*Parashat Beresheet (Genesis) - Selected Excerpts from the Sources #59*
1. Rav’s Introduction: We were given a force, the will to receive which rules and dwells in us and we depend on it and only through it can we feel anything, we need to build a new world a different, upper world, above our matter, above our desires and thoughts, an opposite world. The world of bestowal and love, outside of us towards the Creator in order to do exercises towards this we do it towards other people. This is why we are given a society the ten, exercises until we grasp what does it mean above reason above our desire, above our desire, how is it possible to be above it in that seemingly I am clothing outside of me, above me in others and I operate in them. I want to leave my sensation that I feel of myself, abandon what is good for me what is bad for me rather everything is towards others. Let's see what our teachers tell us because this is really what the Torah is talking about but mostly in the Genesis portion, also called the dust of the ground that is our original desire which is the ground the dust, and then there is the other desire which is good. We need to reach a state where are will to receive rises from the animate level and it reaches the level of the speaking which means the level of Adam, human similar to the Creator and then we feel ourselves above our matter, in our thoughts and desires, above our matter what we feel now to be above that. All of the difference between two degrees is to what extent I can rise above myself and enter into the collective, into the public, into the connection with the ten and in that there is no quantitative difference but the difference is qualitative. So my heart and mind gets new discernments which are not from this world, there I get rid of myself and I start to enter into the collective.

This means that maybe he felt deficiencies but those are deficiencies that he felt are those which has to do with his level, where he is, like me I am alive, I want to drink, sleep, eat, to have a good time to achieve something, but it's all pertains to this world. While regarding the upper world, what is the other world, how can I want it, I can imagine it like this world but I want more, and that is not correct because the difference between the worlds, between the degrees is an essential difference and it is not something that is here and there it is a little bit more. This is why we need to try to achieve a greater deficiency for that higher spiritual degree, which we don't have yet so the whole wisdom of Kabbalah wants to awaken us for a deficiency for a higher degree than what each one feels in his present state

4. R. Just like Adam without the sin, he has everything he doesn't need anything, he doesn’t lack anything, but he cannot add anything, he doesn't even understand what it means to advance.

5. R. This means that the most important in the work of the Creator on the person is to show the person that the person is not complete that his state is a limited state that he does not really understand and feel what this happening to him even in his vessels of reception and that he cannot exist without discovering for himself the higher world because otherwise he remains an animal. That's why the Creator has to perform different manipulations on the person, different actions, so he feels uncomfortable and out of this feeling he starts to search why is it uncomfortable and in what way it is bad. Then through many different states he reaches the realization, the revelation that it is not about life in this world, but what is truly lacking is to know the essence of life, the purpose of life, the source of life, to discover the Creator. This is really what we go through in order to have a deficiency for the revelation of the Creator and out of that we come to a state of how to be similar to him, how to bestow to him and so on many states, many actions, degrees which one after the other bring us to the true purpose each time. Each and every degree reveals to us the higher reason, the higher means and the hoping as we go against the forces, force of bestowal and of reception and in between the two forces and it is mostly in faith above reason. How much disconnect from the ego and driven to feel understand think like the higher degree, it is like a little child who is looking at the adult and wants to understand what do they want from me, in general what do we think, what we want. He looks at our mouth and he wants to drink, he wants to swallow up our state, but he cannot but through this effort he grows and he understands even if we don't explain to him he just gets it from the yearning this is how the degrees are arranged. This is how we need to try to be drawn but together because unlike the child here our inclination to spirituality is the proper inclination through connection with us, there everybody annuls the self and then the reveal the upper force when the 10 reach connection to 1 and then the next degree again connect into one and then each degree similarly, this is how we attain the concept of one which is the Creator.
6. S (15:49) You described in a very artful manner how we connect to each other above ourselves so in order to reach the sensation of the Creator do we need some additional fine tuning or integration is enough?
R. When we start connecting, we start to see how everybody is disappearing in the others by this the rise above our will to receive. When we connect between us we wish to feel the general force of the connection between us that exist in the ten or maybe we don't discover it yet but from above. The Creator arranges for us all these degrees they all come from above downward so it turns out that we always have the next degree thoroughly arranged ready and we are invited to rise to it and to feel it however it all depends on our effort. So as much as I try to connect with the friends, to nullify myself to feel the connection between us, accordingly I perform actions in attaining the force of bestowal above the force of reception which is Faith above reason the higher degree vs the lower degree. If you're talking about the spiritual ladder then what we had on the higher degree is my annulment towards the ten and on the lower degree I am one by myself and on the higher degree that ten that becomes one for me this is how we rise each time. Each time the will to receive grows 1 degree to the next I start to feel that in between the degrees I have a fall, a descent, that was evening and morning one day and this is how it is and this is how I improve and get better. I start to see how I discover my attitudes to reality not according to my ego but according to the force of bestowal which is called faith and this is above my reason in each and every degree this is how I need to arrange it. That I will have the GE and the AHP, the GE above the AHP then the vessel of reception is just my foundation and the vessels of bestowal are which pulls me up, this is that we see an upside down world the spiritual world, and only that exist and then we will see that upper world only exists and this world is only so we can jump to the higher degree above it.
S. So, you refer to GE and AHP in each individually or in the connection?
R. Whichever way you want to scrutinize it because it happens this way and that way.

7. R. This means that you don't draw additional will to receive but you rise above it this is why the tree of knowledge was given so you can rise reason, Daat.

8. R. The serpent is our deep basic evil inclination we must not listen to it but we have to hear it but not go accordingly because this is the basis, without the serpent it is impossible to advance. We need to hear what the serpent says and then go above it and each time build ourselves above it, we have no other foundation besides the will to receive and only, however, we need to build ourselves above the will to receive. That way we will see that the serpent is as it says the angel of death becomes the Holy angel, the bad forces are not truly bad forces but the person who uses them correctly can convert them to good forces. Then we will be using all the evil forces in the correct way then we see that in the world which the Creator created there is nothing wrong everything is good and we just need to orient ourselves in all the relation towards the Creator to understand Him to feel Him to attain Him, He needs to exist in between the two opposite forces and this is how we attain the upper Force.

9. R. It is difficult for us to rise to faith above reason, which is the principal of the upper world and we operate within reason, which is the principal of our corporeal world and our work is to each time to build faith above reason vs reason so we don't even understand what they want from us to go against the logic in what, how how can we do that? To go with the bestowal against reception so my bestowal will be also built on reception, out of reception but not above it. What does it mean faith about reason here we truly need to get the upper force, the upper system the need him to give us the possibility that he give us the opportunity to feel how different emotions work on a higher dimension and for this we need to try to reach, to ask, to aspire and then it will happen.

10. S. Why does it give more contentment to the Creator if I go above reason if I have the opportunity to give him contentment within reason?
R. First, you cannot give him contentment within reason because then you give contentment only to yourself, second the Creator does not enjoy you giving him since he does not have a vessels of reception to receive something from you. You give contentment to the Creator by you yourself attaining, reaching that eternal, whole state like him, like what we want from our children. I know your cute little children, you don't want from them to give you something, you want to see them growing up happy, healthy, successful, you want to see them not how they relate to you, that does not matter. Most important is what they will have, so the Creator wants us to reach His degree and this is the degree of wholeness. That's why you cannot do it within reason because we operate from our tiny lack in our will receive and it is always a limited, because in the moment you feel fulfilment the will to receive it is done, it stops feeling whatever you want. When you sleep you don't want to sleep, if you eat you don't want to eat more, in each and every thing and that will to receive has a limit boundary. What does it mean to reach the world of Ein Sof, that you can reach infinite fulfillment, no limitation, no boundary in attainment and understanding, in feeling, in everything, in your vessel, in your will receive, that you reach infinite fulfilment. This is what the Creator wants us to reach therefore our work is entirely like that in the correction of the vessel. Not the fulfilment, that fulfilment is all around us it is boundless it is infinite the upper light is in absolute rest everything depends on the vessels we prepare.
S. I enter into the friends to be not in my feeling but in feeling of connection but when I enter into the center of the group in this feeling do I feel myself, I try one more time, when I am inside the friends do I have to feel pleasure or I remain empty when I'm there?
R. This is something you need to scrutinize, this is something you need to scrutinize. We are giving you in the lessons, general guidance but specifically for each and every state I cannot do that, I don't want to corrupt or spoil your development. When I tell you each time do this, do that, you will not grow, you will not grow, then each step forward has to be dependent on the person. I prepare for you lessons, excerpts, different things but from that you need to advance yourself through the connection between you.
11. S. (33:11) He says that shame is the first reason for filling the deficiency?
R. There is no other reason beyond shame as motivation force, shame towards the friends, shame towards the world or towards myself later shame towards the Creator. Shame, this is the feeling of lowliness being less towards something, towards someone, this is the most important thing that we feel as a force that promotes us the force which pulls forward which pushes from behind this is the shame. Look what is happening in the world, all the competition or the race chasing all kinds of things, it does not matter to me what I'm chasing. The most important that I will achieve what is important in the eyes of others, therefore it is important for us today in a group, which is showing us what is worthwhile yearning for. This the group is showing me how much I am not successful at the moment and then I can yearn for what is important for the group and then I replace my values with the values of the group. I am one and the group is ten and this is how I elevate myself each time to a higher degree and this is how we advance. Therefore shame is the most important tool to rise more and more each time however the question is how much I am organizing the ten, how much I feel it, how much I do not disregard it, how much do I want to connect to it, integrate with it to be included in it, this is very important and we can see how difficult it is for us to establish ourselves, stabilize ourselves. I felt it on myself how much the Creator arranged it in a way that I was rejected from the group, that group rejected me and I could not find myself in the group, yes and no, and it is all coming from above from the Creator who specifically in such a way arranges the person according to the root of his soul and finally when he comes to the goal, he comes there and again realize it fully. Therefore we have no choice but only to find ourselves that through the connection in the ten we get connection has the highest value that the point of connection in the ten that is where the Creator is and only in such a way can I prepare myself correctly to the purpose of creation. This is why we study the portion of Genesis when we say that the end result is in the original thought and we see from the Creator's action, how much man to begin with is ready it is built, specifically arranged such a way that he can reach the purpose of creation. He also has to add to it from his own forces but the forces that are added are necessary to elevate him from the animal degree to the speaking degree, to be similar to the Creator. All our work is to rise from the animal level, from the still, vegetative and animal to the speaking degree which is already relating to the upper world
12. S. (37:52) The article says that one who feels illness and is ready to receive the medication, it seems to me that it is the result of the work in the ten for connection so if we are in this state that we feel ill and we are ready to receive medication, what else can we add here?
R. We need to add only the connection between what we feel and whom do we feel it from. What is the reason the reason is always the Creator, he wants us to advance so he brings us negative feeling which means I created evil inclination. In each degree when we feel it, they call it Briyah, Bar, outside of the Creator in each and every degree we have to detect what is the good state vs the bad state which is bar outside creation and this is how we advance. In truth we are under intensive care from the upper force especially in our times when we enter the last generation, when we are the ones that the leads the correct development in the whole of humanity so we have each and every day we are getting treatment from the Creator each one of us and all of us together and it is all through the connection nothing besides that. But in connection there are many disturbance, because each and every Partzuf which we build out of ourselves is a different Partzuf, Chochmah, Binah, ZA, Malchut, all of different levels of coarseness, Aviut, it is entirely different this is why spirituality is very rich it has many colors each and every element in it includes all the elements of reality in it.
S. I also ask according speaking about the state of faith above reason and I notice when we speak about the future state and it is very abstract, difficult to speak about it because we are not there yet and I would like to know when we're in this state recognition that the feeling of the illness and they're ready to receive the medication, what else do we need to add to open the gate?
R. You will feel how much each time the future state will be more and more abstract and less clear and it will confuse you even more, you are like in the fog you don't understand what they want from you, like a baby which looks at the parents, he doesn't know what we want from him. We love the baby he laughs, there's another face he shows than another face. When he turns to us in such a way that he is copying from us copying something from us, bit by bit he acquires within him a collection of forms of behaviour and then he starts through the reforming light, it works on the baby as well, it all comes together in the baby into some software program which is called language and then he starts to understand us, starts to feel as he learns. This is how he needs to be able to develop and then the baby starts to build within him within the little child start to build within him forms of us, forms of behaviour, what is this, what is that, who is this, who is that, he tries to copy the whole world into himself and this is how he relates and how he responds. Because at first he does not respond because he doesn't have connection to the environment and it is the same with us, we are in a state where we are inside the higher world but we have no connection to it it, is like a child which is born no connection with the environment they take care of him, they do something with him, turning this way, that way, wash him, feeding him. He does not feel that this is his connection to something that is outside of him this is what happens to as well this is exactly our present state, bit by bit start through wake up from this through a connection with the upper world, with the Creator and this is through the ten where each one of us are included in the ten builds inside of himself a mould, a pattern, a model of the Creator. This is how he starts to connect through the ten, through this model he starts to connect to the upper force something outside of him, the same way the same example, we start to connect with them, in our world when we are born even the baby with the mother gets impressions, but there nature does it naturally, everyday developing us in such a way.
S. The feeling is increasing that every day we need to aim ourselves more precisely towards the connection, on the other hand it is more blurry or its more.... it is more difficult we have the group we have the friends we have everything so what do we need to do?
R. Why is it vague, why is it undefined, each day you'll have to reach an attitude towards the group when you integrate in it, when you nullify yourself and exist in the ten you accept you take it on yourself and you want to immerse in them completely, this is the first action.
13. S. (45:20) In the text it says that the Creator commanded Adam to not eat from the tree of knowledge and the serpent came and confused him but it all comes from the Creator and the Creator knew that he will eat, anyway so what's happening there?
R. The Creator is the upper root from there comes the evil force, the good force, angel of life Angel of death or the serpent and this is how the Creator manages the person governs the person in order to construct a truly free man meaning one who does not belong to the angel of life for Angel of death. Rather that man can build himself between on the middle line which is included in both and then when Adam is a created from both integrated included from both knowing how to govern himself using both the good and evil “and you shall be like good knowing good and evil” so then the person reach is his purpose even though he's nothing he's just a will to receive, a zero. On top of the will to receive he integrates with the power of good and evil and assembles them together correctly with the main purpose to reach faith above reason in the middle between them through the middle line then he reaches the image of the Creator which the person built this is what he says, “you have made me.”
S. The serpent is necessary?
R. Of course there is nothing better than the serpent it is like with medicine it's the symbol of medicine, it heals, as it heals the egotistic desire the serpent's venom specifically heals. It puts to death will to receive with the intention to receive, it is a divine innovation. We can see how much trouble we still have to understanding what's happening, what is creation, where is that image that form which is in front of me where I can tell this is how this works, this is how that works and I know the engine how it operates complete and how I integrate into it we still don't trust it so much but soon gradually slowly will come to it, it is impossible unless we ourselves inside of the system integrated.
14. S. (48:25) Where is the point of inversion in the degree of within reason to above reason?
R. The point of inversion is when I integrate into the group from that I reach the state where I can also reach faith above reason, it is not that I bestow more or receive more, it is not about the action or physical calculations, it is about needing more the upper light to influence me and I have no choice here I have to attain this by myself within the group.
15. S. (49:30) Adam and Eve didn't feel the deficiency they couldn't reach the purpose of creation so what is our quest, search, the deficiency in the ten relative to people in the world to advance correctly?
R. In our attitude towards reality we seek to see reality as it appears in the upper degree. The Creator is the degree which is above myself one degree above my present degree, when I rise above my current state, current degree to the next state it means that I rise to the degree of the Creator I attain him, but when I attain Him immediately I discovered that there is an even higher degree still. So we constantly rise, always above me there is another higher degree which is above the previous one, so we keep rising. So faith above reason means that I want to imagine to depict the state which is not in my present mind and emotions but the opposite, it is above me we will try we will try to reach that through effort. If you make enough efforts to connect to attain the state of bestowal which is above ourselves then it is certain that by that you bring the upper light which will help us all. Because it stands waiting for us expecting this, the upper degree wants this very much there is no higher than this desire in the upper to elevate the lower to itself but the lower has to overcome the forces of separation and demand, want the Upper one to pull it up and to obligate the Upper one to pull it up and to be sensitive to the Upper One.
16. S. (51:56) In the previous excerpt it says that man heard God, Adam heard God who said not to eat from the tree of knowledge, is one reaches this degree from the ten and still does not hear does not relate and falls into different degree?
R. We have to understand this story of the Torah, as if he could hear or he didn't hear who was more important, the serpent or the Creator. These two forces operate in the person in a way to bring him to the purpose, for the time being we just have to activate ourselves correctly and the more we try to be above the serpent, the evil inclination by that we also understand that our work is specifically is with the serpent. We don't get rid of it we don't rise above it, we simply work with it in a more scrutinized, purposeful way, more deliberately and at the end of our work we see how the angel of death becomes the Holy angel.
17. S. (53:28) If I see that other groups are more organized, more connected than my own, then the shame that I feel will promote me vs other groups, how to work with it correctly?
R. We discussed this before, we need to learn from each other and from other tens and it is worthwhile it is good to feel that they're more advanced, but the feeling of shame does not need to hold me back, that I am not successful, I am all wrong maybe my ten is all wrong this is even worse. We need to love this feeling the lowliness, feeling despicable, that we are incapable, that we at the very back in the competition, this is good to be in competition to do everything that we can do it, to show each other that one was bestows more, one is higher than others. In true love of friends that one is more successful and according to the Rabash articles we have to awaken ourselves to show others that we are successful even if we are not. If one ten wants to show the others how it is in love and connection, progressing forward towards a goal by this he helps the others as it looks out for the others, later it advances itself as well so this is how we can dig ourselves out of the deep hole, each one helps his friends. So definitely all the tens have to show the other groups how successful they are and the and conversely when who sits and cries just holds the others back as well, we always have to maintain uplifted high spirits. So when we look at the beginning of the lesson every day I see both kinds of groups and it is not good, because in the connection between we connect to above all the negative states, above the despair, above the failure so to speak and by this we advance. Because it is not failure, the Creator is giving these new states, a new will to receive we received so that's why we feel that you're unsuccessful so what it is written it should be like new to you each day. When the person wakes up in the morning or perhaps he wakes up in the way when I don't have anything to get up for, I have nothing, still he needs to write down to himself maybe in a note that when I get up in the morning when I don't see anything illuminating this is good, the Creator is opening a new degree for me which is beginning with the revelation of the evil and I go to the lesson, I attain the light and that evil I turn to good, this I come to another elevation in my situation.
18. S. (57:31) In the work above reason, where is the expression of this effort, where is this effort manifested?
R. In that I do not want to judge in any way my current situation with my current mind and heart, but rather with the mind and heart of bestowal and so I want to imagine to myself what it will mean for me to be with all of the friends and the whole world with the quality of bestowal like the Creator, how will it be then to look at them to connect and integrates with them and so gradually I will come to a state where accordingly it is called make your will as his will. Accordingly, I evoke upon myself the reforming light until I begin to feel reality as He does.
S. Try to hold on to it that we are already in that state is this the prayer really?
R. Yes, we need to make an effort to already be in a state which is above reason to imagine it to ourselves and then it means that we raise MAN, to our Upper One then we receive the reforming light.
19. S. How do we develop sensitivity to the Upper One?
R. I want to integrate with the ten and together with the ten I want to reach a state where we are in mutual bestowal and from mutual bestowal we also bestow upon the Creator.
