Part 1: Recorded lesson - Sep 13, 2020

Excerpts from the sources: “Work with Faith Above Reason”. #42

Reader: Hello friends! In the first part of the lesson we will study from a recorded lesson from September 13, 2020, "The Work in Faith Above Reason," selected excerpts from the sources. We'll continue from excerpt 42.

Reader: Hello, we're in a lesson on the topic of “Faith Above Reason.” We will read selected excerpts from the sources. We'll continue from excerpt number 42. You can ask questions on Kabbalah TV; relevant questions will be aired. Continuing on the topic of “Faith Above Reason.”

M. Laitman: (00:43) The whole thing is how to describe spirituality, how to depict it through the measure of connection between us, because we are vessels, we are fragments of vessels, elements of the vessels. Each and every one is only a point from the large Kli of Adam HaRishon. And if we depict spirituality, then we need to understand that to the extent that we return to that Kli of Adam HaRishon, the Kli that we can imagine it even to some extent, then we need to reach connection. That's why our success is the extent to which each day we can imagine ourselves more connected, more integrated, more feeling one another as one. And together with that, we fall from it, we feel ourselves that we don't belong to one another. And suddenly, we wake up and we discover that I'm alone. That's how I think, that's how I feel life. And then we need to reach a decision, each and every one, that never in my life, throughout the day, I'm not feeling reality as one, because then I'm in this world - simple, I'm disconnected from spirituality. The vessel is broken; it's not even aware. I'm not even aware of my broken state. I simply exist as part of the whole vessel, the broken vessel. So how will we strengthen one another, think of one another in such a way that each and every one will feel all the time that he is nothing but a part, a fragment of the complete vessel, and yet to yearn for connection with everyone in the Kli, in the complete Kli, in the whole vessel? That should be our constant inclination. To the extent we connect, we'll feel the flow of desires and thoughts that are in connection, through the connection. And then we'll begin to feel the spiritual life, that we have to discover in the vessel of Adam HaRishon. And we shouldn't wait for the Creator from above to remind us that we're thinking of ourselves, we're disconnected, we're not thinking of the connection, and this is our reality. Rather, “each shall help his friend.” We need to constantly think and care about all the friends, to think how each and every moment we can be drawn to the connection between us. And spirituality is what's revealed in that connection. We say “faith above reason,” all kinds of words that we may not be able to process, to digest. I get such questions; people cannot understand these words. What is faith? What is reason? What is above reason, contrary to one's reason? We need to constantly awaken and emphasize these things. But in the connection, it's clear to us, because the connection is something emotional. Either it's there or it's not. It can be clear to anyone. Whether or not we want it is not important, because each one, according to his degree, either hates the connection, or he appreciates it and wants it.

M. Laitman: (05:39) He's either in those states or the opposite states. So if it happens that he's disconnected from others, he determines that as night, and connection with the friends he determines as day. Until he begins to feel what is night, what is day, emotionally. And when he begins to understand what is night and what is day, mentally, in the mind and in the heart, this way he assembles the broken vessels in his eyes, and he becomes a part, a part that is returning to the structure of Adam HaRishon. It's something we need to make efforts in, and all of us, each and every one of us, can do it even without connecting or disconnecting from others in practice, physically. Rather, within himself, he imagines these things inside of him, and then from himself he turns to the Creator, and he asks Him to be connected to others on top of the disconnection. And he understands that the disconnection is what the Creator does to him. And so, when he asks, then he sees, he brings the power of light over the darkness and starts rolling these states. And as fast, the faster these states awaken in him, unfold in him, then he goes through these stages and moves forward. So, let's try. Let us try during the day to go through dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands of such states of connection and disconnection. And only in a great frequency of changes, of changing these states, then we can hasten our development and come to a point where we go through these stages quickly, and be in a state that is complete day. Because it's impossible without the darkness, without the night, to come to the day. There's no one without the other. Rather, they need to be equal in their importance to us. And in the night, too, we need to see these precious discernments for the revelation of the day, just like the day itself. And then, the darkness shines as light. And that's how we'll advance. That I think it needs to be clear to us, that this should be our effort. So the more we feel changes - day, night, day and night, connection, disconnection, awareness, unconsciousness - this is how we'll advance. We'll advance to a state where both night and day will be in great intensity, and we will bless for the bad as we bless for the good, and we'll come to a state where the night too shines as day.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (10:35) What does it mean that a person imagines these things, describes them in himself, turns to the Creator? What is that work he does without connection to his friends?

M. Laitman: Yes, it can be an individual work within the Ten or outside of the Ten. There is a matter of connecting to the Ten, and then there's a matter of preparing oneself for connecting. So day and night can be states of how one relates to connection, not how he actively connects, but how he prepares, relates for the connection and revelation of the Creator, bringing Him contentment. So all the discernments exist in the day and night, and ultimately all the discernments lead the person to the Ten, to the connection. However, the preparation for it might be not the actual connection, but scrutiny of the states of connection, the discernments.

Student: So there's work that a person …

M. Laitman: Even on his own, he can do the work, even before he remembers the group, but how he relates to the connection and disconnection, the states that he receives from the Creator, and how he positions himself towards them. And after this preparation, then he approaches the group. You understood there?

Student: Yes, but it's not related to whether or not I'm in a meeting with the Ten at the moment?

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no. That's why I said, there are such efforts where we can actually be alone, without any kind of connection, neither physical nor emotional. It's a preparation, preparing oneself. It's typically when a person, say, wakes up, for instance, from sleep or something like that, and he has to remember where he is. And so we go into such a disconnection several times a day. It happens deliberately by the Creator so that we renew the connection. This is called, “It shall be new for you every day.” The connection will renew itself, and that's how we start. We need to start from what I get now, being in the darkness, the disconnection, the lack of importance of connecting with the friends, with the group, being unconscious, and it comes to me from the Creator. So I raise the importance of the lack of consciousness. So I don't toss it away. I want to overcome it, and I try to overcome it each time in a different way. Rabash, as I used to tell you, he would go into a room and start dancing and singing. And if you looked at his face or his singing, you saw that it's not about just being joyful or anything. He just wanted to revive himself because he felt like a corpse. And that's how he woke up. Because our body is an animal, so you can revive it without any emotion or mind or connection to spirituality. And that's what's required of us to do. This is called “Every day will be new to you,” meaning every moment you are anew, and that means you come once again from the animal degree to the human degree. The Creator presents the degree of animal and the degree of man.

Student: And the point where the work begins with the Ten, how do I distinguish that?

M. Laitman: All the work needs to bring me to the correct state. Where is it? What is above reason? I don't know. I don't hear these words. I don't see what all these forms are. I don't know what I'm even reading. But the simplest thing is that I wake up from zero and I know that I have to be connected to them in all kinds of ways, emotionally, intellectually. In this way, I start to kind of touch it, to grope for it, to search for how do I bring these things together? They and me - together. How do I feel them? And the more we advance, the tougher it will be; and we'll start more and more from far away. Just like the students of Rav Shimon, they had to wake up from hating each other. Just hate. For us it's indifference, but soon I'll be in such states where I don't want them, I resist them, I hate them. I resist the Creator who tries to connect to me with them. Meaning, the evil inclination grows. Hopefully, we'll reach the right states, having the inner strength for it, and accordingly, we'll get the right exercises and challenges

Question (USA Northeast): (17:00) When working in faith above reason and being given a disturbance and choosing to remain there, what is the purpose of this as it relates to the Creator's work? In other words, what does the Creator do with this effort and action?

M. Laitman: The Creator ultimately forces you by the plan of creation to show you that the remaining disconnected from the others is bad. How does He show you that? Through suffering, because you don't understand that disconnection is bad. So He has to connect a bad feeling to, or some bad event, to the disconnection with the friends and then you can feel it. We have to see how we're coming to a point where humanity and us will feel through this pandemic that we're disconnected and that's why we're in trouble. We're going to have to relate our physical state, our emotional state, our mental state and our togetherness. That because we are emotionally distant from each other we don't feel that connection between us is good, that we're going to feel that this is the cause; that this is the reason for all of the negative states between us, and because this coronavirus plague appears throughout the world, even though it appears in a very, in a very insignificant way. So, what, a few million people are sick around the world, but you see how it encompasses the world, how much noise it makes, how it stops everyone. Because if in the past such a thing would happen in some country, we wouldn't relate to it that much. But now it comes from a different force, from a global force around the planet, from a spiritual degree, from a stage of the program that relates to the final correction, to the general correction. That's why we are relating to it in such a way that we just are confused, we don't know what to do, our scientists can't really come up with what's going on and just wait and see what will happen with the vaccine they're talking about. You'll see, it's not going to be so simple. It's not going to be like with the earlier pandemics that were just in a single isolated place, or in Europe, or Asia, and so on. It's not coming from the same program of the last generation, from the same global force called Messiah that influences the whole of humanity. This is the first time that we're beginning to see it. And so you can look in the world and ask, okay, what's the big deal? So, a million people die, so we have to stop the whole world for this? Stop the industry, trade and commerce and change our whole lives just because of that? What if there was a war and a million people, let's say, would die a day even, in a single day? It wouldn't be such a thing that stops everything. We wouldn't even stop fighting. So why are we halting everything right now? That's because a force arises from a higher degree, from a degree where we're already connected. And so that's the force that appears to us and shows us that we here have to become connected. And that's why we don't understand how it works on us. And that's a beautiful state that we're going through. Let's just start listening a bit more how the Creator relates to us, how nature treats us. And through that we'll start hearing the voice of the Creator. We'll start feeling His actions. And then accordingly we can begin to listen to Him and respond to Him. And then we can start moving closer to each other. And accordingly, we'll see that this pandemic fades away. And then once again we'll go back to our ego, and the troubles will come back. And, you know, it's just like a kid who holds on to the parents and then thinks he can run on his own again. And then he sees that, oh, there's a dog that is scary there; and then he runs back to his parents' lap. In a similar way, the Creator is teaching us how we need to always yearn for being connected to Him. So just see how it happens in our life. These are signs. It is said that there is no difference between this world and the upper world besides what's called the enslavement of the Malchuyot. You have this quote? We didn't really use this quote before, but we can. Meaning, what's the enslavement of the Malchuyot, the parts of Malchut? That we need to replace my Malchut, which means “I shall rule,” with the Malchut of the kingdom of the Creator, that He will rule. And that happens through these blows, such as the pandemic.

Student: When we're in that place in faith above reason, and we receive a disturbance, there's like a gap in between. So you feel the disturbance, but you're above it at the same time. Does this become something that we present to the Creator as, like, I remember you talked about going to lay down on the operating table. Is this a space that we present to the Creator as a Segula for Him to enter into that space and for a general correction, not a personal correction, but a general correct correction for all of humanity?

M. Laitman: I need to reach a state where I embrace the disturbance and through the disturbance I can care about the Ten - and it's about time where we start thinking about all of the Bnei Baruch Tens together - and with it I come to the Creator. It's like I hold all of the Tens, all of the Bnei Baruch groups in my hands and I want to connect with Him with all of them. So at first I ask Him to just connect me to my Ten, then my Ten with the rest of the Tens, and now I'm approaching Him with all of the Tens to embrace Him with all of them. The more we think about a complete form, the better we will be in our actions because the Creator has already taken into account the general correction of the entire world; and you're going to see more and more through this approach, through this relationship, how He's already considering the future of the world that is connected as a single vessel that He fulfills with the upper light. We're already in the last stretch of the correction. It's like the runners that are doing laps and then in the last lap there's just this one direct forward stretch where there's no more running around. So we've reached that point where we're no longer running around, we're just moving forward. The Creator is not that concealed anymore. We can't reveal it yet, but He's no longer strictly concealed. That's why we're discovering this blow that is appearing to everyone, not just here or there, but everywhere. So we're already in this final stretch of the runway, and we have to achieve our connection. It's a good state. We just have to better and better focus on it, clarify it, renew it every day more and more and not forget about it.

Reader: The quotes of you were talking about, so first of all, it's from Talmud Bavli, it says:

Reading: (27:37) There's no difference between this world and the days of the Messiah except for the enslavement of the Malchuyot.

M. Laitman: Yes, the enslavement of the Malchuyot, meaning replacing the Malchut. The Malchut refers to the control. First, it's the control of the will to receive, and then in the days of the Messiah, where the upper light already pulls us to rise in order to bestow, to connect, so then it's the rule of the Malchut that is connected to Bina. And so in this world, which is entirely in order to receive, between this and the next world, which is the next state that we need to achieve, which is in order to bestow - the difference between these states is only the enslavement of the Malchuyot, meaning that the Bina rules instead of Malchut. This is what's happening today, so we have to see it everywhere.

Question (Piter 1): (28:53) What to do when in the meeting of the Ten we discover hatred from me towards the friends or from the friends towards me? And afterwards, when the time comes for the next meeting of the Ten, it's difficult to show up, there's no will to show up.

M. Laitman: I didn't think you're so stupid. You know, what are you talking about? The students of Rav Shimon wanted to kill each other, to kill each other, before they started working on connection all the time. So it's not just you all not wanting to sit together with each other; this is what the Creator is doing to us. So, this means that as a Ten, you are working well. There are good forces that work between you if there's resistance between you and you don't want to connect. Then every one of you can truly become great. And if you feel that, and if you're starting the work of connection, then you don't let it go. You don't let it go, let's say, look at the clock, and you're there for half an hour or an hour and you leave. You leave only when you feel that you are connected in mind and heart, when everyone feels the other inside. Otherwise, you don't leave. And then, next time, perhaps you didn't engage in that at all, so you're very cold, you have to warm yourself up again, and you have to understand, each and every one, that this is what the Creator is doing to us. The Creator is putting a spike in our wheels. He's posing the disturbances. “I created the evil inclination” is about this, that everyone is rejected from the other, is resisting the others. It doesn't depend on the person at all. It depends on the shattering of the Kli. This means that the Kli becomes revealed. The revelation of the shattering takes place. And it's not that I don't want the friend, the friend doesn't want me, and so on and so forth. This is the shattering that's already there that's becoming revealed. Where does it say that this has caused the sanctity of the day? Everything's in the writings. The Kabbalists wrote about all of this. This is our work. We just have to remind to each other and not forget about doing it.

Question (Florida): (32:06) You said that Rabash would dance around to awaken his animal body. And then I think you said that from this point, it means from this animal body to the human degree. Is that what you said? Because I thought that this animal body was just the will to receive.

M. Laitman: It's true. It's true that it's the will to receive, but that's where you begin. You start from it. I would see him rise from that, how he would be just completely shut off in his emotions, in his mind, and just start walking to the bathroom, then to the shower, then sit down, and then maybe walk around the table, and I would bring him... He would say, okay, give me coffee. And I would bring him a cup of coffee, and he would start gradually, slowly. You could see on him how he gradually recovers a bit more and a bit more. And sometimes he would tell me, read. And I would read, and he would be like this, as if he is falling asleep. But he would listen, he would hear, and then gradually he would recover. That's how it was. Very, very hard. What am I trying to say? It's not like us with our small will to receive and small resistance to spirituality. He was on a high degree, and therefore, the fall corresponding the great level of spirituality, the fall to a great level of corporeality was very much felt, very opposite to spirituality. He would be almost dead. Like sometimes he would open his eyes, and you could see he's not hearing anything. We're going to recognize, we're going to get to know all these discernments of what spirituality does with us, because the Creator makes this against that. And so the descent from spirituality becomes big corresponding to the great degree in spirituality. So don't be afraid or despaired from all the descents. Just make sure you have a supporting environment that helps you. What about that story of Baal Shem Tov and his servant? You have that? Okay. No, when they send it to you, read it to us. These are things we need to renew daily and clarify that to us. Understand that this is the work, from darkness to light, and that we're going to fall into greater darkness and then rise to a greater light until we actually fall to the Klipot and rise together with the Klipot to the light to correct them because there is no spirituality without what we raise from the shattering to the correction. We don't just rise to some place where everything's there. No, we raise the broken vessels, and the light connects them, corrects them, and that's where we feel spiritual life, the soul. The broken vessels that come together, that is our soul.

Question (Turkiye 1): (36:46) We know that based on laws of nature, when we reach a desire, pleasure cancels the desire. So when we reach the connection of all friends, will that also cancel our desire? It seems like a dilemma. So what will happen to our desire?

M. Laitman: Our desire, when we come to spirituality, takes on a spiritual character. And when we use it in full, it takes on the amplification of the desire by the upper light and so then it turns out that in the desire there is an ability to discover an intensity that is six hundred and twenty times greater than before.

Question (Turkiye 2): (37:52) How can I feel my Ten drawing upper light with faith above reason?

M. Laitman: You will feel it to the extent that you are there managing them. And everyone does that from his point of integration in the Ten. Everyone should manage the Ten. Every one of us is like a Sefira inside the ten Sefirot of the Ten. And if you make sure that it happens, then your integration and the integration of each Sefira in all the other Sefirot  determines the shape and form of the soul.

Question (ITA 4): (39:04) How can a Ten that regularly participates in the morning lesson, how can it help other Tens which attend the lesson less?

M. Laitman: First of all, by just attending, we already create an atmosphere, a field, a field of influence that influences the whole of humanity. All humanity. We don't recognize it yet, but you will see later on that from day to day we become a source of life in this world. And then you will later see how this world will recognize it and start revolving around it. It will take some more time, but this is called the recognition of evil and then the recognition of good. So, don't try to go faster than it is. It depends on our connection and then later on it will depend on our dissemination of connection towards the others.

Question (Moscow 7): (40:32) You speak of how the Ten can connect to other Tens in the world Kli once it feels as one unit with a common yearning with one heart. But if I don't feel that my heart is in that state, in that case, how to connect with other Tens?

M. Laitman: I would not go to any other Ten. I would remain in my Ten, even if it's the smallest. There are stories of Kabbalists that talk about this. The greatness of the Ten depends on you, not them. It says, “they have eyes and you see not,” meaning you don't see what Ten you're in. And so, if they are physically more or less there with you in the lessons and other gatherings you have, that's sufficient. That's enough. For all the rest, it says, “they have eyes and see not,” meaning you don't see that they are suitable for you. You mustn't think that they're not good for you, that you can't advance with them. If they are physically there with you, all the rest depends on how you see them. The physical degree, we can't give up on that, of course. On that level, “the judge has no more than his eyes can see.” But other than that, you would have to say that you don't see the internality of the friends if you are with them. And you have no reason to replace a Ten, or join a different Ten, or something like that. But only with these friends, as much as you see that they are not worthy and not great, it's what you see in yourself. You remember all the articles about the man and his environment that he sees himself when he looks at the environment. So, remind this to yourself and keep going.

Student: The question here is even not about each of them individually.

M. Laitman: I also see them like that, with such a Ten, you can advance until the final correction without a problem. Of course, you'll have problems. The Creator will do, will make problems. But all of them are people that I know for what, 20 years almost, maybe. So what's the problem?

Student: The whole problem is in seeing the common heart of the Ten.

M. Laitman: All right, so it depends on you. It's up to you, not them. So in your heart and your mind, you need to build the Ten as a Partzuf. It's not a Ten yet. It's just what the Creator prepared for you and said, “Take it.” But you haven't taken it yet. That's your work. So let's hear you in a week and see if you succeeded.

Student: We are now talking about the need to connect to a common heart of the Ten, one heart. And after we have, that we need to think of other Tens. So in my Ten, seeing the Ten as one heart is something that is perceived in me, just me?

M. Laitman: Not you. It's all of you together. This Ten, despite the fact that it's all crooked, of course, you're not in the corrected form, however together you begin to connect, together in order to take care of another Ten or to connect with them and to work in a joint way. But in this joint work you need to still feel that you're always maintaining the Ten. You never let go of the system of your Ten, and that way you also want to connect to a different Ten, despite the fact that you're not yet corrected. And this work with the other Ten will help you all be closer together and to overcome all the disturbances, and you're aware of all these disturbances, and you don't want to erase them. You want to kiss the stick and to be above the disruptions, and in such a way to gather and assemble. That's the force of the coarseness, Aviut, resistance that’s inside, and the overcoming as the Tzimtzum [restriction], Masach [screen], and Ohr Hozer [reflected light], mutual bestowal - that's all above it, and that's how you build the Partzuf. You need to discuss it more together.

Reader: The story of Baal Shem Tov comes from the book, “The Reason of the Righteous.”

Reading: (46:40) He told the Baal Shem Tov, why do you keep quiet? Is it time to be quiet? And Baal Shem Tov told him, I don't know anything right now. All of my power was taken from me.

M. Laitman: The Baal Shem Tov is a Kabbalist, which after The ARI, and through to now, Baal Shulam, let's say, there was never such a great Kabbalist. There wasn't any greater Kabbalist in that period. He was that great.

Reading: (47:14) Maybe you remember something that I taught you. Remind me. And Rav Tzvi told him, me too, I don't know anything except for the alphabet.

M. Laitman: Meaning, that Baal Shem Tov received such an addition of the will to receive, which removed from him any spiritual sensation. He had nothing, like Shimon from the marketplace, as we say. Rav Shimon also had that, we have that story. And then what happens next?

Reading: (47:51) Then the Baal Shem Tov cried, why are you keeping quiet? Read the alphabet to me.

M. Laitman: He forgot everything except for the alphabet. He somehow remembers it when he reads it. We don't yet feel what a spiritual descent means, where everything that a person had before is erased from him. Meaning, you need to revise to a higher degree, and then what you had before is out of use.

Reading: (48:25) And Rav Tzvi Sofer started reading to him, Aleph, Bet, Gimel, Dalet. And the Baal Shem Tov answered after him, repeated after him, with huge inspiration as he's always had,

M. Laitman: Meaning that he doesn't know what he's doing. He's just repeating after his servant, his helper, his assistant, which didn't fall as deep as Baal Shem Tov. And he knows how to read, right? He knows how to utter some words. And Baal Shem Tov simply, simply repeats it, repeats it without any understanding, without the mind. But he wants to integrate in all of that and to rise. Just see what a spiritual descent means and how far we are from it.

Reading: (49:28) until he regained all if his power.

M. Laitman: Until the upper life returned to him, the spiritual degree, the sensation of that degree of above reason. So we don't need to be so impressed when we suddenly feel a slight lack of desire, a slight lack in our feeling, when we're confused, when we lose orientation, as if I didn't learn anything. That's actually a sign of a new degree, when a person has that feeling that he doesn't know anything. So, what can I tell students when I don't know, I didn't learn it, there is this feeling in the mind and in the heart as though there's nothing. Then gradually, every time, one needs to awaken himself.

Reading: (50:37) Baal HaSulam, Letter 5. 19, 21

I remember discussing similarly with you on the first day of Rosh Hashanah upon our return from the house of AM. You shared with me very sad things that you saw that morning during the service.

Reader: Sorry, it's from letter 5.

Reading: (51:00) Baal HaSulam, Letter 5. 19, 21

I rejoice in those revealed corruptions and the ones that are being revealed.

I do, however, regret and complain about the corruptions that have still not appeared, but which are destined to appear, for a hidden corruption is hopeless, and its surfacing is a great salvation from heaven. The rule is that one does not give what he does not have. Hence, if it has appeared now, there is no doubt that it was here to begin with but was hidden. This is why I am happy when they come out of their holes because when you cast your eye on them, they become a pile of bones.

M. Laitman: Meaning, that every day a greater light shines on us from the Creator, and so we feel that within us awaken desires which are worse, we become more disconnected from spirituality and so on, it's because the upper light is working on us, showing us the truth of where we are. And so we need to bless over the bad as we do over the good, as he writes that the holiness of the day caused this, right? Because it's the upper light which awakens us, so thus again and again we have to maintain the conviction that this is the path, as it is written, “those who are wicked shall fail in them and those who are just will succeed.” One who is just wants to justify everything that happens to him because it comes from the Creator, it's all aimed towards the purpose of creation, so he advances. And one who doesn't want it, who doesn't do it, he will fall.

Question (Latin 3): (53:22) If I heard correctly, you spoke about the fact that one can reach a high degree of spiritual elevation in an individual way. You said we can attain spiritual degrees individually, but it doesn't apply to us because we need the environment.

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no. How can you attain any spiritual degree if you don't build a vessel where you can feel the spiritual degree? You have to be connected to the others, at least to one Kli [vessel]. Three, four, five friends, I'm not talking about a Ten even. But by yourself, you're not a vessel. The vessel needs to have all kinds of collisions, conflicts between different strange desires which are opposed, and you need to tie them together. And then the gap - the ego that rejects and the light that helps you connect - between those you establish the spiritual Kli. You have coarseness, Aviut, making you disconnect, and then you have the light causing you to connect, and with that, you have the Partzuf. Only in the vessel, alone a person cannot discover spirituality. It happens sometimes, it did happen in the past, in previous generations, but it's not for us. It's not for the era of the Messiah, the time of the Messiah and the last generation. I don't know how, for months we've been discussing how to build the spiritual vessel through connection. Suddenly, you say this, you speak as though it's possible to attain spirituality alone.

Student: Well, it's what I heard from you, that's why it sounded weird to me.

M. Laitman: It's what you heard from me, but it's not what I said; it's what you heard. And besides that, ask your friends if I ever said that we attain spirituality alone, individually. Ask the friends, and they will tell you. There is no such thing. We need to revive the system of Adam HaRishon. Adam HaRishon we need to revive. The Creator created the vessel, one desire. He broke it into many parts, and to the extent that we're able to assemble these parts back together, we discover the upper light, which fills up those parts which are connected. That's the process. How can you discover in a shattered vessel anything that is spiritual? You can't. But for a spark which is revealed and pulls you towards the goal, but to take one step towards the goal, for that, you have to start with connection. We study the shattering. We learn how the shattering is corrected only by gathering the parts together. What you heard, what you say you heard me say, I don't know. Also, how often are you in the lessons so as to be able to say that you heard this from me. And let's say you heard it once. How many times did you hear otherwise, that it's only through connection between us? Be careful about misunderstanding of what we're saying.

Student: Maybe to clarify it, what do we call what Rabash did when he would wake up in a state of a beast and do some work on his own to regain spirituality, to return to spirituality?

M. Laitman: Yes, to return to spirituality. To return to spirituality, that means to return to connection. And there's no other way. It's only to return to connection.

Student: But this can be done alone by your own strength.

M. Laitman: Yes, but you're by yourself, and you yearn to return to connect with the friends. You don't have to be in the same room with them, right? Like now, we're not in one room. But you want, your desire is to be connected with them together, and for the upper light, the upper force, the Creator, to be revealed in all of you, in the connection between you. The more you're distant to each other, even in hatred towards each other, you want to connect above the hatred, then there is a force that pushes you away from each other, and you ask the Creator to give you the power that will connect you to each other. And between these two forces, you feel spirituality. I don't know what's happening to all of you. Perhaps it's only today, it's such a descent where you're all disconnected, or perhaps you have some kind of, I don't know, maybe you're getting some bad translation or someone else is affecting you? Screwing things around. I don't know, check, see why it’s happening.

Question (Kyiv 1): (01:00:03) We don't attain spirituality on our own. And yet, you told the friend that discovering the heart of the Ten and building a spiritual Partzuf is something that depends only on him. So, can the friends participate formally in some connection between them? How to join these things together?

M. Laitman: Spirituality depends entirely on you. You don't need to wait for others. Of course, you need to awaken their hearts. You need to cause the connection between you, between them. But the inclination towards spirituality depends only on you. Pray to the Creator to arrange it. And the Creator can arrange it for you. If in practice you don't even feel that you're getting closer, check, see what states you are all in. But it's a simple matter. What I want to say, to summarize, don't see yourself as dependent on others to the point where you cannot advance because the others don't advance. Don't say, how can I come close to them? How can I connect with them when they don't want to connect? How can I reach the purpose of creation if you all don't want it? There is no such thing. Anyone who casts flaws on others is seeing his own flaws. I see them according to my own flaws, and I see, and I hear them as well according to the extent of my corruption.

Question (Kyiv 1): (01:01:55) You said, if I heard you correctly, that Aviut appears within rejection, hatred, and above it we build the spiritual Partzuf. So it appears inside of me in relation to the friends, or it is something that I need to discover on the outside?

M. Laitman: It's in me, me, me, it all is revealed in me. Hatred, rejection towards the friends, I don't want them, it's revealed in me. I want to kill them, to slay them. And this desire remains, and upon it, I build connection and love. Upon it, it's never erased, it only keeps growing. And at the end of correction, all these bad attitudes, they remain, it's called “the angel of death.” And because He caused me to build up those connections, He is called the holy angel. That's why we say that the angel of death becomes a holy angel. Holiness means love, connection, where those opposing forces help us connect.

Student: Is it called that we are changing the rule of Malchut with the rule of Bina?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And here the work is. You said that inside the Aviut remains, and above it I build the Masach and Ohr Hoser?

M. Laitman: Of course. That's what we learn from the structure of the Partzuf.

Student: Meaning, I have to discover this hatred and resistance between us in order to restrict it and then build the connection on top of it?

M. Laitman: But it's not that I throw away, reject these egoistic forms. I take them into account, and above them, upon them, I build a structure of love. You, as an architect can understand that it's impossible to build anything if you don't use all of the different qualities of the bricks, the concrete, all those things that you have to take into account, the forces at work there, how they work according to heat, cold, rain and so on, how they can withstand inner stresses, and so on. The construction depends on the collection, joining of opposing forces which are all arrayed towards a single goal. And it's in anything that we build in our world, that's how it is, in every atom, in everything. You always have opposing forces, you have, as well, you have a general force above them, which connects them together, directing them towards a single action, a single goal.

Student: It's not clear, we learn that I have to restrict, and rise above it, and integrate in the love of friends. How can you keep that hatred at the same time?

M. Laitman: If you want to build love without rejection inside, it's not love. It's not love, it's just you enjoying the situation you're in, and that's all. To be in some spiritual state, that's possible only, only if you stand on both legs. It's impossible for you to feel love and with that, not to feel the rejection. It's only in very small people, children in our world, that's how they feel it. Let's forget whatever happened in the past, and from now on we will be in love, and the next day or in a moment, again the hatred returns. If we build them together, then both of them exist; it's called “love covers all crimes.” Love needs only to cover the crimes; without the crimes, there is no love.

Question (Turkiye 3): (01:07:20) Is every question that's asked in the lesson to move a person from one state to another?

M. Laitman: Yes, it's however you take it. You speak as though there are states that go above us, pass over us like winds. If it's like that, nothing will happen, nothing will come of it. But if you know how to accept them and process them, that brings you from one state to another.

Question (Africa): (01:08:01) You said that in our dependence on others, we shouldn't reach that extent where we feel that the lack of advancement of another prevents us from advancing. How can we prevent ourselves from drifting into indifference in such a state?

M. Laitman: But my advancement depends on me, and it's dependent on the kind of group, the kind of vessel that I come to the Creator with and present to Him for Him to be revealed. I give Him contentment by giving Him a vessel in which to be revealed. That's the meaning of how the Creator wants to dwell, to reside in the lower ones, right? So, I present to Him His abode, right? His residence. And so, I'm interested in everyone being connected together for the same purpose of giving the Creator a place in which to be revealed, by which we give Him contentment, and so on. And that's how we advance.

Student: But if one person is drilling a hole in the boat, how can we put a blind eye to it and not make it draw us back? How can we incorporate that degree of the drilling of a hole into this whole desire?

M. Laitman: We need to take care of this, that's what we need to take care of. And also to tell ourselves, moreover, we need to tell ourselves that the fact that he received a desire to drill a hole in the side of the boat, it's because we were not connected enough together, and so we caused him to perform such actions. Here you have the issue of Arvut, social Arvut, group Arvut. If we think about the group as a whole, then indeed, it cannot be that some single friend in the group will have the urge to cause some damage to the wholeness of the group, to drill a hole in the boat.
