Hello, we're in a lesson on the topic of “The Ten as an Environment for Spiritual Development for Everyone.” We're going to start with the excerpts at excerpt number 9. Each and every individual in society is like a wheel that is linked to several other wheels placed in a machine. This single wheel has no freedom of movement in and of itself but continues with the motion of the rest of the wheels in a certain direction to qualify the machine to perform its general function.

And if there is some malfunction in the wheel, the malfunction is not evaluated relating to the wheel itself, but according to its service and role with respect to the whole machine.

M. Laitman: The system doesn't correct anything. There is only connection between the cog wheels, and each one is influencing the other and the rest of the machine.

Student: That means that actually until the wheel itself asks for correction, there will be no correction?

M. Laitman: No. You can turn it closer to correction because one influences the other after all, but in effect, if he’s already in contact with the other wheels, he has to care about its correction.

M. Laitman: Annulment is part of the correction. When he annuls himself, when he's not making any decisions, but only when he sees his connections with all the other wheels, when he influences them, then accordingly he makes a decision how to do it, so he will make them turn correctly.

M. Laitman: Yes.

M. Laitman: To the extent that they see the flaws, the malfunctions, they try to see the corruption, to see where it belongs, what's the reason behind it, and also how to correct it.

Student: And he has to accept the influence of the environment upon him, otherwise the corruption will continue.

M. Laitman: Yes, of course.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (10:17) Does the machine, the system, take into consideration individuals or Tens?

M. Laitman: The machine depends on each and every one. There's no clutch pedal where one can enter into connection with others, or Ten others, and another can't. No, everyone depends on everyone. A person checks and sees how much he depends on everyone, and how he influences everyone, and accordingly he has to correct himself, and bestow to the wheels in general, to the machine in general in the best possible way.

Student: So, the calculation is towards the individual?

M. Laitman: Yes, according to what you read, yes.

Student: And that individual, that corrected wheel, what does it feel if it's corrected? Does it feel the totality of the machine?

M. Laitman: He feels the totality of the machine, he feels that he's connected with them correctly, and that he's spinning with them in the right direction, at the correct speed, meaning he's influencing everyone

Student: How does a corrected wheel influence the whole of the machine, in what does it influence, or does it just screw into the system and be part of it?

M. Laitman: Yes, it fits into the system and that's it.

M. Laitman: Why not? By spinning with them in the right direction, the right speed, the right pace, the right connection, that's his role.

Student: What is a corrected wheel?

M. Laitman: Corrected means that he turns in the right way in the machine.

Student: But to the individual, the machine is not important, but rather only its part in the machine.

M. Laitman: No, no, he bestows to everyone, he influences everyone. Through his Ten, he influences everyone.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (13:15) If one of the wheels comes out, falls from the whole system for a long time, to what extent does it cause damage to it and to the Ten, what can you do in such a thing, and is it even called that a wheel is corrupted?

M. Laitman: The wheel that was inside the machine and maintained his incorporation with the other wheels, and for some reason it came out of the connection with them, that's a great corruption, and the entire machine feels it, and it's lacking for the entire machine.

Student: What do you do in such a state? How do you help that wheel, that friend, and also the Ten?

M. Laitman: Help it understand that he is causing a great deal of damage generally speaking, and it's not worthwhile. Show it how to attend to the complete functioning.

Student: How do we help as fast as possible to every wheel that's stuck?

M. Laitman: His friends who are connected with him, to the closest system, they need to show him that he is also corrupting and restricting their movement.

Student: And it doesn't damage his freedom of choice, and he feels that I'm not operating altogether?

M. Laitman: No, no such thing.

Student: If a Ten tells him, come back, we need you, does that not harm his freedom of choice?

M. Laitman: No.

M. Laitman: Because you're not connected to the friends.

Student: So how all in all does this machine work, if each feels dependency and it moves freely?

M. Laitman: It moves freely according to the laws of nature, according to the commandments of the Creator, the concealed ones.

Student: How can you get to feel that lack of ability to move along?

M. Laitman: If we begin to keep a correct and continuous connection between all the parts of the system, all the wheels, we'll begin to feel just how much we wish to be in connection with the entire machine, how much we can determine its correct role, and in this way we'll advance.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:05) Is connection something that each attains, or is it something that we make?

M. Laitman: Connection is what we attain. We have connection with everyone. Direct connection through something, through someone, through a system, a part of this great system. That's how we are connected. We have to be aware of it and understand that the corruption of one causes several greater corruptions, many corruptions, both in size and quality of the corruption.

Student: It turns out that connection is something total, it's truly absolute. Either you're connected with everyone, or you're not connected.

M. Laitman: No, no, everyone's connected. There's no such thing that they're not connected, rather the Creator is being the foot on the clutch.

Student: So how do we make Him shift gears in our movement so that there'll be even more connection?

M. Laitman: No, if we feel that we are unable to turn the machine in the right direction, then we can ask Him to stop it, to help us ignite it correctly, understand where our corruption is, meaning everything is done through prayer.

Student: So, the prayer is the action that makes many disconnected parts to becoming connected? What makes us connected, if eventually it's in the hands of the Creator, this clutch?

M. Laitman: We are connected.

Student: Now we're connected?

M. Laitman: Yes, except again, to what extent? The Creator is managing us in such a way that we don't feel more connection than what we're capable of correcting.

Student: When you tell us that we're lacking connection, and what we need is connection, so if we're connected, what does it mean that we're missing connection? When you say to us, you're missing connection, so what are we supposed to say when we're already connected?

M. Laitman: No, you are not connected.

Student: Now are we connected?

M. Laitman: No.

Student: So, what does it mean that now we're connected because one cannot be connected? Either we're connected or not.

M. Laitman: Not quite.

Student: So that was my question to begin with. Is connection something that an individual does, or everyone does?

M. Laitman: We're all doing it.

Student: So that's the question, what does it mean that we're all connected now?

M. Laitman: It's already the end of the correction of the system.

Student: It's clear, but to our current degree. I'm not talking about the perfect state that we want to reach, but in our current state, what does it mean that we're all connected?

M. Laitman: We don't want to be connected, we don't know how to turn the wheels in what direction, at what speed, and that's why we don't reveal the connection between us.

There is some connection, but it's not like we depend on one another, like cogwheels. That's why we have to come closer to one another, more and more, we have to enter into this connection. When we decide to be in connection, the Creator will help us, and then we'll begin to check, to feel, to see, exactly what is the form of our connection, how much I need to turn, how fast I need to spin, in order to mobilize my friends to whom I'm connected.

Student: So how do we move from a state where we don't want connection to a state where we want connection?

M. Laitman: In a state where we don't want connection and a state where we do want connection, and in between those two we have free choice. We have prayer where we enter connection.

Student: And the transition between states, how does it happen? How do we move from a state that we don't want connection to a state where we want connection?

M. Laitman: That's through recognition that you are in contact with them, and by turning and spinning with everyone, you'll begin to feel the process the machine is undergoing and how much you can influence it toward its correct functioning, and how much by that you will approach correction. The system itself is not too difficult.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (26:11) To continue the friend’s scrutiny, you said one can connect to everyone, and others can be at the same moment as if connected, but they don't know that they're connected. Can such a state be?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How does this happen? How do we know that we're ready for connection, but...

M. Laitman: Yes, but you don't know it. They are ready for connection and you don't know it, because you're not connected to them.

Student: Meaning that their heart is open for connection and I need to discover that?

M. Laitman: No, no, I didn't say that. They are not connected, and there are several reasons for that.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (27:23) The ideal state of connection, do we connect with our intention or is there something else?

M. Laitman: We need to connect through our heart's tendencies for connection, and through them to the correct form in which the machine needs to operate. The result of this connection is that everyone will know about the goal and will make 100% correct actions toward attainment of the goal.

Student: So, even corporeal actions lead to certain scrutiny?

M. Laitman: I don't think that corporeal actions, but let's say that, yes.

Student: So, is it more of an intellectual scrutiny?

M. Laitman: Spiritual.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (28:50) So if we depict to ourselves the picture of the cogwheels, let’s say in a watch, where all the wheels are already connected but not each knows it. You're missing recognition, like you said, so each wheel turns whatever they feel like, and everything is broken. So, it's missing that we will know that we're influencing every movement of our wheel? That's what we need to do, and we're also missing the goal of where the Creator wants to move this machine so that it will turn in the right direction?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (29:46) The role and service of the individual towards the rest of the machine, what is it? Is it the same role for each and every one, or does each have a uniqueness towards the machine?

M. Laitman: Each one has a uniqueness in how he participates in the machine.

Student: How does a person know what his role is exactly?

M. Laitman: He knows. By the time he gets to turn with the friends, he knows how to fulfill his role.

Student: So, the first stage is to just be in the flow with everyone, and then we discover the role?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (30:35) What's the oil that allows the machine to work in synchronicity correctly?

M. Laitman: Only the desire of the wheels that wish to turn in the right direction, at the right speed, in order for the machine to carry out its role, its function.

Student: What breaks in the system? Is it the ego, or the evil inclination or both?

M. Laitman: Both. The ego, the evil inclination, some other corruptions that may be, yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (31:29) Sometimes it seems like the Creator Himself takes a wheel out and throws him out. Does such a thing happen?

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no. There's always a possibility to enter the work with the other wheels, and turn with them, in the right direction.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (31:04) On the wheel I don't feel that I'm corrupted, and I come to the Ten and ask for help, so that with their help I will discover what's corrupted, so that I'll turn to the Creator and ask for correction, because I myself don't feel the corruption. Is it correct to do so?

M. Laitman: No. How come you think you're corrupt, or not corrupt, are you trying to do what's needed?

Student: There are things that I don't know how to do.

M. Laitman: But you know what you need to do.

Student: Yes.

M. Laitman: So, what's the question? You also know what you are unable to do.

Student: I'll ask concretely. I'm missing the recognition of evil, that I'm evil.

M. Laitman: I agree with you.

Student: And I don't feel that it's comfortable to turn to the Creator and say to Him, show me how bad I am, because I'm afraid I won't be able to tolerate it. So, I come to the Ten, I say, friends help me, so that I will have a little bit of inner work in the recognition of evil.

M. Laitman: Okay, that’s how you’re advancing. Slowly, but you're advancing.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (33:50) How does the Ten absorb a new wheel? How does the machine absorb a new wheel so that it will be absorbed and the machine will drive?

M. Laitman: That's not our business, the Creator is doing all that.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (34:12) In our world, if my car is driving and it sometimes breaks, I don't know what's broken, so I take it to a garage, I pay money, and they fix it and correct it for me. How do we do this in our state and the path of our correction?

M. Laitman: You know your friends in the Ten and how you need to be connected to them in order to reveal the machine, the engine, the connection between you, so everyone would turn in the right direction and the machine will advance for the purpose of life.

Student: And if we make efforts, dissemination, annulment, the lessons?

M. Laitman: None of it is worth it.

Student: So, what's the indication that something's okay or that it's about to be corrupted?

M. Laitman: If you are connected correctly, then you feel it.

Student: What does it mean to be correctly connected?

M. Laitman: That together, in the connection between you, you are moving the machine forward.

Student: Can we see that each in the Ten is also a wheel and also a mechanic?

M. Laitman: A wheel is not a mechanic, but he must know it about himself. He must know about his personal work, how he's incorporated with other wheels.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (36:18) I wanted to ask whether there’s a certain comfort to the created being in this whole depiction, in this whole creation? Some machine, some system, and there’s several cogwheels here, maybe there is some kind of comfort?

M. Laitman: I didn’t get it.

Student: This description sounds like something mechanical, or we can see it as a certain relative law that a person can learn this and will feel great comfort that he has at last rid himself of being the center of the universe, but rather he'll feel that if he feels the feeling of the system, he'll be able to understand that he has a very unique role in the system. And then he'll be able to rid himself from that ego, because he'll understand that he only has such a role and nothing else is worthwhile.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, the actual essence of creation seems that we constantly need to receive the feeling of the system.

M. Laitman: That's certain. We need to build the system of connection between us, and this way to start working. To connect more and more pieces to our system.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (38:11) We say anyone who disqualifies does so in his own flaws. So, is this also in relation to the wheels that we see as broken, or do we see a broken wheel? Question (Women Spain): (40:45) How does the feeling of not being free in a part of the system cause the system to feel perfect? How can a lack of something control?

In this way we wish to close the distance between us, and by the same token we are closing the distance to the goal.

M. Laitman: We ourselves we don't build the system, we only learn what it's made of and how we can incorporate its activation correctly.

Student: Meaning there's a good result if we bring this impression into our Tens so that each will be participating in the system.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Turkiye 2): (50:02) How do I know that I'm ready to connect, but I'm missing the ability to feel this lack for connection?

M. Laitman: You will start working on it together with the friends, and you will absorb their desires, and that's how you will come closer to restoring the system.

M. Laitman: I guess you have someone who is in charge of the Ten. You need to ask.

Moderator: There's a team that cares for the women Tens. They can stand up right now and tell us who they are and what their role is.

So, what do I do to bring the wheels that I don't see at all closer?

M. Laitman: To work with them more.

M. Laitman: That's a problem. You need to somehow carry them for the time being, and slowly, and make sure that they will realize, grasp the machine we're working in, how do we activate ourselves, who is activating us, and so on and so forth.

Student: Does it depend on the machine? Does the machine have to operate in a certain way so that they'll be able to come back?

M. Laitman: We need to behave differently, but through the machine, we are influencing them.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (58:00) If I feel that I can't fulfill my role in the Ten due to life, overloaded, is it because of a lack of importance that I have? And if so, what do I need to ask for?

M. Laitman: Maybe, it's possible, yes. What to ask for? Ask to have greater attention to the system, to each and every friend.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (58:50) Two weeks ago a great friend left us, a big heart, the father of the machine you could say. Let's say that he built the machine. How do we as a group still turn together as we're strengthening him and he's strengthening us? He simply passed away two weeks ago.

M. Laitman: I understand. You shouldn't dwell on it too much. There's a certain number of days in which we need to say our goodbyes to the friend who left us, and then after that, there are special dates that we need to do something for him, accordingly. That's it, not more than that. Not to regret it or anything. We have a role, we have a job, we continue towards the correction of the world.

Student: And this wheel that we're kind of missing, what do we...

M. Laitman: Do it so it won't feel like it's missing. Fill up his space. There's no commandment to sit and cry all the time.
