Part 1: Rabash. Record 382. “When Pharaoh Sent the People.”

Hello, we're reading one of Rabash's articles, Article number 382, When Pharaoh Sent the People. The study material is on our website. You can also ask questions live or through the websites. Rav, please.

M. Laitman: Yes, let's first read the article. It's short. Maybe we'll even read it twice. And after that, we will talk about it. We have two other articles besides it.

Reading Article: (00:48) “When Pharaoh Sent the People.”

“And it came to pass that when Pharaoh sent the people, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, for it was near since God said, ‘The people might change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.’ So God led the people around by the way of the desert to the Red Sea.”

M. Laitman: That means the exile is expanding by a lot, and it all comes from above, according to the word of the Creator, that this is what He wanted. That the people would not be able to escape in any other direction, but to leave Egypt and will not return to Egypt. And it will be an exit, as an exit should be.

Reader Continues: (02:00) We must interpret this according to the prevalent reality. When one wants to walk on the path of truth, each one asks, “Why?”

“And it came to pass that when Pharaoh sent the people,” meaning that the body as a whole is called “Pharaoh,” and he must choose to let the people come out, meaning all the powers and thoughts will be the Creator’s and not under his control. This means that all his powers will serve the body, but he will use them for the sake of the Creator.

Why did the Creator let them walk to the holy land—a land flowing with milk and honey, which the Creator promised to give the inheritance of the land to our holy fathers—through the faraway road and did not give them the near road, as it is written, “And God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, for it was near.”

“Near” and “far” means that which is close to the mind, which the mind approves of doing. Also, it should be close to the heart, to coincide with one’s heart, meaning what the will to receive feels is to its own benefit, as it was with Adam HaRishon before the sin, when the scrutiny was by bitter and sweet, as it is written in the “Introduction to Panim Masbirot.”

M. Laitman: That's it. That's all of the article. That's it, altogether. Any questions? No, so let's read again. I'll read.

M. Laitman: Rav Re-reading Article: (04:36) And it came to pass that when Pharaoh sent the people, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, for it was near. Meaning, why they directed the people of Israel to leave Egypt not in the near way, as they run,

because that's how it's meant to be when you come out of exile. The Creator organized for them the far way, that they will do these circuits as they leave Egypt and come back to their land. Why? So, it is written that they will not see the war and all the problems they're going to have and would want to return back to Egypt.

So, God led the people around by the way of the desert and the Red Sea. Meaning by the time they exited Egypt, it wasn't just an exit. Meaning, that they didn't just cross to the Sinai Peninsula, but they walked down to the Red Sea, and then crossed the Red Sea, literally through the water in the sea, and then they came to the Sinai Peninsula.

We must interpret this according to the prevalent reality. When one wants to walk on the path of truth, each one asks, why?

“And it came to pass that when Pharaoh sent the people,” meaning that the body as a whole is called “Pharaoh,” and he must choose to let the people come out, meaning all the powers and thoughts will be the Creator’s and not under his control. This means that all his powers will serve the body, but he will use them for the sake of the Creator. And not for the sake of Pharaoh. That's what the Creator wants them to understand.

And the far that the mind rejects something and does not want to uphold it. It's far away from the mind. It's far away from the agreement.

Also, it should be close to the heart, to coincide with one’s heart, meaning what the will to receive feels is to its own benefit, as it was with Adam HaRishon before the sin, when the scrutiny was by bitter and sweet, as it is written in the “Introduction to Panim Masbirot.” And also in other places, meaning that this is resembling the scrutiny that Adam HaRishon had. Okay, let’s see what we have here.

Question (Turkiye 2): (09:49) What happens when Pharaoh chooses to let the people come out?

M. Laitman: You need to read this history. You need to read the Bible, that there it is written that the people worked very hard in Egypt and wanted to escape from there, and Pharaoh held them there until he received blows on himself, health, family, and equities, and then he said, you leave. Otherwise, he sees that he is losing the whole state, and then the people exited. So, what did he ask?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:14) Why Pharaoh?

M. Laitman: Why did Pharaoh agree to send the people? Because initially, he did not want to, but after ten blows that he received in Egypt, it was a complete calculation for him, and then the people that came out of Egypt. They exited at night. They left with whatever they wanted, and also even the Egyptians escorted them a little bit as well, those of them who wanted to leave Egypt with all the cattle. They took a lot with them, and vessels, not that they literally stole it from them, but that's how it came to be, that they could take a lot.

Question (Turkiye 2): (12:50) Here, the people create a bestowal, for that reason, that Pharaoh let them go away from Egypt. Did Pharaoh let them out because they created a vessel of bestowal?

M. Laitman: Pharaoh already understood that he could not hold them back, that it would be for his demise, that Egypt may fall if they stayed there, and that's why he has let them leave, let them come out.

Question (Moldova): (14:01) I have a question. It's really bothering me. Why did the Creator never allow Moshe to enter the promised land?

M. Laitman: Because the Israelites who were in Egypt gave Egypt a lot of profits and that's why Pharaoh did not want to let them leave. On the contrary, he thought that the damage that they will cause by leaving Egypt will be too great. Only after the blows, the punishments, that Moses did from above through the Creator, then Pharaoh agreed for them to quickly leave Egypt because he could not stand the blows anymore. Egypt has endured the punishment of the sun, the punishment of the elder, and there were a few more, and they could not stand it. That's how Pharaoh agreed and gave them permission to leave.

Question: (Women MAK 25): (15:53) Can you please explain why do we need this very long way through the desert and not through the near, the closest path with the Philistines?

M. Laitman: I think that it's not because of the Pharaoh. I think that also Moses did not want them to leave Egypt so quickly. He wanted them to leave Egypt in a quick manner, but not in the short way. Simple and all. This is how it turned out.

I don't have a map in front of me, but if you would look at Egypt where they were, you will see that they walked instead of directly to… at the time they didn't have the Suez Canal, so they could walk through the land to the Sinai Peninsula. Instead, they walked down where the Red Sea is, and that's where the tearing of the Red Sea was. And then Moses did his prayer. The ocean splits, and they've crossed and entered Sinai.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (17:18) So why did they do the whole round? Why not direct to Israel? Why go around?

M. Laitman: Because Moses was afraid that the short way might awaken the Israelites to return back. That they will see so close ahead waves and a sea, and they would want to return. That's one thing. And the second thing, it’s okay, we will talk about it later.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (17:58) The friend from Moldova asks, why did the Creator not let Moses get into the promised land?

M. Laitman: Moses cannot. He eventually agreed. Moses brought them close to Mount Sinai and ascended Mount Sinai and received from the Creator the tablets of the covenant. They crossed through the entire Sinai Desert to the land of Israel, difficult, and there, at the entrance to the land of Israel, He blessed them, and they continued walking. And he, with a few of his entourage exited again through the river that was cutting a divide between Israel to Egypt.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:39) His question was: Why Moses, the leader, did not enter Israel with them?

M. Laitman: Moses could not enter Israel.

Student: Why?

M. Laitman: That was, how to explain to you, it is like a short circuit in electricity. That if Moses had entered Israel, then, so to say, he would have caused the end of correction in the land of Israel. And that cannot happen for now. That's it. That's why he went through the Jordan River, through it, and went up, ascended Mount Nebo, and there he sat, at the top of Mount Nebo, and that's where he passed away. That's it.

Some say, as it is written in the Torah, to this day, we still do not know where his burial place is. Some say the opposite, that they know where he passed away, and this place is a holy place. There is a holy place that is named after him. You can go there, and you can visit, but we don't usually do so. That's it.

Question (Women MAK 12): (22:06) Pharaoh is our ego. And before we can exit Egypt, each man needs to feel the ten blows in his ego, and everything that goes on in the world, the wars, all the whole general ego needs to feel before we mutually exit Egypt?

M. Laitman: Yes or no. We can depict to ourselves that all these discomforts, to say the least, that we receive throughout all these generations, these are all in order to correct our ego. That's why the fact that the Creator held this tribe of Israelites and did not give them straight away to come closer to the end of correction because they still did not have the vessel which was prepared for that, meaning sorrow and repentance and so forth. Now we, so to say, have it. I think that if today there were such a show as it used to be back then with the entirety of the people, then we would have attained the place of the temple. And it would have been re-established quickly.

Student: What interrupted? That we don't have enough connection?

M. Laitman: Of course, we are lacking from everything, completely from everything. The main thing is the connection between us.

Question (Women MAK 86): (24:51) You partially answered that, that Moses did not enter Israel because he did not have enough great vessels. My question is, you just said now that before that we need to kill in us the point of Moses. But now I understand that we didn't even reveal it.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (English 1): (25:50) Here at the end it is indicated that in the original the word “Philistines” is composed of two halves: broadsword and stein. I didn’t quite catch the meaning. Can you explain?

M. Laitman: That does not matter. It's a small people. The Philistines caused many problems to our ancestors when they passed near.

Question (Women MAK 23): (26:21) The Creator did not lead the nation through the short way, however, through the long way. This is how we need to go through?

M. Laitman: The long way, yes. And here we are, going all over the world, around the world.

Question (Women MAK 98): (26:59) So it turns out that the Creator leads everyone with faith above reason, so they want to come back? Why did they want to come back? They wanted to exit.

M. Laitman: Yes, they wanted to exit, but as you can see, they had their luggage of all sorts of sins, and that's why because of that they could not quietly exit.

Question (Women Italy): (27:32) My question is also about faith. Does this journey through the desert have to do with the strengthening of the faith of the people?

M. Laitman: Yes, of course. The entire reason why there are all these journeys, the Israelites through the desert and all sorts of things. Even today, we need to prepare ourselves to receive the light of faith.

Question (Tbilisi): (28:43) To show the whole of the exit of Egypt. It looks like you taking us, leading us out of Egypt, right? You are our Moses. What I wanted to say is, that not only me, but all of us, don't remember another Kabbalist who had so many students just like you, that treated in such bestowal to his students. And we love you so much and we are grateful, and we know that you led us out of Egypt.

M. Laitman: I will try. Just hold on together.

Question (Women MAK 113): (29:42) I will say as well, we can today feel ourselves as the same as the people of Israel, that in order to move on to a better life, you need to experience all the states. And together with the teacher to go through this path of correction. It's a very tough and long path. And we have hope that we will reach it because we have a teacher and we want to unite around you, dear teacher. Creator, help us with that.

M. Laitman: Thank you very much. We will ask the Creator and He will help us.

Question (Women Moscow 8): (30:36) It turns out that if we, till now, we go through life, then we've attained the Creator so far?

M. Laitman: Yes, and in the world, there are no longer new souls. And we need to understand that everything is ready and that we will approach the final stage of the correction.

Question (Women MAK): (31:21) What scrutinies do we do in the work? And how do we check ourselves to stay in bestowal and not to fall back to reception?

M. Laitman: How to check yourself if it's in order to bestow, in order not to fall into reception? This is what we've been checking, that we need to prefer the connection, and apart from the connection, we need to rise to the Creator. We don't need anything but that. If we stand by those two conditions, we will find ourselves in the same spot, and we will receive the light of redemption.

Student: How does the Ten in all of its spiritual path need to check itself from all sides that everything would be in order to bestow and to give to the Creator and to have good results?

M. Laitman: It depends on how you're going to be connected between yourselves. Only by that. Only by the mutual connection between you.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (32:45) I was not able to understand how they could attain the end of correction if they didn't have the correct vessels for it. Was it only on account of Moses?

M. Laitman: Why?

Student: Because if I heard you correctly, you said that Moses was afraid to enter Israel because they would have had the end of correction, and they still didn't have the vessels.

M. Laitman: No, no. The calculation with Moses is a different calculation with the Israeli people, the Israeli nation.

Student: So how can there be such a state where they reach the end of correction not at the time?

M. Laitman: Then there was the final correction, but not in time. The vessels were not ready. The deficiency was not revealed.

Student: Since then, what happened with this nation? Did they want to accumulate suffering?

M. Laitman: Yes, since then we received lots of blows and suffering, and it is correct for today that we are ready.

Student: So now Moses should be revealed again?

M. Laitman: No. He did his job and he brought us to stand in front of the Creator, and we are in front of the Creator, and we can demand the final correction.

Student: But these people, they need spiritual guidance to nevertheless lead it?

M. Laitman: No, no, no. It's in spirituality, not in corporeality.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (34:38) Sorry for asking about Moses. He suffers throughout this process, even when he works in front of the people. It's hard for him because he prepares the whole people. How can you bring Moses contentment as well? What is the promise Moses got besides taking them out of Egypt, which is the path? Does he get anything? How does he get any contentment from all his work?

M. Laitman: He receives contentment by connecting himself, Israel, to the Creator, and thanks to Him, this nation comes to the grand correction.

Student: So, the people are always with him in connection, spiritual connection?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 93): (35:49) There is a movie on Moses that tells the story that we are talking about right now, and it is from different aspects of specialists of what's written in the Torah.

M. Laitman: My dear, we are not interested in that. Not about the movie, and not what's in it. We have other sources.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (36:28) Do you recommend watching movies that describe the history of the exodus from Egypt and Moses?

M. Laitman: I don't know. I watched it once, but it's not like what she is saying.

Student: There is now a very successful series about Moses that depicts the history, whatever happened there. The question is, can it help us understand the message, or can it just confuse us, with all this drawing?

M. Laitman: It can confuse us more. I am sure that if anyone wants to reach the truth, he will not go through the movies.

Question (Women MAK 26): (37:27) You said that now there are no new souls. It turns out that we could have gone out of Egypt, and now there is a new Exodus. If we left Egypt already, there was already a state where the world came out of Egypt?

M. Laitman: We don't need to enter Egypt. We only need to connect with the same spiritual root that we belong to, and that's enough. In order to feel and to enter the state of final correction.

Student: Was there an exit already?

M. Laitman: The exit already happened, and apart from that, we don't need to do anything.

Question (Women Moscow 5): (38:41) The exodus from Egypt, if I understand correctly this is the last stage of this corporeal world, egoistic world, that if we go through this line, we start to feel the love, the bestowal of the Creator. Is there any transition there that each and every one of us, of the groups, the Tens, what is this transformation that we have over there?

M. Laitman: This is the final correction that is called final correction. It happens when a group of Kabbalists with the leading of Moses, as it was at the beginning when he led us out of Egypt and connected to the Creator with the Torah on Mount Sinai, and by that, they reached the final correction.

Which means that all of that has happened. The only thing that today we, in a spiritual manner, not under any circumstance to go to Mount Sinai and to climb. Today we need, within, inside ourselves, that each and every one is ready for us to unite. Again, inside ourselves, when the hearts get closer, and then we will feel in the mutual heart a state that is called one nation, one heart. And this is where the history is leading us. Everything that is happening in the world is happening only so we will complete it. We live in the most joyful period. That's it.

Student: (42:11) Does that mean that we can connect so much so, that we have that much responsibility over everyone? That we can help all of humanity to come out of Egypt?

M. Laitman: Yes, correct, that's right.

Student: Because if I understand that the world is in Egypt then everything that happens, it's only work.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Uzbekistan): (42:47) We are in Uzbekistan on the way to Israel, and now we will have an amazing convention in Israel, the Passover convention. And after that, on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of May, we will have the Congress convention here in Uzbekistan, and we came to prepare for all that during these great days. What can you recommend for us?

M. Laitman: Connection in the heart, that's all we need. Not in words. On the contrary, to feel it in the heart that the friends are with you, and you all together want to connect the hearts and that one heart the Creator will fill.

Question (Azerbaijan): (44:15) I'm a little beast in my own beastly world. I've read my books, and in me, there's a quality called Moses. I'm very scared to lose even time until the study of the ten Sefirot lessons. What do you recommend that we can add so the hearts, as you said before, will connect?

M. Laitman: I don't know how much you connected with the friends, but today people do not sit. However, it can be that each and every one is in his own business and in the Arvut system, and each and every one is moving from place to place. What I recommend is to read the articles that we already read about Passover. What Rabash has been writing for us. Everything is written there.

Student: To read the articles again?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Kyiv): (45:34) How to depict to yourself that the group, or your Ten that we have exited Egypt? What does it look like? What is this state? Maybe in an external manner something was added to us?

M. Laitman: No, no, no, not external, only internal, which means you exit Egypt, which means that you connect between yourselves to the point as much as you can connect between yourselves, and apart from that you connect with all the world Kli which is a big amount of people. Truly, I would say that we cannot depict to ourselves how many are we, some hundreds of thousands and we need to think about that. How can we support all the friends in a way that they will not fall, they will not get tired? Now it's the main thing. The closer we get to the goal; this is how each step is more.

Student: How does it work, let's say, towards the Ten and then towards the greater vessel? Is it individuals that usually come out of Egypt or it's the entire Ten all at once?

M. Laitman: As a matter of fact, this is the whole Ten. As a matter of fact, it's the whole world Kli.

Student: A practical question. We have, for example, eleven friends in the Ten. There are friends that come to the lesson every day and there are friends that don't come to the lesson every day. So, are we going to exit Egypt, and everything will stay the same or everybody will receive additional importance, and everybody will feel the importance of the goal and be in every lesson?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, that's how it's going to be. We will have more importance, more understanding, more feelings and we will strive for more connection between us until the whole world will connect to us.

Question (Women Azerbaijan): (48:36) The question is as such. When we say about all the souls that were broken, that they are from the souls of Adam HaRishon, does that mean that the souls that exited Egypt and the souls that are gathering now will be corrected and reach the end of the correction? Is that the meaning?

M. Laitman: There are in the world the same amount of souls, and those souls split into parts and those parts get corrected and then they connect again to one whole, and this is how it all continues. Just like a puzzle that assembles itself. We are in a state that we want to draw ourselves to the goal, the mutual goal, to rise ourselves over there and with us to rise more people, some thousands of people that belong to us. As a matter of fact, it's more than thousands. It's hundreds of thousands, but this is how it is.

Soon we will exit, and we will see that. After that, we will connect more and more and we will be able to receive more understanding in our connection this way we can progress forward, advance towards the final correction and we will reveal Adam and Eve, what are those angels, and so on. Which means that we will achieve and attain in a different way the system of the living, the living system.

Student: Meaning after us we will draw those regular people who are not in spirituality?

M. Laitman: Yes, and we will teach them and with that, we will teach them what we study, which learning, and we will teach those people that come to study.

Student: When my Ten is whining then my motivation drops. How to elevate myself and them? I pray I write the deficiencies, but they still don't want to work.

M. Laitman: Move to another Ten.

Student: No, but I love them.

M. Laitman: Why do you love them? What do you love about them?

Student: I don't know.

M. Laitman: You can't do it this way. You need to be in the same team with friends that are going towards the goal.

Student: We are a group of friends but we want to gather and we want and we want, but we will read sources, we will read Hebrew, we will do workshops and then we leave all that. We don't realize all that. The fact that I am crying out and I don't know how to exit and I don't know. How to reach a good point? How to do everything that I wouldn't be left with only half?

M. Laitman: I don't know. I don't know how to help you. I don't know.

Student: So, I will pray more.

M. Laitman: Ask from the friends from Turkiye. There are some very strong friends there. I understand. So, I understand that you don't have much of a choice because in Turkiye there are many groups of very strong women.

Question (PT 6): (53:28) Sometimes you say that we are not yet in Egypt we haven't gone down to Egypt to the exile, and sometimes you say: Go on, let's exit Egypt. So, where are we exactly?

M. Laitman: How do you think? What do you think?

Student: I think that in order to exit Egypt we need to first be in faith above reason just to enter Egypt. Is it correct?

M. Laitman: Okay. Let it be the way you think.

Question ( Women Kavkaz 1): (54:28)  In the person's spiritual work it's the Moses who led through the long path, and it says about it that if a person made a decision to follow the Creator, they need to take a different desire, but then he needs to be strengthened in it and to feel how much it is appreciated, how much this path and this decision to connect with the Creator. Besides recognizing all that and knowing all that, what helps each time to make this choice?  Besides my recognition of this background, that in order to develop the desire you need recognition which is good.

M. Laitman: What helps a person not to fall back not to look backward? It's only the connection between the friends, only the connection between the friends. I cannot advise anything else.

Question (Women MAK 86): (55:48) In the article it was talking about the near way and the far way can we say that the near way is everything that relates to our ego to reception? And the long one is what Moses took us through and that's bestowal?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Heb 2): (56:17) What do you say are we in front of the Creator directly and we don't need Moses to negotiate? What does it mean that we are directly in front of the Creator, and we don't need Moses to negotiate?

M. Laitman: Why not? Moses is with us until we are separated, until we pass the Jordan and then we come to stand against the Israeli country, and we need Moses. We need him more.

Student: Moses is the quality of love and in us in the Ten? How to understand it correctly in the Ten, Moses and the Creator.

M. Laitman: The complete connection in the Ten is Moses. There is nothing more important, closer to us than Moses.

Student: How do we awaken constantly in us the Moses within us, the quality of bestowal in the Ten, and lessen the hating powers in our Ten that we really feel the forces that work on us through the spirit of Passover?

M. Laitman: Take your friends and hug each other. Wanting this hug to bestow to others only good, only good, and then you will feel in that mutual force that there is Moses. He must be there. Can you invite him in such action?

Student: How to invite him, Rav? How to invite the Moses. Now in the Ten is the time of separation. How to invite Moses?

M. Laitman: In the heart, in the heart.

Question (Women PT 33): (58:54) You said that we only need to connect with that spiritual root that we belong to and that's enough in order to enter a state that is called the end of correction, and besides that we don't need to do anything. The question is: What do we need to hold in the heart and mind that will bring us closer to that state that you depicted?

M. Laitman: that we will enter one heart all of us together, and then that's where we stay.

Student: That's what we want, and what does this one heart want? A heart is a desire?

M. Laitman: That we will be only in one desire, one heart.

Student: Broken?

M. Laitman: No not broken. To enter into one heart complete.

Student: What is that desire, what does it hold?

M. Laitman: That this complete desire will swallow us.

Student: So, we don't necessarily know what this desire is just aim towards there and it will swallow us up?

M. Laitman: Yes.

M. Laitman: I will say goodbye. We have half a day in front of us to go towards Passover. Prepare yourself for tomorrow morning. When do we burn the Hametz?

Moderator: We are burning Hametz tomorrow at ten in the morning outside the building.
