Morning Lesson May 10, 2021 Transcription
1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes we are in the last and the most important preparation before the study of Torah. Torah means sources that can shine for us the upper light so that it will change our nature from receiving to bestowing. That is it will work on us as an elevator, elevating us from this world to the upper world, from the degree of the beast to the degree of Adam, similar to the Creator. How can we position ourselves such that the upper light will influence us? Only according to our intentions? According to what we want to happen because there is no coercion in spirituality and everything depends only on how much we want this ascent and even if we don't know how to ask and what exactly to expect, certainly we don't, but first and foremost we have to realize out of the excerpts that we study that in general and from the writing of Kabbalists and from what we hear from friends that everything depends only on the intention. That is, what do I intend, what do I want that will happen to me out of the study. Either I want to remain like now, meaning in order to receive the degree of the beast however to grow just wiser to be like a scientist, to expand more my knowledge, regarding whatever is happening here in this world, and that happens as well. However, our goal if we study the wisdom of Kabbalah is actually something different. Our goal is much higher, much more special. We want our revelation to occur in us. We want to acquire spiritual vessels, five additional vessels besides sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch that we have in this life that we have in this life, we want to find five additional vessels which are spiritual degrees in which we will feel the spiritual world. It all depends on the intention during the study.
This is why it says it's better to have little but with an intention, so don't pay attention to how much you understand or even how many hours you are studying but rather what precisely are you yearning for and even if you're not yearning how do you still aim yourself towards that? Is it important or not, what outcomes are you looking for in the study. Here we stumble upon an even weirder, odder phenomenon that does not exist in any other study that even though I do not know the language or I listen, I do hear it but I don't understand what it is about. Just like a baby between the grown-ups, let's say, it still works on me because we're all like babies with respect to what the Kabbalists wrote. Because we don't understand and it's like a baby he opens his eyes wider, he wants to understand, he wants to feel, to connect with whatever, whichever way we appear before him. That inclination specifically that he wants to reach the same state the same degree of understanding and feeling like us, this is what makes out of him more and more of a human being. This is how we need to understand that our study is actually intended for those who want not to feel through their brain, their emotion with wherever they are here and now. But rather they don't want the fulfillment, they want new vessels, a new mind, a new emotion and then when they will come they will already come with new fulfillment. However the new fulfillment will be entirely different. It will have a character of the spiritual world, the upper world. It is very different from how we are now, how we think, how we understand, how we feel because the vessels change so we will feel what does it mean to change in the vessels? This is why the wisdom of Kabbalah is called the wisdom of the hidden, it will become revealed only to those who very much yearn to change in their qualities. They don't know in which form it needs to happen but rather they are willing to give themselves to the influence of the study.
They hear from the Kabbalists, from our teachers that in the study there is a special power called the upper light, it is the force of bestowal just like the nature of the upper world, and it can influence us. Bit by bit we will absorb this quality of bestowal, and we will start to feel different, the difference of the change is affecting us. Therefore, we have to focus all of our attention not on the change in the mind or even in the emotion, rather the change in qualities. That whatever I was thinking before the way I was relating to myself to the friends, to the 10, to the larger group of Bnei Baruch, to the world and of course to the Creator and his entire system of bestowal over us which is called the upper world. Well, this I now check it, I examine it and my changing in all of this or not am I entering a bit more into feeling with what we call the opening up of the eyes in the Torah. That is ,we should focus our attention not on the desire, the ordinary desire but rather the changing in the direction of bestowal and in the direction of opening up and it's not about my knowledge not that my head will be more open but rather that my heart will be more open. This is the difference between the two worlds. Where do I want to advance and this is why here we will feel the collision, we will feel how the two worlds are colliding. The world of knowledge and the spiritual world which is the world of intention. This is why the entire study of Kabbalah is in order to advance in the intention and according to our intention what is it that I intend for, why am I doing it? Not for the sake of knowledge right? This is what we have to pay attention to and then we will succeed.
We went through a lot of stages towards that and now we are going to the final stages and we will start in a few days already to study TES. I hope that with the right attitude might be that we will have to talk more about it to clarify to each and every one what is this attitude, what it should be like because the attitude is what determines the result. That is, if we approach some study in the framework of this world, we need an intellect, we need a brain and then we need to know the language and we have to have a mind that we will have as much IQ as possible and let's go forward. Whereas in spirituality we do not need IQ as it is said that it is not the wise that learns. We also do not have to learn a lot as it says it is better to have little but with an intention. That is the nature of the intention is what determines the desirable outcome from the study. This is how we will advance. That is so here we have to make a change in us, in relation to our study and the outcome and most importantly it has to be through the 10 and then he shall help his friend. We will help each other, we will give examples and even without seeing it even with our thoughts, this is how we will reform each other and correct each other, we have to realize that the Creator is relating to us through the 10. Therefore if I want to change my outlook to spirituality I have to upgrade my connection each time in the 10 and then I can absorb more of the influence of the Creator over me and more and more. I see we don't have many questions, maybe it is good, it's a sign that you are already absorbing the materials correctly.
2. S. (12:26) It's interesting that you said that I examine how my qualities change in regard to the world that toward the group, the friends. How do I examine that I am changing?
R. To what extent that you feel that you depend on them and how they become more precious for you. intermittently sometime you reject them and forget about them and sometimes you do feel that you do depend on them and you have to come closer and truly feel that they are standing in your heart both in this and in that, in the descents and accents. The topic here is the most important for us. How much am I connected with the friends because in that, for sure, I am maintaining my correct intention back to the study and the Creator. The Creator is influencing me through the 10 as much as I am incorporated with this 10 in this template then I am already more aimed and more correctly towards the Creator.
3. S. (13:47) You mentioned in order to attain spirituality we need to obtain five additional senses beyond our corporeal ones, is that correct? What are these additional senses?
R. Through the reforming light we will discover them gradually in us and this is called sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch the spiritual ones. What is it? We will discover it.
4. S. (14.29) In the beginning of the lesson you said that I need to adjust my attitude towards the10 can you elaborate a bit on that?
R. I get up in the morning as a beast. I come to the lesson immediately or maybe a few hours later depends on where I'm living in which place on the face of the Earth. Then before the lesson I need to be in a single Kli with everyone because the Creator relates to the whole Kli especially now that we are in the time of the last generation and I have to try very much to feel myself as a part of the collective. I truly annul towards them because the Creator exists as it says I dwell among my own people and as much as I am also inside of the group I will enter under a stronger influence of the Creator. This is what I tried to do so I think about it, I recall all kinds of versus maybe from Baal HaSulam and Rabash. I begin to see how much I am completely lost, it's difficult for me to focus myself on anything spiritual. However if I come closer to the concept of the 10. The group, the vessel of the broken vessel of Adam HaRishon that we have to re-establish it and feel all of it then I see how much this is becoming possible for me through connection and then I advance. This is how it is.
S. In our 10 there is this situation where I have this inner conflict and relation to myself and the friends in general, the question is do I have to change myself or should I change the way I see the friends or they see things?
R. What do you think? Are you going to break them?
S. No not to break them.
R. It means that you understand better than them what needs to be done and by you persuading them, pressuring them they will change with respect to you by this you will gain something
S. No not in relation to myself in relation to the group?
R. I don't know, I also know you a little bit. You are stubborn, you think that you understand very much so read what Rabash and Baal HaSulam writes about that. In any case you have to subjugate yourself before the group. for your will to receive for sure this is the right way to advance towards correction and it doesn't matter if they are correct or not do not check it with your mind although we all know that you are a genius. However that does not matter. What matters is how much do you subjugate yourself even with respect like Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma, okay? So try I don't want to hear you, I don't want to hear even put that you know where, some corner so that you won't be able to ever bring out this, even if you want to study the wisdom of Kabbalah, not just wisdom you have to do everything in order to make out of yourself a zero with respect to the group and the impression that I got from you it would be good for you to really think about it and do it.. After one year I see you're in the same place so try and now we are before the reforming light and here it will become clear in a way that it is much more start.
5. S. (19:25) What is the intention?
R. The intention is my desirable goal.
S. Changing your qualities, what does that mean? Lately I notice that I am discovering new qualities in my friends. Positive qualities, like care, concern, and love. Is it a change that comes from our common work?
R. It mostly comes out of your work because anyone who is disqualifying is disqualifying out of his flaws. If you are seeing changes in them for the better, it is a sign that you are changing for the better.
6. S. (20:26) You said that our studying, there are two worlds that collide in it of knowledge and intentions?
R. We have to realize that with our mind we cannot understand any spiritual concept, because all of our concepts all of our wisdom is the result of our senses. If we would lose those corporeal senses then we wouldn't have any corporeal wisdom either. Our wisdom is only the result of all kinds of impressions in our desires and thoughts out of all kinds of events that we go through in life. This is why it says about it, there is none as the experienced one. In spirituality we have no experience. In order to attain, to gain experience in spirituality we need to start being impressed from spirituality and not to hinder these expressions but to absorb them, to perceive them.
S. What does it mean to be impressed by spirituality? We are sitting in the 10, now what does it mean to get an impression from spirituality?
R. I can get an impression from spirituality only on the condition only that I annul towards spirituality with my corporeal qualities, therefore as much as I lower my corporeal mind and emotion and I want to use the little bit of inclination toward spirituality that I have, then I begin to feel that I have a possibility to get into some contact with spirituality. As much as I annul myself before the group, before the friends and as much as I think about them any good way that the Creator gave them to me and through the Creator and in no other way. As much as I arrange myself in such a way, by that I invite the upper influence on me. Then as a result of that when changes occur in me and these are already spiritual changes. We just need to make an effort to position ourselves correctly towards the upper influence so that only through an action, through an inclination towards love and bestowal we will get also an impression from the Creator. That's it, so we have to arrange our vessel so they will be similar to him and he is only the force of bestowal.
S. In relation to what you're saying, I'm annulling myself and trying to integrate with the friends and getting an impression from them but on the other hand suppose we're studying TES and we connect around an intention and how did the new processes go together?
R. The fact that I want to connect to the 10 and to be incorporated in them ,losing myself inside of them, like Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma as he explains to us are as Rabash explains to us. If I understand that the Creator stands behind all of the friends, and only my subjection towards the 10 is what will give me a connection with the Creator, then I should be concerned about it. That is, my attitude to the friends that's through them I get an influence from above. This for me, actually becomes the most important goal. This determines my spiritual advancement. Therefore I don't want to activate my mind, my brain, not even the present emotion, it is all beasty, but rather only by my connection as much as I am more moved, excited by my connection with the friends that by that I bring myself out of the corporeal level and a little bit toward spirituality. This inclination is what I need and this is how I will advance.
7. S. (26:00) During the preparation, during your intro, you said that we have to position ourselves under the influence of the study?
R. I want to be in the study of the Torah. The Torah means light that is to connect to the sources in such a way that their light will influence us. Light is the force of bestowal and it comes to us, it influences us and it raises us to the degree of Bina of bestowal. So we accordingly, we need to be closer to the light in the same inclination like the light when I connect with my friends, when I try to rise above my corporeal qualities and to be as much as possible in bestowal we will scrutinize all of the discernments. In short, this is what is important during the study. That is as they write that we have to be in an inclination towards the light that is towards the force of bestowal, the force of change, the force of correction as much as I expect that I will change through the study, this is what matters. Not that I just remain as I am and I fill up my brain, God forbid, that is incorrect but rather how much my qualities will change through the study in the direction of bestowal, love, connection in the direction of spiritual discernments that I can somehow now imagine to myself according to the Kabbalists who write about it.
8. S. (28:10) If the intention is my attitude towards the Creator am I not the one who defines my intention because we say that there is none else besides him?
R. Here you are confusing a few things together; this is why I do not think that the question is correct. Our intention well first of all it would be better if you ask in Turkish or in a language that everybody understands better. I think that we are going to learn about the intentions. The question includes two things that cannot be tied together but certainly you establish your own intention or you ask of the creator that he will establish your intentions however the most important for us is to establish it according to the 10.
9. S. (29:49) We hold our meetings with friends during the day with one intention is all of this spiritual renewal?
R. You tried to do it and of course by this you are causing a spiritual renewal however the result of the spiritual renewal should come after many efforts, but you are doing it and you are doing it correctly.
10. S. (30:23) When can we say that we are ready for the study?
R. For more than a year now we have been in preparation for the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah and to hold onto it more, I don't know if this is worthwhile because all in all we are talking and talking, we are studying and studying many things. However it is all around the study itself, the study meaning the materials that bring us the reforming light. There is the preparation for the study and there should also be the study, of course some of our students are not quite ready for it, they will have to change themselves and advance. It is not the wise one who learns they will have to change their attitude to what is it that they want out of the study. Of course it is not in order to change their intellect and fill it up with all kinds of details but rather to feel how much their heart is opening up more and is getting closer to everyone. It is a process, it doesn't happen immediately but nevertheless a person should examine himself and demand it, that this will happen. We will see, we will start slowly because the most important thing for us is to establish ourselves in the study of TES so we will try to change our inner qualities, we will draw, invite, change our inner qualities, we will ask for it and feel how much this is influencing us. This is how we will advance, that is it will be for us through examining and monitoring our change in our qualities along with this so that as we read about spiritual actions we try to aim ourselves towards the spiritual actions. So that we will feel changes. So that spirituality is changing within us and it is opening up and advancing.
11. S. (33:43) With the new development of the Kelim that takes more place in the heart that takes more place in the intellect in regard to absorbing the study material that we are studying throughout the lesson and despite our entire preparation even if we absorb just a small part of the lesson, does it mean that we are developing a new vessel?
R. No, it is not the wise one who learns. I don't care about how much I understood but rather about how much I changed with my intentions, with my desires as a result. How much my heart has opened up more towards connection with the 10 because, all in all, following such efforts in connection with the 10 through this study that is through the reforming light, I will start to discover inside of the connection between us, the upper world, the Creator will be revealed.
12. S. (35:10) The ego grows all of the time and a child grows all the time and his attitude towards the world changes. This is what the parents expect and this is what we are expected to do. How does this process happen in the 10 where it changes its spiritual attitude towards the Creator? How do we deal with it among us?
R. Please speak more concretely. It all changes through the reforming light. There is nothing else to add, here. All of the changes, if we are talking about changes in the spiritual direction, it is only through the upper light. Therefore we, on our side, just need to perform the actions that awaken the upper light, since we depend only on it.
13. S. (36:31) How to correctly prepare our intention in the 10?
R. In the simplest, most accessible way. That we want to connect between us in our desires so that inside of our connection, we will be as such in mutual bestowal and each one of us will have to make concessions towards the other so that all in all our common concession will be in the center of the connection between us and then in that something, we will resemble the Creator. We are conceding ourselves and we are yearning towards Him, towards bestowal outside of us. That is, everything depends on how much we understand what is the center of our connection, what does it mean? There is the Creator.
14. S. (38:02) I heard you say that soon we’ll start working with the reforming light in practice. What does that mean in relation to us?
R. That we will activate such means so as to awaken upon ourselves the reforming light. Now, too, we need to think about it but mostly during the study of TES.
S. But in regard to us, what does it mean what are we supposed to expect from?
R. An inner change. That the heart will change from reception to bestowal, from hatred to love.
15. S. (38:53) You just said that we need to expect changes, for our heart to change. It sounds like the results from the study. Should that also be our intention? Because it's felt like if this is the intention that I'll have, I'm actually asking for myself and its counter to the equivalence of form that we’re asking for.
R. I want to change my attitude to everyone, to everyone, so that as much as I relate to everyone to the whole of humanity to the 10, it doesn't matter how I restrict my sight, but as they relate to them I relate to the Creator because outside of me, only the Creator exists. So we need to realize how do we turn to Him. The 10 helps us to arrange our correct appeal so it will be correct because otherwise we would never be able to form it, ourselves, to arrange our appeal to the Creator.
S. So maybe I’ll rephrase. This demand that I have, that I'd like for my qualities to change, in order for it to be in order to bestow with the right intention of drawing the light, I have to ask the same things for the 10?
R. You don't need to ask. To begin with you have to aim it in this direction, where do you want to see the result? It's not that I now want to receive spirituality -- well, what spirituality is? I don't know what you have in mind, what you imagined, and then I will turn to others -- no, by turning to others as much as I established myself towards the others, right now to begin with, I want this attitude to change. To begin with the end result is in the initial thought, otherwise I am just saying it. That I want to change my attitude to the others. That is incorrect. Bestowal towards others, connection with others that is spirituality.
16. S. (41:51) It's still hard to understand how an egoist can reach an intention to change. For him, it's like the evil inclination is bringing himself to slaughter?
R. It's through the reforming light. What is this like, I don’t know, however it reverts our intention from towards myself to towards others.
17. S. (42:27) Currently our 10s are distributed in virtual context over the internet. Can this physical restriction facilitate our understanding and practical study of TES in the 10?
R. It doesn't matter what physical, geographical distance we have in the 10, let's say. It is entirely unimportant, most important is that we will feel ourselves that we have to be in one heart, in one desire, one intention in order for us to discover the Creator through that. As much as we will have distances between us in the desire, the intention, we will want to overcome them in that gap between the desirable and the existing, we will discover the power of the Creator. It’s just like in the spiritual vessel, you have the coarseness, the restriction, the screen and the reflected light. So the more coarseness, the greater the gap, the distance between the friends. However they work on it, above it, upon it in order to connect, and accordingly the intensity of the Creator that will be revealed will be greater.
18. S. (44:08) The desire to connect is what builds the intention or the other way around?
R. That my intention with respect to the study determines everything. It changes my desires, my thoughts, everything. Everything depends on the intention during the study.
S. What comes first? When we come to the lesson, we want to connect: is this what builds the intention?
R. No, why is it that you want to connect?
S. That's the question.
R. So scrutinize it.
19. S. (45:05) You just spoke about wanting to change my attitude to everyone to the 10 but also to all of humanity. I think to the 10, we can imagine what Rabash tells us about it but what do we need to change in our attitude towards humanity? Is it internal or external, how should we aim ourselves at this?
R. So, we are going to do it gradually. In the meantime the 10 is the main thing that's the vessel in which I have to see myself, now. It is like a baby when he is born, first of all he discovers himself, his little corner, mom’s hands. Afterwards, he comes out of his room, he is taken to some park and so on. This is how he goes out and gets to know the world, he does it gradually. In the meantime what's important to us is to feel ourselves inside the 10.
20. S. (46:30) From the 10 and through the 10, you said that we have to have something that isn’t a feeling, it's not a thought, it is a quality, a new quality. What is a quality?
R. The quality of bestowal. Meaning that I rise above my will to receive. Above it, I get the will to bestow which is different from our desire to bestow l because for us it is just a means in order to receive. Then in that desire I got from above, I started connecting to the whole of reality and through it to the Creator.
Excerpt 11 (47:53 - 48:26)
21. R. Meaning there is a person who has the will to receive and nothing besides it. And he is given connection with the upper force which means he is studying the Torah, meaning he is connected to the upper force, and through that upper force he can receive strength, force. This force changes his desire from receiving to bestowing, and it is not exactly that his desire changes but the intention changes, the way he uses his desire. This change is done by the upper light, the upper force that comes to him while he is studying something about the actions of the Creator, about the upper World which is called Torah, about the actions of the upper light. Then by studying about the actions of the upper light, the upper force, the force of bestowal that influences him, gradually, bit by bit, a person changes. He's impressed by this force and he even receives a bit of it in small portions and he can start working with it. Then a person starts being connected and starts consisting of these two forces -- the forces of reception that he has to begin with and then the force of bestowal that he got through studying Torah. Of course ‘through studying Torah’ means that he studies in a 10 and with a 10, the 10 ask for this force and he tries to feel these phenomena in him and the measure to which they give him an ability to connect with the friends, how much together they can be in mutual bestowal and from what we call ‘love of the created beings to come to the love of the Creator.’ All of this is a result of correctly studying the Torah. Accordingly, to the measure which one acquires the quality of bestowal outside of him, above his will to receive, accordingly he starts feeling the spiritual world, the true reality. And that's how he comes out of this world into the spiritual world.
Excerpt 11 (51:10 - 51:37) again
22. R. (51:40) We don't change the will to receive even though this is what we say, how it sounds, but what we change is its usage so it will no longer be in order to receive but in order to bestow. Meaning the will to receive remains and ‘anyone greater than his friend, his desires are greater than his’ develops in us more and more but according to the intention of bestowal that we have. Meaning we start with the restriction over the will to receive and to the measure to which from above we get the reforming light, we use our will to receive with the intention in order to bestow. That's the difference between the states that we previously had where there was just the will to receive in order to receive in a natural way. Afterwards we will have the desire to receive but with the intention in order to bestow. That's the difference between the two worlds. The difference is in the way you use the desire.
23. S. (52:50) What is the difference between a person in whom the will to receive develops and a person studying Kabbalah in whom a will to receive with a screen develops?
R. The desire to receive from an ordinary person is that everything is to his own benefit. The desire to receive in a person spiritually is to the benefit of others.
S. The will to receive, spirituality which is egoistic grows even more, the desire for this world, the next world. How could spiritual be egoistic?
R. I don’t understand what you’re asking: how could an egoistic desire go with the next world?
S. If a person studies the wisdom of Kabbalah with the wrong intention, something that is spiritual, he can also be mistaken, maybe, and not advanced correctly, he might fall?
R. Only on condition that there's a desire to teach him what is right and what is not. But the advancement nonetheless has to be towards bestowal.
24. S. (54:09) I have many egoistic desires and I tried to restrict them to incorporate in the friends, what does it mean that I can also use my will to receive?
R. If from above you can receive some kind of force of bestowal and pass it on to others that means you receive in order to bestow, that you're receiving from the Creator in order to bestow to the friends and the world.
S. Why do we need my will to receive here? It turns out that it is some kind of redundant component?
R. Unless you use your desire to receive you will not be able to bestow, otherwise what will you be able to bestow?
S. How can I use it if I restrict it?
R. You restrict your desire to receive for yourself, you made the restriction which is called the first restriction and afterwards after you did it, you start opening up your desire to the measure to which you can, not for your own sake but for benefit of others and to the measure of your connection with others and then what you get from above you pass it on to others. And then your will to receive works and works strongly. Anyone greater than his friend his desires are greater than his and that's why he is greater.
S. What do I discover bit by bit within my desire?
R. You convey the upper force from above to the friends and so does each friend towards the other friends and then, your connection the connection between you is called a Partzuf-face and that you want to fulfill each other, meaning you are bringing the inner light, the Or Pnimi to the Partzuf-face.
25. S. (58:58) What is the benefit that my friends gain out of the fact that I am in the right intention during the study?
R. They gain your intentions that all in all, what we bestow to the Creator is the sum total of our intentions. That is called Or Hozer, returning light. This is our bestowal toward the Creator, that what we want to get from the learning is to have the force of bestowal that we will be able to integrate with one another, that from this common force of bestowal we will be able to bestow to the Creator and connect to ourselves all the rest of the world, all the broken souls and correct them gradually too, and for that will be our correction and this is how we will bestow to the Creator even more. Because a person in and of himself has nothing to correct, only when he connects to others and wants to correct them, through him but each of us we cannot say that we are corrupted in and of ourselves, what is corrupted what's broken are only our ties, the connection between us.
26. S. (01:00:42) When we study TES I feel that it's like a system, a machine. If so, how does this machine work?
R. We will learn and then you will understand. We didn't learn about this yet so you can’t ask.
27. S. (01:01:20) How can I draw the reforming light in order to correct my intention?
R. Only with the help of your intention can you draw the reforming light, that I want to receive a force from above in order to bestow to everyone and by that to become like, resemble the Creator, the degrees of my resemblance of the Creator. The measure which I resemble him, these are called degrees. I can receive more and more forces from above in order to perform more and more intentions in order to bestow. I have nothing to bestow to the Creator but only to the others until I correct the entire broken Kli which is called the end of correction and then accordingly, I receive results from the corrections in this vessel that I form, make and that actually is called my spiritual soul, my soul. The entire vessel of Adam HaRishon which is called the general vessel, the general soul but that part which I can fulfill by my attitude to bestow to them is called my soul.
28. S. (01:03:09) When I use my will to receive for myself, then it is clear how the desires function but how is it functioning when I'm in order to bestow, what changes there?
R. When you build the intention of in order to bestow you connect to your foreign desires and through your desires you bestow to everyone to the measure to which you can, to the measure to which you are capable and then what passes through you is called spiritual attainment.
S. What is this connection I have between my desire and the desires of the other?
R. When you try to arrange your desire in such a way that fulfillments will come through your desires to the foreign desires.
S. Yes but how does this happen, there is my desire which is mine specifically in the vessel?
R. No you restrict your desire and that is called make your desire like his. And you start using your desire not the way you want it but the way the other wants it and then the deficiency of the others through you to the Creator, asking the Creator for the forces of connection fulfillment, these forces you connect to the other person and then you become a conduit in order to fulfil the others.
S. I'm only using an element of my desire over which all the other desires that are clothed on?
R. You use your desire to the measure to which you can use this desire in order to fulfill others according to their desire. In that you spiritually realize yourself and you don't use all of your qualities but those you need in order to fulfill the others because all the rest of the qualities that are not for the sake of others, you simply don't use them.
S. What does it mean to receive an order to bestow, what am I receiving?
R. You receive fulfillment from the Creator and bestow that fulfillment to others through yourself that is called to bestow in order to receive in order to bestow.
S. So I just use this force of reception in order to receive?
R. And the intention to bestow to others.
29. S. (01:06:37) This world engages in knowing knowledge and is asking how do things work in the spiritual world and gauges the intention. He's asking why are they happening is this correct?
R. You're taking words that Rabash wrote and you turn them however you want and you ask me it. You read it 10 times what it says and try to enter his format with your mind.
30. S. (01:07:28) How can I know correctly the desires of the others?
R. I don't know but it says make your desire like his towards the Creator and towards others that you will be the adapter between the two.
S. What is this action inside of me?
R. This action means that you annul yourself, your self-benefit and connect to others and receive the deficiency from the others and with it you turn to the Creator. You ask the Creator to give you the forces, fulfillment, everything in order for you to be able to pass on to others what they want, what they need and then what follows is that you, with the force of the creator with his fulfillment you exist as a conduit towards others and that way we connect all the broken parts of the vessel of Adam HaRishon.
31. S What is the power of intention? Why is it so important?
R. The power of intention determines what do I want out of my effort because without the power of intention we cannot say anything about the quality of the action itself, what do I want. It's possible that I am not of this world. I look at one person who sticks a knife into the body of another person and it is called that he is killing him. Another time I see that he is doing the same but it means he is operating on him and saving his life, so what is the difference? The difference is in the intention, meaning the action that could be good or bad and the difference between them is only the intention and that's why our entire study is about the intention. After we have developed on the level of this world for thousands and thousands of years only in actions. Now we are reaching a state where humanity has to learn and study the intentions, about the intentions and live in the intentions and then we will feel the measure to which the matter evaporates and disappears and it all depends on the intention on the inclination of the heart and not physical actions. Then this world disappears and we shift to computers, we shift to such relations that are all realized in our intentions, by our attitude towards each other. Only in our attitude towards each other we see how much we advance even in modern technology it's becoming closer and closer to spirituality and then we have less and less matter, less and less movement and everything is becoming more computerized. Working according to forces that are more, and less seen to the eye are more elusive. In the past we had to build the best mechanical and electrical systems. Today we do it all on the computer and gradually our world is advancing towards the state where we will realize and implement everything in intention and that is the simplest, healthiest, best, correct thing and we will do it. We will live in our intentions. Try instead of computers and all of the systems that we have built in the past few dozen years, try running electricity, water different things our houses cannot exist without these computerized systems. And this is the general advancement in which soon we will reach a world where intentions will define the quality of the action and they themselves will be the actions, that means on the spiritual level everything depends on the intention.
32. S. (01:13:19) This example with the computer that you said now, there are systems seemingly that are too small but they determine everything, how does the intention work here?
R. That the intention is actually defining the quality of the action.
S. What does it mean that we will live only inside of the intention what about everything else that exists in our life?
R. We will determine everything by our intention and we will perform all of our actions in our intentions and that's how it's going to be, that means we rise to this spiritual level.
S.
R. I understand that you don't understand and you also have to accept that you still don't understand. I am giving you an example, one opposite the other like in our world, there are many systems where previously we used to build out of steel, big cumbersome systems. Today we build a computer through which we manage water systems, gas, electricity, supplies, everything goes through the computer. In the very same way we will reach a state where everything will fall into place according to our intentions. I think it is enough because otherwise we will get confused because we still don't have the feeling of how to build this but an example is an example.
33. S. (01:15:23) At the beginning of the lesson we said that the purpose of our study will soon be that we are asking for a certain attitude towards the friends. Now we spoke about changing the intention is the main point, changing the attitude but changing the intention is this the same thing?
R. Yes, exactly correct.
34. S. (01:15:51) There is my individual intention and the intention of the 10?
R. Yes, but my personal intention has to be included in the intention of the 10.
S. What does it mean to shape my intention according to the tens intention?
R. That I want what the 10 wants. By my efforts included in the intention of the 10 and that we act together still there is this and there is that. And we all the time want to come to one intension where all of the intentions are included and that one intention that we will make will be our vessel for the revelation of the creator.
S. In the preparation for the study, what should be my intention?
R. To be in mutual bestowal between us and from the sum total of these bestowals between us to convey this mutual bestowal to the Creator. The Creator is the comprehensive, we will discover him in our bestowal.
S. What can you do if you aim yourself before the study that your attitude will change towards the friends how to open up, but there is rejection and you don't have the desire?
R. This means you have to increase and overcome the intention, great this is how it is supposed to be for everyone. There is no study if throughout the study we do not discover foreign forces, rejection, different things as Rabbi Shimon students who wanted to kill each other.
S. There is rejection, distancing, you don't feel that this is your intention with which you are working and drawing the light so I don't understand how you can overcome it? How do I simply not fall asleep, but run away from it?
R. My entire intention has to be that to what measure am I connected to them and if the different desires reject me from that then I should work even more to connect so I understand that it is help made against him. This is what I get from the Creator now to have the ability to further increase my intention, my force my intention to everyone that now I have the ability to increase my spiritual vessel. This is help from the Creator, that he gives us failures, feel rejection toward each other, how else can I see the creators help? Only in that he is standing in my way. How do you teach your little child? By showing him something and then you stand in his way for him to do it by himself, for him to make some kind of movement toward that to try and feel, maybe ask you, but that you are all the time doing these exercises with him to give him a hard time.
S. I was aiming for connection and I received a rejection, what now?
R. With that rejection to reach connection, how? In prayer and preferably the prayer with the friends. This is our simple ongoing work that we should do all the time.
S. How to dissolve my personal intention in the 10?
R. This is something that I have to finish with before the lesson and preferably if it is during the lesson I simply rise above it, during the lesson I disconnect from everything that I have in this world, the family, my personal work, everything that has to do with this world I disconnect from it. I now feel connected to the spiritual world on the one hand, and connected to the 10 on the other hand and I am that conductor through which I can pass the upper force of bestowal to the 10 and besides that I don't want to depict anything else. Maybe through to the 10 to the rest of the world to the measure a person is already about it.
S. So what is the difference between intention and prayer?
R. There is the intention which already acts and if I cannot correctly shape it and if I can’t add to it, to do something that I feel that I am incapable of, usually it is good to feel I am incapable, so I turned to the Creator and in that I become the Creator's partner by asking him to help me to do things one way or another. It is great that if I discover that I can't, that I am in need of the creator.
S. How do we cope with the tiredness? How do we help the friends who are used to sleeping during the lesson? How can I join the general effort with their intention?
R. We have to arrange ourselves in such a way during the lesson that we do not sleep. I used to write, I had a pen and I wrote. I can show you the notebooks that I had, thick notebooks and I used to fill them with many things. There are things that you don't necessarily need, but I would add a sentence, a sketch, something, Rabash said and I make because by that I further connect to the material that he is giving by allowing myself to not run away. Because once you shifted from some kind of hearing into some kind of other form, once you don't do it, it stops and falls asleep. So I really recommend it but this is something that I got used to since I was a student that you had to write everything down because later you were tested on it. But you can do it differently but not that I need to later see the lesson in the archive that the lesson in the archive would be instead of what I write down. What I write down is something else that I pass through me and by that I participate in practice with my teacher, he says and I write and it really works, definitely. Therefore the fact that you are listening passively. Look I studied 60 years ago, there were no computers, you had your book, your notebook and your pen that’s it. Therefore I can’t tell you but there is a need to do something, to some measure you have to participate in the learning and I talk about it a lot because it is very important, look at what Rabash wrote after his talks with Baal HaSulam, the Shamati notebook that I have. It is a notebook that he wrote with a pen, He took a pen and he wrote. Unless we pass it through us that we became like a pipeline even in relation to that notebook it is not enough.
S. Are there other ways to pass it through us?
R. No it's not enough the thought disappears, you have to write these things, prepare your computer next to you, to type it down oh, there are those who typing by this from the typing they suddenly see that they don't understand something and they begin to ask. But this is something that I really recommend and it is not a matter of studying that you study differently, to study the details but that it is connecting to the words to the text and to the teacher and to the Creator. Therefore it is worthwhile doing.
35. S. When a person wants to check his intention he approaches the 10 and he checks how wide open his heart is to words 10?
R. Yes, this is very important and I always have to be ready to discover that my heart is not with them at all and that I disregard them, reject them and I don't think about them at all oh, who are they and who am I? Again I work on this in order to bring myself closer to them and I repeat the words that the table list say as a speak about the 10, about the system Adam HaRishon and the 10 Sefirot, that there can be a revelation to the created beings who this structure this is how I bring myself back to it at break time. Because there are new conditions how the upper light works ceaselessly and so every moment, and every given moment I have to position myself in connection towards the friends with the Creator inside.
S. The point where a person discovers that his heart is with the friends, he says that it's not according to his own intention that we learn, that the divinity seemingly, how to turn the sorrow so it's not pointed toward myself and I remain connected to the friend?
R. From the start I have to understand I am under control of the upper and everything that happens only from him, from none else besides him and there is nothing that is hidden from the creator that does not come from him. There is no such thing, that is the biggest nonsense because there is no other force in reality altogether. Therefore my entire work is how do I despite all of the disturbances connect to him and establish a correct attitude to none else besides him.
S. So it turns out the intention has to go through a recognition of evil and from that you can build a new intention?
R. Certainly everything was done out of my will to receive, as corrupted as it is and the little bit of correct in that it does have.
36. S. (01:28:39) Can we say that in every state where I find myself not wanting to connect her to come to the lesson that I have to do this only because I want to bring contentment to the Creator? Is this the right intention that whatever I am doing is only in order to give him contentment?
R. As much as you are capable of being in it this is good but even if not so much, but rather in any case maybe we are beginning from afar what is for my benefit, what must I do in order to improve my states. From this I progressed, advancing to more correct states, more spiritual ones. This is how it is, it's like a person who follows and then he gets up, how does he get up? First on his knees, then on his legs and he straightens himself up and this is how it is written that a thousand times the righteous shall fall and get up again. This means that we must always see ourselves as falling and getting up, falling and getting up, and this is actually our work, our internal work.
37. S. (01:30:25) What you said about the physician in the murderer is not so clear, why to use intention in this example, the physician wants to save and the criminal wants to kill?
R. There is a difference in the intention between the doctor and the murderer?
S. Yes of course so the intention is a kind of desire?
R. Intention is not a type of desire it determines the quality of desire, it is not a type. The intention determines what that person desired, meaning the quality of the desire, is he a murderer or is he a surgeon, a healer? It all depends upon the intention which tells us the quality of the action, the essence of the action. It is like what you see from the creation, the Creator created the world, he created it in the form of the final correction, the end of correction and then he shattered it into pieces truly giving us the opportunity that we should begin to grow. That we begin to connect to all of these pieces together, these broken pieces, the shattered pieces.
S. So the intention is the final goal?
R. Yes, to fulfill the final state. You see just how much I am ready to be in this until we truly and understand our entire attitude and after beginning to be something clear and from this to progress to spirituality.
38. S. (01:32:38) About writing during the lesson which helps you not to fall asleep, there are other forms that friends do like walking or even sports, like in the gym they also listen to the lesson, is this also good?
R. I'm talking about during the time of this study how I am receiving it, meaning how I am receiving it and how I am receiving it in depth besides this of course what you can do, sports or other actions are even better together of course this is good.
S. During the lesson? Isn't it better to sit with the friends and to see them? But if it is to not fall asleep this is okay?
R. Exercise during the lesson?
S. Yes, there used to be in the building to go to the gym.
R. This is the first time I'm hearing this and I don't understand how one can allow himself, with Rabash you are allowed to smoke during the lesson. He himself smoked and we would also and , sometimes it would be bothersome to others who didn't so we would stop, but to go out to do exercises for half an hour to go to some gym?
S. With the lesson in our ears in the background?
R. You don't understand how your attitude toward the lesson is what determines the changes within you. It is not how important it is to hear, but it is important to make all sorts of efforts to not fall asleep. So this is why I tell you to write things and do actions to help you to belong to the text when the teacher is speaking about. Sports, no, I'm surprised you even asked about this. It doesn't seem to me that this can influence something good. You are lying to yourself that you are doing some action then this action will also help me for spirituality. If this is during the lesson that you're leaving the lesson and going to do something else, that is already not proper respect, looking down on Torah.
39. S. (01:35:57) The fact we cannot connect because we're not asking from the bottom of the heart, that we don't have the need for help?
R. Yes we will make the effort by studying to feel more and more how much our connection is the only condition. The only condition for revelation of the Creator and revelation of the upper world and the revelation of the final vessel of the end of correction. This all depends upon the connection between us and this is what we will make an effort to reveal.
40. S. (01:36:54) Our advancement is according to the effort that we make, every day we need to add something new so how to increase the intention with respect to yesterday, what is the addition?
R. I need to worry that each day between us that each cell be in our eyes as new as it is written, that the intentions of today will be stronger than the intentions of yesterday and this all depends upon the disturbances that the Creator each time raises our will to receive, reveals that to be as greater, more cruel, more coarse and upon this we need to understand that this is how he raises us from the corporeal degree of the will to receive that we are here as a beast, even worse than beasts in our world, but in a beastly manner. The spiritual will to receive that we are working on connection, intentions, one who is bigger than his friends his inclination is larger and each day we need to feel ourselves how much we are, Let's say I'm waking up to arrive to the lesson how much that I am awakening each day more as a beast. Rabash, it was hard to look at him, I would remember these states in Tiberius that I would remember him getting up and behaving as where am I? Just like that, then he would go shower and come back and sit down at the table to get a cup of coffee that I would bring him. Slowly and gradually you could really see how much it was hard for him. Not like for us, one who is larger than his friend his inclination is larger and he is much more disconnected than us from spirituality because afterwards he needs to raise all of these broken vessels to spirituality and all who is larger than his friend, in spirituality, his inclination is larger, it is more broken. So slowly gradually he would get up, we need this to perform upon ourselves and not by sport, exercise. Rather by intention to do internal efforts that you will see just how much in this is our work. God forbid, I'm not against sports and exercise, but it is something additional not instead of.
41. S. (01:40:21) Can we identify our friend's intention or it is only through his action?
R. I don't need to get into some search of what intentions for friends have, to beginning with I need to correct my intentions and then according to my intentions I will see that all of these friends, but they are completely righteous because these friends are in me and if I correct myself then certainly I see them as corrected. If I am looking at them and not at myself that is already bad, because this is called all who sees the flaws in his friend is seeing his own flaws.
42. S. (01:41:29) So the friends wanted to update that in the past it was not allowed to be in the gym during the lesson and we used to be so it didn't sound as if we were sitting in the gym it wasn't like that.
R. Okay so I am asking sorry that I thought of you all as completely wicked. You are all okay.
Excerpt 12 (01:45:19)
43. R. It is written as if we have to perform with our hands and legs, this is how it is written but Torah intends that we shall do them only in our hearts.
Reader continues “Because the Creator wants all the hearts....”
44. S. (01:46:27) What should our approach and our response be when we are unable to feel the text because we don't understand anything?
R. You need to continue studying, make an effort to be in connection between you and to understand that this sorrow that you are revealing so that you don't understand this sorrow works, the Creator feels the sorrow and takes care of you so you need to organize, arrange this sorrow more correctly that you shall connect more between you, talk between yourselves more of how much you want to attain the force of bestowal, the force of connection, the force of love that this belongs to the upper world, our world that doesn't exist and how much in this that we need to ask, request like a baby who screams and yells, who wants even though he doesn't know exactly what he wants. The upper one understands what the baby is asking for, what we are asking for in the main thing is that we asked and if we ask together we will always receive from the Creator a response, and answer. Maybe we won't feel it clearly because we don't yet understand as we don't yet have a mutual language between us, but that he always feels what we do. Let us always make an effort that I don't know where I am or in what form I am bestowing, but between you make connections and raise a prayer from you to the Creator. You put together every day, together five sentences of what you want to tell the Creator together and you will see just how much it works. What is our daily lesson? Is it that we will be able to connect together in our one desire and turn to the Creator in the sum total, it is not so important what we are learning and talking about, understanding, it is in this that we will want to raise a request to the Creator.
Excerpt 13 (01:49:20 - 01:51:57) Twice
45. S. How can we be in one intention as a 10 while we are studying TES?
R. It is not important what we are studying, what we want, that we need one single intention, direction for everyone that we want by the study and it is not important what we are studying or how much for understanding what we are studying. We want this study to connect together that is it as the study is a special state that the upper light influences upon us and so we want in the time of the studying of TES that the upper light shall influence and connect us into a spiritual vessel, a 10.
S. We know a lot of things have changed in the world from last year to this year. Does this affect our study of TES this year?
R. No, it is that in our world there are changes. It doesn't belong to the spiritual world meaning that our world is getting closer to the upper world but not that in the spiritual world there are changes. More lights are arriving to our world and determining the development of the material, the matter in our world especially the connections between human beings.
S. So can we say that the light we draw is changing by quantity and not quality?
R. No, your questions are still such that they don't have room, they don't have a place in spirituality, in quantity or quality these are things that we have yet to learn. I also don't understand what you want, what you are trying to clarify.
46. S. (01:54:59) About your advice to write the five sentences of prayer and to work on it we have been doing this for a long time already, my question is when you go to work or whatever after the lesson you look at this prayer and you don't feel it, you see it is boring and you don't understand or have any emotion about it, the prayer is so work in the heart, how can I work with the text that you have no connection with during the day?
R. That you understand that once you had a connection to the 10 now you don't, meaning you can return to a state that there will be a connection, that you will have a sensation that it all depends upon how you direct your heart, so try through all sorts of states in your life that you are entirely feeling yourself disconnected from spirituality in order to make an effort to return to spirituality, to do such exercises until you make an effort to be capable in every corporeal state to be connected with spirituality.
S. Specifically through this prayer?
R. No not specifically that but that your attitude toward spirituality is expressed in the prayer, not this prayer as it doesn't matter what, prayer is called your request with respect to spirituality, your attitude toward spirituality.
S. About TES, why in the past, this no matter what, whether you feel you're ready or not, every morning you used to learn it and in our state it is such that it takes us so long to even begin to study?
R. You can see from the work of Kabbalists how important the intention is, it all depends upon the intention so if you will learn 100 years but without intention it won't help you advance even one millimeter in spirituality. But if you will learn just a little bit with the intention then we will advance. Rabash worked in a different time, all kinds of people would arrive who didn't know exactly what they wanted. As this time wasn't yet so clarified, not so scrutinized and so they would sit and ask why are we learning Torah? As the will to receive was very much a different degree and it was now and so maybe we spoke a bit about the intention but actually very little, that you arrived at the lesson, you opened the article read it for an hour and a half and in another hour and a half you would read TES. You can see it in the archive of the lessons that were recorded on tape and then we transfer them to our digital archive and you can download them to listen through the computer. This was an entirely different time, in these days I don't mean to teach you what is written in TES, that you shall attain what is written there, not that you should be all wise, not about what is written here or there, there are people who are already wanting to add additional commentary in the books as if this is what we are missing to reach the end of correction. This could actually be a disturbance in the future for humanity to reach it. The main thing is the intention that if you have the correct intention, that you are always working on this and accordingly you will advance to the purpose, to the goal of creation. Then the intention to bestow dwells upon all your desires.
S. What should we do with the fear that we would start studying to attain and I feel I'm not yet ready?
R. There's no such thing. Ready or not, we all make an effort to keep the intention of the study and we will bring more verses and do more exercises along with the study and we will advance everyone. Of course there will be those who it is not really belonging to them yet, although in our times this belongs to everyone. This is truly the generation of the end of correction.
47. S. (02:00:00) Is TES like a flow chart that we can use to utilize and diagnose what is going on around us and within us, to truly get that final part of connection?
R. No, TES is written for people who want to connect to spiritual actions by the correct intentions because all of spirituality is intentions, it will not pass through the mind, but rather through desire. This is how we need to pay attention to this.
48. S. (02:02:00) When we advance in spirituality and we combine states of connection and disconnection like in the case of Rabash, what is the quality of the factor that is built gradually to the extent that we advanced in the work?
R. That is the intention to bestow and this is what we need to worry about, that this intention to bestow will become returning, reflected light, that by this we are building our attitude to the Creator, the spiritual Partzuf, that by the reforming like the spiritual vessel is made and we will exist in that.
49. S. (02:03:09) By studying TES there is great resistance if a friend wants to show their knowledge or superiority?
R. We will learn in such a matter that the main thing is we need to keep the intention and to grasp the essence of the spiritual actions that we are learning and not that it appears as some physics or mechanics.
50. S. (02:03:55) What corrects our intention?
R. Our intention corrects our attitude to the Creator so it all depends upon that, it all depends upon the intention. Clear?
51. S. (02:04:20) What is the uncorrected connection between us and how to correct it?
R. The uncorrected connection is the connection between us, how do we correct it, by prayer that we request the force that will correct us.
S. The whole world is starting to be felt in our 10 does this depend upon our relation in the 10?
R. Our relations in the 10 are dependent on how do I correct the relations between us to connect as one man in one heart as we see the spiritual reality more and more in higher degrees.
S. Is the effort to connect, to subjugation for the 10 correcting the heart even before the light that reforms?
R. No, it only gives us that condition to advance by the light that reforms to the extent of the light that reforms that illuminates upon us.
52. S. (02:06:00) Previously we spoke about writing a prayer as a 10, we write a prayer after every meeting at the end of the lesson when we summarize the lesson the summary of the meeting is also writing a common prayer. Is it better to write a new prayer every time or maybe it's better to write a prayer as a summary of the lesson to take that all day long or to renew every meeting?
R. Make an effort in any case.
S. In every meeting to write new?
R. I don't know about every meeting but once a day to write something that appears new.
S. We do 3 times a day.
R. Maybe that's too many changes, try.
53. S. (02:07:19) Can we say that the whole purpose of the prayer is only to establish the intention?
R. All that we can only do is to stabilize our intention, our attitude to the actions of the Creator as there is none else besides him and only he operates, we are inside of his actions. What we need to do is only to stabilize our attitude to what he does with us. That is it. That all of the time to make an effort to feel that we are justifying him in any state because there is none else besides him. It's not that here the Creator operates in there no, but rather in all states I need to reach the place there is none else besides him, the good that does good, that I give praise and thanks to him being inside him in the correct intention to reveal him.
Excerpt 14 (02:08:41 - 02:10:48) Twice
54. S. (02:10:50) Is the intention personal or does it belong to the 10? If it does, how do we build mutual intention in the 10?
R. There is a personal intention of the man and then he checks how much his intention joins the other intentions of the friends, that in some total there is one intention of the 10, that the mutual intention of the 10 we need to then later care that this shall turn to be reflected light, that the desire to bestow back to the Creator and in this that we shall feel that he shall wants to bestow to us and then make your desires as ours and make our desire as yours. That he wants to bestow to us that we shall desire to bestow to him. So my beloved to me and me to my beloved, that in such a form that we shall begin to connect.
55. S. (02:12:14) In a while we are going to start learning TES and then each one shall have a choice. Either he takes a book to read in Hebrew or he is looking on the computer at the translation, what is better?
R. Hard for me to say, but I think in Hebrew it's more correct. It is hard to translate words from Hebrew into Russian or into any language. Also you are used to and you already understand many words, many definitions from Hebrew and so I don't think it would be that hard. I think that it would be good if you will begin to read in Hebrew. It is very different, it is hard but in any case it demands effort, but this effort also belongs to the spiritual effort because you want to connect to precisely the same forms as the upper light does in our world. Hebrew is not just some language that was created by ordinary people who speak different languages. Hebrew was made as a language that came to us from Adam HaRishon and 20 generations passed till Abraham and from Abraham on to us. It is like a line that existed only between those that learned spirituality and so the words, the writing, the shapes of the writing, the laws of the language, they all belong only to spirituality and thus it doesn't change. There was no Hebrew, a thousand years or two thousand years ago until now right. There maybe a difference in the shapes of the letters because there are different writing tools, machines, printing machines, but upon this there are also laws and a book called “The Writing Of The Author” is how it explains that every letter is a symbol that the Creator wants to bestow upon us so he is raising his light through some gaps like on the paper which you would have some other material and the light passes through these holes. In our world it gives the shapes of the letters and so we cannot change the shapes of the letters, there is no difference between the true correct letters of 2,000 or 3,000 years ago and today. You can take the book called the writing of the authors and you can see how precise it is in every detail as we learned from Kabbalah. It tells what each one of these little symbols on the letters, the shapes and angles and everything that it is all determined by the attitude between the light and the vessel. From the spiritual world the light arrived to our world as such we have yet to learn about this. Kabbalah, spirituality, the language, the true original language of Hebrew all entirely doesn't belong to this way which we will also learn about. It is worthwhile to change to the language of Kabbalah itself. Usually Hebrew wasn't used ordinarily as a spoken everyday language, this is how we have Yiddish, Latino, and all sorts of other languages every place that the Jews lived they would even oftentimes take a local language and only those who learn Torah would learn Hebrew. Only in our day has it become an everyday language.
56. S. (02:17:56) You said today that you don't understand that your attitude, your relation to the lesson defies the changes that you go through in your life. If I understand correctly a person in our 10 who doesn't feel any changes if they add additional efforts during the morning lessons can you get these changes?
R. Yes, and it is not dependent upon how smart you will be, but rather how much effort you will make to change your attitude. Your intention and this all depends upon how much you will connect to the lesson in an internal and emotional manner.
57. S. (02:18:50) We give the friends answers in the workshops. Is this a personal intention? How do we get all the friends' answers with one intention?
R. Make an effort if you can but if not at least you will know how much you are not in one intention, I don't understand what is the problem with intention. that you feel yourself so different from one another. What must a tension be that we will connect together and from our connection we will bestow to the Creator. That we will receive the Creator, his revelation between us that in this we will bestow contentment to him to the extent of the revelation of the Creator being dependent upon how much we have in egoistic desire and that we make an effort to rise above it. Accordingly, we will have the intensity of the revelation of the Creator in us. In sum total of the spiritual vessel is very simple, to realize it is difficult, but the principal is simple.
58. S. (02:20:16) Regarding the study of the 10 Sefirot TES in Hebrew, if we don't know any Hebrew do you recommend that we should hear the lesson in Hebrew as well?
R. You see here we already have a problem because if we don't change the Hebrew we also need to listen in our own language individually, each one. I don't know what to tell you. When I got to Rabash I didn't know Hebrew so much. I was in Israel maybe five years but out of that I worked in the army and I didn't need Hebrews so much. I began to learn to read and to write the language and when I arrived to him. I didn't have a choice. Kabbalah truthfully, you can't learn if not in Hebrew. As it is really similar to Italian, let's say in music, and such things. Rather each profession has its own language and in Kabbalah the laws of the language that are all belonging to spirituality its language is Hebrew.
Excerpt 15 (02:22:25 - 02:23:16)
59. R. We don't learn in order to know in the external mind like I'm learning physics but rather learning to receive internal change in desire and intention and then in this corrected desire I will be able to connect others and in this correct connection with the friends we will reveal the upper world, the upper force. Clear?
Excerpt 16 (02:23:52- 02:25:04)
60. S. (02:25:14) When we compose a prayer together should we also ask, can we also ask for strength for other tens?
R. No, talk only by yourself in the meantime otherwise you will get confused and your forces will be dwindled only about yourself and the connection between the 10 on the correct intention.
S. So the intention should be that we connect?
R. Yes, only by yourself in the meantime.
61. S. () When you are teaching a lesson of TES, the ones who don't understand Hebrew would you like for them to hear you in the regular language or in Hebrew?
R. I don't know what to tell you because as you know also what we are talking about by Baal HaSulam who didn't know Hebrew who were in his lesson and he would say okay, let them sit, that they would understand and advance out of this, that they desired to be with others and to attain and to connect. Because spiritual attainment is not even dependent upon language, only desire and if you have some additional obstacle they don't even understand what it's written about or spoken about but that you know that it's talking about the lights, and the vessels, and the intentions and that your connection with the upper force and in some total this works. I don't know what to say, we will begin learning and we will see. We are the first generation of the last generation and we will find what to do. Of course, if we didn't have these multiple languages it would be easier, but very good that we have problems that truly belong to the last generation.
S. Suppose now you're talking and you're being translated into many languages. Is this a problem?
R. No, no problem with that if we want people to understand but TES, it is also possible that the question is how much these translations are correct. We will learn, let us wait a few days to reach it and we will see.
62. S. (02:28:21) The matter of the language is one of the elements, but still when we are talking about intentions while studying TES, today we spoke about the emotional intention, that there is the matter of the text itself, the names, the Sefirot, how to combine the intention and the text?
R. The text in TES precisely speaks about the intentions like the entire wisdom of Kabbalah it all speaks about intentions, the upper world, the spiritual world and spirituality in general is only intention that upon the desires that need to change that you are equipping the intention. What do you want of the Creator because you have business with him and so we are only talking about the intention.
S. Will we understand how to build and determine the intention of how they're connected to each other according to what we read?
R. All of TES and all of the books of the wisdom of Kabbalah only speak about the intention of man according to each and every state that he changes his intention and reaches each time a higher degree of connection with the Creator.
S. So when we read something in TES we should find our intentions?
R. Without intention, if I take the text of TES and read without intention, then I am just reading like I am reading a newspaper. Only when I reach time upon every word in checking what changes must occur in my intention.
S. These changes according to every word that I read, what should be the changes?
R. Of course I don't so much I understand, as everything is before you, it is all written and you are asking?
S. No, it is as if we say my intention is to bestow to the Creator to connect to the friends, to dissolve in the 10, how to bestow to the Creator as TES there are millions of details?
R. Same thing as what you said before, in the connection between the 10 and from the 10 to the Creator, this is what all of TES is talking about this is why it is called the study of the 10 Sefirot, the study of the 10 connections between everyone and nothing else.
63. S. (02:31:55) What is in TES that we can't find it in the writings of Rabash or Baal HaSulam?
R. There are examples from spiritual actions not as preparations but as actions, not as preparations but actions.
S. We started the lesson with intention as one heart that should open his heart. It is important to examine myself at the end of the lesson, what has changed in me and the 10?
R. Of course.
S. If in order to study Kabbalah a person has to study Hebrew should we start a Hebrew course?
R. I don't know yet, just understand that we don't know how to understand but that we are capable of scrutinizing these matters of what is correct to do. Because it's not written in any place and I don't want to determine this in some absolute manner. Whoever has an opportunity and the capability I am certain that they can. It seems to me certain that the Moscow groups, especially that they are all very close to understanding the study of the TES and the wisdom of Kabbalah in Hebrew. In general because they are learning for many years and there are many students there who know and even some of those who speak Hebrew. I think here and there that we can do so, but I am not telling anybody what to do. What we are learning is intentions that each time upon what we should study we will need to update our intention if our intentions will be directed between us to connection and between connections to the Creator that we will begin to reveal him as the goal of our study.
