Daily Morning Lesson: June 20, 2025
Part 3: Winning the War – Selected excerpts to reinforce the World Kli and for peace in the world. Sub heading: Fighting the evil inclination Excerpt #4
Reader: We will begin our lesson, but before the study materials, we just wanted to remind the world's Kli. We saw that we had a little technical problem at the beginning of the lesson. The Technology Department are right now upgrading everything, all the systems, so let's think about them, send them good thoughts and light, I think it will be much better in the upcoming days. And now, we read Excerpts on the subject of Winning The War, Selected Excerpts to enforce the world's Kli, and for peace in the world. We are now in Excerpt 4, Rabash, Letter 5.
Reading: (00:48) 4. RABASH, Letter No. 5
And when you feel that you are at war, each of you will know and feel that he needs the help of his friend, and without him, his own strength will wane, as well. Then, when you understand that you must save your life, each of you will forget he has a body he must preserve, and you will both be tied by the thought of how to defeat the enemy.
M. Laitman: Meaning that if a person truly wants to fight his evil inclination, and he's not imagining some other thing to himself. Then he has no choice but to detect that evil inclination. Ad then certainly he'll feel how weak he is opposite his evil inclination and how much he needs the support of the society, the support of the Creator. Because without them, he just immediately loses the sense of the Creator, the path, the friends, all of it, which has to be the engine that leads him to adhesion with the Creator. He's just not going to feel that it exists; but, rather, specifically, the reasons that he knew in advance that he's working with, he advances towards the purpose of creation, the purpose of life, so that now disappears from him. And so the main thing that we learn is to depict to ourselves an army that we are standing within it – or even heading it – and we're going to fight with the Creator. You could say more accurately that we're going to fight our evil inclination and the Creator remains on the sideline. We will better and better depict ourselves adhered to the Creator or detached and remote from our evil inclination.
Question (Türkiye 1): (04:44) What should a person do if he doesn't feel at war? What should a person do if he doesn't feel that he is at war?
M. Laitman: Only to make an effort to connect with the thoughts and the problems that he reveals in his war with the evil inclination, connect with him. Because he has no more opportunities and forces. The Creator opened up everything for him, all the rest that a person needs to open up in the ladder of degrees, that depends on the labor. How much a person adds, gives to his work with the evil inclination.
Question (Kiev 1): (06:17) I, myself, should initiate the war against the evil inclination? To step on it, to attack it? Or am I on the defensive just trying to defend against...
M. Laitman: No, in the war, there's a goal, and you have to be aimed at the goal; without that, there's no progress. And so, we'll also see it written in the next excerpt that we have to connect between us and see how our thoughts, our deeds, our goals, we, ourselves. We're connecting to a single common force, and that common force is that which triumphs and defeats all of what is harmful, the harmful desires that awaken within us and hurt us with respect to the Creator. And so, we have to be well-organized in connection between us against the Creator. And against the Creator means against how the Creator is sending to us all sorts of disturbances.
Question (Merkaz 1): (08:03) When does a person discover for the first time that the evil inclination governs him?
M. Laitman: When he discovers it, when a person already has the force to stand and push away the evil inclination by himself. And try to reach a prayer, a request from the Creator for the good inclination.
Student: How does he know that he's not just imagining things, that it's truly the evil inclination?
M. Laitman: He sees that by the good inclination, he can get closer to the Creator, feel the Creator, grasp the Creator, detect the Creator in a correct and permanent way. And the evil inclination, by that he just jumps from state to state. Where one time he thinks this is important, the other time he thinks that is important and he doesn't come to any permanent feeling.
Question (Holland): (09:33) You just told us that we need to fight the evil inclination and that the Creator is standing on the sideline. What does it mean that the Creator is standing on the sideline?
M. Laitman: We are fighting against our evil inclination, against the evil angel, and we don't see the Creator in front of us. Because, in the meantime, we are under concealment and therefore, what we do wish is that out of the concealment we will come to revelation. That the good inclination that we want to rule over us, in our prayer, we're asking that it will become revealed more and more and help us fight against our evil inclination.
Question (Moscow 1): (11:03) What should the right outcome of the war be? That we feel that we are losing and the Creator has to help?
M. Laitman: No, we don't need to feel that we are losing, we need to do everything possible to win every single battle, every single sortie against the Creator. And – how to say it – we, in advance, we have to envision to ourselves that as those who enter the work of the Creator, we are in contact with the Creator. And with that in connection with a foreign force, that doesn't want us to always be connected to the Creator; and if we imagine it this way to ourselves, then the neutral state, that to us will also be a good start.
Question (Türkiye 7): (12:48) When the evil inclination is revealed in the Ten, what kind of connection or common prayer could help us invert this evil inclination from evil to a positive force which connects us to the Creator? What is the work of the Ten in this situation?
M. Laitman: The Ten is that the friends, the members of the Ten, in order to grow with increasing and advancing force towards the Creator. The Ten has to study some material together, which is talking about redemption and progress, advancement. And that's how they'll feel that the Creator hears what's in their heart and mouth, and that's how they advance.
Question (W Moscow 6): (14:26) What assistance do we need to get from the friends?
M. Laitman: What kind of help we need from the friends? Support, support; that we won't replace them ourselves. We only need support, example, for the actions I'm doing that I receive from them, and I too want to realize.
Question (PT 11): (15:21) When a person turns to the Ten, it seems that he's removing the Creator from the equation. So, why is it good to turn to the Ten with a request for help?
M. Laitman: When a person turns for help, then he imagines to himself all of reality, which includes the Creator and his group, which yearns for the Creator. And at the end of the action he connects with his group to the Creator, and thus they advance.
Question (MAK 11): (16:24) If the friends don't show up to the morning lesson, how to relate to such friends with faith above reason, they're with me in the fight?
M. Laitman: The lesson is like a battlefield, when we get to a single place, it could be a physical place, a virtual place, still we try to depict ourselves together with the others, and the main thing is to be together with everyone in thought. And so to be virtually in a battlefield is not that I'm asleep and my dream, and I'm virtually dreaming about it with the friends. But rather I see everyone on the screen, like right now, and we're all together in the battlefield.
Student: Without a doubt, in our special path in this war, we feel how much we need the friends, more so every day, need the society. And here at the end of this excerpt, he says that we need to be united with one view, one opinion on how to defeat the enemy. What does it mean to defeat the enemy?
M. Laitman: The enemy is a force that always comes against us, in every way, in every garment, as we say in the wisdom of Kabbalah. And we have to detect it and reject it from our path, so it doesn't hinder our path.
Question (W PT 8): (19:17) The evil inclination knows how to disguise itself, such that it's very difficult to identify the evil inclination. And also, it feels like it's entering us through all our senses. So, from where does the person gain the strength to be in that war because sometimes we feel that we're missing the war? We feel that we don't have the power to fight.
M. Laitman: We have to try and not leave the connection with the friends and give that a lot of forces, power. To the point that we stop feeling ourselves and we only want to nullify inside the friends and be mingled with them in all the possible conditions.
Student: Should a person be exhausted in this war?
M. Laitman: It's not a goal but if he feels that he's exhausted, then what can he do? Then that's how he advances. Some have strength, some don't have strength and they're weak but both have to turn to the Creator and ask the Creator for more strength to advance, more force of bestowal.
Question (W Latin 26): (21:25) How can we help a friend when she's at war? In what way can I help a friend who is at war currently? When she's fighting this inner war, how can I help her?
M. Laitman: You get closer to her and you help her understand and feel, and process these disturbances that now awaken in her; and then we can go against those disturbances and separate ourselves from them, it's possible.
Question (PT 27): (22:43) We just heard that the lesson is like a battlefield. So what are we fighting over during the lesson?
M. Laitman: Our lesson is not like a University lesson or some other place. For us, it is truly a day in the battlefield because through our study, through our discussion, through hearing the Kabbalists together, we wish to rise above our ordinary level and enter a struggle with the disturbances that exist within us. And then, it turns out that all of us will see in front of us the force of the will to receive. And that force doesn't let us fully control the force of the Creator, bestowal, over the force of the Sitra Achra, the other side, the force of reception, and that's what we have to see. So, where can we crown the Creator above the forces that become revealed in us, revealed in me?
Question (Kiev 3): (24:59) What to do if I don't feel my evil inclination? Or, to the contrary, I do feel it, but I have nothing against it. I enjoy it and I want to get more and more of it?
M. Laitman: You need to make an inner calculation about what motivates you, what pushes you toward the purpose of creation, this is something you have to do in whatever way, shape, or form is given to you. What disconnects you from the purpose of creation is the evil inclination. And each time, from morning to evening, and in the evening, when you finish the day, you have to imagine yourself as under the control of the good inclination. After everything you've done during the day, that's your war.
Student: You said that the field of battle is the morning lesson. With us, the morning lesson, there are also discussions during the day and different activities. Is that also our field of battle?
M. Laitman: Yes, that is your battlefield, that is your battlefield. It doesn't have to happen when you hit that enemy, rather, the fact that you connect, it's worthwhile that each one discovers inside himself more negative qualities. This is the battlefield.
Question (PT): (27:23) He writes to us, here, that each one knows and feels that he needs the help of his friend, and without it, he will have weakened forces. How can you ask for help from friends from within?
M. Laitman: I think our entire work is when each one wants to become free of his evil inclination. And with all the remaining forces corrected, more or less, he wants to help the friends rise in the degrees of ascent.
Student: We always talk about that, about helping friends, but here he says that when he feels that he's weak, he needs his friend's help, and his own forces also become weaker.
M. Laitman: Of course, he feels that he has no powers with which to win over the evil inclination, but only the Creator can help him. Then, a good force will be revealed in him, and then he'll be able to win over the evil inclination.
Student: So, I understand from your words that it's the Creator here, it's not the friends that help.
M. Laitman: No, anything that can give you help.
Student: So, how do we ask help from friends, not with words, but with heart? How do we do that?
M. Laitman: I can't tell you how to ask for help from the friends. I don't know how to ask of the friends, it's typically difficult. But to come to it, according to our request where we turn to the Creator more and more. And then our evil inclination softens until I can feel through it, my friend, and I can ask for the force of connection between us.
Student: Meaning we need to turn to the Creator and ask Him for help to turn to the friends?
M. Laitman: Also that, yes.
Question (Tel Aviv 3): (50:30) Why is the evil inclination so convincing? It has the strongest arguments and the most focused ones, why?
M. Laitman: Because I'm looking at my environment, my friends, in such a way where they can't be together with me in the same group, embraced together with me. Taking a step together, another step together toward the Creator. I can't imagine ourselves like that, and that's the problem.
Student: The evil inclination mainly attacks the friends and the connection.
M. Laitman: Yes.
Student: What's the difference that I truly battle it, and that which I just ignore it and I deal with it?
M. Laitman: When you ignore it, then you simply exit the game, you're not participating. When you turn to those forces that are working together, you add to them the force of connection.
Student: What do you do with its’ complicated and smart, clever arguments?
M. Laitman: It's no problem, you can't answer on all its questions and meet all its conditions all at once, but it's not a problem. You'll see how they simply disappear.
Question (Focus Group): (33:11) Most of the time the person doesn't feel that he's at war, and when he does feel it, so then it feels like a personal war. How do we turn that to being a war of the Ten?
M. Laitman: According to the desire. In my desire, I wish to imagine myself that I'm in contact with everyone and all my friends also want to advance toward me.
Question (Latin 1): (34:01) According to what you said, that if precisely the evil inclination doesn't let us ask friends out of shame, pride and fear, so how do we exit that state in order to strengthen our inclination to a good one?
M. Laitman: By feeling the connection between us, by feeling the obligation to be as one man in one heart, more and more. We will feel the entire Ten, and in general all the Tens, as being together in one cauldron and in this way we advance. We need to depict it, illustrate it, talk about it in simple language, your lips, as it says. Then it will be easier for you to see your group and to talk about it from the point of view of the state you are going through.
Question (Türkiye 7): (36:02) What does it mean to deceive the hatred from the path or to rise above the hatred? How can we rise above hatred if we are prisoners of our egoistic emotions?
M. Laitman: But in order to try and ask for a spiritual ascent or to act in spirituality, I need a spiritual force, a force of bestowal. And it turns out that I have no choice, I am entirely locked inside my ego and I have no way of coming out of it – that's what I want to say.
Question (Bulgaria 1): (37:50) When we sing and dance like Rabash did, is that also a war?
M. Laitman: Of course, it's also a war, but it depends on what you're thinking about: Why are you dancing, what's for, does your heart want to include all the friends inside of it or not? What is the meaning, what is the power that you give birth to in this dance, in this embrace with the friends? What do you hope to attain in it? What do you hope to attain with it? That's most important.
Question (PT 35): (38:58) I feel, not one time, that many friends think that the solution, that they can solve it alone and not with friends. We have many disturbances in the connection between us. And I'm asking a question: How can we let a friend, every friend, feel that we are in this campaign, in this war together? How do we cause each friend to feel that we are in this war together?
M. Laitman: The fact that I feel myself disconnected from my Ten, that we're not about to do some action together. Rather, each one is participating in something that we organized, like a morning lesson and an evening lesson. And each one can come and participate or not show up tomorrow, that's completely not good, that's incorrect, and I don't think we should continue this way. Rather, we need to go toward the connection in our Tens, each one in his Ten, where he practically wants, interested in, wants to connect all of his friends into one friend, to one body.
Student: That's a problem because we see many friends who have certain problems, and it disturbs them to come and connect, and we want to help them. But the friends don't let us, they block us, they don't let us help them, on one hand. And on the other hand, they also don't come here to connect and to receive that help. So how, in any case, other than prayer to the Creator, certainly, which we also do, what else is there to do on a day-to-day basis?
M. Laitman: Other than praying to the Creator, I don't know what to do. Eventually, we'll all come to a deficiency for that, prayer to the Creator, since only He knows how to help. What should we do?
Question (W KabU 2): (42:05) My Ten is great, there's no problem there. The problem is mine, I feel the war, what I'm not grasping is the quality of the fight. How do I balance the will to receive and the will to bestow, what is that quality of the middle line?
M. Laitman: Very good question, very complex. In a sense, this is a question about adhesion: What we can attain in adhesion, is our effort face-to-face with everyone or not? So, he explains to us, Baal HaSulam, that from all these states, to be face-to-face with the forces of nature, that is possible. And for that, we need to come closer and to get accustomed to it, so, let's do it, let's do it.
Question (W Beer Sheva 10): (44:30) In the war with the evil inclination, are there questions that are preferable not to ask? That are possible to, that can just get rid of a person from the path? Because I've seen that there are many, many questions, and then in the end, people just leave. So are there questions that we should not ask?
M. Laitman: There are questions that we don't give ourselves permission to ask, to raise them in prayer, there are such questions. Some of them, we don't know how to solve by ourselves, we don't know how to rid ourselves of them. Part of them, we don't quite understand what's happening if we start to deal with them. But in truth, questions exist.
Student: Is it possible to identify when it's a forbidden question?
M. Laitman: Is there a way to identify a forbidden question? No, if we can't feel that the question itself, when it's coming out into the air, it's not going to push friends apart from each other, then there's room for it. Do you have such questions? We have to think about it.
Student: There are always questions, all the time.
M. Laitman: Always? Why don't you ask it?
Student: Not to disturb the friends.
M. Laitman: No, no, no.
Question (W HEB 1): (46:58) When a person feels that he's doing everything possible, the person wants to oppose that, resist that. He wants to turn to the Creator, but he doesn't know if he turns to the Creator, and he's holding a discussion with that force. How can I differentiate whether I'm actually turning to the Creator?
M. Laitman: I didn't understand.
Student: How can I truly turn my prayer to the Creator, so that I know that I'm aiming at the Creator? Because many times I'm holding a discussion with my enemy and not with the Creator, so how do I know that I'm truly turning to Him?
M. Laitman: If your goal, your intention is to reach bestowal, to reach support, to ask the Creator to help us, to help any of us or the entire world Kli. Then it's a correct request, the request is correct.
Student: So, I need to feel that in my heart that I'm turning to Him? And if I'm feeling that, then I'm turning to Him?
M. Laitman: No, you can feel it or not feel it, that's an individual feeling.
Student: So, how can I make it so it's not just a personal feeling in the work?
M. Laitman: Try to turn your feeling to a general feeling, a collective feeling of the group, the Ten.
Question (W Türkiye): (49:33) What can a person do when each day he just reveals how he's worse and worse? What should he do when he reaches the point where he cannot tolerate himself, up to a point where he's afraid of himself, what should he do?
M. Laitman: Calm down, understand that what opened up to him within himself, where he feels things that are not fresh in him, let's put it this way. He is ultimately just revealing his own nature, and now it's just a matter of opening himself up more so the light of the Creator will enter him. And the light of the Creator is, as we say, He will take another step forward. And then he will see how much worse he is compared to what he was, he can see himself better, yes? And he can also see the correct way things should be. So please, do it this way, or that way. Play with this state and you'll see how to ask the Creator for correction and for advancement is better, is preferred, is more pleasant, is more, it's the right thing to do, and you'll continue in this way.
Question (MAK 3): (52:18) Can we battle instead of a friend who fell, etc?
M. Laitman: Practically, no, you need to be tightly connected to one another to replace each other under all circumstances. And then in some of the circumstances, when you are separate, when you are distant, you can also replace the friend, but it's not for now, it will happen.
Student: How can we help the friend, even before he enters the battlefield?
M. Laitman: Invite him to participate with us in the campaign.
Question (Unity 3): (53:17) Who at the end battles the evil inclination, us or the Creator?
M. Laitman: Laitman: The Creator.
Student: And how can we help?
M. Laitman: By pushing him toward it, by supporting him, only in this way.
Student: Through our constant connection?
M. Laitman: Yes, yes.
Question (PT 17): (53:48) Is, defeating the enemy, does it mean that we feel together his force?
M. Laitman: We don't need to feel the force of the enemy so much, we need to feel in its place the helping force, the connecting force, The One, Unique And Unified Force.
Student: And in order to turn to that single force, should we feel the force that divides us?
M. Laitman: No
Question (Novosibirsk): (54:38) When, during the day, a person feels that he's in a true battle and he has no honest prayer and no incorporation in the friends. So the advice is to develop that thought, and I paid attention to that the evil inclination fights against the value of that thought. It says that if your prayer is not honest, so don't even start, there's no meaning to it. So, how can a thought for the friend, this effort, how does it give the friends forces to battle?
M. Laitman: I need to take a few such instances and place them one against the other, and then it'll be clear how to divide them, organize them.
Question (W Unity): (55:45) When we feel a strong influence of the Creator upon us, our effort is in using the force of the group in order to come to an inner calmness? Or should we, with these efforts, feel that the Creator is receiving contentment from it, because it says that in Him our heart is happy.
M. Laitman: Our heart rejoices only in the point of adhesion of our qualities with the Creator's qualities. Today, nevertheless, we were able to have such a discussion. Let's prepare really well for tomorrow's lesson. And now, they'll tell us what we'll have tomorrow, what we'll have ahead of tomorrow, and I'm expecting you all here will step forward.
