. And therefore, agreeing that everything that's revealed is for the best, and all we need to do is perform the corrections in the connections between us, and with the Creator, this is basically the direction for success.

Question (PT 23): (01:14:49) He writes that you have to establish the place of the Creator before the prayer, but the prayer comes from a place of deficiency, a place of incompleteness. So how can there be a prayer when one is already able to praise?

M. Laitman: I can't praise the Creator when He awakens in me all kinds of deficiencies. It all depends on my strength; on how much I don't surrender to these states that are appearing now. But I stand like a man, and everything that is revealed, I know how to work with it. I am in the group, surrounded by friends who are holding me, supporting me, reinforcing me. I'm just one from the Ten, out of the Ten. And whatever is revealed to each one of us is revealed to all of us together. We're like mountain climbers. We're all tied to one another, and therefore watching over each other. And that's it.

Student: Again, I want to try to make it more precise. If I already reach a state of praise, There is None Else Besides Him, He is Good Who Does Good, and everything is for the good. And even if I see it as if it's not for the good, then “I have eyes but see not.” If I'm already in that praise, then where is this deficiency from which a prayer should emerge from the bottom of the heart? I already did that work of praise.

M. Laitman: What praise? What are you praising?

Student: Praise for the fact that He is the supervisor, He's Good and doing good.

M. Laitman: So you praised Him, but what do you need to do next?

Student: This is what I'm asking now. So where does the true deficiency come from if I was already able to praise Him? From where does the true deficiency come for a prayer from the bottom of the heart?

M. Laitman: But you haven't done anything with the situation for now. You're only thanking the Creator that whatever He's given you, He's given you in the right way. He's showing you his broken vessel. But that doesn't complete the correction of the Kli, the vessel. You understand? Where in this praise did you come to similarity, to equivalence of form?

Student: Well, in that praise, at least I discovered the oppositeness. That is true, I understand that.

M. Laitman: So now there are further steps to take, to advance. How do you do them?

Student: First of all, I'm grateful for the oppositeness that He's showing to me.

M. Laitman: You've done that already. Next.

Student: And I ask to rise with faith above reason, so that this state is the best possible state in order to be in connection, reach adhesion, etc. Right, is that correct?

M. Laitman: Let's say it is. It's a little too much, but let's say for the sake of argument, yes. And?

Student: So again, I'm asking, where is the prayer here? If I raise, do I reach the state where I see this oppositeness? I understand it. And I'm saying, thank you very much.

M. Laitman: You haven't done anything yet. You only determined the situation, established it. You got it from the Creator, and you got it in order to work. Now what? Basically, you haven't done anything by yourself other than determining the situation.

Student: That's true.

M. Laitman: So?

Student: So that's what I'm asking now. What is the continuation from here?

M. Laitman: From here, there needs to be a continuation. Continuation. You need to continue from here. You determined; I got it from the Creator. That's my initial point. He showed me a bad situation. Now what do I do?

Student: I ask that this state will become, well, not that it will change, but first of all, I don't know.

M. Laitman: So you see that only here the work starts.
